Jaehyun sprang into action, swiftly manoeuvring to catch the basketball tossed by his teammates. Just as he prepared to take a shot, the coach's whistle pierced through the air, signalling the end of today's training session.
"Aish," he muttered to himself, releasing a disappointed sigh before dropping the ball to the ground.
Fist-bumps were exchanged, mutual words of encouragement were shared, and the team dispersed towards the changing room. Jaehyun situated himself between Mingyu and Eunwoo, the sound of lockers being opened filling the air.
"Let's grab dinner at that restaurant we hit up yesterday. You know, the one that always hooks us up with extra side dishes. I'm starving," Mingyu suggested, casting a glance at Jaehyun.
"Yeah, sure. Eunwoo, you in?" Jaehyun inquired, turning to his teammate.
Eunwoo merely turned his head, offering Jaehyun a cold stare before wordlessly heading to the showers, brushing past Mingyu and Jaehyun without a word. The two boys exchanged resigned sighs, accustomed to Eunwoo's distant demeanor.
"Guess he's content living life solo. Seems to be his M.O.," Jaehyun remarked sarcastically, throwing an arm around one of his teammates as they made their way to the showers together.
Despite being the team captain, Eunwoo rarely joined his teammates for post-training meals. While he was undeniably popular and academically successful, Eunwoo's reserved nature and occasional self-centeredness set him apart from the rest, particularly Jaehyun.
As the boys finished showering and left the basketball court, Eunwoo diverged from the group, his footsteps leading him in the opposite direction. With a heavy sigh, he checked his phone, reading a message from his friend.
"Eunwoo, I just finished studying for tonight. How's your day?" you texted.
Replying as he walked, Eunwoo continued his solitary journey.
--
The bustling atmosphere of the restaurant was a stark contrast to the quiet camaraderie of the basketball court. Laughter and chatter filled the air as the team settled into their seats, the restaurant staff familiar with their boisterous antics.
"Hey, Captain, what's your game plan post-graduation? We're hitting 18, right?" Mingyu queried, glancing around at his teammates.
"Why are you never thinking about the future?" he prodded, leaning in towards Jaehyun.
"Stop with the 'Captain' nonsense. Eunwoo's the real deal," Jaehyun retorted with a smirk.
"I know that. We're just curious. Cha Eunwoo seems to have his future all mapped out. So, what's your play?" Mingyu persisted.
While Jaehyun wasn't averse to discussing his future, he couldn't provide a definitive answer. Unlike Eunwoo, who had clear goals, Jaehyun was still uncertain about his path forward. Focused more on sports than academics, Jaehyun's family's financial struggles added an additional layer of complexity to his situation.
"The future?" Jaehyun mused, pouring water into his friend's empty glass before resting his arms on the table, his gaze fixed on the surface.
"That's a strong word," he continued, meeting his friend's gaze with a serious expression.
"Eunwoo has powerful backers," Jaehyun remarked. "His destiny's practically written for him. He knows exactly where he's headed."
His friend nodded in agreement, acknowledging the truth in Jaehyun's words.
"Anyway, let's call it a night. They're closing up shop," Jaehyun suggested, signalling for the bill.
The memory of that fateful night lingered in Jaehyun's mind as he walked home from practice. Stopping by a nearby convenience store, he purchased a pack of instant noodles before stepping outside. There, he encountered a man in his late forties seated on a bench—an encounter that would change everything.
"Evening, Mr. Jung," the man greeted, extending a hand for a shake, though Jaehyun's hands were full.
"Sorry, my hands are occupied," Jaehyun replied curtly, his guard up.
"My apologies. Let me introduce myself. I'm Mr. Lee, from the national basketball team," the man said, offering Jaehyun his business card.
Taking the card reluctantly, Jaehyun listened as Mr. Lee outlined an enticing offer—an offer that came with a condition: Jaehyun must become the team captain by the end of the semester's final game.
With a sense of foreboding settling in his gut, Jaehyun watched as Mr. Lee bid him farewell, leaving him to contemplate the weight of his decision.
--
The following day dawned with crystalline clarity, the school gradually filling with students as the morning sunlight streamed into Classroom 3-5, where Jaehyun found his seat. Despite sharing a class with Eunwoo, Jaehyun didn't pay much mind to him.
Entering the classroom with his bag slung over one shoulder, Jaehyun observed the usual morning bustle: some students gossiping, others hastily applying makeup in a bid to look their best. Meanwhile, Jaehyun quietly settled at his desk near the window, resting his head upon it in a familiar ritual, his hands cradling his head as he sought solace in a few moments of reprieve.
Uninterested in classroom chatter, Jaehyun often used these moments to steal a brief respite from his classmates. However, just as he teetered on the brink of sleep, the sliding of the classroom door disrupted his tranquility.
"Hey y/n, you're later than Jaehyun today," one of the girls remarked.
Y/N, another classmate, was an outsider known for your intellect and rumoured connection to Eunwoo. Speculation swirled that you might be engaged to Eunwoo in the future, inheriting both of your families' companies together. Nexus Architecture and Evergreen Designs & Associates. However, the gossip surrounding you led to disdainful treatment from your peers.
"Oh, really? We must have taken the same bus again," you replied with a smile, unaware of the snickers and whispered comments circulating around you.
Exasperated, Jaehyun heard the thinly veiled mockery directed at you, prompting a silent shake of his head before he sank further into his thoughts.
--
The shrill ringing of the lunch bell marked the midday break, prompting a rush of students streaming towards the dining hall. Among them stood you, patiently waiting in line for her meal.
"Oh, y/n, joining the lunch queue today?" a group of girls approached her, their tone laced with derision.
"Yeah, I forgot my lunchbox today," offering a friendly smile despite the thinly veiled contempt in their gaze.
The girls exchanged glances, stifling laughter before one of them jeered, "Aren't lunchboxes for eight-year-olds?"
Feeling the sting of embarrassment, you averted her gaze, your cheeks flushing with shame as tears threatened to well up.
Jaehyun observed the scene unfold with a mix of empathy and frustration. While he sympathized with your plight, he couldn't help but feel exasperated by the petty antics of their classmates. It was a reminder of the shallow nature of high school society, where appearances and rumours held more weight than genuine kindness.
Eunwoo's departure from the lunch table didn't go unnoticed, his actions stirring a silent curiosity among his friends, including Jaehyun. As Eunwoo made his way to the vending machine, Jaehyun's gaze trailed after him, silently observing the unfolding scenario.
"Hey, where are you going?" Mingyu's voice cut through the ambient chatter, but Eunwoo remained unresponsive, his focus fixed on his destination.
Undeterred by Eunwoo's lack of response, Mingyu exchanged a puzzled glance with the others at the table, his curiosity piqued by his friend's sudden departure.
Meanwhile, Eunwoo deftly navigated the vending machine, his movements smooth and purposeful. Yet, his concentration was interrupted by the unexpected arrival of a girl, her presence laced with a hint of mischief.
As she leaned against the vending machine, a smirk playing on her lips, Eunwoo's demeanor shifted slightly, his eyes widening in mild surprise at her boldness.
"Taking care of your girl again, huh?" she taunted, her words laden with implication.
Eunwoo's response was measured, his expression unreadable as he absorbed her words. Though inwardly unsettled by her assumption, he chose to remain silent, his thoughts swirling with unspoken complexities.
"What do you mean 'my girl?"
"Isn't she yours? For you to take care of her that much?"
She moved towards facing the machine and continued to make her purchase. Eunwoo moved aside slightly, he just stayed quiet at her question. Are you his? He just never thought of sorting those feelings out.
"Choi Ye Won, next to meet you" the girl continued and held her hand out to Eunwoo.
He hesitated momentarily, his gaze flickering between her outstretched hand and her expectant expression.
"Not for now," he replied cryptically, his tone tinged with uncertainty as he sidestepped her invitation.
Returning to the dining hall, Eunwoo's attention was drawn to you, his presence a comforting sight amidst the chaos of the lunchtime crowd. With a small gesture of kindness, he offered you the bread he had purchased, a simple yet meaningful gesture that spoke volumes.
"Hey I heard you forgot your lunch box today so I bought this for you. Though you might get hungry waiting in line"
Meanwhile, Mingyu's teasing remarks drew a knowing smirk from Eunwoo, his response veiled in playful ambiguity. Though his feelings for you remained a mystery even to himself, Eunwoo's actions spoke volumes about the depth of his care for you.
As the conversation flowed around him, Jaehyun stayed quiet, watching everything unfold. Little did he know, these events would soon draw him into a tangle of feelings and drama, making him question his place in their high school social circle.
--
"Jung Jaehyun, Mrs. Jeon is waiting for you in her office," a classmate's urgent voice broke through the classroom's murmurs, startling Jaehyun from the brink of sleep. He blinked, his eyes slowly focusing on the speaker.
"Now? Why?" Jaehyun's voice was groggy with confusion.
"Yeah, she's been asking for you. You better go," the classmate insisted.
As Jaehyun made his way to the teacher's office, the atmosphere felt charged with tension. Mrs. Jeon's voice reverberated through the corridor, sharp and unforgiving, as she berated a student for not meeting her expectations. Mr. Kim attempted to intervene, but Mrs. Jeon's frustration only seemed to intensify, her words lashing out like whips.
"How can I be expected to calm down when I'm surrounded by students who don't take their studies seriously?" Mrs. Jeon's voice echoed with exasperation as she gestured emphatically at the papers strewn across her desk.
"But Mrs Jeon, Jaehyun here has been making an effort. He's submitted his homework on time," Mr Kim interjected, trying to diffuse the situation.
Mrs. Jeon's eyes narrowed in Jaehyun's direction, her gaze piercing through him like daggers.
"Is that true, Jaehyun? Or are you just another slacker like the rest of them?"
Jaehyun felt the weight of her scrutiny bearing down on him, but before he could respond, there was a soft knock on the door.
"Excuse me, Mrs. Jeon," came the timid voice of yours, Jaehyun's classmate, peeking into the room.
It had been several days since Jaehyun last encountered you in the dining hall. As you now stood beside him, you respectfully bowed to both of your teachers. Mrs Jeon let out an audible sigh. Though the purpose of your presence was to meet Mrs. Jeon, it was Mr. Kim who took the initiative to greet her first, his warm smile providing a momentary reprieve from the tension in the room.
"Y/n, you're here early in the morning," Mr. Kim remarked, a hint of amusement evident in his voice as he continued, "Again."
Mrs. Jeon turned her attention towards you, preparing to deliver yet another admonishment.
"Y/n, you can't come in here every morning to ask about your exam marks. You need to socialize more with your friends," Mrs. Jeon began, her tone tinged with frustration.
"But school is for studying," you voice firm and unwavering.
The others fell into a stunned silence, captivated by your bold response. Mrs. Jeon, feeling the weight of her students' challenges, massaged her temples in an attempt to alleviate the emerging headache. Jaehyun, observing the unfolding scene couldn't help but murmur softly to himself.
"Interesting," Jaehyun whispered, his gaze fixed intently on you.
A few moments later, the school bell chimed, signaling the start of classes. Mrs. Jeon fixed them with a stern gaze before dismissing them with a curt nod.
"You, focus more," Mrs. Jeon's stern voice pierced the air, her finger pointed squarely at Jaehyun.
"And you," she turned her gaze to you, "go socialize more," her tone softened slightly.
As you both made your way through the bustling corridors filled with students rushing to their classrooms, you swung the door open, stepping out of the office with Jaehyun in tow. Just as you were about to dart off, Jaehyun quickened his pace and leaned in to whisper in your ear.
"If you want to socialize more, come eat lunch with me," he teased, a mischievous smirk playing on his lips, catching you off guard.
With a stunned expression, you froze in your tracks as Jaehyun chuckled at your reaction before darting off to their classroom, leaving you standing there, bemused by his playful antics.
--
The day passed in its usual blur of lectures and scribbled notes until the lunch bell brought a welcome reprieve. Jaehyun, struggling to keep his heavy eyelids from closing, finally stirred from his desk as his classmates filtered out of the room and towards the cafeteria.
As he made his way towards the door, a sudden blockade halted his progress. It was you, your innocent smile belying your obliviousness to the social norms.
"Jaehyun, let's have lunch," you said, holding your lunchbox.
Jaehyun stood there stunned, unsure how to respond. His mind went blank. He wasn't expecting you to be this ignorant but he wasn't that mean either.
"You just need to finish your lunch right? Let's eat somewhere else," said Jaehyun worriedly.
Gently redirecting you, Jaehyun guided you out of the classroom and away from prying eyes to a secluded spot beneath a sprawling tree in the schoolyard.
They decided to eat their lunch on the bench beneath a large tree in the school field, where you began to eat. It was a secluded spot, rarely frequented during lunchtime, ensuring they wouldn't be spotted. Jaehyun sat beside you, his hands crossed and feet tapping nervously on the ground. He hoped you would finish your lunch quickly, along with your lunchbox, to avoid drawing attention to their presence together.
"Are you okay?" you inquired, noticing Jaehyun's restless feet.
"Yeah, I'm fine, hurry up and finish your lunch," he replied, quickly grabbing your hand and pushing your chopsticks back into the lunchbox. You, being as innocent as ever, nodded and resumed eating your lunch.
"But—" you began, setting down your chopsticks. Jaehyun's concern grew as he turned to face you, waiting for you to continue.
"Why aren't you eating?" you asked, your gaze fixed on Jaehyun, realizing he hadn't brought anything with him.
"Did you forget your lunchbox?" you asked with a smile.
He simply nodded in agreement. Knowing that nobody brings a lunchbox anymore, he didn't want to waste any more time. You happily finished your lunch, grateful to have Jaehyun's company since you didn't have any friends to eat with at school. Having Jaehyun there made your day.
As you reached for the last gimbap from your lunchbox, Jaehyun breathed a sigh of relief. It was finally over; you had finished your lunch.
"Okay, finished. I'll get going," Jaehyun said, quickly standing up and walking away from you as fast as possible.
"Wait!"
Jaehyun forced himself to look back, a frown forming on his face. "What now?" he asked, glancing at you.
"Do you want to go to the basketball court together after class?"
"No," Jaehyun said sternly as he left.
--
Another school day dawned for Jaehyun. Stretching his legs off the bed and onto the floor, he raised his arms high, grazing the ceiling as he yawned. Glancing at the time, he realized it was still early, so he decided to walk to school that day.
Plugging in his earphones and selecting a song from his playlist, he enjoyed the peaceful walk. Lost in thought about his plans for the day, he reminded himself of his role as the basketball team captain—a responsibility he took seriously as a means to support his family and secure a better future.
Arriving at the school gates, he muttered to himself, "Basketball captain, no more problems."
Suddenly, he heard a commotion behind him and turned to see you on the ground, surrounded by scattered books. A girl who had walked past you was rolling her eyes and walking away.
"Hey, you pushed me!" you shouted after her, but the girl ignored your accusation and continued on her way.
Seeing you struggling, Jaehyun hesitated for a moment, torn between helping you and avoiding involvement with an outsider. He then ignores his inner conflict, he decided to lend a hand. Quickly gathering your books, he approached you and handed them over.
"Oh, Jaehyun!" you exclaimed in amazement. "Thank you for helping."
"Whatever," Jaehyun replied tersely, handing over the books before swiftly walking away. Though he wanted to advise you to be more careful, he found it awkward and opted for a brief response. Helping you was enough for one day.
Tumblr media
You walked silently behind Jaehyun, heading to the same classroom as usual. Surprisingly, he didn't walk away or leave you alone. Given the possibility of being pushed or bullied on your way to class, you stick close to him. Jaehyun noticed you following him but didn't mind, although he hadn't realized he wasn't walking away until he reached the stairs. Your eyes met briefly, both quickly looking away.
Jaehyun cleared his throat nervously before speaking up, offering a warning. "You should be more careful," he said.
"I should, I'm sorry. I'll be more careful to not slip on my feet again."
"Not your feet, them," he corrected you. "You should be careful of people around you."
Jaehyun noticed you freeze on the landing step, just standing there. Wondering if he had said too much or if you simply didn't understand, he debated whether to approach you. Before he could decide, a group of boys approached, prompting Jaehyun to continue up the stairs, leaving you behind.
--
During class, Jaehyun found himself lost in thought, gazing out the window toward the school entrance. He was barely paying attention until the lunch bell rang, snapping him back to reality.
As students started leaving the classroom for lunch, Jaehyun noticed his teammates, including Mingyu, heading toward his classroom. A smile formed on his lips at the sight of friends who remembered him. Just then, you approached his desk, and he knew he was in for an awkward encounter.
"Jaehyun, let's have lunch," you said, holding her lunchbox.
Internally, Jaehyun sighed, wishing to avoid this situation. Before he could respond, Mingyu's face appeared at the door, witnessing them together. Sensing the awkwardness, Mingyu quickly shut the door again. Jaehyun seized the opportunity, grabbing your wrist and leading her to the field.
