Shower time
Here’s a fic that I’ve been working on for a good while now and I’m finally content with posting it. It’s sfw even though it’s a shower scene. Mostly fluff (?) and a tiiiiiny but of angst.
Disclaimer! This story is based in the Borderlands and it mentions blood, wounds and trauma from it. It’s not about how they got injured, but more so very mildly describing that they are injured. I consider it sfw but it does contain nudity since they’re taking a shower, but I’m not describing bodyparts or anything. Also, small references to sex just for humor, but there is no smut whatsoever.
Oh, and the reader doesn’t know that Chishiya is a doctor.
I’ve written and am posting on mobile so I’m sorry for any formatting issues.
Tumblr media
”I’m going to take a shower.”
With strong steps - actually more like a wobble - you walked into your room at The Beach, Chishiya following close behind you, watching your every movement just in case you would trip over your own feet, like you already had done about 30 times since you left the game area. It had been a rough one and it had left you wounded, exhausted and a bit lethargic. Not to mention the strain it had taken on your mental state, like the games always did, but you had turned off your feelings for now and had only one goal in mind: a long, warm shower to wash off all the remnants of the game.
”No you aren’t, it can wait until tomorrow.” Chishiya sounded like he always did, bored and condescending, but you knew that there was some worry in there somewhere. Otherwise he wouldn’t have bothered to follow you all the way back to your room, offering to catch you when you’d eventually fall.
”I feel gross. I’m covered in … stuff.” Blood. You were covered in blood. You raised your arms to make your point clearer, in case he missed what an absolute mess you were right now.
”Fine. Come on then.” Chishiya sighed, walked around you, and went towards the bathroom while you stood confused, watching him open the door and look back at you before stepping inside.
”Wait, what?” you asked, eyebrows scrunched together in confusion. Why was he joining you?
With slow steps you followed him, wondering if he got the wrong idea. He was gorgeous, but sex was the last thing on your mind, especially shower sex. Didn’t he say that you were in no condition to even take a shower to begin with? You stopped in the doorway and waited for a response.
”You most likely have a concussion, you’re wounded and you’re exhausted. You’re going to collapse by yourself.” He turned on the shower and let the stream of water fall, waiting for it to turn hot.
”Okay, okay, doctor.” The smirk you got back confused you even more. Did he have a thing for being called ’doctor’? It wouldn’t suprise you, he was a mystery. But even him would surely have preferrences. Wait, why were you thinking about sex again?
You shook your head as you walked inside the bathroom, limping past Chishiya as he was making his way out again. Or so you thought. In the corner of your eye you saw him stretch, but it wasn’t until you turned around that you saw what he really was doing.
”Uhh, why are you taking your clothes off?” Your eyes widened as his hoodie hit the floor. He had no shame, appearantly getting naked with you without warning was completely normal in his world.
”I’m getting ready to help you when you realise that I was right. Don’t worry, I won’t join you until you ask me to. Which will be soon, so I’m preparing for that.”
You didn’t know if you should feel thankful or offended by what he said.
Chishiya however, smirked again, cocking an eyebrow at your dumbfounded look. He was enjoying this. While still looking at you he started to pull down his shorts. Your eyes were fixed on the pile of clothes he had created on the floor, which thankfully wasn’t added with more pieces since he decided to keep at least his boxers on. The daring look he had on his face when you turned your eyes back up was annoying. Did he like that you were looking at him? Not that you were looking at him like that anyway. You just wanted to take a shower. Or so you told yourself.
With his shirt and pants off he sat down on the toilet seat, turning around so that he had his back against you and the glass wall of the shower.
”Go ahead” he said, a hint of amusement hiding in his voice. ”I won’t look.”
”You better not” you huffed back at him, watching him carefully while you started to remove your own clothes, ripped apart and stained with blood. Instead of putting them in a pile you threw them straight into the trashcan. Once removed, you looked into the mirror over the sink and you almost gasped at how wounded you actually were. Cuts and bruises covered your arms, legs and back. Patches of your skin were stained red, even your face still had traces of blood left on it. You looked terrible.
Sighing, you stopped studiyng yourself and looked over your shoulder. Chishiya was still sitting with his back against you, shoulders rising and falling slow with every breath, the muscles of his back tensing when he moved. He looked soft. You wondered what he would look like wet.
No! This was not the right time to daydream about Chishiya and his pretty back, his blonde hair that fell in waves over his shoulders, those shoulders that probably would feel great to hold on to while your lips were… Oh, for fucks sake, just get in the shower y/n.
After disrupting yourself from your thoughts you made your way into the shower, closing your eyes as the water started cascading down your body. The glass wall seperating the shower and the rest of the room was conveniently half covered with frosted glass so that it covered most of your body, from your shoulders down to your knees, making you a bit less embarrassed over being naked in the same room as him. Being naked in front of someone when it wasn’t sexual wasn’t your idea of calming, and even though he had no shame, you still had. This was too intimate, too casual. But if it was what it took to take a shower then you’d do it. Even though you didn’t like to admit it you did trust Chishiya to treat you with decency and respect. He might be considered one of the people you shouldn’t trust in the borderlands, a bad person perhaps, but not bad enough to overstep someones boundaries like this.
”Let me know when you need me.” Chishiyas voice rang somewhere in the distance. Not even a ’if you need me’. He was too confident and it just made you even more stubborn. You were definitely able to take a shower by yourself, you were damned to not let him win this one, you told yourself while reaching for the soap. With unsteady hands (no, they absolutely weren’t unsteady because you were tired) you started to scrub the dirt off yourself, one part at a time. You hissed whenever you discovered a new wound you weren’t aware of and eventually the pain from it made you a bit dizzy. No, you could do this.
You clenched your jaw as you continued, slowly moving from head to toe, covering yourself with suds. Finally, everything you could see and feel was gone, so you let the stream of water fall over you once again, closing your eyes, enjoying the warmth that it gave. You felt your muscles relax, your breathing slowing down, your eyelids getting heavier…
”Chishiya…” you mumbled weakly, mad that he was right, again.
”I’m here.” A voice right behind you made you jump. You turned around and swung your fist towards him, ready to punch him out of pure panic, but he caught it before it landed on him. The borderlands had really done a number on you, you were constantly prepared for survival and appearantly even Chishiya was a victim of your anxiety. ”Calm down, it’s just me.”
”How long have you been standing there?!” You wobbled to the side as you tried to fight your bodys urge to fall onto the ground from the sudden movements. Chishiya steadied you by holding your upper arms, and helped you turn back around so that your back was facing him again.
”You moved slower and slower so I was ready when you called for me. I haven’t been standing here ogling.”
”So you have been watching me?” You didn’t even think about the fact that you probably flashed him completely just now. Well, if he saw something he didn’t care about it, which was comforting in this situation.
”Of course. I couldn’t see anything other than your head anyway. It wasn’t quite the show you think it was.” Chishiyas voice was dripping with amusement.
Once again, you didn’t know if you should be thankful or offended.
”Give me the schampoo bottle.” Chishiya asked, or rather commanded, reaching his arm out next to you so you could hand him the bottle. Once he got it you could hear him shake it before opening it and pouring out some of the liquid in his hand, followed by a low thump as he put it on the floor behind you.
Slender fingers moved over your hair, softly massaging it with his fingertips, giving you full body shivers from the way his fingers drew circles between the strands. It felt nice. Safe. You couldn’t help but to close your eyes again and just relish in the warmth radiating from his hands. He was so careful with how he touched you, slow and gentle while he worked his way through all of your hair.
A part of you wished that he would step closer so that you could feel the warmth from his body wrap around you, so that you could lean back and relax in his arms, just enjoying how your body would feel so at ease while being comforted, but you had no idea how to ask him for that without it sounding sexual.
”Shower head, please.”
You did as he asked and handed him the shower head, turning up the water pressure while doing so to make it easier for him to rinse.
”Close your eyes and bend your head backwards. Tell me if you feel dizzy.” Chishiya didn’t sound so stern this time. His words were soft and comforting, asking you to trust him. So you did.
He rinsed your hair in silence. One hand holding the shower head while the other one kept massaging your scalp, making sure to rinse out the schampoo properly. Even though you desperately tried to relax and just enjoy the feeling of being taken care of, you couldn’t stop your emotions from seeping back into your mind. Pictures of the game were flashing before your eyes. People screaming. Fighting. Lasers going off.
”Chishiya…” you whispered, no longer able to stop thinking about what had happend earlier.
”Mhmm..?”
”There was a child there tonight.”
He didn’t answer but you could feel the movements in his hands stiffen as he continued to rinse your scalp free from schampoo.
”I didn’t know that there were children here” you continued, trying to get the thoughts out of your head so you wouldn’t be tormented by them during the night. ”I thought maybe we were sent here to repent or something like that, that we were getting what we deserve. But why would a child deserve this? Even if we are all randomly sent here, without any reason behind why it’s us in particular, why would they choose a child?”
”…I don’t know.” He sounded emtpy when he answered, not that you were expecting his words to be comforting. They rarely were. There was a long pause before he spoke again. ”Did the child make it?”
”Yeah…” A shiver ran trough your body when Chishiya stopped rinsing your hair, already missing the heat from the water. Another thump came from the floor when he put the shower head down. ”Some of us worked together and protected him as much as we could.”
”Do you have conditioner?” he interrupted, sticking his hand out next to you so that you could hand it to him. You placed the bottle in his hand and watched him retrieve it. A click of the bottle cap was followed by another thump when he put it down on the ground. You wondered how many times he must’ve stared at your ass by now.
”Anyway,” you continued, shaking the image of him smirking at your butt away. ”That’s why I look like this. I took the hits for him.”
”That sounds like you.”
You hummed at his words. It was reassuring that you were considered to be a nice person, even in this hellscape.
