I hype myself up for my Asian parent-mandated medical-related course by making art for it apparently
Fun fact the test tube they’re holding contains culture medium known as a butt-slant (the butt part being the lower flat portion). You stick the inoculating loop with the sample in the butt and you drag it out in a zig-zag pattern over the slant as you pull it out. The more you know
(I know you should wear a mask in a bacteriology lab. Shhhh)
last part for now of the Insight’s main crew; bff edition.
details below
left: Gehaol Viqsar, second to the head of the scientific team on the Insight. he’s insightful and compassionate and brilliant, specializing in genetics and bio-organic studies. Gehaol is one of Erkleid’s closest friends, having been a fellow scientist to Erkleid’s late mate, Nenfurt Torma. they’re extremely close, with Gehaol often going out of his way to give Erkleid extra help or sneak him things he might want from the labs. he’s still relatively young, but a valued member of his team. in the Another Voice series, Gehaol is invaluable as being the one to figure out a way to separate Erkleid and Donatello’s dangerous telepathic and genetic bond.
scales: ghostly pale blue
bioluminescence: pale green
age: 99 Earth years
song: Astronaut in the Ocean, by Masked Wolf
middle: Erkleid “Ray” Naera, one of the youngest medical technicians on the Insight at a mere eighty-five years old. Erkleid is an extremely anxious individual, overthinking everything and seeking approval for his every action. he specializes in emergency medicine, being similar to an EMT on Earth. he is one of the five Caandensaurs in his entire race capable of bearing live eggs, making him an important member of his dwindling society. Erkleid has a deep crush on one of the Earth specimens his people abducted from the planet, Donatello, because of the identical brainwave frequency he shares with Erkleid’s deceased mate, Nenfurt Torma. Erkleid is sweet and attentive, willing to bend over backwards for Donatello’s safety and comfort. he appears here as he does at the end of the Another Voice series, sporting some... choice scars from a traumatizing event from the story’s third act.
scales: electric blue
bioluminescence: canary yellow
age: 85 Earth years
song: To Tell You the Truth, by Written by Wolves
right: Enpaui Drefin, the head scientist on the Insight, and one of Erkleid’s close friends. his specialty lies with a healthy bit of everything; Enpaui is very intelligent and works with everything from technology to biogenetics. he’s often mistaken for lacking the Caandensaurs’ traditional heating bands, because the coloring of his bands is nearly identical to the color of his scales. a caring and logical individual, Enpaui is hard-working and enjoys taking notes on everything and anything he can get his hands on to study.

I regret being a med tech student, my filo mom has told me so many fucking times that if she finds out im slacking myself anytime, she'd drop me out of that damn school because the tuition fee was such a bomber in the ass😭 as im typing this rn im embracing my shouto plushie whilst thinking about my life desicions and despising the outcome or what may be the consequences of it. If it does then it'll be fine as long as im with shouto in life im okay.
Client who was running 10 minutes late provided the excuse that they had allergies and needed to blow their nose.
Different client comes in with 2 kennel cough dogs that have already been no-shows twice and we ask the basic questions "are they still coughing? Are they eating well?" Client reasons with "I don't know I don't live with them." Well weren't you just the perfect person to send in with the pets....
Do you guys think the batch(ESPECIALLY Tech, Hunter and Crosshair) would be super expressive under their helmets?
Thinking about that time Tech was all "I'm impressed" or the way Hunter watched the Marauder almost get shot down or Crosshair saying "you weren't loyal to me"
With their helmets on, imagine what their faces were like?? With their helmet off its probably easier to just mask all emotion even with their brothers sometimes- but when the helmets are on? All bets are off.
Hunter's probably put on his helmet to cry without disruption.
Crosshair keeps it on as long as physically possible because furrowing his brows like he does 24/7 probably gives him a headache. Tech forgets his eyes are visible sometimes and they can see his eyes curve as he smiles
It gives rise to really emotional scenes like that one where Rex is crying and Ahsoka just calmly takes his helmet off because she knows. She knows and it kills her. I love love love emotional walls being broken and vulnerability like that I need more
Post that’s getting way more attention than I thought it would is of a crochet project I did to protect my hand from a nervous stim I have. If y’all like it I plan on posting more of what I make on my other blog @mushroomwillowcrochets
Anyway.
Any pronouns, 32,
I started using this site again when Twitter imploded, hadn’t used it sense 2017, but met my two bff’s here and had been a fandom blog for… shit like… 5 years? Longer? Idk.
Mentally ill af. The laundry list goes on and on.
Im a caregiver for the elderly, I sometimes talk about it. Fucking love my job. But this does mean I talk about death/dying so CW/TW for that.
I have a daughter, and a fiancé
I will warn y’all as a TW/CW sometimes I do go on about abuse I’ve been through. I also talk about my mental health issues etc. so yeah just a heads up.
Mostly tho it’s memes and incoherent gremlin noises
As a vet tech? You better believe it. Do not say the words 'slow', 'quiet' or 'easy' in a clinic. Never talk about how good the vein looks. And if you so much as think 'oh its been a while since we've had one of those cases' that will be the next phone call.
