Considering canon has given us:
The True Love’s Kiss spell break during Dark Cupid
AND Sleeping Beauty-mode frozen Adrien Agreste in Style Queen
What are the odds that as things go dark...and maybe once they know who Hawkmoth is (or perhaps because of it), we see both of these two concepts finally meet in the middle.
Given all the craziness they’ve already gone through and how being close in Ephemeral, even fleetingly was all Gabriel needed to turn the tides in his favor in the darkest way possible, I kind of doubt even if the Love Square reveal to each other happens before Hawkmoth is unmasked. If anything their love and their doubts might make them both only pine that much harder.
Until Adrien tries to break free of Gabriel’s control.
Gabriel already has the alliance rings to pretend his son is there and real.
And with no Nathalie to keep Adrien in line...and the Gorilla’s competence already in question, it wouldn’t be a leap to see Gabriel take a drastic move.
Especially since he conveniently has had at least two glass coffins for his wife since he seems to be pretty prone to smash the glass in a fit of rage.
At least to anyone who might not be watching him close enough.
Of course, Marinette would know. She would absolutely worry...and with maybe only Alya else to lean back on, her Gabriel Agreste theory might come back up... (especially since Alya’s early theory was far more spot on than either of them ever realized.)
It just would make Adrien’s suddenly compliant behavior all the more suspect.
She wouldn’t let him suffer. Not when she could do something about it.
We know from Style Queen that Plagg could be free when Adrien was in stasis, so long as he escaped.
We also know Adrien still has the spy tools he picked up from when Felix dropped them.
Getting down into the basement would be easy. And with Plagg unseen by cameras, he could easily mess with the cameras to hide Ladybug’s presence in the Agreste basement.
Surely it would be shocking for Ladybug to see Adrien’s mother lying prone in the middle of the basement, after she was supposed to have been dead for more than a year. But it would be seeing Adrien lifeless and unmoving that would be the most chilling. Especially after knowing how free and animated as Chat Noir that Adrien had proven himself to be.
It all felt wrong.
She tried jostling him. She tried pleading.
She even tried crying.
Her mind raced and must have tried a dozen more things -- to include her Lucky Charm to bring her Prince back to her.
Until, finally, a mad, truly reckless thought occurred.
True love’s kiss had worked once before.
She just hadn’t realized why. She never would have imagined Chat Noir and her Adrien were one in the same.
So, Ladybug’s powers weren’t the only ones she had.
Which meant there was hope.
With her earrings beeping furiously, Ladybug leapt forward, hastily pressing her lips to Adrien’s chilled one before she could second guess herself again.
Not daring to breathe. At least not until he finally did.
Adrien’s green eyes fluttered open.
The soft pink glow of her de-transformation haloing around her head as Adrien slowly smiled back up at Marinette, his hand lifting up to dry the tears from her eyes. “Hello, my Lady.”
She dove back against Adrien as he sat up, hugging him for all he was worth.
“Not that I’m complaining,” Adrien smirked, fingertips hovering just over his lips. “But this isn’t exactly the way I expected to be woken up. Your plans never fail to amaze me.”
Bracing her hands on either cheek, she covered her lips over his once again. “It was a last resort,” she assured, exhaling as she backed away from him a little more. “However, unless you want that kiss to be our last, we both need to suit up quick, to deal with your father.”

Dreaming Wide Awake - Chapter 34
PREVIEW:
By the time Nino went home, the sun was fading and Adrien was exhausted. For the first time since he’d woken from the coma, he was looking forward to sleep.
Though, when he climbed in bed tonight and closed his eyes…what world would he find himself in?
Shaking the idea out of his head, he said his goodnights to Nathalie, then padded back to his room with Plagg, yawning as he stepped inside.
Plagg, on the other hand, was wide awake, his mouth running like water. ‘I’m telling you, Adrien, this is the life. This is how it’s meant to be. I can’t believe your father preferred all that tension and silence to – to this.’
Adrien leaned against the bathroom door. ‘Oh yeah? And what’s this?’
‘Are you kidding? This is – this is freedom! This is talking and laughing and – and – the biggest plate of cheese I’ve had in at least two centuries!’
Adrien yawned again, laughing at the same time. ‘You really are something, Plagg. But I know what you mean. Today was…maybe the best day of my life.’
‘Whoa.’ Plagg hovered in front of his face, his eyes large. ‘You mean it, kid?’
Adrien scrunched up his brow in thought, casting his mind back over everything that had happened today. Marinette, Felix and Kagami visiting. Reuniting with Plagg and Tikki. Kissing Ladybug. Kissing Ladybug some more. Seeing Nino. Sharing his first proper family meal since his mother died. ‘…yeah. I mean it. Today was…incredible.’
‘…so why do you sound uncertain?’
He didn’t answer. He was staring at the door to the ensuite now, his mind filling with the details of the day that had been less incredible. Like hearing his name in the bathroom in the morning.

