Hi, hi, hello, I am here once again to sound absolutely insane while arguing something buddie, this time from Buck's side because I haven't done one on him in a while. I think this is a Buck needs to choose defense, but who knows really ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Okay, I've talked about this before, but Oliver is a really big guy, he's taller than the rest of the cast so we don't see Buck looking up a whole lot. In conversations where Buck would be in a more vulnerable position, they put all of the involved sitting down so they are on the same eye level, when he tells Abby about the catfish guy, when he talks to Maddie after the bombing, when he talks to Maddie after Red dies, when he finds out about Daniel, when he talks to Maddie after the thing with Jonah, when he talks to Bobby after the lightning.

Or they're both standing up, when he talks to Bobby before he quits before the tsunami, when he talks to Bobby after the lawsuit, when he tells Bobby he is one of the most important people in his life, when he tells Eddie about the fight with his parents, when he talks to Bobby after the crane, when he’s helping Eddie fix the walls (as I was typing this I noticed the trend of having him sitting down with Maddie and standing up with Bobby, which makes sense considering how much shorter than Oliver Jennifer is and how Oliver and Peter are just a few inches apart).

Or they have Buck being the only one standing up, or just at a higher level, so that he has the high ground in sense, when he tells the 118 about the thing with Daniel, when he yells at his parents, when he talks to Maddie after he messes up with Red, when he breaks up with Taylor, but it is a trend to not have him look up at people. (All of these have more examples, I just didn't feel like screenshotting every major Buck scene lol)

People he does look up to in vulnerable moments, moments actually end up leading to a fight? Ali and Taylor. He looks up at Ali when she's talking about not understanding what the job means and when he tells Taylor he kissed someone else. So he looks up at his love interests. Before a fight, but still looking up. Ali is the most intense example I could find in my quick skimming of the scenes I could think of, but since Taylor is standing up and he's sitting down, it counts.

This does nothing for my point but I do want to point it out. He looks up at Eddie before the confrontation at the gym lol. Sure that ends with Buck towering over Eddie, but it starts with him looking up at him and fits the trend (or actually starts it? Considering this happens before Ali or Taylor lol).

I could be wrong here, maybe there are other moments where he's looking up and I just can't think of them right now, but Eddie is pretty much the only person he consistently looks up to, when he clears with Bobby for Chris to stay at the station (not about him but he's looking up), the Hildy incident (this one is just funny but it happens), when he tells Eddie it would’ve been better if he had been shot, after Chim leaves to look for Maddie, after he dies. And it's interesting to have those last two scenes because he's going to Eddie for advice and they decided to literally have him look up at Eddie.

Conversations with Eddie fit all types of categories when it comes to the two of them because they are best friends, just focus on these ones tho (you can read this for thoughts on framing in multiple scenes tho)

"But Anna you've said this before in at least 3 different posts already" I know, I know, and I have a point, I promise.

I like taking season 6 knowledge and recontextualizing the previous seasons. What does Buck want in season 6? Answers. From the dude at the happiness convention to “I’m the guy with the answers, I kinda like that”. But it’s not crazy to say that Buck has been looking for whatever this answer is his whole life, but the main thing is that Buck keeps looking for answers outside of what he already has, the choice he makes is to look for something else to make things make sense and for someone else to tell him so he can pretend he's not responsible for the consequences. There’s a whole other discussion here and I was talking about this yesterday, but Buck doesn’t really make choices in his life (bisexual king 🫶), he fell into firefighting, he tripped into every relationship he had, he didn’t pick his apartment, he still hasn’t picked a couch.

Okay, but why does that relate to the whole looking-up thing? I don’t know if this makes sense, but I think in a way he expects Eddie to have the answers in a way that’s a bit, not excessive, but like, bordering on too much? Like, for example, the way he takes what Eddie tells him before the tsunami and runs with it, the whole just move on thing that he is still doing (I’m kinda fascinated about the way that the end of the cemetery conversation gives the same message that Eddie tried to push onto him there and we all know how that ended for Eddie), the whole “somehow we manage to just suck it up, why can’t you?” and “a lot of I’s in there” and “you’re making it about you? again?” that does make Buck act as if having feelings about traumatic events means he’s making it about himself, makes him selfish, that makes him act as if he needs just to push through. He keeps following Eddie’s lead at all times. And I think that is something that needs to be addressed in some way before they can have a relationship. I do think post-lawsuit Eddie is trying, post-therapy Eddie is trying even harder to not lead them wrong or dismiss Buck’s feelings, and if Eddie asked Buck out, chances are he would say yes, but it would leave the question of whether he’s just following Eddie’s lead. Because Buck keeps tripping into relationships. We don't see him ask anyone out, we don't see Buck make the decision. The only way to fight this is to have Buck be the one to march to Eddie and go “I want this, do you want me?” and hope he’s doing the right thing while knowing he is the one who went for it.

