I haven’t exactly been bearposting all summer or anything so you’re all a bit contextless, but I just looked up at the explore.org/bears stream that’s just kind of always on at my house, and I saw a bear at the far wall, in The Office, and I recognized him as 151 Walker based on a mannerism, and I said to myself, “Oh, cool, I haven’t seen 151 in a while, I feel like it’s been all 32 and 821 and 164 the last few days”, and I went to look at the comments, and one of the comments was a picture of this bear, 151 Walker, captioned “so handsome”, and while I’m not judging anyone’s taste in handsome bears, I recognize him by how he’s constantly flapping his tongue around licking his chops or something, just, such an incredibly goofy behavior that I would not have described as handsome.

So since the cameras went back on in June, I've had them playing on my other monitor. 747 was in his signature spot while I was doing warmups so I ended up drawing him.

I was tagged by @simplegenius042, thank you so much for tagging me in my favorite tag!!! 🥰 It was with Music Monday, but I split them up. Hope that's alright!
Completely unedited work, not ready to go at all.
Untitled John WIP.
John lies there, his body consumed by exhaustion, a testament to the passionate tempest they've submitted to. Every fiber of his being continues to reverberate with an unbelievably pure and intense level of euphoria, a pulsing flood of pleasure that dances beneath his skin.
Their eyes lock, pupils dilated, sharing an unspoken bond. In [redacted]'s gaze lies a universe of emotions, an intimate panorama of vulnerability and shared intensity. They see each other in the profoundest sense, souls laid bare in a silent exchange that renders words redundant.
In this fragile moment, John finds himself almost entirely devoid of the strength to move even a single muscle, a willing captive to the aftermath of their fervent union. The sensation is akin to being anchored in the exquisite stillness that follows a storm, where his limbs are heavy and unresponsive, every inch of his being bearing the weight of their shared ecstasy.
Not giving much away with John just yet. 😏
Tagging, with apologies for doubles and no pressure as always: @wrathfulrook, @socially-awkward-skeleton, @trench-rot, @ladyoriza, @cassietrn, @redreart, @inafieldofdaisies, @hotmessteaparty, @g0dspeeed, @v0idbuggy, @insanityofvaas, @malefiquinn, @strangefable, @noodlecupcakes, @neverthesameneveranother, @chazz-anova, @aristomal, @villageofshadow, @ocdemon-747, and whoever else wants to share something. 480 Otis (Fat) Standoff Against 164
flickr
480 Otis (Fat) Standoff Against 164 by Katmai National Park and Preserve Via Flickr: Taken September 24, 2023. NPS Photo/F. Jimenez These photos are available for park and press use with appropriate credit.
these two bears are my favorites at brooks falls. 480 otis and 164 bucky dent. otis needs no introduction and is one of the most famous bears in the world and a symbol for conservation.  bucky is a very sociable young bear emerging from his teenage bear phase and has become famous for sitting right under the lip of brooks falls. some folks call him the shower bear. bucky bounces around and generally can not seem to figure out why all the other bears don’t love him . social boundaries do not exist in buckys world and the brooks falls hierarchy does not exist for him either. most of the largest bears including otis have been generally tolerant of him all summer as bucky likes to hang around him and some of the other large bears. he really seemed to like to be close to 747 and I was glad 747 didn’t mind since 747 is twice his size. I assume 747 does not view bucky as a threat and he would be right.   bucky is a very entertaining bear. both of these guys ( otis and bucky )  are featured in the fat bear contest this year. I love them both. the young and the old. ~ johnny

The second bear I voted for during Wednesday's voting, and my personal favorite for champion of 2022. Bear 747 is just massive, the website says he is one of the largest brown bears on Earth and is estimated to be around 1400 lbs (636 kg). I'm betting this bear is one I'll draw again this week...

FAT BEAR WEEK SEMIFINAL DAY ONE HAS ARRIVED!
Yesterday's FBW brought twists and turns as my beloved, four time crowned Fattest Bear 480 Otis was taken out by newcomer 901, and in a completely shocking turn of events for me, 128 Grazer beat out 151 Walker by a mere 4,000 votes. I really thought Walker was going to be the bear to beat, but that just goes to show you that anything can happen during Fat Bear Week.
Today we have fan favorites and previous champions going head to head: 747 against 435 Holly! Voting opened almost five hours ago and I still have no idea who I'll be voting for. They've both put on a shit ton of pounds! I have no idea how I'll choose. Voting closes at 5pm AKDT or 9pm EST, so I still have time to decide, but guys. I'm torn.
If you know who you'd vote for, vote here!

“I Think You’re Jealous” - Jasper Hale
Request: Can I get a fic about jasper and y/n about jealousy
Tumblr media
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As I hang out with my best friend Emmett, I can’t help but laugh. We were in the living room, spewing our random lines of bullshit from our favorite TV show we watched together.
It was constant, back and forth. It’s been about five minutes now, quoting “The Office.”
“I’m not superstitious, but I am a little stitious.” Emmett chimes.
“Identity theft is not a joke, Jim. Millions of families suffer every year.”
“If I don’t have some cake soon, I might die.”
“Life is short. Drive fast and leave a sexy corpse. That’s one of my mottos.” I say, trying to catch my breath from laughing so hard.
The whole family watched us in horror, knowing that we were absolutely nuts-- but watching it is a totally different thing.
It was the most chaotic time, leading up to screaming and jumping.
And then we both said it at the same time:
“Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.”
We then jumped, screaming and crashing into each other.
“Let’s goooo!” Emmett screams as he picks me up over his shoulder.
I look over and see the whole family shaking their head and trying to stifle a laugh. Except for Jasper, his face stone and lips pulled into a thin line.
