Much was said about the parallels of 1.20 with 2.20, but let's better talk about how Kate shows anger and we know it is because Lucy got hurt and not for any other reason, the case worries her, yes, but Lucy her priority, it is Lucy who could have gotten badly hurt or worse, in 1.20 Lucy yells at Kate and masks it with her jeopardizing the case, when we all knew that her annoyance was because Kate could have died in that situation.

And let's talk about "not mad, just frustrated" because it's clear she's angry and feels like yelling at her, but we also know her concern for Lucy's safety is more

"I don't care about the anniversary thing."

I'd like to know if Lucy really thought that's what Kate was worried about or was just trying to deflect attention from what just happened 🤔. Because even to Jane, who was probably watching them from her office, it's obvious that what Kate is worried about is that Lucy was acting trusting Joe fully aware that things could go wrong

The fact that she defends her point in front of Kate so decisively, the way she knows Joe was manipulated and doesn't back down even when it seems like she should, that speaks to how Lucy knows what she is doing is the right thing to do. By meeting Joe she realized that her suspicions of him being the victim were real, he was manipulated and her instincts were screaming at her to get justice for him.

"I'm scared that he might do something that he can't come back from."

And she says that because she's sure he's not guilty, that what he did was to protect himself, oh I'm loving watching Lucy become the agent she's becoming 🤗

And suddenly it seems that neither of them are upset, or frustrated or have anything else to say, I love the way Jane was probably waiting for the right moment to come in, I imagine her quietly waiting for either of them to raise their voices a little more to interrupt and stop an argument

One detail I can't get past is the way Lucy turns to look at Kate before leaving the room, she knows Kate doesn't want her to go, she knows she distrusts Joe and is upset and worried about her, but she also knows she needs to do the right thing by protecting Joe and saving him from being blamed or doing something he won't be able to come back from, and Kate's expression is...gold

"Take Whistler with you."

Because she has nothing to do with the case, but Jane simply doesn't want her in the office anymore 👀😂.

I KNOW there was an argument in the parking lot when getting in the car over who was going to drive, because Kate didn't want to let Lucy do it, but Lucy just had to do things her way, regardless, we love seeing them out in the field together 🤭

I can't be the only one who yelled at the screen when Lucy made sure Kate didn't see her before she entered the boat, because she knew she shouldn't do it by herself but she also knew she had to do it alone

"I turn my head for a minute!"

And that was exactly the reason why she shouldn't go in alone, because it was sure there would be danger, it was more than obvious that something like that would happen, and I want to think that Lucy knew Kate would be there in time, but something in the " thanks" she says, tells me that she was actually surprised and grateful that Kate had been quick enough

I'm repeating myself too much, but I just can't express how much I loved watching her handle the case and deal with Joe the way she did, she was respectful and honest with him, everything she did was to prove that he had been manipulated and that he was the victim of the situation simply because she knew he was, she knew that defending him was the right thing to do, it speaks to her as a person, her heart and her as an agent and her instinct that we have watched grow throughout these two seasons, I'm so proud of my little Lucy 💖

"You doing all right?"

Notice the way Kate looks at Lucy when she asks if she's okay, she knows that what Lucy is trying to do is deflect attention, but she knows her too well

"Maybe you even saved his life, I'm proud of you."

I'm going to take this two ways, because I want you to notice the way Lucy shakes her head when Kate tells her she's proud. First Kate says this in a way of agreeing with her and apologizing for not trusting Lucy's instinct, for reprimanding her for what she did that even though it was wrong, Lucy did it because she knew it had to be done and second, because she knows that Lucy needs someone to tell her, she needs someone to reassure her that she did everything she could, the comment she makes asking why she feels so bad if it was the right thing to do, she needs to know, for others to know, even reassure herself, that she did everything in her power to save the innocent person's life.

And how she finally breathes and lets herself be comforted, we know it's hard for Lucy to accept when something hurts her, luckily Kate knows her well enough to not need words, just hugging her, letting her know it's okay, that she's going to be okay.

Kacy - 207 - Vanishing Act

Hellooo. First post. Bit nervous. My thoughts on Kacy in the recent episode. I initially posted this on Twitter and am not finished with making gifs yet, so this is pretty much mostly an all words post.