And like, I don’t really think Eddie would ask Buck, not for lack of wanting, but because he runs from fights he’s not sure he can win, dude retreats back to safety like no one else, and taking a leap with Buck is not safe. But, hey, we’re supposed to believe Buck is the one who keeps running into unsafe situations, so sure, have Buck do it.

And I think the cemetery can be used as a start for that, because Buck keeps trying to get Eddie to tell him what to do, he keeps looking at Eddie and waiting for him to just give him the answers, but Eddie already retreated from the fight, he’s all “whatever you say, bud” so Buck thinks he’s doing something Eddie agrees on, but what Eddie wants is the opposite, the shift in the way Eddie is handling that conversation is really obvious and to have Buck go against it could be used in an interesting way.

And the cemetery scene itself opposes the whole looking-up thing because Eddie refuses to keep looking at Buck while Buck keeps poking him to get him to look. Buck is all “*tugging on his sleeve* tell me I'm right tell me I'm right tell me I’m right” and Eddie is all “you’re right buddy *narrators voice* he doesn’t think he’s right at all”.

And Eddie is locked out of making changes in the relationship in a sense, because Buck basically told him “this woman is the one” so why would he risk the friendship when Buck has made it clear what he wants? In Eddie's head, it's a fight that's already lost, so why would he jeopardize the part of the relationship he does have for something he thinks is hopeless?

But Buck doesn’t have that, I think right now, the power is in Buck’s hands, Buck needs to realize he has it and Buck needs to make the choice to use it.

Mr. Human Calculator I Have The Answers Now needs to accept that life has a level of unpredictability and go for it anyway. Start fighting the current he put himself in and getting the things he does wants not the things he thinks he should want.

Dr pt2 spoiler warning

This was a fantastic set of episodes

• Kai and wyldfire are everything. Kai having to deal with someone who acts like he did in the earlier seasons is poetic justice and funny as hell.

• I also like how they kinda tried to explain why Kai seemed calm after sea bound and nyas seaifcation. I guess Kai meditating with wu would make him calmer. At least it confirms that Kai was upset (even if they didn’t show it)

•I am kinda upset that nothing from skybound was brought up with the Djinn. I personally don’t really like skybound but I still find that it could be used more than just oh yah that happened right wink wink. I mean we had to suffer through skybound for something right?

• I actually really liked sora and nyas whole plot with the Djinns curse. It was fun and had a nice conclusion.

• Coles return is great I love his little gang in the land of forgotten things. My favorite has to be the skeleton girl (I forgot her name probably cuz they only say it like 2 times) she’s funny.

• I do wish there was a scene where nyas like btw I found Cole and the other ninja react. I mean she does mention it at the end but no one except Zane has any real reaction.

• Beatrix going off the rails was really funny. It felt like someone gave a teen with daddy issues an insta death weapon.

• rapton switching sides kinda came out of left field for me. Like the guy isn’t the brightest bulb in the box I think it would be more likely for other characters to switch sides. Also how did he recover from being tased so quickly? Man was out cold and not two minutes later he was up and walking around.

• kinda felt that the whole being sucked into non existence should have had more lasting effects (totally not because I want to traumatize or brutally injure Kai no why would I want that /s) tho fake out deaths are pretty par for the course with ninjago, this one actually didn’t make me feel all that much cuz I knew the moment wyldfire got pulled in that this was a fake out. They wouldn’t kill one of there new characters that quickly.

•so wus just legitimately fudging dead. Never thought we would see the day when this old mad would just peace out. Also ghost wu legit looks like he’s slowly loosing his form or something cuz in the first half he appears with his full body but in the last scene he’s in he’s just a chest and a head. It might have just been a stylistic thing tho.

•I’m not mad jay only showed up for around 30 seconds (this just might be my bias tho cuz jays probably the ninja I care the least about, not that I hate him or anything he’s just not that interesting to me) it’s kinda refreshing for me cuz nya gets to be her own character for a bit and not be completely attached to Jay and Jay gets to take up less screen time (if I am being honest Jay had so much focus in the wild brain seasons it kinda got annoying to me personally) idk if he’s actually lost his memories or if that leak is wrong cuz it would make sense cuz he has not searched for the ninja (specifically nya cuz that man is a simp for his gf) Arin missing him by a second is hilarious to me.

•not sure about how I feel about Lloyd being the linchpin for the entire thing. Part of me thinks that it would have fit the shows themes better if all of them used their elemental powers or something else to power the cores to fix everything. But another part of me understands that Lloyd get main character privileges cuz he’s the son of ninjago god.

•still kinda frustrated that they are changing how elemental powers work. Originally they were from the first spinjitzu master, but the whole source dragon being the source (for lack of a better word) of the elemental powers, it completely retcons and nerfs the first spinjitzu master. It would have made more sense if they still came from the powers of the fsm and were gifted through the source dragons to people.

