Ena will take the longest to trust you but after some time seeing how Mizuki's mental health improved she will slowly start trusting you.

✮ You're also the reason Mizuki's Attendance will increase mainly just because they don't want to be separated from you but it doesn't matter as long they're attending.

✮ At first, Mizuki would be so scared to tell you about bullies worrying that you would also become their target. You need to talk with them about it and of course defend them.

✮ As you expected you are their safe space Mizuki trusts you completely almost blinded by love. Please be gentle with them, they need someone to stay with them through thick and thin.

✮ As much as they are affectionate Mizuki still faces insecurity. They believe that you deserve someone better or that they are dragging you down. Whatever Mizuki feels insecure they will try to distance themselves from you. Some reassurance and cuddles should fix them

✮ Possessive. Very possessive. Not on the toxic level but close. As I said earlier Mizuki believes that someone better than them can steal you away and with their insecurities that's a lot of people. They can't give you away when you're so good to them. Mizuki will get upset if someone interrupts your date even if it's in public they believe that they should spend this time with no one but themselves.

anyways. heres some headcanons of playing roblox with pjsekai / genshin characters

a/n: this is my first time making this format !! super sorry if it seems out of character and the limited amount of characters but i hope you enjoy !!!

whenever you play horror games like forgotten memories or the mimic, they will literally only play because you're playing. they're scared shitless even in the title screen. as the music intensities they're will hide behind you and you have to find the objective of the game for them. after this gaming session, i don't think you can even play rainbow friends with them...

- AN SHIRAISHI, tsukasa tenma

very nice and respectful in the game. will help out other players and have fun, no matter what you're playing. you could even play meepcity and they would enjoy it. it's so wholesome. just make sure you don't let them give the win to someone else; you gotta be #1 in race around the world!

- KAEDEHARA KAZUHA, EMU OTORI, ichika hoshino, haruka kiritani, jean gunnhilder, minori hanasato, honami mochizuki, amber, kohane azusawa

don't even WORRY about them giving a win to someone else, because they are COMPETITIVE. don't let their usual demeanor fool you, oh no. no matter what, they're going to show everyone to not join THEIR GAME. they only find out everyone's left when they see no one's name, besides yours. the last thing left in chat is someone saying "tryhard".

- cyno, nene kusanagi, toya aoyagi, airi momoi, fischl, kaeya alberich

....doesn't know how to move around. it was chaos even trying to play a co-op game. don't even get me started on trying to play double trouble.

- SHIZUKU HINOMORI, shenhe, zhongli

initially wants to disagree. you literally have to bribe them to play, but once you do... they become so invested in it that you have to get them to play another game. will literally speedrun speedrun 4 if they wanted to.

SCARAMOUCHE, diluc, akito shinonome, shiho hinomori, xiao, mona

so foul. so so so foul. loves threating to dox people whenever they lose a game. probably tried to send a message but it showed up as ##############. their account was probably banned that following week.

ENA SHINONOME, SCARAMOUCHE, nene kusanagi, tighnari, KAVEH, itto

LOVES good designed games. probably loved story games and seeing updates on previous ones. would be SOOO good as a beta tester, because they will literally share all of their thoughts and technical and creative ideas. will even analyze the music if they need to. would probably learn lua to code a game in roblox.

- RUI KAMISHIRO, ALBEDO, sucrose, kanade, mizuki akiyama

...has doxxed someone. hasn't even told you that they've even did it. it comes up in a conversation and you don't know whether to be mortified or subtly impressed.

has played every single roblox game out there, it feels like. wanna beat rainbow friends? they've beat it twice! wanna play epic minigames? they're literally level 62. you are impressed, but also, how????

Rui Kamishiro

Rui finds your flustered expression and actions amusing. He had no idea how simple it would be to make you lose your cool.

