Are we as a society ready to talk about how Orpheus and Eurydice are character foils in the game?

Orpheus is weighted down by his and Eurydices death. He’s trapped by it, unable to see past his mistakes

Eurydice, on the other-hand, is freed by her death. Although she is angry at orpheus for his screw up, she’s found peace within her solitude in Asphodel.

This in turn gives the line “don’t look back” a different meaning in Lament of Orpheus, as it shows how Eurydice refuses to “look back” on her past life due to the peace she’s discovered in death, while Orpheus ONLY chooses to look back into his mistakes.

Looking back for Orpheus would mean that he’d have to realize change could be made, even now that he’s dead

But that’s just a theory, a ga- *gets shot*

A melancholy little musician in my garden~ 🎶🥀

After making his lovely wife, Orphy was quite straightforward, having no roots or bark coming out of his head, but his lovely lyre more than made up for that! The lyre is sculpted out of foam clay, which is my new favorite thing.(It helps that I also play the kithara in real life, so I could use my instrument as a reference to make sure the construction made sense!)

I enjoyed figuring out how to wrap his drapery around him in the back there, and getting everything to sit on him as it should. Also sculpting his sad little sourpuss face! 🥺 And of course, I made very sure he had the most glorious mullet known to man.

I hope you enjoy this little purple prune of a man. Send him some encouragement the next time you run past him in the halls of Hades’ court!
