Metallica Anon here. 🤘 In light of the Hazbin leaks and reading everyone's reactions to them, I'm feeling two strong emotions now...

Relief I am feeling a great sense of relief that I, after nearly four years, am no longer emotionally to Hazbin Hotel or anything VivziePop related. I've read a lot of people's reactions here on Tumblr today, and a lot of speculations we had about HH came true. I wouldn't say I've dodged a bullet; it feels more like I've dodged an H-Bomb. I'd bet if I were still a fan of HH today and I watched the leaked episodes, my disappointment would've been immeasurable and my day ruined. Speaking of which...

Disappointment I am also feeling a great sense of disappointment, both with myself and with Viv. I know you've probably me complain about it a bunch these past few months, but I'm still disappointed in myself for allowing myself to become attached to Viv's shows. I'm still trying to figure out why I was so enamored in the first place. Maybe it was a certain gay spider? During those four long years, I had high hopes for Hazbin Hotel. As Peridot from Steven Universe once said, "It could have been great!" Unfortunately, HH was in the dagger manicured hands of Vivienne Medrano. She flushed away essentially every great in the HH Pilot and left us with the absolute clusterfuck of a show that unsurprisingly got its first two episodes leaked. I'm willing to bet that a few years from now, HH will be ranked among some of the worst cartoons ever. (Right up there with Ren & Stimpy: Adult Party Cartoon, Velma, Teen Titans Go, etc.)

*sigh* This is like the 87th time I've ranted about something VivziePop related to you. I don't know how you put up with me or all the other Anons, Chai, but I applaud you for it. 👍

One last thing... Eat shit, Viv! 💩

I think you did indeed dodge an H-bomb, but don't be too hard on yourself for getting attached to the characters. Those characters, written by more talented people, were really something special. Seeing this dumpster pileup makes me grateful we got to know them for the brief time we did.

I’ve been obsessed with service-sub!mick and hh!carlos lately.

I’ve been thinking about their doms having set tasks that they must complete every day;

1) As their domme comes home, taking their shoes off and kissing their thighs.

2) Having a coffee ready every morning

3) Perhaps, cleaning their collars and/or toys everyday to show mommy/ domme when they come home.

But also, tasks for themselves like drinking water, exercising, perhaps writing in a journal and/or telling their domme everyday what they like about scenes, what they don’t, things they’d like to change etc.

HH!CARLOS:

I defiantly think that house husband Carlos would have coffee ready every morning. He's always up before you on weekdays, because he goes on his early morning run and gets breakfast ready. So Carlos makes coffee for you every morning and wakes you up with your coffee and a forehead kiss every morning.

Making you your coffee is one of his favourite parts of the day, because starting his day by knowing that he's being a good sub and making you happy is just perfect. He adores it.

And then while you drink your coffee in bed and get ready for the day, Carlos makes breakfast. He always asks if you want anything in particular for breakfast, and will happily make whatever you ask for or sometimes you'll ask him to just surprise you and then he'll do his absolute best to make sometimes you'll like.

Of course you always praise him making you the coffee and breakfast, maybe you always hand feed him breakfast? He adores it so so much, makes him feel like the best service sub ever because it means he was so so good that you actually hand fed him.

And then he has so many other tasks throughout the day while you're working, but I think that most of those aren't tasks you've actually given him but tasks he's given himself? You have given him the overarching task of looking after the house and keeping the house clean, but he decides how he goes about that and what he cleans when.

If he ever seems a little sad or uncertain when you get home, then you'll ask him what tasks he did that day just so that you can praise him for it, because of course he deserves it.

Other than making you coffee, I ADORE the idea that he cleans his collar once a day. Carlos adores his collar, and he waits for you to come home every day with his collar on ready to serve. So he cleans his collar towards the end of the day when he starts waiting for you to get home.

Oh and I love the idea that you make Carlos write in a journal every day? It's so good for his mental health and he loves proudly announcing to you that he's written in his journal that day because he knows he's going to get praised for it.