The first time it happened, he was barley doing anything. All he did was take your hand in the Kamiyama halls, and didn’t realize how red you were until the two of you arrived at the destination. Rui noticed how fixed your eyes were on his hand on yours and pieced it together form there.

“I didn’t even know that shade of red existed, isn’t that interesting. And are you breathing ok?”

You did everything you could to keep your eyes off of Rui’s face, knowing that would only make you more flustered. His voice alone was doing that! It felt embarrassing standing there trying your best to muster up words, all while Rui stood there holding back chuckles.

After this incident, Rui would always make an attempt at flustering you whenever he saw you, and it always worked. Sometimes he even felt bad! How can someone get so red and shaky from a kiss on the cheek? Or a hand on the shoulder? So while on one hand he might have felt slightly bad, but on the other he found it interesting and amusing.

Rui won’t publicly humiliate you with your weakness however. If you two are in a group setting with close friends such as Tsukasa & Mizuki, he might slightly make you flustered. But in a larger group or with people less known he will refrain from it.

You can’t stand the grip Rui has on you, but you don’t mind as long as it’s him.

Tsukasa Tenma

Tsukasa is oblivious at first. He thought that you were always just so warm and always had a red face in situations, it took a ridiculous amount of time for him to realize why you were exactly like that.

You always had a struggle for words around Tsukasa when he was being ever so slightly affectionate. You’d feel your face heat up and lose your train of thought over almost anything this guy does. And what does he say?

“Oh (Name)! Are you feeling alright, you’re so red?!”

Tsukasa would make a big deal out of it… not to embarrass you or because he knows you’re flustered, but because he’s just so oblivious. But do you wanna tell him the real reason? No! Cause he’d somehow find a way to make your flustered state worse.

Just the way he calls you over in a public setting or how soft-spoken he is with you in private makes you so red. It feels like you’re about to burst in those situations. And it was when Tsukasa was being gentle and quiet with you that he realized why you’re always so red.

“Wait, (Name), don’t tell me you’ve been flustered this whole time! And you never told me?”

When you finally confess that yes, that is the case, Tsukasa’s first question is if you’re ok with him flustering you intentionally. Even if you can’t control it- he worries about making you feel embarrassed and doesn’t want you to get that idea.

Tsukasa is sweet about it, you’re grateful for such a good boyfriend. Even if you can’t keep your cool around him.

Mizuki Akiyama

You and Mizuki have a weekly date where you share something about yourselves to the other, and learn more about it and how it can positively affect your relationship. It was a cute idea brought up by Mizuki when you two first started going out- and was a great way to get to know each other better.

On one of these dates, you confessed how easy it is for you to get flustered. To which Mizuki just says ;

“I’ve known… it’s pretty obvious (Name), I just didn’t wanna say anything incase you were ashamed.”

Was it really that obvious? You were glad Mizuki didn’t point it out actually, otherwise you would have probably been worse. However now that you have admitted? They will tease you a lot about it.

On a regular day, Mizuki will just give you a few compliments to see you blush. But on one of Mizuki’s good days, they’re all over you. Always giving you compliments, taking your hand- hell. One time Mizuki even fed you during lunch. It was embarrassing, but a somewhat sweet moment.

It’s a good thing Mizuki also gets flustered, otherwise you’d have no way to get back at them.

Akito Shinonome

Akito hates how easily flustered you are. Not because he’s embarrassed of you- oh no definitely not. But because he is just as easily flustered. Will he admit this? Absolutely not. Never in a million years will you catch him admitting to this.

The thing with Akito is that he’ll get flustered when he sees how much of an effect he has on you. He could be doing something so minor like leaning on you and he’ll catch you going red. All he can think is this is because of him, how you feel about him.

You might get easily flustered in general, but with him it’s so much more. Although he gets just as flustered- Akito will still be cocky about this. He’ll tease and tease when you two are alone, you can’t catch a break.

