So what if it wasn’t Danny that looks like Damian but it was Damian that looks like Danny
I’m thinking internet friends Tim and Danny, close enough that Danny knows that he is talking to The Time Drake while Tim knows about his ghost-believing-crazed parents. Sure, there are some secrets that are never told like how Danny kept the fact that is half dead and that his town is sort of haunted (or that he is the King of said ghost) but Tim also kept the secret that he is Robin and was taken in by Batman (aka Bruce Wayne) from him so it’s a balanced-out secret! But they are still close, close enough that Time knows exactly how Danny looks like.
So, to say when Bruce introduced Damian to Tim of all people had not only made him silently panic over the fact that Danny may or may not be de-aged (which was quickly cleared away when he messaged Danny that night) but also to the fact that Danny may or may not be potentially Bruce’s son
at first, he didn’t know what to think about that bit of information
it was after Damian’s attempt at his life did Tim made it his mission to not only meet Danny in real time but to also convince him the fact that he is Bruce Wayne’s lost long son and the demon brat’s brother because he rather have Danny as a brother then Damain of all people. If he was going to have to live with demon brat then he wants Danny too as composition.
It was only fair after all.
Not only that, but if it gets the brat to shut up about being the blood son and one and only heir of the bat, then it was a plus in his book
What Tim forgot in his mission in proving of his new potential future brother to his family was that if he was, in fact, Damian’s brother then that would mean that Danny is, potentially, an al Ghul
This family was only barely scratching the surface with an assassin baby, now they are going to have to learn how to live with a half dead boy who has Lazarus in his blood (and maybe Ghost King but details)

You Know How There Are Those AU? Where SUPER Injured Ghosts Need To Retreat To Their Core?
No one seems to be USING that to its fullest potential! For SHENANIGANS! Because! Who?? Could POSSIBLY carry a Halfa's Core safely... but another Halfa?! A FULL ghost would KILL them. A human would be killed! What terribly precarious peril we find ourselves in! Oh nooooooo!
Well, no worry!
As much as Dani fuckin HATES this. That there is her brother. Her Template. Her Clone Daddy and Bestest of Bros. Like HECK she's gonna let him suffer for centuries and possibly DIE. She can take it, Doc! Pop him in! We'll go road tripping and-
What do you MEAN "No"?
Unstable??! Of course she's unstable! But the-.... Oh.
Turns OUT? Dani? Can hitch a ride in DANNY for Emergency Medical Aid... but NOT the other way around. Her body is too loosely held together. He would parasiticly consume her from within. Instead of feeding off her Ecto System like injured ghosts are supposed too, because she's a CLONE? AND an unstable one at that? His Core would just... see her body as free ectoplasm. All of it.
He'd eat her.
Which mean Frostbite can not and WILL NOT allow that.
But he's HURT! That big, off screen, cataclysmic Fight To Save Everybody From *cough cough mumbles* and settle us all in the DC universe, REALLY messed him up! What are we supposed to DO!? He can't STAY like this!!!
Enter-> My FAVORITE DCxDP Trash Ship! Vlad&Lex!!! *horrified screaming from the crowds, someone shouts "oh god, no! Please!"* Ha! There are no gods here, silly billys! Only two terrible, terrible HIGHLY Dramatic, self serving, incredibly damaged, gay peacocks. In Business Suits that cost more then your house is worth.
They're AWFUL~♡
And! Vlad was sent ahead to lay the ground work. Insure there would be no GIWs. Also because no one could stand him and his EXTENSIVE criminal record. But that's besides the point.
But!
You know what he found? A Business Nemesis. Who he routinely dates and/or Dramatically Hate Fu-*coughs* I mean, attempts a Corporate Take Over(tm) off. You know how it is. Business. He ALSO gets to make it no secret he's a "Meta", thanks to the INCOMPETENCE of one Jack Fenton, because that- *seething rant*
Yet? Dispite his STILL burning hatred for Jack? And his finally letting go of Maddie? You know what he STILL wants?
For Danny to be his Son.
*Gets a call from Frostbite*
...............soooooo........ what you're SAYING is..... I can be pregnant with Daniel.
You, Frostbite, need ME, Vladimir Masters, THE ONLY OTHER HALFA, to carry Daniel around inside my body, in what to all appearances resembles a pregnancy, in order to heal him. Because I am an Older And Stronger Halfa Upon Which He Relies.
:)
*instantly begins plotting*
Just? Imagine. Vlad is a FUCKIN LIAR. No one but him would even KNOW what was going on! He just? Rocks up one day, like? *falsely demure* "oh I couldn't POSSIBLY has any scotch, Lex! >:) I'm eating for Two~☆" and just? Deals the MAXIMUM amount of psychic damage he can.
Probably says it at their weekly, public, Veiled Threats Brunch.
It makes front page news. Luthor choked on his eggs. The paparazzi lost their SHIT. Vlad is doing the FULL Celebrity Mom Thing. The classes. The photo shoots. The Gucci sunglasses as he peruses high end strollers. All while HEAVILY suggesting that not only is "The Baby" Lex's.... but that he's going to withhold the child and deny Lex any access.
Danny isn't even aware. He's in a lovely lil medical coma. Dani is trying to find a good spot to plop down Amity. She just know Vlad is being... Vlad. Meh. He can handle it. Dan? He's not even IN the human realm and is not sure he wants to be.
But over in the LEAGUE? Everything's on fuckin FIRE.
Kon is losing his SHIT and Clark is thousand yard staring into the void. Kon's half brother is in the hands of a... Less Then Ideal... Meta that Batman is PRETTY sure is highly suspect. Might be a deliberate weapons experiment. Certainly is a hostage. And the DRAMA.
Lex has never been worse.
He might actually stab his...partner? Vlad. At the hospital. The SECOND the child is born. There are already long term kidnapping plans in the making. He's hiring lawyers. Getting VICIOUS. There have been talks with DEATHSTROKE. By BOTH OF THEM.
Clark wants to cry.

Lost son of catbat au where Danny learns who his bio parents are and freaks out. Batman was notoriously observant and would find him out in a heartbeat. Not to mention if it came to a custody battle he would win against the Fentons easily, or worse, someone would get overshadowed and the situation could get messy.
Batman might also seek ways to control or contain him which was terrifying. He spent his entire life feeling like he was in a cage, trapped by his adoptive parents. He didn't have many friends because his parents would scare people off with thier high tech weapons and neon jumpsuits and the ones that did stay...well they did more than look down the barrel of the sci-fi guns they touted, even if they were only covered in goo, getting shot at must be a traumatic experience. The rest of the time he felt like he was trying to creep across landmines without setting them off.
No one wanted his parents undivided attention not even thier children. That combined with the fact his house was mixed with a lab resulted in it being a giant cluster of Osha violations. Opening the fridge was dangerous long before the portal opened and the food inside it would come to life, this was because they often stored dangerous and volatile chemicals inside of it and something as small as the light bulb flicking on inside could cause something to explode.
Danny had never felt safe in his house. Tuckers place had always been his safe haven and his parents had practically raised him as thier own. Thank the Ancients for Mr and Mrs Foley. He didn't know where he would be without them. This, of course, changed after the accident. Now he didn't feel safe anywhere.
After six months with his powers he began making contingency plans for everything. His friends called him paranoid but were forced to eat thier words not even a three days later when one stopped a new ghost from taking over the city.
Danny had always been good at making plans when he actually had time to sit down and think things through. He was also excellent at sneaking around and stealing. Now he knew why.
He might not want anything to do with his parents but he very much wanted more siblings. Jazz was great but she helped raise him since she was a baby. She felt way more like a mom than a sister. Dani was self explanatory. It hurt him to know that his siblings didn't know about him-couldn't know about him.
That is, until Red Hood appeared on the scene. At this point Danny had given up on his human life and found he had so much more free time. Sure he was technically still going to school, but that was to fight ghosts, he didn't attend classes. He set up alliances with other ghosts in the zone to help defend his territory and now Amity Park had a thiving ghostly undercity that few of the living knew about.
Danny finally had time to himself, even though Sam hated it. She kept telling him it was wrong. This was a hot topic of debate between him, Sam and Tucker with the boys both against her. Sure, watching the people who took him in and -well, not raise him exactly but fed and clothed him for years- drive around the city desperatly calling his name did make him feel kinda crappy.
Red Hood gave him hope. He was estranged from Bruce but was still his brother. Jackpot! Plus he was older than him and a known killer, so he wasn't likely to tattle on him to the big bad bat about Danny making Vlad "disappear" a few months ago. Hood made people disappear all the time so who was he to judge anyway?
Still, he could admit just showing up unannounced in his apartment was kinda dangerous. There was no garentee Hood would shoot him, brother or not. I mean, he's been violent with Robin lately and no one knows why, and he's thier brother.
Just as he was about to talk himself out of this and go back to his own city he heard the tell tale click of a gun. Crap.
"So, who are you?" Hood asked, seemingly aloof even while being confronted with a stranger breaking into his home.
Danny nervously gestured to the cookies he had made for them, "If i tell you will you promise not to tell Batman?"

Danny Phantom but make it murder mystery + supernatural/horror elements
Basically an idea of an au of which Danny Phantom fuses with Detective Conan. Throw both in a pot. Let it simmer for a while. Add some mysteries to the mix, a pinch of family and comfort, a couple of case solvings, a big bowl full off horror and supernatural elements. Mix them together and let it boil for over to dry a bit before adding a whole gallon of angst.
Boy i just got this idea today and i wanna throw it up here because i do not want it to live free rent here in my head.
Alright, let's get this over with.
There will be a lot of changes like the settings and all.
Alright. Here we go. Jack and Maddie Fenton are still scientists BUT! Both of them are morally dubious and sometimes can be a little bit darker than the sunshine vibe and image that they give off. They do not work for anyone and work only for themselves. They are a renown scientists and people's opinions on them diverge from time to time. Some people are wary and afraid of them while others applauded their works as scientists and look up to them.
Their children are geniuses. The public prefers the eldest daughter to look up to but they adore the youngest son. The children are famous in their own field. Jazz is on her way to be the youngest kid in history to ever enter a prestigious university and making a name for it in the psychology course.
Danny is still a fan of the space. Technically, he gain more benefits from his inventors parents because to appease him and not have him bothered them back in the younger days, they created all sort of inventions that can help Danny understand the space. They give him everything that they could with their money and genius brain. However, they are not a good parents. They still love their children but sometimes they forgot their responsibilities and often ignored them in favor of their own job. They put too much pressure on the children it nearly drove them apart.
Jazz have a love hate relationship with her parents. She is the oldest and the toughest daughter. Yes she is hurt by her parents and their decisions to deal with them but she always could brush it off. But when it comes to her baby brother she will literally explode and rage. Danny is miserable. He was happy when his parents give him gifts like books and inventions related to space. He even have his own small ship. But after the presents, his parents would dismissed him and get lost in their own world ignoring everthing in favour of study and science. Danny is Maddie's favourite child but he is often at the end of her dissapointment and rage. Jack always divert it from Danny whenever he is there. Maddie did not cross the line. However, she nearly cross it when she slapped Danny so hard it bruises when he was 10 years old. That day forever scar in Danny's brain. It happened because of an incident with a precious research paper.
Maddie felt guilty and tried to apologize by giving him more gifts. Jazz doesn't trust her mother around Danny anymore. Jack, ... He ignored everything and decided that nothing ever happened.
Jazz is five years older than Danny. She was 19 years old when her brother Danny, 14 years old goes missing. Her parents went into hiding a week before his dissappearance. She thought that it might be connected. The moment their parents dissappeared, they could not even contact them at all. They were left with money and other things for them to survive.
Her brother was missing for six months with no trace after both of them went to a science expo. Then he suddenly showed all bloody and bruised. He looks haunted. She found him shivering near the Fenton Family main house.
But one major change is that he is now a child. A 5 years old child. She recognized her brother as that child. Of course she would know him. She is his sister. She was the one that mainly raised him in the Fenton Family.
He lied about himself. She thinks that Danny was just trying to protect her. She studied the psychology of humans. Her main subject. She knows the child she dubbed as her Danny did not in fact act much like how a child will. Not even a child that is wise beyond their years.
Danny is oblivious though but she will keep her mouth shut right now. She will wait until he is ready to tell her.
Jazz was afraid for Danny so she let Danny's file be written as a dead file. Cast away to be forgotten for an unknown period. He is officially dead in papers and media. No one knows of the real predicament.
Danny only introduces himself as Niel which is kind of stupid of him even though he was supposed to be a genius child. Really Danny? The name derived from your own real name?
One thing for sure that everything that she knows as something unbelievable and never existed are now flipped over.
Supernatural things are true.
And Danny is the proof of it.
Danny looks so afraid. Those... creatures always goes after her brother and nearly took him away from her. She was afraid for him. The creatures seems enchanted with his presence and will always find a way to whisk him away from her grasp.
She can't see the creatures. But she knows that they are there. Too much evidence in front of her eyes shows that in fact the supernatural exists.
She once saw one of those creatures. It was when Danny was being carried by her. It's kind of weird. Usually when she was carrying him around, she did not see them. But she only sees it for a brief moment.
So she studied more about the supernatural things. She needs to have all of the subjects about the the supernatural and the other side of reality covered because it is important.
Important to protect her brother against the unknown.
Danny, to simply say it, could contact the dead and have the ability that is ... supernatural. Like a medium or liminal. And it effects him greatly. It not only effects his health but his lifestyle. His life. She tried to keep him safe.
Then she met these teenagers who seems taken with Danny. Well, not really teenagers. Only 13 years old boy and girl. It seems Danny have them in his tiny grasps..good. He needs friends and all the supports he could get.
Tucker Foley and Sam Manson are average teenagers at best. They are not in fact, friends. Just acquaintance at best. They always clash with each other. Sam and Tucker's fight rivals the fight between Paulina and Sam.
They always argue with each other and only in an agreement rarely. Danny acts like some sort of glue. Sam wants to see who the child that was adopted by the famous Fenton daughter. She dragged Tucker because he knows the place and has seen the kid.
Niel (Danny) takes her interest because he is something different. A concept she can't grasp. Bonus is that he is involved in something supernatural. Tucker did not like how she is around Niel. He loves Niel but goodness he will be around often with Niel when Sam is around. She will drag the poor child into something dangerous if she keeps that kind of behaviour and thinking.
Jack Fenton came back from hiding but Maddie Fenton is still missing. Jack looks somber and sad. Almost depressed. He said that he needs time away from his wife. He said both of them need time away from each other.
Almost like both of them are thinking about divorce.
Jack believes Danny's and Jazz's lies and is even more sad to know that his son is missing and possibly dead. Having Niel around causing him grief and heartache but he is never the one to lash out. Jack is still a scientist at heart but he will never repeat his mistakes. He has a chance now.
It does not mean that Jack is not going to stop looking for his son.
Danny's first murder case was when Sam dragged him with her and her parents to a party. Jack and Jazz are invited too. They are famous and the rich people there want famous people.
There they met the Gray duo. They met Damon Gray and Valerie Gray. Valerie is in the same class as Sam and Tucker. Sam and Valerie do not get along at all. Even more so than Sam and Tucker. Tucker and Sam agree that Valerie cannot be anywhere near Danny.
Tucker does like Valerie but as in girls in particular. Tucker does have a standard. Damon Gray is in the Police Force. He is in the investigation team. The detective is Mr Weston. Wes's father. Wes is actually one of the junior detectives learning under his father's teaching. Wes is usually seen hanging around Tucker and sometimes Valerie.
Crime happened and there was a lot of blood. Danny was at the scene having witnessed the murder happened. He can't see the face of the culprit but he knows other things like the culprit voice, height, and body shape.
He is under witness protection. Danny wants to tell them that something is going to happen to the killer. That something is angry. And that more people will end up dead if they did not find the killer quick.
Danny helps Wes and his father find the killer. Wes is suspicious of the Niel kid but oh well. Wes is 13 years old. Wes does know that Niel is hiding something and he will uncover it but he did not want to face the wrath of one Jasmine Elena Fenton.
A spirit is involved in the story between the murderer and the victims. That is the first step Danny is involved in the world of crimes and supernatural mixed in.