SERVICE SUB!MICK (SUGAR BABY AU):

I love the idea of Mick waiting at you at home for you and then taking your shoes off and kissing your thighs.

Mick loves waiting for you at home, and especially loves when you come home and he's already tidied up and gotten dinner ready and he just feels like the best sub ever. Before, you two used to live together, Mick would beg for permission to go to your place before you got home so that he could get everything ready for you.

For Mick, getting everything ready and cleaning the house and servicing you the moment you get home is so much more important than anything you could actually get him. Even though he's supposed to be your sugar baby, he cares so much more about servicing you and being a good boy for you.

And well, all you want is to see Mick happy so of course if Mick wants to be home when you get there, then of course he can. He always greets you with the cutest smile, so so happy to see you and so happy to get to take off your shoes and kiss your thighs and hear about your day.

I also think that other service sub things you make Mick do is stuff like making him bring you coffee at work some days and you have tasks surrounding looking after her imself like drinking enough water and going to the gym and eating enough meals.

I want to get into the Primarch family drama, but don't have the energy/money to read the whole HH (so far I've only read Mechanicum and Titandeath). Do you have any recommendations?

hell yeah! so, okay, money is an easy fix just shoot me a private ask but i super vibe w/ not having enough time, so i'm gonna list some books that i've read that were good and some books that i've heard are good from the horus heresy series

now, books i've read that are good:

Horus Rising, by Dan Abnett, first book in the heresy series. all my jokes about horus being a theatre kid come from this book. this book will make you very deeply enjoy the archtraitor and be sad he doesn't get written as well or as interesting basically anywhere else. the rest of the initial trilogy (False Gods and Galaxy in Flames, whose name i always forget), are... more meh? Galaxy in Flames is fine, but it didn't stay w/ me much (though it is definitely a bit of a cathartic release for Horus Rising), and False Gods is one of Graham McNeill's "when it's good it's good, when it's bad it's Pretty Fucking Bad" ones; there's some bits that are very good, but don't go into Horus's chaos-inducing peyote trip with high expectations).

If you do read the whole Horus Heresy starting trilogy and get Attached, or if you like the general existence and concept of Rogal Dorn, the continuation to the trilogy (...quadrilogy?), The Flight of the Eisenstein, is an unsungly fun book, to me. it's not the best, but i feel like nobody else read it but me and it was very neat -- plus the moment where Dorn punched drywall has lodged itself in the depths of my brain cavity in a way i cannot describe. would def reccommend

I could talk for paragraphs about Fulgrim by Graham McNeill, and that's not a compliment, but also it is. You should read it if you would read terrible Amazon erotica about thinly-veiled Sephiroth or Lotor expies, or if you like to watch car crash videos, or if you have rejection-sensitive dysphoria and a predisposition for exceedingly fruity men. The most i can say about this book without rambling for 3 hours is that it documents Fulgrim's fall with an almost ironically appropriate narrative decadence / contrivance / overdramatism / soap operesquism that ends up feeling almost emotionally manipulative, which worked for me but might not work for everyone. This book is the reason I'm obsessed with fulgrim, so if you want to be obsessed with fulgrim, you can try and read it; but be aware that this is a document of his lowest moment. i'll put recommendations of higher moments for him later, if you'd rather skip the gorey details. also, if emotional abuse, drug use or self harm trigger you, this book might not be for you; it's the Special Victims Unit of the heresy. i am SO deeply tempted to talk about the book's quality but this has gone on for long enough that me letting you know it's in the oddly amateurish-but-not-untalented-feeling intersection between copyright-friendly sephiroth erotica, warhammer 40k novel and novel-length slow-mo shock video WILL have to suffice until i make a coherent review of this book

