Everyone's talking about their OC's so lemme just tell you all about mine real quick.
Firstly - I cannot draw! But I can use artbreeder.
Name: Darius Radner.
Age: 41 (Born 7th November 1980).
Height: 6ft6/198cm.
Build: Stocky muscles.
Hair: Brown, greying.
Eyes: Honey-brown.
Job: Ex-detective, now a carpenter.
Brief backstory:
Darius, the oldest child in a nuclear family, had a pretty normal childhood. His mother stayed at home while his father worked away on an oil rig, regularly sending money back to support his family. His younger brother was annoying, as sibling tend to be, but not an evil menace.
He did well in school, and was not popular, but managed to be well liked enough. He even acquired a girlfriend, a young woman by the name of Molly. They fell head over heels for each other, and by 19 had tied the knot.
After graduating school, Darius headed straight into the police force. He had always been fascinated by crime, and wanted nothing more than to live the lives of his story-book heroes. This led to him becoming completely focused on becoming a detective.
His obsession over his work put a strain on the marriage, as well as his insistence on Molly being just as his mother had. A stay at home wife. You see, Darius had unfortunately inherited some rather misogynistic views from his father and mother's dynamic, and would often try to force Molly into compliance.
These weren't the only strains on their relationship. Molly wanted a baby. And after five years of trying, she urged Darius to come with her to the doctor's, where it was revealed that Darius had a low sperm count in his semen. While he found this lucky, as he wouldn't want a kid just yet, Molly was devastated. She tried to convince him to do IVF, he resisted.
After finally landing his Detective rank, Darius would come home to find his wife gone, along with all of her important things and the majority of her clothes. A long note left on their bed told of her frustration with Darius choosing how they lived. How he controlled every detail and never let her be her own person. So she'd left.
They divorced through contact with a solicitor, a clean break with no alimony. She wanted to move on and begin her life anew.
Darius also felt numb about the divorce. He had to sit and question if he'd ever really loved Molly, or simply wanted someone to take care of him when he got home at night. He certainly wasn't bothered by her lack of presence. Nor did he remember important details, like her mother's birthday. No, he just felt annoyed that he had to make his own lunch.
His opinion on women only got worse with the knowledge that Molly had been unfaithful before leaving: something he found years later. He rarely dated again, instead preferring to hire escorts that would complain about his roughness. The few dates he did go on found him to be too stand-offish and insensitive.
But at least he had his job, right? The one he'd been so determined to keep?
He did, for eleven years. His partner and best friend Ricky was his rock, his daughter Amy like his very own niece. So when news got out about their Captain having raped her? He'd went ballistic. Captain Williams went to sleep that night with his face bandaged up in the ER. And with no evidence, Darius lost his job, and poor Ricky had to keep his mouth shut to keep his family fed.
Full of rage and bitterness, Darius sold his suburban house and downsized to a smaller home on the edge of a rural town. He just wanted to get away from everything - ironically just like Molly years prior. There, he picked up a carpenter job. Carpentry had always been his hobby, when he was able to settle down for a few hours. He still struggles with a drinking problem that he's had since he got fired. Not to mention his short temper and dislike for other's company.
Even with his jaded view of the world, he still finds himself rather lonely. And the family that just moved in the next house over has a very attractive eldest.
