I can't do much productively during the heat wave/health issue flare up/etc. like work on my games or anything where I have to sit at the computer/type for long periods of time, BUT.. I did passively sculpt a few tiny foods lol. I wanted to do one of my bigger usual sculptures, but those take so much more time and concentration, I thought something small just to keep my hands busy would be better.. close up photos look kind of weird and blurry from my camera settings or something, but overall they came out okay, especially in person.. Nearly the only reason I ever wanted to buy dolls as a kid was to get my hands on the miniature foods and plates and stuff that came with them, I've always just been obsessed with small versions of things like that, so.. why not make some! lol

#sculpture #ooops.. i could have posted this on the art blog but I forgor and do not feel like reuploading everything #into a new drafted post on a whole other blog.. not in this heat.. i have no patience lol #items are: tomato. asparagus. a four leaf clover (not food lol). some sort of folded bun or dumpling with meat inside (not based on #anything specific. I just wanted to fold a flat sheet of clay into a shape). pomegranate. cheese wheel. lemon slice. some sort of mushroom.#fish (not a real one. just made up. if it looks like any specific fish that'd be interesting). and fig.#I haven't been able to get many avocaodo pits to carve again. so sculpting. then is good for a tiny craft #WISH I COULD DO COSTUMES OR SOMETHING.. i have some pikced out. bundles of clothes laying on the floor of the closet #but GODS even before the heat wave it's just been so warm.. I know.. it's the summer. of course it's warm #but WHYYYyy............. what if it just snowed all year around and was awesome and beautiful and i was so cold and could wear 25 blankets #at all times.. what about THAT hmm?? .. the ideal..#anyway.. my favorite is the pomegranate and the mushroom maybe #The fig is hard because in the pictures of figs I googled a lot of them have that sort of white powdery type of thing on the outside #that grapes and plums and stuff have sometimes and it's hard to convey that weird like.. sheen.. plus the purple with almost powdery blue #and little lighter specks plus streaks of light green and a little orangey on some of them.#It's okay in person I think but this doesnt show up as much in pictures. The cheese also looks betterin person than images. you can't tell #the slight shine in the pictures lol. but the pomegranates look cool and also photograph decent.. hmm #I should have made toast with an egg on it or something. that would be a nice addition #OH ALSO ASPARAGUS MY BELOVED.. though they look a little wonky. the cuticle pusher tool that I sculpt with in leiu of any actual sculpting #tools has a kind of triangle edge that was suite for the little leaf details of the asparagus so that was cool. its like..ALMOST right lol

#txt #monster hunter #playing gen ultimate and ive been wondering what this would taste like #some monsters have real world animals that would be comparable (like bulldrome is a wild boar etc)#but some are full fantasy monsters. like this is a sea monster with thunder abilities #would the thunder sac cause its meat to have a weird taste or texture ? would its diet effect the flavour ? what parts are edible ? etc #my thoughts are maybe the tail would be good. since its a mostly aquatic animal then maybe it would be good in sea food dishes #or maybe prepared like salmon. just cooked by itself with lemon and some herbs ?#in monster hunter you have a nice meal go hunt and then carve parts from the hunted monster #but why not take some monster meat for your next pre hunt meal ? it could work..

Confuses me so much when I see people saying that antidepressants dull their empathy. Mine made me MORE empathetic and it’s annoying. Can’t even wish annoying people harm anymore without feeling guilty 🙄

something something the way following a violent crime a victim is processed through the hospital (and criminal justice, and social support, and legal) systems with a focus on what forensic evidence can be collected, what nondebatable 'proof' that something has happened can we acquire, the way ... a person recovering from one of the worst days of their lives is taken and processed in line with what a court might want from them on the offchance they press charges, on the offchance the charges stick long enough to make it to court, on the offchance the court cares to hear what this evidence is at all, on the offchance they might carry through the court case all the way to a verdict, on the offchance that verdict might be a conviction. the way they are not met with 'how can we support you' but with 'this is how we are going to help you, this is what you need'.

the privilege of being in one of those positions as a person who operates in that space; connor a Detective who deals with this every day, forensic nurses who see it on the regular, prosecution teams who want to "get him this time. Just this once. Just this time". the way 'I work in this space' means people are entrusted and assumed to have the knowledge of how to step through it without causing harm, and how rarely that is the case, how 'I work in this space' might mean 'I have survived being here with you before and I know a way through it' but not 'we will get through it any way you want to walk in, I'll get the mountains out of your way if that's the way you want to go'.

not 'you need to decide how you want to breathe, right now, this instant after you have access to air again, make a decision' but 'this is a way to breathe for right now, and when you catch your breath, you let me know'.

something something Connor who works as a Detective in violent crimes refusing to prioritise a courtcase or the potential for a courtcase as the be-all and end-all of his interactions with victims of violent crime. he is happy to and would like to press charges, that is his preference, that is his desire, but what he wants is not front and centre when he is working with people who are struggling to breathe. he does his job and he does it well and he is conscious of the fact that that does not always mean he has much of a role in somebody's life, besides sometimes giving them permission to prioritise themselves over some court case that will wring them out and choke them, and only might end up with a conviction.

#but on a separate note: if connor has a means to press charges against kamski for the programming of Amanda #he would press charges and would showcase each and every single piece of information that the media had previously failed to drag or carve #out of him he would display each of those pieces of information. publicly.#for the sake of trying to get him behind bars.#it would come close to. completely.#i am not sure of the word 'destroy' but it would hurt him very deeply and for a very long time and i am not sure #he would have space for his loved ones in that and i am not sure they would not feel Far Away from him #because he just cannot manage that AND pressing charges at the same time cannot manage having close relationships #AND tearing into the meat of it in front of the world. at the same time.#(would markus feel far away from connor - distant - if connor simply Couldn't Be There for a year? two?)#(not that he would leave but that he would come home and sleep on the couch instead of with markus. that he #would love him but do it so tiredly and quietly he might not notice.#connor tends to withdraw when he is Hurt. would markus feel far away when a lot of connor being at home is simply #catching his breath to go back out again?)#anyway the point is this: connor would give it all up. plainly. if he could get kamski in a court room #and if he failed to get a conviction after all of that?#i don't know.#i really don't know.