Now, for two books I both read in one sitting around the same time: Descent of Angels and Legion. Should you read these? You should read Descent of Angels if Lion El'Jonson's 1d4chan page describing him as a noble asshole intrigues you, IMO, but that's the only primarch it REALLY features so if Lion isn't your vibe that's fine; and Legion is... hard to describe, it was very fun to me but it's like the most DEEPLY contrived and purposefully obtuse and confusing book ever, it's like a really weird fever dream to have about Dune and James Bond one afternoon; if you're compelled by things that make no fucking sense, like I am, I wholeheartedly recommend it. it also introduces John "Manipulate Mansplain Manwhore" Grammaticus; that nickname is not an exaggeration, all he does in the novel are those 3 things. I think he's like, the inverse of my poor little meow meow where I think he's hilarious whenever he's pathetic and booably entertaining whenever he's successful, but I think opinions are pretty varied on him. So this is a strong "maybe".

A Thousand Sons is the least McNeill that McNeill can get, and that's a compliment. The best way I can describe this book is as a technicolor exercise in utterly excruciating dramatic irony. This book is a like a poke bowl made out of your internal organs, but like, in the sunniest way possible, and there's like, cubed watermelon in that poke bowl and stuff. Every time Magnus's life is ruined, fire is involved, and it's a very light-bringing flame, but it's flame nonetheless. It's good! You should read this book! I enjoyed it very deeply <3. I love that it canonized that Magnus's sense of style is approximately the gaudy golden-brimmed tiger-striped furniture from the sims 4 Get Famous

Okay, before I go back to books I've personally read, here are some I've heard are good from others which are on my to-read list:

The First Heretic (tried to read it but acquired a deep new chasm of depression 4 chapters in and so it sits unfinished in my bookshelf). Know No Fear (source of the "You shit, Lorgar. Are you drugged?" quote, which i have memed on before). Angel Exterminatus (Fulgrim and Perturabo hating each other, lovingly; additional context for what Fulgrim's doing is in the short story Reflection Crack'd, also by G McN, but RC is the most viscerally, deeply, like... sexually uncomfortable thing I've yet experienced in warhammer 40k that didn't involve the word 'daemonculaba', so if you'd rather just get the cliffnotes of what happens in that extremely important for fulgrim lore and yet DEEPLY uncomfortable story, let me know and i'll share; also Angel Exterminatus is the only big fulgrim book i think i've yet to read and i'm genuinely itching to get my hands on it but my to-read is bonkers long and i've had an ask sit in my inbox for OVER A YEAR asking me about my onion on other books so i'm reading those rn). Betrayer (@/ask-the-crimson-king made a very strong case for it here). i also vaguely remember my bud @/horuslupercal telling me The Buried Dagger was a good mortarion book so if you like Morty you might like it <3

AND THREE MORE books i've read and liked that are way later on so i put them here at the bottom

Vengeful Spirit by Graham McNeill. trigger warning for incestuous baseline imperials (it's part of a whole "the imperium is decadent and horrible" thing, it's not portrayed like a good thing, but nonetheless it's there and very explicitly). other than that, DEEPLY fucking good book; will spoiler you to shit as to some stuff from several of the above mentioned books (namely the entire Horus Heresy trilogy, Flight of the Eisenstein, a few books in-between dealing to what happened with the trilogy's non-primarch characters that i haven't read and thus can't name, and Angel Exterminatus), but once you're confident you know what's going on or if you don't care about spoilers, this book. this book. i've described it as Graham McNeill going "hey, you know False Gods? Wanna see me do it again beat by beat, but this time way way way better?", down to the peyote trip (FINALLY JUSTICE ABOUT HORUS'S PEYOTE TRIP). It's kind of like A Song of Ice and Fire: incest subplot aside, really fucking good. Also features some INTERESTING hints at deeplore, which as a recovering skyrimhead i can always vibe with. it has horus! fulgrim! mortarion! leman! dorn! malcador! a bunch of space marines -- excellent little horus aximand characterization! (i like to call him junior) and a bunch of spoiler characters for the books i mentioned above! sowwy. also mechs! mild kaijus! sieges! implied perpetuals! yeah<3 vengeful spirit FUN as hell

