Ancestors wrath is a great ability and I think the Dunmer fire themed aesthetic is very fitting for today's Element inktober prompt

It’s not finished, but I’m tired of looking at it so have an Ayleid well for multifantober day 2 - magic.
Learning digital art makes me feel like a beginner again and I don’t like that but I paid good money for this iPad so I’m darn well gonna use it.

multifantober day 1 - dungeon
i meant to post this yesterday but i got distracted (read: nervous) and then i couldnt format it like i wanted to on mobile when i was in bed and blah blah ANYWAYS. im not much of a visual artist so im writing little thingies that r sorta helping me get an idea of my elder scrolls oc selyth hlervu's character. so without further ado
Wiping the sweat from his brow, Selyth took a moment to plop down against the worn door to the Eretammus-Sennammu Egg Mine before heading inside. A week or so ago, he had heard one of the many transient pilgrims mention an abandoned-looking mine on the way to visit their family’s ancestral tomb. Well, how lucky he had thought, I’m in need of some kwama eggs. When you’re an alchemist in an out-of-the-way place like Molag Mar, sourcing ingredients yourself does wonders for your bottom line. The pilgrims who passed through, typically on their way to the shines on Mount Kand or Mount Assarnibibi, found his potions invaluable, as the next city big enough for an established potion-seller was no short trip away.
Selyth got back onto his feet and readied his dagger before easing the door open. Though Kwama workers paid people no mind, the warriors were a bit more confrontational, and thus one could never be too careful. But hey, Kwama cuttle was useful too. He stepped inside, pausing to allow his eyes to adjust, and carefully proceeded forward. Wooden support beams dangled precariously from the cave’s ceiling, almost as if they were waiting to smack some poor s’wit in the face. He ventured further inward to where the bigger nests were, dragging his hand along the cave wall to maintain some sense of direction. Eventually the mine opened up into a larger room with nests lining the walls, a crumbling rock path leading up to the queen’s chamber. This is probably as good as it’s going to get he mused as he sheathed his dagger.
As he knelt down to stuff the first cluster of eggs into his satchel, Selyth could’ve sworn he heard voices echoing from somewhere in the cave. He was used to all sorts of strange sounds coming from the fauna of Vvardenfell, and considering how dilapidated the mine looked, he pushed that thought to the back of his mind. As he held up an egg to examine its surface for signs of rot and decay, he heard the sound yet again; there was no mistaking it this time, he was not alone. Scooping up the last few eggs in the nest, he silently readied his dagger, all the while praying to Almsivi that he wasn’t about to meet his end in a rundown egg mine. The least the gods could do was allow him a more impressive death. With measured steps he backed himself into a crevice somewhat obscured from view, all too aware that running would be equivalent to screaming, “Intruder alert!” until an arrow pierced his heart.
His breath trickled out of his lungs in staggered chunks as he tried to control it, his eyes glued to the mouth of the tunnel leading to the queen's chamber. Footsteps. Haughty laughter. These sounds were soon revealed to be produced by a small group of bandits, hopefully making their way to the mine's entrance.
"Hah! You should have seen that n'wah's face when I stopped him. He was so terrified he probably would've given me the clothes off his back had I only asked!"
"And yet you only took him for a measly hundred drakes?"
"I doubt he had much more on him. Always some dunderhead coming to Vvardenfell hoping for an easy adventure. Must not teach those outlanders about the Blight," one bandit mused, "I suppose if I didn't get to finish the job, that will."
As if Vivec themselves were watching from afar, chuckling mischievously, the bandits stopped mere feet from where Selyth had concealed himself. He tried to take note of everything he could. Three of them. Armed with clubs and axes. Beat up bonemold armor. Perhaps he could easily take one of them, but circumstances called for utmost caution.
Click clack clatter. The sound of shifting stones that signaled Selyth's demise. Immediately the group of bandits whipped their heads around to lock eyes with the little Dunmer lurking in the crevice. For a moment they stood staring in bewilderment before hastily raising their weapons to the mysterious intruder. Leaping to his feet, Selyth waved his dagger freely between the three of them, hoping beyond all hope he could buy enough time to get the hell out of there. What seemed to be the leader raised his axe, all too eager to hack down this obstacle and rummage through his belongings, when splat!
A sizable Kwama egg smashed into the bandit's face. Before they could figure out what was happening, Selyth hurled a volley of eggs directly into their faces. He narrowly managed to slip past them as they frantically wiped the gunk from their eyes and made a mad dash for the entrance of the mine. By the time the door was in sight, the group of miscreants had just begun their pursuit. I suppose I can afford a little fun… Selyth mused. He readied more ammo, and as the ragtag team rounded the corner, he launched another barrage of eggs at them. Quite satisfied with himself, he slammed the door to the mine shut behind him, laughing all the while.
Upon his exit, Selyth ran as far as his legs could carry him before collapsing beneath an emperor parasol mushroom, his breath ragged. After all, he had a now very angry group of criminals after him. After the adrenaline rush had worn off a bit, he checked his satchel in the hopes he might not have come away completely empty-handed. Only a few emergency brews rattled around at the bottom. With a heavy sigh, he heaved himself off the ground and started the trek home. He supposed there had been worse ingredient-hunting expeditions.