I kept thinking about this last night and today after we found out about Lila's role in Season 5:
Lila could somehow convince Gabe to lend her Adrien's amok so she can kiss Adrien by telling him to kiss her (with the amok obviously he has no choice) and then Marinette would be ripe for Akumitization. Since she's already so stressed from losing all the Miraculous. Lila does give back the amok otherwise she would definitely lose her chance with "the project" and any chance to make Marinette suffer is good for her.

Man, hearing about the season 1 days of miraculous makes remember when we first saw the leaks of the season and first the art for the pearls and stone, Alya with the fox (and how everyone called her Volpina), and Chloe with the bee. Man, those were days. I also remember how everyone was thinking Gabriel had the peacock and Emilie had the butterfly originally. I even remember when we first got that one image of Pixie Girl, and everyone thought she was a teenage Emilie with the butterfly miraculous that was going to appear in a flashback episode 😆. Ah, I miss those days.
Gosh so much is taking me back.
I remember expanded Square chaos. I remember there were theories of Ladybug and "Volpina"/Rena being rivals/antagonists to each other as a reversal of them being best friends + clearly Marinette wouldn't trust the new Fox (which I was never crazy about, especially as you typically didn't see that for Adrien and Nino, felt like turning girls against each other); and QB and LB were going be friendly. And there were speculated shenanigans for QB and RR, I think there was also a small rise of Chloya and the idea that maybe they'd have their own Square going.
Some I didn't see, like the theory that Pixie was teen Emilie, but I did see that she was planned for the NY Special, and there were the plans for the Shanghai Special.
I really did theorize that Marinette and Adrien were going to get their own exclusive Specials to be focused on, with Marinette in Shanghai and Adrien in NY and he for sure was going to work with Pixie.
Another theory I had was where Fu was going to become Marinette's mentor, Gabriel was going to be Adrien's, cause I did like the idea that he had the Peafowl, not Emilie. And I thought this concept art of Duusu was her being furious with Gabriel literally shutting her away.
And something was going to go down and this "Paon" was going to steal the Peafowl from Gabriel.
Or she already did and what Gabriel had was a fake.
And potentially that HM was who Gabriel and Emilie feared and that's why Adrien wasn't allowed out.
Those really were the days. The theories were so fun. And much of it I think was more interesting than what we got.
And it was a time of aus. I don't know how many aus are being done for ML these days, I think most are salt fics now, but that was the time to have fun, do different spins. Doing kwami swaps. Life swaps. Cowboy au.
You could get creative with akumas, like, I remember finding old fics that swapped Marientte with Bridgette and trapped her in a different reality/timeline, and I kinda wish the Paris Special did that. Off topic, but I feel the Paris Special should've gone full comedy and full reversal for characters. And that we actually got to see this different Paris.
Like, could you imagine Marinette and Emonette swapping places, either through akuma or Bunnyx, and Marinette's scrambling trying to figure out how to get back and how to keep going in this topsy turvy world where apparently Ladybug is a villain? "Hawk Moth" is a good guy? Wtf is Chat wearing? Wtf happened to Adrien.
And you got Emonette just needing shades cause this world is so bright and sunny and why do these people keep talking to her? Tf happened to Adrien, was he a poser this whole time? HM's a villain? But of course he's a bad villain just like he's a bad hero. And ooooh she's going to have so much fun with Chloe... and who tf is this Lila and what does she think she's doing picking a fight with Emonette. Oh, she's adding her to her list...
And you could add to it if kwamis were also kinda reversed.
Emonette stuck with canon Tikki trying to get her Marinette back, but also trying to rein in Emonette, try to be that voice of reason and her consciousness, and oh, she's dumping all of Chloe's things down the toilet... she's got her work cut out for her.
Meanwhile Special Tikki is more "pure luck" and is more chaotic and sporadic, she's not outright malicious, but she's just rolling with that neutralness of luck, it having good and bad and it comes down to karma and your own actions. She's just here to sit and watch the consequences play out. Emonette was kinda funny though she was predictable in her karma as her negative actions fed negative consequences. But man, this Marinette is freaking hilarious. Tikki is constantly eating popcorn, enjoying the show cause she never knows what she's going to get with this well meaning if all over the place Marinette.