i am steter trash so i wrote an au where stiles is a spark that lives in the forest because he killed his dad in an accident back when he was a kid and couldn't control his magic and his moms family was just made up of mages and he is the first one to actually be a born spark with loads of power so she raises him and teaches him everything she knows
and in this au sparks are being hunted and put down like animals so claudia builds a house in the forest with stiles where he can live and study magic on the land of their family and after she dies stiles moves there.
(and yes hes a lot older in this because it makes me antsy to write about eighteen year old stiles and adult peter. sorry. I'm a pussy okay.)
and stiles meets his gang! and scott is a dryad, lydia is a mermaid, jackson and danny are mermen (and jackson and danny are together by the way), i planned allison as a regular human that meets scott on a walk in the woods and falls in love with him later in the story because the hale fire storyline is still happening, and kira is an ancient kitsune who also lives in the forest and is good friends with stiles, and erica, boyd, isaac, liam, theo etc are not there yet but thats cause stiles is pretty alone.
he just minds his own business and takes care of the dryads and meets fairies (who live in the forest) and makes a deal with them that they'll stop screwing around with humans and stay in the forest and he'll protect them and take care of them because sparks are powerful and the fairies appreciate that instead of being afraid of him.
and stiles just does his thing for a couple of years until the fairies go a little bit too far and peter hale, who is stupidly a little too far in the forest on his patrol, gets caught in a storm they cause and gets lost in the woods, and he finds stiles' house and stiles takes him in and gives him dry clothes and then guards him back so peter won't get himself fairy'ed
and then a week passes and stiles is kind of anxious peters family will tell him to fuck off the woods (even though it's stiles' heritage to take care of the forest, the hales just live there) and then: the actual plot
a little apple dryad tells him scott found a dying fairy. this fairy apparently told scott in her dying breath something wolfish killed her, and stiles wrongly thinks peter and his family did that, and he goes to find scott to ask him about it, but scott is just gone. stiles can't find him and gets worried and checks his wards, and when he gets to the wards around the hale property, he meets laura. he asks her if she's seen scott, and she saw him going back into the forest, but stiles still can't find him.
laura leaves and stiles finds the ward to their territory broken, and it stinks like druid, so he figures it was this deaton guy because werewolves aren't sneaky like that.
stiles visits lydia (because he still can't find scott and lydia knows how to calm him down) and finds out jackson and danny saw a monster while making out under the surface of their lake and from then stiles knows that the hales have got nothing to do with this because what lydia describes Is Not a werewolf.
so he gets pissy, and then ultimately is enraged when he finds a dead stag this monster killed, and because he's pissy he visits the hales to tell talia he's rightfully going to kill their emissary for being a bitch and breaking his wards and letting some monster walk his territory.
and talia is all "what the fuck how do i not know you." and stiles is all internally "i see my darling peter kept his promises" and then he's internally like "wait fuck i'm not really in love with this guy am i" and then he's like "oh. OH."
and talia convinces him not to kill deaton because shes awesome and stiles grumpily agrees because... not agreeing would be a dick move and it would mean. War. Basically.
so the hales offer their help looking for scott and stiles finds this monster thing on his search and its a wendigo yay, and scott has been following this thing around for days now because he's a dumbass and wanted to help, and they bro out
and the hales and stiles kill this thing, which means magic action. and stiles is awesome. and everyone knows that now.
what follows is just steter get-to-know-eachother and the hale pack are the biggest wingmen (wingpeople) ever and there's fluff and magic and a lot of flowers because stiles is a person that can't for the life of him say the words "i love you" and gets incredibly anxious when people say "i love you" so he mostly displays his feelings for peter in hanakotoba, the traditional japanese flower language that kira taught him, and peter eventually catches onto that and they get together in a load of angst and fluff and they have sex. because of course they have loads of sex. bold of you to think peter can keep his hands off stiles for longer than a day and likewise.
and there is like a load of stiles/hale pack friendship dynamics because i love them all and then suddenly yeehaw. hale fire.
So paige has already happened in this timeline before stiles and peter met, and derek still meets kate and she does her scum thing and uses him. a bunch of hunters show up to the hale house, shoot them with wolfsbane bullets and gather them so they can burn together.
stiles wakes up in a rush because something bad is happening to his wolves but then his eyes fall closed again and he can't get out of bed for a solid time because someone freaking poisoned him and he's fevering and weak and everything is dizzy, but he forces himself up because something. bad. is happening. to his. wolves. he stumbles into his kitchen and almost dies right there and then, because the poison is wolfsbane and he feels like he got tons of it shoved down his throat by the person that poisoned him. his life starts flashing in front of his eyes and he fights back at it and vomits the wolfsbane out, believes it out of his system and when it's gone, he's just left raging.
because i hate kate, stiles loses control when he meets her at the hale house and kills her. he gets the pack and gets them out of the house, breaks the mountain ash circle and they leave. the hales can't go back to their house because the place is swarming with hunters
and peter and stiles figure out it was deaton who told kate everything she needed to know to set this trap and the mountain ash circle also stinks like druid, so deaton gets revealed as being the bad guy all along. stiles figures that he also poisoned him so he wouldnt interrupt, and that deaton wanted thalias alpha spark. the wendigo was a test and deaton put it there on purpose to see how strong stiles was and if he would care about the hales, because deaton knew stiles would feel the hunters killing them and ever since peter and stiles got together the druid knew he would have to murder him too to get the hales dead.
and stiles is just half feral in his wrath and the aftermath of the wolfsbane poisoning, and derek is sobbing and muttering about this being all his fault, and peter has two bullets stuck in his knees and has to be held up by his niece and his brother-in-law, and every one of them is shot and hurt and crying and talia does her best to comfort derek while shaking as well
and stiles just closes his eyes. takes a deep breath. and takes care of his family-in-law, because fuck if he isnt gonna marry peter after this. he takes them in, gives them clean and comfortable clothes, patches them up, lets them shower, yeets his living room so they have space for a big puppy pile, gives them food and water to drink and then draws a ward around his house that is strong enough deaton won't be able to find them unless he sells his soul to the king of hell.
when he's done with that, he locks the hales in and asks kira to take care of them and make sure they're okay while he's gone. she agrees and stiles goes and because he's angry and kind of more dark than i let slip until now so he just. slaughters the hunters that are left. and he enjoys it.
then he shows up to chris argents house, shocks the living hell out of allison because he's still covered in blood and ash, and goes talk to gerard, who is there for alibi purposes. he just flatly tells the truth and asks gerard how many times they've done this now. and the second the old man lets slip the hales weren't the first, stiles goes full Older Derek Hale Mode and slams him against a wall to threaten the living shit out of the man.
by threaten i mean he says that he'll kill him and there's nothing the guy can do about it, cause stiles will find him, no matter how far he runs. yknow bamf dark stiles shit. i am living for writing this scene right now bye
and then he looks at chris and allison. allison looks scared out of her mind and then she asks if thats true. if her family really did something like that. and chris has to look her square in the eye and tell her through gritted teeth that, altough he didnt know about this, yes, they did that to innocent people.
and stiles looks at chris and gives him a nod, because he knows the guy can get this right, he knows allison is strong and fierce and will be fine no matter what. he looks at gerard and sneers at him in disgust. then he leaves like the dramatic bitch he is, but not without ensuring chris will clean this mess up and make an alliance with talia.
he goes back to the house and the only one still awake is peter, and stiles breaks down completely, covered in blood from head to toe and scared out of his mind too. peter holds him, gently leads him into the shower, and helps him get cleaned up, washes his hair, picks out clothes for him, and they go to sleep together.
then, recovery. stiles organizes therapy for derek because lord knows the boy needs it, he nurses the hales healthy, shows them around in the house, they meet his friends, cora and lydia take a particularly special interest in each other, scott is sad because allison broke up with him but stiles visits the argents and talks to her a lot and they become friends too, and he knows scott will get over her eventually, just as she's getting over him.
and stiles shows the hales his life for a while until everyone is recovered, and then they go back to the hale house that he cleaned up already (because, uh, corpses had to be buried, floors had to be cleaned from blood and the smell of magic and mountain ash had to be erased)
and then peter proposes to stiles and they have a beautiful wedding by the lake where cora can talk to lydia, and derek ends up talking to scott quite a lot because scott is nervous and sweet and falls head over heels for the quiet werewolf, and guess who allison ends up with? nobody. because allison is fucking awesome and in the hunter business and she takes it upon her to start cleaning up the community and goes against hunters that are like her aunt just killing innocent people and a relationship with anybody would just be annoying. maybe she realizes she isnt even into relationships, i don't know that yet. aro ally would be interesting, dude.
And then in the end stiles goes to live with the hales and they mend their territory together so he can still visit his friends and he leaves the house to cora who eventually moves there as an adult so she can live with lydia. he and peter move out as well and they go back to town when stiles is ready, because he's lived so freaking long in the fear someone will hunt him down and kill him for his power, and now everything is peaceful. so he puts down his weapons, stops fighting, and lives happily ever after.
and has loads of sex with peter. just because.

Okay so, I know you got the au where you show certain avatars as parents, but super curious, how do you think the other characters would be as parents? (Aka Tim,Jon, Martian, Sasha, etc.)
Boy howdy, I’m only doing the kids listed in the AU, or else this is gonna be way too long of a post.
Jonathan Sims: Great dad, but he gets overprotective sometimes because he fears his children will end up like he did. Is a lot better with older kids than younger kids. Has never lost a game of “but why” before. In a Jonmartin scenario, he is surprisingly enough considered the more laid back father.
Martin Blackwood: Gets overprotective like Jon, but even more so. Has a hard time letting his children’s younger years go, and ends up a ridiculous amount of their old toys and clothes. Cries whenever his kids have to get injections/shots. Surprisingly good at showing authority when it’s needed.
Tim Stoker: Absolute champion at making his kids laugh after something bad/scary happens. Very laid back parenting methods, to the point that his kids are pretty reckless. Likes to rough-house when his kids are up for it. Loves taking his children on trips, especially for outdoor activities!
Danny Stoker: Calls his parents and brother constantly to ask for advice when the kids are little, but after that he’s fine. Has the funniest reactions to his kids doing stuff. Scrapbooks damn near everything. Takes his kids on yearly camping trips with Tim and his family. King of piggyback rides.
Sasha James: Calm and collected mom that is never phased by anything ever. Best listener in the world. Teaches all of her kids, no matter their gender identity, how to do makeup and tie their hair in different ways. Loves doing art and science projects with the kids. Loathes parent-teacher conferences.
Melanie King: Has never once given into a tantrum, and she never will. Even if it’s a bit embarrassing for her, she’ll still play pretend with her kids. Doesn’t even blink when her kids break shit; it was bound to happen. Can’t keep from laughing when her kids do something stupid. Best hugs.
Julia Montauk: Absolute queen of waking her children up at three AM to go to the grocery store and buy candy/sweets. Longs for snow days more than the kids. Teaches her children how to fight as soon as they’re school age. Invites Trevor over a lot and introduces him as the kids’ granddad (yes, Trevor cried).
Alice “Daisy” Tonner: Literally terrified to be a mom, and gets overprotective when the children are babies. Carries her kids everywhere until her S/O convinces her to let them walk on their own. Gets really aggressive with other parents when their kids are bullying hers. Has a really hard time raising teens.
Basira Hussain: The chillest mom known to man, even chiller than Sasha, but this isn’t always great; tends to under-react to big events. Teaches her kids to read way earlier than most other parents. Never argues with her kids. Also has a hard time with teens because she struggles with their mood-swings. Loves her kids so, so much.
Oliver Banks: Comes off as an incredibly anxious father, but he’s much more level-headed than he looks when it comes to his children. Always knows what’s wrong. Has the best advice. Much less stressed during the baby years since he’s used to not getting a lot of sleep.
Georgie Barker: Has made it to every single event for her kids without fail, and she throws the biggest, most amazing birthday parties ever! Loves goofing around and hanging out with her kids, especially once they’re teens. Hates homework, so she doesn’t bug her kids to do theirs. Low-key sucks at putting her foot down.
Mike Crew: I don’t really see him wanting kids tbh. Wine uncle. Lets the kids jump on the couch and scream as soon as their parents are gone. Sucks at cooking, but can at least make mac and cheese from the box. Refuses to watch kids who are teens, for fear of them pressuring him into letting them drink.
Helen Richardson: Does and says shit that absolutely flabbergasts other parents, but her kids are too accustomed to notice that she’s a bit weird. Best baker in the seven seas; her after school treats are to die for. Queen of multitasking. Better with babies than kids, but either way she’s an amazing mom.
Jane Prentiss: Like Mike, I feel like she’d rather not have kids of her own, but she sure as hell would make for a great aunt/babysitter! Brings her bug collection over and lets the kids look at/hold them as much as they want, so long as they promise to be gentle. Gives them too much sugar.
And I think that’s everyone! Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk, in which Ted can never shut the fuck up.

As I've said before, I have a lot of aus! My friend @deuynndoodles said I should make a masterlist of all of them. So I did! I was so tempted to keep writing stuff about them because I'm horrible at writing short summaries while also getting thr basis of the story across so it was a bit of a challenge cause when I start it's hard to stop me.
Anywhoooo heres a list of all my aus at the moment! There are minor ones I have and ones I've tossed out or forgotten but these are the ones I like so I hope you like them! (And if you have any questions at all please feel free to ask! I love talking about my aus!)
MY HERO ACADEMIA:
Ratiocination (Indigo Jets)- Vigilante Izuku, he has a quirk called pause that allows him to stop time but he cannot move and the longer he stays paused the more of his memories get erased. He's childhood friends with Bakugou and Shinsou who both worry when he disappears from their lives. His vigilante name is Indigo Jets.
_____
Emerald Eyes (Manx)- Short Izuku with cat eye syndrome, he has a quirk that allows him to make bubble-like force fields similar to Steven universe. He's found by the Wild Wild Pussycats and they train him and later on becomes a part of the team. His hero name is Manx.
_____
House of Glass (Rose/Grim/Grimrose)- Izuku is raised by the League of Villains and they're his big happy family. He has a quirk that allows him to erase and manipulate people's memories as well as a telekinetic quirk given to him by All For One. He's sent to UA as a spy but he ends up making friends and enjoying himself. He has the hero name Rose and the villain name Grim.
_____
My Angel (Starlight)- Izuku has a quirk that gives him the powers of an Angel. He has wings and a halo and he's also an empath with healing abilities. He also has the power to visit the dead, his mom, and it's difficult not to fall in love with him when people meet him. His hero name is Starlight.
_____
Out Of Reach (Tapeti)- Izuku Midoriya is taken by the league after making a deal with Shigaraki on the roof where All Might leaves him. They turn him halfway into a nomu, experimenting with quirkless candidates. Meanwhile, Bakugou is trying to find his friend through his years at UA, only to find out Izuku doesn't remember him, having been brainwashed and taking up the villain name Tapeti.
_____
Green Thumb Garden- Izuku was sold to villains as a child because Inko couldn't afford to take care of him. He escapes a few years later and is shrugged off by a hero. He's taken in by a family who runs a garden shop and as they get older, he begins to run it. He believes he is quirkless but later on finds out he has a quirk that allows him to speed up the growth and healing of organisms like an enhanced fertilizer would.
_____
Cerulean Flames (Deku)- Izuku gets lost in the crowd during a villain attack and can't find his mother. Instead, he finds a runaway Touya Todoroki who leads him back to safety. Izuku visits him almost every day and Dabi teaches him how to fight, play dirty and is there like an older brother for Izuku. When getting one for all, he also participates in helping Izuku train with All Might.
_____
Glass Wings (Sterling)- Izuku is taken in by the Shie Hassaikai when he runs away from home. Over the years he learns that they're not all they seem, trying to unravel it from the inside out with his sister Eri and friend Rappa. They're about to run for it during the raid but are caught by heroes. Izuku, being so close to Eri and not having any recorded crimes, is put in a villain rehabilitation program at UA. His old villain name is Sterling, turned codename.
_____
All For You (Deku)- Older Izuku, he went to school with Aizawa, Nemuri, Yamada, Oboro and Tensei, he being the closest with Tensei. In an accident with Oboro, Izuku is blinded in his right eye. Both are injured but survive. They all grow up to be heroes, Izuku also acting as an older brother figure to Bakugou. Izuku is also a teacher at UA in the heroics department, he teaches the students how to be safe and reduce damage to their surroundings and self.
_____
Ignite (Phoenix)- Vigilante Izuku, he loves to sing and perform at the hotel and karaoke bar his family owns. The hotel is open to heroes, villains, vigilantes, civilians, the poor, discriminated against and everyone in between. His father was in an accident when he was young which paralyzed him from the waist down because a hero failed to save him.
Izuku becomes a vigilante to look for people to come to the hotel. People who need the safety and those who have no place to stay. He has a quirk that allows him to manipulate fire. He doesn't need to look for people to pay because so many patrons already donate. Later on, Phoenix stops being a vigilante and becomes a full time singer. His name is Phoenix.
_____
Circus Caliber (Ringleader)- Inspired by The Greatest Showman, it takes place when quirks are only beginning to appear. People believe them to be freaks and shun them from society. Izuku is quirkless but admires quirks and looks for people to join his quirked circus (everyone in 1a and thensome). He wants to show the world that quirks aren't bad or destructive. That they can be good if given the chance.
_____
Panacea Paradox- Post quirk era, Izuku is a scientist who is fascinated with quirks. He tries to bring them back through experimentation and tests the completed formula on volunteers (1a). The experiment goes wrong, they have quirks yes, but they're all painful and grotesque. (An example would be Bakugou's explosions burn his hands horribly, mutation quirks have dead limbs, much bleeding and injuries, etc).
Izuku panics and drinks the last of the liquid, he gains a quirk that allows him to temporarily remove other's pain by inflicting it on himself. He desperately tries to find a cure but people die in the time he isn't able to. He means well but he makes many mistakes. (It's a rather dark au)
_____
Fractured But Not Yet Broken (The Free Hero:Arrow)- Izuku has an incredibly self destructive quirk, it's called Fracture. It allows him to impact incredible telekinetic force to the point of breakage but in turn harms him immensely, broken bones, internal bleeding, lots of pain. The quirk gives him a slightly higher pain tolerance as well.
Inko is immensely overprotective, sheltering him entirely from the outside world besides internet access. He goes to UA secretly while she's at work and becomes very close with his friends and the UA staff, Nezu especially. They take away inkos custody later on and he gets to live in the dorms. His hero name is Arrow.
_____
Send A Sign (Beetlejuice)- Izuku dies hundreds of years ago (he's the same age as All For One) by being struck by lightning. He wakes up in the current day with no memories of his past.  He can only remember the word "Beetlejuice" as it was the musical he and his mother were going to see before he died. He wanders around and begins following a 4 year old Bakugou and it stays that way. Izuku's like his guardian.
One day Bakugou says "Beetlejuice" 3 times while listening to the song and Izuku is now visible to him (part of quirk). Izuku is his friend, teaching Bakugou lessons and acting like a big brother. Izuku goes to UA with Bakugou and after the blass says his name, they all see him and he spends time with them, trying to regain his memories and joining them through the ride of becoming heroes. (I'll explain all of his powers some other time, it's a long list)
_____
DANNY PHANTOM:
The Spectral Hero: Danny Phantom (Danny/Phantom)- Danny has a quirk that allows him to breathe and survive in space with no equipment but he doesn't know that since he's never been. The Fentons move to Japan from Amity. He's shocked by the portal and gains his normal ghostly abilities, telling people that is his quirk and not the result of a freak accident (he tells Aizawa later because he can't erase Danny's ghostliness). He has the persona of vigilante Phantom as well as Danny, the UA student. Aizawa knows it's him and they have a playful relationship, him acting as Danny's mentor. He later reveals to his class he is Phantom when moving into the dorms.
_____
Pink Slip- Danny is more affected by the portal accident, as Fenton it makes him weaker and more vulnerable but it feeds into his ghost half with more power. He misses school for a month after the accident and doctors take the ectoplasm in his blood as some disease. They give his school a pass so he can visit the nurse at any time. Since he has an excuse, he often leaves class with full permission of the teachers cause they think he's just going to the nurse's office. People don't question why he always looks tired and has bruises on his body, just thinking he's weaker due to the accident.
_____
Broken Watch- Danny is an ex a-list student who leaves when they start bullying kids. He takes a larger hit from the portal, giving him an electric core and powers that are more difficult to control but pack more of a punch. He gets taught about the ghost zone and other things by Clockwork after Dan and is given a defective pocket watch. Clockwork says by the time Danny fixes it, things should be alright. All or the numerals on it represent people in his life he must get closer to and those who will help him throughout his life to reach his full potential.
_____
GRAVITY FALLS:
In A Black And White World- Dipper has the ability to see a dimension in between his and another, it's a dimension filled with magic. He is able to manipulate it but nobody else can see. He keeps it a secret until later on. It allows him to feel, see, taste, hear and smell others emotions and intentions. Their energies and feelings. He can see creatures that travel in the dimension, including Bill who teaches him about magic. He eventually manages to develop it enough so it becomes visible after seeing Bill use it in his body after his betrayal.
_____
DUCKTALES:
Operation Oversight- On an adventure, a bracelet with an intelligent sentient robot attaches itself to Louie when he examines it and through nightmares and threats convinces Louie to pursue Louie.Inc through any means necessary. This means forgetting his loved ones to reach his goal. His family finds out months after the adventure and they manage to break Louie out of the trance enough so he can destroy the bracelet.
_____
Adroit- (similar to the concept of epithets) A small population of people in this world have superpowers and it just so happens everybody in the mcduck family gains powers. The story is basically all of them using their abilities and discovering different parts of them. (I'll get into all of their powers later on)
_____
EDDSWORLD:
Chaosworld- A scientist with a vendetta against Tom attempts to steal his monster abilities but instead manages to give harmful mutations and powers to the gang. They try to revert the mutations and find a cure before it's too late for them all.
(Also also, I'm very sorry to those who follow me solely because of Chaosworld. I probably wont be writing anything for it for a very long time if I ever do get back to it. It just dosent really inspire me anymore, I'm sorry qwq. )

