Poe no Ichizoku references
I recently came across two Poe no Ichizoku references while reading manga, and they put a smile on my face.
The first one is from Riyoko Ikeda's epic drama, Orpheus no Mado's (1975) first volume. Alexei Mihailov knows his shoujo manga. It was so nice to see such an early reference!
And the second was from Nakamura Asumiko's Tonari no Vampire (2009). This guy's name is a reference to our cute vampire bois, and French actor Alain Delon. Both "Allan" and "Alain" are spelled as "アラン" in Japanese, but of course, I was big-brained to use the first spelling here. One could argue that she did this as a direct reference to Edgar Allan Poe, but come on, this dude is a vampire. This combination can only point us to Poe Clan.