•the implication of the cursed realm merging with the rest of the realms brings up the question if the departed realm merged to? Does that mean no one can die??? Or is there some sort of force that still keeps the departed realm separated from the rest (like how the people in the land of the forgotten can’t leave) or can some dude just wander in to the departed realm and see like there dead grandma chilling with the fsm having tea or some crap like that.

•Lloyd going I forgot there are two of them now towards Kai and wyldfires antics is peak writing. And all the arson and explosions the two created is just beautiful.

•I think the Kai and wyldfire duo should be called like the arsonist or the kaboom duo

•THE HUGGG!!!! My boi was so happy looking when the tackle hug was done.

•I just cant get my brain to shut up about these two. They give off tired dad who sometimes gives in to his old chaotic ways he’s sworn he’s grown out of and living embodiment of chaos and fun daughter who drags her dad into crazy things.

Tdlr I loved this second half and had a few issues with it but it was still really good.

thank youuuuuuuuuu <33 and the truth is. idk. i am kinda just winging it and making a lot of adjustments as i go.... im not very orderly about it and have my thoughts kinda all over the place. heres some examples under the cut w what process pics i could find

direction process goes >>>

first did a pencil sketch for big shapes. was just placing stuff down. i wanted to make ref sheets for an art trade but didnt want to make a traditional type bc i hate drawing ppl standing full body (bc im bad at it 👍) also i did not have specific outfits in mind and was going more for a reference of the general vibe of the characters, so i just wanted a full body pose + face close up. to avoid having to show specific details. bc i was cheating. was originally going to have multiple text bubbles around for the character facts

did like two sketches digitally. messed around a LOT with placement. the little emote heads came out of me feeling like it was empty and boring on its own and they are fun to draw so why not include them. the multiple text bubbles seemed like a bad idea now so i took them out and just did one text wall.

i actually dont like the text wall now and think breaking it up wouldve been more fun visually but that would've required effort i didnt wanna put in LOL

^ i lost the pencil sketch for this one (i always do a pencil sketch) but it was actually just the two half body drawings at first with none of that shit at the bottom or the close ups until i was like fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk i gotta add smth around to make this look like theres stuff happening..... the idea was to draw the two main characters of the labb novel in some kinda comic format w panels around and i then. kept adding things until it seemed like i was getting somewhere. thats kind of my process for everything TT i think it helps to stay in a workshopping stage for longer if needed to get somewhere but i often get impatient LOL

im putting a stupid note abt this here bc im still annoyed at myself but in this novel, there was a bit about a crossword puzzle related to a murder case and i only thought of it afterwards that it would be kinda cool to put the sugar cubes in like a crossword puzzle formation....... why didnt i do that......

^ and heres some of the process for this one, but i lost a LOT of the steps for this. the beginning was totally different. the character wasnt as pathetic and scared looking at first but then i was like uhhhhh lets draw him that way :)

the first pencil draft was from a different perspective and it was gonna have a mirror composition to it kinda? but i wasn't able to make that look appealing so i deleted it. it still had the curtains tho but then i also included stuff with framed mirrors + other frames around

i decided to instead make the curtains be the focus of the whole piece to not make it so cluttered. character's pose was so different at first it was so bad i dont even wanna remember it. i took out the frames entirely bc i didnt think they added much to the piece in terms of the atmosphere. since like. the more i worked on it w the character's + the goat's expressions the more it gave a 'being hunted' feeling to it and portrait frames dont fit that vibe. which feels funny bc u look at it and thats all u can think abt but i wasnt even gunning for that when starting out. BE FLEXIBLE. TRUST THE PROCESS.

listening to bollywood music always gets me thinking abt the desi pines au again... so here is some more information

- scary-oke happens except instead of taking over midnight they sing some cheesy bollywood song instead. thinking something like gallan goodiyaan or disco deewane. OH OR GIRLS LIKE TO SWING... (Also yes they do the hooksteps. i have spent an ungodly amount of time imagining them doing the hooksteps)

- stan is a huge movie buff btw. he doesn't talk much about it but he lovesss sappy bollywood movies and those shitty (affectionate) hindi tv serials... the duchess approved gets replaced with one of those. which i think is fair because they dramatize everything to the same degree lmao

- thinking also about voiceclaims for the stan twins. i imagine the star twins would sound the same because despite their cultural background, they were still brought up in cali and developed accents accordingly. the stan twins tho were raised in mumbai so. have to rethink how they sound because i cannot for the life of me imagine stan speaking hindi in his regular new jersey accent. (he would definitely still have some aspects of the NJ accent because filbrick is still a new jerseyite, but still)

