Is He Tian's quote still valid?
"Next time you make me mad again... I'm going to kiss you..."

alright now that we've all had time to digest...
which one of you is willing and able to tattoo these images onto the backs of my eyelids so that each and every blink grants me a glimpse of them in this perfect moment of bliss 🧎🏾♀️

I’ve been thinking about the significance of Mo Guanshan having He Tian pierce his ear.
Ear piercing, after what She Li did to him, is probably extremely traumatic.
He Tian knows this and refuses to pierce Mo-zi’s ear the first time he asks, because he’s worried about that trauma and doesn’t want to hurt Mo.
So by allowing—asking—He Tian to pierce his ear, he’s not only saying that he wants He Tian to make a permanent mark on his body, but he’s also saying that he fully trusts He Tian. When it was clear they truly trusted each other and Mo-zi asked again, this time it meant so much more.
It’s such a profound and meaningful action and I think later in this chapter when He Tian says 我什么都给你 (lit. “I’ll give you everything” but tbh the nuance is so much more than that) it’s not him just saying he’ll provide for Mo, it’s him saying there is nothing he wouldn’t do for him. The ear piercing shows that Mo is ready to accept that.

Imagining how often He Tian will lovingly stroke his fingers over the indents of Momo’s back dimples. Then retrace the path of his fingers with his lips.
