also slowly turning around in my brain how rose said she was going to stay with the doctor forever, and then later donna says the same thing (to martha!! the doctor doesnt even hear or know!!! it would make him so happy but hurt him so much if he did!!!!!!), and then when she tells the doctor shes going home in sontaran stratagem he immediately assumes it means shes leaving him for good and accepts it but also launches into all the things he still wanted to show her.
and i know its played for a joke like haha silly martian thats not what i meant! but this is the same man who, when he needed to turn human, loved someone SO DEEP AND HARD that he didnt think he'd ever fall in love again. ever. even with his memory erased. so when you take that moment of "oh you're just popping home for a visit" and like ACTUALLY look at it you're like. this man gets so so so attached to people, and is so incredibly scarred by losing these people he loves that he has no choice but to let them go when they want to leave on good terms, because he knows how bad it could get for them if they stay, no matter how much he wants them to stay.
anyway donna's forever and rose's forever are just different flavors of the same "i need you as much as you need me, so im in it for the long haul, bad stuff included" and its chefs kiss

also while we're talking about Sirius and Regulus--
it bothers me so much when the Black siblings are (whether its done consciously or sub-consciously) split into Sirius-Andromeda-Regulus and Narcissa-Bellatrix instead of Sirius-Andromeda and Narcissa-Bellatrix-Regulus.
Regulus is not a runaway, he is not disowned, his relationship with his parents and family was different from Sirius'.
Placing him with Andromeda and Sirius simply for the Horcrux thing would be equivalent to putting Narcissa with them for turning on Voldemort - it makes. no. sense.
Narcissa did not turn on Voldemort in spite of her family, she turned on him because of it. Because of the Black family values. Because of the Black pride. Because of the Black "we are above everyone and practically royalty" attitude.
I feel like today (especially since the rise of Jegulus' popularity) a lot of the fandom reached a point where Regulus is basically just Sirius but a softer version of him, and people just take some qualities that are obviously Sirius' and give them to Regulus instead, completely disregarding his own character arc?
Let Regulus Black be the morally grey character he is. Let him be a good, obedient son. Let him be a pure-blooded, snobbish heir. A terrorist turned traitor because he realized the man he was following is a fraud. Let him learn how to throw daggers with Bellatrix and discuss politics over tea with Narcissa. Let him be a Black.

"I—I've been sick my whole life. And I've felt ashamed of that. I tried to hide it. I think that’s what the mask really was. Another way to hide. But I don't want to hide anymore. I don't want to be ashamed anymore. I just want to be me."