- speaking of religion, caryn is hindu and raises the boys as such. not particularly devout or spiritual, being a fake psychic (and astrologer in this au) and all, but she teaches the boys about the mythology and the traditions. filbrick is also still jewish, and the family celebrates events from both religions. lucky bastards get hanukkah right after diwali /j. present day ford and stan are atheists, but still celebrate the festivals and whatnot for the hell of it

- i am aware that irl, in both judaism and hinduism there are Differing Opinions about interfaith marriage to this day; however this is fiction so i am choosing to imagine it's not that much of an issue. maybe people are just kinda less bigoted, or maybe they were and maybe caryn and filbrick honestly just don't give a fuck. idk. it's not a main focus point of my au so i am choosing not to dedicate Too much thought to it

- instead of "poindexter" which is primarily an american slang nickname, stan calls ford "chashmesh" which is a hindi nickname for someone who wears glasses. he still calls him this when both of them wear glasses in their old age because he's petty. it annoys ford even more every time he does it WHDJSNEJD

- he also still calls him "sixer" which is funny because despite cricket being such a popular sport in india, they both probs suck ass at cricket and have never hit a six(er) in their lives lmao

- once stan and ford reconcile they quickly realize they can talk absolute shit about people in hindi and nobody here will have a clue what they're talking about

In my ceramics au, everyone is an artist (stede just bought an art gallery he knows nothing abt running and all his staff are artists and they have staff bonding at Queen Anne clay happy hour one night and this is how stede meets Ed and Izzy) I’m still working through my thoughts abt everyone’s artistic qualities etc but I wanna lay out my artist thought so far:

Jim: experimental contemporary jewelry (pushing the limits of what jewelry is/can be, experimenting with the thwarting facial recognition, and ideas of beauty)

Swede: tooth jewelry

Wee John: fiber artist and handpoke tattooer

Fang: whimsical playful functional pottery (doesn’t necessarily have to be function but often happens to be)

CJ: kitschy crude humor pottery

Stede: handbuilt/slab built ceramics - functional work that has a main focus on formal beauty. Pieces that serve a function but are intentionally made beautiful/ornate enough to stand their own as sculptures too

Ed & Izzy in the present run a pottery business that focuses on production pottery (large scale creation of identical pieces for being sold in stores etc). They make pipes that look like other things (food/objects), mugs/bowls/plates/pour overs that have some splashes of whimsy in a color choice or pattern or shape but are overall not terribly complicated. They are unique tho. they also have the Queen Anne clay storefront that has classes like happy hour clay classes, kids classes etc.

Neither of them focus too terribly much on their own personal art but sculptural non functional personal ceramic work blooms from each of them throughout the fic as stede encourages them to explore things beyond their business/actually feel their feelings.

In college they both were like way into performance art. Ed kinda for fun and bc he loved the physical exertion of it, but Izzy was 100% serious, putting his entire being into every performance for better or for worse. They egged each other on to bigger and bigger pieces and we’re very Marina and Ulay coded. Jack thought it was all stupid and just liked to join in bc he thought it was funny and hot to slap each other for long stretches of time but izzy was frustrated bc he didn’t get it.

Ed’s college art was more multi media (bc adhd yk) but was big on painting as a throughline. His work was big and messy and loud. He liked word working and sculpture and linocut printmaking.

There’s so much more but it would be a multiple page essay if I laid it all out rn.

Buttons: the QAC kiln tech. Loves to sculpt birds from clay.

Frenchie would of course be heavily focused on music but I haven’t settled all the details yet.

Roach obviously food based but again, not all ironed out.

Lucius: drawing, life drawing classes, focus on sensuality, queerness, the body, love

Pete: life model, wood working

Still thinking on the rest.

welcome to my enclosure I have many thoughts and doodles abt lila (shipping mostly)

General:

anthro au specific but since my Skid & Lila are both cats, some nights they'll just sit in total darkness (bc cats can see in the dark). it is great and enriching for both of them.

adding onto that, ever since Pump started coming over they added some glow in the dark star stickers along the walls to help him find his way around :)

Lila is transfem to me . I don't need proof or elaboration this is just something I know in my heart /lh

she probably started transitioning pretty young, which is something she feels lucky for. her parents were supportive ^_^ !!

that being said, her parents were rather protective, and she didn't get out too much as a youngin.

-- that is why she was so lax with Skid going outside. she was kind of overcorrecting for that.

She was probably deep into alt fashion in college (elaborated on later)

I feel like they've quietly been pining for a very long time now, but they've both been friends for so long and don't want things to change.

I think I can sum up all of the wagegang x Lila thoughts here: It just doesn't compel me, unfortunately. I don't see their potential dynamic as being particularly funny, or spawning interesting drama. Shrugs. Sorry!

specifically w Kevin though I think they would break up as soon as Skid is brought up LMAO. like he doesn't hate the kid but he isn't ready to be a stepfather imo.