If by some chance you catch Akito red faced, you will never let him live it down. You can finally get back at him. He’ll bury himself into the crook of your neck and say ;

“Just please don’t tell the others- I swear I’ll stop teasing you if you don’t tell them.”

It’s funny to you. After his secret is finally revealed, Akito is much nicer. But it feels better to know both of you are deep down a flustered mess for each other.

Somehow the situation makes Akito softer as well. Now he wouldn’t be afraid to cling onto you or be the little spoon. In fact- he’s not even embarrassed to ask like he was before. You’ll gladly let Akito cling onto you or be the big spoon, he feels like a gigantic teddy bear like this.

It’s nice to be yourselves with each other, and having no embarrassment of your flusteredness.

↬ it isn't much of an overexaggeration to say that rhodes island attracts the sick and injured like a magnet does metal, but MIZUKI still can't help his part-concern, part-surprise at the sight of your injuries. regardless if it's a papercut or a stab wound, though, his worry is palpable through the slightest furrow in his brow and his question of, "oh? what happened?"

↬ while he's nothing of a medical expert, he seems to be the type to think that there's little that some bandages and salve can't fix. provided it's not too serious of an injury that you have, he's quick to sit you down and get to work on cleaning, disinfecting, and dressing your wound, making light conversation as he does — conviction wanted him to try out a new game they and closure are making, and the funny thing is that the player makes a funny oof noise when they collide with objects...

↬ if you don't mind telling him, he'll probably ask about how you got injured to begin with. if you're the accident-prone or enemy-aggro-attracting type he's not too surprised (but it's not as if he likes seeing you in pain), but if you're not, he'll let out a little trailing, contemplative hum. either way, he makes two propositions for you.

↬ first, stick closer to him during missions from now on so he can watch over you. and the second? let him kiss your wounds better to get rid of the sour look on your face.

You might frequently have to go to the hospital because of this guy's rancid cooking (/j but still don't let him cook)

He always saw hospitals and going to the doctors office as an escape from home and piano when he was little, which leads to him not really understanding your fear at first, so he will ask you why you're scared of doctors

Toya definitely is the type to always hear you out and he's really understanding when you explain it to him, even if the reason you're scared isn't particularly big

Really worries for you sometimes!! He doesn't want you to skip doctors appointments, it breaks his heart for you to be unwell yet scared to seek help from people that better your health

He offers to attend with you to your doctors appointments for emotional support, lets you squeeze his hands as hard as you possibly can in contrast to his hands, who nicely hold yours while he strokes his thumb over your knuckless

If you don't want him to sit right next to you at your doctors appointment, he patiently waits outside, he immediately wants to be there for you when you get out of the doctors room

Brings you to the arcade after and wins the biggest cuddliest plushie for you, he knows it gets hard but he's always proud of you for getting through it <3

He's another one who doesn't completely understand why you have a fear of doctors

He totally understands the uneasy feeling and vibe of hospitals though, the feeling of many unwell people in one building doesn't feel nice at all and he aknowledges that!

He'll understand a lot more when you further elaborate about your fear though

He really wants you to push through your doctors appointment, he doesn't want you out of all people to be sick and helpless after all

He tries to nicely and subtly recommend you to go see a doctor when he notices you're unwell and require medical attention, while also reminding you that he'll reward you for living through those appointments

If you ask him, he'll be present at your doctors appointments while often shooting you glances of care, heck he'll even talk for you!!

After doctors appointments he tries to get rid of your lightheadedness and stomach ache by going to a cafe and getting you food in your stomach, since it's his treat he'll pay

If you want, he also gives you the opportunity to talk about the appointment afterwards to get it out of your system <3

》 Mizuki!!

I feel like they'd find going to the doctors unsettling too, despite finding it necessary

For whatever reason you're afraid of going to the doctors, they'll let you ramble all about it

They find your health extremely important so they definitely look out for you and even remind you to do stuff that'll even prevent you from going to the doctors as well

But when you inevitably do have to go to the doctors, they're right with you within a second

They'll imply that they can attend to your appointment as well as they can wait for you in the waiting room

If you let them attend your appointment they'll be super gentle, they can talk for you, hold your hand they can fill in the things you forgot to add, they'll do anything for you!!!

