I need to have another serious conversation with you guys, this time about unwilling vore and fatal vore

I am leaving this marked for everyone because I believe that we can be mature enough to have a civil, serious conversation on this topic together, which ultimately, everyone in this community should consider, because this is VERY important.

These past couple weeks have just been one thing after the other after the other
First, transitioning into a Keto diet to lose some weight left me with horrible carb-flu for a week (withdrawal of carbs producing flu-like symptoms such as body aches and cramps),
Then I had to wake up at 7:30 and 6 respectively on summer days for high school graduation rehersal and graduation,
I was struggling to hold myself together at graduation because of my school-related trauma,
My brother and dad got into a fight on the way home,
Today I had to go through four and a half hours straight of online college orientation,
And now, finally, once I reached that online orientation's interactive module about sexual misconduct and what exactly rape is, I utterly broke. Because there it was right in my face, a statement that I had already known since I was old enough to understand the concept, yet something which I had never seemed to fully process the implications of when applying it to this community.
"If the sexual activity is done without the active, informed consent of both partners, its rape."
It's no secret that I have indeed written some NSFW stories which have since, thanks to a previous discussion, been properly marked as mature and will be reblogged onto my NSFW blog on a once every Monday schedule, but, it is also no secret that some of those NSFW stories, sexually charged fics, feature unwilling vore.
Or, to state it more bluntly, per the definition above, they feature rape. I have willingly written rape, read over the rape multiple times, thoroughly enjoying it, and have put it out for the world to see. Especially considering that these stories were available to everyone including minors for quite some time, I cannot see how this is anything other than abhorrent. I was taking enjoyment from the sexual abuse I was writing into existence, and I feel utterly sick.
It seems to me now that "unwilling vore", particularly in the NSFW vore community, is simply a way of saying "rape" that makes it less taboo and more acceptable to talk about and create content for. It's become so normalized now, that I could not find a single post in the "unwilling vore" tag that was having this discussion when I searched for it. Instead it was all posts glorifying the concept, which ultimately, in an NSFW context, is rape. Period.
This can also extend to fatal vore and how I so enjoyed writing and reading about acidic murders. It's murder. Full stop. Especially in an NSFW context, I should not be enjoying such a concept.
But I do.
And honestly, I'm not entirely sure that removing the NSFW context makes it okay either. It may not be sexual, and thus won't constitute as rape, but just think about how paralyzingly traumatic the experience would be to an unwilling prey...and for fatal vore, it is most certainly still murder! Why am I normalizing and glorifying this kind of stuff? Why?
What the hell have I been doing for these past few years? Why have I loved and enjoyed so deeply this concept and this community which encompasses such abhorrent actions and not only normalizes them but turns them into hot fun time fics?
I have no idea anymore, and I have tipple the no idea of how I was able to last like this for so long without any sort of justification to speak of. Was I just suppressing what I already knew because I was scared to face reality? Honestly, I think that might be it.
I'm sorry, I'm just rambling at this point but I honestly have no idea anymore. I just feel awful, that's the bottom line. Rape and murder, in stories that are sexual. That is what I have created. I am nothing more than an insensitive, uncaring, unsympathetic, immoral, horrific piece of shit who thought for years that this was okay. These things have hurt real people in real life. I feel like I am shitting on their stories and their experiences for each and every single NSFW unwilling vore and fatal vore story I have created. Glorifying, normalizing, and sexualizing the pain, agony, and trauma these real people went through, for nothing more than my own pleasure. How am I not behind bars? (/gen)

I have a question. How long should it take for things to feel more normal? Maybe I have a few things conspiring against me, but I just can’t feel normal. I was diagnosed with celiac without ever having symptoms (or at least without having symptoms I ever tied to consuming gluten). I was so skeptical when I got the call from the doctor that I laughed. The reason I was tested was as part of diagnostic work up for type 1 diabetes diagnosis that landed me in the ICU at age 35. My DGA and TTG were through the roof but I was very skeptical. I’d been eating bread every single day! The endoscopy came back as Marsh 3C so I started coming to terms with the fact that I was, indeed, in danger.
That traumatic series of diagnoses was all in summer of 2020. I’ve had to use insulin, started eating low carb, and have been avoiding gluten. The first two I got used to. The gluten avoidance through is honestly the one bothering me more. The fact that I can’t really eat out anymore, not without worrying a lot, because even if the place has a gluten free menu or markings, restaurants have been in a pinch since Covid and have taken a lot of shortcuts. I don’t really eat at friend’s houses. I don’t want to go traveling to places where I can’t know for sure that I’ll be able to find gluten free food. It’s just been miserable, I’ve been waiting for it to get more normal, but isn’t 3 years a long time?
I’m paranoid because I don’t have symptoms (I don’t know what it feels like to get glutened) but my antibodies have plateaued above the normal range and I can’t seem to get them to go lower. I’m sick and tired of having my world feel so small because I can’t eat most food. It doesn’t feel like it’s getting more normal, it feels worse and worse as the world slowly goes back to pre-lockdown socially while it feels like I’m the only left in food lockdown.