"Eat it now, hurry," he urged.
"Are you not comfortable with me?" she asked, sensing his discomfort.
The question caught Jaehyun off guard, while he was crossing his arms, tapping his feet nervously.
"What?"
"Are you not comfortable with me, Jaehyun?" you repeated.
Jaehyun blinked, realizing his behaviour. He glanced at you, who seemed saddened.
"If you're not comfortable, you don't have to eat lunch with me," you offered.
Sighing, Jaehyun realised he was treating you out of pity. He forced himself to buy some snacks from a vending machine and returned to the bench.
"Satisfied? I'm having lunch too," he said, opening his soda.
"Okay," you replied, beginning to eat.
They ate in silence, and when lunch hour ended, Jaehyun made you promise to let him go to class first. As they parted ways, Jaehyun couldn't shake off the feeling of discomfort and guilt.
A week passed, and Jaehyun found himself still having lunch with you at the field bench. His training and mood hadn't improved, and the basketball match loomed ahead. During the game, he drank the usual soda and ate a chocolate bar, feeling stuck in a rut. As the match concluded, Eunwoo's skill earned him praise and adoration from the crowd.
He threw your bag onto the floor as soon as he entered the house, frustration weighing heavily on him. Memories of the game replayed in his mind, each missed opportunity and fumbled play haunting him. Despite the team's victory, he felt like he had let everyone down, especially with Mr. Lee there to evaluate his skills. Exhausted, Jaehyun collapsed onto the bed, trying to accept the day's events before drifting off into a troubled sleep.
--
You sat alone at your desk, observing the bustling activity of your classmates as they rushed out for lunch. It caught your eye at Jaehyun's motionless figure, his head resting on the table. Probably lost in his thoughts. You could hear concerned whispers from his teammates filling the air.
"Let's give him some space," Eunwoo intervened, urging the others to leave him alone.
You approached Jaehyun's desk, hoping to share lunch with him and lighten him up a bit. But Jaehyun's response was cold and dismissive, hurting you.
"Y/n, can't you tell I don't want to have lunch with you?" he snapped.
His words cutting deep to you, as the feeling of shame and rejection washed over as you struggled to hold back tears as Jaehyun continued, criticizing you for being weird and clingy. With a heavy heart, you watched him leave you alone in the classroom.
As the door closed behind him, your emotions overflowed with tears streaming down your cheeks. You gathered your belongings and made your way to the field bench, seeking comfort in the familiar routine of her lunch break.
You walked to the field bench and made yourself comfortable. You could feel your small fingers trembling over the situation that had happened but forced them by opening the lid of your lunchbox without hesitating for a second. Everything stayed the same for you, except when the tears rolled down your cheeks.
The world has been harsh on you.
--
"And that is all for today," said the teacher, closing the book in front of him to indicate the end of the last period. You left the class with your other classmates, joining the students in the corridor. After spending your lunch crying, you feel drained.
"Y/N!", someone calls you from behind.
You recognised the voice immediately, as you turned towards Eunwoo running toward you.
"Going to art class again?"
"Yes, how about you?"
"Y/N, are you okay?" Eunwoo sensed something was wrong with your response. He gently pulled your arm.
"I'm okay, Eunwoo. Thanks for asking,"
"Do you want me to walk you there? I can tell the coach I'll be running a bit late for today's training."
How you wished you could nod. After everything that had happened today, the idea of someone accompanying you to the art centre would comfort you. But Jaehyun's words had shaken your trust in people's kindness.
"No, Eunwoo, thank you, but I'll walk myself today. You should go to practice," you declined.
"Okay then," Eunwoo hesitated before continuing. "I'll text you later."
You gave him a light smile and walked away from him. Glancing around at the surroundings on the route to the art centre, you were torn between going to art class or taking a day off. Your head and heart were at odds with each other, and with each step, your legs felt heavier.
Unable to bear it any longer, you found yourself walking back home, seeking emotional refuge with Haein, the caretaker. As you entered the house and found Haein arranging cushions in the living room, you felt a sense of relief wash over you, knowing you had someone to turn to in time of need.
Tumblr media
A few weeks had passed, and neither Jaehyun nor you had been to the teacher's office since their last encounter. You took Jaehyun's warning about lunch seriously, perhaps too seriously. You found yourself overthinking your interactions with others and making efforts to connect with peers. Amidst all your progress, there was one thing you hadn't changed: her lunchbox. Meanwhile, Jaehyun had resumed having lunch with his teammates as usual.
"Eat up, captain!" Mingyu exclaimed with laughter.
Jaehyun smiled widely as he placed his tray on the desk and joined the rest of the team. It felt good to be back with them. Just as he was settling into his seat, he noticed Eunwoo with Choi Yewon. Jaehyun nudged Mingyu's arm and leaned in to whisper.
"What's going on with Ye Won and Eunwoo?"
"Her? You know, his new target," Mingyu shook his head.
"What? Behind y/n?"
"We all know about his schemes with y/n," Mingyu interjected. "He's just brazen enough to do it openly at school."
They glanced over at Eunwoo and Ye Won, who were clearly intertwined as they conversed. Jaehyun felt uncomfortable, he didn't the thought of you being betrayed like this. They decided to leave them alone and continue their lunch. Jaehyun then began eating ravenously.
"Hey, are you that hungry?" one of his teammates asked, but Jaehyun ignored them completely.
As soon as he finished his lunch, Jaehyun slammed his chopsticks down on the table and hastily announced, before rushing out of the dining hall, leaving his bewildered team behind.
"I'll get going, see you later"
Mingyu surveyed his teammates with frustration. The team was in disarray, with neither the captain nor the potential captain able to focus before their match. Mingyu clenched his chopsticks tightly, feeling the need to intervene.
"Someone needs to stop this," Mingyu declared fiercely.
--
"The weather is too great to have a bad day," you remarked to yourself as you sat down for lunch.
You had grown accustomed to eating alone in this spot, finding comfort in the gentle breeze and open space. It was a solace space for you only. Suddenly, you were interrupted by a familiar voice.
"What are you doing?" Jaehyun's voice came from beside the bench.
You looked up in surprise. "Jaehyun, why are you here?"
"Just... for nothing," he replied, taking a seat next to you with his hands in his jacket pockets.
"It's okay if you don't want to have lunch—"
Jaehyun turned to her, smirking. "Just eat your lunch," he said, cutting you off.
You returned his smirk and began eating, while Jaehyun couldn't help but smile softly at the action. He could sense that you had become more attentive and considerate toward others, and it felt reassuring.
After a few moments of silence, you glanced at Jaehyun, who seemed lost in thought. He looked distracted and anxious, you offered him your favourite juice.
"If you're going to space out for that long, you might as well enjoy a juice," she suggested.
Jaehyun sighed and accepted the juice. As both of you sat together, Jaehyun couldn't help but notice the tranquillity of their surroundings.
"Is this why you always have lunch here?" he asked, curious.
"Yeah, I find it hard to socialize at school, even during recess. So I come here to gather myself before continuing with the day."
"Jaehyun, are you okay?" you asked suddenly, breaking the silence.
He was taken aback by the question, feeling a surge of emotions. He was so close to telling you the truth of Ye Won and Eunwoo. How he wanted to save you from the betrayal.
"No, actually, I have something to tell you,"
Before he could continue, a few people approached the bench. It was Jaehyun's teammates. He quickly stood up, intending to explain the situation, while you were confused, not understanding what was happening as you looked on innocently at them.
"It's not what it looks like-" Jaehyun explained to them.
"So it was you all along," Mingyu pointed at you, ignoring Jaehyun before he continued.
"You were the one messing up with him"
"I'm sorry, who are-",
"You think you can hang out with one of us just because Eunwoo is your friend, right?!"
"This is not what it seems-"
"You getting bolder now. You think people like you now. Can you see people using you just especially Eunwoo? You no special, y/n"
They hurled insults at you, and Jaehyun's attempts to defend her fell on deaf ears. You could sense your eyes got teary, it wasn't even you who approached them in the first place. But Jaehyun was quick to realise your expression, he knew where this was heading. He immediately dragged his teammates away from you and brought them back to the class. They all left you alone on the bench.
Jaehyun was fierce, he walked in front of them in the dash.
"Jaehyun, I did a great job, didn't I? Don't worry, she's not gonna disturb you anymore", his teammate said as he smiled thinking he saved Jaehyun.
Jaehyun turned around to face him, looking at him in the eyes.
"I told you. It's not what it looks like!"
They were all startled at his action, he was really mad this time. People around them were starting to talk and gather around them. It seems like they were getting into a fight any moment now. Jaehyun looked around and gave out a sigh, putting his head down.
"Let's just go to class," he said as he entered his classroom door and closed it shut.
--
Your steps echoed through the empty corridor as you hastened towards the sanctuary of the girls' bathroom. Your heart heavy turns into tears threatening to spill, hiding within the confines of one of the stalls, where you allow yourself to finally release the torrent of emotions that had been building up inside.
As your sobs filled the quiet space, the sound was soon accompanied by the soft murmur of voices outside your stall. Startled, your tears momentarily paused as you strained to listen. Four concerned voices floated through the air, their words a mix of worry and compassion.
"Hey, what's going on in there? Are you okay?", one of the girls asked gently, her voice tinged with genuine concern.
"Maybe she needs a tissue," another voice suggested, practical and helpful.
A third voice chimed in, "I think she might need a pad instead. It sounds like she's crying because of that."
The girls deliberated amongst themselves, each offering suggestions on how best to help you in your time of need. Their voices blended into a comforting chorus of support, reaching your ears and offering a glimmer of hope amidst your despair.
Finally, summoning your courage, you slowly opened the door of the stall, revealing your tear-streaked face to the concerned girls outside. Without hesitation, you begin telling them what had happened over lunch. They enveloped you in a warm embrace, offering comfort and understanding without judgment.
Meanwhile, in the classroom, Jaehyun's anxiety mounted with each passing minute as he anxiously watched the clock. His worry for you gnawed at him, the weight of guilt and regret heavy on his shoulders.
Five minutes have passed.
Ten minutes have passed.
Fifteen minutes have passed.
His eyes peek around the class again as it stops at your desk. You're still not there. Jaehyun begins tapping his feet, his mind too begins to imagine every possibility that could happen to you.
'Is it possible you went back home already?', thought to himself.
Suddenly the front door of the classroom slides open. The whole classroom sways their heads facing away from the blackboard, even the teacher paused his lesson for a moment.
'Shit'
When you finally entered the classroom, your eyes red-rimmed and downcast, Jaehyun's heart sank. He could feel the weight of the whispers and stares directed at you, a tangible manifestation of the repercussions of your actions.
"I'm sorry, teacher. The toilet was really full, and I had to go number two," you explained as you bowed and made your way back to your seat.
--
Throughout the day, the atmosphere crackled with tension, rumors spreading like wildfire and casting a shadow over the basketball team's reputation. Jaehyun's stomach churned with guilt as he grappled with the knowledge that their actions had contributed to your pain.
Later, Coach Lee's voice boomed with disappointment and anger as he addressed the team. Eunwoo, in particular, felt the weight of the coach's words bearing down on him, the burden of leadership heavier than ever before.
As they endured their punishment of running laps under the scorching sun, Eunwoo's eyes caught sight of something on the bench where you usually sat. It was your forgotten lunchbox.
"It's okay Eunwoo, it's not your fault. We respect you as a captain", said his teammates.
Eunwoo looked at them, turning his head towards the back of him.
"He's right. I'm sorry, Eunwoo, everyone", Mingyu apologise.
'If only you held your anger on y/n, things would have been better", replied Ten, another member of the team.
"But I really can't hold it in-"
The teammates started bickering while they carried on with their laps. Eunwoo just shook his head at them, he took a glance again at Jaehyun. He was at the back of all of them. His eyes started to wander around, it stopped at something that caught his eye and made him a bit. It was the bench you sat at during lunch. There was a silver box on top of the sits. Apparently, you had left her lunchbox on the bench. Eunwoo notices it as he quickly looks back at Jaehyun to see if he notices it too. He quickly snaps out to distract him.
"Focus. Run faster! 30 laps to go!", Eunwoo shouted.
--
The next morning, you decide to arrive early at school. You realize you forgot your lunchbox in the classroom the day before and want to retrieve it before the school fills up. After all, the thought of leftover food sitting in your lunchbox is less than appealing.
As you push open the wooden door of the classroom, you notice Jaehyun, Eunwoo, and a few others who have already arrived. Ignoring their presence, you swiftly place your pastel brown bag on a nearby chair and hurry towards the bench on the field, seeming to cope peacefully with the aftermath of the previous day's incident.
"Is it gone already?" you exclaim, noticing the empty bench.
Kneeling down, you begin to search beneath the bench when suddenly, Eunwoo appears.
"Here's your lunchbox. I've already washed it," he says, gesturing towards the lunchbox in front of him.
"Thanks, Eunwoo," you reply gratefully, reaching out to take it.
"How did you know I left it here?"
Eunwoo hesitates, running a hand through his hair before responding, "We happened to train at the field yesterday."
"Well, that makes sense. Thank you, Eunwoo," you say with a smile, returning his gesture.
"I knew you were going to look for it. Let's go back to class," Eunwoo suggests, and you nod in agreement.
--
"Are you feeling better? Yesterday was rough for you," Eunwoo asks as you climb up the stairs together.
You don't react much as he expected, just humming at his question, signaling to him that you're okay now. Eunwoo begins to worry when he sees your response, his expression immediately changing as he steps on another riser above you.
"Y/n, don't take it to heart about what they said yesterday. Some people never think before they speak, they were just not in the right mind when they confronted you."
"It's alright Eunwoo. After all, what they say about me was right anyway. I saw that coming already."
As you reassure him with a soft smile, you demonstrate your adeptness at handling the situation. Growing up with both of your parents working as architects, you have become accustomed to direct and straightforward criticism, albeit often delivered in a gentler manner. You have learned to detach your emotions from such feedback and simply accept it for what it is. Even if some of the statements hold partial truth, you see little point in trying to argue or convince otherwise.
"That's not what I mean. You know I'm here for you because I really want to be, I'm not using you," Eunwoo says, offering a white lie.
"I know, that's why I said it's about me. It's true I depend on you a lot because I have no friends here, and it's harder now that you can't always be there to solve all of my problems," you pause before continuing.
"So just let me think it through for now."
Eunwoo doesn't say anything as he stands still in his position, knowing it's best for you to have some time. Deep down inside, Eunwoo understands that it's not about you needing him to solve everything, but rather his own fear of losing you. You have been there for him, even when he resorted to dirty tricks, and now that you are starting to grow apart from him, he fears being left with nothing.
Just as you are both lost in your thoughts, Jaehyun steps in, approaching the staircase. He immediately makes eye contact with you, filled with regret and the desire to apologize, but his actions speak otherwise.
-- This morning, Jaehyun's feet moved in a dash as he exited the bus, the cold breeze hitting him as he sped up. It was early, Jaehyun had already arrived at school. Without bothering to set down his backpack, he made his way to the school field. Jaehyun knew he had to retrieve the lunchbox before anyone else did. It was the only reason he could use to meet up with you again and apologize. However, to his dismay, the lunchbox was nowhere to be found.
His eyes widened in a fluster as he realised the lunchbox was missing. Without hesitation, he began searching for it. Pulling down the sleeves of his sweater, he warmed his hand with a breath before Eunwoo appeared, holding the lunchbox.
"Once again, you're second, Jaehyun," Eunwoo remarked, lifting the lunchbox with one hand while the other remained in his pocket.
"I never come in second. You're the one always taking what's not yours," Jaehyun retorted.
"Like what? The scholarship?" Eunwoo's words struck a nerve with Jaehyun.
"What do you mean?" Jaehyun asked, caught off guard.
"I know about it, Jaehyun. I'm just surprised you're doing this behind the team," Eunwoo continued, receiving a glare from Jaehyun.
The mention of the scholarship ignited anger within Jaehyun, but he restrained himself before it escalated into a physical confrontation.
"Keep it," Jaehyun said sharply, pushing the lunchbox back towards Eunwoo, causing him to sway his hand.
"I don't need those things to come in first," Jaehyun declared firmly.
He watched Eunwoo laugh at his words as he walked away, leaving him alone on the bench. At that moment, Jaehyun made a decision. He wasn't solely aiming for the scholarship anymore; he was determined to prove that he could surpass Eunwoo in every aspect.
--
During that lunch break, Jaehyun headed off to the library after finishing his meal. If he ever hoped to surpass Eunwoo, he knew it had to start with his mind. As he solemnly made his way to the library, everything felt unfamiliar to him. Awkwardly navigating between the shelves, he eventually found himself in the architecture section. Knowing that Eunwoo's family owned a renowned architecture firm in Seoul, with Eunwoo destined to inherit it, Jaehyun couldn't help but feel the weight of the challenge ahead.