(x Bob): Do they have a ship name? Anyw the age gap isn't my main issue with it. Lila's in her late 20s at the youngest, and they're both adults. I don't think anyone means tiny witch Lila when they bring this ship up anyways

nor is the stalking or attempted murder. I had a creepypasta phase, these behaviors are obviously Very Bad irl but they can be interesting to see in fiction. morbid curiosity and whatever.

My main issue is that their potential relationship is so much more interesting if it isn't romantic, you know? Like, how do they know each other? What was he to her? Why did she react so strongly to seeing him in her past? She seems eager to try to reject the idea that the man in the photo is him, but why? Was he important to her? Did she care about him?

TL;DR: I want more fics abt these two's relationship, but specifically non-romantically.

Deadflowers (x Patty): Not sure about this ship name. I don't see this one often. Anyw, I don't actually have any thoughts on Patty, so this is going to be super short.

I think they might have a nice time together on a date, but I don't think it could be anything serious.

Though, if they did.. overworked x overworked means they'll have to take care of the other, even tho it'll mean they call each other hypocrites for working so much all the time.

I could see it as a background/dressing ship, but not really as the focus of anything. sorry girls

Poisonwine (x Skid's Dad): I want to know more from onscreen canon first!!! But I think they could be super interesting!!!

The tweet that implies that he didn't care bout Lila is. hROUUUGH (<- thang whose heart is breaking). He didn't care, but did she know that? Did she care? I feel like she did..

There's no way Lila doesn't know about the cult. I'm a believer that she was a part of it herself until he died (the robes, "Remember Lila") ...Did she join because of her own beliefs, or because her husband was in it? Did he have to coerce her at all?

I think he was a good dad to Skid.

You may notice this is a lot of me dancing around what I actually think they're like. That's because I don't want to really solidify any specific readings of what's going on here. I am embracing the future with open arms!!

(x Pump & Susie's Parents): Pump & Susie officially get Skid as a brother AND they finally have one (1) parent who isn't always absent, just sometimes absent. other than as a background detail tho there's nothing here.

so i was watching columbo and its wild how theres just no show like it. like usually cop or detective show focus on the precinct or their home life in between trying to figure out cases but no, columbo is just simply there and tries to figure things out and whats amazing like sometimes you can just see on the look on his face that he has figured it out but theres still like 40 minutes left of him annoying the culprit.

EXACTLY, and that's why i honestly don't believe columbo should ever be recast or rebooted or anything like that. peter falk busted his ass to build the character of columbo and he put so much of himself into it. he was notoriously meticulous about the show, to the point of perfectionism. nbc hated him for it back then, and god knows no major studio would ever allow an actor nowadays to work the way he did back then. the bottom line is simply too important. but it's obvious that all the time and effort he put in mattered!!

people still love and remember columbo half a century after it began its main series run. but what's the appeal? clumbo!! as you said, there aren't really any recurring characters (except sargeant wilson and dog my beloveds 💞💞) or overarching plotlines. people want to see that funny liddle guy do his thing!!

just by being his funky detective self he's such a joy to watch :] every one of his idiosyncrasies had so much thought and care put into them down to the smallest details, which makes columbo seem like such a natural and real character.

oughhh ok i know i didn't have to write a whole essay but i'm just being a dummy and fawning over him,,,,,,he deserves it tho😭💞

Alright, I'm probably going to watch this multiple times and focus on each character individually at some point but for my first watchthrough I pulled up this post while watching and will send my thoughts/reactions, warning this will be very long

They just chilling on the couch this is so nice, Orange getting snacks :D

Wait I wonder how the time skip during Blue's walk with the piglins is gonna work? (Also Orange are you supposed to eat the melon I mean ig nothing's wrong with that)

AWW THEY WATCHING YELLOW DO HIS THING AWW Orange wants his drink tho let them refill the drink

RED'S HERE I WONDERED WHAT HE WAS DOING wait were those zombie spawn eggs did i remember that right

Yes yes they were okay welp, they got golems to help at least

Oh I forgot to pay attention to Blue's screen neat they didn't timeskip the walk they just walked through some smallish sections of biome

I love the fact that this whole time Red's just been causing chaos in the background and we never saw in the main thing, they're spawning rabbits now

GREEN LOOKED UP AT THE SAME TIME BLUE STARTED GETTING ATTACKED PFFFT they just looked at Yellow's computer tho, where's Orange and Red gone off to?