from the primarch series, Fulgrim: The Palatine Phoenix. this has THE SINGLE BEST fulgrim characterization ever imo. + in the same way Fulgrim is fulgrim's lowest, Palatine Phoenix is his highest, and that is NOT complimentary to fulgrim, he comes off as a complete asshole. i loved this novel so much that i wrote a 6000 word essay about it (!!!) and i don't think i've even run out of things to say about it, just of coherency with which to express it. choice, high-tier fulgrim enjoyer shit, and if you ever get way too mad about the way the imperium is literally just taking over planets and online people say the imperium was good and shit you should totally absolutely read this book. fulgrim is a bitch and i like him so much

another fulgrim one but the short story Imperfect is super cute until it's not. i won't spoiler what it's about if you don't know bc i heard it as an audiobook while drawing and it hit me like a fucking truck but it's epic and i can wholeheartedly rec it

and now for some rough impressions: stuff by dan abnett and aaron demski bowden is generally considered good as far as i've heard. graham mcneill has vivid imagery but varying substance, like a series of cake boss patisseries with different fondant to actual cake rations. if you like a specific primarch, reading their primarch novel usually seems like a safe bet, except in konrad's case apparently? i haven't read it, can't confirm, but people don't seem to like it. opinions on siege of terra are HEATED, go into those books with the expectations you'd have of an xmen crossover event or the fifty seventh time dc tries to redo crisis on infinite earths, lots of retcons happening left and right but interesting bits where you can find them.

also, here's the lexicanum wiki page on every official horus heresy book; pick and choose the ones that look interesting and take a peek. if you're new to the heresy it's overwhelming, but once you're somewhat familiar with it, it's an excellent resource to just go and do grocery shopping for ur faves!

AND finally: NEVER be afraid of reading warhammer 40k books, because if they're bad you'll be able to tell and if they're good you'll be able to tell. amd NEVER be afraid of disagreeing with anyone else about what warhammer 40k books are good and which ones are bad or of holding unpopular opinions about which books are bad; channel that embarrassment into raw passion and change people's minds! Also, never feel forced to read any book -- give them a chance if a friend vouches for them, sure, but feel free to discard anything you've tried! And have fun!!! <3

yeah it really is,, n I don't blame you for not having squirrel n bramble together.. not only is the gap awful but he's been so been to her in the past n they should just never get back together imo.. n yeah squirrel+night sounds nice but leaf would be better with her.. an yeah jkgkf I hate leaf+moth for that reason too.. also, not to be nosy, but is there any big troubles you've had with remaking the family trees? other than dust+fern an ivy+fern? just incase there's any other dead ends..

yeah like hh boTH squirrel and bramble were kinda lOT they were both ding dongs, brambleclaw way more but they kinda just??? doNT have any form of a healthy relationship

and yeah no im soft for leaf and nightcloud just them being like,, fuck crowfeather patrol. and like squirrel raising the three and them having a mom, still loving leafpool but her being with nightcloud and being that second parental figure breezepelt was looking for. leafpool acting as the father figure that crowfeather wouldn't provide and helping shape breezepelt into a better person, iv written about this exact thing already somewhere id had to dig for it

and hh not totally yet tbh, or at least nothing off the top of my head. like i usually touch up on things as their mentioned to me or brought up or i think about them lol. im sure there are others but i can’t think of any like right now in this moment

but a lot of them i feel are fixed by just being like, it just isnt that way because its dumb! if theres a character you like and feel is important to some form of plot and want to them to exist but their parents are related you can always say ‘this queen had these kits but shrug the dad isnt known’ or do what they do with other clans where apprentices and warriors appear out of thin air without any sign of parents to be seen lol

but yeah no off the top of my head i cant think of anything specifically. but i know there is a lOT of characters and their relationship that need to be fixed or touched upon and stuff.

also a funny but shitty reminder to this nonsense because i think about it so often

Usually, for monsters like him, they’d have a clutch of a few eggs both parents take care of but... Magic is adaptive to the partner, and you were pregnant with his and yours.

