An Unfortunate Delay
Tumblr media
After crunching the update for these past few weeks, we realized that it needs a few more days in the oven! Since this will be the final update to Bonnie's Bakery, we want to make sure it ships in the best possible state. It's close to release, but it just needs some more time. We apologize for the delay!
But it's not all bad news! We've decided to put Bonnie's Bakery on sale for the itch.io Halloween Sale and Steam Scream Fest! Bonnie's Bakery will be 25% off for the duration of both of these sales as we continue to work towards release! For now, here's a sneak peek of the progress we've been making!
I hope to update you all again soon!

ive been thinking about this since i watched mahirus t2 voice drama, and the general response to the new interrogation answer just makes me think about it more. basically, it kind of irritates me to see people treating mahirus forgiveness of kotoko as a result of pure kindness, because i genuinely think the reason behind her opinion of kotoko is far more fascinating than the concept of "oh, mahiru's too sweet and innocent, she even forgives someone who hurts her so badly :(" with nothing else to it
mahiru is an idealist, and she wants to stick by her ideals no matter what. to condemn kotoko's attacks, and thus to condemn kotoko's ideals, means condemning herself. mahiru thinks kotoko has a right to chase her ideals, because mahiru also wants to chase her ideals. she would very likely still hold onto the belief that kotoko was right to do what she did even if she had been voted innocent in t1. mahiru, in some way, sees herself in kotoko and her ideals, even though those ideals are, like... obviously completely different from hers.
mahiru does not want to give up her love. kotoko does not want to give up her justice. if mahiru hates kotoko for that, then thats basically the same as hating herself. it's the same as admitting that her worldview is wrong.

Going to pull a Kim Dokja here and tell everyone that they should definitely go read The World After The Fall (novel version) all the way to the end because it is SO AMAZING and very very similarly mind-fucky about universes and reality and imagination and legitimate scientific theories you can go research about but the majority of the story itself feels mostly like a silly and bizarre action plot, when really it hits you with so many deep and philosophical quandaries and feels that you really don’t realise til the end and then you bawl your eyes out, kinda like what happens with ORV. I don’t want to spoil it by giving specifics, but like… it’s truly SO WEIRD that you will undoubtedly question how an author actually decided to go with those options, but obviously they had every reason to choose those metaphors and bizarre choices, yet you’re still left a bit like “What the actual fuck?” even after knowing how weird it is.
DEFINITELY BE CAREFUL if you experience delusions as part of your mental health though! They hit so many of my own at the end, I was so so glad that ORV had already given me actual psychosis beforehand so I knew how to take it in stride and not let it make me spiral. On the plus side, if you DO have the same type of mental illness as me, the story is even MORE relatable than ORV (or maybe like, relatable for different reasons to it, since ORV is still really cool too!) This only really applies to the latter third of the book though.
Anyways, READ THE WORLD AFTER THE FALL! Sing-Shong are geniuses with their stories and you don’t always realise til the end when they hit you with all the extra realisations! It truly is so impressive and also a little aggravating because GUYS BE NICE TO ME! But they’re already nice since they shared it with us, it just feels mean because then we get pulled into all their stories’ meta bullshit as a result.

Hmm one of the most fun fighting game things is picking up a game and playing it with friends and no one’s ever played it before and you’re just messing around trying to figure stuff out

so i did just go outside and it is mad slick. i was like whatever i've got shoes and so forth. then the wind picked up and i could hear all the ice-covered branches clacking ominously against each other and decided i should get the hell out of dodge. have you ever tried powerwalking when the sidewalks are sheets of ice? i wouldn't recommend it.

I dreamed I tore all the skin off my face and was someone something else underneath
Fanart of @sillysnightcrawler's Beast Shadow design, mid-transformation I guess. I... definitely leaned way harder into the horror. What can I say, I'm a sucker for a horrifying transformation.
