my all time favorite pokemon is ampharos! i love ampharos so much and if i had a pokemon trainer sona that would be my partner pokemon:3 some of my other faves r cyndaquil (& its whole evo line), whimsicott, deino (& its whole evo line), and tyranitar :P as for legendaries my faves r raikou and lugia 🫡 my favorite type overall is dragon also LOL
fav zelda game is tricky bc as into the lore of all the games as i am, i havent finished most of them 🚶♂️ and by most of i mean the only one ive finished is botw. i really like twilight princess and ocarina of time though!! its slow going but im working on finishing them both :P skyward sword was also fun i just kinda put it on the backburner Oops…..i dont really have a favorite bc of this so usually i just say botw/totk (which i also havent finished yet 🧍)

So I always sort of new about this blog since i follow your FR blog, but I saw you mention shiny hunting and ran back here to see if you had some stories or pretty designs and I'm so happy you do! I love when you design characters and basically anything, and I love hearing about shiny hunts (has also been losing their mind on shiny hunting) So Im gonna be sticking around, admiring your work all over again <3

and yes!! I'm really enjoying shiny hunting and this is the first time since black/white where I've actually put effort into it and scarlet makes it so easy which is great cuz I'm always busy lol
I've gotten a full box of shinies so far and just a few days ago a whole team of shiny gyarados which tbh I was never really into before but now it's become one of my favs <3 I've made one of them an oc so now I just have to figure out how to design her 🤔 atm trying to find a shiny deino cuz I'd like that thing to be her kiddo
worst hunts so far tho have been cetoddle, slither wing, and girafarig mostly just cuz it took FOREVER and I could feel my brain actually turning to mush. eventually got em and I love them but oh my god what pain lol. also most of my shinies so far have been female so that's interesting but I love drawing girls so win win for me <3

Omg free deino at dragon con!?!

(darkestnightz) OMG HYDREIGON IS ONE OF THE MOST MISUNDERSTOOD POKÉMON I'VE EVER SEEN
I raised my girl Sanctimony from a Deino (adopted her) and she's so gentle, I spoil her rotten with chewy toys to this day
She's best friends with my Luxray, Bumblebee, they take naps together when we're camping
oh how adorable! i raised my octavia from a deino as well. some breeder thought she'd be worthless in battle since her IVs weren't perfect, but i'd say she's a well established battler -- i hope whoever released her sees her in a competitive match one day and thinks of her as ~the one that got away~
hydreigons' bad rep only increased after ghetsis was seen using one, but i hope they get the love they deserve eventually. i won't go around recommending them to beginner trainers of course; i wouldn't have raised octavia if i hadn't imprinted onto her but with proper care and affection, they are extremely loyal partners who just happen to pack a punch in battle if that's your thing!
to anyone curious about various misunderstandings about the hydreigon line (and other research done to demystify dragon types) i highly reccommend a. rinea's Slaying Beowulf. i'm in the process of writing up a few key notes i gleaned from his book, but it's a fun and enlightening read!

Here they are! Ace and Deuce, the double duo, plus Jack also... who is just not a dino but a very big wolf
Ace is a menace who kept attacking me while I was trying to tame him, Jack was easy to tame because I knocked him out
Deuce? Deuce I stole from his family. Because that's the only way to tame a Deino. I grapped the egg and made a run for it with Jade

hello friend i am so fuciking excited, i recently convinced some of my friends to play pokemon dnd with me based on the pmd games and I am l i v i n g... our current party is a froakie, klefki, zorua, and a deino and im so excited for our sessions to start- ive been actively puttin out ideas for just little things right now n i think our dm has been takin notes so i am so so so excited!!!

