A theory that not a lot of people are going to like but.

I don’t think Belos is going to die.

Defeated? Absolutely. Dead and gone? I don’t think so.

I honestly think he is going to be trapped in the mirror realm that the Collector was trapped in and Luz accidentally went to in Yesterday’s Lie.

Trapped unable to escape less someone lets him out again. He becomes a myth, watching and waiting, trying to manipulate someone desperate into opening the door for him. Hell maybe when the door slams shut behind him he can do nothing but watch. Glaring out at both the Witches who trapped him and Humans who moved on without him.

He becomes some creature remembered only as Belos the "Mirror Monster" or the "Witch Hunter", not Philip Humanity's Savior or Witch Finder General. But importantly...He is a Monster that can come back.

Because Philip is a creation of humanity. He embodies the worst of us and we are constantly Dealing with Philips, whether in our personal lives or as a society when they become a Belos, someone with power and influence and uses that for their own gain and goals instead of the betterment of us all. People who want to see others gone, who won't stop until they eradicate or crush what they see as unnatural or weird. And you can't reason with them because they do not see you as a Person but as a enemy. They have to be Drowned out by Others. Others who are capable of love and reason, who when they see suffering have compassion and can be appealed for help.

So that the Philips in the world are outnumbered and afraid because they know that people KNOW that they are wrong. That they have their power taken away and made to be seen as fools, incapable of love or kindness, and when they appear only met with looks of disdain for every word out of their mouth is laced with poison and hatred.

I think its paramount that we make our Philips into Jacob Hopkins essentially. And if that fails, we lock them away.

And so the evils of humanity are defeated, for a time, we learn and grow better but we stumble and fail. Fall back on our baser instincts and forget kindness and compassion and allow the Evil Back Out.

And I am rambling. What was I saying...Oh yeah

I think it would also be ironic if the puritan witch hunter basically became Satan locked away forever for all of his crimes. Unable to self reflect and recognize that he has become the "ultimate" evil, trapped in a hell of his own making.

One of Brazil's largest cities has carnival groups that will demonstrate in support of Palestine during this carnival. I'm wondering if Rio's samba schools will be doing the same.

In defense of Palestine, more than 30 carnival groups in Belo Horizonte intend to attract the attention of revelers at this year's festivities. Called “Solidarity and Resistance Carnival - Free Palestine”, the proposal was organized by the Minas Gerais Solidarity Committee with the Palestinian People. Traditional blocks in the city, such as “Então, Brilha!”, “Tchanzinho Zona Norte” and “Toca Raul” are some of those who signed the document, which remains open for new members. During the festivities, in each procession there will be a demonstration on the subject. “In this new stage of aggression against Gaza and also the West Bank, approximately 25,000 lives were lost, including 5,217 men, 12,345 children and 7,100 women. The last two groups alone account for almost 80% of victims. Therefore, we affirm that it is not war, it is genocide”, says one of the excerpts of the manifesto.

Here’s how I’d change The Owl House Finale(s)

(Because everyone cares what I think).

Thanks to Them

I actually like this episode for the most part. I think a slight reprieve from the previous season finale makes sense. I would focus more on developing Gus and Willow as characters. This would be a good time for Willow and Amity to truly talk and create a friendship outside of Luz.

King’s dad should start appearing periodically throughout the episode. Not visibly, but in little hints and glimpses to Luz. He’s trying to get them back home because they have the advantage of not being in the collector’s sights. He comes in her dreams, makes nudges to lead her and the squad to the remaining blood. Something along those lines.

We get a visual glimpse of the Wittebane backstory. Maybe Belos reminisces while possessing Hunter, during the hayride, and Hunter sees the flashback, confused and scared. Hell, for the Lunter shippers, when Hunter comes back to reality have the visage of Evelyn fade into Luz. Parallels ✨

I have no clue what to do with Vee. I love her though.

For the Future

This episode sucks.

King’s dad is still communicating with Luz

First, the Hexside detour should be completely removed.

The focus should be entirely on resolving the collector arc. Whether he’s a capricious cosmic entity or the equivalent of a child, end it here. There’s little time to delve into the archivists, so it can be skipped, I guess. We don’t know what the lore is so I can’t comment on if it could be condensed.