Jaehyun let his gaze wander as he roamed the shelves, unsure of what to do next. Eventually, he selected a book that caught his eye:
"The Architecture of Happiness".
Finding a secluded spot hidden between the shelves, Jaehyun settled down on the floor with eager anticipation, immersing himself in the book.
As he delved deeper into the world of architecture, Jaehyun's passion and understanding grew. He began devouring more architecture books and design compilations, expanding his knowledge. Simultaneously, his dedication to basketball training intensified, with Jaehyun pushing himself harder late into the evening.
One night, after wrapping up the extra training alone, Jaehyun was startled to see you entering the court, still in your school uniform, your fingers fidgeting nervously as you glanced around.
"Y/n?" Jaehyun called out, bending his head slightly to confirm your identity.
"Why are you here?" he inquired as you approached.
"I- is- is Eunwoo still here?"
"Eunwoo left an hour ago. You should leave too," Jaehyun advised.
"I see. I'll head out then," you replied, making your way towards the nearest bus stop. Jaehyun didn't stop you, accompanying you silently to the bus stop. As you both boarded the bus, Jaehyun took a seat behind you.
"You could have just texted him instead of coming here yourself," Jaehyun remarked, leaning forward slightly. You flinched at his words, turning your head to look at him.
"He hasn't been returning my calls or messages lately," you admitted.
Jaehyun stared at you, his expression unreadable. It was clear to him that Eunwoo was spending more time with Ye Won, neglecting you in the process.
"You already knew, didn't you?" Jaehyun asked, subtly referring to Eunwoo's relationship with Ye Won.
You simply nodded in response.
The rest of the bus ride passed in silence. You immediately put on your earphones after your conversation, and Jaehyun followed suit, leaning back in his seat. Glancing at your reflection in the window, Jaehyun tried to gauge your emotions, but your stoic expression gave nothing away.
As the night grew darker outside, you stared blankly into the distance, your mind wrestling with conflicting emotions. Despite the calmness of the night, you found no comfort. Just as you rested your head against the window, Jaehyun pressed the stop button behind you with determination.
"Ahjussi, this is our stop!" he called out.
Tumblr media
Your confusion only deepened as Jaehyun guided you off the bus before your intended stop. You followed him, your brow furrowing as both of you walked down a street adorned with cherry blossom flowers and trees.
"Why are you bringing me here?" you asked, turning your head to look at him.
"No reason," he lied casually. "You might like it here."
Jaehyun spotted a bench nearby, and you surveyed your surroundings. The windy night had transformed the streets into a scene straight out of a dream, with nearly pure white cherry blossoms tinged with the palest pink fluttering gently in the breeze. They seemed like confetti in the air, descending around both of you. You stood still, lifting a hand in front of you as if to catch the falling blossoms. Jaehyun watched you intently from his seat on the bench. Just then, a cherry blossom flower drifted down and landed delicately in your open palm.
"Jaehyun! Did you see that?" you exclaimed excitedly, your eyes sparkling with childlike wonder as you skipped over to him, the flower cradled in your hand.
A warm, tender smile spread across Jaehyun's face, his dimples forming as he watched you.
"Hurry, make a wish," he urged gently.
You immediately placed your other palm next to the first, closing your eyes tightly and bowing your head toward the flower. You made a silent wish in your heart before opening your eyes with a happy sigh, taking a seat next to Jaehyun. He couldn't help but smile softly at your infectious happiness.
"What did you wish for?" he inquired.
"That your life will be as happy as I was when the flower landed in my palm," you replied earnestly.
"You should wish for Eunwoo to reply to you. Why wish for someone else?" Jaehyun teased gently.
"Because the best kind of wish is the one made for others," you grinned back at him before continuing.
"It was tough when things weren't going well at my father's firm. But when Eunwoo's family firm and ours did a project together, we wished for their success, and it happened. It felt like a miracle, Jaehyun," you added, meeting his gaze.
He listened intently, feeling a connection to you as you shared your story. Your vulnerability opened up a new understanding between you both.
"Here," you said, passing the flower to Jaehyun. "Maybe one day, you can make a wish for me."
With that, you stood up from the bench and began to walk away after adjusting your skirt. Jaehyun watched you go, then turned his gaze back to the cherry blossom. The beautiful night filled with cherry blossoms remained warm in your memories as you both returned home, leaving behind a quiet night filled with delightful memories.
--
"Oppa, the school festival is coming up. Are you going to perform again?" a junior asked Jaehyun nervously in the corridor of the school.
"What?" he replied, staring at her blankly, trying to understand what she was talking about.
"Well, you always perform during the school festival. I was wondering if you're going to perform again this year."
"Oh," Jaehyun hesitated. With his father no longer around to practice with, he wasn't considering performing this year.
"I'm sorry, but I don't think I am," he finally answered.
Jaehyun's performances during the school festival always attracted a lot of attention from girls, which made him feel a bit awkward. However, he only paid attention to his friends and basketball team, and now to Eunwoo, whom he aimed to beat.
He entered the classroom after stopping by the library as usual. Closing the door behind him, Jaehyun made his way back to his desk.
"What? You said you went where?" you asked as your classmate who sat in front of her repeated her story.
Jaehyun smirked slightly. He was sure you didn't know about the mall the other girl mentioned.
Tumblr media
Jaehyun went through the architecture section in the library like always, wandering his eyes around the shelves. As his eyes went from one book to another, none of the books caught his attention this afternoon.
He let out a groan as he made his way to a seat. He took out a small drawing pen he held in his pocket, letting his fingers sketch on a sketchbook he had bought. Just then, he heard your and Eunwoo's voices conversing on the shelf next to his table. Making his attention on you both, he turned his head before deciding to ignore you as he went back to sketching.
"Y/n," Jaehyun could hear a voice calling it across the library as it broke the silence.
He lifted his head from the sketchbook, just as he saw you approached by a student council at a shelf next to his table. Immediately hiding his face with his hand by laying his head on his stretched arms across the table, facing the opposite of you both. Making sure he did not get caught but he continued to eavesdrop.
"Hi Jihyo," you said to the student council.
"Oh, hi Eunwoo. Didn't see you there," she said to Eunwoo.
"Do you think you can perform during the school festival? We need someone to start the dance during the evening dance event," she continued.
"I'm sorry-? What dance?"
"The principal is finally allowing us to do a dance event as the closing of the school festival," she explained before she continued.
"We would like to have you and Eunwoo perform as the opening for the dance event. Both of you can perform a slow dance, you guys used to go to the same art elementary school," she convinced you.
Jaehyun on the other side wasn't liking what he heard, he was hoping you to turn down the offer as there was a long pause after the conversation. He gathered his strength to his legs, feeling restless over the eavesdrop. He was ready to leave the library before you could answer. Eunwoo noticed Jaehyun at the table as he stood when he decided to leave the room but your voice stops his actions.
"Okay, I'll do it if Eunwoo is okay with it," you said.
Eunwoo immediately made eye contact with Jaehyun across the shelf.
"Sure, I'll do it," Eunwoo answered, still eyeing Jaehyun.
"For you," turned back his head to face you who has on his shoulder level, looking up at him.
Your lips curved upwards at Eunwoo's actions. You're glad Eunwoo is trying to amend your relationship but your guts are telling you otherwise. You were already drifting apart from each other with Eunwoo sneaking around behind your back with Ye Won. As much as you're hesitating, your actions never did anything to avoid him yet you feel it's hard to push him away.
"Jaehyun," said you as soon you lifted your head, making eye contact with him.
By your tone and your face that brightens up when you see Jaehyun, he can tell you're more interest in him eavesdropping on the conversation than being selected for the dance. But your happiness drops in a split of seconds when Jaehyun just passes by you, ignoring you both and making his way out of the library.
Your heart sank.
It wasn't the first time you received cold shoulders from him so you faced the floor, brushing away the feelings.
"So you wanna start to practise tonight?" Eunwoo asked immediately after he noticed you, you must have felt small.
"Yeah, that sounds great."
"I'll meet you at the court then after training, the court should be big enough for us."
You nodded as you gave a soft smile at him before both of you made your way to the classroom.
--
Jaehyun takes a quick look over at the audience on the benches. Usually, there are a few of their teammates' girlfriends, but today you are sitting casually as you sketch in your sketchbook. He shakes off his wandering thoughts and brings them back to the training. Not long after that, the training ended and the team headed to the changing room. Jaehyun stayed at the court for some personal practicing.
At first, he was just minding his own business when suddenly Eunwoo came to court again. He could see from the corner of his eyes that Eunwoo went to you as you too walked yourself down the court from the bench.
"Are you done yet?" you asked.
"Yeah, let's start practicing."
You nodded.
Jaehyun went back to his training after hearing that and you too started your practice. From time to time, Jaehyun took a glimpse of you both. He was confused by his actions. His eyes couldn't help but lay on you and Eunwoo dancing.
"Just making sure everything okay," he clarifies himself.
He looked at how gracefully you were dancing. Surely it proves a lot that both of you were from a performing arts school. He left a smile as he romanticized the view of you both dancing.
Looking at both of you dancing reminisces back his memories with his grandmother. He used to learn some dances with his grandmother, as she was a dancer. He adores graceful movements when she dances, it softens a part of him. It could make the world around him shut for a moment, the only thing that was bright and warm was the dances.
--
"Mr. Jeong, please have a seat," said a man opening the door for Jaehyun, the sight of Mr. Lee and his couch filled his eyes in the room.
He's been here every now and then, just the sight of Mr. Lee and a few men in suits seems new to him. His guts are telling him something was off but for now, all he could do is casually takes a seat next to the empty beside Mr. Lee at the desk.
"Jaehyun," his couch speaks as Jaehyun sits down and continues his words that leaving a shock on Jaehyun's face, he lifts his face to the couch. It was hard to believe what he heard.
"How about giving the scholarship spot to your teammate Eunwoo?"

|Because I’m obsessed with you ~ Yang Jeongin|
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Theme: Jeongin x Reader
Warnings: IN is a kind of stalker
Word Count: 5,155
Summary: I.N becomes Y/N's friend but his obsession with her is a little bit disturbing
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was a dark September evening. You were coming back home from work tired both mentally and physically. You were living alone in a small neighbourhood. You had moved from your parents before  you started your studies and since then you were living on your own.
The evening was cold and rainy. Not the best weather though. You were shivering because of your thin jacket. You were angry with yourself. Why didn’t you take a thicker jacket? And what made you come back home late in the evening?
You finished your work a few hours ago but had decided to go with your coworkers for some drinks. So that’s why now you were completely annoyed by your previous decision. You hated going back home alone. You felt uneasy then. Most of the time your friendly neighbour, Chan, would come with you, but he was out of the town with some of his friends, visiting his family in Australia.
You sighed heavily. You still had about a thirty minute walk to your small house. At this hour none of the buses were available. There was also no live soul around. Suddenly you heard some noise behind you. You quickened your steps being scared and not able to turn around. But the sound got louder.
‘Aish! Mojo, come here! Don’t scare people!’ You’ve heard. Suddenly you stopped moving and laid down on the pavement. ‘I’m so sorry. Are you okay?’  A quite tall, young man was standing above you. He looked at you concerned. He gave you a hand to help you stand up. ‘I really am sorry. Mojo sometimes, well most of the time to be honest, doesn’t listen to me.’
‘It’s okay, I’m good, thank you.’ You smiled a little and looked at the white Samoyed, Mojo, who caused your fall. ‘So he made me fall?’ You asked laughingly. The dog looked at you back with curious eyes.
‘Yeah… Sorry about that… Woah, you are really beautiful.’ He said quietly more to himself than to you. ‘Ehm… I’m sorry but what’s your name?’ The boy scratched his neck.
‘I’m Y/N. Nice to meet you.’ You introduced yourself. ‘And you are…’
‘I’m Yang Jeongin, but my friends call me IN.’ He winked. ‘Do you live in this neighbourhood? I haven’t seen you here before….’
‘Yes, I live at the end of the street.’ You answered his question, petting Mojo on his head.
‘You shouldn’t be walking here on your own. It’s not safe.’ IN said. ‘Do you want me to walk you home?’
‘I would use some company.’ You smiled. ‘Thank you.’
You both started to walk towards your house. You were looking at him with a corner of your eye from time to time. He was very handsome. His foxy eyes were scanning all the area. His dark brown hair was fluffy and probably soft when touched.
‘So Y/n…’ The boy broke the silence between the two of you. ‘Why are you all alone so late at night?’
‘I was at work and then we went to grab some drinks… Usually Chan, my friend, walks me home, but currently he’s on holiday with some of his friends.’ You replied.
‘Channie hyung?’ He questioned. ‘Aaah so you are the girl he was talking about. That makes sense.’
‘You know him?’ Your brows frowned. You shouldn’t have been surprised though. Chan indeed knew a lot of people. He had this ability to make friends with everyone. You were sure that if he stands in front of the kidnapper, he will definitely befriend him and make him change his way of living.
‘Yes, we have some mutual friends. Also we jog every morning.’ The boy answered, smiling cutely. ‘He mentioned you a few times though.’
‘Oh really? And what did he say?’ You asked curiously.
‘All good things… noona. Can I call you like that?’
‘I don’t know, can you?’ You asked teasingly. ‘You’ve called Chan hyung, so I guess I’m older than you though.’
‘Good.’ He smiled which made his foxy eyes even smaller. In your mind he looked purely cute. ‘Thank you noona.’ The accent at the last word made you goosebumps. You had to admit there was something about this boy. You instantly smiled at him.
‘Thank you for walking me back home.’ You said. ‘To be honest I was really uncertain. I don’t like going back home so late at night.’
‘It’s okay. I can give you my number, so next time when Channie hyung is absent you can call me.’ He proposed.
‘Yeah, that would be great.’ You smiled. ‘And I’m glad that I met you IN. I thought that there was some creepy guy or a murderer…’
‘Too many horror movies, huh?’ He asked laughingly.
‘Yeah, you could say that.’ You admitted. You both stood in front of your front door. You smiled at the boy widely. ‘Thanks again for walking me home IN.’
‘You are welcome noona. So… till the next time? But if you want to meet, just text me.’ He gave you his number, and you gave him yours.
‘See you next time IN, goodnight.’ You smiled and entered your house. He stood for a while in your front yard, but when you completely disappeared from his sighed, he moved towards his house.
For the next few days you were busy with your work and came back home pretty late at night. Every night IN would walk you home with Mojo. You were glad that this decent young man decided to go with you. You felt really good with his company. He replaced Chan’s place though, but you didn’t mind that.
You and IN became closer. You called him all the time. He walked you home in the evening, but during the day you both were chatting. You started to open up more to him. So did he. You both grew some kind of bond and your friendship started to be stronger and stronger.
One night Jeongin couldn't walk you home. He had some projects to do for his studies. So you decided to go by yourself. Surely you could take a cab but you wanted to walk, as usual. The weather wasn’t that bad for late autumn.
Once you were close to your house, you stopped for a while. Something was off and you could sense it. You looked at your house. There were some dirty marks on your porch. Someone had been at your front door. There were a lot of wet footprints there. Also someone had scratched your door and painted a small sign on it.
You immediately felt like your heart started to beat faster out of the fear. Someone marked your house. You were afraid to enter it. You didn’t know what to do so the first thing you could think about was to make a phone call. You grabbed your phone and phoned Chan, but he still was unavailable due to his leave, so the second person you had called was none other like Jeongin. With your heart dropping from your chest you were waiting for him to answer.
‘Hello noona? Is everything alright?’ He asked with a little sleepy voice. You couldn’t blame him, it was pretty late at night.
‘IN… I… Because someone… and…’ You started but you couldn’t say a word.
‘Woah, Y/N calm down. What happened? Do you want me to come over?’ He asked, concerned.
‘Y-yes please… I’m outside my house.’ You answered and your voice stuttered.
‘Why don’t you enter your place?’ He asked with curiosity.
‘I can’t… Innie please, come as fast as you can. PLEASE!’
‘Give me ten minutes at maximum.’ He hung up. You stood on your own for a while observing the whole area around your place. Not able to move you were counting minutes.
After six minutes Jeongin suddenly appeared in front of you. His breathing was rapid and intermittent. He must have been running. He was wearing sweatpants and an oversized hoodie. It was the first time you had seen him with such casual clothes.
‘Y/N? Are you okay? What happened?’ He asked worriedly.
‘Someone had been at my door. They scratched it and left footprints… I don’t want to enter my house.’ You said quickly and with an instant moment you hugged him tightly. ‘I’m sorry for calling for you that late, but I was too scared and…’
‘Shhh, don’t be sorry noona, it’s alright. Have you called the police?’ He asked, concerned.