Gentle fingers threaded through your hair again and you leaned into the touch. It went by faster this time since he didn’t need to scrub, although you wished he would keep doing this for hours. Every time he let go of you - this time to pick up the shower head again - the ache in your body took over, making you tremble ever so slightly even though the steam from the hot water was surrounding you. You were relieved when you felt the water against your back, contently closing your eyes and bending your head back into Chishiyas palm.
”I envy you sometimes.” Chishiya mumbled, so quiet that the sound of the water almost drowned it out.
”You do?”
”I wouldn’t have helped someone else if it meant that I would have to work for it, let alone get hurt from it.” Chishiya paused briefly, like he was choosing his words carefully. ”Especially not a stranger. You didn’t think twice about doing so.”
”I don’t believe that.” You cut him off before he got the chance to put himself down even more. ”You’re better than you think, Chishiya. Just look at what you’re doing for me right now.”
”I’m washing your hair, I’m not saving you from dying.” You could practically hear him rolling his eyes.
”You don’t have to save me from death to help me. This is helping me. Besides, from the sound of your attempts to stop me from showering, I could die in here if you didn’t help me.”
”Maybe I just wanted to see you naked” Chishiya joked with such a monotone voice that anyone else would think he was serious, but you knew better. Well, if he was serious he had gotten his wish - paired with a fist coming at his face.
”Right” you snorted, too tired to laugh. A blush still crept over your cheeks, imagining his eyes on you in that way. ”Keep telling yourself that if that makes you feel better.”
”There” Chishiya ignored your answer and handed you the shower head. Cold air rushed to your skin as the water left it, leaving you almost begging for him to continue. Would it be so bad if you did?
”You can turn off the water now. I’ll get you some towels. Stay there.”
With a pout you put the shower head back into it’s place and turned off the water. Behind you, you could hear how Chishiya was gathering towels from a drawer, his footsteps making their way back over the tiled floor that would be cold and uninviting for your own feet in a second.
”Lift your arms a little.” You did as he asked and lift your arms halfway up, stopping waist high, only to see Chishiyas arms poking out from under them, holding up a towel that you thankfully grabbed a hold on and quickly wrapped around yourself to try to regain some of the warmth that the shower had given you.
”You’re safe to turn around now.”
”Thank you” you quitly replied as you gently spun around, just to be met by a still undressed Chishiya with his own towel hanging around his neck and a soft expression on his face. If you didn’t know better you would think that he was worried about you.
A smaller towel was in one of his hands - which soon landed on your head, covering your face at the same time. Your sour expression that was revealed as you peeled it off made him grin.
”Do you want help to dry it?” He asked, eyes shiny from amusement, and watched as you stubbornly started to squeeze the ends of your hair, too tired to lift your arms up and dry it completely.
”No, I’ll just put the towel over the pillow when I sleep. It’s fine” you replied, following his example and put your own towel over your shoulders. The chill in the air was starting to really get to you, and you decided that you couldn’t get to the bed fast enough. Just thinking about laying down, surrounded by warm covers, maybe even a pair of socks on your feet at first, burying your head on the pillow…
”The wounds on your back looked fine but I still need to cover some of them with bandaids. I need to examine your front too. Let me know when you’ve covered up so that I can check your arms, legs and stomach.”
Ugh, why did he have to interupt your dream about your bed with another naked request? You just wanted to sleep.
”I’m sure I’ll be fine Chishiya” you groaned back at him, slowly (and unsteadily) making your way past him and towards the bed. You could see the light at the end of the tunnel, just a few more steps and you’d reach the doorhandle, that doorhandle that would open the gate and lead you straight towards the nice, warm, fluffy….
You groaned even louder when you felt a hand grip your arm, stopping your weak attempt to get out of the bathroom and keeping you still while Chishiya made his way around you so that he was facing you again. That calm face was back and you didn’t like it.
”Please, Chishiya, just let me sleep” you pleaded but to no avail.
”Come here.” You had no choice but to move after him, not being strong enough to even attempt to break loose from his grip on your arm, that was keeping you somewhat steady as you plopped one foot in front of the other until you reached the end of the bathroom. Then - lo and behold - Chishiya opened the door and led you out into the hotel room, making your way straight towards the bed. Right as he reached the foot of the bed he stopped and slowly turned the two of you around in a circle so that your back was now facing the bed, and then pushed you back so that you fell down on the soft duvet cover with a yelp. It felt like heaven to finally lay down, like a cloud was enveloping you and taking you with it to the land of dreams.
”Where are your underwear?” Chishiya once again interrupted your inner monolouge.
”Why? Wanna see them so badly even though you’ve already seen me naked?” You rolled your eyes and leaned your head to the side so that you could watch him dig around in a dresser until he grabbed the first, best pair of panties he could find and threw them at you.
”Put them on please, unless you want me to examine you naked. I’m fine with either way.”
You just huffed at him, secretly liking the playful look he was giving you. When he turned his back to you, you managed to shuffle around and get your panties on, just to let your legs fall back down onto the bed with a loud thump. God, you were exhausted.
”I’m done, doctor.” Once again, he reacted with a grin and you were now positive that he had some wierd doctor patient kink and that you were so going to make him confess that. A mission for another day.
Chishiya sat down next to your legs and reached over them to pick up a first aid kit you didn’t even know was laying next to you. Was he a wizard too?
You kept still, listening to the opening of packets, a liquid poured onto what you imagined was a cotton ball, and then your own hiss as he touched the first wound on your leg. It wasn’t the liquid that hurt, it was just the tender touch from the gauze he dabbed against your skin that hurt enough to make you wince. He must have started on a bad one.
”Try to keep still” he murmured gently, sounding like he was completely occupied with his task of tormenting you just a bit more before letting you sleep.
You stayed as still as you could, trying to concentrate on his hands and fingers working their way over your legs, dabbing it with the liquid, letting it dry, then putting a compress and some adhesive tape over it like a home made band aid. His touch was so gentle that it was barely there.
Your eyelids turned heavier with every touch of his fingertips and even though your wounds were stinging, his warm skin eased the pain afterwards and comforted you without knowing so. Before falling asleep you murmured a ”thank you.”
The last thing you remembered was the feeling of being enveloped in something warm, probably the cover that wasn’t underneath you and a soft whisper.
”You’re welcome.”

Random AOT Headcanons - Modern AU
(ft. Eren, Connie, Sasha, and Jean)
summary: Stuff I couldn’t formulate into a coherent or long enough post. Kinda fluff? I just want them to be happy tbh🥺.
a/n: Mostly character traits for my fic temperance! 👀 But honestly, this is how I picture them in general. I’ve been missing my own story lately (even though I’m literally responsible for writing it💀).
Tumblr media
Eren:
Addicted to those shitty mobile games. He’ll turn on airplane mode just so he doesn’t get stupid pop-up ads.
Since he’s an avid mobile gamer, if he’s out of whatever resource he needs, he’ll pay that $2.99 for a ‘booster pack’ or whatever.
Hates cilantro. Despises it. He gets lowkey mad when he sees it on his plate💀
Has those ‘Ken’-like senses whenever Mikasa needs him. He will drop whatever he is doing to save his girl!
If Mikasa is shopping at Aritzia- Eren will probably chill on the boyfriend couches or play with the arcade machine. Like I said before, since he has those ‘Ken’-like senses, he’ll immediately stop whatever he’s doing for Mikasa (she’s perfectly fine and just dropped her chapstick).
Listens to anything Metro Boomin produces. Also, listens to Mitski (Class of 2013 fs).
Connie:
His ringtone is ‘Gucci Flip Flops’ by Bhad Baby. It started off ironic just so he could piss Eren and Jean off, but he’s now one of her biggest stans.
He won’t stop playing ‘Gucci Flip Flops’ (while he’s in the shower, getting ready, cooking, etc.) to the point where Eren and Jean have threatened to evict him. Connie says they’re “Silencing female musicians” and continues playing the song.
HE IS A HOT GIRL! HE LOVES MEGAN THEE STALLION!
Likes to wear beanies in the winter.
Adds extra marshmallows in his hot chocolate☕️.
Has an extensive shoe collection (mainly Jordan’s).
Posts those: ‘Show younger you or a bad [insert month]’ templates on Instagram. (He genuinely believes that not posting it will curse him).
Sasha:
Avid Google Maps user. Only to find really good hole-in-the-wall restaurants, though.
Writes restaurant reviews on Google Maps for fun.
Gets mad when said restaurants become popular (my sister in Christ- you wrote the reviews telling people to go there…)
Her favourite music consists of Fleetwood Mac, TWICE, New Jeans and old country/blues.
She cries over those little Korean baby variety shows whenever she gets them on her for you page.
Always carries a packet of ketchup and hot sauce in her wallet.
She gets those ‘This was meant for you’ tarot card readings on TikTok and watches all the way through.
Sends those OBSCENE emoji chain mail text messages to Connie and Jean because it’s funny.
Jean:
Posts gym photos like a harlot.
Sends Connie those ‘Post younger you or bad month’ templates because it’s funny to see him get flustered…
He really likes pop-punk music and one direction (I don’t make the rules).
One time, he walked in on Connie and Sasha watching Ru Paul’s drag race, and he was being such a little shit disturber about it. Until he realized four hours had passed and he was already watching the Queens getting fitted for their final looks.
Rise and Grind- Chicken, rice and unseasoned broccoli mf… Until he got bored of prepping the same meals. He’s become a better cook because of it!
He and Connie love getting high and fucking around while baking those Betty Crocker cake mixes (funfetti or chocolate).
Jean’s favourite movie is The Big Short.
One time, he sat on a Nutella sandwich Connie left on the couch, and Eren accused him of shitting himself. Jean got so heated that they almost fist-fought until Armin had to mediate.
Tumblr media
a/n: I’ve been procrastinating napping💀… I’m gonna do that now and work on my Geto fic… hehe…

yes it was! no pressure but id love to hear more
yeah ofc!! I’ll try to keep this short and keep it to THREE sources that introduced me to it! Would love to see any…more recent sources if people wanna add lol I’m not here to argue; I’d love to discuss though! This is just how I came to learn it!
