Another summer has come and gone. It didn’t look like we would have a season for awhile this spring, but the players and owners finally struck a deal in March. This season flew by fairly quickly with all the traveling I did. I was able to do all three Kansas City trips, trips back to Milwaukee and Chicago, and experience new cities like Des Moines, Dallas, and Los Angeles. Dodger Stadium was an incredible experience and one I had been wanting to do for years. Unfortunately it was after my idol Vin Scully had passed away. I got to see the view he had for all those years broadcasting Dodger games. The first half was a lot of fun for the Twins as they were in first place for the most part. The second half didn’t finish as well as I hoped, but it was another fun summer at the ballpark. I was able to go to fifty-eight games, which ties a personal record of games per season that I set in 2015 and 2021. Here’s to a hell of a season and the journey I went on for the past six months. Thank you to everyone, who attended games with me or helped me throughout the summer. It was a memorable one. From Carlos Correa’s first year as a Twin to Joe Ryan walking out to Fire On The Mountain in his starts to Adam Abrams announcing Gio Urshela’s name super long. I am truly blessed to be able to do what I love in life. I can’t wait for spring training in March.

My brother used to root for the Twins before he decided to switch his allegiance to his hometown team of the Guardians (Indians at the time). Are there any Twin City fans here?

Detroit Tigers-Minnesota Twins Series Preview
5.23.22-Beau Brieske RHP (0-3) 5.13 ERA Vs. Chris Archer RHP (0-1) 4.10 ERA
5.24.22-Elvin Rodriguez RHP (0-0) 13.50 ERA Vs. Sonny Gray RHP (1-1) 3.48 ERA
5.25.22-TBA Vs. Dylan Bundy RHP (3-2) 5.14 ERA
The Tigers At A Glance- Everyone thought the Tigers made a big leap forward in 2021 with 77 wins and some first round picks reaching the Major League level. Detroit has went 8-14 since the Twins last saw them and are tied for last with the Royals in the American League Central. The Tigers split what turned out to be a two-game series in Cleveland this weekend. Saturday’s game got postponed due to rain. Since we last saw the Tigers, Tyler Alexander is out with an eblow injury, Michael Pineda broke his middle finger on his pitching hand, Eduardo Rodriguez has a left ribcage sprain, Will Vest was put on the injured list, Austin Meadows has vertigo, and Victor Reyes has a right quad strain. Detroit claimed lefty Sam Howard from the Pirates and Brendon Davis from the Angels. Akil Baddoo was struggling so bad that he got sent to Toledo. Harold Castro has been the most consistent hitter with a .288 average. The Tigers have just twenty-one home runs in forty games. The pitching staff has been decent with a 3.63 ERA as a whole. The Twins will miss Tarik Skubal, who’s been really good. Wily Peralta has allowed just two runs over 16 1/3 innings of work. Alex Lange, Andrew Chafin, and Will Vest have been good in the bullpen. Gregory Soto has locked down seven saves on the year.
The Twins At A Glance- The Twins keep on finding ways to win games and Sunday’s game proved to be another point. They have won six of their last seven games and lead the division by four games over the White Sox. Trevor Larnach returned to the lineup on Sunday and went 0-for-5. Luis Arraez went 5-for-8 in the last two games of the Royals series and has a .336 average on the year. Carlos Correa and Byron Buxton were out of the starting lineup on Sunday after the Twins had won the first two games of the series. Gary Sanchez has smacked three homers and driven in thirteen runs in May. Danny Coulombe is set to begin a rehab assignment in Wichita this week. Josh Winder will get some rest after being placed on the injured list with a sore shoulder. He was pitching through the pain and the Twins want to rest him arm for a bit. The Twins starting staff owns a 3.25 ERA, which is fifth-best in baseball. Joe Smith has not allowed a run over 13 2/3 innings of work. Jhoan Duran hasn’t allowed a run over his past 7 2/3 innings.
What To Watch For- The Twins swept the Tigers in the first series of the year in late-April. Chris Archer is (2-3) with a 3.66 ERA in eleven starts against the Tigers. Miguel Cabrera has homered off him twice. Sonny Gray is (2-1) with a 3.23 ERA in six games versus the Tigers. Jonathan Schoop is 6-for-18 against Gray. Dylan Bundy is (0-2) with a 4.70 ERA in five games against the Tigers. The Tigers have not announced a starter for Wednesday, but that game could be postponed due to rain in the forecast. The Tigers are here in early-August when a makeup game could be played. The Twins were forced to finish the night game with the Dodgers and played a suspended game with the Astros earlier this month. The Twins need to continue to beat up on bad teams within the division this week.

Twins Rally Late To Beat Sox!
White Sox 1 Twins 2 W-Duffey (1-2) L-Graveman (0-1) SV-Pagan (2)
The Minnesota Twins somehow found a way to win yesterday despite just scoring one run. They looked to start a winning streak tonight as the team returned home to play the White Sox. Michael Kopech and Bailey Ober dueled it out as both starters threw four scoreless innings. Andrew Vaughn drilled a Bailey Ober fastball out to center for a solo homer to put the Sox on the board first. Meanwhile, Michael Kopech threw five shutout innings and struck out seven, while handing it over to the bullpen. Jose Ruiz had a perfect seventh and Aaron Bummer got the first two outs of the seventh. Kendall Graveman got out of the seventh then ran into some trouble in the eighth. Ryan Jeffers started it all with a ground-rule double to left. He reached third on a wild pitch and Luis Arraez drew a walk. Carlos Correa then hit a grounder to short that scored the game-tying run. Tim Anderson made a wild throw to first and Jose Abreu threw wildly to third. The two errors scored Luis Arraez to put the Twins on top 2-1 after eight innings of play. Eloy Jimenez made some noise with a lead-off double in the ninth. Emilio Pagan walked two guys to load up the bases, but retired Reese McGuire on a pop out. Pagan battled with Jake Burger in a long at-bat. He finally painted a fastball on the corner for a strikeout and the Twins picked up the win tonight at home.
-Final Thoughts- Bailey Ober was solid again tonight. He went five innings and allowed a run on five hits with six strikeouts. Griffin Jax threw two scoreless innings and fanned two. Tyler Duffey had a resurgent outing with two strikeouts in the eighth. Emilio Pagan got in and out of trouble for the save tonight. Trevor Larnach had two of the Twins five hits. The team hit 1-for-5 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base. Byron Buxton should get the start tomorrow in center field. Gary Sanchez was scratched late due to an undisclosed reason. Tomorrow, Vince Velazquez faces Dylan Bundy in Game 2 in a 3:05 start time from Target Field.

