This piece was commissioned by @that-which-isnt as a theme for the series of Touhou webnovels they've been translating, This is the Hifuu Detective Agency.
As the title of the song implies, it's a rearrangement of "Girls' Sealing Club" from the album Ghostly Field Club, going for a jazzier, noirish tone. I aimed to create the sort of music you might hear in a dark, smoky bar - the kind of place where you can get proper organic liquor, not the weak, synthetic stuff.
As far as I can recall, this is the first time I've been commissioned to do a full-on remix / rearrangement of an existing piece, and it was an interesting change of pace! Figuring out how to translate ZUN's work to a different genre, and putting my own spin on it in the process, was honestly a blast - I'd love to do similar work in the future if I get the chance.
The track art was done by maiisheree on Twitter.
You can listen to some of my other work by checking out my “my-music” tag. Working on a game, podcast, or anything else that could use some original music? Consider commissioning me!
Christmas as a cultural icon is starting to get really dystopian in a climate sense, december has historically been a time of year in which there would be snow in a significant portion of europe and north america, and the fact that its not even icy this time of year and all the christmas songs and decorations reference a time of year that will likely never exist in the same way again in my life time is so strange.
Researchers have discovered that leaky blood vessels, together with a hyperactive immune system may be the underlying cause of brain fog in people with long covid.
They suggest their discovery is important for the understanding of brain fog and cognitive decline – difficulty with thinking, memory or concentration – seen in some people with the condition.
It is hoped the findings will help with the development of treatments in the future.
To Summarize:
Long Covid sufferers experience symptoms like forgetfulness and concentration issues due to leakiness in brain blood vessels, according to research findings.
Scientists from Trinity College Dublin and FutureNeuro confirm that Long Covid patients with brain fog have disrupted blood vessels in their brains, making the neurological symptoms measurable.
Blood vessel leakage in the brain, along with an overactive immune system, may be the key drivers of brain fog in Long Covid patients, leading to potential changes in understanding and treating post-viral conditions.
I can't find a single right-wing news source covering this.
I love how we got the introduction to TREE LAW a few weeks ago, when that story went viral on Twitter about the person whose neighbor illegally had all of their trees chopped down because they wanted a city view, so that we would understand what was happening when Universal thought it would be funny to deprive strikers of shade by "trimming" city-owned trees to the point of destruction.
This is an excellent example of organically teaching concepts without relying on tedious tutorials or forced, immersion-breaking expository cutscenes.
