Having some absolutely deranged horny merihart feelings right now about a height difference. I know it's kind of accepted that philippa is the taller one, maybe because people like associating height with social/sexual dominance and philippa as a character never fails to loom large even if she's not flashy. Not to mention triss' tendency to make herself smaller, to not really assert herself. It's just a trend as far as I see it in the fandom, especially in art.

but what if..... it was the other way around.

Philppa who is 5 foot nothing and Triss her 5'9 doll. Philippa who wears heeled boots to court and lodge meetings because she knows it matters there, but buys Triss even taller ones. She parades Triss around, because look, isn't she so pretty? Doesn't she look like a painting, like a statue, proportioned like that? And Triss reveling in it, really. Philippa put her in those heels, but everyone thinks she looks beautiful in them, so wasn't that a nice gift? She stumbles a few times, and that's embarrassing, but Philippa is always there with a sturdy arm to hold her up, wrapped low on her hips where she can reach.

And when they get home, Philippa kicks her shoes off at the door but makes Triss keep hers on. Just like at the party, she walks Triss to their bedroom, her arm like a leash attached to Triss' lower back. Triss tries to lay on her back in the bed (she doesn't want to be big, doesn't want to do the work, just wants to be a sweet thing under someone else' body) but Philippa won't let her, pulling Triss up up up into her lap so she's even taller and her scars are right in Philippa's face. If Triss cries like that, at least Philippa won't see it, but she can still feel the tears dripping onto her head. Her heels are digging into her ass cheeks and it hurts.

something, something philippa putting triss up on a pedestal knowing her spine isn't strong enough to keep her there forever. triss thinking philippa would be a safe place to hide but ending up teetering at a height instead, waiting to collapse in on herself again.
