30, for buddie please?
hi anon ❤️ thank you for the prompt! exhaustion got to me so it took me a little while to write it, but I hope you like it!
from the soft prompts: ‘this is my husband/wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/partner etc.’
Eddie never really figured out how to introduce Ana as his girlfriend without feeling awkward. It didn't surprise him at the time, because he'd felt the same about introducing Shannon as his wife, for a long time, at least.
So he'd always assumed that was kind of the norm. That he'd always feel awkward introducing his partner, or that maybe that's how most people feel doing that, even.
In hindsight, that was a stupid thing to assume, probably.
The point is that when he and Buck start dating - and holy shit, they're actually dating - he expects it to be as awkward as it's always been. Perhaps even more awkward, considering that yes, this is Buck, but he's also never dated a guy before. He's never introduced anyone to his boyfriend before.
(Well, that's not entirely true, but those were all people that already knew Buck. It wasn't so much introducing Buck as it was telling those people that they were dating now.)
And then comes the PTA meeting.
Eddie doesn't particularly like PTA meetings, they are long and boring and half the shit that gets discussed is pretty much trivial. He goes anyway because he cares about his son's education, and it's polite to show his face and interact with the other parents.
He doesn't expect Buck to see it on the calendar on the fridge, turn to him with a bright but somewhat hesitant smile, and ask: "Can I come with?"
"Yeah, of course," Eddie answers without even having to think about it for too long. It'll be much more fun with Buck by his side.
The realization that he's going to have to introduce Buck to all these parents - at least the ones that haven't met him before - doesn't cross his mind until they're already getting out of the car in the school parking lot.
It's probably a good thing that it doesn't, or he would’ve been all up in his head about it. As it is, he freezes right there next to the car, watching couples and single parents alike make their way into the school.
"You alright?" Buck's voice sounds, suddenly right next to him. He must have walked around the car while Eddie was lost in thought. Buck's hand slips into his, tangling their fingers together.
"I'm fine, just thinking. C'mon, let's go."
He pulls Buck along to the school entrance, greeting some parents he vaguely recognizes along the way. Once inside, they follow the directions to the gym, and it's only when they're there that Eddie finally pauses. His hand is still wrapped tightly around Buck's, and he has no intention of letting go, but that also means that someone is going to notice.
"Eddie, hi!" someone says, and he turns around too quickly, pulling Buck along and making him stumble a bit. See, there's the awkwardness already. It's Katie's mom, Jennifer, who Eddie has talked to on multiple occasions. He's pretty sure she tried to flirt with him in the beginning, though he isn't sure why she stopped. "I see you've brought someone along this time?"
This is usually where it gets awkward, where Eddie stutters out an introduction and embarrasses himself and his partner in the process.
But this time he follows Jennifer's gaze to look at Buck, and he finds Buck smiling at him, soft and so damn happy, as if there's nowhere he'd rather be than here at this PTA meeting with Eddie, and it's not awkward at all.
"Yeah, this is my boyfriend, Buck," Eddie replies, only taking his eyes off Buck at the end of it, and he pulls Buck a little closer as he smiles at Jennifer. "Figured it wasn't fair that he's only been getting the fun parts of raising a kid now that we finally got our shit together."
He and Jennifer both laugh at the indignant squawk Buck lets out at that, and Eddie only grins wider when he stumbles because of the little shove Buck gives him with his shoulder. It's not as if he's in any danger of falling when they're still holding hands, and as soon as he's stabilized himself again, he's pressed right back along Buck's side.
Buck is grinning, too, when Eddie looks at him, and he allows himself a moment to get lost in his boyfriend's eyes. Turns out that didn't feel awkward at all, it simply felt right.
"Just kidding, we both know you've been helping with the less fun parts all this time, too." He pauses for a moment, then turns back to Jennifer. "Now, Jen, have you heard any good gossip lately?"
Next to him, Buck snorts, and Eddie is going to get teased later for caring about gossip in the first place, but he's pretty sure that his boyfriend listens just as attentively while Jennifer tells them of the rumor she heard about two of the teachers hooking up.

He Was a Boy, She Was a Girl
Summary: Sam has never been the most reliable neighbour- but will he have your back when the opportunity arises?
Content warnings: Fluff with the tiniest bit of smut at the end
WC: 2.4k
Sam Monroe was nothing if not an asshole. If the mailman mistakenly delivered only one newspaper, he would rush out to make sure he was the first to get it. If you were studying and asked him to turn the music down, he’d crank it up to full volume until the walls vibrated. The one time you were sick and couldn’t wheel the garbage out to the end of the road, he laughed at your plea for help, kicking the piled-up bin on his way out. What’s more, he came over again later just to complain about the smell while you answered the door wrapped up in your duvet, sniffling through your painfully reddened nose.
There was no doubt whatsoever that Sam was a self-centred, lazy, abrasive boy. You’d learned long ago that if you wanted something done, he was not the neighbour to ask. So why were you so obsessed with him?
Maybe it was his steely cold good looks or the way he endlessly teased you that got you hooked but one thing was certain- he would never like someone like you.
Or at least that’s what you thought. Though the bravado he put on was impressively convincing, behind the layers of angst and attitude was a boy who had been smitten with you for years. He’d observed you closely since you were kids; your bedroom windows were parallel to each other and you weren’t too fond of closing your curtains. How could he not fall for you when you left taped-up paper notes for him on the glass, signing every message off with a heart? He’d roll his eyes and shut the blinds in response but a smile would creep up on his face once he was out of sight.
That’s just the way you were, tooth-rottingly sweet and resiliently kind despite his many attempts to enforce a distance between you. But you gave your kindness out to everyone- he could tell by the way you chirped “Good morning!” to the whole street and the wide grin that was always plastered on your angelic face.
Yes, it was clear as day that your brightness was not reserved for him, which is why he was decidedly careful not to mistake your warm-hearted nature for something more.
He didn’t see the way you baked your cookies just for him, swapping out the chocolate chips for raisins because you knew he preferred those even though you couldn’t stand them. He didn’t know that your beaming smile was only there because he’d crawled out of his room long enough for you to catch a glimpse of him that day. Just like you didn’t know that there was no smell coming from the bins that day, he just needed an excuse to see you were okay.
“Sam! Come on, open the door. I know you’re in there.” You sighed, tapping your foot impatiently outside his house.
“What?” He huffed, opening up with half-lidded eyes and his usual boorish demeanour.
“There you are, I’ve been knocking for all of ten minutes. Brad needs a flat nut tool for his guitar and I thought it sounded like something you’d have.”
“Brad?” He raised his eyebrow. “That Neanderthal has taken up playing?”
“He wants to be a guitar tech.” You chewed on your bottom lip, his scrutinising glare piercing into you.
“And he can’t buy his own tools?” Sam turned around and walked off into his room with you trailing closely behind.
“He says he forgot to buy this one.” You shrug.
“Well too bad, I’m not loaning my best tool to a guy that forgets to turn up to his own finals exam.”
“That was one time!” You defended him though you weren’t entirely sure why.
“One time too many.” He lands back into his unmade bed with a soft thud. “You know he wants to fuck you, right?”
“Brad? No way.” You shake your head fervently.
“Oh, yes. He’s pretending to be your friend, taking you out to all these parties, just waiting for an opportunity for you to let your guard down.”
“You’re too paranoid, Sam. I mean, honestly. Not every guy wants to get in my pants. I mean, you should know. You can barely tolerate me.” You chuckle mirthlessly, hoping in vain that he would refute your claim.
“Yeah. I suppose.” He clears his throat and sinks deeper into his duvet, awkward energy filling the air.
“Well, I’ll be on my way. Sorry for bothering you.” You turn on your heel.
“Bye.” He grunts as you make your way out of the house.
In hindsight, what you’d asked of him was embarrassingly silly and you knew he’d never agree- but you would take any excuse to talk to him, even if the conversation was uncomfortable.
As you strolled the few steps it took to reach your home next door, you saw Brad standing by your porch.
“Hey there, gorgeous.” He smirked, opening his arms to pull you in for a hug.
“Brad?” You hugged back confusedly. “What are you doing here?”
“Do I need a reason to see a friend?” He quipped disingenuously.
“Uh, I guess not. I asked Sam about the flat nut but he doesn’t have one.” Your gaze wandered to Sam’s bedroom window, which faced out to your porch.
“The what? Oh, that. Ah man, that really sucks!” He slapped his leg insincerely.
“Yeah…I should be going now, thanks for stopping by.” You try to shake him off but he steps in front of the door before you can enter.
“Woah, woah, wait. Saying bye so soon? But I came all this way.” He cocks his head and you feel the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
“That’s why you should’ve called first.” You try to sidestep but he grips his broad hands on your shoulders, holding you in place.
“Don’t be rude.” He warns, beady eyes darkening.
“Get your hands off me!” You slap him across the face and wriggle out of his grasp, pushing him aside to run into the house. You slam the door shut, locking every bolt and key you have before peering out the peephole to ensure he’d left; he trudged down the porch muttering curses under his breath until he was out of view. Sliding your back down the door and bringing your knees close, you exhaled a shaky breath. Sam was right.
“Hey, hold up!” Sam shouted as he ran out of his front door to catch up with Brad, who had just passed his front yard.
“The hell do you want?” He grumbled, stopping for a moment to observe the scrawny, pale specimen marching towards him. “I don’t actually need the damn flat nut.”
“Oh, this isn’t about the tool.” He chuckled, giving himself no time to think about how much taller or broader his opponent was before his arm reared back and he punched Brad square in the jaw, knocking him down to the concrete pavement.
“You come near her again, I swear to God. I’ll show you what flat nuts look like.” Sam spat, enraged by what he’d seen unfold through his window.
“The hero act is adorable. It really is.” Brad wheezed. “But she’ll never want you.”
“If you so much as look at her again, I will put you in the fucking ground.” Sam recoiled venomously, adrenaline and fury pumping through his veins.
Before being tempted to do something more drastic, he paced over to your front door, giving himself a moment to diffuse before ringing the doorbell.
“Hey. You okay?” He asked breathily once you answered.
“Quickly, come in.” You ushered him in and looked both ways before locking the door securely behind you. “You were right, Sam. He tried making a move on me! And he wasn’t best pleased when I didn’t play along.”
“What an idiot.” Sam shook his head disapprovingly as your eyes filled with tears. “Oh come on, don’t cry. You know I don’t know how to deal with that.”
“Sorry.” You winced, wiping them away immediately as he scratched the back of his head, a conflicted expression painted across his face.
“Why are you here?” You sniffled, remembering you forgot to ask.
“Oh, um, I- I came to ask if you wanted to get some ice cream.” He declared somewhat unconvincingly, subtly scanning you to make sure you were unharmed.
“You? Want to get ice cream with me?” Your eyes stopped watering at the thought.
“I’m craving some, why not bring you along? It’s a nice day and there’s an ice cream truck parked right down the road.” He gulped, hoping you wouldn’t question his out-of-character behaviour.
“O-okay.” You nodded, chest feeling lighter at the thought of a strawberry scoop.
“Come on then, slowpoke, out you get.” He opened the door and swung his arm out.
“Coming.” You chuckled, Sam’s teasing instantly brightening your mood.
He guided you down the road, thankful the truck was in the opposite direction to the block he’d had his scuffle with Brad.
Halting before the white van, you observed the myriad of flavours on display and pondered.
“We’ll have one cone with vanilla and one with rum and raisin, please.” Sam announced to the balding ice cream man before you could interject. He swiftly scooped up the creamy spread and gave it to you both, eyebrows furrowed at the scrunched-up 5 dollar note Sam handed him in return.
You gulped at the brown-mauve lump, not wanting to appear ungrateful but struggling to hide your displeasure.
“You love raisins, right? You put them in all your cookies.” Sam sucked at his melting white scoop and you glared enviously.
“Of course, yeah.” You muttered as convincingly as you could before licking a stripe up the unappetising glob, careful to avoid any rogue raisins.
“How is it?” He asked earnestly.
“Amazing. So tasty. Wanna try?” You nudged the cone his way but he shook his head.