Gosh that sounds like a ride and a half. I'm so sorry that your journey so far has had so many challenges. My answer is a little lengthy, so I'm putting it under a break.
To answer your question anon, it's really something that just depends. In my case, I was initially diagnosed with celiac in 2014. At the time I was also dealing with diagnosis and removal of a pituitary tumor, so because of that I kind of treated celiac as an afterthought--I already felt terrible in a million other ways, so I was pretty lax the change. I wasn't really given any education on how to adjust my diet or eating habits, or the risks associated with continuing to eat gluten. I sought a second opinion from a doctor that ended up knowing jack about celiac disease, and was given an IBS diagnosis instead (because I'd been eating GF for a year, they found no damage to my intestines, and I wasn't eating gluten at the time). From 2015 to 2020 I was back on eating gluten, but after I started having severe symptoms (again) I was rediagnosed by another (much better) GI team.
I have a few additional problems now because of the untreated celiac that I probably wouldn't have had I been better educated the first time around, and I'm pretty bitter about that sometimes. But I've also been very lucky to have such a good support network of people that understand and care about me, and that makes a lot of difference.
What I'm trying to say is that, while it will get better, it doesn't always feel like it. There are days that I really struggle with anxiety around eating in front of others, frustration over the lack of convienence, and the feeling of exclusion (or at least seperation) from meals with family, friends, and coworkers. I relate to you with the lack of symptoms--I've only been truly glutened once to my knowledge, but additional GI issues I have always have me on high alert. I'm also currently dealing with unexplained elevated TTG/IGA levels, despite being extremely strict nowadays.
Doing my own research and starting this blog really helped me to focus on the things I can do rather than the things I can't. I also just kind of brute force my way through things that gave me anxiety before, like taking my food with me to friends' houses or restaurants. I've been through so much, I no longer care what people think lmao
Basically your mileage is going to vary. I wouldn't say that these things have a set timeline, and I personally think the mental part of dealing with a diagnosis like celiac takes twice as long to heal from compared to the physical part. It sounds like you're struggling especially hard with feelings of loss and detachment. That's not uncommon, but you may benefit from talking about all of this with a therapist, or just reaching out to a friend to say you're struggling.
Give yourself credit--you've gotten so far from where you were. And remember, even if you feel isolated, you're not dealing with this alone.

