i cant believe this is happening im so so so happy 1989 holds such a special place in my heart im so happy

first ones difficult because I kinda don't care for either, I'm gonna go with the out of the woods mv I'm a sucker for themes using the elements and I love her finding herself at the end
tea for definite but only the way my mom makes it, I hate 'english tea' as we call it, I've actually grown to like the smell of coffee but I can't get behind the taste
i've never had a pet but I feel like hedgehogs would be so much more fun and cuter but maybe I am a little biased because animalanon posted the cutest hedgehog the other day

Glitch
Glitch is about an affair (someone else's playground) with an ex (sweat you out). It references a blood moon & a “2190 day love lock out”. Exile means to be barred or locked out. To me, “Exile” starts at the 2015 BBMAs. 2186 days later is the 2021 Brit’s, which they attended 8 weeks after speaking at the Grammys. That moon cycle had a blood moon. (2021 timeline)
It is yet to be a surprise song and Taylor has said little about it. Taylornation used it in promos for 1989 TV and Wildest Dreams TV during Red TV. It has a number of Haylor references. It has shares a Spotify Wildest Dreams visual.
Lyrics

This verse establishes that Taylor and this muse have a history, but are being 'just friends'. Although they don't live in the same part of town, Taylor mentions they see each other based on mood, situationship and intoxication. This sounds like casual hookups. Taylor and Harry have songs about 'just friendship' in:

In the first verse Taylor told how they are friends who contact each other occasionally, however there is a glitch and she's attached. This verse has Haylor references:

"I'm not even sorry" was the title Taylor joked about giving to Style to Rolling Stone “We should have just called it ‘I’m Not Even Sorry."

Finally blood moon lit. I think this interaction occurred under a blood moon. There’s only a handful of dates that could be, but I think it is May 25 2021. (Sorry blood moon album drop truthers, yes I know about red)

Taylor had intended to get over wanting her muse by sleeping with them but she still wants him
The someone else’s playground sounds as if Taylor and the muse are not single, which they weren’t. This is 2 months after the 2021 Grammys
“Love lockout” is similar to “Exile”/woman where Taylor sang about the 2015 BBMAs as the start of the exile/love lockout. 2186 days later was the 2021 Brits awards. They had started writing about each other. (Midnights was started after the Grammys, Harry’s house was completed 3 months later).
And in bejeweled MV she told us Exile was ending (MV was a year after the 21 Brit’s)
A brief interruption, a slight malfunction
I'd go back to wanting dudes who give nothing
I thought we had no chance
And that's romance, let's dance
Taylor tells herself it’s a brief moment, she tells herself to go back to her BF who gives her nothing.
To me the brief interruption / slight malfunction could refer to the brief times they have indicated they saw each other (I did something bad/high infidelity and cruel summer/falling, these didn’t last.)
It ends on a note of temptation. she explores her disbelief that this muse wants her more in Snow on the Beach.
She lets herself enjoy the moment and dances, which is a dangerous thing for the same reasons in Cowboy Like Me

First let’s talk about how New Years relates to Haylor. During the Red era HS and TS share a New Years Eve kiss in Times Square. It was literally like the cutest thing ever!!
In the Lover mv she has a New Years Eve party in the Red era room.
To me this is a strong indicator that she associates New Years with Haylor. Now to the lyrics.

Now we know TS also associates Polaroids with Haylor.

‘There are two lines in this song that I had been saving for a long time for the right moment and I had picked them for this song, and I’m really excited about them. These lines were in her notes app for years!! She was still in her first year of her relationship with joe. So these lines aren’t about him. Lots of us believe these are the lines HS is referring to in his song Him “I was with you when you wrote that line, it was me that you had on your mind”

what do you think the vault tracks are about?
slut! makes me think it'll be a hard-hitting, sad bop, about her reputation as a slut and how deeply it hurt, how badly she wanted to break free of it, what it means to be a slut, why society deems it bad to be one, and so on. i think there will be a surprising "so what if i am? what's wrong with being a slut?" line. and if shake it off was her trying to "shake off" the slut allegations, slut! will be her darker, private musings on how she can't/won't/shouldn't.
say don't go makes me think sad bop about how she wanted to be chosen before she walked away. she didn't want to be someone's fantasy they let go of (wildest dreams) or someone's second thought (ayhtdws.) she didn't want an apology that came too late (hygtg.) she wanted them to make the choice to keep her before she left at all. i think it might have parallels to hygtg more than anything.
now that we don't talk makes me think it could be about the end of a bad relationship (for some reason, i'm thinking friendship)... and the way she sees her life is better without that person. kind of a ibytam-meets-clean-meets-iftye sort of thing: a song that uses sass to cover up this hurtful relationship she is now moved on from.
suburban legends feels like it'll be a song that defies expectations, as her punny titles often do. so while i want to say it would be a fictionalized love story about a relationship that, against all odds, made it out... i think it might be more of a cynical myth. urban legend implies folklore, mythology, long-lasting stories. suburban legend maybe indicates something smaller, less legendary = a relationship that didn't make it and the world didn't stop for. something expansive and rich ala red, holy ground.
is it over now? might be sad but i think it'll be another expectation-defier and be a bonafide bop! part of 1989's theme of self-discovery, i think it could be a song where she asks herself, am i now ready to grow into the next version of myself? and what if i don't know what that means? think that scene on the beach in the ootw mv, where she comes out of the jungle and touches her own shoulder--and how she said she didn't know what direction she'd take after 1989... what now?