Oh Orange just got another drink and Red's playing with their rabbit

RED GOT TO SIT DOWN FOR A BIT YAY hang out with Yellow yes they friends this is nice

Oh we merged with canon now, Orange found the portal :D They timed Orange running through well with the music

BLUE'S SO SAD ABOUT THE NETHERWART NOOO but ah yes we get to see two Oranges on screen at once this is even more suspicious than the actual episode

Okay I have reached The Witch and can you just? Put a person/block in your inventory??? Is that how this works? Blue just runnin tho

Yellow why did you just start?? Eating grass??? Also Green's freaking out atm

Oh now Green's experimenting and Yellow's just vibing with his friends and Red's going on a swim and Blue has now gotten incredibly bored

I'm getting the sense Green's probably doing the same thing Blue is rn and is just taking a break after finishing his experimenting

Oh ig the witch is still carrying Blue cause Blue got startled when the witch jumped and started making zombie noises, they just went back to chilling tho

They started fighting and Blue started freaking out rip, they tripped and just stopped moving oh no

Oh hey wait Pig sorta noticed Green ALSO PFFT BLUE GOT FLIPPED UPSIDE DOWN

Just watching Blue trying so hard to get the Netherwart also Pig gets their own POV :D

Someone's gotta keep track of what Blue used to make all these potions at some point

PFFT THE MAIN FIGHT'S HAPPENING AND PIG'S JUST IN THE CORNER WITH THEIR OWN POV I WILL NOT GET OVER THIS also there was a scene I'm looking forward to seeing if they do an extra POV I'll get to that in a minute

They did not POV it :( I will forever be wondering why the other four took so long to get Red back into themselves and why Yellow was trying to feed Red a splash potion during the Blue/Witch 1-on-1, on the plus side we get Pig stealing all the potions

The CG are just watching and cheering as dyes XDD

This is not something I originally thought of how it would be POVed but it would be incredibly funny if they had a side screen with the entire group just standing there while Orange goes through their nether flashback, they did not do that however

I have reached Parkour, seems pretty much like the regular episode for a while so imma skip ahead hopefully I don't miss anything, skipped to about the end of the splitting paths

Alright I am going to need to rewatch this bit a few times later, also I need to check if they actually all did get the times it said they got and if not who won

NOO ORANGE DROPPED THE TROPHY OFF THE EDGE I THINK also Yellow got strangled for a second there

Mango was tryna draw and told Purple to go away I feel ya I don't like people watching me draw either, yooo they do have a security camera station - huh Purple told them to rewind Yellow's footage I think

OH THAT POV TRANSITION WAS COOL

Whatever's going on at least there are less POVs and the Purple music mixed with the other soundtracks occasionally is still cool, weird seeing multiple of some characters at times tho

Alright Blue and Yellow are together again so there's no one person missing nice, AND THEY'RE ABOUT TO JOIN THE MAIN GROUP

Alright we're at two POVs now and Green's gonna join soon, curious how POVs are gonna work in this upcoming fight

Even with these extra POVs I still don't know where Red went after Yellow force staffed them away

Scanning forward this actually looks relatively single-perspective so imma skip to the portions where there are multiple perspectives for ease of wanting to write this out

Hey wait in seeing all the destruction and stuff side by side, why didn't the village rift start in the sky? Everything else did

Hi! There's a non-xanon polyam ship I thought I'd write about and send to you and share since your blog's all about discussion of polyam in media.

The series The Big Bang Theory has a practically canon ship: Raj, Bernadette and Howard. Howard and Bernadette are married, Raj and Bernadette are ship-teased and Howard and Raj get a billion gay jokes.

They honestly are SUCH a throuple.

I have a LOT of problems with TBBT, a LOT. Toxic masculinity, racism, misogyny, queerphobia, ableism...

But it's entertaining and I still want to at least acknowledge this ship.

What's really dissapointing is that the series, like many, constantly jokes about characters being LGBTQ+ (Amy's bisexuality, Howard and Raj...) to the extent that it only isn't canin because it's "obviously" just jokes because gay so funny.

And it would have been so EASY to commit to the joke and ACTUALLY have LGBTQ+ characters. They wouldn't have had to write ANYTHING differently or hire new writers, literally just have the show exactly as it is... But make the gayness canon. Some good could have come out of that problematic show... But nope. And it is SUCH a missed opportunity.

And, back to Howard and Raj, them being a throuple woukd have worked REALLY well.

One of Raj's main traits was wanting love and hating being single, and his romances always failing. The 3 of them being together would have fixed that. He would have a fufilling relationship with a woman he loves and Howard, the character he's shown to be tye closest to. It's literally perfect. AND THEY ROBBED HIM OF IT-

It's rather frustrating that the writers were clearly lazy bigots, and couldn't bother to actually follow through on the jokes and rather blatant threesome subtext...

Anti-woke ppl often criticise representation bevause it's some huge deal and would ruin everything... But... It's not.