‘No, no I didn’t… Should I do this?’
‘Yes, you should, but maybe we will enter your house first? It’s a little chilly.’
‘But I’m…’
‘Don’t worry Y/N. I’ll go first.’ He answered and took your keys from your hand. He easily opened the front door and entered it. You were waiting outside. IN turned on the lights and checked all the rooms. Then he came back to you. ‘It’s okay Y/N, no one is there, come inside, okay?’ He grabbed your hand gently and led you to the living room sitting you on the couch. ‘Do you want me to stay a night here? I’ve checked everything, but if you…’
‘Yes Innie, please stay. I don’t want to be here all alone.’ You had answered before he could finish his sentence.
‘Of course… I’ll make you tea,  okay?’ He asked and you nodded. For a while you were left alone, but you couldn’t move. Your whole body was trembling. You didn’t feel safe in your own house. ‘Here, drink it. You will feel better.’ He said handing you a cup of tea. You’d drunk it obediently.
‘Thank you Innie. And I’m sorry for making you come here so late at.. ’  You said with a weak smile.
‘Don’t be noona. I’ve told you I’m at your service.’ He winked and didn’t let you finish a sentence. ‘Okay. It’s pretty late now, so why don’t you go to sleep? I’ll keep my watch.’
‘You are probably right. I should go to sleep… I’ll bring you some blankets and a pillow and…’
‘I’m fine, just tell me where I can find them and I’ll bring them to myself. You go to sleep now.’
‘Okay… goodnight then.’ You said and went straight to your bathroom to change and then to your bedroom.
Knowing that IN is in the room next to yours gave you some kind of peace of mind. You instantly fell on your bed and went to sleep. You felt secure and safe.
What you didn’t know was that in fact you shouldn’t have trusted Jeongin that much as you did. The exact moment when you fell asleep IN put his plan in the action. You might not know that, but he’d been stalking you for a while before you met. He knew about you from Chan who might have told him that you live alone. Since IN saw you first he fell into you and his small obsession grew bigger and bigger. He was dreaming about you, your soft body underneath him. He dreamt about all the things he could do to you.
He put cameras in your house when you weren’t there. The footprints you had seen before were his. He destroyed your alarm so he could freely enter your house whenever he wanted to. And the fun part was that you didn’t have a reason to suspect him at all. He played it well. He stuck to his plan.
And the plan was simple. He just wanted to make you his no matter what. He was going to do everything to get to you somehow. He had thought about you for such a long time. And finally he had a chance to do so, thanks to Chan who was too careless to even think what he was talking about you and to whom.
You woke up the next day to the sun’s rays. You looked outside the window. The day was beautiful. Still cold due to the early time and late autumn, but beautiful. You smiled to yourself and got out of bed. You stretched a little and then went to the kitchen, where you’d found IN. You blinked twice, a little surprised. He was making breakfast.
‘Good morning.’ He smiled widely. ‘How are you feeling Y/N?’
‘I’m good, thank you.’ You smiled back. ‘What are you making?’
‘Ah just some french toast and scrambled eggs. I hope you like it.’
‘Actually, that’s my favourite.’ You sat at the table.
‘That’s good.’ He smiled and put food in front of you. ‘Bon appetit my lady.’ He winked. ‘What are you going to do today since it’s your day off?’
‘I don’t know… Maybe I will go to the movies?’ You answered and looked at him a little confused. ‘Uhm IN? How do you know that I have a day off?’
‘We were talking about it the other day, remember? You've told me that you have a day off today…’
‘Really? I don’t remember…’
‘Well yeah. You’ve been busy recently, so I guess you must have been too tired to remember that.’
‘Yeah, probably you are right…’ You answered back thinking about what he said. You indeed were a little too busy so you could’ve forgotten that you’d told him. ‘Anyway… Do you want to go to the movies with me? If you have time of course…’
‘Yes, I’d love to.’ He smiled. ‘And I know what we can even watch. There’s this new horror movie…’ He started talking about the film you wanted to see.
‘Woah, what a coincidence. I was thinking about this movie before…’ You said, a little confused.
‘You know this saying…  Big brains think the same.’ He said smilingly looking at you. ‘Now get dressed and we can go.’
‘Don’t you want to go back to your place and change?’ You asked.
‘No need to do that. I have some clothes in my backpack.’
‘A backpack? When did you bring that?’ You were confused. Yesterday you didn’t even see that he brought with himself something.
‘Uhm… Yesterday? I came to you with a backpack. Seriously Y/N are you feeling okay?’ He asked, looking at you with worry. ‘I guess you were too scared to notice.’
‘Yeah, I guess you are right…Ehm… I'll go get dressed.’ You said and went to your bedroom. At the same time Jeongin cleaned the kitchen and changed into some other clothes. He indeed had a backpack with himself, but he didn’t take it yesterday. He went for his backpack in the morning when you were peacefully sleeping.
He decided to take you out for a so-called date. He had always been thinking about it. You were one of the prettiest women he’d ever seen. He knew you well even if in person you did meet him a few weeks before.
‘I’m ready!’ You shouted from your room and came towards him. ‘We can go.’ Your bright smile lightened the whole living room, where IN were waiting.
‘Good.’ He smiled. ‘You look pretty noona.’ He winked at you. ‘Come, my car is in front of your house.’
‘A car? But I don’t remember you coming here by car Innie… When did you have time to…?’
‘What? But yesterday when you called me I drove here. Don’t you remember? Maybe the whole situation has a bigger impact on you than we thought?’ He asked, looking at you concerned. Or maybe that's what you had imagined.
But you had a pretty good memory. And you were certain that IN came to your house without a car or a backpack. You remembered that yesterday night he was breathing quickly because he ran to your place. And he wore only sweatpants and a hoodie. Something was off and you could sense that.
You looked at him confused. Did the whole situation make you forget some details? Was your mind playing tricks on you?
‘Are we going?’ He asked, breaking the silence between the two of you.
‘Hm? Ah yeah… Yeah. We can go.’ You grabbed your jeans jacket and keys and went out of your house. You closed the door. The mark that somebody had left the night before still was there. You started to think what did it mean? Did someone mark your house and will rob you? Or maybe someone will try to harm you? You were completely unaware that the person who did this spent the whole night in your house, with your permission.
IN opened the door of his car and you sat in the passenger's seat. Then he leaned over you and fastened your seat belt. The strong smell of his cologne hit you hard. He smelled like a mix of cardamom, caramel and amber. It was an intense fragrance but somehow it fitted him perfectly.
‘Thank you.’ You said to him still fascinated by his scent.
After the movies he took you to the nearby restaurant to eat. You spend a really good time together. He made you forget about the event from the night before. You felt good with his company. You even started to think that it would be nice to become something more with him. Did you perhaps start to grow feelings for him?
‘Do you want me to stay another night at your place?’ His voice snapped you out of your thoughts. The two of you were already in front of your house.
‘Nah, I think I’m good today. But thank you Jeonginnie.’ You smiled at him. ‘And thank you for today’s date. It was great fun.’
‘My pleasure Y/N.’ He smiled back. ‘But if something happens, call me I’ll come.’
‘I will.’ You kissed him on his cheek and went out of his car. He waved to you and waited for you to enter your house. Then he drove back to his place.
You looked at your reflection in the mirror and smiled widely. The date went well. You felt like finally you found someone who understands you. You thought that it would be really nice to go for another date with IN. He was an interesting young man.
You took a quick shower and took off your makeup. After all, the day was good, but you felt a little tired. You looked again at your reflection. The tiredness was clearly visible. The past events and a hectic period at your work have left their mark. But even though you were tired you felt very good.
You were staring at yourself in the mirror when all the lights suddenly went out. You screamed. You hated darkness. Unable to see anything, you started to panic.
Trying to find some source of light or your phone to lighten up your way, you hit yourself on the leg. You cursed under your breath. Finally you found your phone. Unfortunately the battery was nearly dead. You managed somehow with the lowest percentage of battery to find some candles and light them. Then your phone died completely.
You were unable to call or even text IN. You put your candles on the coffee table and sat on the couch. A dim light illuminated the entire room. You could see weak shadows dancing on the walls. Then you suddenly heard a noise of footsteps on your porch.
Your whole body had shivered. You straightened up and looked in the direction where the footsteps were coming from. You decided to stand up and took a pretty heavy vase that was staying on the table as a decor. You were going to hit whoever the person in front of your house was.
You crept up to the door and were about to open it when suddenly the lights came back on. You looked through the peephole but saw no one on the porch. You put the vase aside and opened the door. Nobody was around. The only thing you could see was a small envelope with your name written on it. You took the envelope and looked inside. Instead of a message you saw a pendrive.
You were scared and confused at the same time. Didn’t know what to do, you decided to charge your phone and call IN. When your phone was ready to use you quickly tapped at this name and called him. After three signals he had answered.
‘Hello? Y/Nnie? Are you okay? What happened? Why do you call that late?’ He asked immediately.
‘Innie… can you… can you come here? Please. Someone was at my door and…’ Your voice was trembling. You didn’t realise how scared you were.
‘I’m on my way sweetheart.’ Was the only thing he said before he hung up.
You were waiting for him to come. After fifteen minutes he was at your place, but you had the impression that at least an hour had passed. He entered your house concerned and looked around. When his eyes spotted your silhouette he quickly came to you and hugged you, seeing your expression.
You hugged him tight and hid your face in the crook of his neck. He patted your back gently. After a while of hugging both of you moved away from each other. He looked at you with a worry in his eyes.
‘Are you okay sweetheart? Did they hurt you? What happened?’ He asked.
‘Someone was on my porch. I… I heard some noise after the lights went out. I couldn’t call you earlier because my phone had died. I was so scared, Innie.’ Your voice stuttered.
‘Shhhh, it’s alright, now I’m here so you don’t need to be afraid.’ He said calmly.
‘They… they left this.’ You showed him a black pendrive. ‘It was in the envelope laying on my doormat.’
‘Have you tried to open it?’ He asked and took the pendrive from your hand.
‘No, not yet… I was too afraid.’ You admitted.
‘It’s okay sweetie. Let’s open it and find out what is on it, all right?’
You nodded and gave him your laptop. He gently put the pendrive in and opened the file. Inside it there were plenty of pictures of you. Your half naked body popped out. IN looked at you with great concern. You were too surprised to say anything.
The last thing that was in the file was a short video of you sleeping on the bed. You were shocked.  Some pervert had pictures and even the whole video of you. He must have had hidden cameras all around your house. You looked at IN frightened.
‘Wha-What should I do now?’ You asked quietly. ‘Innie, somebody has my pictures, why?’
‘Well, I don’t know Y/N. Maybe you should think of going somewhere else? You can come to my place if you want to.’ He proposed.
‘But… I need to find those cameras. There is a pervert who has my pics!’ You raised your voice and started to panic.
‘Y/N, sweetheart, calm down please. Let’s go find those cameras first, then we decide what to do, okay?’ He asked.
‘Yes, okay.’ You agreed. The both of you started looking for some hidden cameras but you couldn’t find them. You sat at the bed and sighed heavily. You looked up at him, and asked. ‘How is it even possible that we have searched everywhere and we didn’t find anything? There is footage. Some pervert did have my pics. Why didn't we find any camera here?’
‘I don’t know Y/N. Maybe he took those pics earlier and took cameras when you weren’t home?’
‘I don’t know… maybe… or… INnie? What if he was here when I was sleeping and…’ The panic in your voice couldn’t let you finish the sentence. Suddenly your body started trembling. Your breath was sharp and quick. You felt like you couldn’t breathe. You look at IN, the panic was growing rapidly. ‘IN… I… I-I can’t….’ You couldn’t say anything. The panic attack began to intensify.
In that exact moment IN kept his cool. He looked at you and before you could blink he kissed you. His action made you calm down. You were surprised yet you calmed fully down.
You didn’t want to stop kissing him. His lips were plump and soft. Slow sloppy kisses started to be more and more intense. His method worked though. Your panic attack just has been gone. After a while you pulled away from each other. You looked at him blushing.
‘T-thank you…’ You shyly said and your voice trembled.
‘You are mostly welcome, Y/Nnnie.’ He smiled widely. ‘You good now?’
‘Yes, yes, I’m all right. Thank you. You just saved me.’ You looked at him and smiled a little.
‘Do you want me to stay for another night?’
‘Actually yes. I will feel safer.’ You nodded. ‘Could you… I mean, if you want to… Do you want to cuddle? Tomorrow I will go to the police station…’
‘I agree… Come, take a rest.’
You both went to your bedroom and lied down on the bed. He wrapped his arms around your waist and cuddled you tight. You fell asleep in his arms. The next morning you woke up all alone. Sheets next to you were empty and cold. He must have gone early in the morning.
You sighed. It would be nice to wake up with him next to you. You stood up from your bed and went straight to the bathroom to wash your face and teeth. You had decided last night that you had to go to the police to show them that somebody was secretly filming you. You didn’t feel safe in your own home.
You dressed up and grabbed all the things you needed. Expect the pendrive. It was gone and you couldn’t find it anywhere. You started to panic. The pendrive was nowhere to be seen, but you could swear that you’d left it on the nightstand. You quickly grabbed your cell phone and texted IN, maybe he took it?
You: Hey Innie… Have you seen the pendrive? I cannot find it anywhere.
You sent the message but he didn’t reply. It was weird. Usually he answered back as soon as he got the message. You’ve decided to wait for a while. But the time had passed, and there was still no reply from him. You started to worry. A lot of what ifs… questions formed in your head.
Finally you decided to leave your house.  You couldn’t wait any longer for his reply. With a pendrive or not, you still had to report what had happened the past few days. On the outside you saw some people. Your next door neighbour, Chan, finally came back from his holiday.
‘Hi Chan. Long time no see.’ You greeted him coming to his fence.
‘Oh, hi Y/N.’ He smiled as usual. ‘How have you been?’
‘I was good, a lot had happened though. Anyway, how was your holiday?’ You asked. He looked more relaxed and also more tan than before.
‘It was great visiting Australia and my family for a while. But it is also great to come back home. Something new has happened?’ He asked, looking at you with curiosity in his eyes.
‘Actually a lot of things… I met this guy, IN, he said that you know him. He is so sweet…’
‘Wait, what? You met IN?’ He didn’t let you finish the sentence. ‘But I’m not friends with him. Actually I don’t know him well. Jisung had told me that he’s weird and a creepy man.’
‘What do you mean?’ You asked nervously.
‘Y/N, Yang Jeongin, if we are talking about him, is not a good person. He went to the same school as Jisung and Changbin. Jisung told me that he’d stalked multiple girls in the past and had been arrested a few times. Tell me what had happened during my absence.’
You were confused. IN who you knew was a sweet guy who helped you a lot. He replaced Chan’s place for a while. Of course Chan was only your friend and next door neighbour but IN was someone more. Something was definitely off. You told Chan about all the events that had happened when he wasn’t around. Chan seemed to be more concerned than before.
‘Y/N you should have gone to the police as soon as the first event had happened.’ He finally said. ‘It seems like everything had happened when you were here all alone and when he suddenly appeared. For me it’s kinda suspicious, don’t you think?’
‘Well… I’m confused now Chan.’ You said. ‘Do you think that everything that had happened was his idea?’
‘I don’t know Y/N, but I think it cannot be a coincidence. Do you want to go to the police station and tell them about what you said to me? I can drive…’
‘I wanted to do it anyway…’ You admitted. You and Chan went to his car when suddenly IN’s posture appeared. He looked at you and then at Chan. His expression wasn’t as friendly as you were used to.
‘Hello Y/N… Who is he?’ He asked and it hit you suddenly.
Jeongin said that he and Chan were friends. He also said that Chan had told him about you. And you believed him. Till that moment. You were standing next to Chan, and IN didn’t seem to recognise him. If they were friends, he wouldn't have asked. But they weren’t friends. They weren’t even close.
Chan was right. Everything had happened when Jeongin appeared. You were all alone, Chan was abroad and IN was suddenly in your area. You didn’t think about that earlier, but when you first met him, he knew too much about you. And also he lied about knowing Chan and jogging with him. You knew Chan well, he didn’t like jogging at all. You should have noticed this lie from the start.
But you didn’t. So now you were more than certain that IN was in fact the person by whom you couldn't sleep peacefully at night. His recent behaviour was suspicious. Deep down you knew that something was off about him. But you also fell into him a little so you couldn’t notice all the things.
You didn’t know what to do. You looked at Chan and then you moved your sight to IN. Both men were staring at each other. Chan clenched his fists. He was ready to fight if there was a need. You looked into IN’s eyes and asked.
‘It was you, right? You are the one who left that mark on my door and left footsteps on my porch. You sent the envelope and had pics of me…’
‘Well, you shouldn’t know that, but yes.’ He admitted and smiled at you. There was something in his smile. It wasn’t kind. It was creepy.
