Hello, sweet Navy! 💙

I had a thought about our sweet knight!Bucky and his princess. What would she do if she caught him sneaking a pretty wild flower in her room, laying it on her pillow? Would she call him out or keep that sweet little moment to herself? 🥺

I love them!

AHH! I love this so much. ❤️

For a man of Bucky's size, it's amazing how he can move around so quietly. It's one of the things that makes him such a great knight for you. Stealthy, quick, lethal, it's almost easy for him to eliminate anyone threatening you. That stealth also makes it easy for him to slip in and out of your room.

He waits until you're in the bathroom before he goes in, lightly moving across the room to place the flower on your pillow. His mother told him the best kind of flowers for loved ones were given just because. And that was just it. Today wasn't a special occasion or a holiday. He merely saw it and thought of you.

Vibrant and beautiful.

He smiles to himself before he feels someone watching him. Not just anyone. He knows the weight of that look. It's from his princess.

You don't speak when you step out of the bathroom and meet his gaze. Neither does he. You do, however, give him a kind smile. One that makes his heart beat faster in his chest.

Without breaking eye contact, he wordlessly bows before he leaves as swiftly as he entered. There's no need for him to make a big deal or spectacle over giving you something so simple. It's just a pretty flower.

Except it isn't. Not to you.

He somehow isn't surprised when he sees the similar wildflowers in a vase later at lunch, but he is touched. They had never been in the palace before today. His gaze remains on you as you select a flower and bring it close to inhale the sweet scent. He watches as you cut the stem with a knife and ignore a few looks since that wasn't exactly etiquette, which almost makes him smile.

You're as bold as the flower he gave you.

What he doesn't expect is for you to stand and go to him, so he holds his breath as you get close. A moment passes as you look into his eyes and tuck the flower into his left breast pocket. He swears he sees love in your stare. You turn and go back to your seat as he touches his pocket with care, as if you hadn't affected him in the slightest. He knows he'll have the flower pressed so he can keep it forever.

You plan to do the same with yours.

And maybe, just maybe, if he can one day marry you, those will be the same flowers at your wedding.

Vampire/omegaverse au,

Life doesn't go according to plan when you're an omega in London with no family, no money, and only a flatmate can support you. Bucky can barely afford an apartment on the salary of a baker's assistant in a bakery.

Suddenly, his grand-uncle dies and leaves a huge inheritance that cannot be refused. Bucky moves into a huge estate where his grandfather lived. Everything is going suspiciously well, until you start to hear him moaning from the walls.

Or a vampire au, which is permeated with emotional pain, silly humor and, of course, love.

This is my ff, which I started writing and currently there are already 2 chapters on ao3. I hope you like it!

Black Widow, Winter Soldier, and WinterWidow reading list

I made this list for another post, but I thought I'd put it here too.

Black Widow (1999) by Devin Grayson - Natasha's first solo. It's only three issues, and it's the start of modern Black Widow. It introduces important aspects of her character, like the Red Room. Yelena is introduced for the first time.

Black Widow (2001) by Devin Grayson - Another three-issue comic, which I thought was a fun read. It's a Natasha, Yelena, and Matt team-up comic. It's a part of Marvel Knights, which told more mature and darker stories so I have a soft spot for the 1999 and 2001 runs for this reason.

Black Widow: Pale Little Spider (2002) by Greg Rucka - Another three-issue comic. While not focused on Natasha, it's a Yelena solo. It's part of the Max comics line, which was an attempt to tell adult-only stories, and it definitely shows because Yelena visits a bondage sex club. A very important comic for Yelena.

Black Widow: Homecoming (2004) by Richard K. Morgan - I think this comic was extremely influential for modern Black Widow. A lot of her mythos originated from this comic. The movie took a lot of inspiration from this comic as well, like the pheremones thing.

Black Widow: The Things They Say About Her (2005) by Richard K. Morgan - This one is decent. It's not entirely important, but I think it's worth a read. A classic Black Widow story where Natasha is on the run and doesn't know who to trust. While it's overdone at this point, I think this was the first comic to portray it. Yelena and Matt show up in this one too.

Captain America (2005) by Ed Brubaker - VERY IMPORTANT. Bucky is reintroduced as the Winter Soldier and shows up in #1. While it's long, every issue is worth it. Natasha doesn't show up until #27, but #27-#50 is peak buckynat. This run is one of my fav comics of all time.

New Avengers #48-64, Annual #3, Finale (2005) by Brian Michael Bendis - Natasha isn't super important in this, and she barely shows up, but Bucky shows up frequently. I wouldn't say it's entirely important, but it's during Bucky's time as Captain America, and when he interacts with the Avengers, so I recommend it just for that. Also, I'm a little biased because New Avengers (2005) is probably my favorite comic ever.

Black Widow (2010) by Marjorie Liu - The best Black Widow story ever written. I don't think anyone has disliked it. 10/10, I always love to reread it.