This surprised you, as normally Jasper fed off your happiness and excitable energy.
Emmett noticed your sudden drop in excitement as your yelling ceased.
“What? Everything good?” He turned around, flinging you away from the sight of Jasper; realizing what was wrong.
He saw Jasper’s face and dropped me like a hot potato.
I fell to the floor with a thump before getting up quickly to see an even more displeased Jasper than before.
“Okay, I’ll be back.” I said before walking over to Jasper.
I grabbed his arm and brought him outside, giving us the illusion of privacy.
“What’s your deal, Jas?” I ask, looking up at him.
“Well, I just didn’t like to see my mate being thrown around like a ragdoll.” He said, looking blankly.
“I wasn’t being thrown around like a rag doll.” I stated.
“Yes. You were.” He said, looking down at me. “No- I think you’re just jealous.” I said smirking.
“No, I’m no-”
“Yes, you are. You’re really jealous about me having fun with Emmett? When he has a mate? Rosalie? Did you forget that? Or did you forget that we’re mates? And that nobody compares to you?” I said, looking up at him with guilt, but also some disappointment.
“I know, but I just get upset seeing at how happy he makes you sometimes. I can’t always match that energy.
“Oh God Jasper, I don’t want nor need you to match that energy. Do you know how chaotic everything would be? I love you the way you are, I fell in love with you. I love your calmness, I love your demeanor. You bring me a sense of peace nobody else could ever give me, you love me more than anyone, and I love you more than I could ever put into words.” I say, reaching my hand up to touch his icy cheek.
“I’m sorry, I just love seeing you that happy. I guess I just wish I was the cause.” He said, looking back at me with sorry eyes.
“Jas, don’t be nuts. You bring me so much happiness everyday. Just because we don’t run around screaming and almost setting the house on fire together every day, doesn’t mean I’m not happy. You make me happier than anyone else ever could.” I said, rubbing his face a little.
“Thank you, Darling.” He said, bending down to kiss my forehead.
“Of course, Jas. But if you ever get pissed off at me and/or Emmett for having fun again, I will have to yell at you.” I say looking him in the eye.
“You got it, ma’am.” He agreed, bending down to give me a sweet kiss on the lips.
“Is it safe to come out yet?” Emmett yells from the back door.
“Yes.” Jasper says, shaking his head.
“Listen Jasper, I didn’t mean to make you upset.” Emmett apologizes.
“No, no I’m sorry. I overreacted. You know, the whole mate thing is really sacred to me.” Jasper says looking at Emmett, hoping for his understanding.
“Yeah, I get it.” Emmett says as he pats his shoulder.
“Good, now can we watch The Office now?”  I ask.
They laugh and we walk inside as Jasper snakes his arm around my waist.
NIFTY KNITTING - GAMEPLAY OVERVIEW 🧶
Gameplay was what I was most excited for with this pack. As an irl crafter + crocheter, this is the dream! ✨ (Still would like a hobby pack though, EA).
I ended up going a lot more in-depth than I thought I would, so obvious “spoilers” under the cut.
Tumblr media
I was provided with an early access copy of Nifty Knitting to review via the EA Game Changers program!
Tumblr media
Getting started with the knitting skill is as easy as plopping a bag or basket of yarn into your sim’s inventory and picking something to create! At level one, you’ve got the choice between nine different beanie variations for all ages.
I noticed my sims had a tendency to gravitate towards rocking chairs for knitting, unless directed to sit elsewhere. You can pick their knitting spot by clicking on any sittable surface and telling them to knit in the pie menu.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, the bag or basket has to be in your sim’s inventory to do any sort of knitting. In my opinion, this sort of defeats the purpose of having yarn sitting around the home. It’s honestly a shame, since my apartment is covered in random bags of yarn and half finished projects. It doesn’t stop you from placing them for decoration, but it does make for some useless spending for sims on a budget. And honestly, what was the point of voting on what this looked like if we’re never going to see it outside of inventory?
Additionally, each sim will need their own basket of yarn in their inventory if multiple members of the household want to knit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As your knitter progresses through the skill, more things will become available.
level one - beanies
level two - socks
level three - mailbox cozys, hanging plants
level four - rugs
level five - sweaters, the ‘teach to knit’ interaction
level six - poufs
level seven - decorations (cacti, turtle, octopus, penguin, llama)
level eight - toddler and baby onesies
level nine - sweaters with scarves
level ten - child toys (bear, grim reaper), mentoring sims in knitting
completed aspiration - yarny toy, yarny sculpture, ‘sacred knitting knowledge’ trait, bonus when teaching other sims, ability to dispel the sweater curse
I was honestly pretty disappointed that onesies require such a high skill level. I’ve really been looking forward to decking out all the babies in my 100 Baby Challenge in cute new clothes. Like I mentioned in my CAS review, I don’t foresee Day having the time to devote to knitting in the forseeable future, much less getting to level eight.
Thankfully, items are available to buy on Plopsy!
Tumblr media
According to the gurus, Plopsy can also be used on the computer - but I never even thought to try it. I was honestly surprised that it was fully functional on the phone, both for buying and selling items.
Buying something on Plopsy is just like anything else in the game - funds are immediately deducted and the item can be found in your inventory. When purchasing clothes, you’ll need to select the item once it arrives in your inventory and hit ‘add to wardrobe’ in order for it to appear in CAS.
I specifically tested purchasing baby onesies, and it seems like a mod I have prevents them from actually being applied to the baby. I have no idea which one, but I tested two onesies purchased from Plopsy in a CC free game and had no issues.
Failed item variations cannot be purchased on Plopsy - your sims will have to make those all on their own!