Why Defensemen Take Longer To Cook: The Theory’s Basis
My introduction to that theory came from 2015’s Don’t Take Your Eyes Off the Puck by Greg Wyshynski. Which is good! It’s a p solid overview if you’re looking for something that feels accessible and not condescending. Are there better sources out there? Sure! But it’s fun and comprehensive. I like it, sue me. (I mean, don’t, please, I’m just here to make friends but. I do like it!)
Anyway, it makes the case that successful defenseman are smart defenseman. Specifically, knowledgeable defensemen, those that have the ability to create a “mental Rolodex on some guys” (Ch. 4). The best defensemen are those that KNOW their opponents, who are able to get into a game and know EXACTLY what the guy they’re up against is gonna do. If that sounds difficult, it’s because it is. And more importantly maybe, it takes time. It takes time to develop that reflective knowledge about the person you’re skating out to defend, if they’re a passer or shooter, if he’s favoring one move or another, if she’s gonna try and get net front before you can blink.
Further, it’s why teams have defense most often as “quarterback.” Forwards play a reflective, muscle memory kind of play. Defense has a different, systems-minded play style. Just like a quarterback! But that, too, is more time. It’s just more mental work on top of all the reactive play that the game of ice hockey itself demands.
Or, as this 2018 article asks: is that thinking just faulty? I think this is an interesting, different POV and no less “real.” The article studies the Sabres which, in the time since it was written, added Owen Power as ANOTHER first overall defenseman pick in 2021 in addition to Rasmus Dahlin, and also brought on Erik Johnson as a veteran first overall defenseman presence in 2023. They may be the pros at watching and waiting, with frustration and pain, for their defense core to FINALLY bloom and blossom. (Can you tell I love Buffalo? Sorry, sorry. ANYWAY.) This article makes the case that it may not be actual mental time at all. It may be just trust. Here’s the thesis:
“[…] It would seem it’s inaccurate to suggest that “defensemen take longer to develop,” but rather more accurate to say “It takes coaches longer to realize how good they are.””
Compelling! And that may be true! Because…
It’s worth something, too, to say something about the position as a whole. Which is to say it’s changed dramatically in the most contemporary version of the game. Defensemen are leaner, lighter, more mobile to reflect a faster and more delicate game than in the past. When we know, though, that it’s about coaches—do all the coaches know how to coach a position that’s dramatically changed? Do they know how to coach a young defenseman who has only known this SUPER fast and mobile and lean game of the 2000s and 2010s? This article from 2015 is a p good one, but that was almost nine years ago! It’s still shocked at small defensemen, saying “If you look at a […] Karlsson, 20 years ago, [teams] would’ve looked at them, [and said], ‘They’re not real big, do we have a job for them?’ And now those guys are premier guys.” We’ve definitely evolved, but it illustrates how we were changing our thinking even then. We also know that GMs and coaches are still REALLY excited by big defensemen so have we really changed…? I’m unsure. Still. The best coaches understand the change that’s come for defensemen since they’ve been players. But it’s worth noting because not every team has the best, smartest, more innovative coaches lol.
Tl; dr—defensemen need more time, whether it be for building a library of knowledge/strategy, trust with their coaches, or getting stronger/bigger for coaches who still believe the best defensemen are Just Plain Big.

Minji x Reader: Game on
Tumblr media
Permanent Taglist: @cwpiqwon @justme-idle
2016
"Oh my god, Y/N, get to the lane now, you're throwing my ranked game" She teased as you rolled your eyes "I'm coming, I'm coming, watch me carry your 2-4-1 ass." You shot back, earning a swift smack to the neck "You got lucky, but thanks for the save bro." She said, a smug smile on your face as you finished the team wipe. "Some would argue I deserve a kiss for that." You proposed, leaning in close as she smirked, leaving a light kiss on your cheek. "Of course my love."
Current day
Sweat dripped from your brow, your thumbs twitching. This was make or break time
From the side, you could faintly hear the commentators.
"Can Ursa do it? This is the final push made by CK, and with Ursa's Miya at half health and K's Alice with both her Winter Truncheon and Petrify on cooldown, it's going to be a tough fight against a full team of 5. And OH! It's in! Alice has popped her ultimate, initiating the team fight. She gets controlled by Franco but what's this? Ursa activated her inspire and OH CK IS COLLAPSING, TRIPLE KILL, MANI-, OH SAVAGE, URSA HAS DONE IT!" The commentator screamed as you breathed a sigh of relief, your mage was down but you had managed to get the enemy team, securing the win as you ran to finish the base. "And just like that, ZG has won the 2022 MLBB tournament! MVP of course goes to the captain of ZG, Ursa! Using a relatively off-meta character like Miya all season, enemies have grown to regret underestimating Ursa, now let's go over to the podium to have a chat with the MVP!"
At the podium, you were all smiles as the interviewer asked the routine questions. "So, Y/N. How do you feel about the win?" "The team is ecstatic. We've worked our whole season to this, and to see our efforts be rewarded is great." "There has been rumors of you retiring soon, not uncommon for someone of your age in the esports industry, comment?" "No comment." "There's been talks about you collaborating with MLBB for an ad? Care to comment on that?" "Yes, and I'm really excited about it. That's all I can really say for now, ML please don't fire me." You jokingly pleaded to the camera, as the reporters chuckled at your reaction "Before I let you go, anyone thing you would like to say?" "I just wanted to thank everyone who has supported me through my entire career, including a very special person who has been with me all this while." You said to the camera, smiling as the reporters clambered, excited for new gossip.
Meanwhile, at the dorm of NewJeans
"Where are th-, Minji Unnie!" Hyein shouted out, frantically pushing around the kitchen cabinets, pulling her leader out of her thoughts. "Where are the cup noodles" Hyein shouted, as Minji scurried over, opening the packet for her. "Still watching that competition?" Hyein commented as Minji held her phone away defensively, before turning away and looking at her screen longingly. "Stop teasing her Hyein-ah, you know she loves that game. She even got us into it. Haerin loves that furry too." Hanni commented as Haerin pounced on Hanni "Her name is Joy!" She grumbled, as Hanni rolled her eyes. "Just remember to help me the next time I get ganked in the middle lane, Pharsa is so squishy." Hanni complained, Danielle chuckling. "Oh, Minji Unnie, Management told me to inform you, you have a brand advertisement soon!" Danielle told Minji, as she looked over, slightly confused. "Yeh, Moonton heard that you enjoyed the game so they want you to represent them for an advertisement." 'Wait, An ad for Mobile Legends?' "Did they say who I'd be doing it with?" "Yeh, that Esports pro you like so much, Y/N."
"So, Y/N, there will be two advertisements. One will be an interview with you, what got you into Mobile Legends or gaming in general. Then, the second will be a short skit, with a story centred around the game. I know you aren't exactly an actor but I doubt you'd struggle too much. Is that alright?" Your liaison texted, as you sent back a quick back an acknowledgment, resting on your couch.
"Oh, hey babe, congrats on the win today." Karina(ps, not an idol) said somewhat absentmindedly, fiddling with her prada bag. "Thanks, I got you a gift." You whispered, reaching into your bag and grabbing a small box, Karina's head immediately bolting up, a smile across her face, as she grabbed the small box from you. What was it? Jewelry? A necklace? A new watch? Her smile slowly faded though, as the box opened to reveal cards. Titled, 52 reasons I love you. Seeing her smile disappear, your eyebrows furrowed, did she not like it? "What's wrong?" You asked, as Karina quickly tried to brush it off. "I'm just tired, I'll get some rest now alright?" Karina said, tossing the card onto the table as she scurried to the room, your eyes stuck on the card that took you hours. You sighed, guess she just had a long day huh? It's been years of long days. Sighing, you went to wash up, laying in bed seeing your teammates party together on Instagram
You were lost in the maze of the production studios, taking a crew member to basically pull you by the hand to the interview sight. After a quick visit to the makeup studio, you found yourself situated in a high chair, next to an interviewer. "So Y/N. Tell me about how you got into Mobile Legends and the realm of E-sports." "It began in high school..."
2016
"Get off that game! We have midterms next week!" You shouted, rolling your eyes as your girlfriend mockingly shook her head, the both of you chuckling as you ran to her, tugging her by the hand "Who are you playing anyways?" You peeked over her shoulder, her right shoulder pushing you away as she tried to finish the game "Her name's Miya, she's pretty fun to play" She offhandedly said, the base exploding on the screen as you saw her queue for a next game. "Aish Min, let's make a deal. We study for this midterms for the next week, then I play with you after the exams alright?" You proposed, as her eyes twinkled, nodding before pecking you on the cheek, setting her phone aside.
"She taught me to play Miya, and after that, she kinda stopped due to busying schedules, so I've played Miya since." "Miya huh? Is that why you play her predominantly?" The interviewer asked, as you nodded "So is this mystery woman the same person you referenced previously? She seems like she means a ton to you." The interviewer question, as a sense of nostalgia washed over you. "No, sadly she and I drifted apart due to differing careers that took different paths. I'm glad to see that she's been doing well though! I see her on TV all the time now." You explained, the interviewers eyebrow perking up. "Oh, so she's a celebrity!" You smiled a little, shrugging as you continued the interview. Close to the site, a nervous Minji sat at her makeup table, close enough to hear the interview going on, happy that you still remembered her, but still unsure on how the encounter to come was going to go.
Stretching as you got off the interview chair, you went back to your bags. A crew member handed you a script, as you slowly read through it. "Who's Lead 2?" You asked the crew member, who looked at you curiously. "Oh, you didn't know? I supposed I could introduce you to her." She pointed behind you, as you slowly turned, seeing a lady, shrinking into herself, fingers fidgeting "Minji?"
