No I have valid reasons

1. He cheated on Mel.

I don’t give a fuck that him and Abby hooked up he had the opportunity to just end it there but he didn’t. Mel gave her everthing to Owen and was even willing to have a child with him. She had every reason to be pissed off at Abby for what she did and this is coming from an Abby Anderson dick rider.

2. How he was so ready to end everything with Mel

Owen was fully prepared to leave everything he had built, his relationship with Mel his unborn child everuthing just because he killed one guy on accident and because of some rumor

Yeah Issac is a piece of shit but I highly doubt he would of killed Owen for what had happened, most likely beat the shit out of him but still. He fucking treated Mel like shit and it’s so upsetting to see..

3. How he treated Abby

After him and Abby hooked up he tried to cover his ass and how he said “I don’t think she knows” Owen was so ready to cheat on Mel again I don’t care if he still liked Abby or not he was more than prepared to CHEAT AGAIN on Mel. That’s fucked up and that’s exactly why I don’t like him. He figured that after him and Abby’s lil hookup that she still liked him, Abby didn’t. I firmly belive that Abby just slept with him because the situation escalated.

At the end of it all Owen was a piece of shit who again CHEATED AND WAS PREPARED TO DO SO AGAIN on his pregnant girlfriend and that is why I don’t fucking like him

Yea he tried to protect Mel even when he died but dude.. he basically broke up with her before Ellie attacked them. I love Mel and Abby so Much and both deserved better esp Mel

ok but i don't think we've really dissected just how messy the salt lake crew, minus nora, is.

ok so boom, abby and mel are, like besties/homegirls, right? and what is an unspoken rule within girl friendships? girl fuckin code. GIRL CODE! DON'T DATE YOUR BEST FRIEND'S EX! that should just be friend code imo but whatever. anyways, abby and owen break up or whatever and mel goes right behind and GETS WITH OWEN. not only has a romantic relationship BUT GETS PREGNANT BY HIM. THATS SO FUCKIN MESSY!

now, we don't know how abby felt about that forreal forreal but I doubt she was 100% ok with it. like, i used to have a best friend who went for my ex-boyfriend months after we ended things, but at the time we were talking and were this close to getting back together. i was gonna full-on clobber her. shes lucky covid saved her ass. like it was hot gossip at our school and his school for two good years. but i digress.

AND THEN ABBY SPINS THE BLOCK AND HOOKS BACK UP WITH OWEN KNOWIN FULL WELL HE GOT A BABY ON THE WAY AND IS STILL WITH MEL I think! if I was mel.. well, I wouldn't have fought abby cuz one punch from her would have me seeing god... but shes not bullet proof. but whatever. but mel kinda did her big one telling abby she was a p.o.s, so imma give her her flowers for that. but I don't even think mel laid into Owen. like bro, I'm carrying your whole ass kid AND IM ABOUT TO POP AT ANY MOMENT AND THIS IS THE THANKS I GET? buutttt mel in the wrong too! why are you boomp-a-doomp-a-doompin' with your best friend's ex???

“The boat scene was so random”

Actually no it was not. Abby and Owen had known each other for years, both dating for a small while when they were young but breaking up as Abby wanted rather needed revenge for her father.

Years passed with both not wanting to reach the topic of their past, they have so many built up feelings that it has to be let out,

Owen clings to the past of him and Abby’s relationship and while Abby moved on from him she clings to the fact that Joel was alive.

We can see in the aquarium how owen was painting the view from Salt Lake City where we saw them help the zebra. This is another show of how he’s clinging onto what him and Abby had.

Abby on the other hand we can see that she’s happy for owen and Mel, yes she’s anxious that now her pregnant friend is with them on a dangerous mission in the beginning of the game and while you could argue that Abby was jealous I would says she was jealous that Owen was able to move on, have a family, be happy

Abby feels like she doesn’t deserve to be happy if Joel is alive. That’s why her passion for revenge is so strong.