Tumblr media
Selling items on Plopsy is probably my favorite part of this pack, and has the potential to be a huge money maker! Most things your sim can craft with a quality value assigned to it will have the option to be listed online from the sim’s inventory. I was able to list paintings, woodworking sculptures, herbal brews, photographs, flower arrangements, potions, candles, and knitted items for sale!
One of my test sims knitted a sweater dress and the cost of yarn was deducted automatically from her household funds - §50. She listed the dress on Plopsy, and within 24 hours she had an offer of §747. 💰
After knitting and selling duplicates of several items, it definitely seems like the cost varies a bit depending on the buyer. But I was always able to sell at a profit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Believe it or not, there are dangers to knitting! This pack doesn’t come with a new death, but instead a curse. In my opinion, this is a super fun change and I’m so glad for something different.
There’s a chance that when giving a significant other a knitted sweater, both sims will become cursed!
Oh no, you’re cursed! They say couples with the Sweater Curse are destined to break up, so be very, very careful. Maybe don’t try anything romantic for awhile, because it will not go well. The threads of fate can be cruel.
So naturally, I cursed Bob and Eliza and then spammed the hell out of romantic interactions. They were all rejected. Their relationship plummeted in the span of a few sim hours. I didn’t stick around to see if they would organically break up on their own, but it wasn’t looking good.
It’s worth noting that I was never able to get this to work while they were married, but the second I demoted them to dating they got hit with this nasty seven day long moodlet. So if you plan on gifting sweaters to significant others, it’s definitely worth completing the aspiration.
Tumblr media
As fun as the failed knitting items and the forbidden sweater look in CAS, there are consequences to wearing them in game!
The moment a sim puts them on, they’ll receive a negative moodlet:
Itchy Knits (From Clothing Item) It’s as if a thousand tiny insects are nibbling the flesh!
I’m a little disappointed that these aren’t feasibly wearable in game, but I’m sure someone will fix it with custom content. It does add another unique repercussion to knitting, though!
Tumblr media
On a more wholesome note, the ‘teach to knit’ interaction is absolutely adorable. 🥰 Knox sat down with Bee, his daughter with my simself, and got her skill all the way to level four!
Children can knit on their own without being taught, just like adults. But I have very fond memories of my grandma teaching me to crochet as a kid, so this was an interaction I was SUPER excited to see in the game.
Tumblr media
I still feel like this is a small pack as far as physical content goes, but the gameplay is pretty fun. Plopsy is an amazing feature, and I definitely see myself using it often! Both with buying and selling, I really feel like it adds another layer to the game and gives more self employment opportunities for sims that don’t want a traditional career.
There’s a bit of gameplay I feel like I didn’t get the chance to fully explore yet, but I’m looking forward to integrating it all into my game.
My initial reaction to playing this pack was disappointment, but I honestly think my expectations were too high. This is a stuff pack, it’s bound to be small. After a few days to sit and play around with it, the gameplay specifically grew on me. I still have a lot of mixed feelings - some things I really like and some things I’m just not crazy about at all (cough cough, buy mode. why did everyone vote in crazy pastels? it matches NOTHING).
But with tempered expectations in mind, I would ultimately recommend this pack for the gameplay elements alone - especially to crafters. As always, different people enjoy different things. If this style of gameplay isn’t your cup of tea, pass it up or wait for a sale!
 MOBILE RV REPAIR SERVICE IN LAS VEGAS NV
LAS VEGAS NV MOBILE RV REPAIR
 Everything You Need to Know About Mobile RV Repair Services
Mobile RV Repair Service near Las Vegas NV:  One thing we love about RVs is the fact that most repairs can be made quickly and easily by the owner. That said, there are times when you might need a little help with a repair. When these bigger issues arise, many people take their RV into the shop to be fixed. However, some people prefer to turn to mobile RV repair.
Wondering what mobile RV repair is, and if it might be a good option for you? This article covers the ins and outs of RV mobile repair, so you can decide with confidence whether or not this is the route you want to take next time your rig is in need of some TLC.
 What is a Mobile RV Repair Service?
As you might imagine, mobile RV repair service is a type of repair service that comes to you. This might mean that a mobile RV tech visits you in your campground or at your home.
In some cases, people choose this service out of necessity because they can’t move the RV due to damage. However, more often than not, a mobile RV mechanic is called out because it is the most convenient option.
 Types of Mobile RV Repair Services
Many people seem to believe that a mobile RV mechanic is one size fits all. However, this is not actually the case. In fact there are a total of three different types of mobile RV repair service.
1: RV Dealer or Repair Shop House Calls
Some RV dealerships and repair shops will make house calls on request. This is typically done only on an emergency basis, and you will likely pay a huge sum to have a tech from one of these places visit you. For this reason, we don’t recommend going this route if it can be helped.
2: Mobile RV Repair Specialists
There are some repair techs out there who specialize in a certain type of repair. These specialists often work out of their trucks, and if not that, they tend to be more willing to visit customers due to having a niche customer base. That said, because these repair people are specialists, you can also expect to pay well for their services.
3: General RV Repair Techs
Finally, there is the general mobile RV tech. This guy tends to be a jack of all trades, with a bit of experience fixing pretty much everything that can go wrong on an RV. They rarely have a shop to work out of, meaning mobile work is all they do. In most instances, this is the person you want to call in when you want mobile repair work done.
 Getting Parts for Mobile RV Repair
Mobile RV Repair Service near Las Vegas NV: Unfortunately, because the general mobile tech (option #3) tends to work from his or her truck, you can’t expect them to have every RV part you could possibly need on hand. This means the parts might need to be ordered online or picked up at a local store.