If they'd made it canon, it wouldn't have changed the characters or the dynamics at all, it wouldn't have been a big deal. The reason it's made into a big deal is because a lot of ppl think rep = entire character focus and narratives about issues, and don't understand "casual representation". Casual rep in TBBT coukd have existed, but tye writers wasted that opportunity. I could go on about how much Raj/Howard/Bernadette make sense and how it could habe been signgificant rep given how popular the series was...

Also quick shout-out to the lowkey non-monogamous vibes of Amy dating Sheldon and crushing on Penny (she literally imagined Penny/Sheldon fanfic in one scene) who's dating Leonard.

Anyway, so that's about it. Your blog is all about poltam ships and I wanted to share one I personally love tho I have a LOT of issues with the source material lol

vol 8 thoughts and vol 9 theories

Ok so. That was a lot.

I honestly had expected vol 8 to be way, way worse cuz I thought the mpreg was going to be the focus of the entire volume and it would just generally be uncomfortable and/or explained poorly. But it actually was not that bad.

Yes it is still weird that it implies bisco had been making milo pregnant slowly and by accident over the course of the couple years they knew each other, but this is also so fucking funny I can't be mad about it. ALSO PAWOO JUST ACCEPTS THAT THIS HAPPENED WITHOUT BATTING AN EYE. Like she finds out her brother somehow gave birth and is like "yeah ok cool, time to teach my step-daughter some sick polearm skills."

I also want to point out that milo was So Chill in this volume. yeah I know he threatened to torture someone that one time, but this is still, somehow, The Most Normal he has been since vol 1.

Why was he so much more chill, you may ask? Let's recall that vol 7 ended with him finally admitting his love to bisco, and then they+pawoo eloped together. Milo and bisco are often referred to by other charas in vol 8 as "a couple" or are insinuated to be lovers. So uh. Yeah. I think milo finally chilled tf out because he and bisco officially became A Thing, so now he isn’t constantly pining or playing watchdog for anyone who may flirt with bisco. And they also. They probably h

one thing that i was SO happy about with this volume was the lore related to jabi. i was really worried that he would never be brought up again, because after dying at the end of 6 he not mentioned at all in 7. i’m glad we got to see some emotional moments related to him - finding out that jabi lied to bisco about his mom being dead, marie learning of his death and quietly mourning him, jabi’s spirit appearing in bisco’s dream... all of those moments were really, really good.

plotholes!

The series isn’t unfamiliar with plotholes, but there were some in this volume that I felt were particularly big? namely:

The thing with the prayershrooms never ends up going anywhere

Marie takes bisco to look for prayershrooms, which can be used to alter someone’s soul and change the way they think. she intended to have sugar eat them in order to control the ways sugar could use her powers, saying that without them, she could destroy the world by throwing a tantrum or erase people from existence if they upset her. they do collect the prayershrooms, but nothing is ever done with them nor are they mentioned again.

i think the volume would have progressed VERY differently had she gone thru with it, as marie could have potentially manipulated sugar to do her bidding without bisco/milo realizing til it was too late. sugar would have been very helpful in carrying out her plan to rewrite the world.

It’s never explained how pawoo knows that sugar was born

Milo never told anyone about his feeling sick, and pawoo is not with them when sugar is born. bisco and milo subsequently go missing for a few days. the only others who know about sugar’s existence at this point are marie, meah, and youkan, none of whom pawoo interacts with in the time between escaping her room and meeting sugar. there is literally no way pawoo would have known

8 ending / 9 predictions

It had a lot of the typical end-of-series pairing off of characters and overall a very large focus on familial/romantic relationships and children. The epilogue also seemed to give a semi-conclusive end? Sugar and salt have grown up and gone off to do their own things, and the main trio is living happily and peacefully together. The world seems to have become a calmer place. So it feels like this was the closing of the main story.

But the tagline for vol 9 makes it sound like it's still focused on bisco and milo, which I mean.... is likely. The thing that confuses me about it is that they're still referred to as "boys", even tho by the end of vol 8's epilogue they would be in their 40s. It also states that this is taking place in the distant future. SO I think we can theorize a couple of options:

It happens during the 20 year gap we skipped, during which they time travel to the future

It’s bisco and milo's future reincarnations (apollo and domino......... TWO!!!!!!)

It’s a completely non canon story just for funsies

It’s an alternate timeline

i think all of these except the 3rd are very much on the table. i can’t see cobkubo making a whole volume that’s not actually part of canon

Soooo, I may have fell into the rabbit hole of "I'm focus, I'm read- Ooo! Another AU!" But I realized that There should be a LMK!Lion King version of these characters and I'm already thinking about some level ground context for it

For starters:

Pigsy and Tang would be the Timon and Pumba of this series because Yes! It's screaming their energy. The thing that will be different is the fact that they are a couple in this series.