Black Widow: Deadly Origin (2010) by Paul Cornell - A miniseries about Natasha's origin. Not entirely important, but it's a solid Black Widow story. Appearances from Bucky and Wolverine.

Captain America #600-619 by Ed Brubaker - Again, it's very important for both Bucky and Natasha. It's a continuation of Captain America (2005).

Captain America & Bucky #620-624 (2011) by Ed Brubaker - Pretty important. It's a retelling of Bucky's life. #624 is all about buckynat and how they met. A lot of iconic buckynat content that the fandom gushes over is in it.

Widowmaker (2011) - Not super important and Bucky isn't in it. A fun team-up story about Clint and Natasha with Bobbi. I enjoyed reading it.

Winter Soldier (2012) by Ed Brubaker - I cannot tell you how much I love this comic. It's the best Bucky's ever been written and I don't think anyone will disagree when I say that no one has ever understood Bucky like Ed Brubaker. Extremely important for buckynat.

Winter Soldier: The Bitter March (2014) by Rick Remender - I'm not going to lie; I don't really remember much from this comic, but I know people like it.

Black Widow (2014) by Phil Noto & Nathan Edmondson - Another popular comic for Natasha. It's probably my second favorite Black Widow comic after Liu's. Another Black Widow is on the run story, but Liho is introduced in this! Bucky is in #8, 15, 17-18. A must read.

Bucky Barnes: The Winter Soldier (2014) by Ales Kot - This isn't my favorite, but the art is absolutely beautiful. I don't think it's essential. Natasha is not in this.

Black Widow (2016) by Mark Waid - I enjoyed reading this comic. I'd rank it third after Liu and Noto. Bucky is in #9-10. Essential Black Widow comic.

Tales of Suspense #100-104 by Matthew Rosenberg - A Winter Soldier and Hawkeye team-up where they look for Natasha after she was killed by Hydra Cap in Secret Empire (no need to read it; SE is trash). A fandom favorite, and I absolutely love it. Winterhawk exploded in popularity after this run.

Winter Soldier (2018) by Kyle Higgins - Natasha does not show up in this, but it's very important for Bucky. It's a short five-issue miniseries, and it's probably the best Bucky has been written since Brubaker.

Black Widow (2019) by Jen and Sylvia Soska - It's a miniseries, and it's a fairly dark one. Natasha is back from the dead, and she's PISSED. Bucky doesn't show up in this one, but Steve does, and it's after her murder at Hydra Cap's hands.

Web of Black Widow (2019) by Jody Houser - Another Natasha miniseries where she's on the run and her friends are worried about her. Bucky shows up in #2 and #5.

Falcon and Winter Soldier (2020) by Derek Landy - A fun team-up comic with Sam and Bucky. Natasha doesn't show up. Not essential.

Black Widow (2020) by Kelly Thompson - It's...not great. Many people have already talked about what they didn't like, so I won't go over it, but it has some fantastic buckynat moments. However, I will say that I really love Natasha, Yelena, Clint, and Bucky teaming up in this comic. That group together is highly entertaining. It doesn't seem like anything from this comic will be paid attention to in the future, but I would still read it.

Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty (2022) by Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly - Really trash. I didn’t like this at all. Bucky isn't written well, and I think Natasha shows up like twice. Skip.

Captain America: Cold War (2023) by Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly - Another trash event. Skip.

Thunderbolts (2023) by Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly - Buckynat FINALLY get back together after they broke up in Winter Soldier (2012). A boring comic otherwise.

His Silly Princess | Bucky (Oneshot)

Character: Bodyguard!Bucky Barnes x Princess!Reader

Summary: A modern royal love story. A naive princess who wants to get away from an arranged marriage. She never knew that her guard had loved her since the beginning.

Zylovia is a country where monarchy still exists. It’s a developed country located near Western Europe.

It’s a prosperous country, and the number of unemployed is also the lowest. Tourists love coming here for the casino, race car, and music festival.

But this country has one outdated rule. It didn’t apply to the citizens. Only for the royal family.

“If the female royal member marries a commoner, she will lose her status."

You learned that rule when you were 12 years old as the youngest siblings and Princess Zylovia. You didn't put a deep thought into it.

But now, when you are almost 30 years old, and your older siblings are already married, you think this is good for you.

Because you realize you’re not fit to do the duty as a princess.

Your oldest brother has prepared since he was a kid to be the king. When he reaches the age of 40, he will be crowned as the king. Your second brother will be the second commander in the military.

While you have a job as a painting conservator at the museum, your duty as a princess is to welcome the official foreign guest at the castle. You learned some languages, but you’re not allowed to give any opinion on politics.

You don’t hate being a royal, but sometimes you feel like living in a golden cage.

And finally, you had enough because, on your recent birthday, your parents talked to you about marriage.

The king and queen don’t want to be separated from their youngest daughter, but they hint that they wish for her future husband from the royal circle. In other words: arranged marriage.

You clenched your jaw while smiling at your parents. If the man from the royal circle is a real gentleman, you wouldn’t mind.