"So, how've you been?" You asked, trying to break the awkward air between you and the NewJeans starlet. "Good, been busy with comebacks, and this should be my last schedule until I go for a break with the rest of the girls." Minji said, her eyes trailing away from you as she didn't want to catch that gaze she missed all this time. 'Get it together Minji.' "So I heard you're a fan. Who's your bias?" Minji asked, as you shot back a cheeky smile "Oh it has to be Haerin." You said, as Minji rolled her eyes, grumbling, then chuckling at your cheeky smile "Why is that?" Minji asked, a silent rage building up. "She's likes to mess with you, that's enough for me." You teased, as Minji whined. The awkward air about the two of you disappeared, Minji chasing you as you two ran around the room, Minji smiling throughout the chase, this scene not an uncommon one when the two of you were high school sweethearts
"Well, it's good to see the two of you being so well acquainted. Could I explain the advert?" The director asked, as the two of you stopped your chase, nodding. "So, we were thinking of shaking up the way we make our advertisements, and we wanted to make a new cinematic with the two of you, showcasing the story of Cecillion and Carmilla."
As the director went through the briefing, Minji felt both excitement and dread. She knew you were with someone else, and this felt wrong, but recreating a romantic story with the person who still owned her heart was almost everything she could ask for. "There's been some issues with the props so we're going to need to rework, so we'll just be rehearsing some of the basic scenes, is that okay?" The director asked, as the two of you nodded
"How is this more tiring than dance classes?" Minji panted as she collapsed into her chair, gulping down her water as you chuckled, tossing her a towel for her to dry her sweat "Oh, Y/N, are you free tonight? You want to grab dinner and catch up?" "Rain check? I've got to get to Karina. See you soon okay?" Minji nodded, hiding her disappointment as you rushed off. 'Karina' Minji thought to herself bitterly
"Minji, you're back! What's wrong?" Hanni exclaimed as she saw her leader trudge back into the house, eyes slightly puffy. "Y/N has someone else..." Minji whispered, Hanni's face morphing into a look of pity, and understanding, quickly ushering the teary eyed girl into the house. Minji crashed onto the sofa, how could things have gone so wrong?
"I won a 1 v 3 and comments still called ME a liability. Can you believe that! Minji? Min?" You stopped your ramble, turning to your girlfriend, seeing her blanking in the air. She quickly jolted up, turning to you with an apologetic smile "Sorry, I'm just kinda tired. What did you say?" She pinched herself, shaking herself awake as you were wracked with guilt. You knew what your girlfriend was putting herself through to be here. She was spending hours training to be an Idol, working herself to the bone, but here she was, sneaking away from her dorm in the middle of the night to steal fleeting moments with you. That was all she needed to keep going, but that wasn't what you wanted for her. You didn't want her to exhaust herself all to placate you. You knew this wasn't easy for her. Her deep eyebags that she attempted to hide with concealer, her bruises from hours of training that she assured you weren't serious, her near brushes at getting caught escaping. "Minji, could we talk?" You lightly held her hand, as she straightened her posture, slightly afraid at the change of tone. "I hope you know that I love you. But I don't think we can work anymore." You confessed, Minji's face dropping "What are you talking about?" Minji muttered, shook in disbelief. "We can't work, Minji. You're training for hours on end to be a trainee, and I'm training to be an E-sports player. You spend hours training, then still rush to be with me. I...I just don't think I'm worth all this effort. Your career and well-being is more important than me. Besides, once you become an idol, what of us? The media finds out and tears us down. Or the company gets to us first. We don't work, Min." Minji knew there was truth in your words. She loved you, and she loved her little stolen moments with you. But this was getting too much for her. She was pushing her body to the absolute brink, and she could feel it giving up on her. The two of you had always heard that Love required sacrifice, and that they had to fight to stay together. But what was the point of fighting to stay together, only to have to fight again? The battle grew repetitive. She knew she should have said no. She loved you too much to let you go. But this was for the best, she thought. The best for whom? For either of you? For any of you? She didn't know. But she did what she thought was right "Are we breaking up?" Minji whispered between her tears "I don't want to hold you back." You said through a small forced smile "Can you just hold me now?" Minji muttered back, you nodded profusely as you ran to her, holding her in your embrace as she sobbed into your chest. Calming her down, the two of you looked at each other, Minji and you sharing one last loving look, before leaving your house
"Hey Rina, I'm H-" You could barely speak out before she pushed you to the wall, putting her lips onto yours as you shared a deep kiss "Rina, I need to tell you something." You quickly said, in the brief moment of reprieve Karina smelled of alcohol, reeked of it. In her intoxicated stake, she held you as she tried to make out with you "I'm retiring from E-sports. Just to live a more basic life for awhile." With that, Karina bolted up, seemingly out of her drunken stupor. "Are you serious? Where's the money in a basic life." She mocked, inverted commas and an exaggerated facial expression telling you all you needed to know about her thoughts. "I just want to settle down with you, Rina. What's wrong with that?" Karina walked to you, grabbed your cheeks and pulling them hard. "Aish, Y/N you stupid little baby, did you really think I'm with you for your personality. Fuck off with that childish sentiment. What am I going to stay with you for if you're just gonna be some broke little shit." Karina spouted venom, words stabbing you and hurting you to the core. Speechless, you backed away, running out of the house, you had to get away. Far away.
"Y/N, Y/N! Are you okay?" Minji lightly nudged as you sat dazed at the set, her forehead creasing as she saw your face devoid of life, hair disheveled. "Yeh, don't worry about it Min." You tried to force a smile, running your hand through you hair as you tried to look more composed. "Here, got this for you." Minji set a cup down next to you, before moving to the makeup set. Milk tea, with evaporated milk. For the first time since the night before, an albeit small, but genuine smile formed on your face. It's been years, but she still remembered.
"You look stupid." Minji quipped, smiling as she saw you fidgeting in the clunky suit Cecillion wore "Hey, I save your life in the future Miss Carmilla, don't be mean." You chuckled, as Minji rolled her eyes "Whatever bro." Despite your lack of sleep and still being angry at Karina, you couldn't help but laugh and revert back to the person you were all those years ago, the one Minji would mess with, the one who would mess with Minji, the one laughing at Minji as she saw the suit she had to wear for her role as Carmilla. You couldn't help but miss the person you were with Minji "Do you wanna rehearse?" Minji asked, script in hand as the two of you sat, nodding in response "We can't be together, Carmilla. I'm different...your father doesn't approve of me. We don't work." You delivered the line, trying to ignore the anguish on Minji's face as the familiar line brought up feelings of regret and pain "No, I must be with you Cecillion. Our love is too great to let anyone separate us!" Minji quickly composed herself, anxiously fixing a strand of her hair "My love, I would only burden you. Don't you see that?" "My dearest Cecillion, you're worth it, you're worth it all ." Minji said, a pang in her heart. She should have told you this all those years ago. She loved being an idol, but it all rang hollow in the face of the loneliness and isolation she faced outside of her bandmates. She wanted, no, yearned for someone to care for her the way you did. Someone to hold her the way you did. She yearned for someone to love her the way you did. She yearned for you.
Sitting at your high chair after taking off your Cecillion costume, you watched on as Minji took promotional pictures of her in the Carmilla costume, her aura captivating as you couldn't keep your eyes off her, her eye smile melting you. You'd truly missed Minji. You cracked a small smile as you reminisced upon your shared moments together. Studying together, gaming together, being together, growing together. Despite being with Karina, even before events of the previous night, you never felt really happy. You tried your hardest to make things work with Karina. But it was different. Karina didn't care for you the way Minji did. Karina didn't appreciate the little gestures you would do the way Minji did. Karina wouldn't notice the small things like Minji did. Karina didn't love you the way Minji did.
Minji stood outside your changing room, nervously pacing as she pondered if she should ask you out to dinner again. She wanted you back, but you were already in another relationship. She didn't want to be a home-wrecker, especially if you were happy That concern was quickly quashed however, as screams could be heard from your changing room. Concerned, Minji slowly peeked in, seeing a blonde girl wreaking havoc in your changing room "You're leaving me? After all I've done for you!" The blonde girl shouted, Minji looking on as you stood with your hands cross, massaging your temples in annoyance. "If all you want is a piggy bank to squeeze, then it's not going to be me Karina. I can't spend my life with someone who only sees me for my money." You spoke, trying to keep your composure "Oh, so you just want that Minji girl, huh? You never forgot her huh? Get the fuck out of here, off your fucking high horse." Karina shot back, pushing you by the shoulder as you struggled to keep calm 'Me? Have I never left your mind?' "I've never claimed to be the perfect significant other Karina. I tried my best to forget about her, love you with all my heart, but it took meeting her again for me to realise that I never stopped loving Minji, but I've tried my best to make you the happiest person in the world, tried to love you with my every being, but you don't love anything without a dollar sign next to it. You disregarded my handmade gifts, only ever excited if you saw 5 numbers and above. I sacrificed my relationship with my teammates, my friends, to spend more time with you, but you didn't care. You never cared. I won't have it any further Karina." By now, your knuckles grew white, trying to contain an implosion, while the girl outside the room stood stunned, but also relieved. At this moment, you loosened your knuckles, realising the door was slightly ajar, noticing the shellshocked girl outside the door Following your gaze, Karina saw Minji, gaze steeling in recognition as she stared at Minji, anger evident.  Karina stormed at Minji, hand raised in an aggressive position as Minji stumbled back, trying to avoid the confrontation. "It's all because of you!" Karina shouted, swinging her hand down at Minji, but you caught her by the wrist. "That's enough, Karina. Leave before I call security on you. You can stay at my apartment for the next few days till you can find somewhere else to stay, once you can, please leave." Your grip on her wrist remained firm, as Karina wrestled her hand out of yours, muttering curses as she stormed off the set, crew members staring at the cause of the commotion. You grabbed Minji by the hand, but unlike the way you had gripped Karina when stopping her hand, your hold on her was gentle. Leading Minji to your room, you let her sit, grabbing her a cup of water "Sorry about that Min." You muttered, embarrassed at what had transpired with Karina. Minji was still in shock, only nodding as she sipped her water. Noticing her slight tremble, you got your jacket, draping it over her shoulder, then taking a seat next to her. "How much did you hear?" You nervously asked, struggling to let it out of your mouth. "Enough." She whispered back, as you nodded, settling back uncomfortably in your seat. "Did you mean it?" Minji asked, turning her head as she braced for the worst. "About loving you? Every word." You said with resolution, Minji looking back at you with shock. The two of you sat in silence for a short while, an awkward and tense air between the two of you as the both of you digested what had transpired. "For what it's worth, I never stopped either." Minji whispered, her hand reaching out and grabbing your hand, holding it close to her as you let out a gentle smile. Scooting towards her, you leaned on her shoulder, feeling her hand around your shoulder. "Wanna grab dinner?" She whispered "1v1, loser pay." You quipped, whipping your phone out as you stuck your tongue out.
