Bangalore

Anita's not too into cuddling. If you wanna cuddle then sure, but it's not really her thing. She usually likes to lay on her bacck and wraps an arm around you most times and lets you do whatever. Sometimes she'll sleep back to back with you.

Caustic

Cuddle? With him? Absolutely not. Immediately no. This man hates even the IDEA of cuddling, buuuuuutttttttt if you're lucky, he'll let you sleep on his chest. If you wanna cuddle, you'll most likely wanna catch him when he's dead tired and half asleep which is most times never.

Mirage

Witt on the other hand LOVES to cuddle. He's a lover and it's his favorite pastime and it's very reassuring to him and it makes him feel like he's keeping you all to himself forever. He will cuddle with you any and everywhere in any position. He's most fond of spooning (big and little), you laying on top of him or him putting his head on your lap.

Octane

Cuddling? He said it wasn't his style. But he might let it slide if he's in a serious committed relationship. He likes to move too much so I'm not sure how comfortable you'd be. Cuddling also makes him feel vulnerable and he's not into that. If you somehow get him to sit his ass down (mostly when he's about to crash), he'll want to lay his head on your ass or have you lay on his chest or try to have sex with you. He won't stay there for too long unless he's about to go to sleep or he's high.

Wattson

Another one that absolutely adores cuddling. She's got hella blankets and pillows and nessies and body heat and nice lighting and love! She'll want to talk about whatever's interested her recently so you better listen!! She doesn't really have a set cuddling position, it really just depends on how comfortable she is with being touched and how comfortable she is with being touchy.

Apex Legends Coffee Shop Orders

what the legends would order before/after the games (reminder that coffee shops don't just have coffee):

Bloodhound

I don't see Houndy getting anything with espresso in it, mainly teas.

Possibly a tea latte, Earl Grey with almond milk

Most likely drinks after a long game, especially as a kind of reward if they won.

Gibraltar

Definitely would either be a lemonade/coconut milk mixed w/ fruit refresher, or specifically the paradise drink from Starbucks.

Before or after the game, definitely if he won, he'd drink on it.

Lifeline

Definitely a shaken espresso girl, keeps her awake and alert for her work. She'd either add cold foam or cream/milk to sweeten it up a bit.

Mostly before, so she has the energy to get through the game. But if she's tired after and needs the boost, she'll get it after as well.

Pathfinder

Wraith

Unable to drink, but would most likely order a strawberry creme blender if he could.

After and before, he would basically be a frequent customer.

Anything hot, with a cozy, warm taste to it, such as a chai latte with gingerbread syrup or hazel/toffee nut.

A nice, cozy after game drink to relax.

Caustic

Bangalore

Definitely something hot but basic. She barely knows coffee, so she doesn't really do anything fancy.

Can see her ordering a caramel macchiato.

Definitely after to cool off/relax.

Mirage

Just hot black coffee, dark roast.

Before and after, probably the only thing he drinks tbh.

Octane

He's constantly trying everything, forgets if he's tried one before, and gets it again. Also, always asking the barista for recommendations or what something is.

Never give him coffee, please, he doesn't shut up and his ADD/ADHD goes crazy.

He'd either order before or after/doesn't have a preference.

Wattson

Same as Mirage, he likes to try EVERYTHING, but he likes to try putting anything and everything into one single drink. Including his stim.

The barista's last brain cell eventually explodes and just gives him a latte, in which he, of course, puts his stim in it.

For the love of god, keep coffee away from him. If you think his fidgeting is bad now, just you wait, HE WILL NOT STAND STILL.

Definitely an order before a game, just to give him even more energy (that he really doesn't need).

She'd be a blender or refresher kinda girl. She'd like the smooth texture along with being able to taste the flavor more than the coffee, but she definitely would love the Star Drink from Starbucks as well.

Before or after, a nice refreshment to either get herself ready for the game or cool off after a long game.

Revenant

Crypto

Definitely just a regular chai, iced or hot, doesn't have a preference. He doesn't get anything added in it but changes the milk to either oat or almond.

Most likely sipping on it while working so before and after.

Loba

Can't drink, but if he even could, straight fucking whiskey.

Before and after, he wouldn't care.

Rampart

She would definitely get an iced white mocha with raspberry added, along with raspberry or vanilla cold foam on top and oat milk.