‘B-but why? Why did you do that IN?’ You stuttered.
‘Simply, sweetheart.’ He said smiling and tilting his head to the side. His foxy eyes were piercing you. ‘Because I’m obsessed with you.’

(M/n) grew up hearing from people around him that he was different from other alphas, and he always thought that was a good thing, a bright smile on his face whenever he received such a compliment. After all, every alpha he's ever met was egocentric, self-centered, possessive, and toxic, that's why he thought it was a good thing that he was referred to as different.
But one time, when he was only a sixteen-year-old boy, he stopped to see the faces of the people that called him 'different'. Alphas, omegas, and even betas looked at him with disgust and disapproval.
That was the first time (M/n) thought that being different was a bad thing. And for the first time in his life, he felt disgusted at himself for also being an alpha that didn't meet anyone's standards.
In this world, alphas and omegas are naturally attracted to each other, their pheromones being responsible for this, making (M/n) feel as if his life as an alpha had already been decided by the universe, his destiny already decided, telling him to only fuck and procreate with omegas.
And he hated the feeling of wanting to follow through with that animal instinct. To claim an omega as his and impregnate them, over and over again, marking their body so everyone would know they were already taken.
On days like those, when his rut was dangerously close, he would lock himself in his room, beating himself up and the world for making him an alpha.
"Why couldn't I haven't been born as a beta...?" His whisper would vanish into thin air, not reaching anyone's ears but his, and he would go back to holding himself back until his rut was over. His senses were overly sensitive to everything, noise, taste... smell.
He lived like that for a few years, receiving judging stares from people who disliked his personality, telling him that whatever he did wasn't proper for an alpha like him, and he had enough.
Heading to the nearest pharmacy, (M/n) bought his first box of scent blockers. Translucent patches he had to stick over the scent glands on his neck, right below his ear, and he kept living on as if he wasn't an alpha, not really correcting anyone who assumed he was a beta.
It's better this way, he would always say, convincing himself that it didn't affect nor hurt him in any way.
_____
"Why didn't you tell me you were looking for a place to move in?" Jisung's voice sounded absurdly loud in his ear, making him frown as he leaned as far away as he could while having his best friend's arm around his shoulder.
"I didn't wanna bother you, hyung," Jisung dismissed his words with a sway of his hand, quietly muttering an 'aish~'.
"I thought I told you that the boys and I need a new roommate," (M/n) frowned and looked at the omega still hanging onto him.
"What happened to Hyunjin?" Finally releasing him, Jisung sat across from him in the café they decided to meet up for some lunch.
Grabbing the cupcake on (M/n)'s plate, Jisung took a bit out of it, its frosting covering his upper lip and the tip of his nose, "He decided to live with his boyfriend or something like that," picking up the napkin under the now empty plate, (M/n) lifted his hand up to wipe Jisung's frosting stained lip and nose, making the male smile happily at his sweet gesture.
The instinct told (M/n) to take care of omegas, and Jisung was one, and he was pretty careless so it was something normal to him at this point.
"You would be living with me, Changbin, and Chan, wouldn't that be awesome?"
(M/n) didn't know much about Jisung's roommates, the only one he knew kinda well was Hyunjin, but him being two years younger than his best friend made it difficult to know Jisung's friends well enough. Changbin is a senior, Hyunjin and Jisung are juniors while (M/n) had barely started the year, making him a freshman. Now Chan was a different story, he knew only the man because of some photos Jisung showed him, the man wasn't a big fan of pictures but there were those rare occasions.
Chan had already graduated two years ago, and he worked in the music industry alongside Changbin and Jisung, forming the trio, 3RACHA. (M/n) heard a few of their songs, and he liked them, a lot, going as far as to ask Jisung for the file once the track was finished. The one single important thing that he knew about Chan, was that he was an omega.
And it may be rare however not impossible for an omega to be quite big and muscular, and that's exactly what Chan is. Or that's what Jisung always said about him. (M/n) wouldn't know, he doesn't know the male and he's usually wearing baggy, loose clothing so is not noticeable at all.
"So, what do you say?" And (M/n) remembered what they had been talking about, unwillingly on his part.
He doubted for a few seconds, wondering how he would feel if suddenly a stranger came to live in with him, "I don't know, hyung, I don't really know you're friends-" the male took another bite of the cupcake he stole.
"Not an excuse," (M/n) sighed at that and somehow came up with something to make the omega drop the subject.
"How about I go to your house, and meet your roomies? Then we can decide how everyone feels about it, okay?" Pondering (M/n)'s decision, he shrugged and nodded once.
"I already know I want you as my roommate anyway, and Changbin hyung will like you too," His words did very little effort in helping (M/n), after all, Jisung didn't say a thing about the male he was worried about.
Chan.
_____
After unsuccessfully trying to avoid Jisung, (M/n) ended up getting dragged all the way to the apartment he shared with his friends. He had been coming up with excuses to not go there for the past two days, but Jisung was smarter than he looks, and he ambushed (M/n) when he was walking out of his last class.
"I don't care if you have plans today, you're coming with me," and (M/n) realized he shouldn't have ignored his gut feeling telling him Jisung was planning something when he didn't even try to persuade him earlier in the day.
I can't believe I actually thought he gave up... He lamented to himself while letting himself get dragged all the way to his best friend's apartment. It was a good walking distance, he noticed, unlike the train he had to ride for an hour to get to college.
On the way upstairs to the second floor, Jisung mentioned that Changbin was the only one in the apartment since he only had morning classes and Chan went out, something about his job and going grocery shopping. And even if he knew the only other omega wasn't in the apartment, (M/n) knew his scent must be lingering inside, so before Jisung opened the front door he took a deep breath and followed his best friend inside.
Gently pressing on the scent blockers on his neck, (M/n) walked in and followed Jisung, looking around the place, seeing a few windows opened, probably to not make him feel suffocated by the strong scents of two omegas and the mild scent of a beta. At least he knew his alpha scent wasn't gonna last around for long once he leaves.
Wary of the place he was in, (M/n) kept his hands in front of him, holding his right wrist with his left hand, making sure not to take deep breaths too often.
Hearing a door opening, (M/n) peeled over Jisung's shoulder, seeing a rather short yet muscular man walk out of a room. That's Seo Changbin, (M/n) has seen him around a couple of times, and they have made small talk on a few occasions, but he didn't know much about the male.
"Oh, (M/n), I've been waiting for you, man! Jisungie said he was gonna bring you over but he never did," Changbin patted his shoulder hard, maybe a little too hard, and (M/n) had to hide his pained expression the moment he remembered Changbin not only lifts weights, but he also does boxing.
"I've been... busy with stuff," (M/n) ignored the look Jisung sent at him, that look that said 'you were obviously avoiding this, don't lie', but he didn't comment on his blatant lie.
They talked for a few minutes, mostly Changbin did and both males got to know a little bit more about each other. And Jisung came into the living, finishing what seemed to be a chocolate bar, neither realized that he had gone to the kitchen in the first place.
"Do you know when Chan hyung will be back?" And right before Changbin could answer Jisung's question, the front door opened, and an incredibly captivating scent reached (M/n)'s nose.
He didn't really feel Chan's scent before, especially with how subtle it was, but now that he was back in the apartment he felt it as if he was standing right next to him, presenting his neck at him, letting him smell him for as long as he wanted.
From where he was standing, (M/n) saw him as he closed the door and locked it, turning around with his eyes down on his phone, the same hand that held the keys. A backpack hanging off his shoulder and a grocery bag in his hand.
And suddenly, he stopped abruptly before taking another step forward, his nose twitching slightly as he frowned, his nose caught the scent of another person. Not quite sure what they were since it was very weak and subtle.
He looked up and made eye contact with (M/n), who stared at the floor, slightly embarrassed at being caught staring so shamelessly. Jisung ran at Chan and brought him further into the living room, and seeing them standing next to each other, (M/n) noticed that Chan was the tallest of the three.
Wrapping his arm around Chan, Jisung extended his arm in (M/n)'s direction, who kept shyly looking somewhere else that wasn't Chan's intense stare, "Hyung, this is (M/n)~!" Chan seemed confused at Jisung's words, and he turned his head to look at him.
"Your alpha friend?" The way Chan said the word 'alpha' made (M/n) frown slightly, keeping his head down as he felt hurt by the tone of a complete stranger. He could already tell Chan didn't want him there.
(M/n) heard Jisung sighing and after looking up, he saw his friend sending the older male a disappointed look, "Hey, (M/n) is not like all those brainless alphas we've met, he's actually kind and thoughtful," (M/n) saw how Chan seemed to be skeptical about that, but he let out a short sigh.
"Is he our new roommate?" (M/n) only shook his head a couple of times, giving a negative response to the question.
"I'm not-"
"That's the plan~!" Rudely interrupted by Jisung, (M/n) looked at his friend with a tired look.
"Jisung," he said with a neutral tone of voice, making the male look at him with a wide smile, but (M/n) proceeded with his response, "I'm not sure, I don't wanna rush things and make you guys uncomfortable," even though it seems like I already did, he couldn't help but comment to himself, the clear look of disgust and disapproval on Chan's face, the same expression that made him hate being an alpha.
Changbin realized (M/n)'s mood and he walked closer to him, patting his shoulder again, only more gently this time.
"Well, I don't mind you living here, you're kinda cool," with those words muttered, Changbin beckoned Chan over to them, "You'll like him once you get to know him, hyung."
Frowning unsure, Chan took a deep breath and sat his backpack on the couch before heading to the kitchen, most likely to place the groceries away.
"Fine."
_____
For the next hour and a half, (M/n) was awkwardly sitting between Changbin and Jisung, rarely getting into a conversation with Chan, who still seemed a little unsure about getting close to him, physically and personally.
And with that, (M/n) couldn't help but let that small voice wonder why such a beautiful omega reacted that way once he learned he was an alpha, the instinct telling him to protect and reassure him of whatever uncertainty he may have, and (M/n) mentally beat himself over for that.
That was the same behavior other alphas had, thinking that they had to protect omegas because they were weaker, and inferior to them, and (M/n) didn't like that.
In the end, not wanting to make things even more awkward and uncomfortable for Chan, (M/n) said goodbye, all the while keeping his distance from the older omega and he left the apartment, mentally preparing himself for the long journey back to his house.
Looking out the train window, he wondered if he should become their roommate or just keep living in his parents' house, he couldn't bear knowing he would make Chan feel uncomfortable in his own house.
_____
For the following week, Jisung kept bothering him every chance he got, finding him every break to ask him if he already decided to move in with them, and at some point, on an impulse to make the male finally shut up, (M/n) accepted.
He was worried about Chan the most. He hasn't been able to stop thinking about the omega, seemingly liking him more and more, despite only seeing him in person once.
He was especially worried since it seemed he liked Chan more than Chan seemed to like him, and he was scared of what could happen with their cohabitation.
(M/n) didn't voice his worries and concerns, and like that, he moved in a few days later.
But if (M/n) would've known that living in that apartment was gonna make him act like those alphas he so deeply despised... he would've refused without a doubt.

"So.. have you adjusted to the city life again?" Jimin asked, taking a sip from his cold drink. The fan blowing in the corner of the bar not doing much against the heat.
Yoongi hummed, glancing at him over the edge of his glass as he took a sip as well. Uncertain of how to answer such a banal but also difficult question. Had he?
"Not fully yet," he eventually sighed, deciding being honest with his friend. "And I guess the timing I picked doesn't make it easier."
It wasn't a secret that Yoongi didn't like temperatures above 25°C. Making him regret leaving the city at the end of winter instead of the beginning of summer.
"Aish, Yoongi, you're too dramatic," his younger friend laughed out, patting his shoulder over the table. "Summertime is the best time after all!"
"You only say that 'cause everyone's showing more skin with these temperatures.." Yoongi mumbled with a teasing smirk, causing Jimin to gasp.
"That's what you say." His eyes frantically looking around the place to make sure no one had heard him, continuing purposely in a louder tone then, "Remember, I'm not single anymore and soon becoming a dad. I'm not looking at other women anymore!"
"Save you breath," Arabella's voice suddenly rang from behind them, making Jimin tense up.  And he turned around with a wide, innocent smile. "Bella-baby!"
She cocked a brow at him before sitting dpwn next to him. Pushing him with her hips to scoot a bit further into the booth. "Sorry for taking longer. Everyone's out with that weather.." she groaned. She leaned over the cool tabletop then, spreading her arms over it since it was a nice contrast to the heat outside.
Jimin poked her tired face with slight concern. "Aw, love, should I get you something cool to drink?"
"Yes, please," she whined, pouting at Jimin who was pouting back at her.
"Alright, give me a sec."
And with that he immediately got up and headed to the bar counter.
Arabella blinked an eye open then, smirking at Yoongi. "Aw, Yoongs, you must be dying right now," she giggled and sat up straight again. Pointing at the sweat beats on his forehead. He rolled his eyes, chuckling lightly . "A little."
"I know you'd prefer being on the mountains right now, but I'm actually glad you're back," she smiled at him before her brows knitted together. Taking a closer look on him. "Wait.."
"W-what?" he asked, puzzled about the sudden change in her demeanor.
"Your cheeks!" She reached over the table, pinching one of the said cheeks. Making him whine and gently slapping her hand away. "They're gone! Your chubby cheeks are gone!" She sunk back with a sulky expession and folded arms. "I liked your chubby cheeks. Didn't you eat enough in that temple you were staying at?"
His lips folded into a straight line. "I-I did."
"What did you?"
Jimin had returned, confused about what was going on that made his girlfriend look so upset. He sat a glass of cold ice tea in front of her before taking his previous seat. Sliding his arm around her shoulders.
"Ate enough. She thinks my cheeks aren't chubby anymore.." The older guy laughed under his breath, finding it somewhat ironic how much she cared about his eating habits. Who would have thought years back that a day like this would ever come. However, Yoongi's answer only confused Jimin more.
Arabella's pout grew as she glanced at him. "You need to eat more then, I want the chubby cheeks back."
"Bella, let the man eat as much as he wants," Jimin squeazed her shoulder with a giggle. He faced Yoongi then with an apologetic smile. "She suddenly wants to feed everyone and everything and gets obsessed with chubby things. I don't know where this comes from."
Well, he could think of a reason. But he thought those motherly insticts would only show up once she actually became a mother and not already during the pregnancy. Especially since the baby bump only now started showing up.
Yoongi waved his hand though, being actually amused by this side of Arabella. In the past she'd often tried to hide her caring side, acting indifferent and cool, so it was nice that she let her soft side out more now. Whether because of her hormones or because of her calmer life. She had changed and wasn't the cunning thief anymore who simply took advantage of his love-blind friend.
Yeah, he and Arabella got along much better now over the years.
So when Arabella and Jimin had decided to retire from thievery when finding out she was pregnant half a year ago, Yoongi and also Taehyung were more than supportive.
Especially since they weren't as young anymore as they'd been when first starting and besides, Taehyung wanted to finally settle down with Cassandra as well. And considering Yoongi hadn't started off as a thief from a young age like those two, only stumbling into that life when meeting them, he didn't mind much going back to only sword fighting.
Although one thing wasn't completely true: that Jimin and Arabella had completely retired from it.
"Oh, by the way," Yoongi said then, remembering something. A knowing smirk spreading over his features. "How was your weekend trip to the capital?"
Both Jimin and Arabella's heads shot up. Eyeing him suspiciously. "Who said we were there?"
Yoongi shrugged, folding his arms on the table and leaned over. "The news. What was it again this time? A golden necklace, if I remember correctly?"
"Shhh.." Arabella pressed a finger to her lips, looking around. Luckily the place was sparely visited during this hour.
Yoongi chuckled and sat back. "So it really was you two, huh?"
Jimin offered him a cocky grin. "You know.. people shouldn't underestimate a pregnant woman. Makes it even easier to distract and fool them."
Shaking his head, the older guy laughed under his breath. "Isn't it morally reprehensible to use a fetus for your steals?"
"Maybe, but I'm not gonna sit there for nine months and do nothing," Arabella huffed, giggling, "So it has to come along whether it wants to or not."
Perhaps it was easier for him and Taehyung to completely leave that life back since they hadn't been the actual thieves, rather the assistants. The real thieves had always been Jimin and Arabella.
"I mean, you do you," Yoongi shrugged, "I'm just glad you guys do well."
"Aww, that's so nice," Arabella cooed and pinched his cheek again. Earning another groan from him.
"Yoongi's always been the biggest softie among us," Jimin told her, grinning at the older guy then, "He just didn't like showing it so much. Isn't that right?"
"Yeah, whatever," Yoongi mumbled and hid his smile behind his glass, taking a larger gulp. The ice cubes having almost melted by now.