"For old time sakes huh? Well, don't forget who taught you how to play the game L/N. It's time for the Master to humble the apprentice." She theatrically spoke as she raised her finger at you in challenge. "You're not in the suit anymore, speak normal people words Bro." You teased, as Minji came down from her comical bender, sheepishly scratching her head as she bumped you. Queueing into the game, you noticed both of you never changed your IGN, keeping the cringey couple name you guys had made way back. Looking at her, she smiled, leaning over to peck you on the cheek, before leaning down, the gamer posture breaking out "Game on my love"

Parings: Sapnap, Punz, Nolan, Quacktiy, Foolish, Karl x Fem!Reader
Summary: Stealing a Car? No. Stealing Mr Beasts Car? Yes.
Disclaimer(s): Cursing, Changing the order and landscape of the car.
♫ ― ♫
STANDING ON A CURB, balancing on it while holding some snacks snuggly in my hand. I stood near Foolish and Quackity, Quackity’s foot propped up next to mine.
The wind blew in my face, only adding to the list of reasons why I was embarrassed, standing on a curb with my hair a mess while i waited for my to idiot friends to finish the intro.
The camera pointed to us in a slight instance, Nolan, Foolish, and Punz doing weird dance moves while Quackity and I glanced at each-other- cringing at the thought of the people in the gas station looking at us.
We began walking to the car, my hands tucked into my pockets. I heard Karl’s muffled yell “Get in the Car.” He yelled as Quackity opened the door.
Foolish peaked his head in the window, his mouth slightly agape. “Can we redo that?” He asked, chewing slightly on his snack as Karl’s giggle filled my ears.
We got settled quickly. I was sitting in-between Quackity and foolish, my legs brushing against theres as i tried to get more comfortable.
Karl leaned over his seat, pointing the camera at us. “Road Trip!” He giggled. I smiled at the camera awkwardly, still not used to it. The men cheered, laughing at each other.
♫ ― ♫
"BEFORE WE REALLY TAKE OFF, we need to charge the car first." I watched sapnap speak to the camera. I stretch my legs while leaning on the car slightly, listening to the conversation and looking at one of the mobile games Quackity was playing.
"Doesn't Jimmy have to pay for that?" Karl asked, pointing the camera closer to Sapnaps face. Sapnap glanced quickly at the car, smiling while pointing to it. "Yeah, he's paying for it right now as we speak." Quackity walks away from me, going to speak to punz.
I move to stand next to Foolish, watching as the camera pointed to him as he made a face. I laughed slightly, leaning into him slightly while pointing to something funny on his phone.
Nolan was talking in the car, crinkling his bag of snacks before he began to move out of the car. "Jimmy next time you get a car can you make it much bigger," Karl told the camera, facing him as Nolan went to get out of the car.
Standing up to high he hit his head, wincing and holding his head slightly. I laughed, though it was short-lived when Nolan faced me with a playful glare.
"So we can all fit into it?" Karl continued, acting like he didn't see what just happened. Quackity got into the camera's point of view, giving it a nod as he chewed on his snack.
♫ ― ♫
SITTING IN A CAR was not your day's plan, especially not with the rowdy boys you were stuck with for hours on end. Your legs were crammed together, trying to keep them from brushing against foolish's.
Sapnap was sitting in the driver seat, the camera pointed to him from the window as Quackity approached the other window, peaking his head in. "Do you have games on your car?" He tried to hold a giggle.
Sapnap nodded, trying to keep his own laugh in. "Yeah, I do." He spoke, his head faced Quacktiy. "Yeess!" Quackitys voice overlapped Sapnap. "Let me show you my favorite one get in." They said at the same time.
Quackity giggled, sticking his leg in the car as he tried to scramble in. As he did that you were interrupted by a phone being shoved into your face. Looking back in surprise you were met with Punz's face as he raised an eyebrow at you.
You huffed at the clip he showed you, rolling your eyes while pushing the phone away. It was a stupid clip of you and Quackits first interaction on the dsmp.
♫ ― ♫
“SHH..” THE WHISPERING didn’t register in your mind as you laid there. The camera pointed in your face, the reflection of the street lights being the only light source.
Karl Giggled, his body turned around to face the camera to you. You head resting on a sleeping Quackity’s shoulder, mouth slightly open as you let out soft breaths.
Your eyes fluttered softly- showing that you were dreaming in your time of sleep. You hand lightly gripped in Foolish’s, you had been playing in it to keep yourself occupied after your phone had died.
Your mouth closed slightly, your body shifting which made the giggling men stop. Nolan received a small smack to the shoulder by Punz when he kept giggling.
Whispering a small ‘ow’ and glaring slightly at Punz, Nolan looked to the camera, mouthing something before looking back to yours and Quackity’s sleeping state.
Foolish kept his hand there, trying not to move in fear of waking you up. You body shifted, looking for more warmth and escape from the blasting cold air from the vents- that Sapnap insisted on.
Karl smiled, satisfied with the small snippet of footage. “That’s gotta be in the final cut.” He spoke, facing forward in his seat.
“Just don’t let her see it, she’ll kill us.”

In Search of Haru (Mobile)
Created by: SEEC Inc.
Genre: Otome
I actually knew about this one for a while, it's just I never got to going around to learning about the story until I finished doing this ask. The story is very short, but its sweet. The creators also made Otome Chat Collection as well as Puppy Boyfriend, the latter of which I will also try to get a recommendation done soon. The yandere in this one is Haru Fujisaki with his ending fittingly named the Dark Ending. You can watch the entire series here if you don't want to download the app.
The story starts out with Konatsu Shinosaka as a child, being bullied because of her weight. She was rather sad until a boy named Haru came to cheer her up. Her family moved afterwards, so she couldn't say bye to him but they moved back in high school. now that that she's returned, she's determined to find Haru. Unfortunately for her, there are three Harus in the class- Haruka Fujisaki, the class president; Takaharu Kiyru, the guy that sits next to her- the badboy with the heart of gold type and Haruto Yanagi who works at the library. The game is mostly just going about and hanging out with each of them in an attempt to find out who is the childhood friend Haru. Takaharu and Konatsu generally end up cleaning together, finding out that he enjoys taking care of a stray cat on campus, while Haruka generally comes to hang out with Konatsu when given the chance, and Konatsu helps in the library with Haruto.
In the endings, we found out that Takaharu was one of the boys that bullied her when she was younger, due to his insecurities of having a crush on her and general peer pressure. He returns the handkerchief and tries to confess to Konatsu, but Konatsu still being hurt by the bullying turns him down and instead asks to be his friend instead, something he agrees to happily.
Haruto is Konatsu's true Haru, and while in the bad ending one of her so called friends leak photos of her when she was younger, bullying her, in the good ending we find out that Haruto thought that she had left him because he was mean(?) to her, and got into reading after she recommended him a book. The two of them essentially changed themselves to be more appealing for the other.
In the bad ending, Konatsu hangs out with Haruka a lot, going out to eat and karaoke with her. Haruka eventually confesses to Konatsu, which he wholly agrees, but suddenly because very possessive over her, telling her to not talk to any other guys. He reveals that he knows about Kontsu's search for Haru and while he isn't the one, he tells her to stop thinking about him. He manipulates her into thinking that his is for her protection and that if anyone knew about her past, that she would get bullied again. Not wanting a repeat, Konatsu agrees, and as time goes on Haruka's possessiveness gets worse, making her not talk to other people or even touch them.
Like a lot of SEEC games, the game itself is very simple and short with one yandere ending (or character) involved. I think for a short game it is worth it since I believe it only makes you watch ads to progress the game, which isn't as bad as other mobile games I've played. The premise itself is very short and sweet with Konatsu wanting to find her childhood friend Haru and most of the events are pretty standard shojou esque things you would do in a high school.
To me, Haruka's yandere moment kind of comes out of left field since before that there's no indication that he was possessive or obsessive to begin with. He only becomes so right after Konatsu accepts his confession, with him becoming possessive because he believes Konatsu is too cute and that someone will take her away. He manipulates her into believing that he's doing this to prevent Konatsu from being bullied in a sort of underhanded blackmail kind of way. Considering that Konatsu doesn't want to redo the events of her childhood and in one ending, this very thing does happen, it's understandable why she would agree to not talk to other guys and eventually other people. It's the kind of thing where you've only realized you've made a bad decision when it's done and there's not really any good way of backing out of it.
The art style is pretty cute and simple- I just kind of wish there was more than one track of music because it's pretty tiring listening to the exact same track over and over again with little to no change. The CGs I think are pretty nice too and there's actually more than I expected from a game as short as this one.
Overall though, a cute and short game. The yandere isn't anything that's extremely big in the series, but I think that it's at least a good oneshot material. If you are interested, please check it out. This company has a couple of games with yanderes so hopefully you will see all that relatively soon!

Schedule
I work a few different freelance jobs and so my schedule is constantly in flux. I usually stream weekday at 11:00 AM or 12:00 PM in the EST/EDT timezone. I'll attach my weekly schedule for the current week below:
Tumblr media
Content I Stream/Create
I usually stream otome visual novels or joseimuke mobile games. Some of my favorites are Ensemble Stars!! Basic and Music, Bandori, Taisho x Alice, Tears of Themis, Hatoful Boyfriend, and BUSTAFELLOWS.
