It’s been a year since Abuela passed, since the family woke up one day to find her door blank and swirling anew, an ‘M’ engraved on the door handle. Now approaching the age of 25, Mirabel is the new candle bearer of the Madrigal family, and dedicates herself to bettering her family and community. She’s devoted to her work; if not to serve others, then to distract herself from the burning grief that eats away at her mind when she sits still for too long.

Anyway, enough of that. Here’s a mirabel ten years later to pair with the isabela i drew. i’ve already designed a camilo but he looked kinda ugly when i drew him so idk he’ll get a seperate post later. my art is going through a phase where i hate how it looks >:T

Pink goes along well with her teal scheme, and I tried to have it represent Abuela. Whereas Isabela was a purple, to show that she’d changed her family’s blue to try and fit Abuela’s ideals; Mirabel isn’t changing herself so much as she is trying to do everything Abuela did and more, and misses her deeply. i dont like the bow on her head but im too lazy to go erase it so it stays ig :/