They reward you so well after a doctors appointment!! Whatever you want!! They'll do anything, like buying you stuff, giving you lots and lots of affection or cooking for you!!

Like Akito, they let you talk about your appointment too so that you can let go and move on, they're super proud of you for pushing through it <3

You sat at your desk in disbelief, looking down at the graded test the teacher had just handed back. A red F, you couldn't believe it. You had studied so hard for this too! You slumped down in your seat all mopey, this of course caught An's attention.

"Hey, everything alright?".

"No... I got an F...!" you whispered out sheepishly.

"So? I don't get that many good grades, and look at me!"

"You're not helping...".

"Haha sorry..." An stared at you with a sad smile, figuring out how to cheer you up. That's when she got an idea. She looked over at Mizuki, who had decided to actually show up to class today. They sat beside you on the opposite side. Once An caught their attention, they looked at her with a curious gaze.

"Hmm?".

An quietly pointed over at you, who was currently burrying their face against their desk. She then gave Mizuki a knowing look, once they caught onto An's plan, they both gave off a playful smirk.

"Hey, Y/n?".

"Mmm...?" you didn't bother bringing your head back up.

"Are you gonna stay hiding down there?" Mizuki asked with a slight chuckle, although they were genuinly concerned for your wellbeing and wanted to make you feel better, just like An.

You gave a nod at their question, causing the other two to giggle at you.

"Haha! You're so precious~" An teased, grinning victoriously when she caught the back of your neck heating up. "Well if you're gonna stay down there, guess there's only one way to get you back out~".

Your heart dropped at the tease, your face heating up even more as you could practically feel your body tingling in anticipation. You didn't dare say anything, just kept your head stubbornly hidden.

"Hehe, such a stubborn cutie~" Mizuki joined in, their finger poking their way to your ribs.

"Eep—!" an involuntary squeak escaped your lips, the touch causing you to jump in your seat. This made them giggle in amusement.

"Aww, are you still oh so ticklish?~" An's finger found it's way to your leg, giving your kneecap a loving squeeze.

"GYAH!" that was enough to make you sit back up straight, your cherry cheeks and wobbly smile revealed for them to look at.

"That's much better! Just look at that pretty face~" An's nails kept lightly gliding along your knee, occassionnally scribbling under it's soft flesh.

"NOHOHOA! AHAHAN PLEHEHEASE!" you slapped both hands over your mouth, trying so desperate to hide the embarrassing sounds that kept spilling out of you.

"Heyyy, no hiding from this~" Mizuki teased from the other side, their nails now playfully wiggling under your arm. Causing your arms to instantly come crashing down.

"GYAHAHAHA!" there was nothing else you could do besides throw your head back in pure, unrestrained laughter. Your wide smile and flushed cheeks revealed in all their glory.

"So, are you gonna stop being all mopey, or do you need more tickles?~" An asked teasingly, slowing down the knee tickles to some light tracing. Mizuki's nails also slowed down to give you more room to breathe and hopefully talk.

"Ahahaha... I-I'm gohohood...!" you tittered out, even the light tickles was enough to keep you all giggly and happy.

"You sure? You seem to like this~" An teased with a final squeeze to your knee. That only made your cheeks blush an even deeper color. "Haha! Alright fine, but don't think this is over yet~" An warned with a playful smile and a mischevious twinkle in her eye. Oh god... who knows what she'll do next. But atleast you had a reliable cheer up squad to count on.

(kami sama kiss! Aged up Mizuki probably university age so around 20 ish!)

When you’d first met Mizuki it was after everyone in the street had split squealing and screaming about a snake and for someone to step on it.

