Siofra

Siofra is an intriguing Irish female name that denotes an ‘elf’ or ‘fairy.’ The name is also used to refer to a sprite or any supernatural entity. Siofra has only been in use since the 18th century, making it a unique and new name.

In Germanic mythology and folklore, the Elf is a particular category of human-like magical creature. The Icelandic Poetic Edda and Snorri Sturluson’s Prose Edda both make reference to elves, which are particularly prevalent in North Germanic mythology. Elves have been regarded in medieval Germanic-speaking societies as beings with magical abilities and extraordinary beauty who were ambivalent toward common people or capable of aiding or hurting them.

Fairies and sprites also find roots in European mythology. There are also references to a changeling, a type of fairy. This Gaelic belief has origins in old Irish superstitions. It was formerly believed that when the parents weren’t looking, elf children would be switched for newborns by changelings.

This Irish name has been employed by famous people like Sofra Cléirigh Büttner, who is an Irish middle-distance runner. She competed in the 800 meters at the 2017 World Athletics Championships. Sofra O’Leary, an Irish attorney and judge on the European Court of Human Rights, is another renowned figure who shares the name Siofra. She's one of two that I have to put up for Valentines day. She is wearing a teal and black cinderella dress with pearly lace and diamonds on it.Her long dangling earrings are pearl and gold. She had a pearl and gold tiara type crown. She has long redish hair put up in a bun in the back. The 1400s gave way to the incredibly iconic accessories of the 1500s, namely hoods (both Gabled and French) and ruffs. While the end of the Tudor era saw the popularity of headdresses decline in favour of uncovered hair decorated with jewels, diadems, and feathers, prior to that headdresses were a vital part of court dress. In fact, the style of hood worn was often used as a political statement amongst the nobility. Hats had always been in fashion for men, but the 16th century saw them also become a fashion staple for women. CC links and reference images under the cut.

Masika

Masika’s name means born during rain. A old man took her in gave it to her because she was found alone in a storm, crying louder than the winds and thunder that ravaged the small village she would later grow up in. The old man, Abasi, treated her like she was his own kin. Growing up, her childhood and teen years were filled with happiness, as well as duty as Abasi desperately wanted Masika to join the hidden hands. It wasn’t until he was on his death bed that he told her of his guilt and shame of sacrificing his family to achieve his dreams but then being too much of a coward to complete them— therefore losing both his family and his life-long dream. Despite not being blood related, he told her that she was his daughter and he was proud of the who she was becoming. When Abasi died, Masika felt a sense of loss. She placed the pain of losing her father deep inside her, never fully accepting his loss and but instead focusing on placing all her ambitions into becoming a emerald hand. After all, if she’s Abasi’s daughter, she will become an emerald hand, just as he always wanted her to be.-from CHRONICLES RP- She's wearing a royal blue dress with an drape over a shoulder.