i know recovery is really hard, and not everyone is ready for it. that said, here is some harm reduction advice for eds
- laxatives generally take a while to work and your food will already have been mostly digested by then. they only remove waste material and can really mess up your electrolyte levels when abused. better to eat smaller meals after binging than abusing laxatives.
- purging by vomiting is similar to laxative abuse in the way that your food has often already had a lot of the calories absorbed, your teeth, nails, and of course your esophagus can be severely damaged and your electrolytes can also be thrown out of balance. again, better to follow up binges with smaller meals rather than purging.
- after an extended period of fasting, youre at risk of refeeding syndrome which is extremely dangerous. eat small things in small amounts and avoid salty or processed carbs. try fruit or veg with a lot of water such as melon or cucumber, or small amounts of high fat, phosphate containing food like cheese or yogurt, maybe with a multivitamin. reintroduce food slowly and do not let yourself binge after an extended fast.
- dont go straight from a large binge to a heavy restriction. go from binge to normal eating first or a binge-restrict cycle will be easier to fall into and harder to break.
- ideally you shouldnt eat less than 1200 calories a day, your brain needs 500 just to function and youll still lose weight on 1200. diets telling you to eat 200 a day long term are very unsustainable and put you at risk. eating 200 calories a day for maybe a day or two definitely wont kill you, but you should aim for a few days a week where you eat 1200 or above - or all days a week, but i understand that may be a scary concept for people who are struggling with restriction.
- dont fast for more than 72 hours. if i cant stop you from doing so, then please make sure you check your general wellbeing, vital signs, and blood pressure if possible.
- make sure you drink more water than you usually would than on normal eating days when/if fasting. try not to drink more than 4L on any day, and especially not in a short time period (drinking 4L in 1-3 hours puts your brain at risk) "Overhydration can lead to water intoxication. This occurs when the amount of salt and other electrolytes in your body become too diluted" Source: healthline
- after youve lost maybe more than 10lb, use tape measures rather than scales because water fluctuation is going to make more of a difference which may not make you feel that good.
- light exercise is good to retain muscle and keep your metabolism from dropping too much - doesnt have to be hard workouts, but a good walk or even laughter can help.
- try to eat more protein, fibre and healthy fats than you do carbs, however on an average day you do need a little carbs. keto diets only prevent water retention long term.
- caffeine is an appetite suppressant but also increases heart rate, blood pressure and anxiety. feel free to drink it but know your limits.
- artificial sweeteners may make you hungrier. doesnt mean you cant enjoy them on occasion though !! "Inconsistent coupling between sweet taste and caloric content can lead to compensatory overeating and positive energy balance." Source: ncbi
- GET ENOUGH SLEEP. lack of sleep significantly increases hunger and can reduce metabolism, making you feel worse throughout the day. "Laboratory studies have clearly shown that sleep deprivation can alter the glucose metabolism and hormones involved in regulating metabolism, that is, decreased leptin levels and increased ghrelin levels." Two Years Summarized.
This is lengthy because OMG 2022-2023 have been a cluster-F until this month.
I had big plans in 2022, but then we got notice I have to pay back the "no strings attached" money I (and millions of others) had received in 2021 because I'm "not a contributing member of society" according the IRS. That took months to pay back; I later learned that virtually everyone on SSI and SSDI were forced to pay that back. 
Then eviction notice without cause, had to find a new home, no affordable rentals with contracts were available, so we had to buy one. Thankfully, there are programs for first time home buyers, Disabled home buyers, and all sorts of other programs to help. There were major hiccups though, one of which cost us $500+ in food. 
Husband got a new, and well-paying, job, but contracted covid because it's a kitchen and no one wants to wear a mask. Covid tore through that kitchen, and no one seemed to care. We were sick for weeks, and my case was especially bad, lasting almost three months. The long term effects of exhaustion (both of us), brain fog, chronic eustatian tube dysfunction, and possibly developing POTS, have been something we've learned to live with. 
One of our cats, Jasper, had fallen gravely ill in 2021 from a mystery illness, and we had to open a Care Credit account in order to afford treatment. We're still paying that bill. He never made a full recovery, and exactly one year, right down to the day, he was sicker than ever. At the vet, we learned he had cancer, and had lost half his weight in three days. We had our baby boy, age 16, humanely euthanized. My eustatian tube dysfunction reared its ugly head the next day because of how much I was crying. 
It was not a good year.
2023 has been filled with it's own cluster-F. In February, my husband was experiencing intense pain, but refused to go to the hospital due to not having insurance. Then he woke up with a serious case of jaundice. Off the ER we went, and it was there he was diagnosed with diabetes type 2; his blood sugar was 652. That's deadly. He had an ultrasound to see what was happening in his gut, and we discovered his gall bladder was packed with stones. There were so many, they were being pushed out to make space for more. He had emergency surgery to remove the three stones in his bile duct, and we were informed he needed his gall blader removed immediately. Except that wasn't possible because he had to get his blood sugar under control and recover from this surgery first. We filed piles of paperwork to have as much of this bill forgiven as we possibly could. Two of the six bills were wiped out, and only a few days ago were we able to pay off the rest, thanks to the person who purchased the large quilt that had been in my shop.
The hospital itself was a wreck. The kitchen kept sending him applesauce and fruit juice, which were marked as DO NOT SEND THESE. Not a single nurse or doctor was wearing a mask, and they whined when we refused to let them near within 10 feet of us. After that, we knew we would have to transfer him to a different hospital because this place was incompetant.
He had to quit his job, doctor's orders. It was, in fact, killing him. Applying for new jobs had to wait for several weeks due to recovering from surgery, and he was denied Unemployment Insurance for ridiculous reasons. Neither of us had the energy (exhausted is an understatement) nor mindset (anxiety, stress, exhaustion, pain) to appeal the decision, but we did anyway. Twice. Denied both times. He was finally able to get a new job, which pays well enough but doesn't provide the hours he needs. It does, however, provide insurance and is significantly less demanding than working in a kitchen. 
After several months of hard work with going for daily walks, a drastic change to his diet (virtually zero carbs and sugar), he was able to get the surgery he needed to remove his gall bladder. His work insurance covered the cost, and the hospital we opted to have the surgery at forgave the entire bill. There was only one bill because everything is under a single business instead of the way the other hospital functions, which is a bunch of private contracts and services that happen to work in the same building. 
Over the summer, our water heater broke. It was 20 years old, so it's really no surprise. It simply cost us $3k to buy it and have it professionally installed. Yay for monthly payments! Our homeowner's insurance took $500 off the bill, but it still hurts. We also learned we need our plumbing replaced because the guy who owned the house before us was a landlord and installed illegal plumbing. The short version is it needs to be replaced and will cost ~$12k and our insurance doesn't cover this. The home inspector also didn't see it because the landlord had covered parts that were supposed to be exposed. To get this done, we need to make a 50% payment first. LOL!!!!!!
Then, in September, we received a court order for a hearing about his previous Unemployment Insurance. Money he received from 2020 to 2021 (because everything was closed) was now being challenged. Turns out we weren't the only ones dealing with the massive hiccup. Thanks to a supporter here, we were able to acquire legal aid and this whole thing was waived in October, aka we won the court case.
Now, at the end of the year, in the final two weeks, things are finally calming down. All the medical bills are paid off, and that was at the top of the list of worries. We still have the Care Credit bill to pay, and interest is collecting. I know selling just one of the three major quilts I'm gonna finish over the next three months will cover the bill, but that depends on someone buying it. For now, it's just us paying a little more than the minimum to keep the interest from growing too much. We also have the water heater that needs to be paid off. My hope is, by this time next year, we have these paid off. That'll make it possible for us to save money to get the plumbing replaced.
Here's to hoping 2024 is a gentle, boring, kind, and uneventful year. A year of paying off these two major debts by June so we can focus on saving money for new plumbing.

