Dear Jo:

I’m sorry, I’m not your usual owner. I’d apologize for reading through everything she’s written to you but… I don’t think she’ll mind too much, given the circumstances. It’s Anne, by the way! Marcy’s… not here, so I’m going to be taking care of you from now on, okay?

She wrote so much here… about Amphibia, and about Sasha, and about me. I didn’t realize, I thought she’d mostly use her journal for her notes, it’s why I started reading in the first place. I was really hoping she’d have more about the box and how to travel worlds, but she avoided that topic pretty hard here, didn’t she?

I’m not mad at her Jo, I promise. Well, I was mad, but I’m not anymore. It’s hard to stay angry with her when I was reading about how much she loved us and wished for our safety and… everything else. Some of her entries on me were kinda sad. Did she really think all of those things?

I guess you wouldn’t know, huh? You only know what she wrote here; I don’t think there’s a single person who truly knows everything Marcy thinks all the time, not even Marcy herself.

I can’t believe I left her behind.

I told myself I wouldn’t think about it, Jo. What good does it do? Either she’s captured and waiting for me to come back for her or she’s… yeah, I can’t think about that. But she’d want me to take care of you in her absence, I think. Don’t worry, I’m going to do everything I can to go back for her and bring her home, but in the meantime, would it be okay if I keep track of everything here for her to find later? It’ll be our little secret.