When they confronted eachother in the boat scene the only way that they could get their thoughts across was through actions not words. Abby immediately regretted it, you can tell by the look on her face. You can see by how cowardly she was when Mel confronted her that she truly never wanted it to escalate that badly

But Owen. Owen again clinged to that, he thought him and Abby had another chance together seen in the line

“I don’t think she knows about last night”

“I don’t care about last night”

“I do”

“Which key opens the door”

Abby hated herself for what happened but this scene is imporant to her character because now everything that has been plaguing her for years with her and Owen. It’s gone, it’s done everything Abby wanted to say but couldn’t is now “said” she could finally let go of her past.

Joel was dead, her past with Owen is now dead, the only thing left for Abby was to find herself again.

When she killed Joel - you could see Abby had a lighter sense of self compared to the flash back of 4months before the begining of the game

After the boat scene - in Santa Barbara Abby walks with a smile, she’s happy she has no former weight on her shoulders

The boat scene is important to Abby’s growth as a character. So no her have sex with Owen was not random. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk

ellie williams - slytherin

ellie is 100% a slytherin IMO and i’m tired of everyone saying she's a gryffindor. she’s incredibly ambitious, driven, cunning (uses her own intelligence and skills for personal gain, i.e. tracking abby and killing all her friends), ruthless (in the aforementioned killing), self-reliant (rejects help, oftentimes from joel, i.e. at the dance), and brash, all of which are big traits of slytherins. we see her cunning, ambition, and drive particularly in her drive to kill abby, and ellie's disregard for the people that get in her way (i.e. owen, mel, nora).

abby anderson - gryffindor

in my eyes, abby is definitely a gryffindor. she's brave, stubborn, can oftentimes be blunt, and is not one to back down. i know some people argue that she'd be a slytherin because they have an idea that abby = evil and evil = slytherin, but i disagree. abby has drive, but it isn't pushed to the extreme like we see with ellie. abby also has a pretty solid moral compass, with the exception of killing joel, but i would argue she was haunted by grief from her father's death. i think, in general, she understands what's right and just, and tends to act accordingly, rather than choose pretty self-centred actions like we see ellie do.

dina woodward - ravenclaw

i was tossing up between ravenclaw and hufflepuff for dina, but i settled with ravenclaw because i think it just makes more sense. dina is rational, logical, is an observer rather than someone who acts, and she doesn't jump into things on a whim - we see this when tommy visits ellie and dina at the farmhouse to try and get ellie back on abby's trail - dina is rational in understanding that continuing ellie's revenge quest will get them nowhere and leave them with more blood on their hands.

joel miller - gryffindor

joel was a really hard character for me to sort, because i think he has traits from both gryffindor and slytherin. ultimately, i ended up in gryffindor, because i think, especially in the first game, joel shows his bravery and stubbornness to leave ellie with the fireflies. while joel's killings might be more slytherin, as they are quite self-serving, they weren't intentionally so, unlike ellie's.

jesse - hufflepuff

jesse's a hufflepuff to me. he's hardworking, honest, compassionate, practical, and dependable. jesse is loyal, and determined to protect the greater good. i see this especially when he tries to get ellie to go with him when they suspect the sniper in seattle is tommy, and make sure he's safe (where ellie stays to track down owen and mel, jesse finds tommy).

tommy miller - gryffindor

i put tommy in gryffindor because not only is he loyal, especially to maria and joel, but he's also very brave and definitely stubborn. i do think he's a little brash, like ellie.

lev - hufflepuff

lev was definitely a bit harder, but i landed on hufflepuff because of his drive to do good. i can see this in him especially when he calls off abby from killing dina. he's loyal, especially to his mother (despite everything), yara, and also abby once he begins to trust her.

yara - ravenclaw

yara is very rational, analytical, and intelligent, hence sorting her into ravenclaw. she's also very emotionally intelligent, especially when it comes to lev, and i noticed this in how she talks to abby.

owen moore - hufflepuff

i put owen in hufflepuff because he's got a very strong moral compass, diffuses confrontation, is generally good-hearted, and very practical. he doesn't jump into things irrationally and is loyal to his close circle.

mel - slytherin

mel is realistic, determined, and quite assertive in what she wants, hence slytherin.