Definitely, after as a way to cool off (yknow how she is when she sees rev 🙄)

Horizon

She'd go for a dirty chai, it gives it a toastier taste and she loves the added espresso to give her more energy throughout the day to keep her up and working.

Before and after, probably get it before, sip on it, then come back to the same drink after and continue it.

Fuse

Medium roast with some oat milk for creamer and may add a nutty syrup to give it some flavor. But if she's in a hurry, just the medium roast, she's fine with black coffee too.

Most likely, after when she's back to her work, she might get some before if she needs a quick wake-up.

He's definitely not a coffee person, more on the alcohol side of drinking. If Houndy took him to the coffee shop, he'd probably go for a small black coffee so he could put his beer or whiskey into it to mix.

Probably after since he'd be with Houndy.

Seer

Valkyrie

Chai latte with oat milk and matcha cold foam on top. The mix between the earthy taste of matcha mixed with the cinnamon flavor of chai makes a perfect cozy combo hot or cold, and she loves it, that is, if she's not drinking.

Before and after, she'll drink it even during the game if she really wanted.

Ash

Some fruity ass shit

Definitely a refresher of some sort, mixes the strawberry acai with the passion tango tea, or the pineapple passion with the passion tango tea.

Would most likely wait until after the game.

Mad Maggie

Can't drink, but would most likely go for a medium roast over ice, added milk as creamer.

It would definitely be after the games. She deals with so much shit.

Newcastle

She'd use the coffee shop to cover up the fact that she's drinking her whiskey. She's not a beer drinker like Fuse. It's straight whiskey for her. She'd get a black coffee, roast isn't a preference, and then mix in her whiskey.

Before and after, she's tired of everyone's shit.

Vantage

Black coffee, medium roast, splash of half & half on the top, maybe some vanilla syrup or sugar cane to sweeten it.

Most likely before, to wake himself up enough and be prepared, morning coffee is a dad essential.

Catalyst

Not much of a coffee person instead prefers the non espresso drinks, especially the fruity choices. The Dragon Drink from Starbucks would be something she'd choose, especially blended.

Before or after, not a preference for her. If it was a hot day, especially after.

Ballistic

Not a hot coffee kinda girl, even in cold weather, loves iced coffee/drinks. Especially loves the tea lemonades. On a hot day, a fruity tea with lemonade, on a cold day, an iced cold brew with a nutty flavored cold foam on top.

Before or after, either works for her.

Conduit

Definitely goes to the coffee shop with Newcastle. Their dad vibes just kick it off nicely, especially when it comes to them both sharing their tastes in coffee. He likes to go for the same as him, but instead of the vanilla, toffee nut is his sweet spot.

Before if he's relaxing prior, but definitely after since he put in a lot of work.

She absolutely loves the coffee shop and goes to it every day to try something new she's never had. She's a sucker for any holiday drinks, hot or cold, especially the Christmas selection.

She tends to go after since she's always talking with the legends a lot before heading into the games.

#Unexpected development in covid nursing this season #Generally the intensity of covid itself seems to be less #Compared to this time last year #I guess different variant plus widespread vaccination in the older demographic especially #So now rather than high octane respiratory nursing #It's worked out now that we've got room and there's a rolling forever outbreak #That now we are getting send all the cancer oncology renal haematology patients that test positive #So now instead of general medical nursing #It's leaning much heavier towards oncology nursing #Which is. Idk there's a shift #Usually with medical it's a really obvious decline as people go towards end of life and we can make it relatively graceful #But man brain mets are another beast #There's a patient I never met but was just there for the edges of #And I think it will be a while before they don't linger in my mind #I'm so glad the family were onto it and we're accepting and understood her journey #And she was able to pass peacefully with them there #But man I'm glad I wasn't the one who had to make those calls #I was guiding the new grad with advice but they ultimately made different choices than I would #Luckily the patient and family's wishes were able to be followed #But imagining the what ifs of me being in that position had me bursting into tears again #Good practice #I'd have to know to find my voice and ask the question - do you want me to call a medical emergency or do you want some quiet?#That's not a question we usually have to ask because it's not usually so quick so the goals of care can be updated #Cancer cw

Slow and Steady

Summary: Octane needs some love because he's a sad boi and I want to cuddle him.

It was the middle of the night when her phone vibrated on its charger from beside her. The nightstand buzzed against her ear, rousing her from the deep slumber that she happily cuddled up in. Groggily, and with sleep still clouding her vision, she fumbled around until her hand snatched the offending device from its charger.