“I’ll stick to my boring vanilla.” He winked before taking a crispy bite out of the wafer.
Using strategic nibbles, you could stomach the flavour of the rum by swallowing it whole before the sickly taste had time to disperse. The raisins, however, were a different kind of challenge. Whenever Sam looked away, you took the opportunity to quickly pick the morsels off and toss them to the ground. He was too lost in his usual grumbling, heightened by the excitement with Brad, to pay any notice. Finishing the last of your cone with a sigh of relief, a shiver coursed through your body.
“You cold?” Sam nudged your shoulder against his own.
“A little.” You shrugged, acting like it was the weather and not the monstrosity you’d just ingested causing your goosebumps.
“I didn’t bring anything.” He tutted, stopping in his tracks. “Let me run back and get you something.”
“No, Sam, it’s fine-“
“It’ll only take a minute.” He interrupted, already jogging back towards the house as you took a seat on a nearby bench. It was pointless arguing with him.
Sam retrieved a black fleeced hoodie from his coat rack and quickly paced his way back, not wanting to keep you waiting. As he caught up with you, he noticed a trail of little brown lumps scattered across the pavement, each fleck spaced a couple metres apart. Squinting, he peered closely until the details came into focus. Are those raisins?
Somewhat carelessly, Sam tossed the hoodie in your direction and you grabbed it with a grateful nod. You draped it over yourself with a contented hum, the warmth of his scent enveloping you.
“Thanks.” You smiled gratefully.
“No problem.” He sat down besides you, keeping a small distance. “Let’s play a game.”
“What kinda game?” You cocked your head curiously.
“One of those rapid fire ones. I ask short questions and you have to say yes or no really quickly.” He explained with a faint smirk.
“Okay, hit me!” You slapped your palms against your thighs excitedly.
“Alright. Is pink your favourite colour?”
“Yes.”
“Do you love roses?”
“Yes.”
“Do you like Brad?”
“No.”
“Is today a Saturday?”
“Yes.”
“Do you love me?”
“Yes.”
As soon as the word left your lips, your breath hitched and your mind began racing with ways you could take it back. Sam smirked and shuffled back on the bench, spreading his legs apart and resting his hands behind his head.
“Is that so?” He raised an eyebrow, clearly taking pleasure in your humiliation.
“As a friend. As a neighbour!” You interjected frantically.
“Don’t try to backtrack now. You love me.” He laughed, shoving you playfully as you dropped your head into your hands, keen to hide your reddening face. “Why did I find a trail of raisins leading up to here, huh?”
You raised your head to meet his gaze, now softened and sincere.
“I hate raisins.” You mumbled.
“And you put them in all your cookies because?”
“I knew you liked them.”
“I thought as much.” He hummed, his suspicions confirmed.
“Look, Sam- it’s a really stupid crush, I’ll get over it, I promise. This doesn’t have to change anything, right?” You whined desperately.
“Of course it does. It changes everything.” He shook his head.
“What? No, Sam, please-“
“Now I can finally do what I’ve been wanting to for years.” He turned to face you, Adam’s apple bobbing with apprehension.
“Wh-what? Wait, Sam-” You quietened, shrinking into nothing as he drew closer.
“Shut up.” He grasped your jaw firmly and you melted into his touch as he grazed his bottom lip against yours. “Enough talking.”
Your whimpering was swallowed by the plump pink lips that enveloped your own, fingers tangled into your hair as he kissed you in a way that made you feel his years of longing. The soft, wet flesh smacked messily and filled your chest with an aching desire, unlike anything you’d experienced before. Strings of drool connected your lips as you pulled away reluctantly for breath.
“You’re a good kisser.” You panted breathlessly, blissfully unaware of your surroundings or the judgemental glares you’d been getting from passers-by.
“Come back to mine and I’ll show you what else I’m good at.” He smirked, wiping the spit off his deliciously swollen lips.
You wanted to play modest but you knew there was no use resisting- by the end of the night, you’d be bent over his unmade bed, scrunching up the sheets with balled-up fists and moaning out his name as he mercilessly moulded himself into your squishy guts.
You couldn’t wait.

Mr. Mailman | Natasha Romanoff
Summary: Natasha has a crush on the mailman :)
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x Male Reader
Warnings: Mild language
Word Count: 1.7K
Masterlist
A/N: This was an anon request. Enjoy!
Tumblr media
“What’s wrong with her?” Sam asked as he watched Natasha forlornly stir her coffee while staring out the window.
“She’s upset Y/N won’t notice her,” Yelena explained.
“Shut up,” Nat snapped, shaking her head and snapping herself out of her fantasy.
“I’m not wrong.  You’ve had his eye on him ever since he first showed up!”
“I said shut up!” While her tone was harsh, the blush creeping across her face told a different story.  It was true.  Natasha Romanoff, normally the stoic, unattached assassin, had a crush.
From the first day Y/N L/N stepped foot on the Avengers’ compound as the new Stark Industries delivery driver, Natasha was absolutely smitten.  She didn’t know what it was.  Maybe it was the way his biceps bulged as he pulled the truck full of packages through the loading dock.  Or maybe it was the flourish he used flipping the clipboard back to the dock manager after signing the package transfer.  But truth be told it was the way he glanced up from the clipboard and smiled at Natasha the first day he saw her.  Ever since then she used every excuse in the book to be at the loading dock or mailroom whenever he was there.
******
You never anticipated that your first job after college would be a delivery driver for Stark Industries, but here you were.  While it wasn’t the office job you anticipated, driving the delivery truck was actually pretty cool.  Getting to step foot on the Avengers compound every day was cool.  Having Tony Stark as your boss was cool.  Sneaking a glance at Natasha Romanoff whenever you could?  Cool isn’t the exact word you’d use for that.
The first time you laid eyes on Nat was your first day of work.  You were signing for some packages that were being transferred from the compound to the main site when she walked by.  She was passing through, on her way to some other location.  All you did was look at her and smile.  She flashed a quick grin in your general direction before speeding off.  That was the last time she actually made eye contact with you, but it wasn’t the last time you saw her.  Most days she was either in the mailroom or the loading dock whenever you got there.  No words were exchanged between the two of you, but she was always there.  Sometimes you sensed her looking at you, but she quickly glanced away when you looked over at her.
Natasha was gorgeous, there was no doubt about that.  You never missed an opportunity to steal a quick glance whenever she passed by.  But you were always too scared to actually strike up a conversation with her.  She was the Black Widow: something about asking one of the world’s fiercest assassins out for coffee intimidated you.  There was always the slight risk that an unwanted advance would end in your assassination.  So you kept your distance for reasons of personal safety…or that’s what you told yourself.
******
“As the resident expert on waiting too long, don’t.”
“Drop it, Steve,” Nat chided.  “I don’t even like him.”
“Oh, that’s a lie if I’ve ever heard one,” Steve chuckled, dodging the coffee cup that came flying at his head.  “It’s okay if you like him!  I’ve talked to him a few times and he’s a nice guy.”
“No.  No, it’s not okay.  I wouldn’t know what to do if he liked me back…” she trailed off.
“You go out for coffee.  You talk, you get to know each other.”
“Steve I…I’ve never actually dated anyone before!” Natasha blurted.  Red crept up her cheeks as she finally admitted the one truth she never spoke aloud.  The only other person who knew the truth was Yelena and even she was sworn to secrecy.
“What?”
“I know how to seduce people.  That’s part of the job and I do it well.  But it’s just the job.  I’ve never done it for real.”
“Come on, you’re kidding.  What about Connor?” Steve was shocked at the revelation.  He set his coffee cup down on the counter and rubbed his beard as he stared at Natasha.
“That was a cover for the joint mission with MI6.”
“Lillian?”
“SHIELD mission.”
“David from Accounting?”
“Daniel.  Just sex.”
Steve didn’t say anything: he just stared.  Natasha glanced at her feet, kicking the ground in front of her as an awkward tension spread over the room.  She wanted the ground to open up and swallow her whole just to get her out of such an uncomfortable situation.
“Nat-”
“No one’s going to want to go out with a woman who’s never been on a date before,” Natasha replied tersely.  She gulped the lump that was slowly creeping up her throat as she once again swallowed her pride.
It’s not that she didn’t want to eventually partner up with someone, in fact it was quite the opposite.  After so many years of excuses, she just figured it would never happen to her.  The possibility of something finally working out scared her.  Natasha worried she wouldn’t know what to do.  Sex was one thing.  That was transactional, something both parties rendered knowing there weren’t any strings attached.  Intimacy?  That involved being vulnerable and saying how you felt.  After so many years living so many lies Natasha wasn’t sure she was capable of such openness.
“You’ll never know unless you try,” Steve encouraged, placing a hand on her shoulder.
“Cut the bullshit, Steve,” Natasha snapped as she shook his hand from her body.  “We both know it’s not that simple.”
“It is with the right guy.”
******
Should be good after this last trip, you thought to yourself as you pushed the overflowing mail cart down the winding hallway toward the mailroom.  It was cold and rainy, a miserable day to be on the road, and all you wanted was to get out of there, drive the truck back to the city, and head to your apartment in Queens.  All that was left was sorting the mail and putting it in the right mailboxes.
The mailroom was a convoluted maze of boxes, bins, tubes, and chutes.  Everything had a specific spot and it was easy to mess up at first.  Once you got the hang of it, sorting everything out wasn’t too bad.  What once took over an hour only took you twenty or so minutes now.  Plopping the cart down in front of the mailboxes, you got to work stuffing envelopes, packages, and postcards where they belonged.  The work was mindless, meditative almost.  Once you got into the rhythm of it your brain shut off and muscle memory took over.  Today you were so in the zone that you didn’t notice the redhead walk into the room behind you, so when you turned around the shock of realizing you weren’t alone made you drop your armful of envelopes.
“Oh great,” you muttered, stooping down to pick up the papers.
“Here, let me-”
“No, it’s fine-”
“No, it’s my fault.  Let me help you.”
You watched as the redhead knelt down in front of you, raking papers toward herself.  It was the first time you were ever that close to Natasha Romanoff.  A more looming, intimidating figure in your mind, she was surprisingly smaller and less threatening up close and in sweatpants.  If you didn’t know any better, you wouldn’t even know that she’s a trained assassin.  She was so unobtrusive, so inconspicuous.  She was also so, so incredibly beautiful.
“Sorry, I didn’t realize that you were in here,” you sheepishly apologized as you stared down at the red ponytail that was flopping back and forth.
“I have a bad habit of sneaking up on people,” Natasha admitted.
“Understandable,” you chuckled.  Natasha gave a slight smile as she handed you some envelopes.  God her eyes were the brightest green you’d ever seen.  You grabbed the envelopes from her, holding onto them and locking eyes with her for far too long.  Suddenly realizing you were actually a human being on earth currently existing in the moment, you cleared your throat abruptly and looked down at the letters.
“A lot of mail today,” Natasha mumbled.  She snapped her head toward the mailbox, trying to hide the redness spreading over her cheeks.  “Are you always this busy?”
“Uhhh, no.  Not always.  Normally it’s not this bad.  Did y’all collectively decide that today was the best day to order from Amazon?”
“That’s either Bucky or Yelena.  My sister’s always buying stuff she doesn’t need and Bucky loves the novelty of next-day delivery.  I think it’s that whole ‘born over a hundred years ago’ thing.”
“Funny.  Most of these packages are for you,” you teased, thrusting a stack of envelopes in her direction.
“What on earth?” Natasha fumbled the packages, completely confused as to why she had so many packages when she didn’t remember ordering anything.  You watched as her eyes furrowed in utter confusion.  Her bewilderment was equally amusing and adorable.  “This has to be some sort of mistake.”
“I just deliver the mail, ma’am,” you replied.
“And make me feel old, Mr. Mailman.  You can call me Natasha.”
“It’s Y/N, but you can call me Mr. Mailman if that makes you feel better.”
“How about I just call you instead?” Natasha blurted without realizing what she was saying.
“What?”