In some cases, the tech has connections and is able to get a bit of a discount, making it beneficial to order through them. That said, it often works just as well for you to order or pick up the needed items yourself.
You might find that it’s best to talk to the repair person beforehand to find out what you should order, and have it ready to go when they arrive. This will save everyone time and will likely save you some money.
 Benefits of a Mobile RV Repair Service
Mobile RV Repair Service near Las Vegas NV: The obvious benefit to hiring a mobile RV tech is the fact that you don’t have to move your RV at all. If you’re already all set up at your favorite campground, there is no need for you to unplug and hitch up to have repairs done.
Likewise, if your RV is sitting in your yard, calling in a mobile tech removes the need to drive the rig into a shop. Finally, there is the chance that you are unable to move the RV at all. In these cases, this benefit is not just convenient, it’s necessary.
Another awesome benefit of choosing an RV repair service that comes to you is the fact that the work can be done in your yard, meaning you may not even have to take off work to get it done.
We also appreciate knowing the tech will be focused only on your rig while he or she is at your home or on your site. This means mistakes are less likely to be made due to distraction, and you know you are paying for hours spent focused purely on your RV.
Other mobile RV repair services include:
● Window blind and shade repair
● Carpet replacement
● Oil & filter changes
● RV detailing (wash & wax)
● Holding tank clean-out
 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
 Mobile RV Repair Service near Las Vegas NV: In an effort to always provide the highest level of service to our customers, we try to anticipate our customers’ needs in order to be proactive in our service and care. That being said, it’s not out of the ordinary for customers to have questions about our RV services, and so we’ve compiled a list of the questions frequently asked.
 How often should I have my RV serviced?
 This typically depends on how often you use your RV. If you’re a full-time RV enthusiast, you’re going to want to have certain systems, including your air conditioning and furnace looked at and cleaned at least once a year. You should also have your brakes checked and bearings repacked once a year, or every 10,000 miles whichever comes first. If you’re living in your RV at a park full-time, just make sure you get your brakes and bearings checked and serviced before you set out on the road again. Bearing grease will break down over time, and brake parts will rust-up, so it’s best to be proactive.
 There are other items to check routinely, including your RV’s roof and exterior wall sealants, overall roof condition, jack systems, and any other systems that you frequently use. These need to be checked or operated and lubricated every six months or so in order to ensure that they’re functional and keeping the elements out of water is an RV’s WORST enemy!
 What RV types do you work on?
 Yours! We may not cover every system you have, some motorhomes are more complex than a 747 but we can repair most of it! We’ll be upfront and honest with you about which parts and systems we’ll be able to work on before we begin. We’re not going to waste your time or take any chance of damaging your RV or our reputation by taking on a project that we can’t handle.
 What forms of payment do you accept?
 Cash, check, Bitcoin, or credit card. I have even worked for food. It was worth it!
 What RV manufacturers do you specialize in?
 For the most part, all manufacturers build their RVs in a similar way, which makes RV service and repair fairly straightforward for any model. The same systems that are in a Forest River are also in a Highland Ridge or a Coachmen; the RV manufacturer doesn’t matter all that much, and we can repair them all.
 What is the turnaround time for repairs?
 Our turnaround time depends on several factors, including:
 ● The extent of the repairs
● The availability of the required parts (if we don’t have them in stock)
● The amount of jobs already in progress or scheduled
 Normally, we can get to your RV to at least diagnose the problem within the week you call. We work with all of our customers to ensure timely and efficient service.
Modern Warfare 2 Online Tips
It might take a while to fill up the 747, like 4 hours and you may have to be dead center on the flame, but one drop in the front of a fire and no gas will be burnable that direction. Naturally there are environmental problems with this much material. If you miss, it would be a big deal and small drones costly too, but if you had the ideal pilot, it could work. Proof of concept would be most fascinating and of course a way to slow down the aircraft to approximately 110 knots would also be quite good, this can actually be accomplished by way of modification. And think of how many of these airplanes are parked in the desert in Tucson, you could probably extinguish a whole volcano? If you could only fly through the ash without having all four motors quit? Cold-Blooded makes you invisible to choppers, harriers, UAV and sentry. This is a great perk for Snipers and campers but comes in handy for all styles. UAVs once on the floor should be able to park themselves or tie themselves down. The floor robots should be able to tie them down, untie themfuel them up and do preflight duties. Shell Oil company developed a robot which could fuel your car if you're parked in the right spot beside the gas pump, so it's easy to see how robotic ground teams can handle Commercial small drones these things. Why not? The smg weapons are my favorite weapons. I can't stand waiting back there waiting for someone to run in my sniper scope, I am excited to find someone to prey upon with my number one call of duty 4 course. This classes gun is the mp5, I feel the mp5 is far better than the p90 for a number of reasons, but the main one is that it's better range. The perks that you ought to use are stopping power, bandolier, and steady aim. I would also throw a red dot scope on this weapon, however I do have a course below that utilizes a mp5 using a silencer. This call of duty 4 weapon class is one of my favorite! 2) seat MUST be secured with the auto seat belt system or to factory installed UAS anchor bars (restraint clips tucked between the seat back and the seat itself and marked with a visible emblem ). UAS anchor bars are in all cars built since September 1, 2002. All automobile new car seats have 2 USA Connectors compatible with this child restraint system. And it is not just a simple click and quick tug of the belt which will do. It will take all of your adult weight and power to bear-down on the car seat and pull tight the seat belt or anchor straps. It might even take TWO adults to carry out this more-than-snug feat. You will significantly compress the pad of your rear seat. It is only right if there is no side to side motion in the bonded seat. Overkill is a fun perk which lets you carry two primary weapons. This perk works best if you use a sniper rifle as one and a different weapon type as your secondary weapon. This is effective because, as we all know, it's very difficult to kill people with your sniper rifle in close combat. So having that extra weapon eliminates that weakness. If you go too high the water would be ice and thus pretty much un-collectable. Perhaps you could use harmonic to break the ice or help heat the steam. I certainly hope this guide is of interest and that's has propelled thought. The goal is simple; to help you on your quest to be the best in 2007. I thank you for reading my many articles on diverse topics, which interest you.