Kindergarten
Welcome to fic installment one of the childhood best friends au
Today marked the first day of Will’s favorite month of the year, October. Well it wasn’t actually the first day, but it was just as exciting. So many good things happen in October! The leaves started to change colors,he got to wear all the sweaters his nana made him,Halloween and not one but two birthdays! His mama’s and his older brother Michael’s. That meant double parties and double cake, and he got to see his sister Kayla at both! He loved birthdays so much, he just had one not too long ago! He was now a proud six year old, one of the big kids. Well, at least that’s what he told Naomi.
“I’m one of the biggest kids ever now mama!”He cheered, “I’m even older than Auntie Nat’s baby!”
“That’s right baby”She said with a fond smile, “Hurry up now and finish that banana, we gotta get your shoes on so you can catch the bus”
“Can daddy drive me like he does sometimes?”He asked.
“Now baby you know your father has work just like I do”She said.
“Work is stupid”he huffed, “I miss you guys driving me”
“I know you do pumpkin”She said, “But it’s only until next month, then i’ll be driving you to school and picking you up everyday”
“You promise mama?”He asked.
“My word is good baby, now go get them shoes on so you can make your bus”She said. He jumped off of the chair and raced into the living room looking for his rain boots. October didn’t always bring good things, but it did bring rain and rain brought worms. Will loved worms. He could barely wait for Naomi to zip up his raincoat before he was bounding out of the house. Just as he went to pick up a real wriggly one he heard a loud honk.
“Aw man”He pouted. Naomi chuckled and handed him his backpack.
“That’ll be your bus baby. Mama couldn’t pack you a lunch today so you’ll be eating at school. You remember your number?”
“212256!”He exclaimed.
“That’s right Will, good job”She said, “I’ll see you later, I love you”
“I love you too mama!”He said and made his way up the stairs of the bus. Being a big kid was weird now. When he was in Pre-K he didn’t start school until 9:00am, now he was on the bus with all the big kids, even the fifth graders. But, lots of things got weird when you got older so it was okay. He took his seat and began to daydream, hopefully the rain will stop by Recess so they can play outside today. Don’t get him wrong, he liked indoor Recess as much as the next kid but it was getting boring. You could only do so much with coloring and hand games.
-
The bus pulled into the lot and Will’s excitement only grew. There were so many puddles to stomp in! He grabbed his backpack and yelled a quick goodbye over his shoulder to the bus driver. His teacher was already here! He wonders how she always managed to be on time, did she sleep at the school? The possibilities were endless, maybe she was a superhero who flew to school every morning. He squinted his eyes a bit and shook his head, definitely not a superhero, what superhero would want to be a teacher? Before he could hypothesize any further he was ripped out of his thoughts.
“Good morning, Will,”she said with a smile.
“Good morning Miss. O’Conner”He said politely, “What are we gonna do today?”
“Well aren’t you curious?”she mused, “You’ll just have to find out when class starts”
He huffed. She always said that! Maybe one day she’ll finally give him an answer. He simply nodded his head and lined up with the rest of his classmates. They all seemed to be chattering about something and he wanted in.
“What’s going on?”he asked. The group turned to him and they all seemed to speak at once.
“We got a new student-”
“-yeah yeah and he’s from-”
“-italy! Isn’t that cool, Will?-”
“-yeah! Isn’t that so cool!”
He blinked once. Then twice as he processed what was going on.
“New student?”He asked, “But it’s October? Don’t we get new ones in September when school starts?”
“I dunno”one of the kids shrugged, “maybe he’s special”
Yeah, he thought, maybe he is special.
“Come on class”Miss O'Connor said, “We’ll be heading inside now”
The group of kids all but raced after her. The avalanche of children almost knocked her down as they approached classroom 104. It was one of the smaller classrooms and it was all the way down a long hallway past the cafeteria. It was kind of spooky looking on rainy days, but it was October after all so Will would accept the spooky. Once the door was opened the chatter stopped and the kids stood silently. There was a woman with long dark hair covered with a bandana, she wore a very pretty dress, kind of like the ones Naomi wore to church. To her right was a small boy clutching her dress with one hand and a stuffed bunny with the other. Will frowned, he looked sad.
“Class”Miss O'Connor addressed, “as some of you may know, this is our new student. Would you like to say your name sweetheart?”
He shook his head and pulled on his mother's skirt, she leaned down and they both whispered a few things that Will couldn’t understand. When she finally stood back up fresh tears were in the boys eyes and he fully faced away from the class.
“I am sorry”the woman said, “He is ehm...he is a little timid”
She had an accent he’d never heard before, is this what italy people sounded like? This was so cool!
“That’s quite alright”Miss O'Connor said, “I understand that it’ll take some time for him to adjust”
“Thank you”the woman said quickly, she leaned back down and whispered a few more hurried words and then she was gone. The small boy of course protested but was ultimately left alone, tears and all. A few students began giggling and Miss O'Connor sighed.
“Class, this is Nico di Angelo.”
-
The days went on and Nico was still as frightened as before, if not more. Once the other students realized that he wasn’t going to talk they quickly lost interest in him. He only minded a bit, he didn’t want to talk to them anyways. They were all too loud and made him like the room was fuzzy and that he couldn’t breathe. So he sat alone and colored his way through the day until he could see his mama. That lasted about two days until he got bored of it, I mean you can only color so much, people. The blonde boy who smiled at him the first day caught his interest, he wanted to say something but his accent was funny-well, at least that’s what the other kids said. He frowned, he spoke English as good as the rest of them, his tutors made certain of it and so did Papa. so he said nothing. He just watched and waited, until that got boring too.
He started off by sitting next to Will during storytime and was delighted when he didn’t scoot away. Then he sat with him during art time, a few other kids moved tables but Will didn’t. Of course Will was confused, but he was flattered that Nico chose him of all people so he just went with it. He was also happy that he could make Nico smile without them even talking, it was like he had magic.
This went on until the early days of November. The two sitting in solidarity and working on whatever task they were given. Will was patient, but patience only lasted so long when you were six years old. During yet another indoor recess he noticed Nico sitting at one of the tables thumbing through a picture book. He sat down and built up the courage to say something, anything. He noticed two little white ears sticking out the pocket of Nico’s overalls and grinned.
“I like your bunny rabbit, what’s its name?”he asked. Nico grinned back and pulled the bunny out lifting it up proudly for Will to see.
“Bianco!”Nico exclaimed. Will giggled and shook his head, what were those other kids talking about? Nico didn’t talk funny at all.
“Bianco...I like it!”He said.
-
The days grew warmer and indoor recess became a thing of the past. They unlocked all the hula hoops and jump ropes and even brought out the kickball. It was getting closer to spring and pleasantly warm, Will was happy. He loved the sunshine. He was playing catch with one of his other friends and out of the corner of his eye saw Nico walking away from a group of boys, he looked sad.
“Hold on Danny”He said and without another word ran over to his friend. Nico was crying but at the sight of Will quickly tried to wipe his eyes.
“What happened, neeks?”He asked.
“N-nothin”Nico sniffled, “not important”
“Were they being mean?”He asked, before Nico could answer Will was already stomping over to them. He was hopping mad, so mad that he wanted to yell, so he did.
“You guys better stop picking on my friend!”He shouted, balling up his fists. “It’s not nice! Miss O'connor said we gotta be nice to everyone!”
“But he’s weird!”One of the boys shouted back, he got a chorus of agreement. Will stomped even closer and dug his nails into his palm.
“I’m never playing with you guys again”He said, “You’re just meanies!”
He turned back on his heels and walked back over to Nico who had since stopped crying. He looked at Will in awe who was still trying to calm himself down. Those boys were such jerks, he wanted to hit them, but that’s also not nice.
“That’s okay Nico”He huffed and looked over his shoulder, “the sandbox is for babies anyways! We can go play on the swings instead”
“B...but I like the sandbox…”Nico said, quiet as a churchmouse. Will frowned and pulled the sleeve of his shirt to his wrist to wipe Nico’s tears. He hated seeing his friend so sad.
“Then I'll buy you a bajillion sandboxes! Just so you don’t gotta play with meanies”He said.
“A whole bajillion?”Nico whispered.
“A bajillion and one!”Will promised, “my word is good”
“What does that mean?”He asked. Will shrugged.
“I dunno, but my mama says it whenever she makes a promise”Will said, “now come on!”
The two giggled and ran to the swing sets hand in hand.
-
As the year dragged on the two grew even closer, much to everyone’s surprise. They had started sharing a mat together during nap time because it was the only way the two could sleep. Will tended to worry about his friend when they were separated, he knew Nico’s biggest secret and didn’t want him to get teased. Nico was now one of the big kids and he still sucked his thumb, but that was okay. He had just turned six so it wasn’t a big deal, he was still little. So Will made it his duty to make sure no one knew.
They also shared snacks during snack times. Nico’s mom always brought him yucky healthy stuff so it was also Will’s duty to introduce him to the finer things in life. He pulled out his lunchbox and held it above his head lion king style, song and all.
“You’re so silly!”nico giggled and Will did too, finally putting it on the table. He pulled out the sacred snack and placed it before the brunet.
“Here neeks, try this! These are called dunk-a-roos!”he said
“Dunk-a-roo?”Nico said slowly and scrunched up his nose. He wasn’t sure how he felt about this word...words? He didn’t know. It’s a little clunky and the letters are stressed in the wrong places but will still gave him a big smile.
“Yeah you got it!”
-
As Nico grew more comfortable he began to open up more. Will found out he had two sisters who he loved fiercely. Bianca who was in the second grade and Hazel who was in the other kindergarten class. If he loved talking about one thing it was those two, and Will listened intently.
“And-And yesterday after school Bee made us a tea party!”He exclaimed, throwing his hands up.
“Woahh with real tea?”Will asked.
“Yes!”he said, “me and Hazel and mama and papa and Bee all got dressed up and went into the garden!”
“You guys have a garden?”Will stressed.
“Uh huh!”He said, “maybe mama will let you come over sometime”
As much as he was fond of Nico, he was also a bit jealous. He wished that he got to see his siblings everyday like Nico did, but it was okay. His mama said that every family was different and she wouldn’t lie to him. He still got to see Michael and Lee during christmas and his birthday, and Kayla went he spent the weekend at daddy’s house. He loved his different family, even if Nico’s seemed perfect.
And sooner than later, he became a part of it. With the constant begging from Nico, Bianca accepted Will as another and very blonde little sibling to take care of. It made him happy to finally have a sibling to see everyday, and he’d always wanted an older sister. Two older brothers were too much, and a new little brother was coming. He scrunched up his nose, too many boys.
-
At the end of each day his favorite thing was to hop in the car,get some chicken nuggets and tell Naomi everything. So with the warm April breeze on his back that’s just what he did. He said goodbye to Nico,Bianca and Hazel(who was still a little shy) and hopped into his mama’s minivan waiting to spill. He was practically buzzing with excitement as he was strapped into his carseat.
“Hey baby!”She said and she tightened the last buckle. He smiled and leaned forward to kiss her cheek.
“Hi mama! I missed you!”He exclaimed. Her laughter could be heard from outside the car as she got back into the driver's seat.
“I missed you too Will”she said, “now, who’s that little boy you’ve been playin with?”
“His name is Nico, mama! He’s this big and he’s from italy and he still sucks his thumb durin’ nap time—but that’s okay right? Cause he’s still little?”
That’s right baby, we should have Nico over for a play date sometime”
-
The next day after school Maria and Naomi got talking, Maria was so happy that she cried. Although a little surprised Naomi was quick to act and pulled her into a hug. It may have been a bit of an odd sight to see two women crying in a parking lot, but it was one of the least weird things most teachers had seen all day. When Maria had finally regained her composure she clutched onto Naomi’s hand like her life depended on it.
“I...I apologize, Nico just...the other kids are mean to him”she sniffled. “As his mother it is hard to see, I am so happy that he has Will.”
“Oh sugar don’t you apologize”Naomi said and pulled her into another hug. “I could say the same about my Will, he talks about Nico all the time”
“Nico loves him”She said and pulled away to wipe her eyes, “Nico loves him so much.”
“I could say the same”Naomi chuckled, “Will loves him fiercely.”
“Please, come over for dinner”she said, “I’m making Risotto-”
“-Oh Maria you don’t-”
“No no, I insist!”Maria exclaimed, “it is the least I can do. Your son has brought a new light to Nico’s eyes”
And from the sincerity of her tone, how could Naomi say no?
“It’s a deal”
As Naomi walked back to the car, the pride that filled her chest was soaring. Will was still so little but his heart was so big. It was amazing how he could do so much good and still not realize the gravity of the situation, how complicated it was. But it wasn’t complicated to him, he simply saw someone who needed a friend and became the best friend he could be. One day he would understand the good he did in its entirety, one day he’d be able to feel the same pride that she did. But they were still so little and that day was years away, so she would let them be little.
-
The school year came to a close and the two had grown exceptionally close. This of course called for a celebration from the di angelo family. Maria and Naomi set up the garden tables, while Hades fired up the grill, making small talk with Apollo. Will,Bianca,Hazel and Nico busied themselves by playing chase as they waited on the food.
“Come on Neeks, you’re too slow!”Will giggled as he darted across the lawn, “Me and Bee are getting away!”
“Nu uh!”Nico cried out and pumped his legs even harder trying to catch up. Poor Hazel being the smallest had given up a long time ago and resigned to sit at Maria and Naomi’s feet watching. Eventually Bianca tapped out too and decided that coloring at the table was more her speed. That left Will and Nico laughing madly and running circles around each other.
“It’s nice, huh?”Apollo spoke, poking the jaded man. “Seeing him so happy”
As Hades listened to his child's laughter, a sound even he wasn’t too familiar with, something swelled inside him. He hadn’t seen Nico this happy since they were in italy, and even then he wasn’t this lively. The telltale sign of tears crept up his chest and burned at his nose and throat.
And he let them fall.
He had seen a lot of beautiful things in his life.
But Nico’s happiness was the most beautiful of all.
a/n this was the first one y’all! I really hope you enjoyed it and leave a comment if you did. I really enjoyed writing these two kiddos, makes my heart warm