The second she realized what she just said, Natasha became totally overwhelmed with embarrassment. “Sorry, I shouldn’t have said that,” she mumbled, brushing a strand of hair out of her face.  “I’ll just-thanks for the packages.  Have a good weekend.”  She scrambled to pick up what she could before making a beeline for the door.
“Natasha, wait!” you heard yourself calling.  “Please just wait, please, ummm…”  She paused, still looking down at her packages as she faced away from you.  “Umm, coffee?  I mean, d’you want to get coffee?  Not right now, I’ve still gotta get the truck back to the city.  But maybe tomorrow?  Or I can do Sunday if tomorrow doesn’t work.  Basically whenever you’re free I can clear my schedule.  If you want.  No pressure.”
“Alright.”
“Sooooo tomorrow then?”
“Yeah.  Tomorrow.”  She glanced behind herself, shooting you a half grin that she was failing to stop from becoming a full on smile.
“Cool.  Great.  Awesome.  Yeah, see you tomorrow,” you replied, totally breathless and in shock at the situation.  A coffee date with Natasha Romanoff…what could go wrong?

"I've never seen you around here. Who are you?" Asked the little man
This one was a little smaller than me. He had yellow skin and wearing colorful pants along with a blue cardigan, a white shirt, and a red scarf tied around his neck, but what stood out the most about him was his blue Presley-style pompadour. Something in me told me that I knew him but I didn't know from where with an appearance like that he should be easy to remember.
"Where am I?" was the only thing that came out of my mouth.
"Home" His voice was soft and calm.
"Home?" I asked confused, I looked around and saw him again.
"You don´t answer my question"
"...Jolly, my name is Jolly"
"Nice to meet you, Jolly" He responded with a smile "Tell me, How long have you moved to this town?"
"No, I´m just passing through. I'm a...a visitor"
"A visitor?" He asked confused
We both remained silent as we looked at each other, it had become a tense and uncomfortable atmosphere, I could even be sure that at one point his gaze faded.
"What do you think if I introduce you to the other neighbors?" He asked briskly and before answering he took my hand and led me towards that group. For someone his size he had a certain strength, the closer we got the others stood up and looked toward us remaining like the little man in silence with a smile plastered on his face.
"Hi neighbors"
He waved and the others automatically moved normally.
"Hi, Wally!" said the blonde girl with small orange horns. Wally? That name echoed in my mind.
"Who is your new friend?" asked the blue dog with the hat.
"Her name is Jolly"
"...oh, hi" I introduced myself
"Dear, what happened to you? It seems like you're hurt?" The big bird asked in a motherly and worried tone.
"It's nothing, I just…got dirty while…looking for my friend" I responded with a somewhat awkward smile as I let go of Wally's grip.
"Your friends?" Asked the sun-headed girl "Where are your friends?"
"For now...I don't know but I have to go look for them, it was a pleasure to have met them" I said scratching the back of my head, I hoped that this way would free me from that encounter but suddenly:
GROOOWWWWW
That sound seemed to have silenced everyone else…I didn't know my stomach could be so noisy, in fact, I didn't know I had a stomach.
The dog laughed and said:
"Looks like someone is hungry"
"It's almost time. How about you stay and eat with us and then you can go look for your friends?" the big bird suggested.
"Yes, stay! Poppy's cooking is so tasty" said the girl with the horns.
"You should also try their cookies, they are incredibly delicious!" said the man dressed as a mailman.
Poppy answered:
"Guys, you flatter me, I only cook because of the love I have for you" She laughed shyly.
"So, will you stay?"
I turn to look.
"I guess I can't leave on an empty stomach" I replied
I couldn't trust this place but I didn't have much choice at that time.
"Very good," Poppy said.
Everyone was happy except the gray guy. They began to move from one place to another so they could organize a cookout. I watched as the dog carried a table, and the postman and his partner brought the chairs. The girls along with Wally cutlery.
Poppy walked inside the red house that reminded me of a barn, I just stood still while I watched everyone put everything in its place.
"Dear, can you help me with this?" Poppy asked me from a distance.
When I arrived she handed me a covered green saucepan that smelled pretty good.
"Go and put it on the table" She turned me around and with a light touch of her wings she gave me a push. I walked around and most of the things were already on the table. I noticed the only thing missing were the drinks to accompany our meal but then a rather tall man arrived and shouted with joy:
"I brought the drinks!"
When I saw him, I noticed that in his four arms, he was carrying several bottles while he walked with his four legs, I had never seen someone like that, he seemed to be a kind of worm man unlike Warren, a worm I "met" in the pink house, Everyone sat at the table to eat, Wally sat next to me.
Today's meal was a kind of stew with seeds and its garnishes. Before taking the first bite I thought:
Wait a minute, can I eat? The whole time I've been awake I haven't thought about eating, but why can I do it now? Why did I feel hungry? I had to eat or else they would start questioning me even more, I returned to my plate and just watched, soon I felt as if my stomach wanted to eat itself. I picked up the fork again with a bite, put the piece of stew in my mouth and soon an explosion of flavors came towards me.
Tumblr media
I took another bite, and another, and another. Without realizing it, everything had ended for me.
"Wow, it looked like you were going to eat the plate too," the dog said jokingly
"I'm sorry for my bad manners but…it was very delicious"
"I'm very happy that you like my food so much, take a little more" Poppy said as she served me the same plate.
"Save room for dessert," said the sun-headed girl.
They laughed happily. The rest of the hour passed very pleasantly with conversations about the cheese pies and which one was the best, and I also knew the name of each one of them: the mailman and his partner were Eddie and Frank; the girl with the orange horns, Julie; the caterpillar man was Howdy; the sun-headed girl was Sally; the blue dog with a hat, Barnaby; the big colorful bird, poppy; and lastly, wally.
After clearing the table and leaving everything clean and in its place. I was grateful for the food and left to return the way I had come in the first place.
It calmed me a little to feel that they were not dangerous, one of the few encounters with beings that did not want to kill me.
I hadn't noticed it but the forest was full of trees that had leaves of all colors. I walked around the place leaving marks with the scissors to make a kind of guide so I wouldn't get lost if that were the case.
After a couple of minutes I realized something…
Nothing, there was nothing that gave me a hint of a route back to the pink house. I walked waiting for a change in the atmosphere, suddenly, my foot collided with something, when I looked down I could see that it was an orange cable, one of those that are long electrical extensions, I couldn't confuse it with anything else from that magical forest. When I touched it I felt its plasticized texture.
"This place is like the pink house," I said to myself with a grimace.
CRACK!
A branch had cracked behind me, and someone had followed me.
I firmly grabbed the scissors hidden under the cloak and said in a serious tone:
"come out of your hiding place"
I turned around looking around for any sign of my stalker and they didn't take me by surprise.
This must have been something from Lesley, it was clear that she was not going to let go of me easily. The hatred that woman had for me went beyond normal, she watched attentively, ready to fight against whatever wanted to kill me.
At that point I saw how some yellow spikes were sticking out of the bush: it was Sally accompanied by Julie and Wally.
When I saw them I sighed with exhaustion.
"What are you doing here?" I asked them a little more calmly but my irritation was evident.
They had told me that they were worried that I might have gotten lost in the lush forest.
"Besides, it's already starting to get dark and it can be quite dangerous," Sally said worriedly.
It was true, I looked up and saw that the sky had been painted in orange and violet tones.
"Thank you for worrying but I think I will be fine…I am strong... and I can look for a cave... or an empty log to sleep and continue my search in the morning"
For a second I noticed how Julie was frowning as if…
she was nervous
"That doesn't sound comfortable at all," she gave a small nervous laugh.
"How about you stay at my house? I have amazing soft pajamas…Oh! What if we have a sleepover?" She moved her hands with excitement.
"I don't know… I wouldn't want to make you uncomfortable" I kindly excused myself.
"On the contrary! I'm very happy to make a new friend" She was still in doubt if she should accept the offer.
"Don't worry, Julie doesn't bite…sometimes" Wally said with his soft smile.
I looked at everyone's faces and in the case of the girls they seemed to beg her to accept the offer, a fear like that couldn't be acted upon.
"…okay, I'll stay at your house tonight" I responded.
The girls got excited, Julie came over and took my hands. It seemed like stars were coming out of her eyes.
"We're going to have a lot of fun," she said with a smile that marked relief.
The four of us started walking back to the neighborhood, I was the last one watching as the rest led me. When we arrived the floras began to light up as the sky darkened.

Tumblr media
Price wasn't stupid. He has eyes and can notice when people slowly start to change.
Since they have moved into the little home in London for work under Laswell’s watchful eyes, their new neighbour has been nothing but a pleasant surprise. At first, it was fun you know? Oh look, we have a hot neighbour and she’s nice! Angel would sometimes be talked about when they were having dinner, the men casually talking about how her cat almost ruined her flowers and she shouted at her. Or how last Saturday she almost tripped and fell face first when taking out the trash, or how she gets her laundry from the garden wearing nothing but a stupid t-shirt and pair of underwear.
Price is a gentleman, he tries his best not to stare, not to let his eyes linger on her when she’s out and about or greets him when he’s smoking in the garden. But she’s so fucking pretty, it’s frustrating at this point, how she manages to make his breath stutter every time he sees her. She could be wearing an old Minnie Mouse t-shirt, a pair of shorts and yellow Crocs with gardening gloves, dirty and sweating under the sun and digging up weeds and Price would always get caught staring at her, his cigar forgotten between his fingers.
He feels like a teenager all over again. He’s not a virgin for fuck sake. And he had his fair share of hookups here and there along with (failed) relationships. But he still catches himself staring at her lips when she’s laughing at something Soap said, throwing her head back and screeching with laughter. And she seems to not mind his men’s antics, either.
She doesn’t ask about their scars, doesn’t comment on Ghost's clothing choices or how he wears a mask 24/7 and never asks why she should call him Ghost either. She never asked them intrusive questions, not even when they were comfortable, bellies full of wine and warm under the sun on random afternoons. Angel hasn’t made any of his men or himself uncomfortable, not even once, and that’s terrifying because it’s so easy to get comfortable and open with her. It makes him want to talk about things he only keeps to himself. She makes him want to sit and ramble about what he’d do once he’s old and retired, maybe he’ll buy a boat, or a house up north, or move to Spain or to Morocco.
One fine Tuesday, Price was sitting on the sofa, scrolling on his phone while Gaz was curled up next to him, reading a random webcomic on his phone when their doorbell rang.
Gaz frowned, looking up at Price, "Are we expecting someone, today?"
"No." Price shook his head.
"I'll get it!" Soap exclaimed, skipping 3 steps and jumping down the stairs, wearing a tank top and a pair of comfortable shorts with little dog-printed socks. Initially, Soap thought it must be one of his packages that came earlier than expected, but once he opened the door he realised it wasn't the mailman but their hot neighbour.
And she was absolutely soaked from head to toe, it was raining so hard outside that Soap accidentally got rain inside their house, wetting the floor under his feet
"I locked myself out. Can I please come in until the rain stops?" Angel asked, embarrassed and hair sticking to her neck and face.
"Holy shit, yeah, of course!" Soap quickly moved to the side, allowing her to step inside their warm house and locked the door behind her.
Angel stood there awkwardly, her clothes sticking to her skin as she shivered and looked at Soap with her wet eyelashes clumped together.
"What the hell happened to you?" Price said as soon as he saw her, sitting up properly.
"Got rained on, and uhm, I locked myself out," Angel said, squirming with embarrassment, her hands clutching the ends of her short skirt.
"Jesus…" He sighed and stood up, "Gaz, get her something to change into, and Soap, give her a towel and show her to the bathroom."
"You don't have to!" Angel quickly said, still dripping water next to their door, refusing to take a step in any direction.
Price gave her an unimpressed look, "Really? You're dripping water all over the floor and you'll get sick."
Angel pursed her lips and watched Price walk to the kitchen, turning on the kettle and preparing ginger tea for her.
Soap brought her a big towel, to wrap herself into and get to the bathroom, where Gaz handed her the smallest t-shirt he could find, a zip-up hoodie and a pair of shorts.
