Summary: Eric agrees to accompany his human girlfriend to her office Christmas Party just to freak out her co-workers.
A/N: Hey y’all! This is Day 3 of Fluffcember, I’m excited to share this one with you since Eric Northman/Alexander Skarsgaard is...well, I’ll be in my bunk. Enjoy!
No one at the office believed that a nice girl like her would be a fangbanger. She didn’t like that term at all, and would give anyone in the office who used it a thorough verbal beatdown. This had led to her being somewhat isolated at work. She didn’t get invited out to happy hours anymore, nor was she clued in to the hot office gossip. Most of it was about her nowadays, so she didn’t care.
Her relationship with Eric Northman was none of their business, but she wasn’t going to take their close minded ignorant backwater bullshit lying down.
So she had invited him to the office Holiday Party.
Her six-foot-four Viking God of a vampire boyfriend was more than happy to oblige.
“Should I put on the whole show? Fangs out and everything?” Eric asked as he maneuvered his corvette to the valet stand at the hotel.
“Not unless provoked. Just no drinking from anyone I work with, please.” She kissed his cold cheek before getting out of the door that the valet had opened.
“Wouldn’t dream of it,” Eric said. He watched her legs lift her up and out of the car, loving the way the green velvet dress she wore hugged each of her curves — he couldn’t wait to shred it later.
The hotel’s event room was fully decked out in holiday spirit. Eight foot decorated trees lined the far wall, green and red ornaments glistened in the lights. Silver and gold tinsel hung from the ceiling. A deejay was set up and playing holiday music while most everyone was mingling and enjoying the open bar.
All the noise, save for Bing Crosby’s crooning from the speakers, died down at her entrance with Eric. He glanced about the room, his arm wrapping protectively over her shoulders, and then broke out what she knew to be his PR smile. Perfect white teeth on display, fangs hidden of course.
They made their way to the bar, Eric’s arm over her the entire way. People began talking again, mutters this time, and she knew it was about the man by her side.
“What are they saying?” she whispered to him as she took a sip of her old fashioned.
“That you look stunning and they’re all jealous that I get to fuck you tonight,” he whispered back. She scoffed.
“Yeah right. We can make the rounds, say hi to my boss, then go to dinner,” she reassured with a squeeze to his hand.
“We can stay all night if you’d like. I don’t give a fuck what they think of us.”
“I don’t want to lose my job. Let’s start on the rounds.”
They made their way around the room, chatting with her co-workers — or rather, chatting at them since most of them were gobsmacked at the sight of Eric and couldn’t form sentences. Her boss and his wife were able to muddle through some polite small talk, and her one non-vampire-hating coworker, Patrice, was rather enthusiastic about meeting him and even gave him a hug.
The two of them danced a slow dance and downed another free drink before taking off. Once they were in the car, Eric turned to her with an offer.
“Come work for me.”
“At Fangtasia? I’m way overqualified to be a bartender.”
“I have other businesses. You could work for one of them. Or,” he paused, looking at her from the corner of his eye and sliding his hand up her thigh under the green velvet dress, “You could start your own company. I know you’ve got some plans for yourself. Let me make them happen.”
“So you want to be my sugar daddy?”
He chuckled, “I prefer the term ‘principal investor’.”
She considered a moment. She and Eric had been seeing each other for almost a year without him getting sick of her. He wanted to invest in her business ideas. Ideas for a business she would run. Not having to report to any jackass boss or deal with her idiot coworkers.
It was tempting, to be sure.
“I’ll think about it.”

My ADD Medication Journey - Dec 18, 2023
12/18/2023 – Monday
1st dose taken at 7:30 am
Packed a couple of granola bars in my lunch to snack on one or two hours after taking meds
Was noticeably fatigued waking up despite getting a proper night's sleep
Don't recall being woken up in the night, felt like I slept the whole way through
About an hour after taking meds, noticed slight increase in energy
Possibly because I've completely woken up
Two hours and energy is good, focus is good
Not noticing any increase in tremor intensity
I intend to try two doses today
Friday's 2 doses and sleep suggest that acclimating to the change in chemistry is required
Insomnia might be a temporary side effect
Will note my findings tomorrow
Unsure if this is related to the medication or if it's just a point in a cycle
Noticing reduced craving for soft drinks (usually Coke)
Convenience of access still provides temptation, but it isn't as strong
Been drinking water more than anything else
Possibly just at a point where I'm less interested in the sugary taste
Possibly no longer needing the stimulation due to the medication
Unsure, but will continue to monitor
Noticing suppressed appetite, still eating my granola bars to prevent low blood sugar
Noticed uptick in tremors after eating, not enough to be a hinderance
2nd dose taken at 12:30 pm
Originally intended to take medicine at 11:30 am, but got wrapped up in work
I should try to set a regular schedule for taking my medication and put in a daily reminder on my phone
Today was the office Christmas party and lunch was provided
Unsure if there was enough citrus in the food to affect medication absorption
Not noticing any major changes in tremor intensity – though the office being so cold doesn't help
Focus is still good, mood is still good
As of 2:30 pm, still not terribly hungry and doing well
The rest of the day passed without incident
Did not notice any increase in tremors
Energy and mood remained at a good level
Appetite was not terribly strong by the time I got home, but ate dinner anyway
Interested to see if I sleep like I did on Friday, or at all