But the problem is, please pardon the harsh language; none of the men from the royal family are your type.

Your type of man must have a stable job, look good in suits, and have a nice body.

That’s why, for a couple of days, you’ve made a list of potential future husbands. After you write it, you realize most of the men are from the knights. Perhaps because you always went to meet your second brother at the military training ground, so you know some people.

‘Knock, knock!’ Suddenly, someone knocked on your door.

“Come in.”

You didn’t have to turn around to see who it was. You have known him for years, and your ears are familiar with the sound of his footsteps.

The person who walked into your room has been your exclusive bodyguard for years - James Barnes, but you always call him Bucky his nickname.

Bucky is a commoner and an elite soldier. If there’s a shooting competition, he will be in the top three. Your second brother always hates him.

He has received many medals of honors, but he rejects a knight title from your father. You don’t understand why he declined the offer. If he received it, he could enter politics, and he doesn’t have to follow her around anymore.

He’s tall, handsome, with perfect blue eyes and has fine muscles on his body. Bucky also has a primarily female fanbase when he wears the military uniform and rides a horse at the independence ceremony.

He became a celebrity overnight.

But you have never seen or heard any rumor about him with a woman.

“Your highness, in two hours you are going to attend the tennis tournament.”

You dropped the pen and dropped your head to the table. “Urgh. Do I have to?”

Bucky chuckled when he saw you unwilling to go. One thing you hate about your duty is to be the guest at the tennis game. You prefer to watch the race car, but it's reserved for your brother's.

Even though you didn’t want to go, you still dragged your feet to the dressing room to grab your coat.

When you were searching for the right outfit, you suddenly remembered. “Oh no!” You didn’t hide the potential list that you just wrote. You wish you could dig your own grave and disappear.

And you were right; Bucky saw your writing. He furrowed his eyebrows while he read your paper. “What’s this? Potential man for marriage?”

You stand beside him; you don’t know why you feel scared. This is the first time you have seen him like this.

His slender, pointed fingers scratched the two names with his nails. There’s a big X on your paper.

“Don’t marry any of those men.”

“Why?”

A small smile appeared on his lips, along with a soft voice, “Steve hasn’t moved on from his last girlfriend, and Ari, he loves to drink alcohol. I know you hate the smell of alcohol.”

You felt disappointed; you crumpled the paper and threw it into the trash.

“Marriage? Why all of a sudden?” There's an annoyed tone in his voice.

You rubbed your head and muttered, “I need to get married sooner, or my parents will arrange marriage for me, their friend's kid. And you know the truth, I had enough of being a princess.”

Bucky crossed his arms. “But, why them?”

“What?”

He clenched his fist; Bucky stared at her with an annoyed expression. “Why didn't you put me on the list?”

“....”

You waved your hand. “It doesn’t matter, as long as I got married.”

“So, would you like to marry me?”

Are you having hallucinations? Did Bucky just propose to you?

Bucky got on his knees. “Let’s get married.”

You still haven’t come to your senses. Bucky started talking again. “Think about it. Both of us have known each other for a long time. We’ve known each other's likes and dislikes. We’ve been through many things together.”

He’s right. He’s the safest choice if you want to marry someone. You shrugged your shoulders and accepted his hand. “Alright.”

Bucky's beautiful smile appeared on his face. Before he shook your hand, he felt you slightly pull his hand. When you saw him smile, your heart raced. “But, if in the end, we don’t like each other, please wait after three years, then we could get a divorce.”

Bucky chuckled; his attractiveness is not just in his physical appearance but also in his ability to manage his emotions gracefully and restraintfully. He leaned closer to you, and his hands gently grabbed your chin.

As his calloused hand touched your skin, a subtle warmth spread on your cheeks. You could feel you're blushing. “Silly girl, it will never happen.”

Then he rests your arms on his. “Then you have the excuse to skip the tournament.”

“Hmm?”

“We should inform this first to His Majesty and Her Majesty.”

“Oh, right.” You nodded, then looked straight into his blue eyes again. “This soon?”

When both of you walk through the hallway to meet the King and Queen, Bucky tries his best to calm down. He almost lost his common sense when he saw you write another man's name, and there’s a word of ‘potential husband.’

He looks at you and thinks ‘his silly princesses didn’t realize his feelings for her.’

Didn’t she know he declined the offer to be a knight so he could be her guard?

If he became a knight, he would work with her second brother. That’s the last thing he wants to do.

“So, Bucky, don’t worry about money. When I resign as a princess, the kingdom will give us money.”

Bucky chuckled, seeing his sweet princess worried about their future, “That’s so sweet of you. But you don’t need to worry about that.” He gently patted her arms. He wants to tell you that he owns the famous casino in this kingdom and 5-star hotel chains in a few countries.

When both of you are married, Bucky will ensure you don’t have to work anymore. He is pretty sure that her parents will give their blessings even though he’s a commoner (and he’s super rich). The royal family has outdated rules, but because of it, he could marry you.