What will pollen's powers be in the Fashion club au? Plant manipulation?
I really like the idea of a dagger for bee!Flora/Honeybee, since it was a really cool idea for Fav and Mads.
But, giving her honey powers would be fun. There was an old, pre-english dub ML fic about Adrien getting the bee and it had a lot of cool speculation on what the bee's powers could be and those ideas stuck with me.

Lost and Found AU
Pre-reveal, right around now in S5.
Chat Noir takes damage to the ring in battle.
He can safely detransform, but Plagg and the ring aren’t okay. Plagg is wholly sick but has a little bit of energy to warns Adrien not to try to transform again before cuddling into a shivering ball.
Adrien has literally no one he can talk to about this and is suffering.
Meanwhile, Marinette freaks out when she realizes Chat Noir isn’t showing up.
Worse, a very concerned (and still very tiny) Bunnyx slips out of the burrow when she realizes something is very wrong.
They tried to reset the timing but there was no way to win that battle without Chat Noir’s ring taking damage.
So, it was up to Marinette to find him.
Alya was helping, too. They spent nearly a week of evenings together (when Hawkmoth let them) trying to puzzle out who he was. Unfortunately, they were both at a loss. Especially since a very apologetic Tikki still couldn’t say his name.
It didn’t help that Adrien was out sick (staring dolefully at a broken ring.)
He pulled a cardboard Chat Noir when Ladybug was in battle but he couldn’t safely get close to help her, and that just made him feel more useless.
Marinette is now determined that she needs to find him.
Run down and very much missing her partner, a very weary Marinette confides to her mother that she had lost her friend.
Sabine ruffles her hair, suggesting she retrace her steps to find out where things went wrong.
Suddenly inspired, Marinette sits up. Jumping out of her chair she raced towards the stairs before backpedaling to her Mom to give her the biggest hug. “Thank you!”
As soon as she scrambled back up the steps, Ladybug calls back Bunnyx, asking her to bring them both back to the last patrol before the battle.
Between them both, they shadow Chat Noir back home. Which was far closer to her own house for comfort. She almost got caught by herself.
Ladybug gasping when she recognizes both the mansion...and that window that Chat Noir ducked into all too well.
Bunnyx rolls her eyes and pulls Ladybug out of sight to talk some sense into her. Of course, Ladybug she also just 100% revealed herself because who else in Paris would panicking like that for Adrien Agreste.
Alix helps her get her head back in the game. They needed to grab this Adrien so he could shift the balance of the battle and keep his ring and Plagg safe. Tapping her watch, Alix smirked. “It’s time.”
Weirdly, the pun only has Marinette smiling with an unreal level of fondness. “It’s almost too bad he missed that.”
Sighing heavily, Alix suited back up, more than ready to set things to right and dive back into the safety of her Burrow until Hawkmoth was gone. Cavities were far more of a threat when you couldn’t stay anywhere for long. Thankfully, she would only be dealing with those two in small doses. They were bad enough when they could both hardly even speak to each other, but knowing they were long-time banter sparring partners meant that they would be as bad as Nino and Alya and Mylene and Ivan in no time.