"I tried my best, I know none of this will fit but yeah-" Gaz mumbled, scratching the back of his neck and Angel smiled, shivering under the towel.
"Thank you, Gaz."
"No worries." He smiled and left her to change and dry up in the bathroom.
"Oh yeah," He stopped in his tracks and walked up to the bathroom's door, knocking twice, "Take a hot shower, you'll get warmer that way!"
"Okay!" Angel said behind the door, wrestling with her wet skirt to pull it down.
"Are you sure I need all of this?..." Angel asked, blowing on the mug containing the tea Price made her.
"Angel, shut up." Price sighed, sitting next to her on the sofa.
Angel was wrapped in a giant fluffy blanket, wearing military-grade warm socks, with a warm water bottle placed behind her back and a big mug of tea in her hands.
"Damn, alright…" Angel rolled her eyes and took a sip of her tea, feeling it warm her body from the inside out.
Gaz sat down next to Price, curling up next to him and this time grabbing the remote control, looking for something to put in as background noise.
Soap also came back down, but with Ghost this time, literally dragging him by the sleeve and making him sit down, curling next to him and throwing a leg over one of his ridiculously thick and strong thighs.
Angel noticed all of this but didn't say anything.
"So, how did ya lock yourself out?" Soap finally asked.
"I was rushing and forgot my keys," Angel said, already annoyed at how she would need to call someone to unlock her door for her.
"Went somewhere special? You looked nice." Soap said, making her smile.
"Yeah, I went for coffee with a friend. And I bought a new ring!" She said and stuck out her hand to show him.
Soap's eyes immediately sparkled with interest at the ring she showed him. Ghost glanced at him and at the silver ring she was showing him, and knew Johnny liked jewellery, especially silver.
Soap grabbed her hand and he leaned forward, "That's beautiful, where did you get it from?"
The ring was silver with small pink and purple rocks on it, forming a little skull, obviously mimicking the tag on Kuromi's collar.
"This store is 20 minutes away from here by train! They have so many things and almost everything is unisex! I'll send you the address if you want?" Angel said, excited to be sharing something she found with him.
"I dinnae have your number though?" Soap realised.
"Oh yeah," Angel was confused, with the number of times they've spoken and hung out, how come they don't have each other's numbers already?
"Alright, give me your number and I'll add you to our group chat so you can save their numbers as well, okay?" Soap said, taking out his phone and handing it to her.
Angel typed in her number and saved her contact under 'Angel 👹'
When she handed him back his phone he snorted, "What type of emoji is that?"
"It's a demon!" She said with a grin and he laughed, shrugging it off.
The conversation was light and easy, they talked about random mundane things until Angel’s attention was stolen by the TV, she stared at the big screen with her mouth open and forgot to finish her sentence.
She snorted, and Gaz tilted his side to the side, “What’s up?”
“That’s you, John.” Angel pointed at the screen, where a big brown bear was napping under a tree on its back. Gaz and Soap started giggling like school girls at Price’s expression. Ghost on the other hand let out a small snort and pulled at the strings of his hoodie, trying to hide himself from his captain.
Price leaned forward, putting his hands on his knees and squinting at the screen like an old man, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“That’s literally exactly how you nap in the garden sometimes, and it’s cute!” Angel said, still laughing at his face.
“That’s not true, I literally have no idea what you’re talking about, the sun must’ve messed up with your head.” He said, shrugging and refusing to meet her eyes.
“John, stop playing, it’s you!” Angel whined, shaking his arm and making Gaz laugh harder.
“If I’m that bear, you’re that one.” He said, pointing at the TV. Angel glanced at the TV and saw a small cub falling on its face and getting a mouthful of dirt. She gasped at his audacity, “No, I’m not!”
“I have seen you almost trip outside when taking out the trash, 3 times already.” Price teased her, looking at her with a small smirk.
“And you laugh at a lady instead of preserving her reputation? How dare you, John!” Angel said with a hand on her chest and falling back on Soap with a hand against her forehead.
“That is not a way to treat a proper lady, John. Apologise!” Soap said, lower lip dramatically wobbling and cradling her head in his arms.
“I’ll think about it.” Price chuckled at their antics and Gaz gasped, “Oh my days, you’re actually the worst.”
“And yet, you still love me.” Price sighed.
“Unfortunately.” Gaz rolled his eyes and placed a kiss on the Captain’s temple before standing up and walking to the kitchen, to get himself a snack.
.
.
.
“I think your clothes should be dry now,” Soap said, opening the tumble dryer’s door and watching Angel bend down to inspect her clothes.
“They are, thanks.” She grabbed the clothes and placed them on top of the dryer, closing the door with one hand.
Soap watched Angel fold her clothes in a neat pile and her skirt caught his attention. It was a pretty short brown pleated skirt, and he couldn’t stop himself from reaching out to run his hand on the soft fabric. Angel stopped and stared at Soap’s entranced and focused face.
“Nice, isn’t it?” She smiled and he snapped back into reality, retrieving his hand to himself.
“What fabric is that?” He asked and Angel just stared at him, “I actually don’t know…”
“Wait, maybe it says on the tag inside.” She exclaimed and quickly grabbed the skirt, flipping it inside out and frowning, when it was nowhere to be seen, “Oh shit, I must’ve removed it and forgot, sorry Soap.”
If there’s one thing Soap can tell you he likes about the woman, is that she dresses well. Her personal style is so cool and unique to him, every time she’s about to leave for work, he stops and admires her choice of clothes for the day. At first, it embarrassed him, how much he enjoys clothes and colours and fashion, but then it took years of working through internalised self-hatred for him to enjoy ‘womanly’ things without feeling like utter shit about it in the comfort of his own room. Thanks, Dad for the trauma <3
“If you want, I can try to figure out where I bought it from and buy you one? So we can match?” Angel asked, grinning and holding the skirt up in her hands.
Soap’s eyes widened a bit and he quickly spluttered, “No, you dinnae have to! Please, don’t bother.”
“You don’t like the skirt?” Angel’s smile fell.
“No, I do! It's just you dinnae have to bother buying me one, It won’t suit me.” He said, laughing and scratching his arm, no humour behind his laugh, if anything it was tainted with embarrassment and a hint of shame.
Angel’s eyes softened, “Soap, what makes you think it won’t suit you? Have you seen your thighs and tiny -excuse my language- slutty waist?”
Soap blushed bright red and barked out a laugh, “What the shite, Angel?!”
“It’s true! Don’t tell me Ghost has never told you this before?” Angel asked, tilting her head to the side.
Soap took a sharp inhale through his nose and slammed the door of the kitchen shut, “What makes you think he-”
“The man’s practically obsessed with your thighs, every time you sit next to him his hands glue themselves to them, especially when you’re wearing shorts. And I don’t even blame him, you have killer thighs. In my opinion, it’s a crime you have to wear trousers-” Angel said, waving her hands and the skirt around, and Soap almost died and closed her mouth with his palm before he could stop himself.
“Alright!”
“Hmm??” Angel hummed behind his palm, eyes wide.
“You want to buy me a skirt? Okay, just- just don’t–” Soap said, letting out a shaky breath and slowly removing his hand from her mouth.
Angel blinked up at him with big shiny eyes, feeling the borrowed shorts slowly slide down her hips. “Are you free next Wednesday?” She asked and quickly reached down the tie the short’s strings tighter to stop them from sliding down.
“Yeah, why?”
“Let’s play dress up at mine,” Angel said, grinning up at Soap.
“You want to-”
“Let’s hang out, and I’ll show you my jewellery collection,” Angel added with a small smirk, raising her brows.
Soap gaped at her like a fish, his mouth agape, and groaned, throwing his head back, “Fine, At what time?”
“How about 3 in the afternoon?”
“I’ll bring snacks.” Soap nodded, feeling an odd soup of excitement and anxiety brew in his stomach.
“Perfect, see you then, Soap.” Angel winked and grabbed the collar of his shirt, dragging him down to place a kiss on his cheek and happily skipped out of the kitchen.
“PRICE, CAN YOU UNLOCK MY DOOR NOW, PLEASE?” He heard Angel call out in the living room and leaned against the tumble dryer, glancing down at his thighs in his shorts. He chuckled and shrugged, “I do have killer thighs.”
Outside in front of Angel’s front door, Price was squatting in front of the lock, picking at it with some tool Angel has never seen before she gasped when a small click was heard and Price pulled the doorknob down, opening it.
Price stood up and turned to her, “Here we go, now go look for those keys, to make sure they’re actually inside.”
Angel raised a brow, “Should I be worried you can unlock my doors?...”
“No, why? Are you hiding something?” Price asked, with a hand on his hip, wearing a small smirk.
“Of course not.”

Actor AU Wally Darling x GN Human! Reader (1)
Tumblr media
You’re friend was trying to get a date on the audition for the human part on welcome home, of course you came because you’re friend needed you for emotional support.
You waited outside the studio area while you’re friend asked Wally darling himself for the date of the audition.
While waiting you just so happen to see Eddie dear the actor who plays the mailman of the show, he was walking to his next location until He seemed to notice you.
“Hey are in one of the people auditioning for the human role on welcome home?” He asked he seemed really friendly “oh no, my friend is.” You stated.
“Oh well that’s unfortunate I think you would make a great fit.” This surprised “really I never thought about being a actor.” He smiled “trust m so once thought the same thing but, I gave it a try and that led to so many opportunities for me.” Eddie explained showing proud of his accomplishments.
“Wow that’s amazing.” Made Eddie bashful “thanks but of course if you change you’re mind, the auditions are on this Friday at 3.” He gave you a note of the date just in case you forget.
You had to admit, you didn’t really have anything going for you outside of you’re job, a job that you don’t even like.
“Huh I’ll think about it.” You admit while looking down at the note “well i wish you luck.” He replied walking away while also saying goodbye to you, you said it back.
You then heard you’re (b/f/n) call for you “(y/n)!” You looked to see them coming towards you “this is great I got the audition Mr.darling is actually very nice.”
You smiled “good I would hate to stand here any longer, my legs where about to give up on me” You and you’re friend chuckled while walking out of the studio.
(B/f/n) drove you home and you two said goodbye to each other.
You couldn’t stop thinking about what Eddie had told you “maybe… but I’m not even sure I would like the attention, and I didn’t have talk with Wally darling so properly wouldn’t be able to make it in.” You spoke making excuses for not giving yourself a shot.
While trying to not think about it again you continued you’re Wednesday by, doing you usual stuff when you finish work.
As Friday came you remembered what Eddie had said that the auditions are today, so you checked on you’re friend to see if they made it to the audition.
You waited for a while until you saw that they weren’t responding “maybe they made it there but, they would usually call me first to be there for them.” You decided just to get there yourself to be there for (b/f/n).
“I’m sure they are there I better hurry.” You spoke while running pout the door with the keys. After driving for a while you made it to the studio.
You immediately got out and checked the time “2:53? Hopefully they made it.” As you walked towards the area (b/f/n) was suppose to be at you looked to see no humans around.
“That’s weird… maybe- “hey you.” You looked to see a man with black shirt hair, pale and with a minimalist outfit “seems you are the only one that showed so come on.” This surprised (b/f/n) did it show in fact no one did? “I think there w-
“Not now we don’t want the director to be waiting.” He walked towards a hallway assuming that you would follow him? Which you do you couldn’t stop feeling anxiety during all this.
Maybe this was a sign that you should do this even if you failed, you tried that should be enough.
“Ok good luck.” The man said as he walked away to who knows where and to see yourself in front of the door that said auditions.
“Alright let’s give this a try.” You breathed in and out and checked the time to see that’s its 2:59. “Oh!” You said in surprise and you opened the door to see the director.
“So what’s your name?” Asked the director
“My name is (y/n) (l/n).”
“Ok, so (y/n) I need you to read these for me.”
What you assume is a assistant giving you a sheet a paper. You look to see a couple these don’t seem to bad.
“And action.” The director said without warning. This made you jump into action ignoring you’re anxiety bubbling in you, You begin you’re lines this wasn’t so bad it’s basicallly pretending to be someone you’re not.