Both of you arrived at the king's office room. The guards bowed their heads to greet you. Then you said, “Princesses Y/N and her guard. Wait… and her future husband, James Barnes wants to meet the king.”

The guards and the butler who opened the door lost their composure. They should have known from your body language walking here together hand in hand when usually Bucky always stands behind you.

This news is shocking compared to the crown prince, who got caught partying too hard and the second prince, who had a messy love life before he got married.

Summary: You are no one. What if fate makes you queen?

Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Maid!Reader x Nick (Fowler) Barnes

This series takes place in the Two kings universe. I recommend to read this story first to understand this universe better. This story starts around 1 year before the wedding in arc 1 - Two kings

This is the 2nd arc to this: Of Kings and Queens Arcs

Not a queen (Arc 2) masterlist

The world is going to change. You can feel it. The wind told you so.

Of course, you can’t tell anyone about your dreams, and that the wind talks to you. So, you keep your mouth shut, and your head down. It’s the only thing you can do.

In this world the royal reign, and the normal people serve. Humanity got thrown back to the dark age when the war of the second sons destroyed the modern world.

“Y/N, stop daydreaming,” the elder maid tuts. Ruth is a nice old hag, always having your back. “We got to clean the prince’s chamber and the library. Then we are done for the day.”

“Hmm…” you nod. It’s almost the weekend, and you will get away from the castle for two days, relax and enjoy not scrubbing the floor or changing bed sheets. “Do you want me to clean the library or the chamber?”

“You already cleaned the kitchen. I’ll take care of the library, sweetie. You can take care of the prince’s chamber. Maybe you’ll get a glimpse of Prince Bucky too,” she gives you a wink.

“No-I,” you shrug. “He doesn’t even know I exist. Most of the time the royals pass us by without even noticing someone else is around. They live in a different world.”

“You never know, Y/N. Prince Bucky is a fine young man,” she says. “If you come out of your shell once in a while, you’ll see he will talk to you.”

“I don’t think so. Some months ago, I tried to talk to him and he ignored my question because that red-haired girl was around.”

“Natasha Romanoff?” Ruth huff. “She’s going to marry Lord Barton’s son. Romanoff is not interested in our prince.”

“Ruth, please. How could a prince ever be into me?”

“A girl can dream. Right?” she pats your cheek. “You’re a cute and smart girl. Kind too. A man would be blind to not see you.”

“Phew…done,” you sigh as you look around the prince’s chamber. Everything is clean, his clothes are in the hamper, and you even picked up the books he carelessly dropped to the floor. “Weekend, I’m coming.”

You’re spinning around, giggling as you will have the next two days off. “Having fun?” someone chuckles behind your back. The prince stands in the doorframe, watching you, a smug grin on his face.

“Sorry. I was just…” you trail off. “I just finished your room. I’ll go now, your highness.” You hurriedly grab your broom, dustpan, and bucket. “Have a great day.”

“Mouse, why the hurry?” he cocks his head as you try to brush past him. “Do you have somewhere else to be?”

“My shift is over. I got a long way home and want to arrive home before it gets dark. I don’t have knights around to protect me,” you quip, making the prince chuckle.

He quirks a brow as you walk past him and out of the room. You run off when he calls for you again. It’s not your job to keep him company or let him make fun of you.

You hurriedly make your way out of the castle, hoping to arrive home before the rain pouring down soaks your clothes.

It’s the worst day to forget your umbrella. “Oh no,” you crouch down to pick up the book the prince just dropped. You wonder how he can be here. Not moments ago, you bumped into him in his chamber. “Your Highness!”

You harrumph as he once again, ignores your existence. He doesn’t turn around but rather runs inside the castle to escape the rain.

“What…shit,” you turn around to walk back inside the castle. If you don’t return the book, someone might think you stole it.

Walking a little faster to make sure you can leave before the rain gets even worse you make your way toward the prince’s chamber. You take a deep breath and knock.

“Your Highness? You dropped the book outside,” you don’t wait for him to answer and step inside the chamber. “Your Highness? It’s me…uh…the mouse.”

“Mouse?”

The book slips out of your hands. “Your Highness?” you swallow thickly as not one prince but two, looking the same, stare at you with wide fearful eyes. “I-I didn’t want to interrupt. You dropped the book and…”

“It’s the maid I told you about, Nick.”

You step back when one of the men walks toward you. “We can’t let her go, Bucky. She will get us killed. What if she runs right to the council?”

“I won’t say a word,” you whimper. “Please.”

“Aw, mouse,” Bucky whispers lowly as he wraps his hand around your wrist, “you shouldn’t have entered the room…”

Modern royalty is both a wondrous and strange concept. As the only child of the King and Queen of Brooklyn, your parents raised you with a blend of tradition and modernization. They taught you to speak your mind while stressing to follow certain customs. You did your best to make them proud.

The picture-perfect princess.

Except, you didn't have a prince by your side.

