“Zara’s Saber” a commission for hork-bajir4ever on FA! Lots of fun with this, including designing the lightsaber to fit with a Hork-Bajir character. Wood surrounding the main parts where all the electronics and tech go, visible Kyber chamber, claw shaped emitter shroud and butt to allude to the blades that Hork-Bajir have, etc. The wood is probably from a personally significant tree to hork-bajir4ever’s Zara.

It’s Zara again! another commission for hork-bajir4ever from FA!

This time of Zara in his home jungle, swinging through the trees. Is that bow for self-defense, or for Yeerk hunting? Who knows! It was fun to design. The bow is probably made from a favorite tree, the quiver made from bark, with a handwoven webbing and an animal tusk closure. The marks are probably scratches unique to Zara (not language, but another Hork Bajir from his tribe would recognize it as his). The webbing holding it in place is based on a real handwoven guitar strap I found while researching handwoven items. Do Hork Bajir do their own weaving, do you wonder? Trim claws, nimble fingers, and plant fibers to make string, maybe a Seer?

Spooktober #8 Mushroom: The Fungus Zombie

Typically found in caves, the fungus zombie occurs when someone dies in the vicinity of fungal matter which takes over the body, flesh and bone, and animates it with some strange parody of life. Even as the body rots away, the fungus, moss, and mushrooms fill in the gaps. Animated with unknown power, the shambling creature is nonetheless jarringly strong, and must be burned in order to stop it. No weapon, enchanted or otherwise will fell a fungus zombie for long.
