Mayu could be your muse’s guard / bodyguard or the guard / bodyguard of your muse’s betrothed. Can also be adapted to Six Of Crows where she’d be a wanted criminal for having attempted to assassinate Ravka’s king (while  successfully killing his doppelganger Isaak Andreyev, a guard and innocent man they fell for) and deserted the Tavgharads. Nikolai would’ve sent them in hiding in Kerch knowing she’d be a great fit for the Crows.

I’m really sad about Isaak, not just for the obvious reasons but also because I was really looking forward to all the angst after he and Nikolai switched back. Think about it: Isaak would be angsting about how to tell “Ehri” who he actually is, and Mayu would be scratching her head wondering why Nikolai’s suddenly not into her anymore.