I really enjoyed the episode overall. I was very bummed that Lucy will be gone for 4 months and Kacy will be apart. They are in a good place and the timing really sucks and I'm still very much in my feels about the beach scene, especially near the end. Honestly, I wasn't very tuned in to the plot because my focus and attention was on how Lucy and Kate were feeling. How Lucy was struggling about not wanting to be apart from Kate because she really just wants to 'sit on a hill' with her and not go on any adventures, but at the same time it's also a great opportunity for her career.

I understand and can see why some people say it doesn't make sense. Lucy's - 'feet, water, death' - literally going into the middle of the dark abyss for 4 months for a position she applied for and was rejected when her and Kate were broken up - I know there are feelings about that as well because old wounds were brought back, plus the indications of Lucy's action. Lucy reacted and from personal experience, reactions lack a thought process. While it makes no sense that Lucy would apply for a position that keeps her on a ship for x amount of months, it also makes sense at the same time because when you’re hurting, decisions can be irrational. She was running away from her feelings and I guess a ship made sense at the time. Makes me think maybe that's also why she chose to come to Hawaii - maybe to get as far away from her family as possible?

Kate. Her feelings when she found out why Lucy applied for the position definitely brought up old wounds, even more so because Kate had no idea and the reason she applied was because of Kate. I hear you - the people who are saying Kate sacrificed her career to stay close to Lucy - choosing Lucy over her career - and now Lucy's choosing her career over Kate and is off to take a position that's going to benefit her career? Back in season one, they were broken up and Kate made that decision on her own because that is what she wanted. The job in DC, compared to the position on the ship, is permanent. The situations, contexts and emotions involved are very different. Lucy will be back and they'll be together in the same place again. It just really sucks being long distance. We have seen that their relationship has grown and how they’re able to talk to one another later on at the beach shows that.

The beach scene. I'm happy that they were able to talk openly, honestly and showed vulnerability. Lucy saying (and essentially calling herself out), "it's hard for me believing that because I don't know if you've noticed, I have trust issues" and Kate knowing that after she tells Lucy "I'm not going anywhere" is, I have to admit, not what I expected. I love that though - they're able to talk to each other like that and this is a decision made by both of them. Kate here, is definitely the best girlfriend for supporting Lucy and having her best interest at heart even though it hurts that they’ll be apart for four months very soon. The reassurances she gives her. Definitely the best.

I’ll miss Lucy and Kacy scenes, but I’m very much looking forward to Kate working with Kai in the next episode. Maybe they’ll have some chagaccinos while working on AJ’s case since Kai seemed to have liked it? 😆

day 07. arcade

"I have a weird favor to ask," Kai's voice fills the nearly empty bullpen, taking Lucy by surprise.

Lucy looks up from her paperwork and squints her eyes at him, "What?"

"Well, I installed that app you told me about," That perks Lucy's interest. "Kinda, uh, matched with someone," The way he says it makes it sound like a question. "And he wants to go out."

"That's great, Kai!" Kai blushes a bit and Lucy thinks it's endearing.

"Great," Kai says, not sounding even a little bit like it's actually great.

"Mm, why are we not excited?"

"What if he is a psycho, Luce? I heard about a case where a guy lured people with these apps just to kill them."

That throws Lucy off for two whole seconds, "Aren't you a federal agent or something?"

"I'm not gonna take my gun on a date."

"Use your fists!"

"Lucy."

"Ok, fine. What do you need? Background check?"

"What? No, I've done that already." Kai says waving her off.

"And is he clean?"

"Yes, but so are a lot of criminals at first sight."

"Fair."

"Come to the date with me tomorrow." Lucy dissolves into laughter. Kai stares at her and it takes her a minute to realize he isn't joking.

"I'm sorry. What?"

"Not like, come to the date with me, just, you know, be in the same area as I'm in?" Kai offers. "That way, psycho or not, if I need an out I have one."

It's not like Lucy hasn't done this before. She was a federal agent and the first person her friends called when they needed someone in the lookout. The thing is: she also has a date tomorrow with a very pleasant girl she met on the very same app she recommended to Kai.

There's no way she is going to say no to Kai, though. Especially when he is giving her a very effective puppy dog eyes.

"Ok, yeah. I'll go with you."

