Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: 原神 | Genshin Impact (Video Game) Rating: General Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Kamisato Ayaka/Yoimiya Characters: Kamisato Ayaka, Yoimiya (Genshin Impact), Mentioned Kamisato Ayato - Character Additional Tags: Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Yoimiya Has a Prosthetic Leg (Genshin Impact), Kamisato Ayaka-centric, First Meetings, Alcohol, Dancing, Getting Together, Fluff, Teasing, the prosthetic leg isn't a huge part of the fic i just love that it's a tag Summary:
The Kamisato siblings were walking through Inazuma City on one of their extremely rare off days and were close enough to Naganohara Fireworks to both hear and see an explosion as they were walking by. It startled Ayaka bad enough that she clung to her brother as the force of the explosion blew the door outwards, and Ayato stepped protectively in front of her, as he always did.
A girl around Ayaka’s age stumbled out of the building, coughing up a storm. The only person that could logically be is Naganohara Yoimiya.

10/11/21 - Genshin challenge 06/44 YOIII 💜💜 My favorite genshin girl!! I love every event and quest she’s on 🥰🥰 She’s just so happy and positive about everything, it’s a delight to see 🫶🫶. I’m 100% redrawing her sometime this year as I don’t think this art made her justice (anatomy and perspective 💀💀💀 they keep me awake at night I swear), but I like the fireworks and colors 🎇🎇 Her character design is one of my favorites in the game no doubt. There are a just a lot of cool things about her!! She speaks in Osaka/Kansai dialect (I think the easiest part to notice is the way she says “n’ya” and “yaa”!), it’s so pretty and upbeat! I could hear her talk all day. Plus everything about her screams Summer Festival (Natsu Matsuri)! The sarashi (wrapped white cloth), commonly used with festival Happi, geta (wood sandals), the goldfish (there’s a game where you scoop them!), fireworks (some people go to the festivals mainly to see them! There were even annual battles between 2 famous fireworks crafters, Tamaya clan and Kagiya, very very long ago), the Temari on her hair may reference YoYo Tsuri (a bouncing water ball, another common game/toy) or wind chimes, and her bag resembles a goldfish bag too! Those are the references I remember rn🎐🎐. One day I’ll make a tumblr post dissecting her entire design, and me writing this here is to make me remember that 😌😌 (probably?)

Summary: Spring gave way to summer, and though their hands joined with ease, Sara still floundered. There was no easy way to speak directly from the heart.
Or, Sara goes to Yoimiya for advice and spends a week trying to ask Yae on a date.

some selfship angst while fighting the meds: scara and i always wanted a cat but our lives are too unsuitable for a mascot, so when he plans to steal the gnosis and run away, while he's in inazuma and i don't know, he forces the cat distribution system onto me and i end up with a cat
this comes in handy when he erases himself later because I'm not alone, i have the cat i named after him..........

@momdstadt caught a falling star:
"Yoimiya, i'm onto you. You can't keep your secret forever." ( from Heizou for Yoimiya )
Laughing off the detective's words nervously, Yoimiya deflected the confrontation and smiled, eyes sparkling like the very fireworks she worked with. She offered a firework to Heizou with a beam.

Ship Wars - Yoimiya x Kamaru 3/3: Burning Up
Summer. The sun beating down from above, not a cloud in the sky. The buzzing of cicadas a seasonal song, accompanied by the laughter of children playing in the streets. Inazuma City, full of life, painted a vibrant picture of summer. Yoimiya loved summer. The bonfire in Hanamizaka the prior night would have been perfect if not for one thing...
Summer, on the other hand, was not being as kind to Kamaru. Despite the heat, despite the sweat beading on his forehead, he found himself shivering. Sitting on the engawa just outside his room in direct sunlight, he watched the dragonflies in the garden. His throat hurt, he could hardly breathe out of his nose, and the sneezing would not stop. He did not move when he heard footsteps in the yard, assuming them to be his father’s.
That was, until Yoimiya came into view.
“Maru-chan! You missed the bonfire! It was fun but... it would have been more fun with you,” her cheery tone matched the wide smile she wore, standing in front of him with her hands behind her back.
“Sorry, Yoimiya. I got a bit sick,” he explained, though it was hardly necessary. If he had simply said hello, the hoarseness and congestion in his voice would have certainly said the rest.
“I know. Who even catches a cold in the summer? But, since we didn’t get to enjoy the bonfire together...” she teased, only now showing him what she held. “I wanted to bring the bonfire to you!”
Sparklers in one hand and a bag of snacks in the other, Yoimiya spun around excitedly. Before Kamaru had a chance to say anything, the door behind him slid open. Carrying a stack of wood, his father walked into the yard and started making a small pile.
“Are you sure, Yoimiya? You might catch it from me if you stay here long,” Kamaru pointed out, watching his father step back with a tired smile.
“Come on, Maru-chan. I’m tough, I’ll be okay! I want to make you feel better! Summer will be over soon, we have to make the most of it!”
“You can’t win this one, Kamaru. The season is ending soon,” his father seemed to be supporting Yoimiya, smiling tiredly. “She insisted on taking care of you herself. You simply have to be willing to return the favor.”
“No use in fighting it then,” he laughed, Yoimiya starting the bonfire with her vision before coming to sit beside him, holding his hand. “Thank you, Yoimiya. Truly.”
He had wanted to go the bonfire with her. Summer was not his favorite season, though he never disliked it. But the more he saw how much Yoimiya enjoyed the summer, the more he grew to love it. The smile on her face at festivals, her excitement when she shared a new idea for fireworks with him, her laughter when they splashed around in the river during the worst heatwaves. Even when sprawled on her back, trying to battle the heat with a flimsy fan, Yoimiya’s smile persisted.
Together, they sat at the fire, enjoying it for a while, before Yoimiya decided Kamaru needed a real meal to help him recover. With his father’s blessing, Naganohara Yoimiya was unleashed into the Hanada’s kitchen. She came back later with a shockingly red dish. Handing a bowl to Kamaru and his father, she stood proudly as she waited for them to take a bite.
And they did.
It took a moment before both of them began sweating profusely, Kamaru constantly sniffling and fanning at his face. His father choked back a cough, his eyes widening slightly.
“Is it not good?” she seemed a bit embarrassed, shifting her weight as she glanced toward Kamaru.
“Spicy,” he croaked. “Delicious, but spicy. Incredibly so.”
“I read somewhere that spicy things help clear your sinuses, but maybe I went overboard?” Yoimiya’s cheeks darkened, “You don’t need to finish it.”
“No, no. We will,” his father insisted. “We are very lucky to have someone who loves him enough to cook a meal with his health in mind.”
HIs father’s words caused her blush to deepen further. Both he and Kamaru finished the meal she gave them, though between the fever, the summer heat, and the spice, Kamaru felt disgusting. Politely excusing himself to take a bath, Yoimiya was left alone with his father.
“I have to tend to a few patients before bed, but it is getting late. We have a spare futon you are welcome to use. Does your father know you’re here?” Izuki asked, tying back his sleeves and dusting himself off.
“Mhm, he helped me pick out what snacks I wanted to bring.”
Nodding in approval, Kamaru’s father kept her company for a little while, though he kept the conversation largely focused on anything but himself. He disappeared shortly before Kamaru returned. Though when Kamaru did return, his hair no longer tied back, Yoimiya grinned. It was so fluffy! Cute.
They talked until well past sunset, holding hands and counting stars. Yoimiya slept well that night, waking up in the morning to Kamaru’s father having made breakfast for everyone. It didn’t take long for Kamaru to recover, but just as his father predicted, a few days after he was feeling better...it was time to return the favor.
