he says i hate everyone except you and that is addictive and that is kind of romantic and beautiful because you're young and you're kind of a sarcastic asshole too and you don't like bad boys, per say, but you don't really like good ones either. and you like that you were the exception, it felt like winning.

except life is not a romance book, and he was kind of being honest. he doesn't learn to be nice to your friends. he only tolerates your family. you have to beg him to come with you to birthday parties, he complains the whole time. you want to go on a date but - people are often there, wherever you're going. he's just so angry. about everything, is the thing. in the romance book, doesn't he eventually soften? can't you teach him, through your own sense of whimsy and comfort?

at first - you know introverts often need smaller friend groups, and honestly, you're fine staying at home too. you like the small, tidy life you occupy. you're not going to punish him for his personality type.

except: he really does hate everyone but you. which means he doesn't get along with his therapist. which means he has no one to talk to except for you. which means you take care of him constantly, since he otherwise has no one. which means you sometimes have to apologize for him. which means he keeps you home from seeing your friends because he hates them. you're the single exception.

about a decade from this experience, you'll type into google: how to know if a relationship is codependent.

he wraps an arm around you. i hate everyone except you. these days, you're learning what he's actually confessing is i have very little practice being kind.

#i used to think it was romantic too and then i was like. now i see it as a HUGE red flag #writeblr #it is also almost EXCLUSIVELY said by immature ppl who think this is normal #fyi even if u think it's funny and ur like 'im an introvert it's just TRUE' like. you need therapy (ily tho)#healed introversion is just ''i would prefer to be by myself'' not ''i hate every person'' ... hate is not normal. that is not healthy #im sorry. i know it feels accurate. but if you're walking around with that kind of rage....#1. you're making a LOT of assumptions about every single person u have ever met. which is often unfair and unkind #and also usually involves judging people based on their worst moments or little mistakes #2. you are being unfair to the person who is ur ''exception''#3. there is a VAST difference between ''ur my favorite person'' and ''the ONLY person i like.''#idk i think this is just a personal bias thing tbh #im sure there are people who have this experience normally #but i have YET to find a man who thinks like this and ISNT absolute DOGSHIT. although tbh.... like. im sure he exists #when u hit like 30 some of the things that were once kind of hot now just sound fucking exhausting. like ''im in a band''#edit in the tags: i used to kind of be like this too. but the thing is that like. my life became so much more peaceful #once i started believing that people are generally good. like yes i am mad at the world at large #but it's just.... a very hard way to live. you're not a bad person or wrong for the ways other people hurt you and taught you to be angry.#but that anger will continue to hurt YOU. it will punish YOU. it will prevent YOU from making new deep connections. it will protect you yes #but it will also cause MASSIVE blowback. bc if you lose the One Person... your life will fall apart. i know this personally.#i really recommend just trying to be... cautiously optimistic instead. like. yes #people can be horrible and cruel and there are some communities (incels for example) that aren't worth that optimism #but i think like... most people will hold a door for you . most people want to help you find your wallet .#i hope one day you are able to find peace. i hope that rage eventually smooths over. i know how hard it is PERSONALLY #and i know what must have happened to you. and im deeply deeply sorry we share the same wound.#but i promise - sometimes we all need someone else to help us carry the weight. eventually the rage has to die so that we can let help in #i had to spend years biting at outstretched hands. i still often do. im still very wary . and my heart breaks that you flinch too.#here's the thing: i don't blame you. but we were both acting out of fear and pain. .... not out of healthy behavior. and ... change #was needed. i needed change too. rage was useful for a while. then it just left me isolated and bitter. i had to (with effort)#choose to let that rage go. and let people in . VERY SLOWLY THO LOL

This is definitely my favorite runner in book 6

#scott pilgrim #scott pilgrim's finest hour #ramona flowers #knives chau #envy adams #gideon graves #dumb stuff #book 4 is still my favorite in terms of comedy #but book 6 definitely has some gold moments from the expressions to this runner etc #4 and 6 are tied for my faves in the series. 4 i like for the character development and humor and ~roxie <3~#but 6 has the ending which is probably my favorite ending to any series i've ever read or watched. it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside #anyways i reread the entire series in one day because of the anime and my cringe teen hyperfixation phase reawakened like a sleeper agent #i'm riding it out at this point and waiting for it to settle down. or something new and shiny grabs my attention #whichever comes first