The stoplight trio! I believe that they will come into the series later- HOLD ON, LET ME TALK! the reason why I say later is due to the roles they will be playing in the plot. But the characters they would play is: Redson:Kovu, Mk:Kiara, Mei:Vitani(but she would either have an opposite OC version of Vitani or she is just Vitani in general).

Princess Iron Fan and Demon Bull King would fit as a couple. PIF is Zira but DBK is her husband that follow their "Scar" but DBK had a almost death experience and disappeared so PIF would think that he is dead but he is actually alive BUT I won't give it away.

Sandy and Huntsman. I ship it, and I would probably have them as the Mufasa and Sarabi because fuck it they would be the cute couple that deals with this mess. (I'm gonna be crying when they get separated tho 😭)

Rafiki is gonna be an OC of anyone's choice. The OC that I am making for Rafiki is a panther named Tiki who is sassy, has riddles and ryhmes for years, and will be a guide to all in this series. Some background about her will be shown later on.

Lady Bone Demon is Scar hands down. She is just screaming Scar energy due to the fact that she gotten people to still follow her command even after she's dead.

The Hyenas will be the Scorpion Queen and the demon twins. I'm saying this because yes, they would be people that would follow LBD until they realize that they were being used and would turn on her.

Zazu is Nezhu. You can't tell me otherwise.

Simba and Nala is Sun Wukong and Macaque. With this couple, i can see these two alter in who is the Simba and the Nala since they are each other's balance. But for fun I'll make Macaque as Simba and Sun Wukong as Nala. The reason why one of them is a child to Sandy and Huntsman is due to the fact that their original parents where close friends to them and unfortunately passed away from an incurable illness. Thus Sandy and Huntsman take them in since they made a promise that if Macaque's parents die early they will take him in as their own. So that is why Macaque is the kin to the throne. LBD is salty about it.

That is all for now, the other characters like the mayor will be side characters that help along with the story or will make funny off the story scheming with the main characters. I'll will make more posts about it if you want me to, feel free to ask for any suggestions or thoughts about. Remember, make it positive and helpful not destructive. Enjoy!

so yeah we finally went to see Spider‑Man: Across the Spider-Verse and I would have to say I was surprised by the amount of ppl that were there when the movie started it like like the theater we were in was half full. but also of course there was some collectable goodies for this one also which you can see Here.

As for the movie itself I would have to say it was amazing! truly spectacular! and every other Spider-Man related adjective lol but seriously it was excellent I would have to say I did love it.

I feel that the story this time focus a bit more on Gwen at least I thought it did Miles is still heavily part of the story and does follow him but I do think it does focus more on Gwen to me it was a bit of a 60/40 where it was 60 Gwen and 40 Miles but there is alot going on in this movie you do have to pay attention!

It takes place like a year or so after the first one and Miles is busy doing his best being the Spider-Man of his corner of the Multiverse (Earth-1610) but is struggling with his normal/home life and his duties as Spider-Man. Unknowingly he creates a threat to the entire Multiverse known as the Spot and ends up reuniting with Gwen and his friends from the original movies and goes on a huge spider fueled adventure across the multiverse to stop him while at the same time meeting various Spider-People especially Miguel O'Hara Spider-Man 2099 (Earth 928 a possible Marvel future) who is bring all the Spider-People together to hopefully protect the Multiverse.

Like I said the movie is excellent I loved every minute of it and it quite long as animated movies go being it is like 2 and a half hours but the animation is excellent just like the first one and I feel each Spider-Person is given their own style of animation and there own look which really sets them apart.

The music for this is great as well both the films score and the various songs used through out. the voice acting is I thought was perfectly done, sure alot of it is easy at times when people are wearing masks but when they are not it is quite impressive. They are still very expressive with "mask eye" movements and body gestures which are all very fluid and life like.

One thing this movie has alot of is humor as Peter B. Parker says in the movie "Spider-Man is suppose to be funny" and this is just that the movie does have lots of funny moments to balance out the seriousness and drama. One of the most funny parts of the movie is when the Spot is introduced and his first fight with Miles is hilarious.

The references and cameos are mind blowing!! you'll have to go and see this like 15 times or watch it frame by frame digitally or possibility wear out the pause button when it comes on disk to see and get everything!! its truly amazing how much they put into this.

I have to say I thought the choice of the Spot for the main villain in this was pretty good being his powers are interdimensional and would work good in a movie that deals with the Multiverse and I felt that they did a really good job with the character in general

I how ever was not to sure about making Spider-Man 2099 a some what secondary villain. He wasn't really I think a villain but more of a person with good intentions that might not be the best way about doing things? They did a really good job with the character tho I thought he was handled nicely over all.

but yeah they kinda took everything that made the first one great and did more of that plus a bunch of new and amazing things you can tell that this is a huge leap form the previous movie.

So pretty much if you loved Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse you'll love this one too!

also there isn't any credit scenes so you don't have to sit and wait for that