Ash/Athena Crossover AU: Meeting Danny
@whump-tr0pes and I have lost our fucking minds, thanks for coming everyone, now buckle in for cheerful jackassery. We use each other’s characters in this AU with permission!
Direct continuation from this piece Athena wrote!
“So this is the formal sitting room,” Ryan said, waving cheerfully at a somewhat cavernous space full of comfortable couches perfectly placed to encourage conversation, low side tables with warm lamps, piles of books carefully placed for aesthetic reasons. Big wooden beams cut through the unbroken line of the ceiling above their heads, giving the house an older, worn-in feel. “There’s no TV in here, you’ve noticed, but there’s one in the media room at the back. Oh, and in the secondary family room upstairs.”
“Not a problem, we’re not big TV watchers,” Gray replied smoothly. They were a step or so ahead of everyone else, and Ryan had clearly noticed, directing most of his commentary to Gray first and everyone else second.
“Speak for yourself,” Gavin muttered.
“Oh, nobody speaks for you in the slightest,” Isaac muttered under his breath, without a change to the expression of polite interest he was wearing.
“Ooooh, witty banter,” Ryan said brightly. It was impossible to tell whether he was being sarcastic or if he was genuinely having the time of his life. His eyes ran over Isaac and Gavin with thoughtful consideration, making both men shift a little uncomfortably. “This is going to be a fun weekend.”
“Um. Excuse me?” Sam slowly raised their hand. “Mr. Michaelson?”
Ryan’s eyes had been dancing over the group one by one, but when they hit on Sam they stayed. Ryan’s voice went lower, warm and melodic, and his odd honey-colored eyes locked on Sam’s with real, unfeigned interest. “Okay, first off, you never ever call me Mr. Michaelson, I’m just Ryan to you. And you never have to raise your hand to speak to me.”
“Oh-okay,” Sam said in a voice just above a squeak, face coloring bright red. Isaac’s eyes narrowed. “Um. I’m Sam, I just-”
“Sam? Your name is Sam?” Ryan smiled again - at the flash of brilliance, the team stilled slightly. “Sam, I am so glad to meet you, and I will happily answer any questions you have, any questions at all.” He winked. “No matter how... personal.”
“He’s going to kill me with that,” Tori said in a strained voice.
“Jesus,” Vera muttered under her breath. “He’s going to kill us all with that. At least we’ll die happy.”
“Speak for yourself,” Gavin said again, but swallowed hard, jamming his hands in the front pockets of his jeans like an awkward teenager.
“Isaac’s right,” Vera said airily. “No one speaks for you.”
Either not hearing or choosing to ignore them, Ryan’s focus was still wholly on Sam, moving closer with that same bright smile focused entirely on them. “What do you need, Sam? Our house is at your disposal, just absolutely anything you need, we are here to help.” Ryan gestured around himself. “I’m here to help. All of you. We understand the… delicate position you’ve been put in by the Stormbecks-” Gavin went slightly still as Ryan’s eyes seemed to linger on him as he spoke. “-and that asking us for help is probably an even more delicate position. There’s a reason my parents sent me and didn’t just saddle you with my brother and his goddamn knight in shining armor all weekend. They’re the ones currently staying here full-time.”
“I just, um, wondered why the whole house smells like cookies,” Sam said, very softly, still bright red and with their eyes focused on Ryan.
“Ah, right. That. So speaking of my brother…” Ryan sighed, some of the light falling out of his face. He glanced at Gray, clearly pegging them as the person in charge and the one to talk to. “My people filled you in on his situation?”
Gray nodded. “We appreciated you being so forthright,” They said, words carefully chosen. Ryan held their gaze - and his look at Gray was wholly different than it had been to Sam. Instead of flirtatious interest, he looked, for just a moment, calculating.
“I’ll appreciate your… discretion, if you witness anything that we would appreciate not being taken outside the Michaelson territory while you’re here,” Ryan said quietly. “My brother’s past is not a secret, by any means, but he is still in the process of recovering from it and can occasionally… struggle. If you’re on the run from the Stormbecks…” Ryan was quiet for a half-second, and then simply turned, the light back in his face. “Let me show you the kitchen, and you can meet Danny. And…” He sighed, heavily, rolling his eyes. “Nate.”
When he had turned away, Gavin leaned over to Isaac. “Did you see that?!”
“See what?” Isaac was blinking at Ryan’s back, looking nearly transfixed.
“When he said Stormbeck, he looked at me. Twice! He knows who I am, Isaac, I’m dead. I’m going to die in this fucking three-story bungalow!”
“We’ll send flowers to anyone who can prove they’re actually mourning you,” Vera said smoothly. “And he didn’t look at you the second time. You’re imagining things.”
“I’m not!”
“Are you coming?” Ryan’s voice called out cheerfully from ahead of them. “Danny says he’s ready.” His voice dropped back into that low, velvety flirtation from earlier. “Sam, why don’t you come on in here first and get a look at just why the house smells so good today?”
Sam started walking without thinking, ahead of everyone else, until Isaac grabbed their arm. “Hey, all together until we know what we’re dealing with,” He said, blinking at the look on Sam’s face.
“Oh, uh, r-right,” Sam murmured. “He’s, uh, he’s very… nice, isn’t he?”
“He’s nice all right,” Gavin hissed. “Nice and ready to commit murder.”
“Gavin,” Gray said, reaching out to put a hand on the young man’s shoulder. Gavin flinched, but didn’t pull back, setting his jaw and staring angrily at the ground. “I know this is awkward for you, but these people are our best chance to get through this territory alive. You need to try for politeness while we’re here. It’s just a few days.” They stepped ahead, moving towards a set of wide, rustic wooden doors that clearly led to the kitchen, where the sound of Ryan and another low male voice speaking could be heard.
“If I die, I’m haunting all of you,” Gavin mumbled.
“You’re already haunting us,” Tori said. “You won’t stop haunting us.”
“If the Michaelsons don’t kill us before this weekend is out,” Finn said softly to Ellis, “there’s a distinct chance we’ll just kill each other.”
“Hopefully we get a room to ourselves,” Ellis replied. “We’ll stash a bunch of food and water in it and maybe if we don’t leave we’ll survive the world’s stupidest massacre.”
Ryan popped back out the doors to open them up with little doorstops along the bottom, gesturing inside. “Here we go, illustrious guests! Meet… my brother!”
“And Nate!” The second male voice called.
Ryan rolled his eyes. “And Nate.”
The team had steeled themselves to attempt to survive the charisma of yet another version of Ryan, and what they saw instead had them come to a stop, blinking.
Standing at the huge, industrial-style oven and stovetop was an incredibly tall, thin man with pale freckled skin and wavy, bright-red hair that hung over his eyes where he stood prodding at one of the cookies he’d lined out on a baking sheet, testing it for how soft it was. He turned to look at them with bright blue eyes in a handsome, heavily freckled face, a shy, nervous smile on his face.
“Hey, everyone,” He said. His voice was low and deep, and wavered just a little.
“Oh, Jesus Christ, what the fuck happened to his face?” Gavin whispered under his breath. Isaac elbowed him in the ribs.
A deep scar ran along Daniel Michaelson’s skin, cutting into his jaw and cheekbones, a divot dug deep into the bridge of his nose. Between those points the line was more faded but still prominent.
“Shit, his neck-”
Isaac elbowed Gavin again, harder this time, but he found his eyes drawn there, too.
There was a ring of scarring around Daniel’s neck, just above the high neckline of the heavy knit sweater he was wearing, the obvious marks of a collar worn too tight for too long.
“You’re Daniel Michaelson?” Gray asked, not impolitely but with evident confusion.
Gavin’s eyes went to Ryan and back, blatantly staring. “How can you be his brother? You’re super wh-”
“Gavin,” Isaac said with a groan, “Shut the fuck up or I will tape your mouth shut.”
“He’s adopted,” Ryan said smoothly, apparently unoffended. “As a child. It’s a whole thing. Let’s not talk about that right now. This is Danny, and it was actually his idea to let you stay in this pretty summer house and not one of the clapboard shacks we put our own people up in when they fuck up with other syndicates, so be grateful.”
Danny’s smile hadn’t faded under the scrutiny - nervous and eager-to-please, he seemed smaller than he was in the moment, his shoulders hunched forwards. “You don’t have to be,” He said softly. “Grateful, I mean.”
His eyes ran over all of them, pausing on Isaac and Vera - something in his expression shifting slightly looking at the two of them. It seemed like he lingered a few moments longer on Isaac. “It just seemed like, like the right thing to, um, to do. Nate and I rattle around this house, I thought it might be nice to have… to have company. Do you want a, um, a cookie? It’s chocolate chip, I figured stick to the old standby… everyone likes chocolate chip, I did half of them crispy and half of them soft - and some have M&Ms, I know people like that, and then some others I put walnuts in, and-”
“Can I eat a cookie?” Sam asked, eyes widening at the sheer variety of them. “Please?”
Danny seemed to nearly sag in relief, and he nodded quickly, stepping back from the oven. “Go, um, go ahead! I made, I made a bunch.”
“You made like a hundred,” Sam breathed out, moving forward and tentatively picking up one of the M&M cookies, biting into it with a sigh of pure contentment.
“He cooks when he’s nervous,” Ryan said sidelong to Gray. “Get ready to gain like ten pounds in four days. He spent four hours putting a meal plan together for you.”
“... a meal plan…?” Gray blinked. “We, we couldn’t possibly expect you to-”
“I told you.” Ryan shrugged. “He cooks when he’s nervous, and he’s never not nervous. He had to cook for… for them. Before. Picked up the habit and he’s never dropped it. Trust me, it’s going to be the best fucking food you’ve ever eaten, and if I catch anybody not being effusively grateful, you’re sleeping on the lawn with a gun to your head.” He paused, then grinned. “Just kidding.”
“Are you just kidding?” Tori asked, voice wavering.
Ryan blinked at her. “Honey, I am just kidding if you’re asking about you. As for everyone else…” Ryan looked over the team. “I’m kidding if the ungrateful person is them-” He pointed at Sam. “... or if it’s what I’m guessing is your girlfriend who can kill me with her pinky finger-” He winked at Vera. “Kidding if it’s… well, you I just like-” He shot his brilliant smile at Gray again. “I get the feeling the Silent Types back there would never be so impolite.”
He waggled his fingers at Finn and Ellis.
Finn, baffled, slowly raised a hand to waggle fingers back.
Then Ryan considered Isaac and Gavin, eyes narrowing a little in thought. “Jury’s out on that one,” He said softly. It wasn’t clear which person he meant.
Then he clapped his hands together. “Okay! I need to go confer with our people - sorry, I know this is going to make you nervous, but Mom and Dad insisted our people be crawling over every inch of space outside the house. You understand, we need to keep it all very locked down while you’re here. So, y’know, talk to Danny, me, or Nate if you want to go outside, we’ll make sure everyone knows you’re good to be out there. But go outside without letting someone know, things could get… shoot-y. I’ll be back!”
He popped back through the doors, heading for outside, leaving them there.
“He n-never introduced m-m-me,” A deep, rumbling voice said from the corner.
Danny was the only person in the room who didn’t jump. Instead, his nervous smile shifted into a very, very real one, looking with real love in his eyes to a man who had been sitting, the entire time, at a table in the corner being so perfectly still he’d gone absolutely unnoticed.
He was older than Danny, with green eyes and black hair, and had a look of bored hostility on his face that didn’t change in the slightest as he slowly stood and met their eyes. He was considering each of them - weighing them as a threat that needed dealt with. Gavin shrank against Isaac under the intensity of the stare - until Isaac very discreetly stepped to the side and away from him, leaving him alone.
The man moved with a slight limp to stand in front of them. He was wearing the first gun they’d seen on any of the Michaelsons so far, clipped into a small holster along his right hip.
“I’m N-Nate Vandrum. Danny is d-d-doing a nice thing f-for you. Don’t f-fuck it up,” He said flatly. Over by the oven, Sam picked another M&M cookie up and said something in a low, enthusiastic voice to Danny. Danny grinned and relaxed a little in return, picking up one of the ones with walnuts in it and taking a bite himself.
Something of the hostility in Nate’s face softened, as he looked at them. Then he turned back, and instead of deferring to Gray as Ryan did, Nate’s gaze landed - and stuck - on Vera. “You used to b-b-be law enforcement,” He said, thoughtfully. “You h-h-hold yourself like you w-were, at least.”
Vera nodded, crossing her arms under her chest and looking him right in the eyes. “So did you.”
“Hm. Was g-g-going to be a teacher. My grandp-... parents thought it wasn’t s-safe, with all the s-s-syndicates having different education s-systems now.” Nate twitched a slight, sarcastic smile. “So I w-w-went into the force. Great g-gig, until someone d-d-decides you’re meat.”
Vera nodded again. “That’s a damn fact.”
“I k-killed the last person who hurt D-Danny. Keep it in m-m-mind.”
Vera’s eyebrows raised, slightly. “I’ll do that. Same for my people.”
“I’d expect n-nothing less.”
The two of them looked at each other for a long, long silence, broken only by the sound of the rest of the team shifting awkwardly. Then Nate looked over his shoulder at Danny. “I’m g-g-going to help your b-brother. Are you oh-okay without me?”
Danny, in the process of pulling down a cookbook to show Sam - who was either interested or great at pretending to be - looked back at Nate. For the first time, his smile had the same brilliance in it that came so naturally to Ryan. “I’ve got this. I’m going to get them something to eat and then show them their bedrooms, we’ve got enough for everybody as long as some people don’t mind bunking up. Go on.”
Nate nodded, then looked back at the team. “Like I s-said. Don’t f-f-fuck it up.”
He walked past them without looking back, towards the door.
“I don’t like him,” Gavin muttered.
Vera watched him go, a slight smile on her lips. “I do.”

