okay but following up on this gorgeous art and potential Dick-infiltrates-a-harem fic

what if it's like a trafficking situation and once he infiltrates he's constantly trying to draw all attention to himself to protect the other people there until the rescue operation can kick off. Just the flashiest, most gorgeously seductive outfits and behavior.

And he's successful at it, too - it's less nauseating to him when he can treat it as a performance, distance himself from it, weaponize the looks and charisma that have drawn him attention (both wanted and really, really unwanted) his entire life. When he can use the helpless attraction that people react to him with in order to draw the master's gaze away from those less equipped to handle it, less able to protect themselves.

he's especially trying to shield this younger boy, who is dangerously, magnetically beautiful, and who was very obviously - very unfortunately - The Favorite until Dick arrived. He even looks a bit similar to Dick, superficially - soft black hair, and pale blue eyes that sharpen so keenly whenever his gaze catches on Dick. So unlike the hazy, half-lidded look he's always giving the master.

Watching that man put his filthy hands all over the kid makes Dick feel sick. He re-doubles his efforts to never let them be alone, barely even wearing clothes anymore to catch and keep the master's eye on him, instead.

only for Tim to be like. So I know you're new here, and this protectiveness is...really sweet and kind and everything, but. You're stealing my shtick. I'm the self-sacrificial lamb protecting everyone else around here by drawing away the worst of the attention. but revali is very thoughtful and methodical to me. i just reviewed his diary and the cb memory, and it's clear that his dedication to the craft warrants a lot of strategy, perseverance, and patience. he can be incredibly patient for the things that matter most to him

that being said, both revali and link will have a breakdown trying to assemble a single chair from ikea. they insist that the furniture is cursed but zelda assembles it in less than five minutes

to me, revali seems like he would enjoy classical music, and classic pop & rock in general. anything before the 2000's, revali can get into

projecting a portion of my own music taste onto revali, he fucks with songs like 'stitches and burns' by fra lippo lippi, 'i melt with you' by modern english, and 'true' by spandau ballet. i will not be taking any criticism at this time 🙏

link is soft-spoken, reserved, and a listener, he'll let you take the lead on the conversation or listen you out completely before saying anything.

i definitely feel like geto is the type to get attached really easily….. he’s sooo fond of his found family and if you’re his assistant it probably doesn’t take too long before he considers you a part of it. maybe you just ended up working for him on a whim, maybe it takes a while for either of you to loosen up, but there’s a kind of stability and comfort that comes with having an assistant that i think geto would appreciate. you could literally just bring him a cup of tea and he would feel so warm... and once he starts crushing on you it’s even worse!! (he has to fight off a blush when you ask if you can rub his stiff shoulders …. tries to act all casual about it but absolutely loses his mind at the feeling of your soft hands on his bare skin <33)

but yeah i absolutely see this as a tender kind of slowburn…. for some reason i also imagine his assistant being a bit more cold? or maybe more like. quiet and a little aloof. so you’re just doing your job, maybe just a tiny bit scared of geto and the power he has, while he starts warming up to you embarrassingly quickly. kinda likes those romance manwhas where the emperors fall for their servant… he wants to get to know you better!! he considers himself a charming man (he’s right 😔) so he tries to act all smooth hoping you’ll open up to him a little, and gets increasingly frustrated when it doesn’t work (either bc you’re still a teeny bit afraid of him, or bc you’re very immersed in the assistant role and don’t feel the need to share personal details about yourself)….

so basically i just picture this as a scenario where geto is down bad for his oblivious assistant 😭 you’re always right by his side and eventually he notices that he feels a bit irritated whenever you’re out of sight…. grows a little too addicted to your soft hands and the tea you make. to you. and once you finally start to loosen up a bit he’s literally soooo happy he can barely stop himself from smiling he’s all ^_^ kicking his legs like a schoolgirl. it takes a while for the dynamic to go anywhere but it’s sooo worth it for him.

he used to steal cigarettes from enis until he got caught and enis nearly killed him <3

(idriza flushes them down the toilet whenever she finds his stash)

he tried to give himself a shitty stick n poke tattoo of an eagle once with idriza's sewing needles and pen ink and it got infected and now it looks like a weird smudge

appearance-wise he looks just like his dad when he was a kid, but rougher, like he's grown awkwardly into his body

although he's a little shit he can act surprisingly presentable for important international meetings and such

i imagine him and kos being like. the kid u fucking can't stand but ur parents force u to hang out with. they have a lot in common they just can't stop arguing long enough to figure it out. ilija is the younger of the two and also jealous of him (not that he'd ever admit it)

just got to act 3 and I'm not ok. that conversation in the pistis sofia... after going through everything, losing a lot of people, your time running short and getting sicker by the moment, the option for V to trust Johnny almost completely is there.

the realization (for my V in particular) is that yeah, he would take a bullet for Johnny. yeah, he does want corps to burn, no matter how impossible that actually is. yeah, he will let Johnny take over to talk to Rogue and trust him with his body, because at this point, what else does he have to lose? Johnny needs his body to survive just as much as V does. and when Johnny tells him that he'll help V and be ok with being wiped out, V believes him. no matter if Johnny is actually trying to trick him or what everyone has told V about Johnny, he chooses to trust him.

in the moment, he doesn't worry about the reasoning behind it, if his mind is slowly turning into Johnny's or if he's just being stockholmed by Johnny, because he's seen the look on his face when a relic malfunction happens, heard the hitch of concern in his voice each time. and yeah, that concern is for himself, but also for V. he can almost feel Johnny's emotions in those times.

after that conversation, he realizes that he loves Johnny in a way that he can't quite put his finger on. like not being able to help but love a part of yourself simply because it's you, except Johnny isn't V. not yet, if Hellman was right about how this was all going to go down. but it's more than that. he also loves Johnny like a childhood friend you've always had feelings for, but know nothing will ever happen of it so you choose to be by their side through the years to be close to them and care for them in a way they will accept. except they've barely had time to properly know each other, yet they know each other more than anyone else has ever had.

whatever feeling it is, it is intimate and selfless and bordering on being completely, unapologetically unconditional. and though he doesn't have proof, V thinks that Johnny might be feeling the same, or similar, feeling toward V, whether or not it's solely based on his own need for survival.

he realizes that he doesn't exactly want Johnny to go away, not completely, and he's not sure if he could deal with the loneliness in his mind afterward, or the guilt if anything happened to Johnny's construct. he needs Johnny, cares about him, partly because they're slowly melding together into one, but also because he doesn't have anyone else he's ever been this vulnerable with, and he senses the same might be true for Johnny. he doesn't want to let go of Johnny, but deep down he's also not ready to die, his self-loathing be damned.

the pistis sofia is a great place to die, but not today, so he'll keep trying to find a solution. but the odds aren't looking good, and if it comes down to it, he doesn't know if he'll be able to choose himself over Johnny.
