Rules: List 8 tv shows for your followers to get to know you!

In no particular order, with explanations:

Harlots on Hulu (2017 - 2019): a colourful, well-acted, diverse period drama set in middle 18th century London, featuring prominently a canonical bi lead character -> Charlotte Wells (it’s confirmed in the written script of the show and Jessica said so in multiple interviews). I watched this show perhaps a bit too young given that the subject matter is… 18th century sex workers. But, Charlotte Wells was one of my early “she’s so me” characters and she was played wonderfully by Jessica Brown Findlay, also, Charlotte Wells at least her outward demeanour and appearance inspired my original character, Audrey.

AMC’s IWTV (2022 - ongoing): I am the target audience for this show, enough said.

WWDITS (2019 - ongoing): it’s about that messed up vampire found family/polycule the comedy edition. Also props to Taika Waititi and the writers for knowing pop cultural vampires.

TURN: Washington’s Spies (2014 - 2017): it is about that messed up found family/polycule — cause I said so, and, they’re spies and it’s the 18th century and American revolution this time. A new-ish edition to this list, I blame @musicboxmemories (affectionate).

Bridgerton (2020 - ongoing): I watched season 1 during the pandemic out of sheer boredom, I wasn’t terribly into it until season 2. It is of course, not perfect, but I love seeing South Asian women stay employed, also I love the aesthetics and soundtrack even if it’s not remotely accurate. It’s fun escapism and not as hefty as the other tv on this list, and that’s okay.

Hannibal (2013 - 2015): a new edition to this list, but, predictable, given how much I like horror and Anne Rice’s work. I fell down a tumblr rabbit hole and now Alana Bloom is another character on my “she’s so me” list. A win for the bisexuals.

Good Omens (2019 - ongoing): I read the book first, purely because I wanted to. Then I watched the show for David Tennant, then I related too hard to Anathema Device and Crowley, also… as a bi, I’m holding them both very gently.

Jhansi Ki Rani (2009 - 2011): I learned most of my early Hindi through this show! A Hindi tv show covering the life of anti British imperialist Rani (Queen) Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi, from cradle to funeral pyre. It makes this list purely based on the mental nostalgia I have hearing the theme song and because I wanted to be gender norm breaking sword wielding, Calvary bound, badass anti imperialist Rani Lakshmi Bai so bad when I was younger. It is half the reason I initially did horseback riding and spent a decade fencing.

Hi,

Turning 25 this month at naalala lang kita. Mas maganda kung ipllay mo yung song habang nagbabasa hahaha. Theme song ng first movie date natin, na almost nag end tayo sa same ending ng movie. Ikaw palagi naaalala ko sa song na ito.

Alam mo ba nung 2017, ikaw yung wish ko sa birthday ko noon. Kahit alam kong wala akong pag asa sayo, kasi nakita ko na yung standard mo nuon sa guy. Palagi pa naman ako malungkot nuon kasi alam kong may gusto ka ng iba. Palagi ako nakacheck sa mga stories mo, at talagang umiyak pa ko sa selos nung nakita kong may nagregalo sayo ng stuff toy na pagong. Sabi nila, kumpletuhin mo yung simbang gabi, yung isang iwwish mo, panigurado matutupad yon. Kinumpleto ko yon kahit magisa lang ako nagsisimba. At ikaw yung wish ko noon. Nalaman ko din non na totoo pala yung kasabihan na yon, after ilang months nagawa kong mahalin mo ko. For 4 years, naranasan ko mahalin ng pinapangarap kong babae nuon. Una ko din naranasan mag mahal ng sobra. Nagkaron man ng ups and downs yung relationship natin, pero never ko niregret na minahal kita ng sobra. Palagi ko dadalhin yung memories na binigay mo, and palagi ako magiging proud na naging girlfriend kita for 4 years. Lahat ng sacrifices ko, at sacrifices mo sakin, lalo na yung mga paghatid ko sayo kahit gabing gabi na, nakadorm pa ko pero mas pinili ko umuwi para may kasama ka pauwi. Kahit pagod sa byahe, nakangiti parin ako. Never ko ireregret dahil atleast sa mga ginawa ko na yon, napangiti kita ng sobra, na naparamdam ko sayo na special ka. Naalala ko pa na talagang hindi kita matiis na hindi ka kakain, gagawa ko ng way para madalhan ka, kahit malate ako sa klase. Tapos ayoko kita palaging sinasama sa mga kablock ko kasi talagang pinagdadamot kita. Kaya akala mo hindi ako proud sayo. Yung mga puchu puchu travels natin, na puro mall lang at watsons ang napupuntahan. Tas yung ilang beses na kinabahan tayo dahil sa mga pinag gagagawa natin. At suking suki pa tayo sa square tuwing gabi. Yung unang punta mo sa bahay na akala mo kakainin ka ng buhay ng magulang ko sa takot mo. Minsan nakakatawa talaga pag naiisip mo yung mga ganong moments natin.