“Something wrong, your highness?”

You turned in your chair to look at your personal knight, James “Bucky” Barnes. Standing tall at 6’4” with a muscular build, he served as your bodyguard when he wasn’t fighting for your father. Like his father before him. You worried in the beginning that he’d resent you for having to be your personal guard, but he took his duties seriously. He watched over you as if it was an honor to do so. Though he intimidated most because of his size and strength, he displayed kindness toward you. He quickly became one of your closest confidants.

A knight in name, but a prince in my heart.

“Nothing to concern yourself with.”

“Are you sure?” he asked, not moving from his spot in the left corner of your large bedroom. It was the perfect vantage point for him to see your window, the door, and you. “You dismissed your ladies for no reason, you’re not dressed for the day, and you’ve been staring at that invitation for the better part of an hour.”

You turned back toward your vanity and picked up the ornate invitation with a sigh.

Her Majesty Queen of Waverly requests the pleasure of your company at the Marriage of His Royal Highness Prince Clinton of Waverly with Her Royal Highness Princess Natalia of Volgograd.

You RSVP’d to Clint and Natasha’s wedding weeks ago and said you would bring a plus one because that was the expectation. Your parents asked every day since the invitation arrived who you planned to have on your arm. They gave you the option of choosing instead of making the decision themselves. With the wedding around the corner, you were running out of time.

“I still haven't chosen a date and my parents want an answer today."

"Forgive me for saying so, but you have been dodging the King and Queen's question."

"I know, I know. They're already disappointed that I've dragged this out."

Just like they're probably disappointed that they didn't arrange a marriage for me once I was old enough to wed.

"I highly doubt you could do anything to disappoint them or anyone else. You’re Brooklyn’s beloved princess through and through," he said.

Blood rushed to your cheeks as you set the invitation down. His praise felt good. "Thank you, Bucky. But why do I have to bring someone?”

"Tradition," he replied, crossing his arms. “You know, I figured the princes would be knocking down your door at the chance to be your plus one.”

“As if you’d let them get close enough to ask,” you said. "You don't even let Sir Steven near me and he's your best friend."

As your knight, one of Bucky's duties was to keep you safe from any possible threats. He took it to the extreme. If anyone got within a few feet of you, he was there to keep them away. Most didn’t try to speak to you once they caught a glimpse of him.

“It is my job to protect you,” he reminded you. “Especially from handsy princes.”

"Does that include Prince Nicholas?"

Bucky's jaw twitched as he nodded. It was a bit of a low blow to mention Nick’s name considering your knight couldn’t stand him. The prince was one of the few men not afraid of him.

"Especially Prince Nicholas," he grumbled, not hiding his disdain for the man. "What gift did he send you last week?"

"An emerald necklace. I almost felt bad sending it back."

"Insulting. Doesn't he know diamonds are a girl's best friend?"

You narrowed your eyes at him in the mirror, which made him chuckle. The sound sent a jolt between your thighs. Between that and the earlier praise, you prayed he didn’t notice how it affected you. Your knight was not only brave and trusting, but so handsome. Staring into his eyes was like getting lost at sea. Too many nights, you imagined how silky the brown strands of his hair would feel against your fingers.

And how the scruff on his chin would feel between your legs.

“Emeralds, diamonds, it doesn't matter. You don’t let any man get close enough to give them to me themselves,” you muttered to distract yourself from getting aroused. “Some days I wonder if you take pleasure in making sure I’m alone.”

Bucky frowned as he unfolded his arms. “You think I want you to be alone?”

"You tell me. My parents want me to wed eventually, but how will that happen if you won't let any suitors near me?" you asked, toying with one of your makeup brushes to keep your hands busy. “Or are you punishing me for constantly being on babysitting duty?"

"I'm sure the right man can court you without being in close proximity to you," he said, even though he didn't sound pleased. "And we both know I want to watch over you, so why are you trying to pick a fight with me?”

You looked away, embarrassed. You had no reason to speak to him like that. But how could you admit that you didn’t want any suitors when you had him right in front of you? He wasn’t just your knight, he was everything to you. It upset you to think he didn't want you. It scared you more that he’d resign from his duties to settle down and have his own family. You didn't want that day to come.

Is it selfish that I want him forever by my side?

“I’m not trying to pick a fight,” you said, turning in your chair to face him. “And you know I don't care about any suitors. I'm just frustrated."

That includes being sexually frustrated and the toy I named after you is calling my name.

"I'm glad you don't care about those suitors because if you married one soon, I might be out of a job."

"You're stuck with me no matter what," you smiled. "I'm sorry for being rude."

“Give me a hug, princess, and I’ll forgive you,” he said as he held out his arms.

“No,” you said, but you were already on your feet. The robe you wore didn't do much to cover your body and you wondered if you imagined the hunger in his eyes. “I don’t think you deserve a hug.”

He placed his left hand over his chest, which drew your attention to it. He lost his left arm in battle years before and the kingdom had a state of the art metal prosthetic fashioned for him. To some, it was a sign of sacrifice and bravery. It showed you that he was a fighter and survivor.