Discord was all, “what would Danny be like in an AU where he was CEO instead of the Iron Fist?” and then they were like “What would WARD be like if he was the Iron Fist instead of CEO?”, and I was like “wow interesting question and I kind of want to answer but also I have to go to work ttyl” - and then I didn’t reply for like, a week and a half, but - here we go.
So. A role reversal AU where Danny is the CEO of Rand Enterprises and Ward is the Iron Fist.
So maybe in this universe, it wasn’t Madame Gao who approached Harold with an offer to save him. Maybe it was Harold, desperately searching for any way to prolong his own life, who hears whispers about shadows who don’t die, that there’s an organization, and Harold doesn’t even hesitate to offer them a deal in exchange for immortality. It’s nothing to Harold to dip his company into criminal enterprises, after all. He even suggests a solution to the possibility of his straight-laced business partner hindering their business - a plane crash related solution.
But the Hand likes to believe they control everything, and in this universe, it was not their idea to approach Harold Meachum and acquire Rand as a resource. The audacity! This man thinks he can come and use them, an outsider, using their substance, and doesn’t even have the honor to offer a true sacrifice in return, only that which he wouldn’t mind giving up and which he may even be planning on doing with his company and his business partner anyway?
So the Hand says, interesting proposition, meet us in one of our upcoming base locations where we may be able to discuss terms and your supplying the building for our next facility there, and then just as Harold so eagerly suggested a plane crash for his business partner, he finds his own travel to Anzou cut short.
A plane crash may be too showy for the Hand’s usual tastes, but Madame Gao does appreciate the poetic-ism of it.
In another world, Wendall took Heather and Danny with him on his trip to investigate the Anzou facility. In this world, Harold took Ward, for another “lesson” on “being an effective business man”.
Did he bring Joy as well? Spin it as some family vacation time in China after daddy’s business meeting is through? Intend to have Ward watch her while he conducted the more unsavory parts of his business?
If Joy and Ward are both on the plane:
-A: Joy, like Heather, dies in the plane crash, leaving Ward as sole survivor. This would absolutely devastate Ward, and not really work, I think - maybe it would be convenient to create a whole “fueled solely by revenge and with nothing left to lose, Ward channels all his energy and stubbornness and drive into destroying the Hand who took his baby sister” plot line, but… that’s like, Darkest Timeline content, and it makes me sad to think about, and also Ward is at his core more of a “protector of those he loves” guy than a “dark and vengeful” guy, so.
-B: Both children survive the crash. Their father does not. Joy is devastated, and ten years old, and Ward’s first priority is to prevent his little sister from freezing to death on a snowy mountain top in the fucking Himalayas. So how does this go? Ward and Joy both grow up in K'un Lun. Joy wants to go home to Danny and Heather and Wendall and their company, so when the pass opens fifteen years later, she takes off, and Ward goes with her, because of course he does.
Maybe in this world they’re closer, still brought together by living through their father’s death and by having to present a united front against the sharks in the water, even if those sharks are monks sneering at the foreigners this time instead of businessmen looking to tear down the children running a company, but without Ward isolating himself, going down a path of drug abuse and mysterious injuries. Without Joy going to college and law school and struggling to prove herself next to her “prodigy” big brother.
These Meachum siblings go back to New York and to a Danny Rand who lost both of his siblings and his uncle in one fell swoop, who was left alone but for his parents. Wendall and Heather, to their credit, are kind and loving parents who hug him and do their best to support their child through the entire family’s grief and talk to him about death and such, but they are still adults with jobs and responsibilities and a whole lot of workload dropped onto their plates in the fallout of the entire Meachum family’s tragic demises.
How does Danny fare, left all alone? He grieves. He’s lonely. He’s angry at the circumstances, at faulty planes, at the shoddy craftsmanship that must have gone into it because it’s easier to rail against that than the idea that sometimes these things just… happen. He’s even guiltily angry with the Meachums, for leaving him. But he’s also Danny Rand, who came out of tragedy and abuse a kung-fu master ball of hope and light.
So Danny makes the best of things. Maybe when he gets a little older, hits his teenager years, he starts going out. Gets really good at slipping away from his security guards - learns to be light on his feet. Goes to skate parks, marvels at some of the tricks the other kids can do, and starts learning a bit of parkour, just because it’s cool. Maybe he explores the city he only really saw before from penthouse balconies - makes friends with hole-in-the-wall restaurant owners and moving company workers and homeless dudes in the park. Maybe he visits Chinatown, Harlem, Hell’s Kitchen.
Maybe Danny ends up with connections all across the city, and in this universe, all those Rand Enterprises ads about being “for the family” and “there to support people” are a little more true than in another universe where the Hand was pulling Harold’s was pulling Ward’s strings. Wendall and Heather and business school teach Danny not to just give away all their products at cost when he takes over after Wendall either decides to retire early or just steps down into a lower position as part of a planned, gradual transition for the company, but maybe Danny helps set up programs to help get their product to disadvantaged groups without immediately inviting the board to oust him.
Maybe Rand is heavily involved in philanthropy. Maybe a certain portion of those funds go to research on aircraft safety, and to families of plane crash victims. Maybe Danny still always separates out brown m&ms.
And then, one day, two adults show up claiming to be the long dead Joy and Ward Meachum, with a fantastical tale about surviving the plane crash and being raised in a monastery, and coming back now to reconnect with their old friend. They do not say that the monastery was part of a village that only connects to the rest of the world every fifteen years, or that the people there are all part of a cult dedicated to fighting a shadow organization of undead ninja criminals, or that, by the way, Ward punched a dragon in the heart and his fist glows now, because they are not idiots, but it still seems a little too good to be true. Danny wants to believe, but his parents caution him, and Danny’s fingerprint in an old ceramic gift won’t necessarily help ID Joy and Ward Meachum. Still, let’s say the Rands are a lot more willing to civilly work to gain proof one way or the other, and Joy and Ward don’t take offense to the need for verification, and somehow they figure it out and commence awkwardly trying to reconnect now that they’re all adults with different life experiences and nothing turned out how they’d expected it would as children.
And maybe the Meachum siblings get wind of the Hand in New York, or the Hand gets wind of the Iron Fist in New York, and they kind of try to keep Danny out of it but HA like that was ever going to work; they finish fending off a group of attackers in their new penthouse living room and once the ninjas disappear through the top-of-a-skyscraper-window they turn to find Danny standing in the doorway with an army’s worth of Chinese take-out in his arms and his mouth gaping.
They try to play it off. Danny points out that he literally just saw them fighting off fucking ninjas who left through the penthouse window and also Ward’s hand was GLOWING. They hesitantly explain, already formulating a backup plan to insist ‘no officer, Danny was super drunk last night, really,’ in case he calls the mental hospital on them. Danny, to their astonishment, listens seriously to their story, nods, and announces that there are some people he thinks they should meet.
CUE DEFENDERS. How does Danny know them in this AU? Probably through Claire, let’s be honest. He probably keeps bringing random bystanders he finds in trouble on the streets to the hospital and paying all their medical bills, managed to make friends with half the nurses in the city, and was super concerned when one of the hospitals was attacked by ninjas and one of his nurse friends died and another abruptly quit and all the officials were being very hush-hush about it, but Danny has connections with the part of the city that people like to ignore, and there were witnesses that night in the homeless and the street kids and the struggling immigrants working night shift across the street, and he tracks down nurse Claire in Harlem to make sure she’s alright (and to gush about her mother’s cooking, wow, Claire, I didn’t know your family owned a restaurant, that’s so cool!)
…and maybe a few days in to the whole “wow some people claiming to be my childhood friends back from the dead have appeared” business he goes to visit his girlfriend at her struggling dojo that she refuses to let him help with and finds! Claire! learning martial arts! Cool!!
And some other shenanigans, idk, how do timelines work, somehow Danny’s protagonist luck and sunshine power means he manages to meet all the other Defenders at least once somewhere in-between starting to sneak out when he’s fifteen and getting himself adopted by the entire city by the time he’s twenty-five, and then all this Meachum-vs-the-Hand stuff is happening and the city’s favorite billionaire is in the thick of it, and lol guess what Danny your girlfriend has secretly been a member of the Hand this entire time, yeah she didn’t have the “Danny hates the Hand” thing as a reason to hesitate on telling him this time but also their relationship was moving a lot slower when he wasn’t hiding in her dojo from hitmen, so forgive her if she hadn’t quite gotten to the family conversation yet -
- but that’s all part of a lovely universe where K'un Lun makes Ward and Joy more of a unit, and Danny was forced to make other friends with a whole city to choose from rather than just an abusive monastery cult and Davos. Let’s rewind.
Fifteen-year-old Ward is on the plane with Harold. Ten-year-old Joy is at home, staying with the Rands for the duration of Daddy’s boring business trip.
The plane goes down.
Ward finds the pilots with black creeping up their veins. He finds Dad, dead in the snow. He’s at a loss, and a little sad, but also, guiltily, relieved.
He’s free.
He’s also stranded on a snowy mountaintop and likely to freeze to death, cold and alone and without ever seeing Joy again.
Ward is stubborn beyond belief. He has an iron core of contrary asshole-ness that got him through 30 years of abuse. He never gives up without a fight. He never gives up, period.
He picks a direction, and starts walking.
There are monks. Maybe he didn’t find his own salvation. Maybe the monks saw the crash and came to investigate, and found a teenager trudging through the snow. But he wasn’t collapsed in the ice. He stubbornly insists that he might have made it on his own, that they didn’t rescue him. He’s not helpless. He’s not.
This one has fight, the monks murmur to each other. There is fire in his spirit.
They take him back to the village, where there is warmth, and food, and dry clothing, and a tree that smells like brown sugar. Ward wants a phone, so he can call the Rands. Explain what happened. Talk to Joy.
We don’t have phones here.
Fair enough, it is a monastery on top of a mountain in the Himalayas. Ward doesn’t know why anyone would want to live in a monastery on top of a mountain in the Himalayas, but he doesn’t really care. There must be a way they get down the mountain, for supplies and stuff. There must be a way people get up the mountain, to visit the monastery. Ward wants to go home.
The pass is closed. K'un Lun sits on another plane of existence. The pass only opens once every fifteen years, and then it is guarded by the Iron Fist, to protect us from the Hand. You can not leave.
Ward has managed to walk himself right into the clutches of a new enemy. These people intend to imprison him.
Ward has never been a planner, but he has tenacity in spades. Over the next month he makes 21 escape attempts.
“There’s no point,” says one of the bratty monk children that’s taken to following him around. Ward knows this one is the child of the head monk here. His father taught him to look out for political details like that. He doesn’t know the kid’s name, and he doesn’t care. David or something. (His father was always disappointed in Ward for failing those lessons too.)
Ward ignores him. He takes off into the snowy wind - walks and walks and nearly freezes in the cold and when he finally spots lights in the distance and makes his way to salvation, it’s just fucking K'un Lun again.
He doesn’t give up. He doesn’t. But. It might be smart to recuperate. Conserve his resources. Break into the monks’ plum wine barrels. Serves them right if their captives steal their stupid wine. Stupid monks.
Some asshole makes a remark about his foreigner status. Ward swings a punch at them. They take him down in two seconds, and laugh about it. They sneer at him, mock him.
He’ll show them.
Ward trains in their stupid kung-fu cult school. The teachers are harsher on him than all of their students, he can tell. They’re trying to break him. Jokes on them, Ward has survived Harold Meachum for fifteen years. In another life, he makes it for thirty, kills the bastard, and thrives. This is nothing.
The harder they try to break him, the stronger the steel in Ward’s spine holds him up. Fuck them, and their fucking pass, and their kung-fu cult, and their pretty little prison. Ward claws his way to the top on pure spite.
He becomes the Iron Fist.
The monks have grown complacent, after fifteen years. They send him outside, into the pass, alone and away from the village even as he’s expected to guard it. The Hand could travel between the outside world and K'un Lun. Anyone could.
Idiots.
A bird flies overhead, and Ward feels triumph.
He’s finally going back to New York.
In New York, at Rand Enterprises, there are Danny and Joy. After the tragic death of her remaining family, Joy is adopted by the Rands. She keeps her last name. She acknowledges Heather and Wendall as her parents, but still calls them by their first names. They all go to visit Harold’s and Ward’s graves every year, on the anniversary, and also on their birthdays, on Father’s Day, sometimes just when they’re passing by or having a bad day, or have life milestone news to share, like when Joy gets into law school, or when Danny is thinking he might want to let Joy and his parents handle the business and become a nurse.
Both times Joy and Danny get older than Ward ever got to be, they hole up in one of their rooms together and go through 3 bottles of wine, and their parents don’t ground them in the morning. Danny visits Joy on campus, and she rolls her eyes but grins as she introduces him to her friends. Joy holds Danny’s hand while he comes out to his parents as bi. Danny and Joy put all the brown m&ms in a dish in front of an empty seat, for Ward, even though he was never a part of that game with them. When they play monopoly, no one ever uses “Ward’s piece”. In this universe, Joy and Danny are the close siblings - not codependent, like Joy and Ward were, but best friends, in a way that Joy and Ward weren’t.
Joy did not have to fight tooth and claw to prove to herself that she could live up to her father’s legacy or her brother’s reputation. She becomes a cutthroat business woman with a strategic mind, but she also knows how to put away the shark teeth in her personal life. Danny grows up on neither the hope of seeing the rest of his family again nor with the weight of having to start over and make new friends. He, Joy, and Ward were isolated kids, and he and Joy stay fairly isolated once Ward is gone, since they still have each other.
Danny has a sunshine nature, and he still learns the names and faces of all the Rand employees. He still chats cheerfully with all the delivery people and waiters and checkout clerks that cross his path. But - he’s not as lonely, here. He’s more content in his upper-class world, schmoozing at the charity galas even if he’d much rather be camped at the refreshment table, and he talks to the catering staff just as much as the bigwigs he’s supposed to be networking with. He puts on his tuxedo and accompanies Joy to orchestral concerts, and he is absolutely the big gun his family breaks out when they need to show a client someone earnest and hopeful and who truly believes in the good of their company.
When Ward comes back, he may lose his temper on the security team at Rand. Just a little. He’s come so far, and he’s waited so long, and he’s SO CLOSE to seeing his baby sister again, and these idiots think they can stop him?
So maybe he breaks past them. It’s not the smartest move, but. Dad always said Ward didn’t think things through. And Joy is right there, only a few floors away. He won’t be stopped now.
He busts into her office. Joy threatens to call security. Danny rushes in, and they stand side-by-side, a united front, examining this stranger claiming to be their dead brother.
Ward’s goal, all these years, has mostly been about getting back to Joy. But he can’t deny that when he thought about her, sometimes he’d think about Danny, too. It was unavoidable - they share so many memories, after all. It’s always been Joy-and-Danny, and big-brother-Ward, their whole lives. Joy-and-Danny-and-babysitter-Ward. Joy-and-Danny playing make believe and Ward, being an asshole.
So Ward stands frozen in the doorway, and just as he’d exclaimed “Joy!” when he burst in, he now breathes “Danny?”
And Danny and Joy have always been the more hopeful of the three siblings, the two who want to believe, who can look at a package of m&ms and think ’it’s a dream come true.’
They look at the way the stranger hasn’t made any move to hurt them, and the way he looks like Ward, and the way he can’t keep his eyes off of Joy, but not in a creepy way like so many businessmen they’ve had to deal with: in a way that seems so relieved and hopeful - and they run a DNA test. Joy is right there, after all, and there’s no question about her identity. They’re literally standing in their pharmaceutical company. They pop down to one of the labs and Danny asks Eva if she could do him a favor, pretty please with a cherry on top, and Eva laughs and says “you got it, Mr. Rand,” and Danny whines “Eva, I keep telling you, it’s Danny,” and Eva grins and says “whatever you say, Mr. Rand,” and basically Ward is Ward and they’re in for some complications what with all the telling Wendall and Heather they have to do and the reviving Ward legally they have to do, and the getting to know him again after fifteen years of thinking he was dead, and Joy definitely snaps at some point down the line and screams at Ward and cries and hits his chest going “you left, you left, you left,” and Danny had gotten used to telling Ward’s ghost all his woes and relying on an idealized version of him and is now suddenly remembering with trepidation what an asshole Ward actually was, and. it’s gonna be a rough time. It’s gonna be a rough time, but they’ll get through it, because they all refuse not to.
….And maybe we still have to deal with the part where Ward is the Iron Fist, and the Hand are in New York, and maybe Ward doesn’t actually give a flying fuck about stopping the Hand or anything that fucking monk cult kept going on about, but the Hand sure does care about manipulating the Iron Fist into doing its bidding. And Ward may not care about K'un Lun, but like HELL is he going to sit back and twiddle his thumbs when those assholes inevitably threaten his family.
“You will not touch them,” Ward seethes, and suddenly his fist is glowing and he’s beating the assailants up, and his fist is glowing and is that a tattoo, and Ward’s FIST IS GLOWING.
“What the fuck, Ward.”
“Right,” Ward says, pushing back his hair. “There’s something else I should tell you.”

N/A: Thinking about Kitty as Kymri thanks to a conversation with Danny and later another conversation with djinmer4 where the idea of Kitty being blue would change a few things in canon. Ok, first Kurt will be tsu tsu here (not unlikeable one. I promise) also, the shade of blue I´ll use is Baby Blue for her skin(her eyes and hair are still brown) and of course, she is 18 here (a perfect age for this story). Another point in this story is how it will show Rogue x Dazzler X Longshot.
@dannybagpipesarecalling @djinmer4 @bamfoftheundead @everykurt @muninandhugin
It starts rather innocuously if Rogue can say so or if one can believe something can start innocently when a robotic creature from outer space- to be precise as Cyclops likes to be, sometimes, the creature comes from the MojoVerse-decides to attack the X-men because, well, it will increase the rates and please the bosses. Longshot, the resident alien knows how to defeat the robot, but, Longshot lack words to explain the weakness of the foe. So, he turns to Rogue and asks. "Can you...?" the question is polite and Rogue would chuckle if the foe wasn´t a real danger.
However, when she did touch him...Her eyes widen and her mouth opens comically. "I can touch you..." she speaks mesmerized and in the end, thanks to Longshot´s lucky power and a bit of Colossus strength...the day is saved.
Rogue is not sure if she did something in that particular fight-she only recall this monumental moment- and when Northstar was passing by asking if she´s alright in his aloof and in the Canadian way if she was alright all Rogue offers is a big grin. "I can touch him..."
Northstar is gaze at her in a deadpan way. "Good for you, I guess...But I think you´ll have competition" Northstar now looks to the other side where Dazzler, Alisson Blaire, is talking in a chipper way with Longshot, and Rogue stops the grin.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
"Uhm...are you sure this is ok?" The voice of a younger woman breaks the silence of the car to look at the two women who are guiding this new adventure-Ororo Monroe did explain a few hours before in the Ice Cream shop about the X-men and how their missions are to protect humans and mutants and Jean Grey was there to promote the idea of co-existence with humans and as Kitty observed is not completely far fetched in some places- and her question did make the older women gaze at her. "I mean, I´m all up to be a heroine and all that, but, is everything ok with blue?" Kitty asked subtle looking at the driver who didn´t look to any one of the X-ladies.
Ororo simpers as she knew this would be an issue and her mind is drifting to the few blue residents in the mansion, Jean, on the other hand, doesn´t need to read her friend´s mind to know who she´s thinking and what she´ll say right now.
"I didn´t tell you this before...but, we have one very famous blue mutant and trust me, no one has a problem with him" Ororo promised and Jean looks to the other side and mentally adds.
Ororo...you don´t know the curse of knowing what people are thinking and that´s a blessing.
"Wait...No one makes a big deal about him being blue?"
"Nope, and he´s very popular"
Jean would like to inwardly add Kurt´s popularity may not be the best fame an 18 years old woman needs to know, but, then again...Kitty's only interaction with azzure people is her father and one evil alien who wanted to kill people in Chicago.
Maybe, Kurt is the best option here...
Ororo can´t read minds, yet, when it is about Jean Grey she truly doesn´t need as she looks at her exasperated for a moment and Jean changes the topic of the conversation before Ororo lecture her again about Kurt´s past and not being too judgmental.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Dazzler is over the moon and it shows on her body language and even on her voice- right now, she´s making something in the kitchen and is more energetic than normal- and it attracts attention from Betsy Braddock and Kurt Wagner. The British woman claps her hands and can´t help herself. "Oh, someone is happy...good news or really good news?" Betsy asked as Dazzler aka Alisson Blaire give her attention.
Kurt will never say this to anyone-for obvious reasons that his denial shield can´t let him forget- but Alisson´s hair looks a lot like Amanda´s and is soothing as it is painful to see. Stop, Kurt...is just hair and they´re two different people altogether.
"Oh, someone is coming here. Remember one of those girls I was mentioning another day? She had a great voice and is a mutant just like me....anyway, she is coming here and we´ll get a new mutant" now Dazzler looks at Kurt with a mock stern face. "Kurt, I expect you to be nice to my friend.
Kurt flashes a smile and is charming as always. "If is a friend of Dazzler...then she must be a lovely person and a great addition to the X-men"  and Kurt tries to imagine how this person will be.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Kitty Pryde finally enters on the mansion-baby steps as she hates to admit she´s nervous but she can´t lie very well- and inside meet many people. A Russian man named Piotr and his cute little sister, Cyclops aka Scott Summers and one face she already knew. "Dazzler!" she exclaims in her joyful way. And Dazzler responds by saying Kitty´s moniker in the same way. "Shadowcat" and a hug happens.
"Welcome to the X-men, Kitty, hope you can survive the experience" and Dazzler laugh and Kitty inwardly hopes this is a joke- she looks around to see if is a joke, but no one is confirming or denying anything- oh...what hell I get myself into? She thought slightly panicking.
The next one to introduce herself was Elisabeth Braddock-a, proper British lady if Kitty ever saw one- wearing purple and pink and makes no mention of Kitty´s tone of the skin.
And finally, her doe eyes meet one person in the high section of the staircase who is petrified, yet, he´s blue like her. Indigo and Baby Blue are still blue in the end.
"Hi" Kitty begins with stars in her eyes, and at the same time, caution. She won´t come to him-the alien lady did make Kitty went to her...she almost lost her life that day- "Are you Nightcrawler?"
And Kurt nods using his words as Ororo and Jean are frowning at him and Jean is putting her hands on her waist- and Kurt notices how the others are slowly drifting away from Jean and Ororo, even Scott Summers who is married to Jean- and Kurt clears his throat as he looks at the azzure man.
"Hello, nice to meet you" Kurt replied bowing imperceptibly at Kitty and offering to kiss her hand-her hand is so soft and smooth. Raven´s hands are cold, but, then again...Kurt suspects cold blood is what her frozen heart pumps-"What´s your name, fair madchen?"
Kitty blinks and makes one question. "My name or my moniker? If is the later my name is Shadowcat" and Kurt recalls how Mystique always introduces herself as Mystique. And Kurt spends the rest of the day peering at Kitty Pryde-is her name as she later told him once she got his stare and Kurt was forced to ask for her real name- and he is deeply confused.
She´s blue.
She´s beautiful.
She´s...not Mystique.
Kurt deviates his thoughts and attention from Kitty Pryde to focus on his sister-not that sister, never that person...and his mind prefers to think about Blue Kitty than that person again- who is looking at Longshot talking to Dazzler about something. She sighs dreamily.
"Rogue?" Kurt asked in concern. Did Longshot hurt her? Rogue looks at her brother-not that brother, she disowned Fabian Cortes from her life just like he did with her- and doesn´t even register in her mind to lie to Kurt.
"I think I´m in love with Longshot..." He can touch me
"Oh...well, in that case, why stay here sighing and suffering? You´re Rogue..." Kurt said that forgetting about her powers but she flashes a nice smile at him.
"You´re right...I'll not suffer. Kurt...I can touch him" she giggles excitedly as this is a present from Christmas and off she goes to get Longshot´s attention. Meanwhile, Kurt is back to the Blue Kitty.
She´s blue...not like me...and not like HER?

