Emma Stargem - Spirit Walker and Honorary Detective

Age: 20

Level: 42 Death

Personality: Upbeat, social butterfly, compassionate, cunning, generous, a little pranksterous

Status: Doing good! Living stellar best life with her family and myriad of friends.

Story: The Spiral used to be a game, and Star loved the social aspect of it. She was the kind of player who would host parties in her castle and lend a hand to new wizards, but didn't care as much about the main gameplay as her twin Emma had. When Nora corrupted the Spiral, that social interconnection was absolutely snapped. The only folks Star had left were her siblings and the NPCs who had just gotten the rudest awakening of their now-unscripted lives.

Star stayed in Wizard City with her little sister Savannah while Emma was off doing savior things of his own in Grizzleheim. Thanks to her status as a 'senior student' and being Nora's cousin, she quickly found herself involved in helping tame Wizard City's portion of Aberrant magic: Aberrant Death that roused the legions of Undead that Malistaire once summoned and Nora had quelled years ago. Star didn't mind this new normal of trying to dispel these old dead; it was a way she could help out without straying too far from what home she had.

Though her connection to Nora would not let Star rest easily. The Arcanum sought her and Savannah out after Emma had little choice but to ask them for help. Of COURSE Star wanted to be able to help (or at least see) Emma, and the Arcanum's promise of extra tutoring definitely sweetened the deal, as Ravenwood Academy had paused nigh-indefinitely thanks to the Undead uprising.

Star quickly made friends with some of the Arcanum scholars, including Qyburn Stellargaze, who introduced Star to a set of neopronouns that Star just had to take for herself. "It fits my aesthetic, yknow? Gotta commit to the bit." Star's relationship to her primary mentor, Qismah, was a bit tense though. Stellar bright belief that one's life ought to be filled with as much joy and whimsy and carpe-diem'ness as possible BECAUSE of the inevitable solemnity of death was a stark contrast to Qismah's more stoic and poised views of discipline and quiet respect of the living and dead alike.

Star was content with studying under the Arcanum and helping the scholars however she could, but calamity struck in Karamelle. Nora, who had been absent, villainized, and assumed dead for years by the Spiral, was calling for help. And the help that Star and the scholars were able to bring was too little too late. Nora was killed, eaten alive, and all that was left of her was her pet, some crystallized Storm magic she had left behind, the damages she had caused, and an absolutely heartbroken family. Most hurt was Nora's baby sister, Iridian, now guardianless. Star knew the Arcanum may have been a good place for herself and Emma and Savannah, who all wanted to study magic and help the Spiral in their own ways, but it was not a stable home for a young growing child.

Star's friend from another Spiral, Owen Macheca (@saturniidaze) offered to let Iridian and the three sisters move in with their own family in the (Multiversal) Reconstructed AU (@clockwork-fiends). Star technically was old enough by now (or so stel thought at the time, 17 years old) to not need a typical home with familial adult figures, but she wanted to stay close to Iridian and Savannah, take care of them, be a constant for them.

Star now lived a life with a foot in both Spirals, but the Macheca family was quickly becoming Star's main home now. And when other multiversal madness swooped in and stole Emma away, Star nigh-permanently pulled away from Wizarding. Her family needed her more than the Arcanum did, though stel would always be a friend to the Arcanum. Rather than a foot in both Spirals, she had both feet in (MV)R! and a hand in CS.

Things quieted down once Emma was saved. And a new chapter of Star's life, complete with an entirely new universe unlike any Spiral, was beginning. Owen had a dear old friend that they named a father, Akhtar Vice (@stormyykat), who could not remember his own death from 15 years ago. With her own experience with necromancy and the evergreen desire to help out however stel could, Star joined Owen on investigating what should've been a cold case.

Key word: should've.

Things got incredibly messy. I can't delve into it in a basic OC intro post. But from that experience, Star gained many new yet strong connections to this new universe and a passion for private detectivework. This universe, which quite closely paralleled the Earth Star remembered before getting stuck in her first Spiral, became yet another home to her. Star comfortably and truly lives with a foot in the Spiral and a foot in this other-Earth. Modern but still magical (including all the game-mechanic magics, much to her newest friends' bewilderments), bohemian but still involved.

Just a humble request for you to talk more about your OCs! I like them a lot- especially Nova I love their design it's so silly

I haven't touched on Nova too much because I recently got into Rping with my oc wolf! But here's a quick sketch from a few weeks ago of Ash, Wolf, and Nova interacting with a friends oc!

Like I mentioned before, Nova is a protector. They won't mind the introduction of new workers into there little colony.

Wolf's an assumed orphan, she was found wondering the woods by a colony who fought back against DDs. She had severe head trauma and was on the verge of death but this funny little guy named Maxim repairs and raises her!

I'm still working on him but here's a few key points in the story

-Maxim is a modded drone and a product of a partner company of JCJ

-He's admin to a Nanodrone prototype called Nx (Nix)

-Nixs code was ripped straight from the solver. (because humans are smart /s)

-Nix is a problem that attaches itself to Maxim, who happens to be a solver host

It's a buncha silly information that I like talking about and I have a lot more but I get so anxious talking about it. Also the story is a wip so things are subject to change!