When you’d seen the almost pearlescent white snake your initial instinct was to step out of the way strictly because you’d seen everyone else do it but avoiding that you crouched down gently picking him up being mindful of the little nic you could see on his back.

He wrapped himself around your hand as you swiftly moved out of the public eye where the city meets the forest setting him down, but he followed you home anyways.

You were sort of glad anyways it meant you could treat his wound and release him when it was fully healed but you hadn’t expected him to transform into a grown man in the middle of your kitchen now did you.

Your cup shattered after you dropped it seeing Mizuki stand in your kitchen, all he wanted to do was apologize for scaring you earlier but with the shrill shriek you let out he can’t really speak.

When you’re finally finished he apologizes and explains everything.

That was almost years ago, now you find yourself down the same sidewalk your hand tucked into the pocket of your cardigan as Mizuki lays in your hand like you were a heat source but you guess if you had the option you’d curl up in a soft sweater of the one you live to instead of going grocery shopping.

When Nanami stops to talk with you after she’d seen you at the shops, she say Mizuki’s little head pop out of your sweater, the small wedding mark that crawled up your wrist is what had originally caught her eye but than it was Mizuki.

“Is that Mizuki” she pulls open the side of your pocket as he sinks back into your hand trying to hide as if she hadn’t already seen him.

⪩　　　KANADE isn’t jealousy, it’s very (VERY) strange to see her jealous. when she’s jealous, she just don’t talk. she looks at the floor, overthinking in her mind. . .

⪩　　　what if they are better than her? oh, what if you just don’t feel nothing for her? why are you with her? what if they—

⪩　　　she doesn’t even finish all that thinking when she hears a faint “kanade, are you alright?” come out of your mouth

⪩　　　she is slightly confused but knows what she feels. she knows its jealousy, its just that although someone has explained this to her (or found out for herself) that she really didn’t think that one day she would feel it in her own flesh jjjskwk

⪩　　　MAFUYU doesn’t know this feeling. she’s very confused, more than kanade. she’s never felt this before and ohhhh, she’s so confused. like fr, really confused

⪩　　　MAFUYU didn’t understand that feeling, she even thought she would never feel it until it happened. she is so confused that she can only think of going to the empty sekai to talk to miku and the others about this. . .

⪩　　　in an act of presence, the most likely she will do is simply be near you. not even making physical contact, just being there next to you waiting for the other person to leave or something

⪩　　　if the person doesn’t seem to want to end the conversation, that’s when MAFUYU will start talking. she will whisper something like “can we go...? i don’t really like this moment”, and although it is a whisper she manages so that only you can hear her perfectly

⪩　　　to be honest, i think MAFUYU won’t talk about that feeling once you’re alone with her. she’s a little afraid that it’s a bad feeling and you’ll get mad at her so she prefers to talk to miku about it before anyone else

──── 暁山瑞希 akiyama mizuki

⪩　　　okay damn. MIZUKI is a bit more jealous than kanade and mafuyu, but they are not toxic or possessive (never)

⪩　　　MIZUKI’s jealousy is more of a “you wont take them from me, nu uh” type

⪩　　　they can be serious or childish depending on how the person is acting. if the person is flirting with awkward words such as “you look very hot / sexy today” or something like that they will seriously defend you from those weirdos

⪩　　　MIZUKI right now would be saying something like “hey, your jokes aren’t very niceee. . . Besides, im their partner and i don’t even tell them something like that, gross. . . ”

⪩　　　if the person decides to follow and ignores MIZUKI, they are probably planning something (doxxing or threatening them, maybe)

⪩　　　ENA is definitely (idk why) more jealous than the others, but it doesn’t mean shes toxic to check your phone or anything. for nothing

⪩　　　ENA isnt jealous because she’s possessive or something, its because of her insecurity. more specifically, her lack of talent

⪩　　　she fears that you would leave her for someone with much more talent and confidence than her, causing her jealousy. Although she has never told you, ever since you n her started dating ENA has been afraid that someone more talented than her would leave her for them

⪩　　　ENA will probably feel upset if you don’t mention that she is your girlfriend when talking to that person (especially if they’re flirting with you)

Rui Kamishiro

Rui had a routine, one that was rarely broken. Even if he hated it, he’d always return to that loop of nothing. He chose the rooftop as ‘his spot’ specifically ‘cause it was rare for anyone else to visit it, a perfect escape from the cruel ridicules form his peers.