After finishing the director and even Wally darling seem impressed “wow, thank you for you’re time Mrs.(l/n).” “Yes thank you for the time.” You looked at the director he seemed happy but Wally well he didn’t seem, pleased to say the least.
You couldn’t help but wonder why. “Alright thank you for the time.” I spoke before walking out the door.
I let out a sigh of relief after closing the door.

Welcome...Home..?
Overworked! GN! Reader x Welcome Home Crew
Chapter 2
Tw: none
The main character has woken up from drifting off to sleep while watching Welcome Home. Here's the twist (which isn't much of a twist for fanfiction like this, but regardless): the main character of Welcome Home, Wally Darling, talked directly to them! And now the reader must navigate through their morning when they find an unexpected surprise!
Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3 l Chapter 4
The first thing you woke up to was the blaring alarm on your phone. A jolt of energy washed over you as you bolted up from your seat.
Splash! Oh, no.
Looking down, your lap was now a mess. The cup of unfinished instant ramen now sat spilt on the couch.
"Oh, no, neighbor!" Next came the voice. That same, gentle, monotone voice you had gotten so familiar with.
The rest of the morning was a haze for you. Wally Darling, the puppet you had gotten to know a little about the night previous, was talking to you. Again. Which, at that point, didn't bother you as much as it did the first time. No, this time what caught you off guard, was that he was right there. In front of you. He wasn't as big as you, only merely shy of three feet. But he was there. Right there.
Another puppet walked up to Wally to see what the commotion was all about. Then another. A giant bird? And...a regular guy dressed in mailman attire. He was closer to a normal human height, you assumed only being about four feet tall. The bird cooed over you as she helped you up from the couch and brush off the excess instant ramen. Which by this point was long forgotten. "How did they get here? Who are they? Am I still dreaming? Am I dead? " The sound of dishes clanking together caught your attention and looking over, there was...a giant lanky puppet. Green, with multiple pairs of limbs. Wait, were those antennas?
In the corner of your eye, you saw two more puppets over by your bookshelf. A gray puppet was flipping through the various books, eventually settling on the one you had kept about butterflies from when you were a little kid. A second smaller one in a pink dress ran up to him with various trinkets in her hands, excitedly showing them to the other who merely glanced at them and mumbled a comment or two.
You heard two more voices back in the kitchen. Looking back over, there were two more strangers in your house that had originally gone unnoticed. One was a large blue dog that leaned against the counter. You assumed he was cracking jokes due to the green puppet's laughter while the dog occasionally passed over a dish or two to help the green puppet clean. The other was a smaller puppet that stood to the other side of the green puppet. A sun? A star, maybe? The smaller of the two was occasionally handed a dish to dry and put away while she walked around gallantly and ranted dramatically.
You were dumbfounded. Who were these people? How...how did they get here? How are they walking??? Speaking????
"Um...hello?" The mailman puppet called out to you and reached out for your arm while Wally tugged on your shirt to get your attention. You couldn't move. You could barely make a sound, only managing to get out a few struggling stammers that didn't even form a single coherent word. Feathers graced your back, and a wing reached over your shoulder to gently lead your head to look back at her.
"Oh, goodness, dear! Are you okay?" Her being a giant walking, talking, rainbow bird didn't help you clear your mind, but her gentle demeanor and caring eyes and tone did help you speak again, this time more clearly.
"...I...I think I need to sit down." It was barely more than a whisper, and the puppets worrying over you had to strain their ears to hear you. But they understood immediately and guided you to an empty clean chair. Wally climbed up onto your lap once you sat down.
"Neighbor, I know this is sudden...and maybe scary, but you're okay!" His felt hand reached for yours and he squeezed. "We don't know how we got here, either. The episode was just ending, and we all were going to go back to our houses, but then....then..." His voice trailed off. The orange puppet finished his explanation.
"We just woke up here, Ms./Mr./Mx." The puppet took off his cap to look at you more clearly. Was this even real? "We hope you don't mind us. We're still trying to find a way back to Home." The gray puppet walked over with a book in his hands, the smaller excitable puppet quick to latch onto him and follow.
"I take it you're Y/N L/N?" He closed the book as he walked over. The others glanced at him with a raised eyebrow and he rolled his eyes and opened the book once again to the inside of the cover. On the inside wrote: "This book belongs to: Y/N L/N." You nodded lightly, and the mailman spoke up.
"Well, ain't that just?" He raised his hand to you and smiled. "I think it's right time we introduce ourselves to you. I'm Eddie Dear. Your local mailman!" He stood there and stared, waiting patiently for you to shake his hand. Your arm shook as you reached out your free hand and grasped his. He gladly shook your hands without a moment's glance and let go.
Another hummed and spoke up. The gray puppet again. "You're right, Eddie. If you're hopefully going to be our host while we look for a way back to Home, you should know your guests." He took a step forward, choosing not to attempt to shake your hand; the puppet with a dress continued to cling close to him, he spared no glance in her direction. She bounced with more excitement every step closer the pair got to you. For having fake eyes, her eyes almost appeared to sparkle, just like a regular human's. "I'm Frank Frankly, the neighborhood's most knowledgeable residen-" The smaller puppet cut Frank off.
"And I'm Julie Joyful! It's so amazing, fantastic, wonderful that I get to meet you!" She squealed out. "Oh, we're going to have so much fun! I have so many games we could play together! Oh, do you like gardening? I love gardening! Maybe we can do some gardening together sometime!" Julie rambled on without a single pause for you to get a word in. Frank had to put a hand to her shoulder for her to stop and realize she had gotten carried away. A quick apology was uttered from the excited puppet, still as eccentric as ever. Then, the nervous bird stepped into your view, holding her wings close to her chest as she smiled politely.
"I'm Poppy Partridge, dear. I do hope we aren't a bother to you." She stepped closer and brushed her wing over your bangs and held them up to get a better look at your eyes. You couldn't help but feel almost entranced by the puppets around you. This shouldn't be real. Your eyes widened, and despite that, you felt as though you couldn't see enough of your surroundings. Poppy gasped and her brows furrowed. "Oh, dear! You don't look well, dearie. Have you been getting enough sleep? Have you been eating enough?" She cooed and fretted over you as she held the side of your face with her wing. It was odd, but strangely comforting; like a mother's reassuring embrace. You remained silent and opted to stare at her. How is this real?
BRIIIIIIING~!
The sound of your phone caught your attention and out of habit you swiftly grabbed it up and turned off your alarm. You didn't have time for this.
"I...." You stared absentmindedly at the screen of your phone, looking back at the notification.
"Get ready for work!!" It read in bold letters.
"I...I need to get ready for work." Your voice was soft and unheard by the other puppets around you. Except for one.
"Okay," Wally gently piped up. "You can get ready for work, Y/N. We'll take care of things here for you." His smile widened and he squeezed your hand once more. "You take all the time you need. And when you're ready, we'll be waiting here for you, okay?" His dark eyes stared up into yours. That's when it all caved in for you. This was real. But you don't have time for this. Your face began to feel hot, your lip quivered...but you pulled yourself together and took a deep breath. Your eyes met his.
"Thanks, Wally."
"Of course, Y/N." He quickly moved out of your lap once you began moving to stand. Then you pretended things were normal again. You hurried to your room and grabbed a change of clothes, took a quick shower, and got your things organized in your bag. The thought of the living puppets in your house was shoved to the back of your mind. You don't have time for this. Hoisting the heavy bag onto your shoulder, you rushed to the front door.
"Wait!" A voice called out to you. Turning back, it was Poppy. "You're not leaving without breakfast, are you? And do you have lunch packed?" Was she really concerned for you?
A new voice called out to Poppy as the green puppet walked towards the two of you. He held out a small paper bag in one hand and a lunch container you had tried to use so long ago. You found you never had enough time or energy to pack it anymore. "It's alright, Poppy." He looked you in the eyes. "I know the tired eyes of a hard worker when I see one." He handed you the bag and container. "There wasn't much, but I made do. Here you go, shrimp. The bag has breakfast you can eat on the go, and the container has your lunch. Go get 'em, kiddo!" He ruffled your hair and smiled. You couldn't help but stare in awe at the tall puppet. But you don't have time for this. It took a moment, but you pushed the panic to the back of your mind and smiled.
"Thanks." You turned towards the door before looking back at them. "I guess I'll see you all...later..then." A pair of sparkling eyes shot your direction, and Julie jumped up from her spot on the floor, waving her arms up and down wildly.
"BYE, Y/N!!!" She squealed. The others were all quick to turn to you and wave with bright smiles. A chorus of goodbyes and farewell wishes followed you as you walked through the door. It almost made you laugh. You haven't felt like this in a long time. Happy. And not so...alone.
But you don't have time for this. You walked to your car and got in.
"Time for work."

Deconstructing the sissy in you (extra)
Let’s go back to the beginning of the tutorial. However, let’s amplify it a little more. You always had a thing for this thing called “feminization”, which involved forcing men into wearing feminine clothing or adopting feminine roles in an embarrassing manner. That kind of thing was your kink/fetish for a good while and imagined what would it be like if it happened for real. Little did you know it was a gateway to explore your sexuality.
You browse the web for TG captions and transformations as a way to spend some “me time”. All of a sudden, you see this post:
Tumblr media
“Damn, she’s sexy!” you say out loud. You obviously want to be inside her body, but deep in your mind, you secretly want to be in her body. As in, you want to feel her soft skin, her boobs, her skirt, hair, you want to be her!
In no time, you start to see more pics like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eventually, your feed begins to fill with captions like these...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
...while some daring strangers fill your inbox with captions like these...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Soon enough, you start to get into female fashion, changed your way of words, became interested in men, and slowly incorporated your feminization in your public life. Those hypnos and captions have changed your thinking! It got to the point where you opened a Tumblr, started to make "sissy besties", and asked for tips on how to become more "feminine". It felt mutual, it felt exclusive, it felt like becoming a part of the Mean Girls!
Tumblr media
But you wanted more. You wanted hypnosis that can destroy your "manhood". You wanted captions that affirmed your "sissy identity". You wanted hormones to grow boobs and ass. You wanted to become a woman at an instant!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But how? Desperately wanting to view more captions, you decide to find more of them on your search bar. You type "feminization captions" and the results are abundant! But as you scroll all the way down to a dead end, you find a picture of a sexy, blonde woman in red that catches your attention:
Tumblr media
"OMG! She's so gorgeous! She's the type I want to become! I need to find out who she is!" Just as you click to the image, you're sent to a blog that you're somehow familiar and/or following. You try to find the image and as you keep on scrolling, you found it belongs to a certain blog: @befemininenow. ""Be feminine now?" This is it! This is what I need! Someone who can instantly change me into a feminine woman!"
But as you read the pinned post and the introduction greeting, you feel a little conflicted. You like feminization, but the blog doesn't cater to sissies. Yet, the captions feel so persuasive and alluring, you don't know where to start. You decide to go all the way back and finally found the one that seems the sexiest.
What was the caption that caught your attention?:
Of course the one with Lilly Roma and her tight, revealing, black suit! But instead of being a sissy caption, it's a caption that tells you to be a fellow sister! "Sister? Mmm... I... I like that. Better than sissy!"
You browse the blog and find more than enough caption to your taste:
Some were a dream, some were so sexual, some were unbelievable, and some... hit right at home.
Very few captions mention the word "sissy" and when they do, it's usually not as you expected it to be. That's because the blog is about embracing femininity instead of treating it as humiliating. You try to find if there are more blogs like hers and luckily for you, there's a bunch more...
Joanna's Journey, A Miss Inside, Every Alice, Gym Bunny Candie Hart, GGS-Trans-Inspo, and so much more!
It took a while for you to realize that some of those feminization blogs aren't like the rest, including sissy blogs like Sissypinkfashionfun. They may seem a bit unrealistic at times, maybe a little overboard with the "wipe masculinity" posts. But what you love about those blogs the most is that all of them have something in common: they are not ashamed of femininity, but rather embrace it as their own.
It all makes sense: as a kid, you wanted to be a ballerina:
Tumblr media
Later on in life, you wanted to become a princess:
Tumblr media
But now...
