barbie is for the girls who grew up playing with barbies. it's for the girls who didn't. it's for the girls who aren't girls anymore. it's for girls who feel trapped by how rigged society is against them. it's for girls who grew up hating the colour pink because it was girly. it's for the girls - the people who were taught that any show of femininity, anything even associated with it made you weak. it's for the boys who don't realise the system is rigged against them as well. it's for the mothers who pushed down and locked up the weird and dark and crazy parts of themselves. it's for the people who love barbie, and hate her.
it's a love letter.

There are three types of ships:
"If you die, know that I love you."
"If you die, I'll kill you."
"If you die, the fucker that dared lay a finger on you will be sorry."

I do not, I repeat, I DO NOT care how many times these images, or honestly any pictures or gifs are shared over and over and over again from Red, White, and Royal Blue.
I will fucking like/heart that shit like it's my job.
That is all, please continue to share four million more times. I promise, I'll probably like every goddamn post.

hey can we talk abt the love that went into this film. like im biased so the indian parts were my fav but. like u can tell they did their research you can tell these ppl genuinely love spiderman and the characters and writing. you can tell the animators had fun making those scenes. you can tell this was a love letter. you can tell this was a "fuck you" to the trope that the spiderman has to lose everyone (cough, no way home, cough). you can see the gentleness w which miles and gwen are handled. w which miles and peter are handled. and even the antagonists, you dont hate them coming out of the movie, you feel bad for them. this took 5 yrs to make and it was well worth the wait.

I’m just as feral for this moment as everyone else and I know a lot of ppl are talking about how Henry’s leading here…BUT MAY I REMIND YALL WHAT PROCEEDS THIS?!
Alex secluding Henry only to pin him to a table in front of a founding fathers portrait to make out and then LEAVING 7(5, thanks Amy) minutes in heaven by saying:
“You are gonna go be, like, five hundred feet away from me for the rest of the night, or else I am going to do something that I will deeply regret in front of a lot of very important people. And then,” Alex says, and he grabs Henry's tie again, close to the knot, and draws his mouth up to a breath away from Henry's. He hears Henry swallow. He wants to follow the sound down his throat. "And then you are going to come to the East Bedroom on the second foor at eleven o'clock to-night, and I am going to do very bad things to you, and if you fucking ghost me again, I'm going to get you put on a fucking no-fly list. Got it?”
So yeah man’s has a lot of catching up to do

i think many writers (myself included) get stuck in the “free time must be writing time otherwise it’s wasted” mindset. but how often do you sit down to write, stare at the screen, and call it a day? or claim you’re writing while you’re actually just screwing around doing other things? we forget that a fundamental element of writing is simply reading. you can’t improve your craft if you refuse—willingly or not—to witness what others are doing. instead of bashing ourselves for not being productive or inspired, we should be enjoying great novels, poetry, essay collections, memoirs, and the like. a “good” writer doesn’t have to be writing all the time or even most of the time; a “good” writer should recognize the limits to their creativity and find joy in that which inspired them to write in the first place: reading.