#day 356 #year 4 #dave strider #aradia megido #aradave #homestuck #she really saw this kid and was like OH YOU HAVE ISSUES WITH YOUR MORTALITY?? :D #boy do i have some relevant life experience and wisdom to impart on THAT ISSUE SPECIFICALLY #and then she just. very gently and kindly makes the subject more approachable for ghostdave #the pesterlog i linked is literally my FAVORITE aradia moment. to me it is THE character defining moment for god tier aradia #yes she is being kind of ominous and trickstery at first #but it VERY quickly becomes clear shes got genuine concern for this kid she's had very little to do with up until this point #she really wants to connect with him over their shared time aspect stuff #and she really DOES care about how he feels about everything. she wants to help and she wants to put him at ease #because she KNOWS from experience that being dead and having to cope with what that means for you is like VERY UPSETTING AND TRAUMATIC #shes not just like. 'hee hee i think death is great and awesome because im edgy'#shes like 'no dude being dead is scary if you dont have anybody to explain this shit to you. so im going to explain it-'#'-and hopefully by the end of this conversation you will have some new things to feel relief and maybe even joy and excitement about'#'not just in spite of the death thing but BECAUSE of it'#i know shes spooky and has weirdgirl swag and we all love that about her but like #at her core she is a very KIND person. she may occasionally struggle to connect to people through the Death Special Interest Haze #but she WANTS to and when she DOES she is like. a genuinely very warm and comforting presence for her friends #ANYWAY. if andrew hussie or i guess james roach now want to give me an honorary doctorate for my 12+ years of intensive aradia studies #i will be here waiting patiently

funniest and most heartwarming thing i rediscovered on my rewatch is when karin roasts sakura about poisoning naruto and then kakashi, who loves all of his kids very much and understands their behavior and isn’t upset with them about their choices but has also been under ABSURD amounts of stress for all of season 10, just bursts out laughing ❤️

#naruto #pan watches naruto #(again)#*#and in that moment karin became his new favorite #god i could say so much about the wind-down from the sasuke confrontation and how much i love it #kakashi's transition between the most horrific experience he's had in years #(where he thought he was going to have to kill one of his own kids)#and his return to the village (where's he's expected to take on the role of hokage at the outset of the fourth great ninja war)#is him walking six children home #one of whom he's carrying on his back #all of whom are laughing and bickering and teasing each other and acting like rowdy middle-schoolers #and there's such a feeling of peace to it #after being trapped in a situation that was so violently contrary to everything kakashi is and everything he wants #this whole experience of walking rambunctious kids home while they laugh and joke and screech at each other is so. life-affirming for him #and i don't choose that word casually:#kakashi tried to kill himself after that confrontation with sasuke.#i forgot about that until we rewatched it last week #'sakura - watch over my body'#he was going to sacrifice himself to take 'madara' out with kamui and stop the fourth war before it even started #but then it didn't work out that way (again) and he didn't die (again) and this whole extended denouement with the kids -#who are so alive; who are so silly; who make him laugh -#is SO significant because taking care of children is what saved him years ago and it's what resurrects him now #being forced to raise a hand against one of his own children almost killed him earlier #but now he's stumbling out the other side and the sun is shining and there's this other gaggle of children under his care #and they're laughing and playing with each other and it's like #it's not over. it's not over yet.#not for him. not for them.#and not for sasuke either.#they're all still alive and there's still hope!

Oh and this was such a small detail but kirk interrupting La’An and then apologizing for it just stood out to me because TOS Kirk did that all the fucking time and it drove me nuts. Such a good way to acknowledge the original character while also acknowledging they are purposely (necessarily) updating him.

These writers continue to impress me 👏👏

there is a sufficient evidence supporting that maddie and fenton are more often than not, good parents. like ive been going on a dp rewatch (although im skipping episodes im not too interested in) and even without the episodes focusing on relationships between their parents and kids (maternal instincts, one million dollar ghost, etc).

like theres little scenes like when jazz calls down the parents in my brother’s keeper maddie is very quick to go ‘is there something with danny? do you need to talk about something?’ theres jack going to bat for danny when he thought he was in danger in girls night out. they were overprotective about jazz in the episode 13. the entire episode reality trip for the reveal nerds. even like the episode with the strongest evidence that theyre neglectful (fright before christmas) maddie rushes out to get danny when the trees attack. hell even in the one episode where danny nearly got absolutely blasted/vivesevted by maddie in masters of all time he still got through to her that he’s her son even when he has the most flimsy evidence being a family photo. like she was remarkably easy to convince that danny was her alternate universe son she had with jack who she at the time believed wanted nothing to do with her. seriously if he can convince her that then I’m sure he can prove he’s half ghost to her with enough backing.