Ooh, now I’m intrigued. :) I’ve always thought someone in the group needed an Absol to warn them of danger, much like a PKE meter would.
:O I LOVE THIS IDEA!!! That never even crossed my mind. That is brilliant! Whose team would Absol be on? Abby’s because she uses the PKE meter? Holtz’s because she brought the PKE meter to life? Or would Absol be more like a fifth member of the Ghostbusters instead of belonging to any one of them?
Since Black and White was set in a fictional Manhattan, I stuck mostly with that generation of pokemon for the team. I also replaced Erin’s ghost encounter with an Ultra beast encounter (probably Nihalgo and everyone told her it was just a harmless Drifloon). But they thought the Ultra Beasts were new types of ghosts so everyone has at least one dark type pokemon on their team (which Absol fits obvs being a dark type -- OMG THIS IS SO PERFECT). Beyond that, these teams are very much not balanced for battle lol I prioritized characterization over balanced parties.
Abby:
Pansage (her starter that she caught herself instead of being gifted it like all the cool kids)
Seedot (Shiftry is a cryptid. Fight me on it.)
Tympole (Seismitoad is also a cryptid. These pokemon are considered super ugly and weird by everyone but Abby loves them to death)
Vullaby (female-only bird that wears the bones of its enemies is so hardcore lesbian that Abby has to have this pokemon)
Deino (Abby is definitely patient enough to raise a dragon pokemon)
Giratina (THIS IS WHERE I CHEAT, BEAR WITH ME. Abby and Holtz’s investigations eventually crossed paths with Giratina, the ghost/dragon legendary themself. Giratina was impressed with them and often visits/helps them out when needed. Abby claims Giratina is friends with both her and Holtz -- and it is -- but it’s also clear that Giratina has a deeper bond with Abby. THIS IS MY ONLY LEGENDARY IN THEIR PARTIES. LET ME HAVE THIS.)
Erin:
Oshowott (her parents bought her her first starter -- she’s an only child of a middle class family, they could afford the local starters. It did not help Erin fit in with her peers, but she adores the little water otter anyway)
Munna (found Erin one night when she was having anxiety nightmares about the school bullying. Munna stuck around and ate any of her bad dreams so Erin could at least sleep peacefully.)
Inkay (badass psychic/dark pokemon perfectly suited to taking down Drifloons and Gastlys and anyone else picking on defenseless 8 year old children. Also its Topsy-Turvy/Foul Play movesets reverses any advantages the playground bullies might have had in battle -- this did not increase Erin’s popularity at school though)
Rufflet (the in-game, male-only counterpoint to Vullaby. Abby and Erin caught their birds together while roaming their town for ghosts in high school. T_T)
Porygon (a free gift at one of the physics conferences Erin attended early in her career. Holtz definitely upgrades them later - in fact Holtz might even invent a third upgrade beyond Porygon-Z that proves a big help in the final battle.)
Eevee (Established in her career, Erin can afford the dog pokemon of her dreams. She’s tempted by the imported Rockruff everyone’s raving over, but ultimately sticks with the Eevee she’s been dreaming of since she was small. When she can’t decide what to evolve Eevee into or if she should even evolve them, Eevee decides for her and evolves into Sylveon.)
Patty:
Azurill (Patty’s first starter was also a water baby <3 She grew up in the city so close to both rivers and ocean and yet so far away from actual beaches and water. Her party leans heavy on “cute” and pokemon who evolve through friendship.)
Ciniccino (there were headcanons floating around that Patty’s daemon would be either a chinchilla or a sugar glider which I 100% support)
Emolga (Black and White gen pokemon; pure adorableness. There’s a secondary flying theme in Patty’s team that I can’t explain. It’s like Erin trending towards pink pokemon. IDK how, but it happened.)
Woobat (found while working in the subway. Patty fell in love with it’s little heart shaped nose. They like to fly alongside Emolga -- even though Emolga glides more than flies, but shh don’t tell them that. Woobat also evolves via friendship.)
Sableye (Patty’s sole dark type pokemon. Also discovered in the subway tunnels. Sableye works right alongside Patty in the booth and is super skilled at finding valuables people accidentally leave behind. They find a shiny stone one day that Ciniccino swipes which is how Patty gets a Miniccino.)
Archen (Patty dreamed of owning her own revived fossil pokemon one day -- how could the history buff not? Finally, she had enough saved and picked out Archen after falling in love with its bright colors.)
Holtzmann:
Chikorita ([this assumes both a. Holtz’s family were at least upper middle class and had money and b. that her family rejected her for her sexuality and gender presentation.] Her parents opted to import the most girly starter pokemon they could think of in the hopes that it would have an impact on Holtzmann. Holtz loved her grass baby but it did nothing to change her personality.)
Rotom (the ghost pokemon who can inhabit machines, this is a given for Holtz’s team. Rotom was Holtz’s right hand pokemon all through school and continues to play a big role as she develops their ghost ultra beast-busting technologies.)
Zigzagoon (instead of going full mad scientist/inventor with Holtz, I leaned into her dumpster diving ways. Zigzagoon’s Pickup ability makes it a great partner in dumpster diving, plus it’s inability to run in a straight line makes it a misfit Holtz can relate to)
Burmy (added to the team either when Holtz was young or after moving to the city when Holtz finds a full grown Burmadon searching a dumpster for food. Not sure, but when it’s grown, it definitely is in its Trash Cloak form.)
Zorua (found during one of those dumpster diving excursions. They were disguised as a hissing wild Persian when Holtz first sees them, but as soon as Ziggy bops it on the nose, the camouflage ended and a shivering, frightened Zorua was revealed. Holtz promptly adopted them as her own.)
Alolan Grimer (someone in NYC imported an Alolan Grimer because they were “exotic” and allegedly didn’t smell like traditional grimers. Whoever it was misread the fine print because Alolan Grimers still give off some odors, especially when they’re thrown in a big polluted city like New York. The poor Grimer was promptly dumped by their original owners, and Holtz later found them lost in an alleyway. Obviously, she brings them home with her too. She basically just adopts all the strays.)