Okay that's all very interesting. Does Au Jason use hand to hand more than firearms unlike in canon? Does he have the All Caste's more magical abilities? Does he use them? i can see him basically leaving the magic to the others unless necessary. like i can picture them having a joint mission with the Titans or something and Jason surprising them by teleporting into a building or something. Since you started talking about this AU i've pictured Jason constantly fighting in his all cast uniform
2/2 does he or does he still wear the red hood outfit? How is his Mental health better? If he's not indifferent to the batfamily then how does he feel about them? What things did e hear from his friends? How does he feel about the other older Titans? I know Jason had to go on more than just a couple missions based on the fact that he knew Danny well enough to have a nickname from him so he at least hung around the tower as Robin. Did his improved mental state mean Talia let him meat Damian?
That's a bit more in depth than I thought you wanted. Okay then.
Cannon Jason got his small arms training after egon, so while AU Jason still has some of those skills, he's not as good at them as he would have been, he still keeps the guns around though because practicality, a lot of the All Caste stuff isn't that good for normal type problems. He does default to more of the All Caste stuff on a regular basis, because he doesn't really deal with that normal type stuff when Eddie's around. Like I said, he's been with them a lot longer than in cannon, so he's got the All Blades, his evil destroying punch, some advanced healing, if you've seen the All Caste do something, Jason's at least learning it. He's still young though, especially compared to people who are hundreds of years old, so he can't really do all of it yet.
I also picture him with the All Caste uniform for the most part, because 1) He's been with them for years at this point, any other clothes he has he picks up on his 'vacations' and they're not usually sturdy enough for trouble. 2) The uniform is likely to have some sort of magic resistance given where it comes from, and 3) It looks pretty cool. I imagine he has some kind of a mask with it when he's around most other heroes, but I'm always waffling on whether it's a plane facemask, or a red hood like helmet because again, practicality. It could go either way at this point. He probably plans to be Red Hood when he gets back to Gotham, but :/ that's on hold.
The biggest plus to his mental health is that he has friends to call him out when he's being overdramatic and talk him down when he starts getting self destructive. It goes both ways, and staying level headed for when a friend needs his help, helps him check himself there too. Then there's also the lack of being in such close proximity with people who only reaffirmed his worst beliefs about other people like he was in Lost Days. Some of his cannon training took place in a warzone with child soldiers and I'm sure that was a big part of what turned him so against heroes with kid sidekicks.
His thoughts on the Batfam are complicated. He can never be indifferent to them, because he does love then. Bruce is his dad, he will always think of Bruce that way, and of Alfred as a grandfather, and Dick as his brother, and he will always be hurt by all of the things that hurt him in cannon. On top of that, he heard about all of the 'reckless, violent, failed Robin' stuff from his friends, first from Eddie, who didn't have context and didn't understand, and also from some others who didn't know at first that Jason is the Robon they're talking about. That sort of took him from being hurt, to being pissed enough to raise hell, and then circled him back around to not wanting to be near enough to spit at them. He wants to not care, but he can't, and he knows he can't, but he pretends anyway and makes plots for revenge he also knows he'll never have the emotional energy left to take.
I always assumed his friendship with Danny was long distance like with Eddiez because Bruce didn't like Jason being around the Tower. He might have gone on some offscreen missions with them though. In cannon, bbyJason did get along well with Roy, and Jericho, and he had that puppy crush on Donna. If he crosses paths Either Roy or Donna, he'd probably get along well enough with them so long as they don't know who he is. If they figure it out though, they'd want to tell Dick, because he's their friend, and even if they promised not to, Jason probably wouldn't trust them. Countdown is probably still a thing here, so he'd get pretty attatched to Donna and maybe Kyle during that.
With Joey, it depends wildly on what exact point they interacted again, because wow, that's one of the character's cannon massively screwed over.
In general, he'd probably avoid any superhero teams with bats on their rosters because he doesn't want to risk dealing with them.
I honestly haven't even considered whether Jason would meet Damian before the kid went to Bruce, and then it's through Dick, not Talia.
Hope I covered all of your questions this time.

So, I wrote more in my Dystopian AU [FF | AO3].... Y’know, the competent Guys in White one.
He had to go in, but knowing that didn't make it any easier--or take away the risks.
“You have to go in,” Danny said. “Please. Jazz is smart, but she doesn’t know half this stuff. You do. We need you on the inside.”
Tucker bit his lip. “Dude, this isn’t cool. They know we’re friends. They’re gonna know I was working with you. They aren’t going to expect me to stop.”
“Then we give them a fight,” Sam suggested. “Something big. Showy. Convince them of your loyalties that way.”
Tucker pulled a face. “We can’t risk not convincing them, though. If they don’t think I’m legit, they’ll just wash me. Wipe away any pesky sympathies and whatever else.” He wasn’t sure what the Guys in White were doing to brainwash people, but he knew it was effective. They all did.
His words sobered the other two. It was only the three of them in this meeting, huddled in an old outpost of what had once been the lobby of Val’s apartment building in Elmerton. It wasn’t Amity Park, but the ghosts had never made much of a distinction between the two, and they knew its streets from fights long past. From Before.
It was familiar ground, but it wasn’t something the Guys in White expected them to know as well as they did. They weren’t safe here, exactly—the GiW even knew Danny was Phantom—but this was safer than other places. Besides, the Box Ghost had said he’d cause a distraction, and Pandora had let him borrow her box. It would buy them time, if only because the GiW wouldn’t—shouldn’t—be expecting a hydra to turn up.
“Then we convince them you’re a traitor to our side,” Sam said.
Tucker and Danny stared at her. “What?” they asked in unison.
“We can’t risk them washing you. We can’t lose you. But they won’t wash you if they think you have valuable information that might be lost in the process.”
“No, they’ll just torture me! Newsflash, Sam. That’s not better.” Anyone the GiW washed white was ‘freed’ from their past loyalties. The cleansing washed away all their dirty little secrets that helped them hold onto the promise of fixing this mess of a world, but it could also affect memories associated with those loyalties. He wasn’t too sure whether it destroyed them completely or just made them too unreliable to count on when it came to information extraction, but if he was labelled a sympathiser, a rebel, it wouldn’t matter. They had no qualms about torturing someone until they saw the error of their ways and then begged to be cleansed by them, washed and returned to society. It was sickening but effective. Most people didn’t realize their methods, and since they’d begun hammering areas where the information got out, those in the rebellion weren’t keen on spreading it around, either, unless they were already on the move.
It was hindering the whole recruiting process, exactly as the Guys in White wanted.
Sam punched him in the arm. “They won’t need to torture you if you give up the information willingly.”
“What?” he repeated. That sounded entirely too much like actually being a traitor, and the rebellion was too small to afford that. Sure, Danny had made a truce with most of the ghosts easily enough; most of them didn’t want to leave Earth, and of those that remained behind, few thought so much of themselves that they believed they could defeat the Guys in White alone. At least, few did after rumours got out about how the first ones had been torn apart, and almost none had tried it since the release of that footage. But the ghosts were more of a hindrance than a help in populated areas, where citizens had been issued basic ghost hunting tech that included the equivalent of Fenton Finders meant to ferret them all out, and it took flesh and blood humans to break through ghost shields and convince others to join their cause.
Just last week, he’d come across a pair of kids not much younger than he was, scavenging for food. He wasn’t sure how they’d ended up outside the cities, but he hadn’t been about to ask at the time. Instead, he’d told them that they didn’t have to live like this, that it didn’t have to be this way, that they could change things if they just fought back—
The older one had pegged him as a rebel right away. Threatened to report him and reap the reward. Made it clear he wasn’t afraid to fight if it would get him some proof that the report wasn’t a false one, that it was an actual lead on the location of the rebels, if not a captured rebel himself.
It was the younger brother who’d asked questions. Who’d given Tucker a chance to explain the truth. Who’d convinced his brother to join the rebel cause, for a place to belong if nothing else. Walker had vetted and approved both of them at the way station. They hadn’t been threats, just kids who’d needed help to survive, who’d been willing to do anything for it. He’d helped give them a purpose.
He…he didn’t want to throw all that away.
“Tell them something they don’t know,” Sam said slowly. “Something real. Just something small to start. Let them check it out and confirm it. And then give them something else. And then, when they demand something bigger, give them that, too. It’ll hurt us, but we’ll be stronger in the end. They won’t be surprised that your information is less reliable after the third attack—they have to know we’ll be adjusting our plans—but they won’t be willing to wash you, either. You might know something they don’t realize is valuable, that you don’t realize is valuable, and they won’t want to lose that.”
Tucker shook his head. “They’ll want names.”
“They have most of our names,” Danny pointed out. “Between the death registration and the last census—”
“Then they’ll want locations!”
“Yeah, they will, and you’ll have to give some of them up.” Sam crossed her arms. “I said this’ll hurt us. It’s not believable if it doesn’t hurt us. But you can’t chicken out, either. If you lie, it won’t work, and they’ll wash you white, and then this will have been for nothing. Your knowledge is your leverage, Tuck. Make sure they know what you’re bringing to the table, and they’ll be too greedy to let you go to waste.”
Tucker let out a slow breath. “Even if you’re right, even if they let me in without washing me, doesn’t mean I’ll be put in a position where I can help. Jazz won’t be able to help me. It would raise too many flags and blow her cover. And with the number of people watching me, I’d blow my own cover if I so much as hacked my own computer to disable to spyware.”
“That’s why you need to earn their trust,” Sam said bluntly.
Tucker groaned and looked at Danny. “Technus and I can keep hacking into their servers from here, man. We don’t need to risk this. Seriously.”
Danny glanced away. “I’m not sure that’s true,” he mumbled.
“What? They didn’t actually catch Technus, did they?”
Danny looked back at him and shook his head. “No, but he’s running into more blocks every day. Jazz can’t make him a back door. You can. And…and the more we can find out, the better. We need more than one person on the inside, and you could establish a reliable communication link for us. Please, Tuck.”
Tucker swallowed. “If it doesn’t work,” he croaked, “if they wash me, I’ll…. It wouldn’t just be an act anymore. I’d be ready to destroy you.”
Danny smirked. “I’m used to the feeling.”
It was a lie, or at least the nonchalance behind it was. Tucker knew that. Lying was what Danny did, even now.
“Just feed us what you can,” said Sam, ever the practical one. “We won’t act on everything, and we’ll double check what we can before we do act. We don’t want them thinking they’ve got a mole and feeding out false information to catch them.”
Tucker’s mouth twisted. “They wouldn’t bother with that. They’d just wash everyone for good measure. No skin off their noses. They’re too indoctrinated themselves to know the difference.”
“Information,” reminded Sam.
“That information’s gonna have an expiry date,” Tucker muttered. “It wouldn’t save me forever.”
“It doesn’t need to be forever. It just needs to be for long enough.”
“But what if it’s not?” Fine. He was scared. He could admit it. He was terrified. Danny and Sam wanted him to waltz into the lion’s den and play double agent. If he wasn’t washed, he could be tortured. Or just plain shot.
Or the Guys in White might realize what he was up to and use him to lead his friends into a trap. That was by far the worst option, but it was also the most likely, whether they washed him in the end or not. What if they extracted what information from him that they could, washed him, and fed him that information back? He’d happily use it against his friends then, and it’s not like he’d wind up in close enough contact with Jazz for her to tell.
And even if she could, there’s no guarantee she’d find a way to send a message. Her communications with them were spotty at best. His going in wouldn’t improve that, not when he had to keep his distance from her to maintain both their covers. Come to that, they wouldn’t even be able to assure her that he wasn’t a traitor, and he wouldn’t blame her for thinking he might be once his information proved to be good. And—
And he was thinking about this as if it were already a done deal, risks and all.
Sam reached over and squeezed his hand, which was a big deal, considering she wasn’t big on the showing her feelings like that after so many years of hiding what she felt for Danny. He would have taken more comfort in it if he didn’t know it was a futile attempt to balance out her not-so-comforting words. “We’ll do what we can and make the best of whatever happens.”
Danny didn’t say anything. He just waited for Tucker to make his choice known. Danny wouldn’t make him go in, not even with everything that was at stake. Sam would try, but Danny would let him make his own decision, even if ‘making his own decision’ included a few dozen guilt trips and pleas before it was actually decision time.
Like it was now.
To say going in was risky was a major understatement, but they couldn’t afford him not going in, either. Danny was right: they needed more than one person on the inside, and not just in case Jazz got compromised. They were short allies and needed more information. Anything he could do would help them…until they caught him.
Tucker sighed and looked at Sam. “Maybe you should take a harder swing at me, just to help sell the whole traitor thing.”
Sam grinned and cracked her knuckles. “I’ll just pretend you’re Agent W,” she said, and she was on her feet and a fist was flying towards his face before he could change his mind.
He woke up in the ruins of the Nasty Burger with some pickpocket wannabe rifling through his jacket. He could still feel the hard lump of the flash drive sewn into his collar, so he hissed a warning at her and let her get away with her appropriated beef jerky. It was the best he could do for her now. Besides, if they believed him, they’d feed him at HQ, and if they didn’t, a lack of food was going to be the least of his problems.