"You up?" the text read.

"I am now. What tf do you want, Tavi?"

"I couldn't sleep." Ah. So that's what it was.

"Yours or mine?"

"Halfway to your place now. B there in like 5."

"Lock up again once you get here. Bedroom door is open."

With her final text to him, she placed her phone back on its charger -this time with the vibration alert off- and attempted to doze off to sleep once more. She quickly fell into that in between realm where you're not really asleep, but you're not exactly awake either. Every little sound was picked up by her ears, but her mind didn't register it. Not until the bed dipped beside her and a different kind of warmth pressed against her back. She sighed and turned on her side so she could face that warmth. It enveloped around her and pulled her in, lulling her back to sleep. She sighed in content as a pressure rest against her chest.

"Thanks for keeping your door open." Octavio murmured into her breasts, his breath tickling her skin.

"Any time, Tavi." she replied.

Her fingers automatically tangled into his short hair. It was such an ingrained action at this point. Her body had memorized his to the point where she could see behind her eyelids all of his scars and blemishes. Her fingers could map him out even in the dark.

Octavio wrapped his arms around her waist, holding her close as he cuddled into her figure. His hands skimmed under her tank top to scratch at her spine. He liked to do that. It helped keep him calm and grounded during the night when his mind wouldn't stop screaming at him. She, on the other hand, cradled his head against her chest like a mother would with her baby. She cupped his face and pressed soft kisses to his hair line. He'd hum and whine into her skin at this, which prompted her to softly tug at his colored locks to settle him.

"I'm sorry I keep bothering you." he started to hushly sob against her.

"You never bother me." she assured and pressed another kiss to his forehead.

"Stop lying. I bother everyone."

"That's not true, Tavi. You're wonderful to have around."

"I screw up everything. I break everything I touch." he sniffled. She could feel a wetness seep between her breasts.

"No you don't. I'm still here, aren't I? You haven't broken me."

"You'll get tired of me like everyone else. Even Ajay can't stand me."

"Ajay is your best friend. Sometimes best friends fight and they need some time away from each other. But she always comes back because she loves you. And I do too."

Octavio gripped onto her a little tighter, trying to stifle his onslaught of emotions. This was such a routine at this point. He'd always come to her, word vomit whatever was on his mind, cry a little bit, fall asleep, then inevitably he'll be gone in the morning and then deny whatever happened that night.

He was utterly broken in more ways than one, and her heart ached for him. Octavio Silva was a great man who was conditioned to believe otherwise. She's spent many a night trying to convince him of his worth, but the years of neglect and constant berating from everyone around him forced him to be distrustful of others. But that didn't stop her from trying still.

She consoled him as he cried, scratching at his scalp and pressing soft kisses across his face. She pulled the blankets up around them to surround the two of them in a comforting warmth. As predicted, he managed to cry himself to sleep after awhile. She knew he'd be gone before the morning sun could rise, so she took the time she had left to continue to soothe him in his sleep. His breathing was slow, and his heart rate a steady metronome. This was the only time he ever truly seemed at peace. When he was awake, he masked his pain with laughter and adrenaline-filled stunts. But here, like this, he was peaceful. She liked to tell herself that she had a hand in his comfort. And maybe she was responsible for a small part of it. Regardless, she was glad he had these moments.

Eventually she too fell asleep, her arms still wrapped around him as she cuddled him into her chest. When the sun roused her from her sleep the following morning, her bed was cold and empty. Not even an outline of his figure remained. She sighed but got out of bed anyway to get on with her day.

I mean, if TFA can have Red Alert’s human-translated gender be female despite originally being a male in G1, I don’t see why Astrotrain and Octane can’t have their human-translated gender be female, nonbinary, genderfluid, or something else along those lines.

Heh, I like to think that Astrotrain - being kinda a solitary bot travelling long distances between city states - could either just have no pronouns just because of being detached from a whole lot of politics might do that to a mecha, or may just adopt several pronouns that are different depending on city dialects/languages. Sorta just like an ‘i’m not a functionist designation’ mentality and being named Astrotrain rather than a label of mech versus metal kinda idea-

I guess in converse Octane might go by she/her because she’s one for breaking the mould even if it IS simply translation more than an actual functional ‘not a label’ Astrotrain avoiding any 3rd person pronouns. It wouldn’t affect frame shape too much (yes TFA bots tend to differ body type when under she/her, save for Strika our big buff boss) half because she doesn’t have an official TFA design, but also because a commercial airliner is no small alt and it would suit just being bigger even if Octane also is long.