Redo. Bakugou Katsuki
Request: hey hey hey! Your angst is well, angsty. I love it, could you do a Bakugo&Reader fighting a villain with a quirk that can erase memories and the reader gets caught by their quirk? I love your writing keep it up!
Word count:2.5K
Warnings: Swears
Notes:  If you don’t think Bakugou says ‘yo,’ you can fight me. Can we also make it canon that Bakugou loves saying shit like “THAT’S MY WIFE”
It was just a normal Wednesday afternoon where Bakugou was concerned.  Sure, you got called off on a mission, but that wasn’t going to stop him. He had work to do.  It was Wednesday and Wednesday meant trash day, mid-week laundry day, and “Bakugou, please, for the love of All Might, organize your dresser drawers” day.  With you out on a mission, that also meant that he was in charge of dinner so the two of you could eat when you were done.
Bakugou felt like a housewife straight out of the 1950s.  He had a bandana to hold his hair away from his face.  He had an apron protecting his black t-shirt.  It was your flower-y apron, but it was an apron nonetheless.  He had been balancing a number of different tasks during the day, making sure his pasta didn’t boil over, folding and putting away your laundry, making the bed, paying attention to his favorite soap opera so he could discuss with Kirishima later, cleaning out the fridge, and anything else he could think of that needed to be done.
He was draining his pasta when his phone started to buzz and play the tune that he had set to your contact.  He hit the speaker button and continued dumping his noodles into the strainer.  “Hey, babe.  How’s it going?” He asks.
“Woah.  Didn’t realize we had reached ‘babe’ status,” a voice that is very much not yours answers with a laugh.
“Oh, hey, Kirishima.  Dude! Did you see today’s episode?!”
“Dude! Jessica!”
“I know! She’s totally going to get murdered by her ex-husband’s new girlfriend’s son.”
“He’s so gonna kill her! Okay, but Ivan, though?  I didn’t like him, but I think he’s growing on me.”
“Yeah, he and Karen stole that baby and he’s like a new dude.  A good dad?  Now that’s something I can get behind.  It’s really too bad that the baby was just a scheme set up by Karen so she could leave the baby with Ivan and sneak off with Derek.”
“Yeah, it’s gonna suck when Ivan finds out.  But, he’s not find out for at least another three months.”
“Dude, I know,” Bakugou says, sighing.  Then he remembers.  “Yo, why do you have Y/N’s phone?”
“Oh, yeah! So, here’s the shit.  Dropped my phone in the ambulance on the way here, so one of the EMT guys is go-”
Bakugou’s smile drops.  He sets the pot in the sink, holding his phone up to his ear.  “Why did you need an ambulance, Kirishima?” He growls.
“Oh, I didn’t! Y/N did,” Kirishima says nonchalantly, as if it really wasn’t a big deal and that it was as normal as catching a bus.
“What the hell did you do to my wife!”
“Oh! Right! That’s why I called you. See,” Kirishima’s composure switches from his typical cheer to more of a nervous shake, but most people did that when they had to talk to an angry Bakugou, especially if it concerned you.
“I swear on your mother’s life, if you let any villain lay a finger on my wife, I will personally cut off your toes and shove them down your throat!” Bakugou threatens, his rage bubbling with each passing moment.
“No! Dude, she’s fine! Well, kind of… Like, she’s definitely awake, sitting right here next to me.”
“Then, let me talk to her.”
“Well, about that… Maybe you should talk to her in person.”
“Remember Kirishima, if I get there and there’s as much as a scr-”
“Yeah, I know, dude.  Toes.  Yum.  Gotcha.  Stop threatening me and come here.”
Bakugou didn’t need to be told twice.  He had already hung up the phone and was half way out the door. “Shoes, keys, phone, wallet,” he mutters to himself, patting his pockets before leaving.
But he came bursting back through the door a few moments later with a simple, “Fuck, my chicken!”  He yanked open the oven, grabbing the dish of chicken breasts, ready to be added to the pasta, recoiling as the scalding hot pan seared his hand. Bakugou released a stream of swears as he held his hand under the now running tap, digging in a drawer for a pot holder. With his new safety precaution, he removed the chicken, setting it down on top of the stove before sprinting out the door.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He stood at the front desk at the hospital, tapping his fingers against the desk impatiently, waiting for a receptionist.  A tired young man emerged from around the corner and took a seat and gave Bakugou a polite smile. “What can I do for you, sir?”
“I need to see Y/N Bakugou.”
“Okay,” he murmured, typing your name into his computer.  “What’s the relation?”
“She’s my wife! I should get to see her!”
“Can I see your ID?”
“This is ridiculous,” Bakugou grumbled, pulling his ID out of his wallet and handing it to the guy behind the counter.
The receptionist doesn’t say anything, checking the information on the ID to the information Kirishima had written on your patient forms.  “Okay, sir, everything seems to match up, Ms. Bakugou is on the seventh floor, room 737.  Just go through those doors and the elevator will be to your left.”
“Thanks,” he mutters, sliding his ID back in his wallet and starts to walk away.  “Oh, hey, by the way, that’s Mrs. Bakugou to you.”
