Guess who’s back to making a funky little ppt to convince you all to watch this show I’ve been obsessed with ever since it finished airing in 2020? 

Ok but honestly is the line 'There was this sadness in his eyes, the kind you sometimes see in those who want to die, but life won't let them' from Dark not actually from like, a poem or something? Because it sounds like it's from a poem or something

As you've probably heard, "1899" has been cancelled on Jan 2nd, 2023.

It's tragic, but there is a chance something can be done about it.

Bo&Jantje put their souls to this project, and so did all of the cast and crew. It's a shame that Netflix have chosen to cancel it, not seeing the show what it is, a wonderful mind-twisting cinematographic masterpiece with a strong scenario.

Let's support their work. They deserve better. Every member of the cast and crew deserve better. And we, as the fans, deserve to get some answers, to enjoy another season or two of this amazing TV series.

1888 is the FUNNIEST Dark era for me.

First up, you've got Jonas appearing out of nowhere, middle-aged, after being missing for half a year, and he's all like 'leave your damn families, *I'm* gonna save you xx', before plonking them all off in said 1888, which I can only imagine going down with a 'Where are we, Jonas?' '.... fuuuuuuck....'

Then the previously discussed 'how do you do, fellow kids?' energy because he is *50 years old* and they are *not*, paired with the fact that he is likely awkward as FUCK since they don't have much to talk about anymore (and this man is socially deprived, he only gets to chat to someone about the loop every once in a while).

And the building resentment. Oooooooooo do we like some yummy tension within the group, because they can't really trust him, he feels he's failed them but is still determined to save them whist STILL resisting Adam-ification. Juicy, I tell you.

Also what are they doing all day. Literally. Jonas I assume spends most of his time tweaking the machine but like? What else? What do the others do? It's so damn hilarious how bored and annoyed out of their minds they must be that they (at least Magnus) WISHED the apocalypse had nuked them too.

idk how much dark fandom talks about this or if the dark fandom even exists at this point, but I don't think we talk enough about how elisabeth literally raised her own mother-in-law.

i also think that noah's belief in paradise comes from what he was taught by his mother silja, which comes from what silja learned from elisabeth, and which comes at the same time from what noah shared with elisabeth.

I feel personally victimised.

One of the things Dark was really good at was getting me to care about the characters’ relationships with each other, that I signed up for a weird time travel mysteries-of-the-universe kind of show and the plot part is magnificently charted out, but it’s really the icing on the cake, where the cake is the reason these people all care about each other, why Jonas does everything he does, why Martha makes the choices she does, why Claudia does the things she does, why each of them has the goals and wants they do, why the characters are bringing their baggage to each and every scene and each and every relationship. The flow chart of how every character is entangled with every other character, how the different timelines mean you have to keep meticulous care on who knows what when, because a character might know something in 1905 but they’re 33 years old, but they don’t know that same thing in 1986 when they’re 18 years old, because they experience their own life linearly, but the timeline of the world in crazy loop-de-loops, and that’s all really well done! But at the heart of it, it’s a story about people driven to do things because they want to save other people.  Every single character, whether they do something good or horrific, does so because they want to save the people they love.  Every single character is driven by people, they want to save the person they're in love with, they want to save their son, they want to save their daughter, they want to save their brother, they want to save their mother, they want to save people. Dark is about love and loss and what you do with those feelings, how they drive you, draped in a cool time travel show cloak.

What did they have planned for the other two acts of 1899.

Where the hell was that extra kiss between the Stranger and Martha Andreas Pietschmann waxed poetics about but we never saw.