The last couple things I’ve written for the Reverse Portal Stanley McGucket AU have been a bit angsty and bleak, so here.  Have something in that AU which is very much neither of those things.  Stan makes pancakes and pets a bunny!  Emily gets stuck in a sousaphone!  Emmett swears!  All this and more, with none of the angst I usually write for this AU.
Stan flipped the pancake over.  While he waited, he glanced down at his prosthetic arm.  When Angie had left in the morning, she’d stuck a few notes on it with magnets.  He slipped one off and smiled fondly at the message.
“What are you doin’?” a voice asked, startling Stan into dropping the spatula.  He stared at his utensil now on the kitchen floor.
              “Aw, shit,” Stan muttered.
“Dad, don’t swear.  What if it was Emily or Emmett who spooked ya?”  Stan turned around.
“Good mornin’, princess,” Stan said to his oldest child, 15-year-old Danny. Danny crossed her arms.  “Look, if either of ‘em heard a swear, it’s not that bad. Teachin’ kids swears prepares them for the real world.”
“Uh-huh.  Then how come you don’t swear around us all the time?”
“‘Cause the rest of society doesn’t agree with me and I don’t want you kids to get in trouble.  Also, yer ma got really stubborn about it when you said your first word.”  Danny blinked.  “Your ma never told you your first word?”
“Yes, she did.  My first word was ‘daddy’.”
“That’s a cute lie.  But still a lie.”  Stan turned back to the stove and quickly pulled a new spatula out from a nearby drawer. He removed the pancake from the pan, placing it carefully on top of the already large stack on the counter.
              “Ma doesn’t lie.”
“She did about yer first word.”
“Then what was my real first word?” Danny prompted.  Stan eyed his precocious daughter.
“…I’ll tell ya when you’re older.”
              “Dad!”
“Hey, your ma kept it from ya fer a reason.”
“Hmph.”  Danny peered over his shoulder.  “I’ll go back to my original question, then.  What are ya doin’?”
              “What does it look like?”
              “Makin’ breakfast.”
              “That’s what I’m doin’.”
“You don’t need to,” Danny said.  “We can fend for ourselves, y’know.”
“I know.  I want to. This is my first time takin’ care of the four of ya on my own.  I’m gonna make breakfast.”
              “But you don’t need-”
“Princess, I’m the parent.  You’re the kid.  Remember?” Stan said firmly.  Danny pursed her lips.  “Ya don’t need to take care of me.  I’m supposed to take care of you.” Danny looked down at her feet.
              “I just-”
“You’ve got too much of your ma in you, is what it is,” Stan said.  “That ain’t a bad thing.  But you don’t have to act the adult, okay?  That’s what I’m here for.”
“…Yeah,” Danny said quietly.  Stan kissed the top of her head.
“If you wanna be helpful, go get your siblings.  Accordin’ to the millions of notes your ma left me, we’ve got a busy day, so they need to get up.”
-----
“First thing on the list…high school open house,” Stan mumbled, reading one of Angie’s notes as he walked into Gravity Falls High School.  He glanced over at Daisy, who was walking alongside him.  “Why does your ma bother goin’ to these things?”
“Usually Uncle Lute takes us,” Daisy explained.  “It’s so that we can figure out where our classes are before the school year starts.  It’s kinda pointless.  But Uncle Lute really liked doin’ it.”
“I don’t mind it,” Danny, on the other side of Stan, put in.  “I get to catch up on gossip and talk to teachers.”
“Yeah, there are some upsides.  I heard we’re getting some new flautists in the band this year.  Gotta make sure they’re not good enough for me to worry about,” Daisy said with a grin.
“Smart girl.  You gotta size up your enemies,” Stan said, nodding.  Daisy giggled.  Stan looked around.  “Aw, crud, did we lose your brother and sister already?”
“Right here, Dad,” Emily said, appearing seemingly out of thin air. Stan squinted at his daughter.
“What were you up to, squirt?”
              “Nothin’.”
              “I don’t believe you.  Where’s Emmett?”
              “He went to the bathroom.”
“Without tellin’ me.”  Stan sighed. “Where’s the bathroom?”
“It’s right over there,” Emmett said, joining his sisters and father. Stan stared at him.
              “Where’d you come from?”
              “The bathroom.”
“Dang kids poppin’ outta nowhere,” Stan muttered.
“Don’t blame us just ‘cause ya don’t know the school’s layout,” Emily said snarkily.  Stan ruffled her hair.
“Cool it, kiddo.  All right, what ‘re we doin’ first?” Stan asked Danny and Daisy.
“Let’s go to the band room,” Daisy said.  Danny shook her head.
“No, I want Dad to meet Mr. Montague.  We’re closer to his classroom than the band room anyways.”
              “Who’s Mr. Montague?” Stan asked.
“The engineering teacher,” Daisy answered.  She shrugged.  “He’s all right.”
“He’s great,” Danny said.  She grabbed Stan’s arm.  “Come on, Dad!”
“Okay, okay, I’m comin’.  Don’t pull so hard princess; you’ll yank my arm off.”
“Hey, at least Danny and Uncle Fidds could make you another robot arm,” Emily said cheerfully.  She gasped. “Dad!  You could have two robot arms!”  Stan laughed.
“That does sound pretty great, doesn’t it?  But I’m fine with just the one.  For now.”
-----
Stan stroked the classroom rabbit that Daisy had shoved into his arms.
              “What’s this sucker’s name again?”
              “Edison,” Daisy answered.
              “Like the lightbulb guy?”
              “Yeah.  Isn’t he soft?”
“Your sister and uncle mighta made me a dang good arm, but it can’t feel things,” Stan said.  He looked down at the rabbit, Edison.  “Kinda surprised that Bugs here isn’t scared of my prosthesis.”
“His name is Edison,” Danny said, joining her father and siblings.  She turned to the man she had brought with her. “Mr. Montague, this is my dad.”
“Take this thing,” Stan mumbled to Emily, dumping the rabbit in her arms. He held out a hand to Mr. Montague. “Stan Pines.  Like Danny said, I’m her dad.”
“I have to admit, I was surprised when Danica told me that she wanted me to meet her father,” Mr. Montague said.  “I mean, Dr. McGucket-Pines didn’t seem like she was keen on remarrying.” Stan stared at him.
              “…Remarrying?”
              “She’s a widower.  You didn’t know that?”
              “No.”
“Oh.  That seems like something she would mention to her new husband.”
“No, buddy, I meant that Angie’s not a widower.  I’m Danny’s biological father.”  Stan huffed quietly.  “You’re definitely not the genetics teacher, if you can’t tell how much she looks like me,” Stan muttered under his breath.
“Dad!” Danny hissed.  She cleared her throat.  “Mr. Montague, my dad’s been gone for a while, but he came back.”
“…Oh.”  Mr. Montague smiled apologetically.  “Sorry about that.  If you don’t mind me asking, where…?”
“Overseas,” Stan grunted.  Mr. Montague’s eyes widened.
“Oh!  Oh, I understand.  My, uh, my brother-in-law, he was a POW for a few years,” Mr. Montague said.  Stan opened his mouth to correct him.
              …It’s not worth it.
“Yeah, I was gone a lot longer than I planned,” Stan said.  “Missed out on a lot.”
“I’m very sorry to hear that.  But thank you for your service.”
              “Uh, you’re welcome.”
“Mr. Montague, I wanted you to see my dad’s new arm,” Danny said.  “He lost his arm while he was gone, so my Uncle Fidds and I made him a new one.”
“Really?  Your uncle is a phenomenal engineer.  Mr. Pines, would you mind?” Mr. Montague asked.
“Yeah, sure.”  Stan popped off his prosthetic arm and handed it to his daughter’s engineering teacher. “Go nuts.”  He looked over at his other children.  Emily was laying on the floor, letting the rabbit hop all over her, while Emmett and Daisy watched.  “Emily, get up.”
              “But Edison likes it.”
“Like I care what the rabbit likes.”
“You let us lie on the floor at home.”
“Yeah.  At home. This is a high school.  A public high school.  I don’t trust a square inch of this place.  Get up.”
“Fine,” Emily grumbled.  She sat up. “I’m bored.”  Stan grinned, seeing the opportunity.  Daisy groaned preemptively.
“Hi, bored.  I’m dad,” Stan said jovially.  Emily moaned and laid down on the floor again.  “What?  That was a good one.”
“It was a cliché,” Daisy said.  “That’s how I knew it was comin’.”
“I’m with Emily,” Emmett said.  “I’m bored, too.”
“Dad, don’t you dare,” Daisy said quickly.  Stan sighed.
“I won’t.  There’s no point in makin’ jokes if you can guess what it’s gonna be, anyways,” Stan grumbled.
“Can we go to the band room?” Emily asked.  “I wanna see the instruments.”
“Think you’ll be fine on your own, princess?” Stan asked Danny.  Danny nodded.  “Okay.  When you’re done here, come meet us at the band room.  And bring my arm.”
“You got it, Dad!” Danny chirped.  She grinned at Emily.  “Don’t let Em near the sousaphones.”
              “The what?”
“Big tubas,” Daisy said.  “Last time she got near one, she fell in.”  Emily scoffed and got up from the floor.
“Please.  That makes it sound like it was an accident.  I climbed in on purpose.”
“Why would you do that?” Emmett asked.  Emily shrugged.
              “Why not?”
“Gotta admit, sport, her logic’s airtight,” Stan said.  Emmett rolled his eyes.  “We’ll get outta yer hair, princess.  C’mon, kids.  Let’s go touch things in the band room.”
“Yes!” Emily cheered, running out of the classroom.  There was a crash. “I’m okay!”
-----
Stan yawned as he waited for his kids to pile into the Stanleymobile.  Emily and Emmett clambered into the back seat without prompting.  Danny and Daisy stood outside, bickering.  Stan rolled down the window.
“Girls, what’s the holdup?” he called.
“Daisy says she wants to ride shotgun.  But I’m the oldest,” Danny said.  Daisy threw up her hands.
              “By eleven minutes!”
“Still the oldest,” Danny said snidely.
“Ugh!  You can be the worst sometimes, y’know that?” Daisy asked.  Stan groaned.
“That’s it.  Girls, get in the back.”
“We won’t all fit in the back seat,” Emmett mumbled.  Unlike his sisters, who were still full of energy after the open house, he was quiet.
              Well.  Quieter than usual.
“Your brother’s right,” Stan said, suddenly struck by inspiration.  “All four of ya can’t fit in the back. Emmett, come ride up front with me.” Emmett sat up straight, his eyes wide.
              “Wait, really?”
“Yep.  The girls can all ride in the back.”
              “That’s sexist,” Daisy scoffed.
“No, it’s smart,” Stan retorted.  “Emmett’s tired.  Doesn’t make sense to make him even more worn out.  Come on up, sport.”
“On my way.”  Emmett clambered over the back of the passenger seat and sat down.  He grinned at Stan.  “Thanks, Dad.”
“No problem.  Danny, Daisy, in the back.”
“Fine,” Danny grumbled, climbing into the back seat next to Emily.  Daisy followed suit.
              “Everybody buckled?” Stan asked.
              “Yes,” came the chorus.
“Good.”  Stan started the car.  “What does your Uncle Lute usually do after the school open house thing?”
“Uh, he takes us back home,” Emily said slowly.
“Pfft.  Like I’d go through all of that bull and not stop somewhere for something on the way back,” Stan muttered, pulling out of the parking lot.
“What do you mean by ‘all that bull’?” Daisy asked.
“Every single one of your teachers assuming I’m your ma’s second husband is the first thing that comes to mind.  Second is pullin’ your sister outta that weird tuba.”
“Sousaphone,” Daisy and Emmett said together.
“Whatever,” Stan said.  “But those are only two of the many things that happened that make me need some ice cream.”
“Ooh, yes!” Emily shouted, kicking the back of Stan’s seat excitedly. “Let’s get ice cream!”
“Keep kickin’ my chair like that, squirt, and you don’t get any.”
“You got it!” Emily chirped cheerfully.  She stopped kicking, but didn’t stifle the grin spread across her face.
“What about you, Emmett?” Stan asked.  “Ice cream sound good?”
              “Hell, yeah.”
“Emmett!” Danny gasped.  “Don’t swear!”  Stan laughed.
“Y’know what?” Stan said, ruffling Emmett’s hair.  “For that, you get an extra scoop.”

Eia Au, Eia ‘Oe ~ Here I am, here you are - 7 (Steve McGarrett/Twin Sister & Danny Williams/Reader)
Just a things begin to return to normal again after Steve’s arrest and escape, Steve’s twin sister comes walking into their lives McGarrett style dropping an emotional bomb. Danny is intrigued finding it hard to resist that McGarrett charm, finding it irresistible in ways he never thought possible…
Part One Part Two Part Three Part Four Part Five Part Six*
*Contains music you must listen to, to better set the mood...Trust me...
Tumblr media
Danny walked through the McGarrett house a few days later with a little spring in his step. He’d earned his title the last few days. Not Five-0, but detective.
He took a deep breath when he saw you reading a book in the hammock in the backyard. He’d screwed up the other night by moving too fast. You had shot him down quickly, well logically at least, but as he said he wasn’t one to give up.
He smiled as he walked out the screen door slamming against the house getting your attention. You smiled and waved at him before you closed your book and adjusted your silly bucket hat on your head, “Hey!”
“Hey yourself.” He smirked as he pointed to the hat, “Is it a McGarrett thing to wear dumb hats.”
He laughed as your mouth dropped opened offended, “I will have you know that this is a sensible fishing hat that clearly protects you from the sun.”
“And makes you look like an overgrown toddler.” He poked at you again, “You and your brother should take a picture together it’d be both adorable and equally embarrassing.”
You rolled your eyes in true McGarrett fashion as you swung your legs off the hammock meeting solid ground, “I hope you didn’t come over here to just insult my head wear.”
“As a matter of fact, I did not.” He swayed in excitement getting a curious head tilt from you, “How are you feeling today?”
Your eyes narrowed on him as he smiled at you, “I’m doing alright…Danny?”
“Yes?” He licked his lips as he put his hands in his pockets.
“I get the feeling that you are wanting to tell me something…” You stood up crossing your arms over your chest as you cocked your hip in his favorite way.
“Not tell you…more like show you.” He smirked as he held his hand out to you.
Your face contorted into confusion, “Danny…”
“Trust me.” His eyes lit up playfully making it hard to refuse him. His grin got bigger when you took his hand and began leading you back to the house.
“Is it a dog?” You asked as you got closer.
He glanced back at you, “What?”
“What you want to show me…is it a dog? I always wanted a dog.” You smirked seeing him sigh, “Big one, golden retriever like.”
“Sorry to disappoint, there is no dog.” He led you right through the house and out the front toward his car.
“Oh…we’re leaving?” You slowed down a little and pointed to your shorts and t-shirt, “Danny, I’m not really dressed to go anywhere.”
“You look perfect.” He smiled opening the door for you. You hesitated which made him nervous, but finally relented sliding into the car.
He shut the door and slid across the hood of the silver Camaro making you giggle, something else he could add to the list of things he liked about you. Simple sound, but so delicious to the ears.
He glanced at you as he backed out, “Just…you know, let me know if you start to feel tired or anything. I want this to be special.”
“Special?” He saw the worry and excuses working their way up.
“Relax, I promise this is simply something to make you feel happy.” He tried to sound reassuring, but his excitement dampened it only making the confused look on your face more permanent. Or was it anxiety?
The drive wasn’t terribly long as he pulled into a parking lot towards the back of a few hotels on the main drag. He got out running around to your side helping you out.
You gave him a strange look, “Danny, I’m not broken…”
“No, I know…I can just feel my mother across the ocean in New Jersey slapping the back of my head telling me to be a gentleman.” He smiled offering his arm out to you, which you took without any resistance.
He notices your smile when he put his free hand over yours on his arm. This wasn’t a date, but he did want you to know what he was capable of. His hope was that taking you here would open the door for opportunity. Or at least a window.
“Where are we, Mr. Williams?” Shivers went down his spine when you addressed him that way. It was sensual and flirty, he planned to play along.
“Ms. McGarrett, I made it my personal goal to find this place for you.” He stopped outside the door smiling, “It wasn’t easy, and it took a lot of digging, which lead me nowhere, until good ol' Chin Ho Kelly gave me the answer.”
“The answer to…?” You made a face. He didn’t answer you, but only nodded for you to open the door. You sighed and reluctantly began to open the door, “You know…I’m not overly fond of surpr-”
You fell silent as the low drawl of a saxophone filled the void. You glanced back at the still smiling Danny before you moved down the stairs in to the club.
It was like a cozy hideaway. Speakeasy-esque in its decorations and dimly lit, scent of cigar smoke and bourbon in the air. Your father would have loved it.
You turned to Danny tears beginning to prick the corners of your eyes, “Danny…I don’t know what to say…”
“Don’t say anything.” He told you as he guided you across the busy room of older coupled and guests to a table on the side of the stage where a band played, “Just enjoy it.”
As you took a seat an older gentleman approached wearing an apron. His smile was gentle as he spoke, “Detective Williams, good to see you back.”
Danny shook his hand firmly, “Good to be here, Arthur. Thank you for holding the table tonight on short notice.”
“It was a good reason.” Arthur smiled looking at you, “Your father was a good man, and an excellent patron.”
“You knew him?” You stared up at him a spark lighting up in your eyes.
“He came here every Friday night since we opened. Sat here, listened to the band, ordered two drinks. One for himself, and one for his daughter who enjoyed the music as much as him.” Arthur told you crossing his arms in front of himself, “Always said one day he’d get you here for a dance. When we heard what happened…well…everyone is deeply sorry for your loss.”
You thanked him quietly before he took your order walking off. Danny watched you turn to the band occasionally wiping a year away. Finally, he couldn’t contain himself, “You alright?”
You looked at him a bittersweet expression coming to your eyes, “Yeah…I think so. I can just…I don’t know…feel him here. Is that weird?”
“No.” Danny crossed his leg catching his knee with both his hands, “Not at all. Seems like you two were really close.”
“We were.” You nodded a little, “It was always me and Dad and Mom and Steve, and Mary just fit everywhere.”
When you laughed he felt his stomach flip excitedly. It was such a great noise. Soft and airy making your eyes crinkle and your mouth turn into a smile that lit your entire face up, “You just thought of something nice…”
“Yeah, I did.” You smiled at him turning a little in your seat to look at him, “When I was about seven, Steve and I, we were inseparable. Mary had just became a thought when they found out her gender and everyone was excited except for us. We liked our little unit and didn’t want it to change.”
“So…not knowing how babies worked we simply wrote a letter to Santa for answers asking him to ‘Please return this new baby, and we will be good and skip Christmas.’” He chuckled a little as you retold the tale, “But then we got a reply! That was the best part. Green paper, glitter, the works.”
“What did it say?” Danny leaned forward a little hanging on every word.
“Dear Steve and Y/N, I know change can be hard, but believe me this will be a new adventure. I have a special message just for you from your baby sister: Big brother and sissy, I am excited to meet you and learn from you. Santa has already told me of your great adventures, especially the recent one where you found the star fish. He said it was beautiful and I hope one day you can show me a star fish too.” You shrugged a little, “Love your baby sister, your biggest fan, Mary McGarrett.”
“Did it work?” He asked you quietly, “Did you accept it or…”
“Oh I was pissed!” You told him reaching for your drink, “Santa didn’t know me, and no letter was going to make me want this kid in my life. Nah, I didn’t like Mary until my dad put her in my arms for the first time…then she became my Mary. I loved her and protected her. Steve was the same way. Crazy McGarrett Trio.”
“What made you think of all this?” He asked as you took another sip of your drink.
Your eyebrows went up as you glanced to the band, “Uh…Dad and I were dancing…when the letter came through the mail slot. Song sounds similar.”
“Hm…” He smiled a little looking at the band before he took a deep breath and stood up. He held his hand out to you, “Well we shouldn’t waste it then.”
You stared at his hand as you started shaking your head, “Danny, no one else is dancing…”
“They’re old…they want to sit…” He smirked reaching down taking your hand in his pulling you up out of your seat and stepped toward the front of the stage.
He watched as your face flushed when his hand met your hip, the other holding you hand out as he began to sway with you, “Danny…”
“Hey…” You looked into his eyes, “This one is for your dad.”
You smiled a little before licking your lips, “Okay…you’re right…”
“I know I am. You should tell your brother. Maybe he’ll actually listen to me from time to time.” He looked away a little as he adjusted his hand in yours letting a couple of his finger interlace with your comfortably.
“Have you heard from him?” He looked back to you seeing the concern on your face.
He shook his head frowning a little, “No…I left a few messages though giving him a piece of my mind…stupid son of a…”
You smiled as he trailed off falling silent, “I appreciate you trying.”
“Of course,” He looked into your eyes finding it so easy to get lost in them, “I’ll keep trying until I get through to him.”
He didn’t take his eyes off yours as he felt your hand relax on his shoulder as you both moved a little closer together and small intimate place being created just for the both of you as the music transitioned seamlessly to the next song. He stayed quiet just moving with you each gentle trill of the saxophone and piano drawing you both closer and closer.
“You are so beautiful…” His face got red instantly as his mouth hung open, “I-I didn’t…uh…wow…sorry, just thinking out loud I guess…”
You let out a soft giggle a small distance coming between the two of you for a moment, breaking the that space you’d found each other in, “Are you trying to seduce me, Danny Williams?”
He swallowed a little, “I don’t know…is it working?”
You flushed a little letting him that it very well might be, “Danny…”
“I know…believe me I know all the reasons to say no…” He got your attention again as he continued to sway with you, “Your brother, my daughter, our friendship…cancer…”
You looked away at the last one feeling your nose tickle as he went on, “But I don’t care…It is so easy to be around you. Everything is effortless.”
“But it won’t be forever.” You looked at him your face getting hard, “Danny, I’m not getting much better…”
“You have to give-”
“It time, I know…” You looked away shaking your head, “I want to so badly, Danny…I wanna say yes…but I don’t want to drag you down. Not when everything is so uncertain.”
“But I want it.” He whispered to you, “I want all of it…I want the uncertainty of it all…I want to take care of you. It’s been hell of year and knowing you has made it easier. I want...I want to spend a life with you.”
“Even if it’s short?” You looked at him seeing him pause stopping on the dance floor still holding you.
“Especially if it’s short…” He told you with sincere and honest conviction. You didn’t have an answer to that as he started moving again letting the music once again guide you both closer together.
Finally, you rested your head against his shoulder sighing, “I…I need a little more time to think…”
“Take all the time you need.” He rested his cheek against your forehead, “I’m not going anywhere.”
His words made you want to cry. You’d had a lot of relationships throughout your life, but there was an old soul about Daniel Williams that made him stand apart from all of them. You liked it a lot.
You smiled a little as you spoke, “Only thing that would make this night better is a good pair of heels and a swishy dress.”
“A swishy dress? Is-is that actually a thing?” He chuckled a little as you nodded.
“You know it when you see it.” You told him quietly.
“Would a ‘swishy’ dress be enough to convince you to have a night out with me?” He half joked.
“Oh yeah totally.” You laughed a little, “Every girl wants a night out in a swishy dress and a man dressed to the nines.”
“Noted.” He smiled pulling away to look at your face. It was certainly a step in the right direction. Definitely a cracked window opened.