Up the elevator and down the hall he went.  He practically slammed the door to your room open.  “Alright, dumbass, what-” He’s greeted by the horrified stare of a little girl hooked up to an IV.  He looked at the number plaque on the door.  747. Shit. “I’m so sorry.  I’ll just be going,” he says, starting to leave.
“Hey, mister!”
“Yeah, kid?”
“Are you that one superhero with the fire?”
“Yeah, that’s me.  Listen, kid, I’m a little busy right n-”
“You and the really nice lady are married, right?”
He couldn’t help but laugh at you being referred to as ‘the really nice lady.’  He knew just how feisty you could be, especially with him.  He had seen you red hot mad, threatening to smack him with a spoon.  He knew that you could and would kick his ass given a good enough reason.  But he also had seen you out in the field, saving civilians.  It brought out your motherly nature and what being a hero was all about, helping people.  So, he figures he could see where she got the idea.
“Yeah, I am,” he answers, smiling a little, running his thumb over his silver wedding band.
“She saved my life today, but I didn’t get to tell her thank you.  So, can you give this to her?” The girl holds up a folded piece of paper with a crudely drawn image of you and the girl on the front with ‘Thank you’ written in purple crayon, but it was spelled more like ‘Thak yew,’ but it’s the sentiment that matters, right?
Bakugou walked over to her and crouched down so he was level with her.  “I’ll tell you what, I’ll take this to her, and when she’s all good to go, I’ll bring her by for a quick visit, okay?”
Her eyes lit up as she clutched the teddy bear that was wearing a little mask that was similar to the one you wear.  “You’d really do that? She’s my favorite!”
“I’m sure that she’d love to meet you.  Now, I have to go find her, but I’ll make sure she gets your card.”
“Thank you, mister!”
“Of course.  Feel better, kid.”  Bakugou walked out of the room, closing the door much quieter than he had opened it.
740.
739.
738.
Found it.
737.
He double-checked the number on the door and just to be safe, he took the clipboard of health information off the wall, checking it over for your name.
There it was.
Y/N Bakugou.
He opened the door to you laying in your hospital bed, carrying on a quiet conversation with Kirishima who was sat in the chair next to your bed.  At the sound of his entering, you and Kirishima stop your conversation and turn your attention to him.  Kirishima smiles at him, but you just stare at him in confusion.
“Hey, man!” Kirishima says, raising a hand in greeting.
Bakugou moves over to your side.  He sets the card down on the table next to you before sitting down on the edge of the bed.  “What’s up, dumbass?” He asks, looking at you.
You just look at him, pulling your legs up towards the rest of your body and away from him.  “Kirishima?” She asks, turning back to her previous conversation partner.
Bakugou looks at you bewildered and then turns his gaze to his friend.  “I thought you told me that she was fine!” He snapped.
“Yeah, she is, dude!”
“Then, why is she acting like that!”
“I’m right here, you know,” you pipe up, obviously offended that he’s talking about you in such a manor when you’re three feet away from him.
“Yeah, about that,” Kirishima says, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.  “So, we were fighting off this villain, right? Well, we were helping the people we evacuated and this dude’s like, ‘Yo, my daughter is still in there.  You gotta help her.’ So, we were like, ‘Ight. Bet.’ So, we’re going to find this dude’s daughter and we find her, obviously, because we’re heroes, you know?  Anyway, so, we got the kid and we’re leaving and then bad guy shows up out of nowhere! He’s all like ‘gotta snatch those memories for that power,’ and he’s going for the kid, but Y/N throws the kid behind her just in time to save the girl, so that’s the good news.  Bad news, she doesn’t remember shit.  I’ve been trying to jog her memory since she woke up, but nothing’s working, dude.”
Bakugou turns his attention to you.  “Who am I?” He asks.
“A grouchy asshole who came into my hospital room, called me a dumbass, and started yelling at the only person who’s been here for me!”
“My name, smartass,” he snarls.
“How the hell am I supposed to know! Didn’t you hear? I don’t remember.”
“You don’t get to not know me! We’re married! See this?” He snaps, holding up his hand next to yours. “Married.  So, you better figure out who I am real fast, princess.”
“Why would I marry you? You’re a complete ass!”
“I said the exact same thing, but you sure as hell didn’t care then, so why do you now!”
“Because I don’t know who you are!” You shout.
 The room is filled with eerie silence as it finally sinks in. You really don’t know.  You really don’t remember being married to him for the past five years.  You don’t remember dating him.  You don’t even remember his name.
“Y/N, baby, it’s me.  It’s Katsuki.”  He scoots closer to you, taking your hands in his, maybe hoping the feeling would ignite some kind of memory.  “I’m your Kacchan. Your literal hot-stuff.  Come on! Sugar Muffin?”
Kirishima can’t help but snort.
“Die.”
“Listen, I believe you, really, but I just don’t remember.”
“No! You have to.  You have to remember, Y/N.  You can’t just forget everything that we’ve been through.  Everything we’ve planned.  We had our whole life planned! You can’t just forget something like that, Y/N!” He begged.  The anguish was beginning to wash over him.  How could you?  How could you just forget about The Plan?  You guys were supposed to go to the shelter soon and pick out a dog.  The two of you wanted to have a kid within the next few years.  You were going to buy your first house outside of the city, so Yuri could grow up in a safer place.  Yuri was supposed to have a little sister.  They were going to grow up and go to a hero school, just like their parents, if they wanted to.