Mullins WO HR Helps O's Sweep Twins.
Twins 2 Orioles 4 W-Kimbrel (3-0) L-Jax (1-2)
The Minnesota Twins are finding out just how good the Orioles are. Baltimore has hit their way past the Twins and looked for the sweep at Camden Yards today. The Orioles were ready from the start as Gunnar Henderson led-off the first and crushed a Pablo Lopez fastball out to right-center for a solo homer. This put the O's up by a run after an inning of play. Pitching dominated for a good chunk of the day as Pablo Lopez and Albert Suarez threw up zeroes until the seventh inning. Manny Margot started a Twins rally with a one-out walk in the seventh. He was off with the pitch when Austin Martin singled him home to tie the game at one. Later in the inning, Kyle Farmer delivered a run-scoring single to left to put the Twins on top. The Orioles answered in the bottom of the seventh when Anthony Santander crushed a Steven Okert fastball out to left-center to even the game at two apiece after seven innings of play. The Orioles would rally in the ninth with a Ryan Mountcastle lead-off single to center. Cedric Mullins belted a Griffin Jax change-up out to right and the O's swept the Twins this week in Baltimore.
-Final Thoughts- Pablo Lopez was great today. He threw six solid innings and allowed one run on two hits with seven strikeouts. Steven Okert gave up a run in 2/3 of an inning, Brock Stewart struck out three of the four men he retired, and Griffin Jax gave up the walk-off homer to Cedric Mullins in the ninth. The Twins scattered five hits today and went 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position. They left six men on base. The team will get a much-neede day off before playing the Tigers at home on Friday night. Jack Flaherty will face Joe Ryan in Game 1.

O's Top Twins 11-3.
Twins 3 Orioles 11 W-Rodriguez (3-0) L-Paddack (0-1)
The Minnesota Twins have been tested with some good teams early in the season. The Orioles flexed their muscles in a win last night and Game 2 was tonight in Baltimore. The Orioles struck first in the second as Colton Cowser led-off with a single to right and James McCann doubled him home. Gunnar Henderson then crushed a Chris Paddack slider out to right for a two-run homer to put Baltimore up by three in a hurry. The Orioles got back to work in the third when Ryan O'Hearn and Cedric Mullins singled. Colton Cowser plated a run with an RBI groundout and Jordan Westburg smacked a Chris Paddack slider out to left to extend the Baltimore lead to six. The O's weren't done yet as Jackson Holliday walked and James McCann singled. Gunnar Henderson hit a run-scoring single to left and the rout was on. The Twins would find some offense in the fourth as Alex Kirilloff reached on a fielder's choice. Byron Buxton tripled him home and the Twins were on the board. The Orioles countered as Anthony Santander singled and reached second on a groundball. Colton Cowser singled home another run and the Baltimore lead was back to seven. The Twins inched closer in the sixth as Ryan Jeffers lined a one-out double to right. Alex Kirilloff singled him home to pull Minnesota within six. The Orioles got that run back with a Adley Ruschman single and a wild pitch. Anthony Santander greeted Caleb Thielbar with a run-scoring single to left to put the O's back up by seven. The Orioles weren't done yet as Ryan O'Hearn smoked a Jay Jackson slider out to right for a two-rn homer in the eighth. The Twins didn't go away quietly in the ninth with a Jair Camargo walk and Trevor Larnach single to right. Jose Miranda lined a run-scoring single to center and the Twins pulled within eight. Mike Baumann retired the next three men and the Orioles picked up the series win tonight at home.
-Final Thoughts- Chris Paddack got knocked around tonight. He gave up nine runs on twelve hits over 5 1/3 innings with two strikeouts. Caleb Thielbar got the final two outs of the sixth and Jay Jackson allowed two runs over two innings with three strikeouts. Ryan Jeffers stayed hot with two more hits on the night. The Twins hit 2-for-10 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base. Trevor Larnach was called up and Matt Wallner was optioned to St. Paul. Tomorrow, Pablo Lopez will start for the Twins. Tyler Wells will be scratched from his start for the Orioles.

The Minnesota Twins split a four-game series from the Tigers this past weekend. The team headed over to Baltimore to face off with the Orioles tonight. The Orioles were ready from the start as they loaded up the bases in the first inning. Jordan Westburg knocked in a pair with a double to center to put Baltimore on the board. The Twins answered in the second as Jose Miranda smacked a Cole Irvin fastball out to left for a solo homer. The O's got that run back as Ryan O'Hearn smacked a Louie Varland cutter out to center for a solo homer in the third. Baltimore wasn't done yet with Ryan Mountcastle and Jordan Westburg singles. Cedric Mullins hit a sac fly to center to put the O's up by three. The Twins bats got to work in the fourth with a Byron Buxton lead-off double.