It's weird historical anon again with a bit more to think on. I seriously think Alastor was a lindy-hopper- when you think high octane athletic jazz dancing that's lindy hopping. Throw your partner into the air catch them and try and set the dance floor on fire with your feet? Yeah, that's Alastor's absolute JAM. So, imagine Lucifer taking Mimzy's advice- couple of drinks some good jazz and boy he's got a dance lesson and a half he's got to try and keep up with. Takes a few minutes for Lucifer to actually just RELAX and have FUN with it which earns a genuine smile out of Alastor. Charlie is just happy to see her father so carefree for once. Alastor, for his part, is just glad to have another dance partner that can keep up with him.

i've been thinking about the sonic movies a lot lately and honestly the more i think about them the more they kind of piss me off but that's not what this post is about because i was thinking about how i would've written them if i was in charge and i know i've spoken before about how i would've made tom a fire fighter or park ranger instead of a police officer but honestly? i don't think i would've had sonic end up with tom and maddie at all. the small town rural life really just doesn't fit sonic. he's high octane high energy and maximum cool and living in a sleepy town of like a thousand people doesn't pass the vibe check for me (as much as i cherish #nebraskan sonic)

like i just think it would've been more interesting if he'd wound up living in the city. you know? it's not like it would've been impossible for him to hide there. ofc there's the teenage mutant ninja turtles route where he hides in the sewer but honestly i don't think he would've needed to do that. there's plenty of empty/condemned buildings in cities. he could've camped out in one of those and set up his living space there, OR and this is very funny in the ironic sense, he could've lived in an empty, disused water tower. that's basically like a cave but it has a VIEW. since they're situated high up, i can just picture a shot where he's sitting on top of it looking out over the city wistfully...

anyways as for WHO he'd eventually end up connecting with i think the choice is obvious. rachel... she has so much more swag than tom and more importantly she's RIGHT about everything. plus her kid is the one who gave him his shoes canonically???????? i just think it'd be fun for sonic to have a human adopted sibling like if he's already getting adopted by a human why not go all the way and give him a whole human family yk.

i was imagining in my head some interactions like once rachel finds out he's been living alone for the better part of a decade she's like ah. I See (<- barely contained rage at The Owl for doing that to him). well, you're going to get chili dogs EVERY night. and sonic is like "i love chili dogs :)" and she's like "i know you do baby <3"

idk. basically rachel deserved better

Out of curiosity, how far ahead are you on the comic? I mean, you must have it all planned and written out, but I imagine that you are drawing the future of Aurora even while we're reading it.

So is Arc 2 already illustrated and ready for upload while you're on like Arc 5 or something? I'm by no means undermining your need for a break; I'm shocked that you've been uploading continuously for over 4 years at this point. I'm just interested to know how long it takes a person to make something this great. And also if you change any details in the final edit?

Basically: what's the workflow like?

Also I think you low-key inspired me to pick up painting as a hobby. I'm ready to pour so much money into creating things that I know I'll hate. :)

God, arc 5? That's a very generous assessment of how fast I can draw!

Typically, when the comic is updating regularly, I keep a buffer of 10 to 20 completed pages. Right now, in the interest of taking a break, the buffer is 0 completed pages.

Chapter 1 of Arc 2 is completely storyboarded, meaning it's sketched out, the dialog is all mostly finalized barring last-minute rephrasements, etc. It can be read in its current form, it just looks unpretty. In fact, just for fun, here's a sneak peek!

In the next month I'll go through and finalize as many pages from this chapter as possible - which means locking down the panel borders, fleshing out the backgrounds, lining, shading, coloring, polish, etc. - which will be the process of building up a new buffer for when the comic starts back up again in January. During that time, I'll also be storyboarding Chapter 2 and as much of the following parts as I can manage.

I have the next several chapters and sub-arcs planned out in loose timelines - event A happens at location B leading to consequences C and D, stuff like that. Chapter 2, being the closest, is a little more fleshed-out, with a more detailed bullet-pointed timeline and various character ideas I've had that might or might not make it into the final version.