“Please,” he whispered, squeezing your hands.  “You have to remember.  I can’t spend the rest of my life knowing that you don’t remember who I am.  You’re my everything, Y/N.  I mean, just look at these pictures!” He pulls his phone from his pocket and opens his camera roll, going to the saved album that was just pictures of the two of you. “Maybe if you look at how things used to be, you’ll remember.  See, there’s us last Christmas.  You bought us those stupid reindeer antlers, because you thought they’d make a cute picture for our Christmas card.  This one’s from your birthday.  We took a hike and had a picnic next to this really pretty lake.  I bet that you couldn’t catch five grapes in your mouth.  You couldn’t, so I got to throw you in the lake. You ended up getting pneumonia, because I’m a dumbass.  We took this one on our anniversary.  I took you to the aquarium.  I hadn’t seen you that excited in such a long time.  You were running around that place like a kid in a candy store.  You kept trying to take selfies with the fish.  Here’s one of our wedding pictures.  You looked so incredible.  I really couldn’t believe that I was finally going to be able to call you my wife.  Look, there’s Kirishima ruining our perfectly good photo.”
Bakugou probably spent close to two hours scrolling through the photos, telling you a little bit about each one, hoping that you would jump in with some other memory from the day, but he never got that.  You just sat there in silence, smiling politely, adding a small ‘That’s nice’ every now and again.  But, you just truly didn’t remember and no amount of pictures was going to change that.  Bakugou was aware of that, but he wasn’t willing to admit it.  He wasn’t willing to admit that every moment, every kiss, every secret shared was now gone from your memory.
He finally stopped.  He couldn’t do it anymore.  He couldn’t keep scrolling through those photos and see you feeling nothing right in front of him.  He took your hands, squeezing them in his.  Bakugou leaned his forehead against your knuckles.  His back rose and fell with shaky breaths.  “I should’ve been there.  I should’ve protected you.  That’s what a good husband does.  But, I just let this happen to you instead.  I’m such a piece of shit…”
“Stop that,” you say.  “From everything you told me, you sounded like you were a perfect husband.  I’m sorry, okay?  I wish I could remember.”
“I just don’t.”
Two Eleven Super
“London is very human-scale,” I am quick to pitch for one of my favorite cities in the world.
Her eyes widen and her face lights up. She nods her head vigorously and points her finger at me, in complete agreement. This is the moment in a conversation when one person articulates perfectly what the other person was thinking but couldn’t quite put into words. B and I have been explaining to each other how both of us are more comfortable living in cities where we can walk or take public transport.
“Oh gosh London, yes! Seeing a London trip on my schedule always fills me with immense warmth. Imagine being able to walk around a city slowly absorbing all that it has to offer, the sights, the sounds, the traditions.”
They say never meet your celebrity heroes because you’ll inevitably find something disappointing. I think the same applies to some of the great cities of the world. But both of us conclude hands down that London does not fall in this category.
“Actually London is not even a celebrity. London is a reliable old friend. A friend that has not lost their sense of culture and tradition. The monuments, the churches ...”
“.....and the bridges across the Thames - each one steeped in history.” We are finishing each other's sentences now. “The railway stations. The tube - a subterranean metropolis beneath a metropolis. The Mind the Gap jokes.”
“And what about the black cabs and then … and then the red double decker buses. Oh the red buses - what an icon! They say tourists take the tube but real Londoners take the bus.”
“Aha! You’re probably right. Flocks of pigeons on Trafalgar square, the shops on Oxford Street.”
“And you can’t forget the ever present murky skies, steady rain, rippled puddles, umbrella bearing pedestrians.”
“Of course you just had to mention the Great British weather!” A disapproving look is thrown. The entire body of humor surrounding the British weather is a road we agree not to go down.
---
I continue to quiz B on some of the other cities that she thought would fit the human-scale bill. New York inevitably comes up as a place she has not only travelled to but lived in. I am glad she brought up New York. Now New York is not an old friend. New York is a person you know you shouldn’t fall for, but you do anyway. There is something about the pace and the madness that sets New York apart from the rest of the US. Something about the people, coming from all corners of the world. To make a living, or even half a living. American dream and all that.
In New York you are acutely aware of the class divide that exists in society. New York is dirty. The subway is full of creaking old trains. New York has JFK and LaGuardia both of which are dismal at best and soul destroying at worst. Oh and Penn Station. Never has there been a more classic case of the mighty having fallen. A complete and utter hell hole out of some post apocalyptic world.
But somehow it all works. Barely. And that is where New York absolutely has you. As you walk around the city, you peel back the layers and beneath all the flaws and scars, you will find a genuinely captivating person. A person that knows how to push your buttons and make you forget the pandemonium, if only for a split second. Through the dollar pizzas on the street corners. Through the sheer magic of Central Park and the museums. Through the Manhattan skyline; hands down the best skyline in the world. Standing next to the Hudson, under the Brooklyn Bridge, with Lady Liberty keeping a quiet watch from a distance, you will be powerless as New York sucks you in. One glittering high rise at a time. Dreamy eyed, you cannot help but stare in wonderment. Hundreds of floors, thousands of windows. What goes on inside? And the lights! Yes so many lights. What could be a better tribute to Tesla, Faraday and the like?
“In general, the east coast of the United States is on a much more human-scale. Relatively small states with trains taking you across borders within a couple of hours at the most.”
“Going west of maybe Illinois, they started drawing great big rectangles for states.”
“And then there’s Texas. Vast open skies in an almost revolting shade of blue. Just as vast are the expanses of highway, further than the eye could see, or care to see. Wide, long and monotonous. Not a single human-scale building in sight”
“And who the hell builds highways passing through the center of a city!? Makes going to get some milk feel like a great expedition to the other side of the world.”
More chuckles.