Dumb thoughts on the Child Avatars AU
I dunno, just some dumb ideas I’ve had since I started talking about the AU online/brainstorming about it. (Putting it under a readmore for everyone’s sake)
The “Daisy kidnaps Jon” situation in this AU is Daisy riding her bike to Simon Fairchild’s mansion, holding a water-gun up to both Mike and Jon’s heads, and ordering them to ride with her to the grocery store to buy soda and hang out at a nearby playground for the day. Cue Elias flipping tf out when Jon isn’t at Simon’s place when he goes to pick him up later, Simon being half asleep because he was napping while the kids hung out, and Mike getting soaked by Daisy before he agrees to go with her, and since this happens in, like, late fall or early winter, he gets pneumonia afterwards and can’t hang out for awhile, leading to the kids jokingly saying he’s dead. Btw the only reason the trio was found is because Basira was invited after they made it to the park, and she convinced Daisy to let the boys go home. Daisy literally only kidnapped them because she wanted to play with someone.
Also the Buried!Daisy arc is Daisy getting eaten by a Buried controlled sandbox and Jon jumping in after her. The rest of the kids, who thankfully witnessed this, spent the next three hours digging for them, with Breekon & Hope eventually joining in to help since they were in the area. Daisy and Jon form a trauma bond afterwards and are now best friends.
Jon keeps getting marked by shit and it’s stressing Elias out because hE’S NOT READY FOR THE WATCHER’S CROWN YET!!! He needs more time to prepare, but his son is literally getting marked faster than fucking Sonic.
Speaking of Sonic, seeing as the “Console Wars” (Sega vs Nintendo) are happening during this time period, the kids take the rivalry Very Seriously. The biggest arguments are had between Sasha, Daisy, Julia, and Mike, who are all on Team Sega, and Jon, Martin, Tim, and Danny, who are all on Team Nintendo.
Sasha, close to tears she’s so angry: “Sega DO what NintenDON’T, Tim!!!”
When Martin was born, he only had one thick clump of curly hair that was white, but as he’s grown older and entered the Lonely multiple times, more of his hair has begun to turn white. As of the time of the AU “starting” (so when he’s 8 years old), he looks like he has white highlights in his hair.
Trevor isn’t a fully-fledged Hunt avatar yet, but the girls more or less are, so if you’ve ever watched Wolf Children, that’s pretty much the situation Trevor is currently trapped in. His daughters keeping changing into wolf pups and running wild as he frantically tries to hide their powers from anyone who isn’t Gerry.
(All of the kids secretly know already, even Basira.)
Basira is pretty much the only “normal” kid of the avatar children, save MAYBE for Tim, but he’s been deeply marked by the circus and has a few tiny powers (think S3 Jon as he was figuring out some of his powers, but wasn’t a full-on Archivist just yet).
The season 1 gang (including Danny) are the closest group of friends in the AU, save for Daisy and Basira’s friendship, and they hang out a lot at each other’s homes on the weekends.
Adelard usually brings Jane with him for his “trips” away from the institute, so it’s not unusual for her to be gone for long periods of time. But she always sends postcards and gifts to the institute for everyone!
Helen is three years old, so theoretically she should be able to talk, but she rarely does so, preferring to communicate via giggles and laughter. Only Jon, the Stoker brothers, and Michael can understand her, and they take turns translating for everyone else.
Whenever she’s brought to the institute, Helen takes to toddling around after Jon and Martin, giggling up a storm the whole time. Jon finds it a bit annoying while Martin is endlessly amused by her antics.
A list of the guardian’s/adult’s ages before I fucking forget (as of when the AU “starts” in 1994): Gertrude Robinson - 62, Elias Bouchard “Jonah Magnus” - 51 (200+), Peter Lukas - 55, Simon Fairchild - 83 (300+), Gerard “Gerry” Keay - 30, Michael Shelley - 32, Alfred Grifter - Unknown, Adelard Dekker - 48, Nikola Orsinov - 30ish (100+), Annabelle Cane - 34 (Unknown), Trevor Herbert - 47, Agnes Montague - 25ish (60+), Jude Perry - 35, Jared Hopworth - 29, The Admiral - 10.
The “good” parents all keep trying to set up some kind of PTA meeting so they can actually talk about how to raise these supernatural kids properly, but it keeps going horribly wrong; last time they tried, Alfred Grifter and his band showed up and nearly made Simon go deaf, so no one wants to initiate the next attempt at a meeting.
Tbh, at this point the Fear rituals are more successful than Elias’s shitty attempts at forming a PTA.
At some point in the AU Gerry, Michael, and Trevor all pitch in to buy a decently big house together, which leads to some serious Shenanigans now that Melanie is around Michael and Trevor’s kids/wards... let’s just say there’s gonna be a lot of knife related accidents.
Gerry taught Melanie how to fight when he took her in and it is the single worst decision he’s ever made in his short, goth life, even if he’ll never admit it. Melanie can now beat the shit out of everyone but Julia and Daisy, and it’s pure chaos every time. Tim puts up a decent fight, but he’s been spoiled on easy wins over his brother all his life. Jon tries and fails to so much as push her. Martin runs away crying before Melanie even throws the first punch. Needless to say, the other kids are very cautious about playing with Melanie now.
None of the kids have an education of any kind except for Mike. I’m serious; the only kid who’s decently educated is being raised by Foxy Grandpa Off His Shits McGee! Julia and Daisy have had some public education but not much, Elias refuses to do anything but home-school Jon yet he sucks shit at math, Tim and Danny don’t even know what a school fucking looks like, Melanie and Jane were too young to go to school when they became avatars, Martin has only recently been allowed near other kids so fuck public school (Peter can do math but Nothing Else), Annabelle fucking forgot to give Sasha any kind of an education outside of Web stuff, and Helen is still a very small child. None of these kids have gone to school for more than a few years at most and dear g-d is that gonna suck for them later down the line.
As a result of this, Basira has taught the other kids a few things when she’s come over and insisted on playing “school” with everyone, but she’s still just a kid and can’t always get them to pay attention during her lessons.
Because of this Rosie, Gerry, Michael, and Gertrude have all started making an effort to more or less home-school all of the kids, which has gone... well enough, I suppose. However, things have recently taken a weird turn since Jon keeps giving everyone the answers to assignments/tests via telepathy.
Jon: Whoa, you can make tea all by yourself, Martin!? Martin: Yeah, I’ve been doing it by myself since I was a toddler. I can also do laundry, mop floors, vacuum, and cook a few things, too! Tim: Wow, that’s really cool, Martin! I wish I could do stuff like that. Gertrude, off to the side: *Gives Peter a horrified look* I’m sorry, but did Martin just say he’s been making tea on his own since he was a toddler? Peter:  ╮(╯ _╰ )╭  Unfortunately, I’m severely depressed.
Yeeeeeeeah, Martin’s in a similar childhood situation to his canon one, but at least there are people actually willing to help him out of it in this universe. Also, Peter will clean himself up at some point here, he’s just still dealing with more or less disowning himself from his family and learning hoe to not be so lonely.
Speaking Of Which, the Lukas family are pretty big antagonists in this AU, primarily through Peter’s mother (I’ll come up with a name for her later if I can’t find it on the wiki), who is trying to kidnap Martin and more or less feed him to the Lonely so Peter will get over his “childish feelings” and return to being her favorite child.
And yes, she DOES accidentally kidnap Jon instead at some point... this kid can literally not avoid getting kidnapped.
I like to think Mike and Julia are really good friends in this AU, being the closest in age and all. They hang out a lot since their dads are both so chill and won’t get upset about it, the two of them mostly just playing video games, watching movies, and biking around their respective neighborhoods together.
(Also they may or may not be responsible for a statement that involves a woman seeing a “flying wolf” passing over London... they’ve yet to confess to it, but Elias is dead certain they’re behind the incident.)
The worms incident is 100% Jane’s secret worm collection getting fucking loose... she was keeping them in the walls “for safe keeping” and No One Fucking Knew, not even Elias, until Jon saw a spider, punched the wall, and Revealed them.
Jon and Tim got their scars because Jane lost control of the worms and they burrowed into the kids. Cue a very panicked 999 call from someone in the institute and Child Services almost getting involved, but Elias managed to cover it up.
Afterwards, Jon is incredibly self-conscious about his worm scars, but Martin tells him “now we both have freckles!” and it honestly makes him feel a little better about the whole thing.
Also Adelard makes an effort to track down a child psychologist/counselor with institute ties so he can get Jane some therapy/help controlling her powers. He loves her to the moon and back, and he’s terrified of her getting traumatized by what she accidentally did.
During the incident, a Notthem gets loose from Artifact Storage and attacks Sasha, but seeing as Sasha is of the Web and the Notthem is connected to a Web artifact, it only manages to really hurt her, but thankfully not kill her. She ends up hospitalized for a few weeks, but comes out fine later on. The table mysteriously disappears afterwards, and no one knows if it was Gertrude or Annabelle’s doing, but either way, the kids never have to deal with a Notthem again.
At some point I wanna get into Jon’s paranoia in season 2 for this AU, but I’m considering changing it from being because of the Jane Prentiss issue to be because of Mr. Spider almost killing him. I dunno how exactly it’ll play out, but I think it has a lot of potential!
Okay, before I end this post full of weird rambling ideas for the AU, I wanna make a list of the powers that the kids have at the time of the story “starting”/the ones they develop down the line because Jonny Sims himself said that all avatars have different powers, and I really wanna infodump on my thoughts for the kids!
Current powers of Jonathan Sims-Bouchard: Can simply know things whenever he wants to (so long as the Eye lets him, but the Eye sometimes keeps him from knowing anything he isn’t mature enough to handle), can compel people to tell him things (the other kids are better at resisting it, and so are other people touched by the Eye), can survive on very little food if he’s fed mostly statements/other people’s trauma, can non-consensually feel the pain and emotions of the people around him, has some weak telepathy powers, and he can subconsciously summon tape recorders.
Future powers of Jonathan Sims-Bouchard: Increased healing abilities, can know most anything if he tries, ability to resist other Eye avatars’ compulsions, can survive purely off of statements/other people’s trauma, can choose whether or not to feel the pain and emotions of the people around him, has much stronger telepathy powers than before, can force himself into people’s minds and read their thoughts, and he can summon tape recorders at will (though some still show up without his knowledge sometimes).
Current powers of Martin Blackwood-Lukas: Can disappear into the Fog for several hours at a time (he cannot be seen by anyone but other Lonely avatars while in the fog), can summon clouds of fog that he can momentarily hide things in (including people), can “banish” most anyone into the fog, and has “Sea Captain Eyes” (he knows where the Tundra is at all times, and can lead someone to it without a map or compass).
Future powers of Martin Blackwood-Lukas: Can change his hair color at will (only to red, white, and a mix of the two colors), can see much better in the Fog and can find anyone he’s pushed into it, can more or less teleport using the Fog, and he has what’s more or less a pocket dimension of fog for storage/hiding his friends from danger (think the inside of Gems in Steven Universe).
Current powers of Tim Stoker-Orsinov: Can make small bipedal toys “come to life” for a few minutes at a time (they can’t talk or communicate; only move around and perform small tasks/dances), can tell when a Notthem is masquerading as someone else, is supernaturally talented at gymnastics, and can dance alongside the creatures of the Stranger without being fully corrupted by them.
Future powers of Tim Stoker-Orsinov: Better control over the powers he already has as well as a high tolerance for the Spiral.
Current powers of Danny Stoker-Orsinov: Can order around creatures of the Stranger against their will, can tell when a Notthem is masquerading as someone else, can dance alongside the creatures of the Stranger without being fully corrupted by them, is supernaturally talented at gymnastics, and can change his voice to anything he likes (not always intentionally, though).
Future powers of Danny Stoker-Orsinov: Can more or less “teleport” to other circus locations by walking into theaters, can now change his voice to whatever he likes with his knowledge and consent, can take over as the Stranger’s ringmaster if necessary, can trigger a mesmerizing dance whenever he’d like, and has a high tolerance for the Spiral.
Current powers of Sasha James-Cane: Can communicate with spiders and have them send messages to other Web avatars, can read minds if she tries really hard, can “trap“ other entities in large webs that she can summon (takes a lot of energy), and she has Spider-Man-like abilities (can walk on walls and ceilings, can carry much more than her weight should allow, etc).
Future powers of Sasha James-Cane: Can now read minds without too much effort, can navigate almost any area that’s being controlled/influenced by the Web, can create webs without nearly as much effort as before, can transform her body to have more arms, legs, and eyes, and she now has venomous fangs (which can thankfully be controlled and/or hidden).
Current powers of Alice “Daisy” Tonner: Can turn into a wolf at will/when she’s especially emotional, can smell blood from several miles away, and has supernatural senses/physical abilities.
Future powers of Alice “Daisy” Tonner: Can now track most any monster she’s hunting once she gets at least one good look at them, can communicate with other Hunters via howling, and can navigate the Buried if needed (though this is very triggering for her and will cause her to pass out afterwards).
Current powers of Julia Montauk: Can turn into a wolf at will/when she’s especially emotional, can smell blood from several miles away, has supernatural senses/physical abilities, can track most any monster if she knows their name, can communicate with other Hunters via howling, and she can shift into a bipedal werewolf when she feels like she’s in danger.
Future powers of Julia Montauk: All of her previous powers have drastically improved, plus she has better control of them now.
Current powers of Basira Hussain: She has common fucking sense, something almost none of the other children have.
Future powers of Basira Hussain: She common sense AND she has a werewolf GF now. :) ((No dating for the babies, not until they’re at least teenagers))
Current powers of Melanie King-Grifter: Can listen to Grifter’s Bone without being damaged in any way, the music of Grifter’s Bone makes her powers exemplified for a period of time after she listens to it, the smell of blood triggers her to become violent, she can summon sharp weapons (knives, swords, etc) from thin air, and she can see a red aura around other people who have been marked by the Slaughter.
Future powers of Melanie King-Grifter: She has much better control of her abilities now, she can perform Grifter’s Bone songs for people and keep them from dying/going feral, and she can now also summon other weapons from thin air (guns, baseball bats, etc).
Current powers of Oliver Banks: Can see people’s deaths a week in advance via his dreams, he sees dark tentacles around people who are going to die soon, can see but not talk to ghosts, and he can smell death on anyone who’s undead/controlling other people’s bodies.
Future powers of Oliver Banks: Can raise the dead and control them to do his bidding (takes a lot of energy), can speak cat (not End related; Admiral related), and he can cause people to die within the week if he touches them in his dreams.
Current powers of Georgie Barker: Can see a “death countdown” over people who are going to die within the next thirty days, doesn’t feel any fear whatsoever, can see but not talk to ghosts, and she sees a dark sludge staining the clothes of people who have been marked by the End.
Future powers of Georgie Barker: Can bring people back to life for a minute or so by touching them (think Pushing Daisies type powers), can speak cat (not End related; Admiral is best cat dad), and she can communicate with ghosts much better now.
Current powers of Jane Prentiss-Dekker: Can summon bugs of most kinds from her mouth and under her fingernails, can communicate with bugs, and can fight off most diseases without any trouble.
Future powers of Jane Prentiss-Dekker: Can now completely control bugs via a hive mind effect, can summon bugs from anywhere on her body, has much stronger healing abilities than Jon, and she can see invisible bugs crawling on the skin of those who the Corruption wants her to get rid of (it’s hard for her not to give in to it’s desires).
Current powers of Mike Crew-Fairchild: Can levitate/fly at will, can summon clouds of any kind (rain, thunder, snow, etc) in any conditions, has much higher resistance to the weather/temperature, and he can “banish” people into the Vast at will.
Future powers of Mike Crew-Fairchild: Same as before, but with slightly better control than he had as a teenager.
Current powers for Helen Richardson-Shelley: Can change the world around her to be more like the Spiral (adding more doors, changing the colors of things, causing hallucinations, etc), can change any door into a doorway into the Spiral, and she can amplify her voice (very hard to control as a baby).
Future powers for Helen Richardson-Shelley: Can now summon doors that lead to the Spiral from thin air, has much better control over her powers and abilities than before, can morph her body to be longer and sharper at will, and she can “banish” people into the endless hallways of the Spiral.
((Holy shit, that took awhile))
Anyways, here’s a playlist I made for the AU, feel free to scream at me for my very weird taste in music: Pinky Swear That You Won’t Go Changing