Jimin sighed then. "I'm still sorry I bailed on you guys last weekend for that heist though."
Yoongi shrugged, having already assured him it was fine since he was quite understanding in that aspect. "Seriously, it's alright. Me and Taehyung had a good time. And when he left, I sat a little longer, walked into someone I knew so we somewhat hung out together.. it's not like I was a total loner just because you couldn't make it and Taehyungie had to leave earlier."
He sat his glass down, puzzled to see his two friends staring at him with wide eyes. Making him frown. "What?"
"You met someone?"
His eyes grew wide at Jimin's question, only now registering his own words. "An.. acquaintance."
"And who is she?"
Yoongi swallowed, seeing both grinning at him now. "Who said it's a 'she'?"
"Your eyes sparkled a little when mentioning it."
Jimin and his ability to analyse everyone and look right through them again. Practical in heists, unbelievably annoying in their friendship.
"Fine, yeah, it was a girl I helped out a week earlier," he shrugged, sounding as non-chalantly as possible since the two made a bigger deal out of it than it was, "I ran into her again last weekend and guess, helped her out again. That's it."
Jimin nodded, another question popping up in his mind. He restrained himself from asking it though. So it was even more surprising when Arabella said it out loud instead. "Is she hot?"
The two men looked at her astonished, causing her to frown puzzled. "What? I'm just curious 'cause he never gets involved with anyone. At least I've never seen him going out with anyone. That's why I assume she must be hot."
"First of all," Yoongi said then, coughing, "My private life is no one's business."
Arabella rolled her eyes at this.
"Second of all, we didn't go out. We randomly walked into each other." Well, technically he'd run after her, but those were just minor details they didn't have to know. "And third of all -" He paused abruptly, realising he didn't know hot to continue. However, there wasn't a reason to hold back and not simply admit it. "Yeah, she's hot. But that doesn't matter. I'd have helped her either way."
"I know for a fact that you would," Jimin nodded, knowing Yoongi long and well enough to know he'd have helped anyone. Not just hot women in need. "So when are you meeting her again?"
Yoongi slowly began getting fed up with this interrogation. "Guys!" he sharply said, interrupting them from proceeding with their questions with a short slam on the tabletop. "Yeah, I found her.. intriguing and I guess she also, I don't know, liked me. But she might've left the city by now so there's no point for you to fantasize."
The couple sank into their seats, seemingly disappointed hearing it, which only confused him more to why they were so invested in his private life. Then again, these two had always been the nosiest one of his friends. Maybe Cassandra also a little, sometimes at least.
He really missed Taehyung right now.
"But she might still be here right?" Arabella asked then, her face lightning up at the small hope, "Text or call her to find out."
Yoongi scoffed, arching a brow at her. "Really?"
"Yeah, obviously! It's been a few days, so it wouldn't seem clingy. Do it!"
Jimin shrugged, emptying his drink. "Bella's right, it could be worth a shot."
He couldn't argue with that and it'd be a lie if he said he hadn't already thought of texting her multiple times these past days. Still, he was contemplating whether doing so would be a good idea. Sure, they had all retired from thievery and tried living a normal life there - at least most of them - but that didn't change the fact that outside of Taiwan he was a wanted criminal. Uncertain if getting involved with anyone, even if it ended up as just a mere fling, would be a wise. Especially since she seemed to have her own issues going on. Issues bigger than herself.
"C'mon, what are you waiting for?"
He groaned annoyed, eventually giving into her pleads and took his phone out. Not expecting much when typing a simple text to her. Soyeon having most likely left town anyway.
yoongi (6:53pm): hey
He put the phone down again. Not expecting much to come out of this until his phone suddenly vibrated. Taking all three off-guard. Someone was calling him.
"Answer! What are you waiting for!"
"Uhm." He quickly grabbed it and stood up. Rushing outside to accept it.
"Hello?"
"Yoongi?"
His lips tucked into a smile when hearing her voice. "Hey."
He heard a relieved sigh on the other phone line then.
"I'm so sorry. I know you said if something happens I could call but.. I wasn't sure if you'd actually meant it and.. and.."
Her words made him instantly frown. And he noticed her distressed tone. Her voice shaky and also hushed, as if she tried not to be heard by anyone. His fingers tightening around the device as a hot flash spread inside him. "Soyeon, what happened? Where are you?"
She dragged a breath. "Okay, this might sound weird but.. I'm in the bathroom stall of a restaurant somewhere downtown, near the main square. But I don't know which one."
"You.. seriously?"
"Yeah.." she laughed out weakly, recognising the absurdity of the situation. "And I can't go out and have someone see me like this. So I'm kinda stuck here.."
"Okay, I'll come and pick you up."
She inhaled sharply. "Really?"
"Yeah, just might take some time to find you.." he chuckled and she couldn't help but smile at the sound of his laugh. Relieved that he didn't call her crazy and instantly hung up on her instead.
"I'll be waiting. It's not like I got anywhere else to go.."
"Good, just stay where you are."
He ended the call, looking up at the cloudless sky. He sighed.
Just what did she get herself into again?

"Soyeon?"
It was the fifth restaurant bathroom he checked out by now. He had gone to more, but most didn't have stalls, which limited the possible places. Walking into women's restrooms hadn't been a pleasant way to pass time. Only earning him weird looks and yells.
"Yeah?" he heard a voice squeak from behind a locked door and he exhaled. Finally having found her.
He walked up to the stall and knocked. The clicking of the doorknob being turned echoing against the tiles. The door cracked open then, Soyeon peeking from behind it, covering half of her face.
"Hey," she smiled awkwardly, "So you managed finding me after all."
"I said I would, didn't I?" Noticing her hesitating from coming out, his smile faded. "Is everything okay?"
"Uhm yeah, just.." Her lips folded with an insecure look. Making him frown. He lightly pushed the door then to see what was going on. His breath hitching.
Her arms and hands were covered in scratches and grazes and there was an incised wound on her forehead, a thin trail of blood lining the side of her face.
"Soyeon, what the fck happened? You're bleeding."
"I'm not bleeding," she retorted casually, feeling suddenly small under his appalled stare. "It's just a small cut."
"Small? That definitely needs stitches."
She pressed her jaw together and looked away. She didn't like being vulnerable and weak. She didn't like asking others for help. However, there she was having this guy help her for a third time now. A guy she barely knew and found insanely attractive. Feeling embarrassed would be an understatement.
"It's okay, really. I can take care of that later," she said then, playing her insecurity off.  She couldn't go to the hospital with that and risk them asking questions and call the police. "I just need a way to get past the people outside in the restaurant. They'd probably freak and call the cops if they saw me like this."
"Maybe calling the cops wouldn't be a bad idea," he said, his brown eyes carrying deep concern. Making her swallow hard. Shaking her head, she tried playing it off with a laugh. "No, it's okay. Just help me get out, that's the last favour I'm gonna ask you today. I promise."
He huffed, finding her behaviour irrational, although somewhere understandable. His friends and him hadn't been much better in the past either. So he dragged a sigh, his expression softening. "How did you even get inside here in the first place?"
She pointed at the small window at the back. "I saw it being open when I ran into the back alley. But while hiding here, an employee came and locked it with a key, so I couldn't leave from there again."
He nodded understanding. "Alright, get back inside there and wait. I'll look for something to cover you up."
With a pout she waddled back into the stall, locking it behind her.
As promised, Yoongi returned not too long after. Holding a cardigan and a bucket hat he had bought from a shop near by.
He put the hat on her head and lightly pulled it down, enough to cover the ugly cut. Soyeon blushed under the close proximity, even if it hadn't been the first time. He handed her the cardigan then and while she slid it over her body, he took some paper towels and wetted them at the sink. He turned around then, biting back a laugh at how adorable she looked in that big cardigan. Sleeves way too long for her arms, hanging losely. He coughed instead as it'd have been highly unfitting to laugh considering the situation. Still, she noticed. "What?"
"Nothing, you just look kinda cute," he shrugged, ignoring her widening eyes as he wiped the blood from the side of her face with the paper towel. He tossed it into the bin then, facing her again. "Ready?"
"Y-yes, I think so."
He grabbed her hand over the sleeve then and gently tucked her out of the restrooms. Peeking out at the restaurant first, making sure no one was looking at their direction.
The restaurant was quite crowded, which wasn't necessarily a bad thing, Yoongi knew from experience. More people meant they'd stand out less and wouldn't receive much attention.
"Alright, avoid any eye-contact and just walk casually. Got it?"
She nodded quickly and they walked out into the filled space. Waiters rushing around, taking orders or serving tables. Guests arriving or leaving. Loud chatter filling the atmosphere. They passed by everything and in no time reached the entrance and stepped out. Breathing in the warm evening air.
They continued the same way outside as well. Casual walk, no eye-contact as he lrd her to his car a few blocks away. Still holding her hand firmly. As if he wanted to assure her that everything was alright. Only when he unlocked the vehicle, he let go of her. Leaving a tingling feeling on her skin. She followed him inside then, letting out a long breath.
"Seriously, thank you so much. I owe you.. again." She pulled the hat off and lowered the sun visor, taking a better look on the cut in the small mirror, gasping lightly. It was much bigger than she thought. She hadn't even noticed the dryed blood along her temple. Traces of it still there as he had missed to clean everything. "I'll buy you all the drinks you want, I swear."
Yoongi didn't reply though. His eyes laying on her with lasting worry as she touched the wound, flinching. He shook his head then as an old memory crept back into his mind. And he started the engine, driving off.
When they reached a red light, he stopped and reached for his phone in his pocket. Calling a number and waiting for the dial tone to end.
"Yeh." Taehyung's way of answering the phone making him almost laugh out.
"Hey, is Cas home?"
"Uhm, yeah why?"
"Can I talk to her for a second?" He side-eyed Soyeon, making sure she didn't suspect anything. He heard shuffling on the other end of the line and Taehyung's muffled voice. Being replaced by a soft female one seconds later. "Hey, what's up?"
He sighed. He really hated asking her for that favour, feeling like he'd take advantage of her. He didn't have much of a choice though. And besides, he knew Cassandra would most likely feel comically offended if he didn't come to her with this.
"I could need your skills. I know you aren't our personal doctor, but I got this.. friend, and she can't go to the hospital with that."
Soyeon's head instantly snapped at his direction when hearing that. "Yoongi, I said it's okay."
He ignored her, continuing speaking to Taehyung's wife.
"Oh, Yoongs, what happened?" Cassandra asked worried.
"It's nothing major, just.. a cut." The light turned green and he drove again. Hearing Cassandra sighing on the other phone line. "Yes, of course, bring them over and I'll take a look."
"Thank you, Cas. I owe you."
"You know exactly you don't," she giggled, "See you soon."
Yoongi ignored Soyeon's angry glare when he hung up. And she shook her head in disbelief.
"You don't need to worry for me."
"Well, but I do," he deadpanned, glancing at her briefly before focusing back on the road, "And you're being an idiot right now. This wound might get infected or leave a scar. It's better to let my friend take care of it, she's a doctor."
Her lips parted, staring at him speechlessly. Never had someone called her an idiot while being this concerned about her at the same time. Usually she'd have yelled at someone for patronising her like this. But she didn't this time. She simply sat back silently. Glancing at the cut in the side-mirror. Maybe he wasn't wrong after all.
"So.." he began then, carefully not to provoke her as his eyes were calmly laying on the road, "Will you tell me how you ended up with those grazes and cuts?"
She heaved a sigh, her eyes wandering outside at the passing buildings. "Guess you deserve an explanation."
"I think so, too."
"Long story short, these jerks showed up in front of my door and the only way to escape was to climb from my balcony to the neighbour's. They weren't home though, which was probably better as they'd have probably thought I was insane. But this led me to smash their glass door and.. yeah."
"Pretty adventurous."
She shrugged. "Call it survival instincts."
"And will you now also tell me why they're after you in the first place?" he smirked.
"Nope," she grinned mischieviously, making him raise a brow at her.
"No?"
"Mhm, maybe later."
He laughed dryly, shaking his head while turning to another street.
She was indeed quite a mystery.

Other idea! This time, it’s the reader that’s a grumpy one. Distrusting and pretty quite unless required to speak. Like Nacho, but no body who they really care enough about to be blackmailed for. So imagine Lalo comes in, all smiles with a gun strapped to his belt, and he sees this person that’s nothing but a name and a face. He just has to know more.
one of my fav mutuals + my fav request?? am i dreaming?????
"this the place?" you heard a voice ring out from ahead of you, not looking away from the man you were making an exchange with, still sifting through the wad of cash in your hand. you cleared your throat, not even glancing up. most likely a customer, you presumed, tying a rubber band around the stack and shooing domingo off, only offering a slight softness in your eyes as he walked away.
"tú, ¿este es el lugar?" the mysterious man had made his way in front of you, snapping in front of your eye level. your head slowly made its way up, eyeballing the odd man in front of you. decked out in a maroon patterned t-shirt, paired with blue loafers. hm. "excuse me?" you asked, voice gruff. he tilted his head, a wide grin building on his face. "you know- the place." "no i don't." "yes you do." your eyes were now boring into the gun on his belt, then at the flashy design on his buckle. "you eyeballin' me, amigo?" he asked with a glint in his eye and a tongue in his cheek, expecting you to at least respond.
when you just got your stuff together with a harsh sigh, his smile dropped. okay, what the hell was your problem? you were quick, not wanting to waste anymore time with unprofessionalism. you walked towards the kitchen, casually grabbing a drink before making your way to the door, this man still standing in the same place. he just couldn't stop looking at you. you walked with a sense of carelessness, but you almost seemed like you cared too much. interesting.
his eyes glimmered. "aish, so sensitive." his tone was teasing, littered with a playfulness. a smile you could hear in his voice. you shot a glare as you looked him in the eyes for the first time. "jeez, jeez. just joking." he shrugged. his grin returned, even bigger than before. you were unimpressed, to say the least. he sat down in front of the chair he was standing in front of early, posture welcoming and unafraid.
"come on, sit." he said, hand tucked under his chin as he leaned towards you, watching you take a swig of your drink. "why?" was all you asked. "think we got off on the wrong foot." he snapped, pointing at the chair in front of him. reluctantly, you brought yourself back to the seat, crossing one leg over the other as you leaned as far away from him as possible. "i'm eduardo. eduardo salamanca." your eyes shot up at the mention of his last name, suddenly sitting right up. you went to speak but you were interrupted. "ah ah- i know who you are." he smirked, putting his hand on a salt shaker before crossing his hands below his stomach, twiddling his fingers. "you can call me lalo." he held his hand out.
you rose an eyebrow. he simply gestured to his hand, nodding at you. you reached forward, gripping his hand with an odd sense of strength he wasn't expecting from you. "you know-" he started, pulling his hand away and looking down for a quick moment. "you're very professional. respeto." his smile never gave out. you clasped both of your hands under your chin, squinting your eyes as if to read deeper into the man, lalo, in front of you. "thanks." you grumbled. "so!" he started, hand now going to the pepper shaker as he tossed it around from hand to hand. "i heard that you've taken over since my tío became ill, that true?" he questioned, shaking some pepper out onto his finger and licking it. your eyes widened at this, unable to figure the enigma in front of you out.
"yeah. that's true." you said, taking a deep breath and rolling your head around, neck popping. "ahhh, you're doing well." he giggled, pointing and pretending to toast with the pepper shaker. you just couldn't believe this man was a salamanca. you felt like you were stuck in a dream. "you're probably wondering what i'm doing here." he started, waiting for your gentle nod. "well.... my tío thought there needed to be a little bit more supervision." you raised your eyebrows, crossing your arms in front of you as a sign of defense. "ay, ay - nothing like that. i said you were doing good! i meant it!" he chuckled, dying down when you kept your stance, clenching your jaw. "it's just-" he leaned forward, voice dropping to a whisper as if the restaurant wasn't empty besides the music playing quietly in the background. "things are getting pretty hot right now, you know?" he was suspiciously close to your face. "yeah, i know."
"so, i'm here to help!" he said, pulling away after the intense eye contact, eyes crinkling back up into a smile. you were confused, but you didn't crack. he couldn't figure you out to save his life. he loved it. "what does that mean?" you asked, a sense of what he presumed to be annoyance in your tone. "oh- you don't like me?" he started to frown, in a clownish way. "i don't know you well enough to make any decisions about your character right now. can you please answer my question?" your tone was cold, cutting right through the warm aura he had around himself. he blew a breath out, vibrating against his lips as his eyes widened. he was speechless. "i see why you work in this business." he said, tone serious. he admired your strength. he leaned forward yet again, elbows pressing into the table. "i'm here to make bigger decisions and pair up with you for deals and stuff along those lines." his smile returned, yet again. you didn't move, blood suddenly running extremely hot. was it warm in here?