Sometimes I'll stream variety content such as JRPGs, scuffed karaoke (yes it is always scuffed lol), baking or decorating desserts (rare because this is messy and requires lots of planning!), crocheting, and cozy chatting content. I like to experiment with my content when I have more time in my schedule!
I'm currently working on a larger video project where I summarize the entirety of the Ensemble Stars story backlog and lore on YouTube. The series is still very much a work in progress but I do have a livestream VOD where I explained some basics about the game universe and characters which you can watch here:
youtube
I also really love music! I try to hold karaokes as much as I can and I've recently start recording covers songs! You can check out my first cover song below. It would mean a lot to me if you gave it a like as well!
youtube
Other than that I do a bit of voice acting, sometimes while I'm playing VNs I'll even try to voice over the characters. But mostly I just record short voice clips and post them to YouTube and TikTok.
Now that I have this page I hope to post some exclusive Tumblr content such as video scripts for my YouTube videos and reviews for games, animes, mangas, and novels! I'll link back to some of those posts when I do create them.

Sorry if this sounds dumb but doesn't little nightmares 2 happen after little nightmares 1? Like it's not a prequel to the first game right? Six escaped the maw and ended up on land where she them met Mono. I was watching a YouTube video that explained the games timeline.
Six acquired the yellow raincoat at the end of the mobile game after the other girl died. She then went into the water and got picked up by the ferryman and taken to the maw.
So I'm kind of confused lol. It would kind of make sense if Six's hunger was caused by the thin man but only if little nightmares 2 happened before the first game and I don't think it did. It's just as likely that Six's hunger could be a symptom that's unique to her, just like the strange powers Mono has are unique to him. Since all the creepy adults/monsters are unique and have their own individual abilities I think it would be the same for the kids.
Runaway Kid was extremely intelligent and kind of a nome whisperer lol. Mono has weird frequency powers and can travel through tvs. And Six seems to have a very fast metabolism which might allude to other abilities that we haven't seen yet, like maybe she can change her form/size under certain circumstances? We see her playing with the music box when Mono first finds her and then later after being taken by the Thin Man, so I don't think that's a coincidence.
Thoughts?
Little Nightmares 2 takes place before 1. It is a prequel.
I don't know if the Mobile game is canon or not. It wasn't made by Tarsier Studios, but it was funded by the same IP owner Bandai Co (who now, unfortunately, holds full rights which is why Tarsier is no longer working with them since they were bought by Embracer and Embracer refused to lose money to continue the LN franchise) That being said, however, just because the raincoat was seen floating in the ocean doesn't mean Six picked it up. I think it was meant to be a heavy visual to imply the girl in the white shorts is Six. The last we see of her is making her way down the mountain to a row boat below. We never see her actually pick up the raincoat. If you want to include the Mobile Game, Six somehow ends up on the The Nest (a mansion in the middle of the ocean) then rows her way presumably to land, where LN2 takes place, and then later is brought back out to sea on the Maw in LN1. The mobile game, official games, and comics have contradictory information in terms of Six's origins or rather, world-building as a whole.
if you look at old & scrapped game files on youtube, (X) and (X) Little Nightmares 2 may not have always been a planned prequel. It shows that Mono was originally going to meet a long-haired Six in an apartment in the city. At some point, she was gonna cut her hair. There's also a scene where Six is sloppily eating something in the apartment fridge, ignoring Mono. We may have even met a shadow Six earlier on. I think its safe to say the writers don't have a full understanding of their own universe, so if you don't understand something, its possible the creators didn't know what they were doing from the start and just sort of made things intentionally vague merely for the horrific mystery of it all? They were even considering adding the barber character, the one hinted to be Seven's old antagonist before the Maw (since his long hair is his style) I think even some of Mono's breathing audio was actually originally used for Seven in the LN1 DLC too (discovered this while I was editing that Channel Change video together) Anyway long story short Little Nightmares 2 is indeed the indicated prequel (even if it wasn't initially planned to be) It is unclear if Very Little Nightmares could be considered canon (Canon to Bandai, unsure if canon to Tarsier) tho canon or not, it doesn't necessarily interfere with the main game storyline regardless so it's pretty harmless as it stands;
As for powers:
I've been thinking about the Raincoat Girl / Five from the mobile game. Not sure what powers she has but I'd be delighted to explore that someday.
I have a BIG headcanon for Seven that I will elaborate on in the near future Mono has everything to do with tvs it seems. He can travel from tv to tv (signal to signal), he can time travel (reverse and fast-forward) he has minor telekinesis that can be transmitted to a larger range depending on electrical current flow throughout the city (?signals?) He has hypnosis (? people are attracted to him if there are no tvs ?) As for Six, we know nothing about her before she split into shadow Six. Shadow Six, or her hunger rather, took her to the Maw. When she reached the Lady and ate her, she inherited the Lady's powers, which appear to be soul-sucking/eating (along with maybe shadow proxies, youth-sucking/nome creation, and shadow teleportation) I have no idea what powers Six could have held prior to her hunger pains. (Some people have theorized that the Lady is much like The Thin Man, where she could potentially be a grown-up Six from another timeline, so Six and her would have always had similar powers in that aspect, but to prove such a theory is outlandishly difficult since we know so little about Six or the looping timelines.)

Is it just me or are mobile games just getting worse?
I don't necessarily mean that the stories and gameplay itself is inherently worse, but over the last decade or two I've noticed certain trends.
First up, it used to be a game would prompt you for a MICRO transaction in order to, f.ex., stop getting shown ads. It used to be a one time payment of anything from one to maybe ten dollars (rounding up the stupid 99 cent bullshit). Nowadays comparable games will sell you tickets, skip-its, to skip a certain number of ads, or charge you a monthly subscription fee, and even then these may not rid you of All ads, just some of them, the ones that are otherwise unskippable.
On the subject of ads. False advertising has always been a bit of an issue with mobile games, but I feel like it's grown steadily worse. Every other ad I'm shown is for games I have previously played and thus I can say with 100% certainty that the ads do not represent the gameplay.
I'm also seeing basically the same ad, over and over, which is apparently for 4-5 different games, despite those games being listed as different types of games. A bubble shooter, hidden object, match 3, other puzzle games all showing the same ad, solving the same exact puzzles in each, none of which are the kind of puzzle game that revolves around the puzzle shown.
This used to be the "pull the pin" sort of ad, but now it's these interlocking circles you're (apparently) supposed to detach from one another.
Same puzzles, several different games, all of it fake.
And again, on the subject of ads. There have always been shitty, poorly made, cheap looking puzzle games that were never really "games" but ad farms, where what they were farming were ad watches. Your phone, you, being tricked into essentially being soil in which they grown their profits. The companies that make these make tons of them, the first 20-30 minutes of gameplay is mostly ad free, and then it ramps up, attempting to trick you into sticking it out, trying to make use of your sunk cost fallacy to maximize their ad revenue.
And that's not the only mass produced game out there. There are companies that re-use the same assets, same images, same level designs, same gameplay, same code essentially, only released in increments and with a slight environmental design variety to imply this is a new game being actively created as you play it despite being the exact same game as the last one, two, five, made by the same group of people. The company may even use multiple names to pretend to be new so that you can't just check what else they've made and find the same game over and over.
And then there's the prices.
They've really gotten well out of hand.
For approximately 15 usd a month I can subscribe to a massive online role playing PC game with active player support, a vast variety of activities, and so on. For the same amount of money I can maybe buy a medium pack of resources in one mobile game that won't last more than an hour of gameplay, won't give any lasting benefits, won't do anything really.
Multiplayer mobile games are very often war games where the winner is inevitably whoever can spend the most money on it every month, and those are in no way affordable to most people. They also mostly advertise themselves as games of exploration or of building when in reality the gameplay requires you to amass the largest army possible and invest several hours and hundreds of dollars to prevent your base from being raided frequently enough to make any exploration or building functionally impossible.
The micro-transactions have gone macro.
In short, it feels like mobile games these days are sold to you with false advertising, absolutely stuffed full of ads, and so unreasonably expensive you're better off putting the equivalent money in a jar for a couple of weeks and buying a whole ass PC setup instead.
Being that it's not a heavily regulated market, can this not be used as an example of how capitalism breeds neither innovation nor excellence?
(Yes, exceptions exist, but finding them in the very, very, very, very, heavily saturated with trash, marketplaces, with their absolutely garbage user interface is it's own pile of excrement.)

Elemental
Tumblr media
hey look it’s me posting a non-christmas film review that’s kinda crazy! anyways i saw this film today because i’ve been meaning to and now’s the perfect time with it leaving cinemas in a matter of days.
there’ll be spoilers under the cut for Elemental in this review!
for anybody who doesn’t know of Pixar’s ‘Elemental’ is the 27th feature film to be produced by the studio and being directed by Peter Sohn (also known for directing ‘The Good Dinosaur’, another Pixar film and a Pixar short ‘Partly Cloudy’).