“You wounded me with your words and you’re hurting me more by denying me a simple request.”

You fought to keep from smiling as you walked toward him. Knowing that he wanted to touch you, even in an innocent form, was a heady feeling. You wanted his touch, too. You craved it like nothing else.

“I’m only going to hug you because I love you,” you said, wrapping your arms around him once you were close enough.

He inhaled as he hugged you close and you allowed yourself to melt in his strong embrace. It made you feel safe and cared for. “I love you, too, my princess,” he whispered.

You closed your eyes and hid your face in his shoulder. Whenever you said you did things for him because you loved him, he always replied that he loved you, too. You dreamt of falling asleep to him whispering that in your ear.

I wish he loved me the way I love him.

“If I could, I'd be your date for the evening."

You lifted your head and pulled free from his arms as you considered his words. You couldn't stop the grin from spreading across your face. Bucky as your date? Why didn't you think of that?

“What’s that look for?”

"Sir James, would you do me the honor of being my date to the wedding?"

His eyebrows shot up. "You called me James."

"That should tell you how serious I am."

Please, don't reject me. I'd feel like a fool.

He cleared his throat and you tried not to feel anxious as you waited for his answer. "I’m not a prince.”

“Who said I have to bring a prince? It may be tradition for a princess to have someone on their arm for royal functions, but it should be a person of my choosing. Who better than the man my parents trust with my life?”

“But-” he began before you held up a hand to stop him.

"Isn't it your duty to serve and protect me? Your princess?" you asked.

“It is,” he answered, looking down when you took his left hand in yours.

“Bucky, I’m not just asking you as my knight. I’m asking because I want you to go with me,” you said, your voice soft as he lifted his head to look at you. "There’s no one else I’d rather go with."

You felt a slight burn in your eyes from unshed tears, but you held your head high. If he sensed your vulnerability, he kindly didn't call you out on it. You didn’t want to command him to take you nor did you want to beg.

“But if you don’t want to, I understand. I can ask Prince Nicholas instead.”

Bucky stopped you before you could turn away from him. "You'll do no such thing," he said, bringing your hand to his lips and softly kissing it. “It would be my honor to be your date, your highness."

"Really?" you smiled as he lowered your hand, but didn't let go.

"Only because I love you," he smiled back.

Your heart raced as you playfully hit his arm, letting your touch linger. "That's my line," you teased, looking over your shoulder to check the time. "Let's go tell my parents."

"You're in your robe," he reminded you as you tried to pull him across the room. "I don't think the other guards need to see you like that."

"I'll change later," you huffed when he planted his feet firmly on the ground. A wall of muscle, he was nearly impossible to move. "Bucky."

You gasped when he gripped your chin, forcing you to meet his gaze. His enormous hand could crush your bones if he chose to, but the gentle hold reminded you that you were in his care. There was no mistaking the hunger there this time.

"Get dressed, princess," he gently ordered, his voice deeper than before.

I'm going to have to change my panties since I'm soaking wet.

"Then we'll tell your parents."

"Yes, Bucky," you whispered as he released you, having to put some distance between the two of you. If you didn't, you'd be too tempted to kiss him. And if you kissed him, you wouldn't be able to stop.

"Good girl," he smirked, moving back to his spot in the corner as you tried to calm your pounding heart. "I'll be right here waiting."

Good girl?

You weren't sure if he was teasing you or trying to rile you up, but you could play, too.

Oh, this wedding is going to be a lot of fun.

Ah, hello Tumblr roleplayers, it has been a while! I am one of many who was left adrift after Omegle shut down and am on the search for rp partners.

I am looking for rp partners in a variety of fandoms, genres, ships, etc. I’ll have all of them listed in a hopefully organized manner below and will do my best to keep this list accurate. If you’re interested, feel free to shoot me a DM or interact with this post and I’ll reach out to you. But please do read through this post fully before doing so, thanks!

A Little About Myself:

-Age: 20+

-Pronouns: She/They

-Experience: I’ve been roleplaying off and on in a variety of fandoms and styles for around 10+ years

What I’m Looking For In A Roleplay Partner:

-Age: Roleplayers who are at least 20+ as well

-Style: I’m open to a variety of styles, I roleplay everything from one sentence “text message” style to multi-paragraph advanced lit. Though my preferences tend to lean towards lit/advanced lit.

-Location: I’d prefer someone who’s comfortable transitioning to Discord, once we agree on what we want to rp

-Expectations: One of the things I loved about Omegle were the casual vibes when it came to when an rp needed to end. So, while I hope for some long term rps, I’m looking for people who will be okay with rps ending when interest dissipates. Without the need for big explanations as to why. This goes both ways! I won’t expect such explanations from you either if we start any sort of storyline and you end up wanting to drop out. The way I see it, this is meant to be a fun pass time and ideally shouldn’t feel like a stressful obligation for either of us.