On this particular day, he realized someone was also on the rooftop. Though no where near him, rather, the whole other side. He didn’t bother speaking to you, not knowing what your intentions were or why you were even there. But at the same time, it sparked Rui’s curiosity.

Over the course of the next week, he noticed you were still there. It wasn’t a temporary thing? As selfish as Rui felt, he felt like his space was being invaded, despite it being a public area. But usually it was only him in this public area, like it was his. Ignoring all the screams of “don’t do it” ringing in his head, he decided to go up to you. Whether you wanted to talk or not was on you.

“Purple hair with a blue streak… unkempt appearance… are you, by any chance, Kamishiro Rui..?”

‘Unkempt appearance’ and a hair description felt a bit better than ‘weirdo guy,’ but could they ever just refer to him as his name?

“Yeah, that’s me. I’ve never really seen you around before, what’s your name?”

“(Full name), and you probably haven’t seen me around ‘cause I used to hideout in the bathroom… but I got found there, and it didn’t feel safe anymore, so I came up here. I heard this is the freak spot of the school, you and some other kid are who they talk about most when they bring it up.”

‘Some other kid’ rang in his ears, that’s Mizuki. He wanted to bring them up and how they haven’t been coming to school recently, but he refrained. He could tell you later, it didn’t feel appropriate talking about someone else with the current topic.

“I came to the rooftop one day to meet a friend, but it became a habit even if they aren’t on the rooftop on days. What do you mean hiding in the bathroom? And it didn’t feel safe anymore? If you’re okay with telling me… that is.”

You hesitated for a moment. Could you really tell a guy you just met about your whole bullying situation? But he also didn’t seem to know you, or even of you. It’s not like he’d get the idea. But the words couldn’t help but escape your mouth anyways.

“I get bullied a lot, y’know, the usual “Hider in the bathroom” story. Um… yeah, this school year hasn’t been the best… or the last few for that matter..”

Rui’s eyes focused on your face, your eyes held a solemn look as you spoke, as if there’s a deeper story you don’t wish to tell. He respected that, of course. This whole ‘first encounter’ is already deep enough.

“I can see where you’re coming from, I’m sure you already heard of me. I’m the weird guy who has sick and twisted ideas that are always harming people, as they say. I don’t think I’ve physically harmed anyone..”

His face scrunched up into a thinking look, making you chuckle softly. The rest of the lunch period went by without another word spoken. The silence was quiet, but a comfortable one nonetheless. When the bell rang, Rui didn’t bid a farewell, instead he only nodded his head and smiled, not giving you much time to return it.

The next few weeks went by as normal, boring and empty. But at least Rui had a new friend, someone to look forward too seeing. It felt a little less lonely on that rooftop now that it wasn’t just him and an occasional Mizuki. Although, if he did have one complaint, it’s that you didn’t talk a lot. Which he could understand, but in the back of his mind it felt like it was your way of saying “leave me alone.”

Which made him realize, he never got your number, or any other way to contact you outside of school. And Rui was far too anxious to talk to you in the halls or classes, worried about bringing unwanted attention to himself that could give more material for newer rumors. If you weren’t initiating more communication, did that mean something?

He tried not to think about it, he really did. But what if you were just as weirded out by him as everyone else? And you were only using him for company too feel less alone? What if…

“Hey, (Name), are we… friends?”