Kai gives her the biggest smile she has ever seen on his face, "Thank you, Luce. I owe you one."

"It's what I'm here for." She pats him in the arm.

"And don't worry, I'll text you if everything turns out fine. I promise not to keep you for long."

"Don't worry about it," She says, "Now, where is this date?" +++

Lucy cannot believe that Kai Holman is having a first date in an arcade. The ex-marine, current NCIS Special Agent, who could take down a criminal with one hand tied around his back, asked for a chaperone for an arcade date. Lucy wants to laugh and cry at the same time.

"Ok, I think I see him," Kai says, looking at a spot to their right. "I'm gonna go. I'll text you!"

Just like that, she is alone at the entrance.

Deciding to make the most of her time in this admittedly super cool arcade, Lucy moves towards the little corner booth to get some coins.

She stays out of sight, but keeps an eye on Kai for the first half an hour, making sure everything is actually going smoothly.

The other man is tall and muscular, something about him gives Lucy navy, army vibes. Maybe it's the way he holds himself, maybe it's the freshly cut short blond hair. He has a very pleasant smile and Kai seems to be having a good time.

Lucy stops in front of the Mortal Kombat machine with every intention to play, but her eyes keep flickering to Kai and his date and they look so cute together. Lucy might be swooning a little bit.

"Are you gonna play or just stare creepingly at other people?" A voice comes up from behind Lucy, startling her and making her drop one of the coins she was holding onto.

Lucy turns and whatever response she had planned gets caught in her throat as she looks at the owner of the voice. She is not sure how someone can look this good in such unflattering light, but Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the camel.

The woman is tall and blonde and the clenching of her jaw lets Lucy know that the wrong answer might get Lucy killed. I mean, with looks like that, if she asked nicely Lucy might as well let her do it.

"W-what?" "Are you gonna use that," She points to the Mortal Kombat machine. “Or are you here to stare and judge other people?"

The bite on the woman's voice activates Lucy's defense mechanism, “I am not judging anybody.” Who does this woman think she is approaching a stranger out of not where just to be rude, "If you've got a problem, just move.”

“Do I have a problem?” She shoots back, crossing her arms.

“The fuck is that supposed to mean?”

"You've been staring at that couple since I first noticed you. So, do I have a problem?”

Oh. Oh. Wait.

Lucy lets out a stunned laugh. She’s been accused of a lot of things in her life, but homophobia was a first.

“I am a lesbian,” Lucy states and the woman’s mouth hangs open in a funny O shape. “I’m just making sure the idiot in blue didn’t get himself a date with a serial killer”

"Oh." The blonde at least has the decency to look a bit embarrassed. She relaxes a bit and Lucy, annoyingly, finds herself missing the clenched jaw.

“Sorry, I just—, I though–,”

“It’s ok. I respect where you’re coming from,” Lucy chuckles, “Probably would’ve done the same if I was in your place.”

“You did look very judgemental.”

"I was profiling Pink." That earns Lucy another smile, a little bigger one this time. Lucy wants to keep them coming.

“Noah,” The woman says. “Pink’s name is Noah. He is not a serial killer, just a dumbass.”

“Brother, I’m assuming.”

The woman nods, “Begged me to come play with him and dropped me the second we arrived.”

“Chaperones duties are dull.”

The blonde frowns, “Funny, Noah didn’t mention anything about a date, just said he wanted an after work distraction. I wonder why.”

Lucy gasps dramatically, “Maybe you are the homophobic one” – yes, she is fishing, mind your own business.

“Ha! Does self hatred count?” Not the response Lucy was expecting but, at the same time, the exact response she was hoping for.

“Wow!”

“Sorry, my sense of humor is… dark.”

“No, no. I feel you and I’m very glad to know we play on the same team.” The woman’s cheeks assume a faint shade of pink. Lucy wants to make it go pinkier. “So tell me, Pink’s sister,”

“Kate.”

“So tell me Kate, are you any good in Mortal Kombat?”

Kate shrugs, “Noah once almost broke our console because he couldn’t handle losing anymore.”

“Mm, impressive.” Lucy’s eyes roam the woman’s body when she says it and the pink on Kate’s cheek increases. Lucy smirks to herself.

“Are you up for a challenge?”

“Depends,” Kate takes a step forward, reducing the distance between them. “Are you gonna tell me your name?”