“Steve!” Bucky yelled from the back of the car where he was loading their suitcases. “Let’s go or we’re gonna be late.”

“I’m coming! I’m coming!” Steve yelled as he ran out the front door, pulling it shut behind him and making sure it was locked. “I couldn’t find the business cards.”

“You packed them in the bag you’re taking for the expo.” Bucky slammed the trunk shut.

Steve slapped his forehead. “Oh that’s right. Where would I be without you?” Steve punched Bucky’s arm all bro like and went to the passenger side.

Bucky stood there watching the shorter man climb into the car. The feelings he’s had for his best friend since they started their vineyard together were stronger than ever. CelticStar, a combination of Steve’s Irish heritage and Bucky’s love for astronomy, was started by the two men after they graduated college. Steve with a Bachelors in Science in Viticulture and Bucky with a Bachelor in Business Administration, so Steve took care of the winemaking side while Bucky took care of the business and marketing side. Two halves coming together perfectly.

“Okay. So according to Google Maps it should take about eight hours to get to Sacramento.” Steve said as Bucky climbed in the driver’s seat. “Are you ready to spend eight hours in the car with me?” Steve teased.

No. “Absolutely, Punk.”

“Jerk.”

Steve fell asleep two hours into the car ride, leaving Bucky along with his thoughts. Thoughts that started going through what he needed to do for the expo and ended up about his feelings for his best friend. When they first met in elementary school, Bucky was the new kid at school and kept to himself but Steve, however, didn’t like that and dragged young Bucky into a game of knights saving the princess. Bucky didn’t understand why this blond skinny kid wanted to be friends with the weird new kid but their friendship flowed easily throughout the elementary years.

Middle school came and with that both boys learned new things about themselves. Steve got more health issues than he did in elementary school and Bucky realized he didn’t like girls like his male peers did. After talking with his parents, Bucky knew he was gay. He first thought he could be bisexual but dating girls didn’t appeal to him. When Bucky told Steve, the blond said okay and that was that. Steve would tease Bucky by pointing out guys he thought might be Bucky’s type which caused his best friend to blush and playfully shove him.

In high school, Bucky had his first relationship. Sam was the best first boyfriend Bucky could ever have. He didn’t push Bucky to do anything he didn’t want to do and was respectful of Bucky’s boundaries. Unfortunately, the two drifted and realized they were better as friends than dating. They’re still friends, along with Sam’s wife, Natasha, and they’ll help Steve and Bucky around the vineyard when they come to visit.

It wasn’t until college when Bucky realized he had feelings for his best friend. Steve went away for school and Bucky stayed local. With Steve being gone, Bucky felt like a piece of him left. It took a drunken night with Sam and Nat for Bucky to admit a part of him did leave, the part connected to Steve. Since then, Bucky’s kept his feelings for Steve to himself for two reasons. First, he’s not sure if Steve likes guys and second he doesn’t want to risk their friendship.

A snort brought Bucky’s attention to his passenger. The blond angel in the passenger seat of his car. The one who blesses Bucky’s dreams. Maybe after this weekend, after this expo, Bucky will tell Steve how he feels. But for right now Bucky will just turn the radio on at a quiet volume and continue on the road to the expo.

“Hi, Welcome to the Hilton. How can I help you?” The front desk receptionist greeted Bucky as he walked up. Steve stayed in the car while Bucky got checked in so they could just take their bags straight to their room.

“Hi, check in for Barnes.”

The receptionist typed Bucky’s information into the computer and found his reservation. “How many key cards would you like, sir?”

“Two, please.”

They handed Bucky the envelope that held the two key cards along with the wifi password. Bucky was given more information about the complimentary breakfast and other amenities. Bucky thanked them and turned to leave the lobby and head back to the car where Steve still was.

Bucky approached from the passenger side and before he got to the car, he noticed Steve was on the phone with someone. The smile on Steve’s face, and the way Bucky could tell he was laughing, pulled at his heart. Bucky’s not sure how much longer he could keep his feelings to himself. He just might risk their friendship and tell Steve how he feels.

Bucky walked up to the passenger side and tapped on the window. Steve jumped and was ready to fight whoever was there. Once he realized it was Bucky he calmed down and visibly relaxed. Bucky smiled sheepishly as he opened the door for the blond.

“Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you.” Bucky blushed as Steve crossed his arms over his chest with a playful glare at the taller man.

“My heart is already fragile!”

“I know! I’m sorry!”

Steve giggled as he punched Bucky’s shoulder. Just like he did before they left their shared house. “I’m just messin’ with ya, Buck. I know you didn’t mean it. So,” Steve walked to the trunk while Bucky went to the driver’s side and turned the car off and popped the trunk. “Did you get us checked in?”

Bucky nodded as he came to the back. “Yep, room 1718. First floor.”

“Sweet,” Steve grinned as he pulled his suitcase out of the trunk. “I can’t wait for this weekend.”