What exactly the chapter breakdown is going to look like is a little more complicated. Initially I'd planned for Chapter 1 to be low-stakes downtime and Chapter 2 to quickly kick off the high-octane adventure again, but when I started bullet-pointing out the stuff I wanted to do in Chapter 2, I ended up with a big pile of slower-paced character moments I thought were well worth exploring, so the runtimes might stretch a little.

Translating those brainstormed notes into storyboards and dialog is what I would classify as the "writing" part of this process. It happens at an erratic pace largely determined by the whims of whatever muse decides to get me in a headlock that day; sometimes I go weeks with no storyboarding progress, sometimes I hammer out fifteen pages in one day.

It's kinda like weaving, to me. The soon-to-be-arriving parts of the story are the most finalized, the most densely woven. A little ways beyond that, things get looser - some patterns may be locked down, but the actual work that'll hold it together hasn't been done yet. And in the far-flung future arcs, it's just the basic bones of the story and a pile of the threads I've planned to use. I know the shape of it, but in order for it to be fun and engaging for me to make it, I need to give myself room to be creative when I'm putting the whole thing together.

I actually have a file called the "Toolbox" that contains every random character or subplot idea I've had, and sometimes when I'm debating where to go with a chunk of story, I'll crack it open and scan through to see if anything jumps out begging to be used. Lotta fun stuff in there that may or may not ever see the light of day. Dropping stuff in the Toolbox is one of the most fun and freeing parts of the process for me!

I’ve noticed a very positive response to my posting of my Transformers Adventure Game animation thing. And I appreciate that a lot, so I thought I’d share a bit more about the concept I’ve been playing with! And share some more art I did for it!

Bit of a disclaimer. I wouldn’t even know where to begin programming a thing like this, so this is just a concept atm. Not a sure project by any means. That said. Info dump about it plus a couple expression doodles under the cut.

The player plays as Freshstart, a mediator bot from Cybertron sent by Shockwave to help sort out some internal squabbles amongst the Decepticons. The bickering amongst their forces is really dampening morale and efficiency, so Shockwave figured it was finally time to do something about it. The player starts off meeting Soundwave and Rumble in the severely understaffed and unused Decepticon Conflict Resolution Office for a quick tutorial. They’re given three major conflicts to sort out that will act as the main story points and most of the map of the Nemesis opens up to them to explore. The main three quarrels do drive the story, and the more the player progresses on them, the more they move ahead plot wise. But I also imagine lots of optional side quest arguments scattered around that can be helpful or fun to complete. Probably would be a nice surprise for the player if they do all of the side quests. I have a few thoughts about the three main Decepticon arguments and the plot. That’s all quite loose as of now, but here’s a very brief summary.

Quarrel 1: Triple Trouble Every so often, one of Astrotrain’s model trains goes missing, and Blitzwing is certain that this is no accident. And the culprit has really done it lately! Whoever it was snatched Astrotrain’s favorite Woowoo! Blitzwing is geared up to pin the blame firmly on Octane since he’s the only one who shares the Triple Changer quarters with them. When the player arrives, he’s already accusing him of stealing the trains. Astrotrain maintains that it surely wasn’t Octane, and Octane has strong points against Blitzwing’s hasty conclusion. But Blitzwing isn’t backing down. Octane isn’t surprised by this, but he is upset. So the player needs to help find the missing trains and figure out what Blitzwing’s problem with Octane is.

Quarrel 2: Constructicon Conundrum The Constructicons progress on a new building project has been completely halted by some personal issues that are coming up. They all seem rather frustrated about their living arrangements, complaining about each other’s worst roommate habits, and they’re not getting anything done. They refuse to agree on anything regarding the project as long as they keep bickering. The player needs to help them remember what they like about sharing a space since they seem very close. These sort of things come up every now and then with roommates!

Quarrel 3: Stumped by Seekers For the past, many weeks, Skywarp and Thundercracker have been getting into these longwinded arguments that go nowhere in the main hangar. Most of the other winged Decepticons have no idea what they’re on about, and many of them seem to think Skywarp is just picking on Thundercracker. Talking to them doesn’t even seem to shed much light on the situation since their argument seems so vague, and it does seem to be Skywarp just being nasty to a degree. Soundwave will direct the player to Starscream’s office for a more informed perspective. The air commander enthusiastically to help sort out things with the other seekers, but the devious jet also seems to have some more…shady work in mind for the player as well.