January is historically the coldest month of the year here in New York. So, if it seems like you and everyone you know is currently sick, was recently sick or is in the process of recuperating from being sick, it’s most likely not your imagination as these types of illnesses are cresting right now.   Getting regular exercise, adequate sleep and consuming a diversity of fresh, unprocessed, nutrient-dense foods, such as those found in the farmers market, is fundamental to boosting your immune system and keeping you as healthy as possible throughout the winter months. But, when you’re sick or under the weather, incorporating these traditional, food-based therapies featuring wholesome ingredients can help you feel better and get you back on your feet faster.  A Better BRAT The BRAT diet is an acronym that stands for its four food components -- bananas, rice, apple sauce, and toast. This diet used to be recommended for people, especially children, experiencing gastrointestinal symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea or gastroenteritis. Due to its restrictive nature, the original BRAT diet should be considered a temporary solution and is no longer recommended for extended periods of use beyond a meal or two. Instead, when mild tummy troubles arise, medical professionals now typically suggest consuming a greater variety of bland foods that are gentle on the stomach, along with plenty of fluids and electrolytes. If a bland diet is what the doctor has ordered, congee (Asian rice porridge) makes an excellent choice for an easily digestible, yet nutrient-rich, meal that has been used by the Chinese as a stomach remedy for thousands of years. Congee is made by boiling rice in a large amount of water or stock until the rice softens almost to the melting point, and the broth thickens with creamy rice starch. 1 cup Great Joy Family Farm long-grain white rice, rinsed 
7 cups Yellow Bell Farm chicken stock or homemade vegetable stock

1/2 teaspoon kosher or sea salt, plus more for seasoning

Instructions
Roast chicken, when cooled, remove most of the meat but be sure to leave some on! 
Place chicken carcass in a large pot filled with water. 
Add garlic cloves (minced or whole), roughly chopped leek, celery, carrots and red onion to pot. 
Season with salt, pepper, parsley and start a low simmer for 3-4 hours. 
Taste occasionally, add seasoning if needed. 
When done cooking, remove chicken carcass and remove its remaining meat. 
Add chicken meat back into the soup. Add cooked rice or noodles. 
Garnish with fresh parsley. 
Serve piping hot!
