I really enjoy the life series being a thing that goes “thrown into a death game and shit gets intense and we all end up needing therapy” BUT ALSO the meta version where it’s “Grian invited us to a death game and we voluntarily went and shit got intense but it’s all good we know we’re doing this for entertainment, no hard feelings anywhere (although some players hold grudges stronger than others)”

But what if it was combined? Sorta like genloss

Maybe it’s only the winners who see eldritch beings holding cameras or floating cameras. The winners get a special mic held up to them while they rant about their strategies or thoughts. Maybe everyone else sees it too, but it becomes invisible to them as the season progresses. As shit gets intense and they get their head lost in the game

And Gem, the newest addition, doesn’t have seasons worth of ignoring the things out of the corner of her eye. She catches a camera and stares right at it. At the audience. Us

I’ve been trying to write a dp x dc world building concept for a week now but in true myself fashion, I added real world scientific procedures & processes into it and have been trying to fuse actual scientific explanations with fictional concepts.

The main issue is I don’t know how much I’ll have to explain to make things make sense. I took a few genetics and took AP Bio when I was in high school which was a while back but I’ve kept a sustained interest in learning about the field so while I’m having to take out my notes and relearn some stuff, I’m still fairly familiar with the process of DNA replication and can use terms semi-fluently. But I can’t just expect people to know how PCR (polymerase chain reaction) works & will want to give a thorough explanation of what different ways I think where the metagene could sit in animal DNA & etc.

One of my siblings also works in a lab that does work with genetic editing so she’s been a great help at helping explain to me lab procedures.

But most importantly: how interested would y’all be in me shoving bits of above-average science & lab knowledge that I’d need to explain it a little for it to make sense into my worldbuilding and fics? Also, how interested would you be in a more technical and genuine scientific approach into how stuff like ectoplasm or the metagene would be researched? Lab research and testing is much more mundane than you’d think but I think it would be cool to ground the fake-scientific explanations of these fictional universes in the scientific practices & procedures of reality.

Also, it might be fun to explore the bs atomic age comic book science explorations into how dc science canonically works and critiquing comic-book science with real explanations of what would happen if [x] actually occurred irl.

Anyways, please tell me what y’all think!

God I’m actually very mad about how wasted/underused Goda feels in the OOO 10th movie because if they had done him in a mini series style thing then A. we could have had more unhinged Shu acting which would have been so fun, he’s clearly having fun in the role and B. It would have been Such a good little arc to parallel Hina and Shingo with Ankh and it would have been a Really good way for Hina and Ankh to bond over that shared understanding now of “oh god someone else is walking around in the body of someone I love and this is both unsettling/kinda horrifying.”

alright concept:

Finnegan writing down his time in Wonderland (mainly bc he likes journaling/writing). When he returns home, he shows off his "book" (which he latter calls Through the Looking Glass) and becomes a Tale like his mothers. Except....he also becomes a Narrator, because he wrote his own Tale down. That's not common. That is not done.

After some confusion and talking with Alex & Blake, it's decided that his Tale is official, but he must publish it under another name: Lewis Carroll - a reference to Wendy's two missing/deceased brothers (lewis & charles).

So the Popzone AU is pretty much the idea that Brozone decides to do a Reunion tour after the events of Trolls 3 both for nostalgia (before JD fucked shit up) and so Branch actually gets to experience performing with his brothers in concert without it ending in disaster Only issue is due to the mental and physical abuse he endured during his captivity Floyd is too physically fucked and terminally fatigued to perform properly or for extended periods of time SO ★THEY ALL DECIDE TO HAVE POPPY FILL IN FOR HIM AS THE PINK BITCH OF THE GROUP WOOHOO★

Honestly, first time noticing the names in Simon's contact list I was just like 'haha cute references' and didn't pay it much mind. But looking at them again, and really thinking about them. The Implications here, like Most Things About Simon's Life Right Now, are pretty tragic....

Like, Abracadaniel and Lady Island and Gunter (and BMO if you take into consideration the comic's continuity) are not Simon Petrikov's friends, they were Ice King's friends.

You know, like, yeah, everyone except Marcy knew Ice King way way before they got to know Simon. But at least with folks like Finn, finding out about Simon is a huge reason why he started being kinder and friendlier to him. And Bubblegum probably is only fond of Simon know in spite of him being Ice King.

But Abracadaniel and Lady Island liked Ice King without having any frame-of-reference or concept of 'Simon Petrikov' in their heads. They were Ice King's friends.

And Simon's phone is pretty distinctly, like, a realistic early 2000's cellphone. A total contrast to all the magical/sci-fi/cobbled-together looking cellphones everyone else in Ooo uses

And Ice King himself, I'm pretty sure we've only ever seen him use either a normal-looking landline or the Bananaphone

Not this ordinary Nokia-looking flip-phone, definitely.

So I'm assuming this phone was maybe found buried somewhere in the Past Room, or maybe was unearthed while they were preparing for that '20th Century Man' exhibition and Simon also takes it along for personal use. But either way, Simon had to deliberately put those numbers of Friends of the Ice King in his contact list.

It might be something as simple as having transferred the data from some of Ice King's old communication devices and then just... despite it all Simon just doesn't have the heart to delete these names. The same way you or I might not have it in us to the delete the numbers of friends of ages past or increasingly-distant acquaintances or dead relatives.

Or maybe Simon did try and preserve their friendship at first. Or maybe the friends did. And obviously it didn't work out.

I mean, I can kinda see maybe Simon getting along fine with Lady Island because IK was relatively Grounded interacting with her so maybe the change to Simon won't be that much of a difference to her. ....But that can also create problems if she has a hard time seeing the difference between Simon Petrikov and Ice King, that would really make him uncomfortable.

But there really is zero chance Simon managed to keep things going normal with Abracadaniel. A Wizard who originally bonded with Ice King because he saw him as a cool Wizard. Not to mention Gunter is currently a living incarnation of the very Crown that cursed Simon in the first place and a manifestation of Gunter's love of Ice King

so... yeah, I think in Simon's current state any interaction he had with those two was unbearably awkward and just another thing that will make him miss being Ice King in a twisted way.

And yet... despite wanting so badly to define himself as distinctive and different from Ice King ("I didn't write those! Ice King wrote those!") and to not be reminded of him.... Simon still keeps all these people in his contact list.