Things I’ve decided are Canon TM for the Andorian First Contact AU (afc!au):

From other people’s fics-

Per @theandorianimperialarchive ‘s fic series on AO3 (which I’ll link in a reblog because it disappeared from my tabs 😭) the P’Jem Commando Quad did meet in a Vulcan POW camp.

I also really love their Andorian-Orion interaction concepts… which is to say it has excellent world-building that has destroyed me. Would not recommend reading that part if you’re squeamish or if you couldn’t handle Soval in the chair. Let’s just say that I absolutely want to destroy the Orions after reading that more than the Xindi wanted to destroy Earth in ENT S3.

The main universe Andorian cultural exploration is high key a yes in this, but that’s the 3rd(?) part of their Mirror Tales series. It’s sad but also really cute.

Emigre is required reading for cultural things as well, not sure if the author has a tumblr but READ IT. It’s very well thought out it’s unfinished though. The Keth system is quite interesting, I’m not sure if it’s fully like the Bajoran d’jarras or not.

There was another fic inspired by Emigre which I will also link once I find it that had some cool cultural exchanges as well (it does involve questionable blood transfusions). Also unfinished. And I think they may have gotten Keval’s name wrong? Unless they created a new OC. Their interpretation on quads is interesting but I’m a fan of the 4 genders and I’m also keeping the bottleneck semi-canon (it just gets put off another century).

@toebeans-mcgee sent @deepspacedukat an ask a bit ago that I loved about Andorians being able to sense human pheromones and LIKING it, unlike Vulcans. The gist is that’s why Tholos thinks T’Pol smells good in P’Jem.

My brain-

The Andorians were just checking out Earth to make sure they weren’t going to be attacked (again). They had no intention of keeping us except we kind of won them over (the pheromones probably have something to do with it).

They’re more helpful with technology than the Vulcans are in the normal ST canon but still very secretive. We end up getting some rudimentary shields from them eventually for the NX project but we do have to make them ourselves. We do give them rudimentary transporter tech in exchange (only cleared for inanimate objects, not people).

Humans colonize the moon and Mars successfully before building the NX-01. Transporter technology becomes advanced enough that they can piggyback beams through several orbiting stations and ships to supply the colonies. Mars looks nicer than we see in Terra Prime (ST:ENT).

Transport ships (mostly) have Warp 3 capable engines by the time NX-01 construction begins. The Enterprise has a Warp 5 engine still until the Xindi arc when it gets upgraded to a Warp 6 engine (part of the 6 month layover is running tests).

The Andorians introduce us to the Betazoids because they think it’s funny we look so alike. They don’t expect us to make friends with them because humans are still a little squicked by telepathy. We surprise them.

Pre NX-01 engine tests end up with us meeting Vulcans. They’re ‘okay’ by human standards and help repair the ship’s warp field generators. The Vulcans end up introducing us to the Tellarites (not sure how yet, probably through the IME) and we get along after the adjustment period (after all, Tellarite manners are a 180 from most human cultures).

Part of the reason Andorians continue to help/trade with us is because Earth is Space Australia TM and has a lot of medicinal plants (for aliens). The IME does request human doctors once they find that out. Hereford/Herford Medical School (HCOM- Her(e)ford College of Osteopathic Medicine) is a popular IME selection pool. Because this is my own thing I can put my OC’s in it and I will, but you can also ignore it if you want. Totally down for anyone to borrow this au if they give me credit.

The Andorian Government is very upset with us being so friendly towards pretty much their two biggest Space Rivals that they nearly cut all contact with us (and they would if it wasn’t for those plants that they can’t synthesize compounds from).

By the time the NX-01 is flight cleared we’ve met Klingons (IME? Some ambassador accidentally getting into a duel? I don’t know). The first mission is still the same. T’Pol is still the science officer, Phlox is still the CMO, Earth tech is mostly the same but works a bit better. We still have hull plating along with the shields because humans do love a backup system.

Pretty much (so far at least, unless I have more thoughts) all the ENT episode canon is still canon except for the not knowing Andorians, Tellarites, and Klingons.

anyway uh. cringe is dead here's a woman ive been writing for the past 7 years now.

only did her head bc anatomy is fucking hard digitally.

anyway when girlie was young she volunteered for an experiment about immortality and died terribly but not completely. she spent years trying to navigate her new life and come to terms with her death. nowadays she's a magical researcher and archivist, studying the odd phenomenon of magic within humans (superheroes and supervillains), and she vows that she'd never let any of her own magical research endanger another's life.

and yea she's. an undertale oc and a soriel kid technically but she doesnt really interact with her original universe these days. her second life is in another universe. part of her main arc growing up was about accepting that she didn't need to go back "home", because home is where the heart is. and her heart is not with the person who killed her, or her parents who had no choice but to move on and go their separate ways.

Last night I got high and wrote a program to find all of the unused elemental symbols. It turns out there’s 585 of them and it’s much less interesting the next day.

One interesting finding: I couldn’t be bothered to generate all possible one and two letter strings, so I asked ChatGPT to write me code that would do all that for me. It worked surprisingly well!
