Hi. I'm Amy. I write on AO3 and thought making a new Tumblr would be a fun way to promote and share my stuff, since Twitter has been ratfucked. I'll post hobby and writing stuff here, among other things!
I write and paint Warhammer, mostly 40k, and 90% of the time it's wlw content. It tends to be canon-typically graphic, gorey, violent, foul-mouthed, and all military sci-fi, taking inspiration from the Black Library and a host of other sources. You can expect original Sisters of Battle, Imperial Guard, and Raven Guard characters all getting up to no good in a satirical view of the tyrannical Imperium and what it means to be a soldier within it (augmented or not). I don't really write smut unfortunately, though maybe one day.
A long, serialized novel from NaNoWriMo 2023 is currently being worked on and posted, with a new chapter every week whenever the hell it's done.

Happy Audiobook Day!
Poor Man's Fight 6: NO MAN'S LAND is now available in audio! Tanner's post-Navy college life is interrupted by a new interstellar threat. Come for the cute & cuddly aliens, stay for the sarcasm and biting critique of militarism and macho bullshit (in space)!
Tumblr media
“I don't belong in the military. I don't want to belong.”
Tanner Malone never aspired to heroism. For him, the Navy and the Debtor’s War were all about survival. Lately, his life has turned to better days with college, friends, and a growing relationship. He’s not interested when a Union Fleet admiral brings him a mysterious alien threat, but he can’t turn away Alicia Wong.
Ancient warfare between humanity’s alien neighbors threatens to reignite. While tensions rise, the Fleet detects a massive alien craft sneaking through human space. The commando team sent to investigate is tough, competent, and straight out of Tanner’s worst fears. Surviving this will push Tanner to his limits—and he’ll definitely need a note for class.

CONFESSION:
I have to wonder how people who hate military sci-fi end up as fans of Mass Effect. Because that's what it has always been.

Military science fiction is a fascinating subgenre that I have not studied nearly enough, but I want to talk about how the military is used in Avatar.
The obvious thing is that Avatar is anti-military, in the sense that SecOps under Quaritch appears to be mostly American military veterans acting as the physical enforcers of colonization. But by making then no longer direct members of the military there is a separation from the real American military and this fictional job, and there is a lot that goes unexplored. Looking at Quaritch, Trudy, and Jake brings up several things.
Trudy is a Marine pilot. We know nothing about her past, why she joined the Marines, why she came to Pandora. All we do know is that she went along with the status quo until the destruction of Hometree, when she defected. We are meant to see her as a rebel, as someone we sympathize with, but we don't get a lot of time to see the way she emotionally handled Pandora and what the RDA was doing. You are meant to see her as a juxtaposition to characters like Wainfleet or Quaritch.
Speaking of Quaritch, he is really a simple character. He is meant to be the undeniably evil, brutish soldier, someone who lacked empathy and only understood violence. But there is more to examine than that. Again, we don't know his background or why the US was in Nigeria (thought it is interesting that both countries Cameron chose have been affected by colonization). He and his recoms are not sympathetic people. They didn't defect like Trudy, in fact they doubled down on the violence against the indigenous Na'vi.
Cameron wants to say something about the military and violence, but he didn't give himself enough room to and ended up with rather simplistic storylines that people have been trashing for almost two decades, which is a shame. There are some really cool things we could discuss, and the fandom has started some good conversations.

The Fall of Axiom, Act I, Chapter 3
"Donning the holy steel wings of the Seraphim, the First Squad makes their first foray into the Jeriko War. The skies thunder with destruction, the guns of the traitors crying for liberty in the face of the Imperium's imminent 'salvation.' But first, the Battle-Sisters must make it to the surface, a path that they themselves will have to carve by blade and bullet.
From orbit and by drop pod, Palatine Praxedes too deploys, a singular one-woman-army who will not stop until the two kingpins of this insurrection are given the Emperor's Peace. A glorified hit-woman for the Inquisitor, she will broach no surrender, spare none, pardon none, and carry out the will of Inquisitor Torrens and the God-Emperor no matter the cost.
Meanwhile, after weeks of endless death and battle, the insurgency's leadership is frayed and drained to two individuals who would just as likely strangle each other as they would kill an Imperial. Monika wonders what her father would think, seeing his tattered plans for liberation in the hands of Chaos-worshipers."

Entrapta with her PDW
Tumblr media
This took a long time to make, digital works often do. Still I hope you will all enjoy this piece and the lore I have for it. Hard to believe its been two years since I drew Entrapta for the first time.   This is her wearing her scolar-VII armor in my original story: ROBOTWARs.
<UEU-5013 Entrapta>  Entrapta was still a scatterbrain even after the AI transfer, showing high euphoria and optimism as she started working more as a scientist, often times designing and making new machinery in multiple fields of engineering, so much so that she was nominated in the 2038 Nobel prize for physics.  Once WW3 became inevitable, Entrapta would be a commanding officer in the 13th Pioneer Regiment attached to Army-Group "Rachel"   Despite agreeing to be a member of combat, Entrapta was not keen with taking lives like the other soldiers.   This reflexed with her defensive weapon: the PP-92 which she kept in her engineering kit, missions for the 13th Pioneer Regiment were also rear guard missions, fixing broken down/damaged vehicles and infrastructure in the Australian battlefield.   When the Surprise attack happened, her pioneers were stationed at the town of Texas while she and two others under her direct command UEU-1498 Skids and UEU-1499 Mudflap were in the middle of making a power station in the town of Surat.   The three were stuck nearly 300 km behind enemy lines, with their 6 wheel MRAP Buffalo A3 which Entrapta converted into her mobile command and control center, they were able to listen to the emergency broadcast, learning that the RDFM forces were isolated and fighting in pockets of resistance and forts.   with enough water to fuel the journey, the three headed for the town of Roma where five FLUFUs and two UEUs were fighting against units from the Indian, Pakistan and Afghanistan army. (3rd engagement of Rome)
three out of the five FLUFUs were heavily wounded that they would be out of action as they drove to three more pockets of resistance until finally, after twelve days, they arrived at fort Texas.   During this time Entrapta would make claw arms inspired by the claw on the MRAP Buffalo A3, mostly used for moving debris but when the situation called for it she would use them to dispatch enemy combatant.
I hope you enjoy and like always please share your thoughts in the comments down below. ^w^

didn’t realise space was so big, not realising the ships will need to go way faster than light like over 3000 times faster to make sense.
