lesbian and queer fashion includes hijabs, niqabs, burqas, and other religious and cultural clothing. queer muslims, queer jewish people, queer people of color, should not have to choose between their faith and their presentation. they do not need to sacrifice their cultural clothing in order to satisfy western standards of queer gender presentation. butch and femme muslims, jewish people, and poc who wear niqabs, burqas, niqabs, yarmulkes, etc- are not “straying” from lesbian fashion or culture, they are adding to it and making it more rich and beautiful. all sapphics deserve to feel safe in their head coverings. if you’re a sapphic who wears head coverings/body coverings or cultural clothing of some sort, you are valuable and beautiful just as you are.

lgbt muslim ask prompt
1 9 10 12
A couple of good questions unfortunately some of those I don't have a super interesting for yet
1 ok this is a great question because my transness is what brought me to Islam because I felt a nakedness as part of my dysphoria as well as an envy of Niqabi's at how feminine and protected they were and that helped lead me closer to Islam
9 unfortunately I haven't learned very many of Allah's many names yet so I can't really say
10 well much of the Wisdom of the Quran I was already doing in some way shape or form before I became a Muslim because most of it is just being a good person but I feel like I'm better at being active with it now
12 well I reverted partially because I had been searching for something I had been and kind of still are deeply struggling with my Hypersexuality and trying to find something Spiritually looking for divinity within the Chaotic patterns of the Universe and in those patterns I found Allah

Friendly reminder that if your feminism doesn’t include woc, queer women, trans women, disabled women, women of any religion, or sex workers then your “feminism” is shit <3

I’m late to the party but there’s finallyyyyyy a book for the fat Black Lesbians 🥹💜 As a Lesbian Muslimah, Kris has my entire freaking heart. I hate that I’m almost at the end of the story. If anyone knows more Black lesbian literature please let me know! I’ll love you forever <3
p.s. I’m thinking about uploading a little book review…we’ll see 🦑 ~

if i can do something to influence a single person on this planet, let it be this -
watch we are lady parts.
do it.
i paid 5.99 for a peacock subscription just to watch this show and it was entirely worth it.

Queer Muslims deserve so much more recognition and adoration than they get. I hope you all know how absolutely worthy and important you are to the queer community!

Basira is so many things and I adore her for it but the funniest thing is that we get so wrapped up in the fact that she's a complex female character in a horrific situation who isn't afraid to be unlikeable that we haven't even touched on the fact that she may be a Muslim sapphic!!

I would like to recommend a book called "Hijab Butch Blues." It's a biography. And it gave me a new perspective. The book is about Lamya's life and how she connects to her identity. I highly recommend giving it a read.