"haha, i'm your boss!" he said, drawing out the s sound, similar to a snake. you swallowed, leg starting to bounce. he caught this, mumbling something under his breath you couldn't quite catch. what you could only catch was the amusement in his tone. you felt heat rise in your body, eyebrows furrowing as you simply let out, "okay." "okay." he said back, tone completely opposite to yours. "i'll be seeing you." he said, confidently and knowingly. you nodded, forcing a smile onto your face. he popped out of his seat, making his way towards the door before looking back at you. he only found you to be staring right ahead of you where he was before, clenched fists starting to unravel. you almost seemed flustered. he opened the door to see how you'd react to the sound. you looked up at the sound, only to find him smiling. you didn't smile back this time.
he knew that you were someone different, someone he couldn't wait to figure out. little did he know, you felt the same way.

Day 1:
(Mutual) Masturbation
Lee Felix x fem! Reader | Warnings: friends to lovers, mutual masturbation, dirty talk, mentions of alcohol consumption, switch Felix and reader, let me know if I missed anything !!
Word count: 3k
——————————————————————————
“Oh come on Changbin, stop showing off! You did your dare, you can stop now.” Han said with a snort as he watched his friend continue to do push-ups. The dare was only to do 30. He was well on 50 by now. “Ah, stop pretending like you aren’t enjoying it, I see you drooling over me, pervert” he teased, before sitting up, moving back to his spot in the circle you all had formed on the ground in the middle of the living room. “Am not!” Han huffed out with a scoff, throwing his empty red plastic cup over at changbins chest, before rolling his eyes. “Anyways changbin, it’s your turn, don’t hold the game up anymore.” Changbin looked around the circle, his eyes locking with Hyunjins. “Let’s spice this game up a bit no? We’re all mature adults, I think we can handle it” he teased, a lazy smirk finding its way into his lips. Yeah, the boys had all had a bit to drink, you would admit you had too, but you were in no way drunk, only tipsy enough to be able to deal with the antics of all 8 boys.
“Truth or dare Hwang?” Changbin spoke, his smirk never leaving his lips as he stared at him, watching as Hyunjin fell deep in thought. “Hyung, this feels like a trap” he whined out, before sighing. “Truth”. Changbin thought for a moment, before sitting up a bit straighter. “Have you ever been caught jerking off?” He said, not once stuttering, trying to hold back his laughter as he watched the youngers face light up a soft pink. “Oh my god Felix, tell me why I agreed to come play this stupid game with you and your friends” you said with a laugh after hearing changbins question, clearly just joking around as you looked over at him. Felix gave you a toothy grin, before shrugging. “Mmm, I dunno, maybe it’s because you love me enough to deal with my childish friends” he said, wiggling his eyebrows down at you as he spoke. After a moment of processing what he said, you nodded with a chuckle. “Hm, guess that’s a possibility” you teased, chewing on your lip as you let your mind wander. You two had been friends for well over a year now, of course you’ve told each other you love each other, that was a given. A normal part of a friendship was getting comfortable enough with each other in that way. One thing that wasn’t a part of a normal friendship, was starting to mean those words in a less friendly way. When did these feelings start happening? You weren’t sure. All you knew now was that you loved him, and not necessarily just as a friend. From his toothy smile, to his deep laugh, you were head over heels for him,for your best friend. Sometimes you wondered if you two would ever be more than friends, or even if he felt the same way, what would happen if he did-
“Y/n! You in there?” You were brought back to reality by the sound of his voice, and his hand waving Infront of your face. “Hm? Oh y-yeah yeah I’m here” you said, clearing your throat as you shook those thoughts from your head. “What’s up?” You spoke, your voice betraying you, breaking slightly. Felix chuckled as he looked over at all of the boys who were expectantly staring at you. “Truth or dare Y/n?” Han repeated, seeing as you hadn’t heard him in the first place, due to you being off in your own world. “Oh uhm..hm- truth, I don’t trust you guys.” You said, laughing as you leaned over onto Felix slightly to get more comfortable. “Oh ho ho-Picking truth isn’t gonna save you Y/n-ah.” He said with a mischievous grin, before speaking up again. “Have you ever tried mutual masturbation?” And with that, the room fell silent. You felt your cheeks heat up, and your lips part slightly, not having expected him to ask you something like that. “Ya! Han!- w-why would you ask her that?!” Felix stuttered out, almost seeming as flustered as you. “Aish, calm down felix, it’s just a game! What? Did you think I was gonna give her an easy truth? That’s no fun!” He said with a shrug. All eyes were on you, even felixs, although he seemed more affected than the others. “Uhm- i, i ha- havent, I havent done anything like that, haven’t had anyone watch me d- uh do that.” You stuttered out, fiddling with the hem of your sleep shorts as you laughed nervously. “Why is everyone so quiet! Somebody say something.” You saw bangchan part his lips, probably to try and let you know that it was ok, and nobody was judging, obviously, you all were close after all. But before he got the chance to speak, he was cut off by the sound of Felix clapping his hands together and clearing his throat. “Ok guys that’s enough for tonight don’t you think? We had fun, b-but it’s getting uh, getting late.”
“I was ready to go to bed hours ago” Minho mumbled, getting up, stretching slightly after he did so. “It’s been fun, but I’m gonna turn in” he said with a slight yawn, “night guys, night Y/n, thanks for coming over it was good to see you” he said, flashing you a small smile, before disappearing down the hallway as he headed to his room. Soon after that, everyone started to head off to their rooms, saying their good nights and thanking you for coming over. After most of the boys had left, you got up and moved to the couch, plopping yourself on one side before leaning back against the soft cushions as you reached for the remote. Felix got up to follow after you, but was stopped by a hand wrapping around his wrist. “Hey, you’re not as subtle as you think you are yknow. I saw how you looked at her when she answered during the game, you couldn’t take your eyes off of her.” Han said, before cocking a brow. “You two are really just friends?” Felix looked down at his feet, before slowly looking back up at his friend, nodding. “Yeah- cmon man you know that”. he mumbled with a faint blush, glancing over your way, smiling slightly as he saw you flipping through movies on Netflix. “Pfft- whatever you say man. You’re both totally whipped. And blind. And stupid and-“ “ya! Han I think it’s time you went to bed” he spoke, bringing his attention back to the other boy. “Alright, I’ll leave y’all alone, just don’t make a mess on the couch ok? Me and Seungmin paid a shit ton for it.” He said with a wink, before patting felix's shoulder and heading down the hall to head to bed. “It’s not like that!!” He called out, his face flushing a deep red for what felt like the millionth time that night, before turning to face you.
“Anything you wanna watch lix?” You asked with a hum, turning your head back to look at him, before gesturing for him to come over to the couch and sit down, and he did just that. he walked around the couch, plopping down on the opposite side, before humming as he tried to come up with a movie for you two to watch. “Uh, hm- m’not sure, you can put anything on” he said with a soft smile, before glancing over at you once again. “I don’t mind”. He said quietly, before glancing between you two, realizing how far apart you were. You seemed to notice as well, not hesitating to scoot closer. “Hope you don’t mind…I’m- I’m kinda cold” You were lying through your teeth. “Oh- course not, here” he lifted his arm up, stretching it out against the couch, inviting you to move closer, and obviously you did. You smiled, before curling into his side, resting your head on his chest as you played the first movie to pop up. You could care less about the movie if you were being honest, you were too focused on the boy next to you. He also could’ve cared less, but for a slightly different reason. Ever since the game of truth or dare,he found his mind wandering back to the end of it, when han asked you the question nobody was expecting. He found himself wondering what you would look like…all spread out In Front of him…showing him how you’d please yourself. “Fuck” he muttered under his breath, before chewing on his bottom lip- not even thinking before he spoke. “Would you ever do it?” He blurted out, keeping his eyes on the screen, not even being able to look at you as he asked. Hesitantly, you brought your head up off his chest slightly, to try and look at him- having no clue what he was talking about. “Hm? Do what lix?” You asked with a soft hum, sitting up so you were still against his side, but able to see him better. “You know…just.. wo-would you?” He mumbled, his voice falling quieter as he watched a look of realization fade onto your face. “Y-you don’t have to answer! I was just curious is all- I know that might seem a little weird I was just-“ you cut off his rambling by gently placing your hand on his thigh, trying to let him know it was alright. “No no it’s uhm..it’s fine” you said, inhaling shakily as your cheeks heated up once more. “I mean..yeah-yeah I think I would…” you spoke, trailing off as you saw the way felix was looking at you. You may have been oblivious, but in this moment, you saw everything clearly. Very. Clearly. “Have-have you ever tried it..?” You asked, looking over at him, slowly moving your hand off of his thigh as you watched him look back down at you. He simply shook his head, his adam's Apple bobbing as he took in your form. A white oversized t-shirt, which did almost nothing to hide your perky Nipples peeking through the thin material. And your shorts, so thin and flimsy, they rode up pretty high against your thighs, and it made his mind run laps. “No..always wanted to…find it so attractive” he said- before chewing on his bottom lip, looking at you with an almost pleading expression. You knew exactly what he was trying to say. “Do you wanna- do you wanna try it? With me?” Your voice was quiet, cautious even, trying to make sure you didn’t say anything that was going to make him uncomfortable. You wanted to make sure you were reading the whole situation right. Felix quickly nodded, confirming you were right. He wanted you just as bad as you wanted him, and it felt so good to finally know. “Fuck, please” he whispered out, his eyes falling to your lips. “Please what baby?” You whispered in return, slowly leaning closer to him, stopping when your lips were basically brushing against each others. The whimper that left his lips at the nickname went straight to your core. “Kiss me, please…wanted it for so long.” He said breathlessly, letting his eyes fall shut as you finally closed the gap between you two.
You wasted no time crawling onto his lap, moving your thighs so they were on either side of his own, so you were straddling him, not daring to let his lips off of your own as you did so. The kiss was desperate, and full of need. It was a clash of teeth and tongue. It was messy, but it was everything you had imagined, and more. When you pulled back, a small string of saliva connected your lips, which only spurred you on further. Panting softly, you opened your eyes, looking down to see Felix looking up at you, his pupils dilated, and his lips red and swollen. “Please..wanna see what you do when nobody’s watching..” he panted out, watching as you crawled off his lap, sitting down on the opposite side of the couch from him. “So cute…asking so politely” you teased, giggling a bit as you spread your legs slightly, bringing your index and middle finger down to rub teasingly up and down your clothed slit. Felix sat there, his lips parted, eyes hooded as he watched you play with yourself over your shorts. “Come on lixie…it’s not fair if I’m the only one having fun now is it? Wanna see you…” you spoke out, letting your head rest back against the arm of the sofa, lips parting even further as you watched Felix take his shirt off, and toss it to the floor. You had seen Felix shirtless countless times, but seeing him like this, in such an intimate state, really was a treat. Your eyes trailed all over his smooth porcelain skin, adoring the couple of odd freckles that were scattered around. “God..you’re so pretty lixie..I’m so lucky getting to see you like, this aren’t I?” You moaned out quietly, rolling your hips up slightly to meet your fingers. “Y/n-ah- dont let me be the only one who gets naked..mmh- wanna see y-you too”he groaned out, rubbing his hand up and down his hardening length through his sweats, eyes trailing over your body as he watched you take your shirt off, a whiny moan leaving his lips as his eyes raked over your bare chest, wanting nothing more than to wrap his lips around your nipples. “Fuck- so pretty- you’re so pretty- so perfect for me”. He couldn’t take it any more. Without wasting anymore time, he pulled his sweats the rest of the way off, letting his hardened length spring up and rest against his stomach. He brought his hand up to his mouth, licking his palm before bringing it back down to wrap around himself, starting to pump himself at a fast pace. “Look- at that..fuck, see what you do to me?” He grunted out, gesturing down to his hard cock, which was already weeping with precum.
You couldn’t take your eyes off of him. His hand moved quickly to pump himself, his tip red and angry. His movements were so frantic, so desperate- it got you so fucking wet. He was like this, all for you. You brought both hands down, pulling your sleep shorts off, along with your panties, before spreading your legs even further, trying to show Felix as much as you could. You brought your hand back down, quickly rubbing at your clit in circles with your index and middle finger, rolling your hips up to meet your wrist, desperately trying to get off. Felix panted softly, his hand not slowing down as he spoke. “M’so close doll, so-so close..think you can take a couple fingers for me? Fill up that pretty little cunt of yours?” You nodded quickly, wanting to do anything and everything to have him feeling as good as you did. Bringing your hand a little lower, you slipped one finger into your tight hole, fucking it into yourself at the same pace that Felix was pumping himself to. One felt good, but it quickly became insufficient. You added another finger, whimpering out as you hit your g spot. Felix didn’t want to cum before you, no way. He was going to make sure you came at the same time as him, or even before him. “M’ Y/n- baby, you can go faster for me, yeah? Make yourself feel so good for me?”You felt yourself clench around your fingers at his words, nodding as you sped up your fingers. “F-Felix” you moaned out, throwing your head back as you bucked your hips up desperately into the air, “m’gonna Cum-please please please” at this point you didn’t even know what you were begging for, but you didn’t care- you were feeling too good. You took your fingers out of yourself, bringing them back up to rub circles into your swollen clit quickly, pushing yourself over the edge, as you came with a loud cry of felixs name. Not long after, Felix felt the familiar coil in his stomach burst, white ribbons of his release painting his stomach and even parts of the couch, broken moans and whimpers leaving his lips as he continued to fuck up into his hand, riding out his high, even as his thighs started to shake.
Felix shut his eyes, panting heavily as he tried to catch his breath. You had been doing the same, seeming to recover a bit quicker than Felix. You slowly made your way over to his side of the couch, curling back into his side, resting your head against his slightly sweaty chest. You two sat in a comfortable silence for awhile, before he decided to speak up. “you have no clue how long I’ve wanted to see you like that..” he whispered, opening his eyes as he leaned down to place a kiss to your forehead. “I-I wouldn’t just do this with anyone yknow…just..” you cut him off, smiling dorkily as you stared up at him in awe. “Me neither” you said, humming as you pulled the blanket off of the back of the couch to cover the two of you. “Just, get some rest lixie mkay? We’ll talk about what this means in the morning.” You whisper, placing a soft kiss against his jaw before shutting your eyes. “Night Felix, love you” you whisper, smiling dorkily as he mumbled a sleepy “love you too”.

PAIRING: jaehyun x reader GENRE: fluff, romance, mutual pining WC: 3,054 AUTHOR'S NOTE: finally got to rewrite this first oneshot i made back in 2020 and post it here. took out and edited some parts from the original, though. hope u guys enjoy reading this as much as i did writing it.
“Are you really sure about this?”
I could feel Jisoo’s eyes on me, waiting for an answer. I looked back at her with a blank expression plastered on my face. The thing is, I’m still not sure about doing this confessing thing. It’s not that you get to do that every day. Besides, there are way too many things at stake that I am most certainly afraid to risk once I decide to cross over.
Jaehyun and I have been the best of friends. All over the years, we sure have been through a lot together and throughout those years, it’s hard to deny that he’s exactly the type of guy I’d fall for.
Well, what can I say? He’s everything a girl could ever ask for.
But then here goes the fear of ruining our friendship. Cliché as it sounds but it is what is. The what ifs of this being all just one-sided just won’t leave my mind and it’s bothering the hell out of me.
“I don’t know, unnie. It’s just—”
I could only let out a sigh. Everything’s just so complicated when you fall in love with your best friend. Now you have to be stuck on a situation where you don’t have any idea what to do—whether you tell him what you really feel or pretend you don’t feel it and just move on.
“I get it. You’re scared,” Jisoo said, reaching for both of my hands. “But I want you to do what exactly your heart says. If it wants you to follow him back to Seoul, don’t waste another minute sitting in front of me. Time is running, Y/N!”
Always being the impulsive one, Jisoo helped me with everything. From booking the earliest flight I could get to packing my stuff. They weren’t all easy but I could see how supportive she was with this whole love dilemma I’m currently in.
The truth is, I just want to let these feelings out. I feel like I should tell him, that he deserves to know somehow. I’m tired of fighting with my inner self that I should forget about it and move on because let’s face it, my feelings for him just keeps on getting intense each day that passes.
“Thank you so much, unnie.” I told Jisoo, giving her a side hug before putting on my coat—getting ready to leave.
“Aish, this girl,” she muttered under her breath. “Make sure the next time I’ll see you, you’re somebody’s girlfriend!”
We both laughed.
Flying back to Seoul excites me yet makes me feel anxious of how things would turn out. The thought of confessing still bothers the hell out of me and it’s starting to annoy me. The moment it was announced that the plane is about to touch down, I could already feel my stomach churning.
As soon as I stepped out of the plane, I immediately fished out my phone from my pocket and dialed Jisoo’s number.