Tumblr media
You just wish you can come out as your true self! Why be ashamed of being feminine? Why do you need to be punished for showing weakness? Why be subject to bullying for behaving a certain way? You don't really want to be a "sissy", but you want to be a girl. You love your feminine side.
Tumblr media
But in order to move on from your "sissy phase", there is one step you would have to do:
Tumblr media
That's right, girl! It means you have to come out. Whether you like it or not, it's the next step to your change. You can keep hiding in the closet, experiment with the "sissy lifestyle", and reblog feminization captions all you want. But as much as you hate to face reality, she is you. You're transgender. You're a woman inside, even if your current anatomy doesn't match it.
Tumblr media
The latter sentence didn't discourage Mikaela Ville nor Angelick Poleth (girl in the next pic) from postponing transition. Look at them now. Don't you wish to want to be like them?
But to be sure of the change, to be sure of what you really want, how far will you go into your life change? Do you want just dress feminine, but still identify as a man? Maybe you identify as a different gender? Or do you want to go further and take hormones to turn into a woman?
Tumblr media
Whatever you end up identifying as, know your identity and femininity are valid. Find your nearest gender support group, talk to doctors and therapists who can assist your gender change, and be very safe in today's environment. Remember, you are not a sissy, but a brave woman! Unlock the cages and let the lioness inside out!
(End of guides. Thank you for reading 'till the end!)

There was blood on the hero’s hands. The hero had felt blood before, on themself, on their knuckles, on their clothes. This time it hurt. It was cold, and it cracked every time the hero moved their fingers, and yet they couldn’t look away.
If they looked away they would have to look at—they couldn’t look.
The hero stared at their hands. They were cold, too.
Footsteps, the hush of clothing.
“Hey, hey, hey,” hands skated along the Hero’s chin, tilting it up. “Hey, can you look at me, please?”
They blinked.
“There you are,” the villain murmured, hands gentle as they smoothed the hero’s jaw. “Love, can you—“
“I need to buy eggs.” The hero’s lips were numb.
The villain paused. “Eggs?”
“I’m out,” they stared at the villains face. It was safe, and it was familiar, and they were staring back at them with worry. “They’re my roommate’s favorite.”
The villain knelt, then, eyes briefly dropping to the hero’s hands before training back on their face.
“You’re in shock.”
“My mailman keeps putting my mail in my neighbors’ mailbox. It’s never the same neighbor either, so I think it’s on purpose—“
The villain looked pained. “It wasn’t your fault.”
The hero had words, and then they didn’t. It was their fault, wasn’t it? They hadn’t—their mind slipped off it like water, and their chest eased.
“I failed my geometry test,” they whispered, and their tongue hurt.
The villains hands shifted to the hero’s forearms. Gentle, so gentle. Like the hero would break if they weren’t.
“Can you stand up for me, please?”
“It’s cold.”
The villains face rippled.
“The city is in the middle of a heatwave,” they said softly.
The hero drifted, and found the sun. It looked warm. So warm.
“I’m cold.”
“I know, love.”
They drifted back. It felt like sinking.
“They’re cold, too.”
The villain tensed. They looked over. The hero didn’t.
“It wasn’t your fault,” the villain repeated.
“They stopped breathing,” the hero whispered, and the words cut their lungs on the way out, shredding their tongue.
The villain’s face dropped.
“Let me help you,” the begged. “Please.”
“I tried so hard,” the hero’s voice broke. “And I did compressions and their ribs broke but they—“ their voice left, their mind slid.
The villain’s hands gripped their face, guiding it to look at them.
“You did everything you could.”
Their voice was firm.
There was no room for argument.
“They didn’t deserve to die,” the hero sobbed, broken wretched sobs that ached on the way out.
“Love,” the villain breathed, and then they were sobbing into the villain’s chest like a child. Their hand rubbed soothing circles on the hero’s back. “I know. I know.”
“They were just a kid—“
“I know,” the villain said softly.
The hero shattered, and they looked, and it hurt and it hurt and it—their mind slipped.
They blinked, and the villain was wrapping a blanket around them on a too soft couch.
“Where?”
The villain’s head snapped up, and the tension bled from their face.
“You passed out.”
“Oh.”
The memories came like sludge. They stung.
“It hurts,” they breathed.
“It’s okay, love. It’s okay.” The hero took the mug of tea they were handed. “Breathe.”
The hero did.
They watched the villain. There was a plant in the corner of the apartment. It made the hero smile. So mundane, so soft. So gentle, their villain.
“It wasn’t your fault.”
And this time, the hero almost believed them.
Later, when the tea was cold and they had pressed themselves against the villain’s side, the villain kissed the top of their head and murmured “Stay.”
Bundled in blankets and the villain’s arms, the hero did.

Father figure Eddie? From welcome home also these are separate! And a very flexible nb s/o with Wally like he walks in and sees the reader putting their legs behind their head and acting like nothing is happening and Wally is like :???? Wtf doesn't that make u uncomfortable? And reader is like :no why would it?? And Wally explains that normal puppets would rip their seams out if they did that and reader is like : oh ya I was made for a gymnastics episode And reader and Wally both know that they are in a cartoon and are ok with it. That would be nice!
please drink water eat ur fav food and get sleep! You can take breaks anytime you want please remember you don't have to if you don't want to!❤️❤️
Hey Vi! Love this idea, I've decided to mix them since they just seemed to harmonize quite nicely!
Love letters
Pairing: Wally Darling x Gymnastics!reader / Parent Eddie x Adopted!reader
Summary: Your relationship with Wally started with you receiving love letters and eventually you guys started dating but what will be Wally's reaction to you doing some stretches?
Illustrated Au, picture is not mine. Request by @ghosteezofvispast
Tumblr media
Y/n had been adopted by Eddie, a nice mailman, when they were eleven and they honestly lived in the Welcome Home neighborhood since then. They knew of the division of the cartoon world with the “real world” but its like they didn’t even grow up since they only remember their life from when they appeared in an episode with the famous Wally Darling, they had always had a tiny crush on him but actually receiving love letter from him was what made you fall for him harder that you were already.
He will send Y/n from a basket of apples to a portrait to love poems and letters. He loved showering Y/n with love and this was even before they started dating which lets you know how devoted this man was when it came to it. Eventually him and Y/n started dating and it was honestly one of the most wholesome relationships the neighborhood has seen apart from Frank and, Y/n’s dad, Eddie.
Wally entered Y/n’s house unannounced since he wanted to surprise Y/n with some gifts he made but he saw them on the living room doing stretches. They had their legs behind their head and acting like nothing is happening which left Wally frozen in place, all of him went white with the shock but soon he recovered and looked at Y/n confused.
“My dear, doesn't that make u uncomfortable?,” asked Wally in a soft voice, sitting in the ground while looking at Y/n undo their position.
“No honey, why would it??,” asked Y/n while looking at Wally with a little head tilt which made Wally chuckle softly before explaining that he has never seen any cartoon character do positions like that on purpose.
“Oh, but honey... You know that I was made for a gymnastics episode,” said Y/n making Wally realize his little mistake. He can’t believe he almost forgot about that because of the shock, Y/n leaned in and planted a soft kiss on Wally’s cheek but he moved his head on purpose making Y/n kiss Wally on the lips.
“Thanks for the kiss, my dear,” said Wally while Y/n blushed cherry red. Smiling softly Wally placed one last soft kiss on Y/n’s lips while chuckling softly.
Hope you like it Vi!

Pedri x Black Reader - Our Secret Part 10/10
I loved it. The process was beyond fun 😊😊
Thank u to all the Pedri fandoms that were very welcoming of me. All the love to you ❤️
And credit to whoever made this gif
Tumblr media
The story of Marcella and Pedri. As students of the most prestigious high schools in the country, the two are very focused on developimg their indvidual talents. Marcella has music whilst Pedri has football. However, worlds collide when Pedri's secret is revealed, he has diabetes.
Enjoy!
Marcella came down the stairs for breakfast. Her parents looked up from whatever they were doing, both in disbelief of seeing their daughter finally leave her bedroom. There wasn't much said, nor did much need to be said. Her mother pulled out a chair for Marcella to sit, whilst her dad fixed her something to eat, serving it on a plate.
"Are you going back to school?" They asked, with hope in their eyes.
Marcella shook her head. "I'm sorry."
"Oh, mía." Her dad stretched out a hand to stroke her cheek, "No need to apologize. You'll return to school whenever you are ready."
The thing is, Marcella had been ready. She spent two nights crying herself to sleep after her breakup with Pedri. But those two nights had been enough. She had wiped her tears and decided to understand rather than to just feel. She wanted to understand Pedri rather than cry over his hurtful words, that  perhaps had more to them. But as she arrived to the school's football stadium, Marcella realized that it was too late to understand. Her dad had driven her to the game just in time for the second half. She had watched Pedri play, hoping that whatever was bothering him would end after what seemed to be a stressful day for him. "He's got clubs coming to see him from all over the country." Her dad had informed. No wonder Pedri had been so on edge that week. The leaking of his video certainly hadn't helped. Nevertheless it had been too late for Marcella to apologize. Like the rest of the crowd, she had watched Pedri's body fall lifeless to the ground. The silence that followed was pure horror, and no one seemed to know what to do, mainly because not alot of people knew of Pedri's condition.
"He's got diabetes!" Marcella remebers herself gasp. She was squeezing her dad's arm to the point of him groaning in pain. "He needs to get to the hospital, please papa we need to help him!"
Marcella was ready to jump out of her seat and storm the pitch, luckily someone else had thought the same. Pedri's brother, Fernando, was seen clearing players to get to his little brother. The crowd gasped with the drama unfolding. Fernando ran up to Pedri, picked him up from the ground and simply ran out of the stadium with his brothers lifeless body in his arms. It wasn't until later that Marcella got the news that Pedri was in hospital, in a stable condition, however, suffering a ketoacidosis coma, which he had yet awaken from.
There was a hectic knock on the door.
"The mailman." Her dad sighed and rose from the table. Turmoil followed in the hallway, with her dad heard shouting, "Oye, no shoes in the house!"
"Gavi?"
Marcella's eyes widened as he stumbled into the room. It was a flashback to the past, when he used to come over everyday, asking her to come out and play. Back then the two had been friends, best friends even.
"He's awake." Gavi said, his chest rising up and down following the sprint he had made from his house to Marcella's.
"W...what?"
The base of his throat moved when he swallowed. "Pedri. H...he's awake, asking for you."
********************************************
Pedri had been staring at the ceiling for a while, just breathing. He was too weak too really move but his brother made sure to angle his bed so that the tv in his hospital room was always in his sight.
"Barça is loosing." Fernando informed, smiling at the fact.
Pedri looked down from the ceiling, amused that his brother was amused. He sighed, hands tucked behind his neck. "They'll come around, they always do."
"In less than ten minutes?" Fernando snorted." I don't think so. Atletico Madrid's defense is too good."
It was nice. Pedri's brother had stayed with him in the hospital since he arrived. He was the first face he saw when he came out of his coma. The sense of peace it had brought him was of no other. Whatever baggage they once had was simply left in the past.
"They were watching you, you know?" Fernando said, whilst failing to turn his attention away from the game.
"Who?"
"FC Barcelona. Their scouts were in the crowd during the game. They even sent somone over to the house when you were at school."
Pedri rasied his brows in disbelief.
"Mom and Dad told me not to tell you since we all know how you get when you've got.....alot going on."
"I did eat." Pedri mumbled. "And take my shots."
"Yeah, but even I knew that you shouldn't have been out there for that long. You should have listened to your coach when he told you to come off the pitch."
"Barça would want someone who can play a full ninety minutes. They wouldn't want someone like me, someone who's....sick."
Fernando looked to his brother. "You never know. " He shrugged.
"He's in here."
People emerged in the door. A nurse, followed by Gavi and...
"Marcella."
"Señor Gonzalez, please." The nurse gestured for Pedri to remain lying down as he looked to want to get up.