I'm sorry kung marami ding times na nasaktan kita, at para sa mga mistakes ko, kahit gaano tayo kasaya, hindi rin ako yung perfect guy, at sometimes, natutukso rin ako. kahit sa mga toyo mo nuon, hinding hindi ako nagsawa manuyo. Sana naging magandang memory parin ako sayo kahit sa mga draw backs ng relationship natin.

Siguro nga fully healed na yung puso mo ngayon, at masaya ka na sa current life mo at masaya ko para sayo. This time, bago mag end yung year magwwish ulit ako tungkol sayo, pero ayoko na maging selfish. Wish ko na sana, maging successful ka pa lalo, makuha mo yung pure hapiness na hinahanap mo, at makakuha ka ng perfect guy for you, eto yung winish ko nung Birthday ko, at sa darating na christmas. Sobrang sakit man sakin, pero I need to let you go. Para narin siguro saakin, na kahit papano maka move forward ako. Para narin hindi ako gabi gabi umiiyak bago makatulog. Never ako nagdelete ng messages at pictures kasi sinsave ko yon as memories. Pero baka kailangan ko ng gawin yon kasi mahihirapan lang ako lalo. Kung kailangan mo ng kausap, nandito pa din ako. Sana basahin mo padin to, kasi sayang naman effort ko, naiyak padin ako habang nagttype. Hindi ko alam ano ba yung mas better. Gusto kita antayin ulit maging ready. Na matanggap mo ulit ako. Kahit bumalik ako sa umpisa, kahit gaano katagal. Pero naiisip ko rin na baka hindi na maging healthy yung ganon.

Sa totoo lang gusto ko na mag end ng buhay kasi hindi ko na kaya lahat itake ng sakit. Pumipigil nalang sakin yung gastos ng family ko kalag ginawa ko yon.

Today’s ganap | January 6, 2024

We woke up late kasi sabado naman at nag-tagaytay kami kagabi. Wala lang, trip lang namin mag tagaytay ng mga kapatid ko. magkakape kape sana sa hiraya pero nauwi kami sa mcdo dahil sobrang haba ng pila. Diko gets ang hype nun kasi pareho lang naman ding starbucks yan tska yung sa mall. Tapos the fact na gabi na at hindi mo na makikita yung taal. Puro pa mga bagets, parang mga hindi pa ata nagpaalam sa magulang haha. Anyway, sabi ko nga hindi tayo magiging hater this year.

Nagising nga kami ng tanghali, magaaral sana ako kaso sabi ko maglilinis nalang ako ng bahay dahil back to school na ang mga bagets sa monday at baka mawalan pa ako ng time para maglinis. Ayoko pa naman magaral ng sobrang gulo ng bahay. Gusto ko neat, malinis at walang alikabok (ayun nga kaya lalong na trigger ang allergy ko). Una kong nilinis yung mga libro ko kasi nag dedeclutter talaga ako dahil hindi ko na rin naman mababasa yung iba kaya ibebenta nalang namin kesa nakatambak sa bookshelf ko at wala ng room yung mga new books ko (charot! Yun pala reason eh no?)

Ganun na din pala kasi kadami ang books ko as in, siguro yung mga books ko nung 2010-2017 kung diko binenta at binigay meron na siguro akong library. Nag mamature na kasi tayo at nagmamature na din yung mga books na binabasa natin. Dati love na love ko ang sci-fi, YA, and romance (lapagan mo ako ng colleen hoover, divergent, thg, fifty shades, you name it, lahat yan kaya ko ikwento sayo) ngayon gusto ko yung pang mature na basahan, like Christian books, historical and classics, ang ganda kasi ng naidudulot sa buhay ko, parang nagiging malalim kang tao. anyway, after ko maglinis nag late lunch kami at nagbasa nalang ako sa ipad ko. nakatulog ako sa sobrang pagod siguro dahil nag laba din kami ng damit. medyo masakit din ulo ko kaya 5:20 na ako nagising. Pumunta kami sa church para mag practice ng songs for tomorrow’s service. We also had dinner with friends dito sa bahay and talked a lot about past life. Sarap lang sa feeling kasi mutual yung mga naging ganap niyo sa buhay.

Ayun lang muna bye. May simba pa bukas need na matulog ng maaga. Wala lang gusto ko lang talaga share sainyo ang ganap ko today dahil feeling ko ang productive ko haha

She began her career as a dancer for the likes of Kanye West and Guns N' Roses. She was working as a background dancer on the sets of a Bollywood film in Mumbai when she was scouted by a modelling agency bringing in a five-year contract with Lakme, India's highest top end cosmetic company as its brand ambassador. She also featured as a backing dancer for the £1 Fish song by One Pound Fish Man in December 2012. This launched her career in modelling as she went on to do assignments with reputed brands like Satya Paul, Miss Sixty, L’Oreal, Skechers, Nokia and Olay among others, besides participating in fashion shows with designers like Alison Kanugo and Neeta Lulla.

In 2014, she appeared in Mad About Dance. She also did the lead vocals for the film. A Punjabi film Goreyan Nu Daffa Karo with singer Amrinder Gill followed soon after.