‘Elemental’ when it was first teased to audiences received some criticism for how it looked, i would know because i was one of those people. though unlike the other people who were complaining i was simply sick of watching the trailer after months of it being shoved down my throat at every trailer showing at the cinema, on instagram sponsored posts, youtube ads and even a few ads on some mobile games. after the film came out though this seized mostly so my opinion once again became neutral of the elements and their element city.
originally lined up to be released in the uk at the same time as the us release the film was delayed until july 7th. upon its release the film was a flop and not doing very well at all earning it the title of Pixar’s lowest grossing movie in the box office on opening weekend. however ‘Elemental’ made a come back in the coming weeks making a splash in the overseas market when it released outside of the us. there was a lot of negative press surrounding the film when it came out however stating it was “the death of pixar” and being called “woke” for the inclusion of the studio’s first non-binary character who barely actually features on screen. reviews were harsh to say the least. things seem to have softened now though and so time for my opinions on the matter at hand, the film.
i do have my complaints about my experience but those aren’t actually anything to do with the film more about having to sit next to some random child for the whole movie + opening short.
before i go into the actual film i want to quickly talk about that teaser, the first glimpse at the world of element city, and where we meet our main two characters Wade and Ember. well scrap everything you know about that because that doesn’t actually happen in the film. both Wade and Ember do in fact go on a train and some of the stuff that happens in the teaser do happen in the film but that meet cute between Wade and Ember that you see where Ember’s headphones are knocked to the ground and both her and Wade go to pick them up at the same time? doesn’t happen lol. i get that they didn’t include this in the film because it wouldn’t make sense within the context of the film and the teaser was just to give you the faintest glimpse at the world and characters. Ember is very hesitant to even follow Wade onto the train in the actual film and when she’s on the train trying to find where he went she’s very cautious of those around her and one could say she’s even scared (as stated in the film by Ember herself she doesn’t like going outside of fire town because element city isn’t built with fire people in mind and she has everything she needs in fire town). also another complaint is that i don’t remember them introducing themselves to each other properly in the film but that might just be my brain forgetting that little unimportant detail.
something i question about the theatrical poster that was used (in the uk at least) is the inclusion of random irrelevant characters. sure you have Ember, Wade, Clod and Gale up at the top but why are Marco and Polo there? Lutz too. and the rest of the characters featured are all seen in the previously mentioned teaser and really aren’t that relevant at all in the final final.
the animation in this film was wild! everything is so polished and the rendering is just beautiful. i loved the little details of each of the elemental people. my favourites were the water people for sure and i especially loved the water bubbles present throughout their bodies that come and go throughout the film. the setting for the film worked really well with it all feeling colourful and lively with the colours of elemental city and fire town contrasting each other but eventually at the end of the film after fire town is rebuilt and the other elements begin to mix in with the residents of fire town more you can see more colours as they begin to harmonise together. my favourite scene has to be the scene of all of the flowers blooming as Wade and Ember swim around the tree it was truly spectacular!
the film’s story at its core is about the experience of being a child born to immigrant parents and the challenge of trying to fill the shoes of your parents who worked so hard to give you a good life and sacrificed everything to do so. i won’t go too in depth on this because i’m not the one to talk about this because i haven’t experienced any of that, i can’t begin to imagine what those emotions must feel like but i can sympathise with them and understand as an outsider. the film also features xenophobia between the different elemental people with most of it being prejudice against fire people, “elements can’t mix” is something that’s repeated several times throughout the film but it’s not until Wade and Ember touch each other’s hands for the first time is it found that elements can indeed mix. these core parts of the film’s story come from Sohn’s own personal experiences being born to Korean immigrant parents, growing up in new york during the 70s and marrying outside of the korean culture he was brought up in.
i appreciate that Ember was able to come to the realisation that running her dad’s shop wasn’t what she wanted to do with her life and that it wasn’t her dream. and i also appreciate that her father was accepting of that and that the shop was never the dream it was Ember herself who was the dream, she was everything that they had worked for. i’m glad that in the end both Ember and her father got happy endings as Ember gets to follow her passion of glass making and her father gets to retire from working the shop everyday.
as for Ember and Wade’s relationship (a major part of the film) they’re cute together. they genuinely want to be around each other and despite their elemental differences and being total opposites they make it work because they make each other happy. they go against the long standing “elements don’t mix” that they were taught and they show everybody that they can. i didn’t really feel too strongly for the pair of them initially (though to be fair it did start with Wade writing every code violation the store came under and Ember desperately trying to get the notebook back from him before he could ruin the family business) but they grew on me. i didn’t enjoy the kiss scene but that’s just a personal thing that i don’t like seeing in movies there’s nothing inherently bad about it. it was funny seeing all the kids in the cinema’s reactions to it though.
there were some iffy jokes in there that i didn’t think we’re very funny and more felt simply weird. of course obligatory mention of the “just a bit of pruning” joke but also the “hanky panky” joke at the end when Ember and her dad are saying goodbye. that last one just confused me like are they allowed to say that in a kids a film?
my favourite character in this movie is no doubt this one water person from the first teaser who as far as i’m aware isn’t present in the final film (or at least i couldn’t spot them that is)
Tumblr media
rest in peace to this one water person in particular.
before i wrap this review up i just want to say that prior to seeing the film in my graphic communications class me and my friend were redesigning film posters and originally my friend made a poster entirely consisting of Gale and only Gale. it was a very low quality collection of Gale images as the film was just out in america. very funny considering that they just kept on using the same model for her in all of the promotional art that features her including the theatrical poster featured at the start of this post. gotta love that big smile and vacant stare, it truly looks like there isn’t a thought behind those eyes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
jokes of Gale aside i think that ‘Elemental’ is a good little film that (except for the weird jokes) did a good job of portraying the message it wanted to portray. the way that the world building was set up makes it feel like Disney/Pixar is going to milk a few more films or shorts or series out of it but personally i think that this film is good enough on its own. i really don’t think it needs a sequel but disney will be disney and no doubt there’ll be something else on the horizon if they deem it a big enough success.
overall i’d rate this film a ★★★ and a half stars out of five!

What’s your name: Jess(ica)
Sun sign: leo but like, just barely 😂 idk what being a cusp means but i'm one of those, like first day of leo
The last song you listened to: i haven't listened to any music today except for one of those musical comedians, this one was about a guy whose friend was flirting with his dad and it was a banger lmao, twas hilarious
What are you wearing right now: the practical all black outfit i've been wearing (unfortunately) for most of the last 3 weeks as i work backstage crew for a musical. usually i change between work and the theater, but my sister starts a new job today which means there will be commute time added as she comes to get me, instead of her being here right at 5, so we won't have TIME to go home and change and get food before we have to head to the theater, so i'm just cutting out the middle man and wearing it all day. this is the third weekend of performances though, show closes sunday, so it's the only time i'll have to.
How tall are you? 5’8
Piercings? only ears, and i don't wear earrings very often, really only for special occasions
Tattoos? i've got one tattoo, as a memorial for my dad who died in 2017. it's a snippet of lyrics from one of the songs he wrote, behind my left ear. i'm planning on getting a memorial tattoo for my grandmother who died in november(?? i think) but we can't currently FIND the drawing she did that i was gonna get. so. if we ever find that again, i'm gonna get it on my hip.
Glasses or contacts? contacts, all day almost every day for about 20 years now, i put them in before i even get out of bed in the mornings. i hate not having peripheral vision in glasses.
Last drink: water yum yum
Last thing you ate: a chicken and cheese quesadilla and a banana/strawberry smoooooothie
Favorite color: big fan of purple
Any pets? not any of my own. had cats and a dog growing up, and had a rat for a few years a while back, but they have all since died 😅 i'm not inclined toward all the upkeep required for larger pets, so no cats or dogs if i have to actually take care of them entirely myself, and i would be down to get another rat or two, but my sister was DEVASTATED when Freya died and refuses to be traumatized by any more pets with short life spans aldkfjg. so no more rats lol.
Do you have a crush on anyone? nope uwu
Favorite fictional character: currently i am deeply fixated on Declan Lynch, somebody send help
A movie you think everyone should watch: uuuuhhhhh A Christmas Carol, the musical version with Kelsey Grammer?? first thing that came to mind, very random 😂 but that version is a banger, i love the music, clearly the superior adaptation of the story
A book you think everyone should read: mmm gonna throw darts at the wall and say Two Dark Moons by Avi Silver, cuz i read it fairly recently and enjoyed it a lot?? idk, i want there to be a fandom for that, i went looking on tumblr for stuff about it and found a grand total of like two posts and was very disappointed lol. somebody else go read it so i'm not alone XD
The last place you traveled: i don't go anywhere aldkfgh. i think the last place i went waaasssss alabama? Mobile maybe?? fuck i don't remember, we went to the Winona Judd concert, wherever it was.
Something you’re looking forward to: strike for this show i'm working 😂 probably the first time i've ever looked forward to strike (the process of disassembling a show's set and clearing out the theater and dressing rooms, huge ordeal) but after dealing with these obnoxious fucking difficult to maneuver set pieces for the last month, i think i will greatly enjoy reducing them to piles of wood and screws.

Castlevania Nocturne Season 1 Review
Its a good time to be a gamer, or an adult who likes animation. After decades of flop after flop, it seems that filmmakers and animation studios finally got their shit together, and realized that video games aren't just a fad that will pass in a few weeks. We can now rest easy, knowing that the people who make video game adaptations actually know what video games are, and did their research on them before putting pen to paper.
Tumblr media
Sure, in every boom, there's bound to be a few stinkers. I doubt any news outlet is putting the live action Monster Hunter movie in their 'Top Ten Best Video Game Movies' lists anytime soon. But as it stands today, the market for video game adaptations for the big (or small) screen is bustling, with major successes like the Super Mario Bros movie proving just how successful they can be.
Tumblr media
Streaming services, as well, have taken this in stride, putting forth their best and brightest to make some damn good shows for their platforms. With shows like Arcane, Cyberpunk : Edgerunners, and Castlevania (2017), most video game or animation fans have been eating well with Netflix, and the release of Nocturne last September was just another scoop on the sundae.
Tumblr media
Castlevania: Nocturne is a short animated series created by Clive Bradley, and directed by Sam and Adam Deats. Based on the Konami games, Nocturne follows a group of young magical heroes who work together to stop a secret ruling class of vampires from summoning a messiah and bringing about the end-times. A cunning show with a dark premise, Nocturne is 8 episodes of fast-paced, blood spraying, beautifully animated action that lives up to it's precedent's legacy.
Tumblr media
Coming just 2 years after the finale of the original series, Nocturne only ups the quality of the series as a whole on all fronts. For starters, the visuals. My god, the animation is incredible! I wish I could show every fight scene, every smoothly-animated sequence here, but alas, I'd lag the shit outta this post. I'll spare you, mobile users.