"It's okay." Said Marcella, who entered the room behind Gavi. They brought chocolate and other treats, however, the room was getting crowded, the nurse looking agitated by the fact.
"I'll get some coffee." Fernando said, rising to his feet. "I'll be right back." He winked, slipping out of the room. Pedri Gavi and Marcella waited for the nurse to attach more fluid to Pedri's arm before any of them spoke. She left the room reminding them about visiting hours ending soon.
Gavi stepped back. "I'll give you two space if you want to talk things out."
"No, stay." Pedri protested.
Gavi looked to Marcella who nodded agreeingly. He took a seat, with the football match between Barça and Atletico still ongoing in the background.
"Marcella I'm..."
"No Pedri I'm....."
They both looked equally miserable.
"The things I said...." Pedri scooted higher up in bed, revealing more of his very thin hospital gown. "I didn't mean it, not any of it."
Marcella nodded understandingly, anxiously clenching the box of chocolate that she held in her hands.
"You were right though, to say what you said. I guess I do care about people think of me. I shouldn't, but I know I do."
"Pedri I...." Her gaze fell to the floor. "Recording you when you were singing...." She shook her head. "I shouldn't have done it. I should never have..."
"I did it!"
Pedri and Marcella fell quiet as Gavi stood. He was pale and trembling all over.
"Technically it was Rosie who leaked the video, but I switch Marcella's phone with mine so that Rosie could go through it and find the video."
"You did what?"
Gavi stepped back, frightened by Marcella's narrowed gaze. "It....it was a mistake."
"You're a mistake Gavi. How could you do that to me."
"I...I know..." His head bowed in shame. "I wasn't thinking and then you and Pedri....you know."
Pedri looked to his friend, not quite angry what he had done, at least not as angry about it as Marcella.
"I didn't think it would lead to you guys breaking up. I realized my mistake once you did."
"It's okay" Pedri nodded.
"No it's not." Marcella objected. She put down the box of chocolates and looked ready to square up with Pedri right there and then. "What have I ever done to you, huh?"
"Nothing." Gavi mumbled.
"Why do you hate me so much Pablo Gavi?"
"I don't hate you Marcella, I've never done so. It's just that..."
"Just what?" She asked, no patient for any excuses.
"Two years ago. When we both got accepted to Estudios Filántropos, I thought great, I'll have a friend. But then I started playing football and you did your thing at the music program."
"Yes, so what?" She scuffed.
It was difficult for Gavi to get the words out, Pedri could tell. "Well you seemed to have find your corner at the school so fast, whilst I was struggling to fit into the team. I did everything I could for my teammates to accept me, some things I regret. Either way, nothing worked. And during the days that we used to bike home together I got really tired of hearing how great things were going for you. I was...I was..."
"Jealous?" She frowned
"And angry that you didn't care about me and the fact that I was struggling. The fact that I needed....my friend."
"Oh Gavi."
Pedri watched their interaction with a smile on his face. They were the two most important people in his life. Having both of them by his side brought newfound strength.
"Gavi, I didn't forget about you. I never wanted to lose you as a friend. If you would've have told me that you were struggling..."
"I know,  I know..." He nodded. "But I'm telling you now, aren't I?"
"That you're struggling?" She frowned.
"No."
"Then what?"
He mumbled somthing under hus breath.
"Yeah, there's no way I can interpret what you just said."
Gavi rolled his eyes. "I said." He announced, more base in his voice. "I wanna be friends...again."
Marcella's shoulders fell. "You do?"
Gavi shrugged. "If you want to."
She let the thought linger. Negotiating the pros and cons in her head. "Fine." She muttered, stretching out a hand for Gavi to shake. "Friends?"
Gavi smiled, nodding his head as the two shook hands, not holding onto each other longer then what was necessary. There was commotion happening behind then, something unfolding on the TV. Pedri tilted his head, tuning into the game. Just then he saw Ivan Rakitić going for it, for the....
"GOAAAAAAL!"
Marcella jumped in fear as Pedri and Gavi shouted victoriously.
"What happened?" Fernando poked his head through the door, almost spilling his coffee on the way in.
"Goal, goal, goal!!!" The boys celebrated. The nurses and doctors outside were seen looking anxiously amongst themselves, Pedri however was as happy as he had ever been.
"What? But how?" Fernando, in disbelief, looked for reason. Pedri shrugged his shoulders and said. "You never know." From now on those were the words he promised to live by. The future was unknown, but with good people around, people that he loved, everything was possible.
The End

when writing: banter
it’s been super long since i’ve done one of these so let’s pretend i am a super great amazing talented award-winning writer and just hear me out.
i think one of the biggest mistakes with writing banter is that people often mistake a character just being pretentious and annoying with being witty. like your character isn’t witty or dry, they’re pessimistic and cynical in the worst way possible.
additionally, in order to write banter, the characters have to compliment each other in some way if that makes sense ?? (not that anything i say does).
like, two people who don’t have the same humor to some degree are not going to be able to play off each others jokes in the same way two people with the same humour would.
so firstly, how to avoid your characters sounding pretentious? put simply, avoid banter that puts people down negatively— or i should say, at the bare minimum, the person they’re talking to or about should know they’re being facetious.
an example:
character a: “i think i’ll wear the pink gloss today. he said he liked pink, didn’t he?”
character b: “i think you should stop obsessing over what he thinks of you and grow a backbone.”
character a: “oh, but i heard those are hard to come by these days.”
character b: “not if you know where to look.”
this isn’t the best example but it does show that character a knew character b was being facetious and therefore the joke came across as such.
secondly, characters playing off each other!!!!!
i think what gives characters good chemistry, whether platonic or otherwise, is giving them a reason to be around each other. why is it YOUR characters are the ones going back and forth? why does it need to be them? what’s special about them and their situations that they play off each other so well?
if there’s no answer to this… what’s the point? it could’ve been any other character; it didn’t have to be yours.
so what are some things to think about to help with chemistry?
things to consider:
do your characters have any inside jokes?
do their inside jokes come up often? in specific situations?
how long have they known each other? does it play into their comfortability with repartee?
this is a little tricky of a subject but what pop culture references can be made? for example, a jeopardy reference always gets me
is their banter usually based around them and themselves, or is it poking innocent fun at someone else?
how can you build on their environment?
how can you use wordplay to your advantage?
are there any similarities in what they’re going through in their lives?
prompts yay!
“how long do you think it’ll take for them to notice their glasses are on their head?” “give or take a couple years.” “years? i was thinking millennia.”
a response of “i’ll take Things That Never Happened for 500” when the other character says something bogus
or even “i’ll take Things You Should Take Up With Your Therapist for 200”
“okay, FINE, i’m leaving!” “oh, so there is a God?”
“what’s that show? that one… you know? with the…” “anytime now.” “the girl who like, fights crime ??? or something??” “you’ve almost got it.”
it’s raining and the character that likes to point out the obvious (which is so me) says “it’s raining!” and the other character is like “give the guy a medal.”
“wait, you’re getting back with your ex? the carpenter one?” “no, the mailman.” “oh, he was awful.” “yeah, but he always delivered my packages on time.” “… fair.”
literally anything from fleabag for inspiration
remember: banter isn’t always between enemies; it could be between friends who’ve known each other a while, or even strangers who are both waiting for their cup of coffee and go back and forth. for me as a reader and writer, a good banter scene makes you feel smart for both writing it and understanding. it makes you feel like you’re in on a joke with the characters and it’s the type of thing you would read and do that little nose air laugh (if u know u know).
anywho~ i hope this helped even a little. happy writing :)

Neighborhood Academy AU Part 2
Part 1  Part 3 (Final)
Trigger warnings: Angst, depressing thoughts, and brief mentions of suicide, unreality.
Another day, another sprint to Homeroom, neck and neck with Eddie carrying Frank over his shoulder like a kidnapped damsel this time, Frank seemed to be getting some last minute studying done.
Oh shoot! Was there a test today? You hoped it wasn’t Marketing, it could get tricky in places when math was actually involved.
“Mornin’ Frank! Mornin’ Eddie!” You greeted politely despite your jagged breaths in keeping up with the absolute powerhouse that was Track Captain, Eddie Dear.
“Morning, (Y/N)!” They replied in unison.
“Congratulations by the way.” Frank mentioned in his usual quite frankly tone.
“For what?” You breathed in confusion. Why the heck was your Homeroom so far from the front of the school anyway? Sure it's a nice way to stay in shape but it's still nerve wracking when you know there’s a high chance that you’ll be late!
“You got Rizzo in that Grease musical, and Wally got Danny so don’t worry, Sally made sure he wasn’t your exact opposite, but it's still oddly fitting.” Frank replied dryly, but well meaning.
“Did Julie get Sandy? I’m gonna feel really bad when I get into character with her.” You asked, explaining your hesitation.
“Yep, she sure did!” Eddie piped up cheerfully. “Seemed pretty excited about it to me!”
“Well, so long as she’s okay with it, that’s all I can hope for.” You mused loud enough for both of them.
Then you suddenly tripped as you simultaneously remembered why Wally would be happy with the roles anyway. That oddly specific old flame tension between Rizzo and Danny was palpable when played right. He would probably look forward to it. But then you really thought about it and…No, he’d look really forward to it if you got Cha-cha instead.
Despite tripping, you stumble instead, quickly regaining enough balance to continue on running. Somehow you saw two different scenarios for an aftermath that didn’t just happen.
One where you definitely fell, hard enough for the skin to come off your knees but not enough to bleed, didn’t hurt any less, but Eddie, bless him and Frank’s awesome friendship with you, didn’t leave you behind as the potential mailman scooped you up and carried you over his other shoulder to Homeroom. You thanked them graciously despite the pain and assured them that you were fine otherwise. You had a small first aid kit in your bag for such emergencies anyway, especially since the school was so darn big that it was a wonder that there weren’t more nurses offices in it.
The other scenario that popped in your head really made you wonder…Wally popped out of nowhere and caught you from your initial fall, slinging you over his shoulder to mimic Eddie with his significant other, and the irony was certainly not lost on you as you protested with kicking and screaming before giving up since you really needed to catch your breath anyway.
Both of those scenarios felt vividly real, visceral even. But neither happened, Wally was nowhere to be seen until you got closer to Homeroom where he was surrounded by fangirls and fanboys again. Still couldn’t actually see him technically but that crowd wouldn’t be there for anyone else, not even you thankfully. Though it was another piece of kindling to your ongoing argument with Wally about how there was no way you were as pretty as he claims you are.
Regardless, the fans crowding around the door to Homeroom was always such a nuisance. You only had one plan to get them out of the way, and honestly it wasn’t a very good one.
“HOMEROOM’S STARTING! NOW SCATTER!” You screeched over the crowd and it worked…slightly against you as now you were swimming upstream against the bunches of students who had to run back the way you came to get to their respective Homerooms.
Eddie barreled through them just fine, but you had to make yourself smaller and brace yourself so as not to get trampled. It got to the point that you ended up standing still and wasted precious time getting to Homeroom, but there were too many students, you couldn’t move…
Until someone grabbed your wrist and led you through the door. When did you close your eyes? You opened them to find that Wally was the one to drag you through the threshold and safety of Homeroom.
His gaze was intense again, but this time you were looking directly at it and it felt ten times worse than having it directed at the back of your head. He was livid.
But so weren’t you at him for a multitude of reasons, most of which haven’t even happened yet, (and some you weren’t entirely sure if they had happened at some point or not). So you stood your ground while you waited for him to say something.
“What were you thinking, neighbor? You could have been trampled.” Wally’s monotone betrayed what he was really feeling, since he sounded oddly calm.
“I was gonna be late, and so weren’t they, risky as it was, there was a benefit for everyone. Besides, raining on your pretty boy parade is still fun.” You tell him snarkily, mostly gaining confidence on that last sentence.
His stare softened ever so slightly, knowing him it was most likely from the backhanded compliment.
“You still think I’m pretty after all this time?” Wally asked curiously, clearly flattered as his smirk grew again.
