Good morning, everyone!

I’ve been in my outpatient program for almost a full week now, and it’s been fantastic meeting other people who have severe anxiety and depression—you can easily forget so many people from all walks of life struggle with the same things you do.

I have also been spreading the gospel of Bo Burnham (lol) to everyone I meet! 😉

I’m feeling hopeful and grateful right now, and I’m trying to remain optimistic about my future. Because of this, I decided to get a chicken charm for my birthday bracelet that I got from my ex-husband.

It’s just a simple reminder that if I’m struggling, I can always reach that meadow someday 🐔

I hope everyone here is doing well, but if you are having mental health problems, know that you are appreciated and loved. I realize that sounds trite (and Lord knows such sentiments would have sounded completely hollow to me when I was spiraling on 7/25), but it is completely true.

You are a human being who will have faults and that's OKAY! 💗

Okay, I've had this ask for a while, just waiting for the right time to go on a complete rant. Sorry about taking so long, but that day has finally come...

This is the overarching storyline of Legacy of the Fallen... kind of

First, context- a huge and pivotal piece of my plot is the destruction of the Hecathian homeland thirteen years before Legacy of the Fallen begins. In this attack, millions were killed, and thousands of survivors were displaced. This attack was carried out by species that Hecathians had gone to war with, and the subject group of this post: the Yaldaeit.

The Yaldaeit has simmered in the background of Hecathian society for hundreds of years, holding lasting hatred for the political unification of the 18 nations of Ariya. They are in the background of many scandals to discredit the central government and carry out assassinations of influential figures. The group is widespread but tightly knit. Most members have been raised in its ideology, while others are recruited for their access to information or their unique positions.

They are a political cult driven by the desire to destroy what makes modern Hecathian culture and rebuild their society on their image. They just had to make the right connections and wait for the right moment to act. They sought out the species that had been ravaged by Hecathians going to war to "quell the threat before it strikes."

Their leader is mysterious, her identity is not even known to her subjects, but she is referred to as the true Queen of Ariya. While Ariya continues to be a battleground, plagued by continual resistance by the remaining survivors, she has taken residence on the planet of Gorsuera, the home of their closest allies, and a place that few Hecathians would dare to visit.

The war for power only just began with the massacre that took place that day and is a force that many survivors are still unaware of, but not for long. Their presence is returning to the picture as they narrow in on the location of more survivors, and the war for Ariya rises once again.

They are everywhere, hidden among allies and sheltered by shadows. No one is beyond suspicion, and things are not always as they seem. They are always there, waiting for the ripe moment to strike and finally achieve their goal of ridding the universe of the remains of Hecathian society.

Their presence is growing in Legacy of the Fallen and I'm developing a new series called Awakened about Etesha, born and raised in the Yaldaeit, being sent out into the greater society on her first mission. She is suddenly faced with questions about everything she was taught to believe and a chance to build a life she never considered before. Stay tuned...

New Series Announcement: Awakened

I've mentioned this one before, but Part 1 of this series will be released sometime in the next couple of weeks. This is the third Expanded Works project of mine that will join Vixen and Ruin as a part of the Legacy of the Fallen Universe.

Genre: Fantasy, Politics, Spy, Action, Drama, Eventual Romance

Setting: Southern Wotakour, 10 years before the attack

Synopsis:

Etesha is a young woman who has grown up within the Yaldaeit political cult. Raised to believe in the extreme ideologies and measures of the group, she has been preparing for her role in their activities for years. She has finally been given a true assignment as an undercover agent within the observance system. In this new position, and seeing society outside of her sheltered community, she begins to question whether she still agrees with what the Yaldaeit does and whether she will carry out her mission or not.