“Heavens, Park Y/N!” she groaned. “What is it that you’re calling at this ungodly hour?”
I panicked and checked the time on my smartwatch. I completely forgot the time!
“I’m sorry!” I quickly replied, “I was so anxious the whole time that I forgot it’s 2 in the morning there!”
I could hear Jisoo sighing after she yawned, “Don’t worry about it, pabo. How was your flight, by the way? Make sure he’s gonna pick you up, alright? Wait—does he even know you’re coming??”
It was now her turn to panic. Her gruff voice turning into a raucous one made me laugh a bit.
“Yeah,” I nodded as if she could see me doing that. “I actually sent him a message before I boarded the plane.”
“Mhm, I see…” she mumbled, making me conclude that she’s talking to me with her eyes close at the moment. “Are you going to tell him right away or?”
“I don’t think now’s the right time, unnie,” I answered. “He’s going to pick me up with his sister, that’s why.”
It’s one of the things that excites me, honestly. Seeing Jaekyung again for the first time in years really helped to divert me from feeling anxious. I honestly have no idea how long has it been since the last time I saw her, making me miss her a lot.
If only she agreed to move with her brother in the US. The thought of having her around today would really help to keep me away from my thoughts. Jaehyun knows that I’m only here for a vacation—which is in fact, a lie. Of course, I have to make an excuse but the truth is, I’m actually thinking of staying here for good.
As soon as Jisoo dropped the call, my phone beeped. Upon checking it, there was a new message from Jaehyun.
new message: 재현 we’re already at the gate. are you here already?
My stomach began to churn again. Just like that, the sudden wave of anxiety engulfed my whole being as soon as I read his message. I could already feel my hands starting to sweat. I was so about to reply to his text but then my eyes caught him.
This guy is literally a head turner.
See how easy you can find Jung Jaehyun in the sea of people? That face. That same face that haunts me every night.
“You’re here!” he exclaimed
Jaehyun instantly threw his arms around me, giving me a big hug as soon as I stood before his eyes.
“Omo, Jaekyung!” I immediately diverted my attention to his sister, Jaekyung, giving her a hug and gently patted the top of her head like I would always do when she was still younger.
She totally grew more beautiful than the last time we saw each other!
“I missed you so much!” I said, still can’t believe how much she’s changed over the years. “You’ve gotten a lot prettier!”
Jaekyung’s cheeks instantly turned slightly red upon hearing my words. She reminds me so much of her brother. I always find it cute how noticeable it is when their cheeks turn red.
“Thank you, unnie,” she shyly said. “You look very pretty yourself too.”
After the mini reunion we had at the airport, I asked if we could hang out for a while at the coffee shop which I always loved going to before I moved to America.
“Is it still there?” I asked, worried that over the years, it won’t be there anymore.
“Your favorite café? Of course!” Jaehyun replied, giving me a comforting smile. “It was the first place I went to when I got back here. Still that place reminds me of you, though.”
There was no way I could hide my smile when I heard those words from him. He could very much attest to how much time I spent in that place during our college days. That café holds a lot of memories—honestly the exact place where I finally realized that I have fallen in love with him.
I could remember that one time we were here, studying for our upcoming exams. I was so engrossed reading my handouts, highlighting important terms and definitions from time to time when Jaehyun suddenly spoke, breaking the silence between us,
“I realized just now,” he spoke in his usual low voice making my brows furrow as our gazes met. “I think I know now why you love this place so much.”
Fixing my specs by scrunching my nose, I asked, “Why?”
Jaehyun flashed a dashing smile, licked his lips before speaking.
“Their playlist, isn’t it?” he guessed, still smiling at me as if he guessed right. “They’re exactly the songs you listen to.”
He got me, earning a chuckle from me. There is no way he knows nothing about me. Jaehyun literally knows everything about me that he even knows what kind of music I listen to. He just basically memorized everything that has to do with me. No wonder I love this guy…
Wait, what?
That was the exact moment I realized that I had fallen in love with him. The thought of it never fails to make my heart flutter whenever it crosses my mind.
“So…” I spoke all of a sudden, curiosity slowly eating me up. “Said you went there recently.”
Jaehyun nodded his head, eyes still fixated on the road ahead of us. He looks so cool, though. Or should I say hot? Goodness, what am I even thinking? I can’t seem to pull myself together!
“I missed you so I went there,” he began to say. “Thought it was a good idea but then it just made me miss you more.”
My eyes immediately landed on him. I was actually expecting that he’d be joking but I couldn’t see any mischief in his expression as I scanned his side profile. Wait, was he serious about that? Did he really…
“Quit playing games with me, Jung Jaehyun,” I let out a chuckle, trying to ease the tension I’m feeling inside. “Months ago, you told me you’re sick at seeing this face?”
Jaehyun let out a small laugh, “Did I say that?”
“Yes, you did, stupid!”
“What can I say? I’m not used to being away from you,” he says, still driving. “But I really missed you, Y/N.”
If only he knew how being away from him almost drove me crazy. The two of us have always been inseparable. We may joke about seeing each other’s faces makes us sick, but really, we both know how we’d miss each other when we’re apart for a long time.
Hearing him say he missed me made my heart skip a beat. It has always been like this whenever he does things or even just say anything. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to it.
“I missed you more…” I muttered under my breath, coming out as almost a whisper.
Jaehyun chuckled, “I heard that.”
We took a bit longer than the usual because of the heavy traffic. The moment we got into the café, he volunteered to order for the three of us.
“I’ll just have an iced vanilla latte!” Jaekyung replied when asked what she’s getting.
Jaehyun’s eyes shifted on me with a knowing smile before asking, “The usual?”
My lips formed into a smile as I nodded.
“The usual.”
And indeed, he really knew that usual.
“Iced cafe latte with two packets of brown sugar,” he says, handing me the cup of coffee. “Here ya go!”
“So unnie, are you here for vacation or we can change your mind into staying for good?” Jaekyung mischievously smiled when she asked in the middle of the chat.
The question alone caught Jaehyun’s attention. He has no idea that there’s no need for them to change my mind because I really tend to stay here now for good.
“You’re still going to Boston, right?” he asked, his innocent eyes darting towards me as I sipped on my coffee.
I gave him a cheeky smile and shook my head as answer. His eyes widened a bit upon hearing my response before his lips formed into a smile, looking away. Is he?
“Why are you blushing, oppa?” Jaekyung asked, letting out a small laugh when she noticed.
“I’m not?” Jaehyun protested, avoiding my gaze. His cheeks were undeniably rosy pink in color and also, his ears weren’t really cooperative. They were turning red too. I shyly looked away, hiding my smile.
The three of us were busy chatting when Jaekyung’s phone suddenly rang. She excused herself to pick up the call and when she got back, she immediately told us that she had an urgent matter to attend to. As for the both of us, Jaehyun and I decided to stay to catch up some more.
“I’m glad you decided to stay for good?”
“You are?” I sarcastically replied, letting out a chuckle.
“What changed your mind, by the way?” he asked the moment he composed himself, making me look back at him.
I was dying to say you.
Jaehyun will always be a one decision away from a different life.
I’m actually not sure what to say. I’m afraid that if I tell him the real reason why I chose to stay, it would make things awkward… or not? I don’t know if it’s just me or what.
All of a sudden, LANY’s ilysb started to play on the radio and I noticed how Jaehyun’s lips slowly formed into a smirk.
“Yah,” I called, causing him to look at me with that smirk still on his face. “Is there something wrong?”
He shook his head.
“I’m just really glad that you’re hear now,” he says, leaning closer to meet my gaze. “I actually can’t believe waking up to your message saying you’re on your way.”
“Y-Yah…”
All of the a sudden, the atmosphere turned a bit more… serious, I should say? While it makes my heart flutter, hearing those words from him, I can’t help but be slightly bothered by the way he’s acting. His ears were getting red even.
“Y/N-ah.”
There is really just something with the way my name sounded when it slipped from his lips. It wasn’t just like how he used to call. I don’t know if it’s just me or there is really something going on.
“The thing is…” he spoke again, struggling to find the right words to say.
Wait, did he just blush? He was quick to look away before letting out a deep sigh. Jaehyun scratched the back of his head before deciding to look back at me.
“Can I say something?” I interrupted.
When he slightly nodded his head, I took it as a cue to ask him.
“Are you okay?”
He shook his head and closed his eyes for a second or two before looking at me directly, “Why is it every time you’re near, it’s getting harder for me to breathe?”
His words struck me, making my heart beat faster than its usual pace. Am I hearing it right? There’s no way—
“What do you mean?” I asked, obviously confused and trying to get my shit together. “Yah, Jung Jaehyun, you don’t even have an asth—”
I wasn’t able to finish whatever I’m saying. He fished something out of his pocket and placed something on the table, giving it to me.
It was a mixtape.
I stared it with confusion in my eyes.
“I know you don’t just listen to songs, Y/N,” he began to say. “I know you speak through your favorite songs’ lyrics. I didn’t know how to say it or if there’s even a perfect way to let you know. So instead, I made you a mixtape of the songs that clearly tells you how I really feel about you.”
I sat there frozen, eyes not leaving me. Did he just make a mixtape… for me? Songs that tell me how he really feels about me? I still can’t get a hold of the things that are happening right now. Did he really just make a mixtape when all those other guys can simply make a playlist on Spotify? A for effort, I should say!
“Now that you’re here, I just can’t sit and waste my time.”
“Jung Jaehyun, what is all of this?”
His lips formed into a smile, a shy one. And heaven knows how much that smile melted me. Is he going to?
“I’ve been in love with you since god knows.”
There are a lot of things going on inside my head. First, the things I want to say which are way too many that I don’t even know which of them should I say first. Second, I’m the one who’s supposed to do all this confessing thing and not him! Everything is happening all at once and it’s getting hard for me to process all of them.
“D-Did you just tell me you love me?” I unknowingly said, really can’t get a hold of it.
His face, full of hope, seemed to fade when he heard me ask that. Oh no, no! He must’ve taken the wrong idea! Why are my palms even sweating, shit!
“It’s okay,” he says with a hint of sadness in his voice. “I just actually want to let you know.:
“Jaehyun-ah.”
I could see on his face how it terrified him. Sadness was vivid on his face when he heard my reaction and I admit that it might not be the best reaction I could give but I just can’t believe that he confessed right here, right now before I could even do so!
“Really, you don’t—”
“What if I say that I love you too?”
It was his turn now to freeze on his seat. I could see that and it almost made me laugh at his reaction. But when he finally realized what I just told him, his cute dimples finally showed as he smiled with his eyes twinkling with happiness. I felt like he wanted to shout but stopped himself from doing so.
“Do you really?” he asked, still in the state of shock and disbelief.
I gave him a reassuring smile before nodding.
“I actually flew back here to tell you that but you went on to me first!” I told him how Jisoo pushed me to confess making me realize that no matter how scary it may seem, if it’s him we’re talking about, then it’s worth the risk.
“So does that mean…”
“Mean what?”
“We’re together now?” he raised a brow at me, giving me a boyish smile.
I took the mixtape and gave it a look. There’s his handwriting which writes “To Y/N ♥”, making me laugh a bit.
“I never knew you could be this cheesy, huh?” I teased, earning blushing Jaehyun in front of me. Giggling, I shoved the mixtape in my purse. “I’ll make sure to listen to this when I get home so I’d know everything you want to tell me.”
“You didn’t answer my question, missy.”
Jaehyun’s face made me laugh again. He really looks cute when he’s slightly upset. I leaned onto him and give him a kiss on the cheek. A smirk instantly appeared on his face.
This guy, really.
“I’ll take that as a yes.”

Summary: when your best friend finds out you don't believe in love, he sets out to change your mind.

A/N: This is a lil intro/sneak peak for a series of drabbles I hope to start soon. It's a lil short, but let me know if you like it!

"Y/n!"
Taehyung came bounding through the door of his Aunt's bakery, full of his usual infectious enthusiasm as he quickly greeted her and made his way behind the counter to you.
"I need to talk to you." He said, leaning up next to you as you finished prepping a tray of mini cheesecakes.
"Tae, I'm working." You brushed past him, slipping the tray into the oven as you spoke.
"But I need a favor!" He whined, following after you.
"The last time you said that, I ended up needing stitches." You said, casting a sidelong glance at him.
"Aish, it won't be like that again, I promise you." He said.
"Really?" You questioned.
"Well, almost promise you." He grinned sheepishly.
"Tae." You warned.
"Please, just hear me out." He stepped in front of you. "Please?" He begged, giving you his best puppy eyes.
You sighed. In all the years that you'd been friends with Taehyung, you'd come to realize that you could never really say no to him.
"What is it?" You relented.
"I need a date."
"Excuse me?" You blinked.
"There's this art exhibition I'm going to tomorrow night and I need a date." He said.
"Why would you need a date for that?" You questioned.
"Because Mae is gonna be there."
"Ahh." Now it made sense.
Mae was his ex-girlfriend. They had dated for the better part of a year, and he had been quite head over heels for her, but apparently the feelings had not been mutual. When he'd asked her if she would to move in with him, she broke the news that she had been seeing someone else.
"So, You just don't want her to know you're still hung up in her." You said.
"I'm not." He argued.
"Right."
"I'm not!" He insisted, growing frustrated. "Are you gonna help me or not?"
"Don't you need me to help with things here?" You pleaded with his Aunt, who'd been watching this whole exchange with amusement. At nearly eight months pregnant, she had been relying on you more and more for help around the bakery as she neared her due date.
Tae was waving his hands frantically behind you, silently pleading with her.
"I'm sure I could spare you for one evening." She grinned.
"See? Please?" Tae beamed at you.
You sighed again.
"I don't have anything to wear." You tried, but he just lit up even more.
"I'll take you shopping! It'll be my treat!"
He hugged you tightly, spinning you in a circle before bouncing off towards the door.
"Thank you, y/n!"
"I didn't-"
"I'll pick you up after work! Thank yooou!" He called, leaving you slightly dazed and confused.
What had you just got yourself into?

“hii I hate to do this but I just found out I won't be getting my first paycheck at my new job until April 15th, and my account is 100 CAD overdrawn” why do you hate to do this? There is nothing wrong with needing help. Inflation might be declining and so unemployment rate may be too, but it’s natural and normal to need help under capitalism. I mean it’s dystopian to live in a capitalist, colonial Canada isn’t it? That we do I mean. And no person is an island anyway. And non disabled people seem to think they are so independent when other people grow their food, and trucks send their food to the grocery stores rven though some companies are becoming creepy towards truck drivers. Like watching them on their routes. What the fuck? And the garbage men pick up abled garbage. Abled society tells us disabled people to move out of our homes, or I mean at least in Western culture, we are expected to do that when we are adults. Even though we might have disabled parents to take care of and they might have to also take care of us. And no one is as independent as they think. And the grocery stores that truckers deliver to are jacking up prices for food to make it hard to get food and not starve. With inflation and increasing prices on- I lost my train of thought. Anyway it’s okay to need help. I am on Aishe and I help my mom a lot. You know mutual aid and stuff. Living together is easier for expenses too and er take care of each other. Isn’t internalized ableism or capitalism to apologize for needing help? Since you are disabled like me. I mean not that I don’t have internalized ableism and sometimes feel shame if I don’t remember key facts anout myself.
yeah, part of me hating to do it is internalized shame. but also, I get death threats whenever I ask for financial help so. that's a factor too

So it’s time to celebrate a huge milestone for my little sideblog! ✨ Never thought I’d do one these in my time here, but thank you so much to all those who have hit the follow button and showered my content with likes and reblogs, trust me, there is nothing more fulfilling for a content creator than to catch a glimpse of such profound appreciation. HUGE shoutout also to all the source blogs that reblog my content, you guys are honestly the best! Without further ado, let’s get to the chase—it’s time to give back to this wonderful community. As always, tag me in your creations with #usersj 💞
My ask box is open to whoever wants to request GIF-sets for Asian TV content subject to HD availability of source material. First, let’s become mutuals, then, send me a number from the below list to get your requests fulfilled:
Favourite TV series: I’ll GIF your favourite moment in a TV series you love. Please specify the series name & episode number (timestamp will be a huge plus).
Favourite on-screen pairing: Shoot me a TV or film couple you like or a moment of theirs you cherish and I’ll endeavour to bring them to life with vibrant colours.
Favourite film: Like #1, I’m open to creating gifsets of your favourite film and/or moment (I can also do a montage if you specify it).
Apologies in advance if I am unable to fulfill your request, there's always the shows that I usually GIF about and reblog some sets marked as #favourites that you can choose from, I’ll usually have the HD footage for these readily available, so send in your request again! 💗
Finally, please bear with me as this is the first time I’m doing a follower celebration event. Any and all such posts will be tagged as #esa1k+, so you may want to blacklist the tag if you don’t wish to be bothered with associated content.