Dreaming Wide Awake - Chapter 32
PREVIEW:
Adrien didn’t have to wait long before he saw Ladybug swinging his way, over the neighbouring rooftops. Only a few minutes, and there she was, a gorgeous streak of red hurtling towards the mansion. She must have transformed and left home as soon as she’d sent her last message, promising to come pick him up.
Just the sight of her made something in his chest loosen, and he eased back from the window as she landed on the sill outside.
But when she smiled at him through the glass, the weight of the moment slammed into him, almost knocking him backwards.
This was the first time he’d seen the real Ladybug since the white room.
The first time since he’d learned her identity.
She gave him a shy half-smile through the glass and pointed at the window latch, a request in her eyes. Let me in. The way she moved, the way her mouth crooked, the sparkle in her eyes…all of it was so Marinette. How had he not worked this out sooner?
He opened the window, letting the warm air rush into his room. ‘That was fast.’
‘Well…you needed me.’

Hey just so y’all know:
After much deliberation my curiosity did get the better of me seeing as I’m an absolute sucker for spoilers and had never read a full on show bible (I’ve read loglines, pitches, and character sheets, but never a bible and it is fascinating). So I did ultimately read all of the info that was leaked from the ML show bible which means I now have a crap ton of info on character backgrounds, season 5, and a bit from season 6.
That being said, I just wanted you guys to know that out of respect for both the creators (especially after having read stolen information) and the fans, I absolutely will not be using any of this information toward speculation, theories, analyses, memes, art, or fics until every single episode has aired. I still have my theories and ideas that weren’t confirmed or denied within the bible’s information which is both comforting and irritating seeing as some of them have to have answers somewhere and I can’t believe wouldn’t be in there, but it also means I can continue going on about them (which I absolutely will) without jeopardizing anyone’s viewing experience.
I know that choosing to read it was a controversial decision given how much information it contained (my only defense being that I didn’t know it was flat-out stolen when I initially read it, but even so I knew it was a leak of some sort), but I’m gonna keep my blog to the same level of spoilery discussion I’ve always had here, stopping at screenshots, trailers, and tweets in addition to the episodes no matter the language they air in.
I will say that although I do feel bad about having read the show bible, I truthfully think I learned a lot from it from a production perspective, especially given that this is the field I currently work in but not yet at this level. I still have the utmost respect for the creators of the show, especially after seeing how much heart and soul they put into all the background information and rules of the universe. There’s some crazy stuff going on in this show and I’m super excited about getting to see it in time.
All this is to say, I posted about the leak earlier this week, and wanted y’all to know that you have nothing to worry about while following me. Mouth is shut, and I’m anxiously awaiting the English release of episode 1 and the Portuguese release of episode 2.
This show may be the death of me, but we can all go down together.

i'm going through ye olde fic ideas folder to come up with some story pitches and i found this gem and it's officially my new clown prediction for strike back. wrote back in 2020... never thought we'd get this far.
“Marinette... I think my dad might be Hawkmoth,” Adrien had confessed tearfully. “I don’t know what to do.”
But Marinette knew what to do. She had to tell her partner.

I am betting he gets a permanent miraculous out of this.
And this is going to be the countdown to lead to all of the chosen by Marinette getting miraculous permanently.

Okay wait a minute
I made this post earlier as my initial reaction to the Ephemeral synopsis, but now I'm thinking about this more and hmmm
Imagine a scenario similar to what I described before. When asked by Ladybug/Su Han to reveal his identity to someone as a contingency, Chat Noir doesn't like it. He doesn't want to be controlled, he likes that no one (as far as he's aware) knows who he is, and the only person he would want to tell is Ladybug herself, but she still thinks it's too dangerous if they know each other's identities directly. So he comes up with the perfect loophole. He tells them that he will tell Adrien Agreste his civilian identity. In his mind this is perfect because he doesn't actually have to tell anyone his secret AND whenever Ladybug needs Chat-him she'll go to Adrien-him, so that will be more efficient.
But everything is NOT perfect. Potential Chat Blanc issues on Ladybug's end aside (we'll assume they either talk through it or it's not brought up at all), there's another very big problem with this scenario. Felix. At some point after this is put into place Ladybug will find Adrien because she needs Chat Noir, and Felix will be impersonating him, and whatever follows will vary depending on what exactly Felix knows by that point, but it will definitely not be good no matter what. Even Felix just finding out that Adrien "knows" Chat Noir's identity would be very dangerous if he allied with Hawk Moth and shared this information.
From there Luka would probably have to get involved too. And that's about where I run out of thoughts beyond "big akuma battle and saving the day."
I'm not really expecting the ep to go this route, but it could be really interesting if it did.