“Lucy.”

“Well, Lucy, what’s in it for me?” Lucy doesn’t answer her, just bites her lower lip and turns around putting a coin in the machine.

“How was your night?” Kai asks her the second she walks into the bullpen. He has a shiteating grin on his face and what the fuck does he know.

"Good," She says. "Uneventful," She lies.

"Uneventful, uh?"

"Yup," Lucy sits on her chair and turns on her computer. “How was your night? How’s Noah?” Kai’s shiteating grin grows larger. It takes a minute for Lucy to realize he’s never told her his name. Shit.

“So, did you have a good night or not?” Lucy asks. Maybe she could gaslight Kai into believing that he did mention Noah’s name before. Thinking about it, it is rather odd that Kai didn’t mention his date’s name to her. When you are worried you are going on a date with a possible serial killer you disclose as much information as possible.

Well, she also didn’t ask, so that’s on her.

“I did.”

“That’s all I get? I chaperone you and you repay me with an ‘I did’?” Kai rolls his eyes.

“Noah is great. We had an amazing time and I really like him. Is that good enough for you?” Kai tries to seem tough, but there's something unmistakably soft in the way he talks about Noah. She can see him melting and it’s the cutest thing.

“See! Aren’t you glad I convinced you to download that app?”

“Eh.”

“Eh?” Lucy asks, a bit offended.

Kai shrugs, “Didn’t meet him in the app.”

Lucy is sure she misheard it, because she has a very clear memory of Kai saying they met on the app and that is precisely why Lucy needed to go with him to the date.

“I’m sorry, what?”

“Met him a couple of weeks ago. He accidently dropped my coffee and begged me to let him buy me another one. We started talking and…”

“You met him weeks ago?” Lucy feels like she is going crazy because none of this makes sense but Kai is acting like it does.

“I did.”

“Yesterday wasn’t your first date?”

“Nope.”

Noah didn’t mention anything about a date, just said he wanted an after work distraction. I wonder why.

Oh, he did not. “Kai, what did you do?”

“I don’t know what you are talking about.”

“Imma give you two second or Mr. Watson is going to be wiping your blood off the floor tonight.”

“You see, Noah has this sister..."

Lucy punches him in the stomach, “You fucking set me up!”

“I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” Lucy is going to jump on Kai’s throat. "When Noah started talking about her, how she just moved to the island and didn't have any friends here... I thought you two would get along and so did he."

"And you couldn't have introduced us like normal people?"

"You would've never agrees on a blind date and you know it."

"Did she know?"

“Of course not, she would’ve agreed either.” That makes Lucy feel a tiny bit better, at least she was being played with by every part of this game.

“You are a fucking asshole. Both of you.”

“I know, but like, we didn’t even know if it was going to work out. I mean, you’ve seen how big that place is.” Kai tries to explain. "You two actually bumping into each other was a long shot."

He might have a point, but Lucy still glares at him.

“And c’mon, don’t act like you didn’t have a good time. You thought you were watching me, but I was watching you too.”

Lucy bites her cheeks. Kate was charming and smart and funny and so, so, so beautiful. They kept the conversation light and flirty, so when Kate asked her if she wanted to grab something to eat they ended up in Kate's apartment with Lucy on her knees and Kate screaming out her name. It was a great night.

Kai’s laughter brings her back to the present, “Oh, you are so into her.”

Lucy doesn’t have time to come up with a smart retort, because Tennant walks into the bullpen flanked by– oh shit.

“Guys, this is Special Agent Kate Whistler, FBI and Officer Noah Whistler, DIA. They are going to be our new liaisons.”

Lucy’s jaw is on the floor and she is pretty sure her face is burning. Thankfully, Tennant is too preoccupied with her phone to pay much attention to them.

“I have a meeting, but you all should get acquainted,” She says, eyes still glued to her phone. “You’ll be seeing each other quite often,” Then before she leaves, she lifts her head and looks straight at Lucy with a smirk on her lips. How in the world does she do that? She wasn’t even paying attention!

“Nice to finally meet you, Lucy. Heard a lot about you,” Noah says once they are alone. “From Kai, not Kate. She didn’t tell me anything.”