Willow, Amity, and Gus can still continue their arcs. Have Willow still crack and these two resolve it, not Hunter. Hunter doesn’t need to be with Luz but he needs focus on his new powers and discovering Caleb and Belos’ history. If there’s a connection between the Clawthorne’s and them, reveal it here, a little. Sprinkle a bit 🤏🏾

Belos is the devil on the collector’s ear. He sends them to fight Luz and Co. We get a battle which is Kikimora’s original + the games from Waking and Dreaming. We can even add Eda, Lilith, and King can go over to help. Regardless, our kids put up a fight and get thrashed.

At this point things seem grim. Depending on the characterization, the collector is gleeful over suffering or having a change of heart once he realizes his “games” are dangerous. Belos reappears, now reinvigorated/moss powered whatever, and kills the collector.

Waking and Dreaming

It can be here or the tail end of FtF, but Luz is killed by Belos trying to defend Hunter. This is not shipping fodder, I just think Belos really hates Caleb and by extension Hunter. There’s a lovely drama in him killing the parallel of his brother’s wife, if he didn’t kill her originally.

Now she’s in titan ville

We get the detailed and full version of the Wittebane story. If the Clawthorne’s are involved, bring it in. The titan wants Luz to know the full story so she can decide if she’s willing to kill Belos. We don’t get a handed down moral, but we see her earnestly think about this.

Meanwhile, Belos might let somethings slip about Hunter and Caleb. Everyone’s justifiably losing their shit and going ham. There’s no way they can beat him so they retreat.

Since the collector’s dead, everyone is freed from being dolls. Maybe bump brings everyone back to hexside and our group meets them there.

Belos is progressing slowly but he’s coming. This is the time for little character interactions like Amity and Boscha, Eda and her parents. Wrap up as much as possible swiftly. No high school politics.

Time doesn’t progress the same in the in between dimension. The titan and Luz talk. We truly close the collector’s arc. He explains what happened or gives a glimpse into their motives. There isn’t enough time to properly resolve it.

Luz talks about King

Eventually she agrees, gets her super awesome monster form.

Hexside peeps prepare for one final showdown. We have the coven heads including Raine, our main squad, the harpy sisters, and King and Hunter with their strange powers.

They fight and Luz returns

Battle, battle, battle. Little character interactions

Belos dies. I have mixed feeling on whether Hunter needs to confront him. So maybe he tells Belos to choke and Eda and Lilith stomp him out. It shouldn’t be played for laughs

The day is saved!…sigils are gone

Extended epilogue. Amity and Luz talk about things. Willow isn’t a sports player…wtf was that about?

Gus gets to travel the human realm or something besides being the same human club person.

If Hunter is carving palismen, can we learn why?

Eda being a teacher…is debatable at best. Raeda wedding though 😎

We see Luz finish out high school in the human realm while visiting the isles. There’s still the quinceañera.

I clearly didn’t hit every single detail of each episode. There are sections that are fine or not worth the effort to edit. I’m not a hardcore fan of any of the ships. I do like Lunter but I’m not going back to rewrite the whole show. My efforts are more focused on developing Amity as a character so the relationship feels more real. I do love my girls. Huntlow is not my thing. It feels hollow and a waste of Willow’s time.

These are my ideas for the finale episodes only. Some of these would be better if they started in earlier seasons but, like I said, I’m not here to rewrite the show. I hope it’s clear that my criticism come from a place of loving the show. Critical tags kind of annoy me because it seems to imply that this wouldn’t belong in the main tags. Opinions that aren’t attacking people should be able to stay in the main tags.

okay so the big thing about luz and mari is that its like. god okay.

so the human world in my fic is basically his dark materials pushed to the extreme--i took all the parts i hated about how daemons are presented (second to their humans, only talk to other daemons, mostly there as a symbol, settle very young) and went yeah :) this is how the world works.

and thus we get luz and mari. luz who was never so great at picking up all these rules because she was a neurodivergent kid and it just--they were so SLIPPERY. she was just doing her best, wasnt she? and mari, who knew they were wrong, they EXISTED wrong, did everything wrong, and had to step up and do everything right but daemons aren't supposed to be the ones leading the way. they are supposed to follow.

but theyre also supposed to protect their humans and lead them down the right path and its this horrible catch-22 where to be a good daemon mari has to be a bad daemon and it just. it eats at her. it eats at her so much, as they go to the boiling isles, where everyone accepts luz and luz fits right in and theyre wrong wrong wrong but luz is having fun and mari is too but no, no she CANT, she cant be a bad daemon, has to be good, and good, and good--

and then comes the choice. blow up the portal to save eda's life. or let eda die so she can go back home to her mom.

