The wonderful comments and messages I got in response to my request. Many thanks to all of you! I’m not sure what I was expecting, but I wasn’t fishing for compliments. You’re all so kind. I hate to break it to you, @mydododied, but I don’t have a hamster. 😉  There is a certain amount of speculation about my gender, and I’ve purposely kept that secret because it can change people’s perception so much. I’ve always wanted the pictures and the things that are in the pictures to speak for themselves, and not have them seen through a prism of my irrelevant identity facts. However, I may as well tell you I’m female, not the most feminine or great lookin’, but there it is. The thing is, my love of nature started so early, it was before I even thought much about gender, so I feel like I have a human relationship with nature and not a female one or a male one.  I told myself a long time ago that I would reveal one fact about myself if I ever hit 50,000 followers. Now I have. I hope it doesn’t make anyone like my blog or my pictures less. Lots of love to everyone who sees this! 💙🌿✨🍁❤️🦄🧙‍♀️

As I’m looking through my photos from Wales, I’m realizing two things: I’ve fallen in love with the place, and I’m comparing them to other photos of Wales I’ve seen. Photos that inspired me to visit this wonderful country in the first place.
I’ve already mentioned how lucky I was to meet Mark @mhplanet. I was also inspired by Petra Brown @mydododied @mydododark and Iain Robinson @thefierybiscuit. We weren’t able to catch up with Iain and Petra this trip, but maybe we’ll get lucky the next time we cross the pond.

Who are some of the photographers or artists you look up to either on tumblr or another platform?
Thank you for this great question, and sorry for answering so late. The day was busier than expected, but I was determined to get to this today.
Tumblr is my primary platform for photography, and when I first started out it was to capture images of birds during my bird watching walks. So some of my top favorite photography blogs are birding ones, specifically: @sunwendyrain, @greenandflex, @brooklynbridgebirds,  @glowworm6 and @digitalaviary.
When I wanted to branch out in my photography, @kkyamasita and @rosemonetphotos where a big inspiration for me to take pictures of the flowers in my mother’s (and soon my own too) garden. For landscape photography, a lot of inspiration came from @mydododied, @novice-at-play, @adm-kng, @millivedder, @justemoinue2, and @riverwindphotography. They all made me want to broaden my horizons and try something else with my photography. For more, I have an blogroll of original photographers I follow, (which I really need to update because I have followed more, oops.) over on twilightsolo.
I also need to mention @agirlnamednee, she is also a friend IRL and when I first met her it was during an area art tour where she showed her photography. It was fascinating black and white photos of graveyard statues done with a very old camera. Before I got my own DSLR, she took me out with her Nikon and let me practice my birding photography on a lovely cemetery walk.
Having friends that do such great photography and help me with my own is such a priceless gift. Another friend not on tumblr who takes photos of abandoned buildings sold me his old Canon DSLR with accessories for a steal so I could finally get started. I have a few other photographer friends who do such great work and have helped me learn without any professional photography classes.
Lastly, before I ever got into birding, I was a big cosplayer and I loved cosplay photography. It’s something I want to do more of myself, but for now I admire so many of the cosplayer photographers. Some are popular in cosplay circles, some are my friends. They kind of kept the idea of pursuing photography in the back of mind until finally becoming disabled. Unable to do cosplay and conventions to the same extent I had before made me pursue birding and photography as an alternative hobby. If I could remember the names of the popular ones I would, but names are the hardest thing for me to remember. I definitely don’t follow any mainstream popular photography, although I would like to take classes at some point.

Do you know of any similar blogs? I love yours by the way.
Thank you! I’m guessing you mean the landscape pictures? I tend to follow cat blogs, plant blogs and Good Omens blogs, but if you look at or follow @shepherds-dog, you might find some. I enjoy that one. There used to be one called @pagewoman that was gorgeous, but it looks like it’s deactivated. I also love @mydododied. Just amazing Welsh landscapes. And there’s another I can’t think of right now who doesn’t always post but when they do, the pictures are just right, so true and real, no pumping them up or overdoing it. Argh, it’s a favorite, but I can’t think of their name now. When I do, I’ll add it.https://rattystarlings.tumblr.com That’s the one! @rattystarlings.And for plants and some other mixed stuff, have a look at @kihaku-gato.
