Elder Bones... what if I... made a ClanGen mod based off of Better Bones.

I hope they take that nutrition mechanic off the backburner soon, I feel like that update would be the perfect opportunity for someone to go in there with a BB-inspired mod.
#One of the Many things I'd like to do is make a 'nutrition post'#which would be like... the basis of me then delving into each clan's cuisine#I mention it a lot but RE: WindClan is seriously undernourished#Cats need a lot more fat in their diets than rabbits alone can provide#And the way BB deals with that is by treating insects as vegetables lmao#Because insects are actually much higher in fats than you realize#GOOD fats.#Plus then you could make a mod that adds intestinal parasites as a mechanic for not cooking food#Which could be a good challenge. Not only do you have to hunt but you need dedicated kitchen cats#bone babble

wholeheartedly and with as much gentleness as possible, i truly think there needs to be more discussion about downpour in the community as it is now. for a variety of reasons.
#not main tagging this right now but#some tag babbling. like#some of yall are unnecessarily cruel about downpour. seriously.#you don't have to like it but you can also stand not to tear down someone's work like this#if every word out of your mouth is just about how much you hate downpour. why are you still here?#and i mean that genuinely. it's unpleasant for you and for everyone else. and i say this as someone who still prefers vanilla's lore#at the same time i think it's a real issue where some people take downpour as gospel and assume things about other people's creative choice#even though downpour is a DLC and it's hard to make certain claims about canonicity because of that#it has been publicly acknowledged as being an official AU. multiple times. by the MSC devs themselves#downpour is a fan made passion project that was worked on for years and years before it got DLC status#it was never meant to be scrutinized in the way it is now. i think it's more appropriate to regard it as like#a really popular fanfic most of the fanbase has read#i just feel like. a lot of the community conflicts i've seen stem from downpour's messy existence as a DLC that was originally a mod#and i think it's valuable to have community discussions about that. but also this is tumblr. so. i'm probably asking for too much

The other week I was binging some Hawaii Five-O (the remake tv series that ran from 2010-20) and noticed Quinn Liu's (Katrina Law) outfit has a similar vibe to Jill's look in Death Island:
Granted this episode aired in 2019 before Death Island came out in 2023. I just wonder if there was a tiny bit of inspo here. Probably just coincidental as tank tops and jeans are a common combo. Plus Quinn is not sporting the layered tank look that Jill has on there.
So next I zoomed in on Quinn's necklace and again another similarity:
Quinn's necklace is similar to Jill's in RE3R (Jill still has the same pendant in Death Island but that one was more of a choker style and this one here matches the length better with Quinn's necklace.). Jill's pendant is more on a black cord while Quinn's is on a silver chain but same kind of style pendant.
Bringing up that unused hair concept from Death Island DVD extras again as I did in a previous Jill post I reblogged here. Again, a somewhat similar style (not hair color-wise, obviously). Ok maybe I am pushing it on that, 😂.
I just think it's neat finding similarities between RE and other media, intentional or not. 🤷

I installed a mod to make khajiit eyes glow because Sharaya's eyes barely showed up and when I took off a piece of armour her eyes disappeared.
Not the first time some creepypasta shit has happened to m through modding lol,
Not sure whether to try and fix it or make it part of character lore, like she stole an artifact from a daedric prince and they took her eyes or something.
My best idea is that she spared Erandur from the vaermina quest and was stricken with nightmares the night after, her soul being sent to Oblivion but her body remained in Nirn, after some mind games and her stealing the Skull of Corruption, she was essentially Kansas city shuffled by the daedra, she tries to return to her body and wake up with the staff in tow only to find it's horns plunged into her eyes.
Cool idea, and would be a fun way to have my cake and eat it too with the vaermina quest.
Plus the idea of playing a blind archer/stealth assassin really appeals to me, that and as a double class into an Alchemist doctor/ restoration enchanter. I'm sure I could find a cool way to make her a ",third eye" with a circlet that she can temporarily magically use should the story context need it.
as much as I don't like the idea of disabled people being "cured" of their disabilities, the idea of an enchanter/Alchemist relearning their skills from scratch by smell, taste, sound, and spiritual attunement, is really fucking cool and inspiring, also ties into the whole "legendary" skill system in the game pretty nicely as well.

I'll bet money that Patch 6 has destroyed my save file (again) and that I'm going to have to completely restart.
And if I do I swear to god I'm just going to walk right past the druids grove this time as I rush through Act 1. Sucks to be the tieflings and the entire Shadowlands, but such is life when the game destroys itself!

just curious, have you ever heard of Rain World? while the naming system there isnt the exact same nor is like particularly on display considering none of the playable characters following it, your names like "sky sat vigil" give off really similar vibes. rain world's naming system gives you stuff like "four needles under plentiful leaves", "looks to the moon", "six grains of gravel, mountains abound" etc etc. also its lore makes me want to run around and bite stuff it drives me insane its so fucking good
All I know about Rainworld is that there's a ton of overlap in BB!Fans and Rainworld fans! So something about my worldbuilding is feeding you guys and I appreciate that. Also there's Slugcats and a post-apocalyptic world based on constant floods and rains apparently? That's cool!
Any similarities to Rainworld's naming is unintended but welcome. BB's Clanmew name tweaks came completely from wanting to give more meaning to simple, two-part titles, especially to existing canon cats.
Months ago someone asked me directly if they could use my Clan Culture stuff for Rainworld worldbuilding and I stand by my resounding "Sure gohead." I tailor Clan Culture stuff for WC fans but I think it's fun to see so many xenofiction stories about cats borrowing from it, lmao. Everything I make's free to use.