Kate’s eyebrows almost reach her hairline. Her mouth is opening and closing and she looks so confused. Oh poor thing, she still doesn’t know.

“They set us up.” Lucy says, taking pity on her. She can pinpoint the exact moment her words register and Kate looks almost as pink as Noah’s shirt last night. It brings back memories Lucy shouldn’t be thinking about at her work place.

Kate then punches Noah in the gut. The man bends forward with the impact.

“Jesus, I got you laid and this is how you repay me?”

It’s Lucy’s turn to get pinkier than Noah’s shirt. Kai chuckles beside her.

“Get lost,” Kate says. Noah pouts but does what he is told. He takes Kai with him.

After the men leave their line of sigh, Lucy turns to look at Kate.

“Hi.”

Lucy chuckles, “God, I can’t believe we got played.”

“So much for federal agents.”

“I should’ve known Kai would never in a million years ask me to chaperone him on a date without an ulterior motive.”

“Yeah, he is like, twice your size.”

“Hey! I can take down taller opponents, alright? And armed opponents and multiple opponents..."

"Well, now you're just trying to turn me on," Lucy chokes on her own saliva.

“Special Agents Kate Whistler.”

“Sorry, I didn’t–”

“No, uh uh, you can’t take it back,” Lucy says, taking a step forward. She holds the other woman’s gaze, “But maybe just save it to the bedroom.”

Kate gives her a little surprised chuckle.

It complicates things, working together. It makes Lucy feel a bit too jittery, but if Kai and Noah can manage maybe so can they. Lucy sure as hell liked Kate enough to at least try.

“Are you free tonight?” Lucy asks at the very same time Kate says “Do you have plans tonight?”

They both laugh at each other’s eagerness.

“I guess now I do,” Lucy says with an easy smile.

“Good. I want to take you somewhere.”

“Mysterious. Are you going to kill me?”

“I don’t know,” Kate says, a smile beginning to form on her lips. “Maybe you should ask Kai to be your chaperone.”

“Ha ha, you’re so funny.” But when Kate’s laughter bubbles out her mouth, Lucy can’t help but laugh along.

She is going to give Kai hell for lying to her and for set her up, but fuck, she is so glad he did.

Okay, I love Chase, I love that she doesn't let herself be intimidated and is herself at all times no matter what, she is firm to who she is and what she believes in, so I know in my heart that she knew it was Kate who was with Lucy, not only because Kate is probably not there very often and it's a new vibe in her space, but because of the pure and warm energy that Kate has

Because Lucy asks if she felt her strength or stern authority, and Chase's answer is that she actually felt sincerity, and if Chase is as good as I know she is, it speaks to how Kate always acts following her heart, doing what she knows is the right thing 🥺

Lucy is one of the most genuine characters I know, she is distracted, when she concentrates she can't talk/listen to another subject, she has phobias, she is stubborn and afraid to show her feelings but at the same time she has the heart of a child and is very sentimental, so seeing this kind of scenes where she is real, not wanting to see her friend get a wound stitched up, showing displeasure in her own way, makes me very happy, especially the way Kate reacts to this, she is just so happy to see how silly her girlfriend is

And the best scene in the whole series finally came, I find it very funny how Kate was so sure she had let that go and as soon as Lucy mentions it she immediately panics.

Kate's face of disappointment and surprise when Kai said "CPA" with full confidence in his response 😅

This one just because I love watching them mess around with each other, and Kate and Lucy standing next to each other is always cute ❤

How cute she looks so nervous to say it in front of everyone and goes over to tell Lucy first, as if to make sure it wasn't anything ridiculous and that she was going to be able to say it in front of the others, plus Lucy's totally excited response wanting her to already tell them 🥺🥰

"Miss America!"

Everyone's reaction and Jane saying Kate would have made a great Miss America just so Kate could feel more comfortable after noticing her nervous, and the way she can joke once Jane makes the comment, they are a family and every time they are welcoming her in a better way and making her feel part of them, I love them 💗

And of course you didn't think I was going to leave out the best thing about the episode, knowing that they are there for each other, knowing that they can joke and play with each other, it's really what's worth it, it's not just a job, it's family ✨

I'm so happy we finally had new episodes and got to see all our Ohana together, I missed Lucy so much and seeing her with the boys and Kate, I don't know what I'll do when the season ends :(