Then a brief silence, during which I am suddenly reminded of where I am - in a lounge on the upper deck of an A380. A massive ship hurtling through the ether, pushing the speed of sound. A big TV screen near where I am standing silently glares back at me indicating that -50 degrees is but a mere 10 meters from where I am standing. Yet here we are, B and I, chatting like two friends catching up over coffee.
But of course, we are not friends. Not even acquaintances. She is on the Emirates cabin crew. And I am just a passenger.
---
Back at my seat, halfway through an episode of Chernobyl, I pause to stare out of the window. Beyond the wing, which seems to stretch out to eternity, a smudge of orange is forcing its way through the royal blue of the sky. I can hear the muffled yet reassuring boom from the four Rolls Royce engines. It is then that I realize that there is nothing about the A380 that is human-scale. There is nothing about the skies which she inhabits that is human-scale. I've travelled on the beloved Super dozens of times. Yet I continue to be amazed at the size and scale with which she operates. Devouring continents and swallowing oceans. Bringing the other side of the world just a little closer to home.
A friend of mine often describes journeys on the A380 as the closest we can get to the long sea voyages on gigantic ocean liners in the 1930s. And he is right. Two decks with so much space to stretch out. Bars, lounges, showers - no expense spared in ensuring luxury. Imagine peering out of the window from your first class cabin on the Queen Mary and seeing nothing but vast open sea. Right now I am doing exactly the same. Only from 36000 feet above the Earth, and all I can see is the vast open sky. Far below, Moscow and St Petersburg slip behind us. Scandinavia and the Atlantic Ocean lie ahead. As we burn more fuel, over North America, we will eventually settle in the exclusive airspace of flight level 410.
The Boeing 747 is a work of art. Sheer poetry. The Airbus A380 however, is a lesson in outsmarting the laws of Physics. It is an absolute whale of a plane that looks like it should never leave the surface of the Earth in the first place. But somehow it does, through the most languid and sluggish of take offs.  Once up at cruising altitude though, it is steady ship all the way to your destination. The ability to punch through the sky without even the faintest of trembles is simply unmatched. I continue to stare wistfully out of the window, thinking about how much I’ll miss the A380 when she’s gone. She’s right up there with the Concorde in that nothing like this will ever be built in my lifetime.
---
Resting my head on one of the fluffiest pillows ever to have taken flight, I gaze at the roof of the cabin - tiny twinkling stars gently coaxing me to drift off into a deep sleep. And frankly, it is not hard to. The bed is completely flat and the mattress is more comfortable than the one I have at home. The blanket is ever so soft. The fake gold and wood around the windows is not something I’d furnish my home with, yet up here in the sky, it somehow adds to the coziness. From my own little cocoon, I can see neither the aisle nor other TV screens. Not a single window shade in the cabin is raised. I don’t remember the last time I fell asleep on a plane without an eye mask.  All I can hear are the engines whirling away, and the hushed sound of the air beating against the fuselage - no more than a relaxing white noise.
In the moments between lying down and falling asleep, I am thinking about the countless journeys I’ve made with Emirates over the last two decades. Leaving home as often as I’ve had to, I’ve come to really treasure the sense of familiarity that an Emirates flight brings to me. I’ve never stopped to think about it before but there is a certain warmth and tenderness you feel when you have an old faithful travel companion to share your journeys with. And Emirates has been that companion for me, helping me wipe away the homesickness. Slowly at first, then all at once. The boarding music that says “Hello Tomorrow”. The inflight announcements that say “Tayaran Al Emarat”. The reassuring voice of Sir Tim Clark answering questions on the default podcast channel. The wavy curves on the cabin wallpaper. The cabin crew with their brown blazers and their red hats.  When choosing an airline to fly, it is hard to look past this comfort of familiarity resulting from a bond first formed unwittingly, many years ago. And strengthened over numerous journeys from one side of the planet to the other, including this one. Before I can process any more thoughts, I slip into a happy and peaceful sleep. We are probably somewhere over the North Atlantic. But in this moment, it hardly matters.
---
Six hours have passed. B is on hand to wake me for dinner. It seems the crew has saved the best meal till the very end. Three courses this evening, starting with a chick-pea salad that doesn’t make you hate your life with its dreariness. I politely refuse the alcohol but ask for a piece of garlic bread on the side. Which is brought to me, warm, from a basket lined with cloth. The main course is served with the Jeera rice cooked in just the right amount of butter. The ratio of jeera to rice - perfect. The Rajma has the power to rival any dhaba in North India and along with it is a second curry made with melt-in-your-mouth soft paneer. Actual phulkas to go on the side, instead of pita.
And if you're going to go full North Indian with your meal, you need some achaar. Which obviously is on my tray as well. Emirates just knows how to serve Indian food. If I had any doubts about this, they are well and truly shattered when B brings the dessert. Four of the finest pieces of Rasgulla. Sometimes you have a meal so sublime that you are moved to shedding a tear or two. This AVML has been one such.
I call B over one last time to thank her for everything. She passes me a brownie, one very similar to those I’d been wolfing down earlier while talking to her in the lounge. This of course, brings the widest of smiles to my face. Not because I like brownies. But most certainly because of the fact that she had noticed. And remembered. The crew has been absolutely stellar on this flight.
---
Business class. A crew that knows how to pronounce your ridiculously long last name. A crew that has time to engage in conversations with you. Meals served on crisp white table cloths. Meals that come in courses. Flat beds to stretch your legs. Flat beds to rest your weary soul. On a grueling ultra long haul flight across 10 time zones, almost anything that seeks to make you feel more earthly is highly appreciated.
This has been Emirates Two Eleven Super - Dubai to Houston in just under seventeen hours, albeit the best seventeen hours of my life.