Bucky swallowed around the lump that formed in his throat, “Y-yeah. Me too.”

“You’ve got to be kidding me.” Bucky groaned as they walked into their room and saw there was only one bed. It looked like a king size bed but he’s not an expert in bed sizes. “I swear I requested two beds when I made the reservation.” Bucky set his bags down and turned to walk out the room to the front desk.

“Bucky,” Steve said calmly, grabbing Bucky’s forearm to stop him from leaving. The shorter man looked up at the taller man through his eyelashes. “It’s alright. I’m not that big so I don’t take up much space. And if needed, I can curl up in the chair that’s by the window.”

“You are not sleeping in a chair. Especially with your back.” Bucky looked at Steve. Steve had a defiance in his eyes that challenged Bucky to try and argue with him. Bucky sighed and turned to face Steve, “Only if you’re sure.”

Steve smiled, “I am. Now let’s get settled and get something to eat. I’m starving.” Steve playfully whined as he hung off Bucky’s arm. Bucky smiled at him and shook his head at Steve’s antics.

It’s the last night of the wine expo weekend and both men are ready to go home. They’ve made some great connections with some great businesses and hope to work with them in the future. They were also able to have people sample their most popular wine, Sauvignon Blanc, which a few smaller wine and spirits stores wanted to sell.

Now, Bucky’s laying on his back staring at the ceiling, trying not to wrap himself around the skinny man next to him. Having Steve sleeping next to Bucky has been torture. The last three nights Bucky’s slept but it hasn't been a deep sleep since he’s fighting himself about telling Steve. Bucky sighed quietly and turned his head to look at his bedmate. No better time than the present, Bucky thought.

“Steve?” Bucky whispered.

“Hmm?”

“Um…” Bucky fidgeted with the blanket. “I…uh…I have something to tell you.”

Steve turned to lay on his other side, facing Bucky, “What’s up?”

Bucky looked up at the ceiling and took a deep breath. He could do this. This is Steve. His best friend. “Um…”

Steve laid a hand on Bucky’s shoulder. “Hey, breathe. Whatever it is, I promise it won’t affect our friendship.

Bucky grimaced. “That’s the thing. It might.”

Steve sat up and turned on the lamp. “Okay. What’s going on Buck?”

Bucky sat up and moved so he was sitting against the headboard. “Okay. You know how I told you I’m gay right?” Steve nodded. “Well, uh, there’s someone I like.”

Steve smiled. “Ooo! Is he cute?”

Bucky smiled with a blush on his cheeks. “Yeah, he is. And, um, he’s…the guy I like…is…”

“Who, Bucky?”

Bucky looked Steve in his eyes and kept his gaze while he said, “You. I like you, Steve.”

Steve stared at Bucky with wide eyes, “Oh.”

Silence fell over both men. Bucky knew he should have waited until they were home because in the morning they’ll have to spend eight hours in the car back home. Bucky started to get out of bed before Steve stopped him.

“Bucky,”

“It’s okay, Steve. I understand. I’ll, um,”

“Bucky, sit down.”

Bucky didn’t realize he stood up. He sat on the edge of the bed with his back facing his friend. He fidgeted with his fingers as he waited for Steve to reject him.

“Bucky, I’m processing because I didn’t think this day would happen.” Bucky looked over his shoulder and Steve who had moved closer to him. “I mean, I’ve liked you since you came out to me.”

“Why didn’t you say anything? And I didn’t know you liked guys.”

Steve smiled sheepishly, “I was actually going to tell you the same day you came out to me.”

“Is that what you wanted to tell me when you said you had something to say?”

“Yeah.”

Bucky laughed as he turned his whole body to face Steve. “Well, aren’t we just a couple of silly ducks.”

“Silly ducks?”

“I don’t know, okay?”

Steve chuckled before he leaned closer. The air between both men was charged. Bucky flitted his eyes down to Steve’s lips. Steve cupped Bucky’s cheek and rubbed his thumb against Bucky’s cheekbone. Both men leaned in until their lips connected. Bucky grabbed Steve by his waist and pulled him closer. Steve wrapped his arms around the other man’s neck as his tongue ran across Bucky’s bottom lip. Bucky granted him access and pulled Steve closer. When the need for air became too much they pulled back and rested their foreheads against each other. Both men giggled and Bucky kissed Steve one more time.

“Does this mean I can cuddle you now?” Bucky asked with a twinkle in his eyes.

“God I hope so. Do you know how hard it’s been to keep myself from jumping you?”

Bucky laughed as he and Steve got settled back in bed now cuddled in each other’s arms. They pulled the blanket over themselves and breathed in the scent of each other. Out of all the scenarios Bucky had gone through in his head when he thought about telling Steve, this one was not once considered. He thought Steve would hate him but this moment, with Steve in his arms, was a better outcome than he would ever consider. Bucky closed his eyes and knew tonight would be the best sleep since they’ve arrived at the expo. Until Steve broke the silence with him asking,

“What if we made a banana flavored wine?”