When he finds out... He’s overjoyed. That is the reason to mate. He’s always wanted to be your mate, and while he has been with you for awhile now... There’s just... Something so special about having a baby with you. That... That’s something- someone he made with you- the one he thinks is the most perfect being he’s ever laid his eyelights upon. Black is someone who definitely loves kids... And while you’re pregnant, his territoriality spikes up by 10 times- He never wants anyone near his mate, but now that they’re going to have a bigger family he’s going to make sure they’re safe. Lot’s of magic marks he leaves behind, a lot of watching for anyone coming near- and any monster that even comes close to his border will receive heavy threats. Most times though, his favorite thing to do is just hold you close to him in the safety of his cave, holding you in his arms and tentacles... A few probably going over your stomach to rub it, feeling the growing soul inside you.

When you go into labor... He’s going to be surprised when the water breaks, because you’re already in water and he smells the... The different water... And his lights immediately dart to you, clutching yourself and looking to him. He’ll bring you out of the water so you’ll have more support while keeping your lower part in the water... The baby is half monster, it has to breathe water before it breathes air, or else water will be to heavy with it- and he’s very prepared. Living in the wild, there aren’t much hospitals under water though there are definitely ‘nurse’ like monsters that can help out but... Sans has some instinctual, ingrained ‘knowledge’ in him that can help you out while you go into labor. He’ll keep you steady with his hands and tentacles, giving you soothing magic that’s better than any of the anaesthetics or others they give you in human hospitals- it’s way less painful than it would’ve been, and when the baby’s out, he’ll let it learn to swim before picking it up gently in his hands, climbing up to you and pulling you off the water to settle on the sands/rock, wrapping around you and keeping the baby in the middle, keeping them moist and being very very affectionate to the both of you.

Sea-dwelling monsters do have schools, though they are rare- but Black would be very very reluctant in letting his little baby go. Monsters don’t exactly need education in an environment like this. He’ll teach all he can- he already has all the knowledge an inkling like his baby would need. He’ll teach them- unless you insist on them knowing about the surface- and that would need a lot of convincing, and again... He doesn’t want anything to do with the surface. But if you’re at the stage where you’re close enough to have a family with him, well.. There’s a lot more chance you can return- but of course return back to the water because you have family there.

And here’s a little scene :3

You sit on the sand, letting the breeze cool you off as you watch the little thing splash around on the beach of Skull Reef. You’re glad not a lot of humans come here, now... You wouldn’t know what to do with yourself if someone were to stumble upon your baby and possibly bring harm to it. You’d definitely fight them with all your fury if they so much as thought to hurt your little one... But you know before you can even stand up and grab the tyke into your hands- Sans would be there in a flash, possibly doing something violent. He’s always off shore... Doing hunts in his territory for some fish- so he can keep eye on his mate and offspring. Your child played a bit more and comes up to you, making grabby motions with their hands and going

“Ma!”

“Oh sweetheart!” You coo, picking them up and placing them on your lap, playing with them a bit. Tickling them and kissing their head- hearing them squee adorably, responding wonderfully to everything you do.

When Sans climbs up from the sea, ready with little snacks for everyone... He has to stop for a bit. Watching his beautiful, wonderful mate... Playing with his baby- their baby. Laughing, smiles on their faces, hugging each other... His soul has never felt so warm, and his eyelights dilate.

“mate...” He calls to you, literal hearts in his sockets. “i’ve brought us a little meal.”

He’ll quickly scoop up the both of you, wrapping his tentacles around you and placing the baby on your lap, covered by him, hugging your chest and sighing onto your head, handing over the food. The three of you eat quietly, with Sans occasionally prodding your face with a tentacle to tease you, leaving tiny marks on you and holding you closer to him, watching you eat, helping to feed his baby...

He’ll be content, as long as a scene like this, his beloved mate and his little one with him...