His question caught you off guard, it was so.. random. Not only was it the first thing he’s said to you all day, but you thought it was clear you guys were somewhat close enough to consider each other friends. Did he not see it?

“Of course we are Rui. I’m sorry if this comes off weird, but you’re honestly my only friend..”

Your only friend? He didn’t know whether to feel bad or honored, maybe both? Your response reassured him, visibly relaxing a tad bit more into your presence.

“We graduate soon, don’t we? What school are you planning to attend?”

He almost forgot you were in the same grade as him, and that graduation was slowly creeping up on you two. He never really thought about the future that much, not even knowing if he’d make it or not. Where did he wanna go next..

“I’m not sure, I think my mom is enrolling me in some random school around here, I don’t know which one though. What about you?”

“Kamiyama, I think. My parents were pushing me towards the girl’s academy, so they could have enrolled me without letting me know.”

He knew he wasn’t going to Kamiyama, the name didn’t ring a bell nor did he think of it. So this was most likely the last school year you’d see each other, isn’t it? For some reason, Rui felt genuine sadness. Not an “oh this is the last time we’ll see each other in school” feeling, but an “oh…” feeling. He didn’t know you nearly as long as Mizuki, but something about your rooftop meetings meant more than they should have to Rui. He got too accustomed.

That was one of the last times you two talked before graduating. There was never a number exchange, only a “nice knowing you.” The farewell was bittersweet, but it is what it is, you thought.

The first year at Kamiyama went by faster than you’d have liked. There was a weird classmate you had that you acquainted yourself with. He was… loud, but friendly. Having someone like that as your friend made it easier to get to know others. After all, this was a fresh start. There were more students at Kamiyama than your junior high, potential friends were everywhere. It was a sweet reassurance in your mind.

The break before second year was a lot less lonely than the previous year, but there was still something missing. You couldn’t quite put your finger on it, but there was something you yearned for that wasn’t there. It felt selfish, after so long you aren’t being ridiculed, and you’re still looking for more than that.

You didn’t like thinking about junior high, it was too painful to relive. But you knew it had something to do with it, but what? You start your second year at Kamiyama tomorrow, maybe you could pin point it there.

The new first years were… interesting. Individually they were all okay, but if you group them, it’s certainly a unique group. But one of their names sounded familiar, so maybe it would be worth your while talking to them. This year was looking good so far, really good. But…

“(Name), I knew you looked familiar. You’ve grown a lot, how have you been?”

That voice was one you knew all too well. Slowly turning around, you easily identified the owner of the voice. Rui

His hair is shorter, and he doesn’t look unkempt at all compared to when you last saw him. His eyes aren’t lacking the light they lacked before, and he’s tall.

“Rui? You said you weren’t going to be at Kamiyama, what are you doing here?”

“Well.. there was an incident at my last school, and they had to transfer me. Apparently explosive aren’t okay to use on school property!”

“You didn’t think that before!?”

The two of you broke out into laughter, genuine laughter. Not the awkward laughs or chuckles you’d give on the rooftop. It was only now you realized how depressed both of you were back then, not even capable of giving real emotion back to each other.

“So why did you choose Kamiyama? Did you miss me?” You were joking, kinda. You do wish he missed you though.

“Ah, well that and I know a couple others attending here. My one childhood friend and another friend from junior high, I believe I mentioned them too you before. Their names are Nene Kusanagi & Mizuki Akiyama.”

So that was the familiar name, Akiyama. It was better to introduce yourself now then later after so long of knowing of them.

“I’m sure we have a lot to catch up on, what do you say we go out to eat after classes?”

The way Rui spoke softly and with a smile made you understand that empty feeling you had before. You were missing Rui. He was the missing puzzle piece.

“Yeah, I’d like that a lot.”

