The Selection of James T. Kirk: Everyone Meet August Maine!!
Below is the bio of August Maine, a selected for the competition held by @princejamestkirk:
OC Name: August Maine
Faceclaim: Chris Evans
Tumblr media
Age: 28
Caste: Four
Occupation: My parents own a farm and I have worked the land with them ever since I can remember, raising the animals, planting and harvesting crops, and doing whatever kind of manual labour they need me to do.
Province: I was born and raised in Whites.
Family Info: My mothers name is Tamarah Maine, she is 53 years old, and is married to my father Eugene Maine, and he is 57 years old.
My grandparents on my mothers side are her mother, Minnie Delmuth, who is 82, and her father Leeran Delmuth, deceased at age 78.
My grandparents on my fathers side are his mother, Velmina Maine, and his father, Compten Maine, both deceased at age 65 in a car accident.
Personality: For positive traits I would say kind, open minded, very loyal, grounded, and determined.
For negative traits I would say my worst, and I know it's something I have to work on, would by my extreme shyness. Once I am comfortable you will never stop me from talking, but it takes a while. Other then that I would say I’m a bit closed off at first, don't trust people easily, sometimes I am cautious about trying new things, and I am very quiet and soft spoken.
Likes: I enjoy anything that has to do with animals. Being raised on a farm I have been around all kinds. I love going for hikes with Zipper, or taking trail rides on my horse. I also love art, sketching, painting, I have always been pretty good at it, at least I think.
Dislikes: Spiders, they are a definite no. I am also not a huge fan of large crowds, which is another reason why I love the serene quiet of being on the farm.
Talents/Hobbies: Well art I guess is one of them, I also love to horseback ride, and if I could turn knowing loads of fun movie facts into a full time career, I would.
Bio:
So, I am from Whites, as I said before, born and raised. I come from a long line of farmers. Every generation of my family has been farmers, even back before the Eugenics war. We deal with all kinds of vegetation as well as a few varieties of fruits. Every summer my parents hold a mini strawberry festival on our farm for the town, and it's always a great time. We also have dairy cattle, pigs, chickens, and we board horses as well.
I am an only child, my parents were not able to have any more children after they had me due to complications with my birth, unless you count my parents dog Zipper. He’s a long haired german shepherd, five years old, I believe he counts, he’s family. I have one living grandparent which is my Granny on my mother’s side, and we are very close.
I graduated high school a year early with honors and scholarships, but I never went to college. I decided to stay home and help my family on the farm. Sometimes I do regret that decision, though I know it was the right thing to do.
Any spare time that I have is spent usually on a horse, riding through the many acres of land my parents own, looking for a good place to plant myself for the day and sketch or paint. Most times accompanied by Zipper. After graduation most of my classmates left our small little town for bigger and better, so it's usually just the two of us. The only person I keep in contact with is Owen Dent. He lived on the farm across from me so we practically grew up together.
Aside from that I am a very average person. I don't play any sports, I am far too clumsy for that, and two left feet will get you nowhere in the world of ballroom dancing… I sure learned that the hard way. And so, I lead a pretty simple life.
As for my reasoning for entering the selection, that has a lot to do with my sweet little granny. She has always been my biggest supporter in everything I do, and if it wasn’t for her I would not be sending in this application. For as long as I can remember I have watched my parents fall in love over and over again, every single day. It's like every time they look into each others eyes their love gets even stronger. I remember telling my granny that one day I wanted a love like that, and out here in this little town, I haven’t found it and I don't think I ever will. When my granny told me about the Prince’s selection she said this could be my shot at love, my chance to find the man I have been searching for, and I do hope that she's right. If I can find a love that’s half as true as my parents, I will be a lucky man.
Fun Facts:
One thing that a lot of people don't really know about me is that i love to build things, and I mean things like old 3D puzzles, or models of cars or historic buildings. If you give me a box of tiny pieces and an instruction book with a thousand pages, I would be a very happy person.
And another secret pleasure of mine is sappy romance novels, especially ones that are a crossover with the crime genre or sci fi.