the good thing to do is to go back home. the demon realm? its just...a distraction. temporary. besides, theyre settled, arent they? sure, mari hates the form, and her scales are too-tight, and she can't shed them. sure, she drops her tail, and won't ever grow it back, but--shes being good, right? right?

luz wants to save eda.

luz wants to be a Bad Daughter.

luz is trying to be a good daughter. to eda, though.

and mari--

see, theres one thing worse than being a bad daemon. and thats being a daemon who unsettles.

so now theyre trapped in the demon realm. now luz is saying all these things about how maybe its good, actually, and maybe the human realm wasnt so perfect, but doesnt she get it? this isnt a STORY. this is real life, and in real life, you close the book and go home. in real life you swallow down lizard and you sit with it no matter how much your scales itch. in real life bad kids are sent away to become good kids. and youve never, ever been a good kid.

its wrong, to stay here. its wrong, that luz isnt as dedicated to building the portal as mari is. its bad, and its SO BAD, and mari keeps trying her best, and then makes it, halfway, and shes seeing the human realm, seeing home, and look, thats how daemons are supposed to be, and--

was it always so...stifling?

surely, she's just...misremembering. thats home! its where she needs to be! its...

sometimes people call them luz-mari clawthorne and it makes luz grin a bit and mari want to claw her own fur out (but she cant have fur it should be scales why is the fur more her than the scales ever were--)

sometimes mari looks at her own paws and wonders why she even bothers trying to make luz good when all its ever done is get them both hurt.

sometimes mari lies awake at night and thinks only to herself: does belos have a point?

but mari's a Good Daemon. she's doing everything shes supposed to be doing. shes doing it right, and she'll just--settle again, settle BETTER, and even witches settle, even if they're weird as kids, even if nothing is adding up, even if shes learning things in belos's mind, learning HISTORY, and if it's true, if belos is wrong, if witches and humans actually arent so alike at all, if luz is maybe more a witch than she's ever been human, if, if, if--

mari just. has to be good.

What if Belos actually thought Luz’s real name was Luzura. He has no reason to think she was lying about her name in the past, no one ever told him it was a fake name, and “Luz” could easily be short nickname version of Luzura. What if he believes Luz’s Mary Sue self insert persona is her real name 😭

I can't take Luz antis seriously I'm sorry but i am starting to hate them for numerous reasons

First of all, why do you ?? Care so much about this random fictional teenage character and the fact that she is imperfect ?? Like yeah I won't deny the owl house can get bad with it's writing at times but why are you so obsessed with hating it. if you don't like it why are you just filling your mind with more hatred and toxicity why are you s toh fan if you hate everything about it

Second of all a bunch of their arguments are useless. I most oftentimes see them ALWAYS bringing you her introduction and how she brang snakes to school. And let me tell you, in kids cartoons - character introductions are very much often exaggerated !!! All the time !! Oftentimes, characters in their introductions are exaggerated so the audience, usually being children, can easily get a quick grasp of who this new character is. Luzs introduction is meant to show us that she's the weird kid, people don't really like her, she doesn't fit in, she likes to have fun in weird ways. Her bringing fireworks,spiders and snakes into school, I believe is not meant to be taken extremely seriously, I believe it's a form of exaggeration, because fictional characters in their introductions are, like I said, exaggerated so they're easier to read

And honestly it seems a bit pitiful to always bring up the same scene over and over again even though it leaves little to no impact on the rest of the show

And don't tell me she is a Mary sue who's flaws never get pointed out. They literally do. Watch season 1. Also clearly she means no harm and she already feels such remote and guilt for things she has done but never has meant (helping belos w his plan). Are y'all trying to make her look morally bad? You're not doing a very good job

I've seen people say that she doesn't 'deserve' friends, her family, her girlfriend, or a happy life.

God that annoys me

You don't necessarily earn these things. Well, you shouldn't have to at least !! Everyone deserves a chance of a happy life, especially ppl like Luz who are just random teenagers who are struggling in their life due to various factors

Luz does deserve a happy life and a happy ending. Yes it might be a bit bland and boring in some people's eyes but that doesn't mean Luz as a person wouldnt deserve love and joy in her life

She continuously tries to "make up for what she's done" and she always blames herself too hard. Season 1 finale, season 2, season 3. It's shown constantly how do you miss it and how can you call her selfish

ALSO SHE LITERALLY LET HERSELF DIE ? And you're going to tell me that she's selfish even though she is literally anything but the things you try to make her be

Anyway I don't think Luz is actually that hated in the fandom, I just see very specific people hating on her and it makes no sense to me