Mizuki Akiyama

You’re not sure if meeting Mizuki was the best or worst thing to ever happen to you. You always tried to steer clear of others, avoid any cruel remarks at all costs. Lunchtime was the worst time of day if you couldn’t run away. For a while, you just endured being bullied during the free period, slowly starting to not care about food getting thrown at you or being humiliated in front of everyone.

At some point, you heard of a ‘freak who can’t comprehend identity’ hid on the rooftop ‘like a pussy’ to avoid humiliation. These words spiked your interest, were they seriously just bullying people to the point of hiding outdoors? And not ashamed of themselves?

Your mind wandered to this ‘freak.’ What made them consider them a freak? You knew from experience they couldn’t be too bad, just looking at the situation they put you in. If they’re hiding in the rooftop all the time, then maybe…

Slowly, you made your way up the stairwell, all the way to the top. The rooftop. With hesitation, you opened the door, met with the cool breeze from outside. It felt a lot less stuffy up here, and wondered why people didn’t come up here usually, it’s a nice view and comfortable. I’m getting off track you thought.

Your eyes scanned for this mysterious kid, not exactly knowing what you should be looking for. Did they have long hair or short hair? Sweater or no sweater? But judging by the way your peers said it, there should only be one person up here. And you think you just found them.

“What do you want.. here to tell me what I am and what I can’t be?”

They spoke first, annoyance clearly lingering in their voice. Maybe this wasn’t a good idea…

“I um, heard about you.. the kids that were bullying me said you hide up here a lot, and I just wanted to, yknow, meet you? I guess..”

“Meet me?”

Mizuki never knew people thought they were someone worth wanting to meet. But at the same time, their guard was still up. What if they sent you so they can keep getting picked on? Of course those guys would stoop that low.

“Yeah, I know I shouldn’t jump to conclusions like this, but it seemed like you were in a similar situation? With being ridiculed and bullied. We don’t have to be friends or anything, just… acquainted.”

Acquaintances, friends, companions, so many different words to describe someone who keeps you from being alone. Is there really any difference in the end? Mizuki was full of reluctance, but their heart told them to ‘go for it, meet someone new.’

“You can sit here, I don’t have lunch though, so if you don’t and you’re hungry, you’re out of luck.”

“Actually I do have something, yakisoba. Do you wanna split it?”

Splitting yakisoba wasn’t anything Mizuki hasn’t heard of, but it’s not something they’ve ever seen people do in front of them, let alone be the one apart of splitting it. It was certainly new. But, today they’re already on a roll with trying new things.

“Sure…”

You pulled out the container holding the yakisoba, keeping it warm and fresh throughout the time it was in your bag. Opening the lid made the strong scent hit yours and Mizuki’s nose almost immediately, it smelt good. Really good in fact it reminded Mizuki how they should have ate something today by now.

“Doesn’t it smell good? I made it myself. But I haven’t tried it yet, so I don’t know if the flavor is as good as it’s scent..”

“Well that makes me your food critic doesn’t it? Lemme get the first bite.”

They moved closer holding their utensil over the container, careful not to get anything on their uniform. Taking a medium portion into their mouth, the flavor exploded on their tongue. This was really good.

“You did such a good job! This tastes amazing… um..”

Your name, they were going to say your name, if they knew it. Your face twisted with concern, was the aftertaste terrible?

“Is there something wrong? Sorry if I messed something up…”

“No no! You didn’t mess anything up, I just don’t know your name. If.. you don’t mind sharing it?”

Right, you guys never properly introduced yourselves. This was a slightly random meeting, but you could have sworn you introduced yourself.

“I’m (Full Name), sorry I didn’t tell you sooner…”

“It’s all good, I’m Mizuki Akiyama, you can just call me Mizuki. Although I would have thought you heard my name around cause of how much everyone talks about me.”

Their name suited them, a lot. It was a pretty name for a pretty person. Only now are you able to get a better look at their face. You averted your eyes before Mizuki could catch you staring.

“Uh, well then, Mizuki. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