“I may be shorter than you but I’m not blind…You’re still way prettier than me anyway.”  That last sentence was said bitterly, as once again you couldn’t help but make it sting for him a little, though that tended to backfire as the pinprick of tears made their traitorous little ways to the edges of your eyes again, trying to avoid him seeing it by walking past him and over to your seat.
Unfortunately for you he was as observant as ever, and grabbed your wrist as you passed. You didn’t give him the satisfaction of turning your head to look at him. Some deep internal instinct screamed at you to never look into his eyes for too long, as he could hypnotize you at any time. You don’t know where that came from, but after that weird vision of two scenarios after you stumbled, something wasn’t adding up about this year. Lots of little things that you barely noticed until now, but you knew it wasn’t safe to even dwell on them, so you refocused your mind on how you never saw yourself as ever being pretty, as physically showcased by the fact that you decided to wear shorts today, keeping the suspenders since they were nice and classy.
“How can I get it through your head that you really are beautiful, (Y/N)?” Wally asked with a hint of desperation in his voice, silently apologizing for making you cry again but not being able to voice it properly.
You couldn’t help but chuckle darkly as one of those alternate visions gave you a sneaky idea that he didn’t have to go through with… but it would be funny if he did.
“You could carry me to Homeroom like what Eddie does for Frank, but that’s not very neighborly of me to ask and it would really rain on the timing of your pretty boy parade. Otherwise, there just isn’t a way for you to get it through my head since it’s my demon to bear.” You only turned your head a little bit to him so he could hear you, but you still didn’t face him. At the last sentence you snap your wrist out of his hand and head to your seat.
Class was starting, and Wally was out of time to reply to anything you just said.
Mentally you were cursing yourself for one particular wording choice that you had no idea where that even came from. ‘Not very neighborly of you’…You supposed it was another reference to his cutesy nickname for you since his desk was next to yours…but it felt deeper than that when you said it. As if you were spitting the words in his  face without actually spitting, or putting enough venom into it. Too dangerous to do that. You couldn’t put your finger on why that was though…probably for the best.
He was staring at you the entire day of classes. Not that you looked at him directly even once, but it was hard to ignore completely when he’s in your peripheral vision.
You ate lunch on the school roof today, alone you thought. However Barnaby came up to join you. Not surprising, even after a few months you could tell that Wally and Barnaby were absolutely best friends, but in that super comfortable with each other kind of way where they were definitely just friends and not something more like Eddie and Frank. The best analogy you could think of was Mickey Mouse and Goofy.
Regardless, Barnaby was sweet enough to ask to join you first, and though you already had the sneaking suspicion he was here on Wally’s behalf, you did also leave your other friends high and dry too, so he was here for all their sakes too. You couldn’t deny him for checking on you. He even let you lean on him.
“Ya wanna talk about it?” He asked, not beating around the bush, which you inwardly appreciated.
“Depends…what is it exactly that I should talk about?” You ask back, not willing to give in just yet.
“Anything and everything really. Ya look like ya wanna vent but it can only be with specific people, otherwise ya might explode.” Barnaby offered lazily.
“You sure you wanna hear it even if a good chunk of it is about a certain pompadour wearing cactus?” Grateful as you are at being allowed to vent, you couldn’t help but warn him anyway.
“Cactus?” Barnaby questioned in confusion.
“It’s a play on words in this case. Wally’s smile is cat-like, and what are cacti? They’re prickly.” You explain a little, not going further than that and hoping he would get the other half of the joke.
“Oh, so you’re also calling him…?” Barnaby trailed off on purpose.
“Yep.” You answer simply. “Sorry if it seems a bit harsh to call him that, but that’s why I picked a cactus specifically to make it sound more polite.” Surprisingly Barnaby guffawed.
“No, you’re good, it’s really clever!” He chuckled a bit more before getting back on topic. “But anyway, I’m all ears even if it is about him in a negative way, and I cross my heart none of it will go to him.”
“Thanks Barnaby.” You tell him gratefully.
So you rant, leaving out the weird visions from this morning or any other time from little things where you saw an alternate scenario as if it were a highly invasive memory. Even now you saw a version of yourself… jumping off the roof just to get away from…your pompadour wearing cactus. You vehemently ignored it. It wasn’t your reality after all so it wasn’t really your problem. Not now, not yet, and hopefully not ever.
In any case you explain to Barnaby that Wally’s just been insufferable lately even though it's really because of your deeply ingrained insecurity of how you don’t see yourself as pretty even though you have enough sense to know when certain clothes look good on you anyway. You chalk it up to not being complimented very often throughout your life, and Wally’s attempts, especially the elaborate ones (that he had to knock off after a certain point once it got to the principal's ears) just seemed like elaborate but harmless cat-calling.
Barnaby chuckled at the second cat related pun directed at Wally.
“I can assure you he’s not.” He assured you genuinely.
“Thanks, but that brings me to my other fear…but first I have to ask if he really wasn’t into Julie before I came along?” You asked, hesitating because the bigger question was going to sound bad no matter how you worded it.
“Pretty sure he never was, I can see why it would be hard to tell though. We all live in the same area and we all love him dearly as if we were all just family. And sure, he may be highly praised for his good looks by all the fans of the school, but out of every single one of them even after a year, he picked you.” Barnaby explained slowly and succinctly to get his point across. You were all Sophomores so his vague description of the timing made sense.
Doubt bubbled up and through your vocal chords however.
“It could literally have been anyone. I just happened to be a transfer student. A transfer student that ended up in an assigned seat near the rest of our friends.”
Barnaby hesitated, if only because he wasn’t there just yet on that first day of school when you and Wally first encountered each other, he had to hear that from the others.
“Never mind that I know I ticked him off that first day of school twice, and one of those times was when Julie dragged me out of Homeroom to show me where Sally was holding the auditions.” You continued as an afterthought to paint a clearer picture for him. “I’m still surprised he even remotely likes me after that first day, like, I accidentally stopped everyone from fawning over him dead in their tracks at my mere presence, I felt him boring holes into the back of my head after that….I dunno Barns…If he’s really serious about me, I just don’t want to be a tally on a scorecard, ya know? That’s what I’m really afraid of.” You finally admitted to him and to yourself.
Of course that was the base of it anyway, if you were going to be in a relationship, you’d rather it be a lasting one. But you would have to put some effort into it too. As it was, your heart just wasn’t interested in a relationship right now, and if he went as far as to ask for your hand in marriage after graduating and you said yes…it would only be for the tax benefits, and that’s not being honest to him or yourself. That’s no good.
Suddenly you looked up and saw another variation of yourself getting ready to jump off a different part of the roof, definitely a different variation because this one was wearing pants, but you could still tell it was supposed to be you because that was what the back of your head looked like.
Even more suddenly, Wally burst out of the doors to the roof desperately calling out your name…and heading for that alternate version of you.
You only knew Wally wasn’t part of that same vision (this time) because Barnaby reacted to him, and the vibration of the doors opening was so harsh you could easily feel it against your back.
Wally’s desperate screams of your name chilled you to the bone. Of course you got up quickly and screamed his name in turn to get him to stop, to turn around and realize that he was chasing a vision that was only an illusion.
Barnaby followed in calling his name too and running after Wally, but you were faster. Running to Homeroom every morning paid off for something after all. Regardless you had to tackle Wally to get him to stop, he didn’t fall from it, he is taller than you and apparently had enough upper body strength to brush off even physically acknowledging you, so you had to sidestep around him to his front and grab his face, and for safety measures turn him around with his face in your hands so he wouldn’t look at that alternate version of you anymore.
“Barnaby, please stay up close behind me, he’s seeing things that are and aren’t there, we need to limit his view!” You pleaded to the big blue dog behind you.
Directing your attention back to Wally who was still screaming your name and somehow not comprehending you were right in front of him, pleading for you to stay, you had no choice but to do something extremely risky. You reached an arm to cover his eyes.
“Wally? I’m right here, pretty boy! I’m not going anywhere!” You announce loudly but calmly, hoping your voice breaks through his panicking fog with your nickname for him alone.
“(Y/N)?” He whimpered. Oh thank whatever higher being there was out there, he was regaining his senses.
“That’s my name, don’t you dare wear it out. I’m gonna move my arm now okay?” You reply lightheartedly, making sure to warn him of your movements.
“Okay.” Wally said nervously. So you remove your arm and return its position by cupping his other cheek.
His eyes were wide, and his pupils were shaking, not a good sign but you could still work him through this. You walked him through some breathing exercises to help calm him down from his panic attack, and when he finally calmed down enough (that his pupils weren’t going ballistic) he asked if he could hug you.
Of course you allowed it, as you wrapped your arms around his middle to give him more security. Barnaby hugged you both from behind you for extra security. Wally pleads for you to not leave him, he sounded so pitiful, but you couldn’t promise anything.
Surprisingly, over Wally’s shoulder, you could still see that alternate version of you standing on the edge, wanting to jump.
“Hey, (Y/N).” You call out to them. With…great effort, they turn to you, and their face is flickering through different people’s faces, and you realize that they are merely a representative of you, a possibility of you as it were. “I wish you happiness.”
The collective of flickering faces actually smile, and they bow to you before dissipating in the wind.
“I wish all of you happiness, wherever you can find it.” You say to the wind in hopes that it’ll carry to any other alternative versions of you that couldn’t handle the burden of the bigger school that is Life.
Everyone on the planet is here for a reason, unfortunately it takes too long to even figure out that reason most of the time. It might even be to just exist for the sake of existing to help raise the planet’s vibration.
Ultimately, the meaning of Life is 42, as in, whatever you want it to be. The choice is yours through good times and bad. May you find your happiness soon, dear neighbor.
“C’mon, Wally, Lunch is just about over, let’s go ask Ms. Poppy if we can bake apple pies today.” You suggest lightly, slowly easing yourself out of Wally’s embrace at least.
“Ha ha ha. Okay, neighbor. But I still don’t see how there are apples in them.” Wally replies with his usual monotonous chuckle. You and Barnaby join him in that as the three of you pack up your belongings and head back downstairs to deal with the remainder of the school day.

Swinging the door open, you revealed your long-haired boyfriend holding up a small paper bag.
“Ah!” you threw your arms up in delight, “my hero!”
“5 heads of garlic, precisely as requested, sweetheart,” he smiled, as you took the opportunity to give him a tight hug.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you!” you kissed his cheek. “Aunties!” you called over your shoulder, “we got the garlic!”
Trickling out of the kitchen, you saw both of your apron-clad aunts give Eddie a look as if he had just saved the day.
“Oh, thank Merlin for that!” your tall aunt Rebecca exhaled, “Eddie, come in, come in!”
Following her eager wave, you re-joined them in the messy kitchen, this time with a boy in toe.
“So,” Eddie stared hesitantly, handing the ingredient off to your aunt Scheherazade's grabby hands, “are you gonna tell me what spell I’m assisting you guys in, or should I guess?”
Being careful to keep a straight face, you hopped up to sit on the marble counter and announced, “oh, we’re going to put a curse on the mailman.”
“R-really?” he blinked hard, either from amazement or horror.
Cracking a smile at his stunned expression, “I’m kidding, it’s just for dinner.”
“E'reway akingmay astapay aioliyay!” Scheherazade informed enthusiastically, bending down to scratch your black, purring cat behind the ear.
Rolling your eyes, you sighed, “could you please cool it on the pig latin?”
“Atwhay? utbay it'syay aturdaysay!”
“I don’t care that it’s Saturday, please communicate in a language that everyone in the room understands.”
“Geez, fine!” she huffed in a dramatic, childlike way, then turned to your boyfriend with narrow eyes, “so, Eddie,” you saw him freeze up a bit, “do you like pasta?”
“Yes…” he answered slowly, fearing what power this information could grant her.
“Would you like to stay for dinner since you so graciously came to the rescue?”
“Yes, ma’am, thank you,” he let his shoulders relax a bit.
“And please drop the ma’am thing,” she pleaded, as you jumped down from the table and inched closer to Eddie, “I’m not gonna bite you, darling.”
The tight-lipped smile that he flashed her quickly grew genuine as you came up to whisper in his ear, “she won’t, but I will…”
