AUs i look forward to see in every fandom i’m in:

Hades/Pershephone AU Honestly, any God!AUs are good, but this one keeps coming up for a reason and that’s because it’s just so good! I’ve seen it done in completely different ways, but even if the story itself doesn’t change much, it’s always enjoying to read.

Harry Potter AU A classic, can be done in many different ways, and you get to see your characters sorted into Houses (which can either agree with your opinions or NOT, in any case it’s still fun to see how the author approaches it).

Vampires AU I feel like I don’t need to explain this one, just vampireeeeees.

Superhero AU Also including Villain AU in this one. Peak enemies to lovers material, peak journalist x superhero material, peak secret identity material. Also cool to see what powers writers match with the characters.

Mafia/Mob AU Cliché? Maybe. But I love these stories so much. Often deliciously dark, they just entertain me so much.

Royalty AU Also an au that can be done in so many different ways. Things like arranged marriage, assassins, royal guards, sibling rivalry...they all are at their best here, obviously.

more niche but every time i catch one i struck gold:

50′s AU/Grease AU I just...have a weakness for aesthetic milkshakes, jukeboxes and teenage angst ok.... (no, haven’t watched r1verdale).

Very Specific Book AUs of Books You Rarely See Someone Use as an AU Basically all other books out there that aren’t like harry potter or the golden compass etc. this also works for movies and such (which aren’t like, star wars or pacific rim). in my experience these kinds of stories always has a lot of heart and care put into them, and are often very unique! (this is NOT to say that hp aus or golden compass aus etc. aren’t, of course, just that there are typically more of them [which i like, anyway so])