Tumblr media
Watching this show took me back to 2017, when the original series came out. Sitting on a bus, on a youth trip in the middle east, I'd watch the fight at the end of season 1 over and over, trying to spot how they animated it. Seven years later, I still find myself staring in slack-jawed amazement at the slick animation on display, which moves so fast that at times, I can't even tell what's going on. One thing's for sure, though: its goddamn beautiful.
Tumblr media
On top of that, Nocturne keeps the series' ball rolling, adding onto the previously established lore while keeping the past relevant, to make it fit the overarching narrative. It acknowledges what happened at the end of the previous series, and continues where it left off, albeit a few decades later. Nocturne's main characters aren't nobodies: their family lineage and abilities link them to the previous trio, showing how though the passage of time, the show stays the same.
Tumblr media
The main character, Richter, is a stark contrast to Trevor, the previous series' protagonist. He's polite, nicely dressed, works well with others, and has a lot to learn about his ancestry, which gets revealed more over time. Where Trevor felt like a seasoned vampire hunter, Richter has this sense of youthfulness about him, making him feel more inexperienced. We get to watch him learn and grow, rather than start with him already being experienced, and it feels satisfying to see how far he's come by the last episode. Plus he gives me gender feels, so he's alright in my books.
Tumblr media
Supporting him is Maria, this series' counterpart to Sypha, and Richter's adopted sister. She is a leader in the fight for freedom in the French Revolution, and can summon magical animals to fight for her. Her youthful energy, stubbornness, and deep knowledge of politics keep her from being another 'strong empowered woman' , a stereotype which many fantasy series believe is somehow akin to feminist writing.
Tumblr media
The third member of this series' main trio isn't a counterpart to Alucard, though she could end up being just as powerful. Annette, a Caribbean woman who fled slavery as a child, can harness the powers of an African god to control rocks and metal, to create weapons or help her allies. She is one of the first major Black characters in this series, and proves to be a valuable ally time and time again, saving her friends' asses at least a dozen times.
Tumblr media
Despite the show only being 8 episodes as of time of writing this, Nocturne manages to pull you in quickly, with its likeable characters and quickly escalating plot. When I started this show last year, I was hesitant to let go of the old trio and old story, and adopt this new one. By episode 4, though, I was into it, and wanted to know more about the story. While the original Castlevania takes four seasons to get to the point of a unified team and major evil, Nocturne does it in a fraction of the time, with all of the same grace and glory, and none of the season 3 like its predecessor. Now this is speedrunning!
Tumblr media
To top it all off, Nocturne continues its family legacy of giving some damn good representation in a show that's source material never really demanded it. Much of the main cast falls into various minority groups, and for one in particular, her struggles are shown in detail. We live in an era where a major animated action series features a metal mage who escaped slavery, an gay Aztec vampire who falls in love with a holy knight, a Black vampire with flaming hair and bat wings, and a vampire matriarch with the power to blot out the sun. There's something for everyone here, and I mean it.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, that's all there is for now. Castlevania: Nocturne, as it stands, is just one season, with a second on the way. Still, what's here is strong, and proves that the original Castlevania wasn't just a lucky break. Just like it, Nocturne delivers blazing fast action, awesome character design, and tons of representation, but quickens the pace of the story to get the ball rolling right away. After 8 episodes, I already feel attached to these new characters, and I anxiously await the next season. Who knows, maybe they'll add a werewolf character!

It's been a while since I last did this, so today it was time for
ANIME GRAB BAG #5
Clockwork Fighters Hiwou's War - I liked this one! It was set in feudal Japan and had a group of people traveling in a steampunk samurai mecha. The art style was really cute and I liked the little clockwork dolls they had, and the episode I watched was set in a snowy mountain environment, which I liked...and the villains were ninjas with sick spider automatons?? Hell yeah. Also the samurai mech was named Homura which I thought was amusing.
The Familiar of Zero: Rondo of Princesses Picture Drama - This one was really short and weird...it was like an audio drama with still images instead of a proper anime?? Weird. A maid was in service to a nobleman named Lord Paul and they confessed their love for one another, and it seemed like it was leading into a sex scene, but the maid aggressively and suggestively washed his back instead. Aight.
I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in the Real World, Too - ...Okay. This is the newest one I've watched by a longshot, it literally finished like a week ago. It was only a matter of time before I got an isekai with an annoying title, and it had to be the one with the premise, "I'm a fat nerd loser who gets bullied irl but then I go to Video Game Fantasy Land and I'm so hot and so cool and everybody loves me and now I'm hot and cool and everyone loves me irl too." Ugh. Annoying and pandering. Also. I'm annoyed that the isekai world literally acts like a video game with menus and XP and shit, it's like even in the fiction it's not really real and it takes me out of something I already wasn't invested in in the first place... Yeah, I knew about this one ahead of time. Anyway. The one thing I liked was the girl Boring Guy ran into in Fantasy Land, an assassin with razor wires coming out of her fingers called Luna. Razor wires are always such a cool weapon and I wish the show was about her instead. And that she was written better and not just there to gas up Boring Guy. Whatever. Anime 🤷
Aikatsu on Parade! (ONA) - I know OVA means Original Video Animation, so I'm assuming that means Original...Net...Animation? Idk. This one was about idol singers competing in a competition to represent their idol schools. It was kind of repetitive but it was cute and inoffensive. Most of the girls had charming and colorful designs. I'm also assuming this was made to promote a gatcha game, because the girls changed into fancy outfits with...cards. Which feels blatantly "gatcha" to me.
Xian Feng Jian Yu Lu - Another short Chinese one...uh. I don't want to sound rude, but this one used 3D models and looked like a mobile game ad. It got weirdly incestuous at the end. I have nothing else to say about it.
Koi Suru Shirokuma - This one was 30 seconds long?? It had a baby seal that was terrified a polar bear was going to eat them, but the bear kept saying, "I love you, I wouldn't eat you, why would I eat someone I love?" and the seal mentioned the bear is its natural predator. Yup. A cute way to end this one I suppose.
Overall, this set of random anime was Decent to Could Have Been Worse

Rams Draft: Bennett is “a really good football player’
Tumblr media
(News4usonline) - The Los Angeles Rams got a boatload of players from the 2023 NFL Draft. Judging from the players they selected, it’s clear that the Rams drafted for need. It also appears that head coach Sean McVay and general manager Les Snead went through a painstaking process of adding players to the team roster that will both compete and contribute.  The Rams added a total of 14 players to their team by way of the draft. The sheer number of players selected is expected to help improve a team that went 5-12 last season.
Tumblr media
Quarterback Stetson Bennett (13) scores on a 21-yard run in the first quarter of the College Football Playoff Championship against TCU on January 9, 2023. Bennett and the Bulldogs rolled to a 65-7 win at SoFi Stadium. Photo by Dennis J. Freeman for News4usonline “We got a lot better in terms of the depth of our football team,” McVay stated. “Now how these guys come in and earn their opportunities, what that looks like, but there's a handful of these guys that are going to come in and have legitimate chances to be starters on opening day, but that's all going to be earned.  “We've got some guys that are in-house that we expect to take steps in the right direction, especially a handful of those guys that are going into their second year that got their feet a little bit wet as a result of the amount of injuries. And so when you look at it from a positive lens, I think that'll be a good thing, but we're a much more competitive football team by the nature of these 14 players.”  The Rams added three players to their roster on Day 2 of the draft. Their fourth pick on Day 3, the Rams brought both intrigue and excitement to their fan base when they made former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Stetson Bennett the 128th overall draft pick (fourth round). “People take for granted that this guy is just a really good football player,” McVay said. “Because of the background and the way that he became the starter at Georgia is a little bit unconventional and it wasn't the five-star route, but I think it minimized the athleticism, the ability to create off-schedule. He's a natural thrower of the football. He can play with great anticipation, throws the ball with accuracy, plays within the timing.”  It was a great move by McVay and Snead to pick up Bennett on several fronts.  First, the Rams sorely needed a capable backup to starter Matthew Stafford. And they needed a quarterback that Stafford would be able to groom to take over once his watch as the team’s starting quarterback is over. Stafford led the Rams to a win in Super Bowl LVI. The veteran quarterback had his 2022 season cut short due to a neck contusion. He’s back and ready to go. However, with Bryce Perkins and John Wolford both not around, McVay and Snead had to get someone else in the quarterback room. After drafting an offensive lineman with the 36th pick (TCU guard Steve Avila), picking up an edge rusher (Tennessee outside linebacker Byron Young) with the 77th pick, and grabbing a defensive lineman (Wake Forest’s Kobie Turner) with the 89th selection, the Rams went after Stafford’s heir apparent.  There’s not a whole lot not to like about Bennett. He’s mobile-friendly. He has good pocket awareness. He throws a pretty decent ball. And by the way, he’s also a two-time national champion.
Tumblr media
Stetson Bennett (13) led the Georgia Bulldogs to back-to-back national championships. Photo by Dennis J. Freeman for News4usonline So he knows how to win. Bennett sounds like the perfect fit for McVay’s offense. During the 2023 College Football Playoff National Championship game played at SoFi Stadium, Bennett led the Bulldogs to a 65-7 crushing win over TCU, wrapping up a successful collegiate career.  If you’re looking for numbers, Bennett has them. In his two years as a full-time starter, Bennett threw for a combined 6,989 yards and 56 touchdowns. During his senior campaign, Bennett passed for 4,27 yards and 27 touchdowns while completing 68 percent of his passes.   The numbers thing is cool, but an added benefit for Bennett is the fact he’ll be groomed by Stafford, a Georgia alum himself. McVay is a great opportunity for Bennett.   “I think what a great opportunity for him to come in and learn from a perennial All-Pro, a great football player who's been doing it at a high level,” quipped McVay. “And it's not exclusive to just the great things you see (QB) Matthew (Stafford) do on Sundays, but the level of preparation and professionalism that exists throughout the course of the week. His rhythm and routine, the way that he just seamlessly, naturally interacts with guys. I think there'll be a lot of good things that Stetson will be able to see what it looks like.”  Read the full article
